Reviews of The Original Rainbow Cone - Beverly
Love this place! Staff is friendly and fast. Lines can be long, but they breeze through it and wait is never long. Ice cream is DELICIOUS and worth the drive for me. A little pricey, but worth every penny!
I looooooooooove rainbow cone. Always good and refreshing. Plenty of little spots to sit around rather it be with your family or with one other person. Parking is tight so be mindful. If you have a Tesla there is a charging station directly across the street.
Worth waiting in the long line to beat the heat of Chicago summer and savor the yummy rainbow cone. Very tasty flavors and the combo just add more yumminess to each flavor in the rainbow!!
One of the southsides best summer treats. Open for 95 years they are serving the greatest combination of icecreams ever combined. Make sure to grab plenty of napkins or bring wet wipes as when it's hot out they do tend to get messy.
The funnest ice cream I’ve had. Which flavor will be your favorite - chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts), pistachio, or orange sherbet?
The other day I came by with my daughters for the first time. I always wanted to try a rainbow cone. Young gentleman Ricky explain to me the stacked flavors and somewhat history of the original rainbow cone. Also offered free samples of their new donuts! Awesome customer service. Happy I gave this place a try. Will definitely be coming back! 🌈
Diffidently get what they are known for the rainbow cone. The flavor pair perfectly together. The staff is so sweet.
Had a friend take me here one time and I loved it! I got to enjoy this amazing ice cream at the little Italy fest, and it was hit for our family.
I’ve always enjoyed Rainbow ice cream. My last 3 visits I’ve noticed that the ice cream was unusually soft. I write this review in order for them to adjust the temperature so that I can give the 5 star review they deserve.
The ice cream cake roll tastes relly good and light. I didnt like the almonds in the icecream.
Ricky is the best employee there! Super sweet and makes the place feel more welcomed! Would always come in again.❤️
Our favorite Ice cream spot the pistachio in my rainbow pint was gritty tho ....
5 star ice scream. My only issue is depending on who is serving the large rainbow cone looks the same size as the small. The palmer house and pistachio flavor are definitely my fa favorite.
We liked the sliced ice cream and sherbet portions, an original and colorful way to serve ice cream! Ordering is simple: Just ask for the classic rainbow cone, and specify the size (small, medium, or large). I recommend asking for it to be served in a bowl with the cone on top. Only a fast eater can consume the treat without having it melt or fall from the cone, and I for one wanted to take my time savoring the individual flavors. 😋🧁
Seriously good. I drove down from the far north side to get my own Birthday cake and a a friend said it was the perfect 'cake to ice cream ratio" we ate it for 4 days because it was that good and stayed perfect in the freezer. Naturally I had to take a cone to go. It's a Chicago tradition. If you can't make it to 92nd and Western then stalk the ice cream trucks in the summer.
Fabulous ice cream! Love! Love! Love!! The ice cream here. Nothing like it anywhere. There's always a wait. The line moves fairly quickly. It's worth the wait. I've going for 44 years. Never disappointed.
Wow, such a nice experience. I tried the rainbow cone which was interestingly delicious and the cake batter. Both were really good. Staff was very friendly. Fresh donuts were being made. Great for kids and groups.
Not going to lie, the line was pretty long. But, honestly, it didn’t take long to order and receive my cone. I went with the Rainbow Cone as a skeptic because I thought the flavors sounded as if they were too contrasting. I honestly didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Which is why I gave it 5 stars. I liked it a lot and I will most definitely be going back ! :)
Plus the little ice cream catcher attachment to the cone is so smart. I wish more ice cream places did that.
You can’t beat the Original Rainbow Cone! Everything was delicious and prices were reasonable. There’s no indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor seating. There are many flavors to choose from and service was great!
If you’ve had rainbow cone then you know. This is worth a trip. The orange sherbet melting into the pistachio and chocolate ice cream is the perfect summer treat. They have dairy free flavors as well.
I enjoyed the excellent desert here. After work, I went in to have a treat to cool off, and I couldn't have made a better choice than their pistachio shake! It must be tried! The staff was pretty fast and polite.
The staff was professional and personable. This is a place I have no problem waiting in a line for. Most importantly, the ice cream is a amazing!! Definitely a must go to.
There was a decent sized line but it went quick and the kids loved the ice cream. The rainbow ice cream was surprisingly really tasty too.
Visiting old friends in Oaklawn. After dinner they recommended Rainbow as one of the Chicago classics. It was unique and delicious.
Love, love this family gathering of ice cream 🍨 lovers each season! …
This a special ice cream, that went national, I was buying the rainbow cone, since 1980. My family owned a ice cream parlor in the 70,s. So I know my ice cream. What a treat if you get chance to have thier ice cream.
I've never actually been here but I did meet one of the staff on l4d2 and we played a full game on dead center. So for that I give a 5 star rating. Cheers Senator Armstrong!
Gosh their ice cream is very good. I usually go here alot. Their donuts (which was limited time) was pretty good aswell, hopefully they'll bring them back soon.
Ordered the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. It didn’t disappoint! To avoid the long lines, I suggest one comes during the weekday in the afternoon. There are tables behind the store if you want to sit and eat.
Always, a delicious treat! Next time I will get a large, this is the small rainbow cone. My kiddo had a large chocolate and cookie dough 😋it was huge! I told him to get a cup with the cone, he was hesitant but glad he took my advice, he needed that cup 😆 …
Good service. Friendly and approachable staff. The food is very tasty and very delicious.
Fast, friendly service, outdoor seating, delicious ice cream, especially rainbow cones and chocolate peanut butter. Ice cream cakes available also. Plenty of free parking.
The Rainbow Cone is a must try! The parlor/lobby was messy and needed to be swept. Overall a cool experience and I will return.
I worked here years ago and this place STILL taste great!! This time I got a rainbow cone ice cream cake. So good!
Loved going back to one of my favorite Illinois Ice Cream places. No food here unless you want to have an entire meal of the fabulous Rainbow Ice Cream. Great jellyroll style cake. Cones are amazing. No one makes a banana split like Rainbow.
This place was absolutely delightful. Its always jam oacked but the line moves fast and the ice cream is A-1. Sanitary and everyone wears gloves at all times. Love it!
I remember coming here when I was a kid. Still as good now as then. Nice little patio to chill in the back.
This is my first time comming here. The service was fast and ice cream is very delicious. Price is fair. Cakes look amazing! Also there was one thing that bother me that I noticed that it was unprofessional. I noticed that one of the workers wearing shorts and not long pants. Then I saw the same worker taking out the trash with apron still on! That is not sanitary.
I was in the area with my 12 year old and he decided he wanted ice cream. I remembered this ice cream shop from my grandmother taking me here when I was a child. I loved the ice cream then and he loves it now! Four stars because staff wasn't friendly or helpful at all as we tried to decide on ice cream flavors.
Always been a family tradition to come here. The absolute best ice cream in Chicago, you can't argue that!
I took a Friend with me
Years ago my 1st Mother n law and Father n law took my family there
She said get in the car we're going to get a lick
Looking confused they started laughing
So me and the kids got in the car the line was so long
Everyone coming out with piles of ice cream on a cone it was the rainbow tower to me that's what I called it and my kids saying I want one of those grandparents laughing 😅🤣 because I didn't see it until they said it
So we got in line
Memories I'll never forget priceless
This time we went on a Friday in the afternoon 3rd set of people in line yay
This place is a Southside STAPLE. And with good reason. On the same corner and lot for 95+ years and with the same recipe. Nothing beats Rainbow Cone in the summer. Even if the legendary isn't for you the flavors just BY THEMSELVES trump any ice cream out there.
Support local. Taste a legend.
Wow I wasn't sure if I would like all the flavors together but it was like a beautiful symphony. Next time I will get the large cone. I also want to try the cake roll. Definitely check this place out!
A classic stop with the best cones around! Even with a line out the door, it moves fast and you're always greeted with a smile. Love this place!!
We drove 45 minutes! But it was most definitely worth it the rainbow cone is definitely something to get for the first time, loved it wasn’t expensive like you would think, for sure going back!
Lived in chicago my entire life and driven by here many times but this was the first time I’ve ever gone inside. It was a nice treat after a long taxing day but personally I think it’s a bit overpriced for too little ice cream yet I’d come back if in the area & up for a treat with the family then price is less of an issue.
Super yummy 😋
Staff was young and lacked the energy to create a smooth fast service to such a busy establishment. …
It's that season, that makes you scream for 😱 ice cream 🍦 when the mercury is spiking. These delicious and delightful flavors will melt quick so be quick with the licks to finish it. For those that order a cone. In a bowl 🥣 it's more of a set pace of enjoyment. …
It was definitely worth the price to get the large. There is just no seating indoors but there are picnic tables in the back
Must go! Flavor and service are unmatched. We tried the rainbow cone so we were able to try many of the flavors. Would highly recommend going.
First time here and it was amazing. Never thought there flavors would go well together. I recommended getting a large because it gets eaten really fast.
Really great pistachio. Wish I got all pistachio rather than the rainbow! Everyone will have a different preference but there will certainly be something for everyone!!
The Original Rainbow Cone is a Chicago original.
Made up of 5-layers of ice cream in a single cone (chocolate, strawberry, palmer house, pistachio, and orange sherbet).
Always fast and friendly service.
Well worth the trip to this south side location!
Had a good experience, however my mother said the ice cream didn't have same flavor profile that she remembered!
They have other kinds of ice cream, but the Rainbow Cone remains the signature and highlight of any visit. The parking just outside is rather small, maybe less than a dozen spaces. As for seating, there is none inside, but there are a couple picnic tables set up out back.
The Best ice cream shop in Chicagoland!!
I love the rainbow cone! Great ice cream try the combination of flavors in the classic rainbow cone. It sounds weird but really tastes great
As always ice cream was delicious although grandson was shorted a scoop ask for large got medium but he still enjoyed it..
this is the ORIGINAL and by far the best. yes they've built a couple few more and that's great. those poor kids at the new locations scooping cones are still figuring out their sea legs. the original location tho is a well oiled machine. even at their busiest you aren't waiting long. their ice cream is good and the whole experience is fun all around
When you get your rainbow cone is like that “summer to remember” ! I can’t say anymore about it. Just go and get your rainbow and take some home!! We live an hour away but it’s worth it every time!!!!
Great ice cream. Always friendly service
I used to go to this place when I was a child but today the variety or selection is not what it used to be back in my childhood days. Very limited flavors and service. There used 2 b like 31 flavors of ice cream, now ur lucky if there's 8 flavors !!! Not cool at all. I'm very disappointed...
Fast line, delicious, friendly worker
Love coming here at the end of summer. Always a tasty treat.
Wanted to try more southside favorites and was told the Rainbow Cone was a must. Glad I tried! Cone of assorted flavors and colors. Orange sherbet, green pistachio, vanilla Palmer House, and think strawberry and chocolate. Was great and would be back! Had the small size and was plenty.
Great ice cream, only thing is parking.
We've been coming here for decades! The ice cream is homemade, and delicious. My favorite is Palmer House. My kids love the Rainbow Cone itself. Whatever your favorites are, you can't beat the quality.
They ice-cream is good in I like the location
It is ok, but the taste is nothing special. And i am afraid that too much (probably) color in the ice cream is not the best idea.
I have been going to rainbow ice cream since I was a little girl and my dad used to take us there after church so I've been going for at least 60 years my favorite ice cream ever
My first experience eating the rainbow cone was in Skokie, from a food truck. It was delicious beyond all expectations! In reading the reviews, I have no idea why anyone would order any other flavor. The rainbow combination is perfection. I wish the owners would open a store on the North Shore. Many former south siders living here.
Came here while visiting from Canada!
Very high quality ice cream. I see now why it’s a Chicago classic. Amazing taste across all 5 flavours esp the other 3 besides chocolate and vanilla. I will say though that the cake is pretty meh. Definitely lots of potential there. The breading isn’t very good and takes away from the overall taste. Definitely worth getting the rainbow cone though. I understood after why this was a must stop by place when visiting Chicago.
Opened in 1926, this place is great! My mother grew up a few blocks away and used to come here when she was a child. Try the original Rainbow Cone!
Good but over hyped plus I ordered a two scoup come with pasticico and palmer house ice cream but it only had the pasticico not impressed
Amazing! Always amazing! This place has been a summer staple from my childhood and never fails to please. Get the original and just take 15 minutes to enjoy it. You'll be happier and probably healthier too. Don't quote me on the second part.
Quality of product gets a 5 star rating as usual, however the cashier must've been having a bad day.
Always a good choice. Love the original rainbow cone and they have the best chocolate peanut butter around. The line is usually really long but worth the wait. Parking during busy hours is the only thing that prevents me from giving 5 Stars.
Do I really need to write a review? Over two decades of patronizing is location. Rainbow provides an outstanding product, speedy service and they are open to your special requests in regards to the handpicked ice cream. Also, I love that they are now open longer into the season.
Ice cream was really good. The service was super slow and the man who was running the cash register and appeared to be the manager was pretty rude. Could work on customer service.
A must if visiting Chicago and a treat for any day of the week! Several choices of ice cream to choose from in addition to the well known Rainbow cone!!
Yum! Delicious and creamy ice cream/sherbert. Super fast and enough room to social distance
I got the rainbow cone, it is the best icecream I've ever had! Though it was super windy today so when my icecream melted a little it was flying everywhere lol
Super service and the original is Awesome
Finally made it there and it was worth the wait. Delicious ice cream.
Been coming to this place since I was just a kiddo 42 years later I get to share it with my children
Neighborhood favorite with outdoor seating! Plenty of parking and quick service. Very friendly and efficient staff! And of course the ice cream is bomb!! They offer delivery now! Open late, treat yourself!
The ice cream stays great at this place.Never changes 👏👏💯💯💯 …
Accidently rated this place 1 star apparently, had someone to reach out to me asking for insight which confused me at first. Thanks for reaching out. I usually don't leave 1 star without a reason, so editing it. This for me was more 3 stars, but for sake of transparency, I'm in my 40s so I'm coming at this as an adult with no kids tagging along. There wasn't anything wrong with the place or the people, that was fine despite a longer than preferred line. The ice cream is cute looking. It's certainly popular, with a line out the door. It's totally fine ice cream. I think the gimmick is the real draw, not the actual flavor, as it was OK, not amazing. I don't know that I'd wait in line again. However, if you're into the look of it and want to give it a shot, try to catch it on a slower day so you can pop in without too much a wait. It may be more your interest and it does make for very Instagramable pics.
It isn't summer until we get our Rainbow cones in a waffle cone! Just like it was growing up!
Thanks to upper management I have a different review on this business. She was very quick to respond to the situation and very helpful and understanding on which is very good work ethic, absolutely professional and very courteous in addressing the issue. When I went in last night the young lady at the register was very professional and helpful I CANT SAY THE SAME ABOUT THE OTHER WORKERS UNFORTUNATELY... When she told her coworkers my order they made a face and said wow we are going to have to work. They yung man that was doing the order just Seems bothered, also going very slow taking his time like he really didn't care. I cant say It was the best experience but it wasn't the worst like the night before.
Wonderful ice cream and atmosphere
Still taste the same after 10 years!
My first rainbow cone was delicious! Seating is limited, and the place gets busy, but it's worth it.
My mother worked here when she was a teenager 63 years ago. She's gone now but the rainbow cone is still an area hit. Nice people and it's amazing how a neighborhood landmark has served 4 generations.
Was okay server in shop was friendly and helpful.
Omg! Absolutely delicious!! I actually don't like some of the flavors in the cone by themselves. For example, I don't like orange sherbet or strawberry ice cream, but the all those flavors together are party in my mouth. One cone and I'm addicted!
I don't like chocolate ice cream or sherbert very much...I like theirs. Get the rainbow scoop, it's perfect.
Nice place for family ice cream treat night or day.
Don't have as many flavors as they used to, and building exterior is dilapidated. Perhaps if they changed their location to one with lower taxes, they could afford to fix it up. Ice cream is not my favorite, either.
This ice cream parlor is very professional and Old fashioned Love the place have a love variety of selections. And good customer service is also.
The service was great, & the ice cream is delicious. I purchased the ice cream cake roll for the first time & I love it. The inside of the shop is really nice & has a lot of photos from back when it first opened. The staff are kind & professional. I will definitely recommend rainbow cone to family & friends.
I always bought this icecream at the taste of Chicago, did not know it was in my neighborhood. I love rainbow i go often. The staff the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The have a small canopy on the side where you can enjoy eating outside
What a cute little place!! The rainbow cone is such an interesting combo of flavors but it works *really* well together. Plus the shop just has really fun vibes. Great place to take kids.
The order was a big one.. we got the correct items. Everything was delicious. Love the sitting in the back!!
The real
deal baby!!!! Hits like no other just dont let it melt to
quick and fall everywhere LOL this cone is KING!!!!!!!!
Growing up, I never liked neopolitan, so whoever took that mix and then managed to figure out that adding pistachio and sherbert blended everything together is an absolute genius. Highly recommend the rainbow cone - might be my favorite place for ice cream now. If you're looking for another flavor, the mint flake is also great.
Ice cream was great. Kids loved it, that is, until one of them needed to use the restroom, and there wasn't one.
Very good ice cream!!! 69/10
The 'classic' rainbow cone! Just as, if not even more, delicious than I remember from so many years ago. Be prepared to stand in line but, well worth it. THIS is a south side institution. Rainbow has been around since America was founded!
Been going here since I was a little girl. First time I ordered my rainbow cone minus the orange sherbet. One of my least favorite flavor, much better without it.
It is absolutely the best ice cream anywhere. Whenever I am in Chicago, I will go out of my way 45 minutes just to get here. The mix of flavors is just perfect, and there really is nothing else quite like it. Sometimes I'll even eat two cones, which I've never done at any other ice cream shop!
Stopped by on our way home. My daughter says they have the best bubble gum ice cream ever! Friendly staff, clean , fair prices!
A south side institution. A must have during the short and warm Chicago summers. The classic cone with 5 flavors is a definite must try.
I love this ice cream parlor. I've been going to this place since I was a little kid. Now when I come into town (Chicago) I must stop by for my ice cream. Good job for maintaining excellent ice cream.
The absolute very best ice cream in the world. It is too bad there are not several of these through out the Chicago Metropolitan area. The sherbet is amazing and nothing comes close to beating its freshness taste and quality. The ice cream cakes are magnificent the care and time put into baking and preparing them is greatly appreciated by me and several of my family and friends. The service staff are very customer friendly and have a good time working here. The shop is very clean and sanitary. The parking lot is safe clean and well lit. The place is seen very easily from Western avenue. Attend!!!!
Was the best ice cream cone I've had! Worth the drive from the South Suburbs! Friendly staff, patient while we puck out everything we wanted, a happy place for us adults, customers kept coming in & ALL very happy leaving with bags or cones of ice cream! Will be back!
One of my favorite places. Been a customer for a while now
Rainbow Cone has been in business for ninety plus years. I've been a customer for over fifty years. Their ice cream is legendary. They have not changed the ingredients and it is just as good now as it has been for all the years I've been going there. If you've never had a Rainbow Cone, put it on your bucket list. You won't be disappointed. Did you know Rainbow Cone has cakes? They are the best ice cream cake you will ever eat. I went to pick one up yesterday. My family can't wait to eat it.
I am not a Chicago native, moved here in the winter right before s global pandemic hit. so this was my first rainbow cone 😍
I was so excited. I wish I could have finished it though.
We have now found a few of the trucks in our suburb.
The staff is friendly, helpful & efficient. Can happily say that the wonderful flavors enjoyed over 65 years ago haven't changed, still as delicious ever. We now bring a cooler for what has become a most worthwhile "road trip".
Still as good as it was when I was a child! A delicious treat!
The flavors are really good, but the workers need more experience, my cone with really messy and the A/C wasn’t cold enough because my ice cream was already melting before I went out the door. When I went into the car the ice cream started dripping on my clothes.
What a great place. The rainbow cone is incredible and the large size is truly huge!
Each flavor tastes distinct and heaps over the cone so much that they give you a guard to keep it from dripping on you.
My grandfather has been coming here since 1952 and although he doesn't live in the area anymore he makes a point to visit (multiple times) when he visits Chicago. If we had a way to do it, we would have taken a cake all the way back to South Carolina.
I highly recommend visiting this place.
Love the different types of ice creams available, we always have a wonderful experience.
yum, just plain yum, gotta love those slabs!
Best ice cream ever!
I was excited to go to this pop up location. My friends hyped this place up...but I wasn’t impressed. I really love the story of how the owners started their business. The service was friendly and the prices are great. The ice cream just didn’t do it for me.
Still the same place I went to as a kid. You know the old saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it! Last time I was there I was all of 14 and not much has changed. Take a ride and enjoy this wonderful Chicago staple.
Ice cream is good but it's very pricey. I had purchased a pint of black walnut ice cream and I guess I didn't eat it in a timely manner for my son. So he said he figured I didn't want it and he got some and it was so good he ate it all. So when I was ready to eat it. He had eaten it. Without saying I was very upset. So I told him he to go out and get me another pint. Thank God we live right in the neighborhood. When he returned with my ice cream all he could say is. You will never have to worry about me eating your ice cream from rainbow cone again. That ice cream is too expensive. It's good but never again. I said so now you see why I was upset....lol but I love their ice cream
My Dad took us there when we were kids (which was quite awhile ago). It has always been a favorite. I like to introduce the grand kids to the joys of a rainbow cone.
Pretty good. They have many flavors and the rainbow cone is always a great choice. I personally like the banana split. Its a big portion too!
Fast & Great Experience!!!
I've been coming here since I was a child and it remains the same great place.
Great ice cream but something changed with the cones they provide with the quart ice cream purchase. Need to change back and reconsider lowering prices, getting too expensive in comparison to their custard rivalry on 95th street or Oberweis. Ice cream desserts should be fun and not credit card worthy when purchasing.
My pickup was quick, thanks to the attentive young lady behind the counter...
This place is like home and reminds me of my childhood. I loved going here when I was young and was always something I looked forward to growing up. But when I moved, I hadn’t gone here for about 10 years 😔 and ended up replacing it with Andy’s custard. I had a terrible craving for it lately and was in the neighborhood , so decided to finally stop in. I could’ve cried just stepping in. The smell alone brought back all those memories. I missed this place. The line went quick and the ice cream (old school style) was as good as I remember. Even better actually and I was mad I only got a small cup. This is a neighborhood Best and I hope this place continues growing strong. I WILL be back soon!
Best ice cream in the Chicago land area hands down. Have been coming here for over 20 years with my family and it never disappoints. Expect a long wait time but it's well worth the wait.
Ice cream is amazing, service could have been friendlier
Our neighborhood ice cream shop.
Never disappoints, ice cream is always great, service is always gracious.
Lines may be long, but it moves quickly.
Nothing better than riding our bikes or walking up to Rainbow Cone on a hot and lazy afternoon
Love this place for quite some time now!
Great ice cream! Parking a plenty! Nice outdoor sitting area. The four stars are for the price. $5 for a small rainbow cone is a bit much but then again there is really no other place in the city that makes a rainbow cone quite like this place!
Great taste, but not a lot of flavors. You can try their famous rainbow cone, it's a mix of 4-5 diff flavors of ice cream. It's a blend of sweet, nutty, crunchy and a big slab new York vanilla in the mix. personally I didn't enjoy it much, might have been one too many blends for me but hey it's been around for eons! Try it out, just for fun.
I had an large cone vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. It was amazing
I really liked their ice cream!
Every flavor was so unique and delicious.
It looks a little dirty and could have a better system getting the ice cream but, it’s all worth it once you eat your ice cream
Very historic place and wonderful ice cream. I really enjoyed the butter pecan and the black walnut, although their specialty is of course the rainbow cone. There are picnic tables in the back of the building under a roof. You can sit in the shade and enjoy your treat.
Okay Icecream. Not really too much to swoon over. If you need a quick Ice cream fix and don't want Ben and Jerry's go here. The lady who made my shake was a little snappy. "Can you move down there" oh okay.
Cute little ice cream shop! I got a rainbow cone, and it is a bunch of flavors that tie together really well! They give you little drip covers to keep your hands clean with cones, and their staff was very nice!
A South Side Classic! My mom ate here when she was a kid. The rainbow cone is a perfect combination of flavors! Every flavor is delicious in and of itself and they complement each other so well and in such a way that something truly new and unique is created. The rainbow cone has some flavors that you just can't find anymore, for example, Palmer House. This place is a national treasure!
Rainbow cone is such a great place - all of their rainbow flavors have impressed me, although my favorite is probably the Palmer House. Seasonal hours, closed during the cold part of the year.
Update 2020 - they are now open year round I believe. Awesome!
Love love love Rainbow Cone! I moved out of state for several years but always had to go to Rainbow Cone when I was visiting! I highly recommended trying the Rainbow Cone. If you haven't been here, it may seem like a strange combination of flavors but they really work together!
Staff is awesome & ice cream is delicious ! Their orange ice is a MUST TRY!
Simply the best! Fast service, great prices and huge portions! I ordered Original Rainbow Cone size small and it was huge! Delicious! I would definitely recommend this location to my family, friends and strangers! Yummy!
I mean, how can you beat a rainbow cone? Pistachio, cherry, orange, and chocolate. It's all the best flavors and it just works!
The ice cream is just perfect! Creamy & without any artificial flavors. Don't let the crowd intimidate you. The folks behind the counter keep it simple & keep it moving. You NEED a rainbow cone in your life! I promise!
Good ice cream just wouldn't stay on the cone get a cup with it!
At first I thought "What the heck?! All these flavors put together?! This'll be interesting." But I gave it a shot and I am so grateful I did. It was such a yummy ice cream cone. A little expensive for the serving amount but it was very delicious.
Can’t go wrong with a
Large rainbow cone . They have become real pricy .
Since I was a kid Rainbow Cones brought excitement. I'm 74 and my husband & I are going today. I'm excited all over again! Rainbow Cones opened in Orland Park years ago but it didn't last. Nothing like the original place with the line around the corner. The anticipation was a big part of the fun.
Rainbow cone is my favorite summer time treat. I'm so happy the light is there now to make it an easy out. The cakes are also wonderful. They're a bit hit wherever I bring them and always go first.
lots of young people working here. It's quick casual and not too expensive. There are limited flavors of ice cream but you can get a shake a Sunday a cone or a dish of ice cream. There is picnic table seating outside only; no seating inside.
My favorite ice cream place in all of Chicago! This place is a special treat for my entire family. I especially enjoy their famous "rainbow cones"! You can't find those mixtures of flavors anywhere else. I recently moved out of Chicago and the loss of Rainbow Cone has been one of my greatest regrets.
Very good ice cream third original rainbow cone is the best
I live in Colorado but make it a point to come to Rainbow Cone whenever I come to town. I'm really badly that they are open year round now. Last time I got the cake and it was incredible... went back a second time on the same visit.
Been here multiple times they ICE cream is a little pricey to the eye but I promise once you start eating you going to see the quality of the ice cream it's not that stuff you get off the ice cream truck or out the freezer if a grocery store. I had rainbow sherbet on a waffle cone! Fire
Too bad I live so far away. I love rainbow cone ice cream. You can't go wrong with an ice cream cake from Rainbow Cone for a birthday party.
Try it! You'll thank me later.
There was only one person working when I arrived 30 minutes before closing. A few minutes after me 20 more people walked in. That one woking person did an amazing job taking orders & filling them. He was so kind and relaxed!
Can't believe those 5 flavors go together, but they do.
Best ice cream!! Brought my brother in law to try for the first time and the guy that served us gave us free chocolate waffle cone upgrades for being a first timer great customer service definitely recommending and coming back
A fun place to go to enjoy a nice rainbow cone. This establishment is a staple for the south side and after visiting you will feel proud to have tasted an institution. Although I have only been here twice, both were positive experiences and little wait times. Be sure to keep track of seasonal hours, because it is not ideal to make the drive and then be turned away because they are closed!
After calming down I realized I gave an unfair review. I took a snapshot of a single event of a kid who was obviously having a bad day and didn’t compare it to all the great services and awesome ice cream that I enjoyed over the years. So I like to say I’m sorry and keep on doing what your doing.
Hot damn. Did not grow up on the south side, but my wife first brought me here when we were dating. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a rainbow cone. The five flavors, which may not seem like they go well together, are perfect. I think the orange sherbet may be the best out there. Parking can be a nightmare, but just be patient!
A good place to get delicious sweet treats.
Quite possibly the best ice cream on the south side.
It's One of the best Ice Cream in the Us ( if not the world ). Once you have their Rainbow cone you will agree. I could never have enough .my only problem with this place is, there's no location on the north side, How about opening new location on the north side ( navy pier dont count ) so i can get my daily fix, please?!
We have been going to Rainbow cone for over 40 years. We got our kids Birthday cakes from there every year.My children and their families go now too. Still delicious!!
The one place that still carries the original Bubble Gum ice cream!!! The staff is very friendly and the ice cream is always good. There is outside picnic table style seating. The sad part is that they are only open during the summer!!!
Yeah baby. Best in the Midwest. I get one every 20 years.
A must try Chicago spot! Always great service and delicious treats! If you haven't tried a rainbow cone, it's a must have! My personal favorite flavors are pistachio and the orange sherbet!
Always good. I look forward to its opening when time come around to be opened. I love my banana splits. They make it like I ask and afterwards everybody around me want one. Enjoyable!
Only thing that sucks is Buena Beef purchasing it.
Every flavor is different and delicious, it's not like every other rainbow ice cream where they all taste like orange. I am not a fan of pistachio but wow theirs is delicious. Kids can be little friendlier but ice cream is amazing. You have to try , soo soo good
It's a toss up between a regional rainbow and plush horse, but they're definitely both on top of my list.
They are awesome!!! They fixed my order even after I was the one that messed up. Ice cream had amazing flavor
Had a hot fudge made with strawberry ice cream. It was delicious.
Just Me, De

The Rainbow Cone is a classic. Even though there was a bit of a line, we got our cones quickly and efficiently. There is no seating inside but we found plenty of picnic tables to sit at while enjoying our cones. You can get other flavors and even an ice cream cake.
This place is such a mainstay in Evergreen Park. I'm lactose intolerant however that doesn't keep me from getting the large Rainbow cone (waffle preferred). Take it with, enjoy on their patio or in the parking lot in your car. You know summer is here when they open for the season.
A small rainbow icecream on a cone $4.95! That's fine but the amount they give you doesn't coincide with the cost. Very disappointing. There is seating behind the store. That was nice.
This place is a south-side favorite for good reason, it has some of the best ice-cream that I have ever tasted, but Im a bit bias, I grew up eating it. On hot summer nights be prepared to wait for the rainbow deliciousness, the line is know to be out the door. its something about the chocolate, strawberry, palmer house, pistachio and orange sherbet combo that can not be beat. I know that its only open during the summer months, so get it while it lasts.
They have the BEST ice cream ever... I've been going there for a good 20 years and they haven't changed one bit... Dont EVER change Rainbow PLEASE 👍😊👍 …
If you have not tried this place you have missed a Chicago Stallworth a place that's been there for 90 years and the quality has not waned one bit. This is a place to take your family and your friends and people from out of town. This place should have Landmark status and the ice cream was just simply die for. Its longevity in itself proves its high quality
My auntie treated me here for my birthday. The rainbow cone was delicious. I will most definitely be back when I am in the city.
Service was very quick on a Wednesday night. There is free parking, and it is very limited. But I didn't have a problem parking when I was there. There's also a an outdoor seating area in the back of the building with picnic benches to sit at, if you decide to stay.
I absolutely loved this place!! It was a nice day outside, so everyone was sitting on the patio, it wasn't crowded and I enjoyed my Cookies n cream on a cone.
Questionable if its really worth the wait. Slow as frozen turkey
Much smaller inside than it appears, but the wait wasn't too long. The staff was very friendly, so that was good and there is limited parking available, which is always a good perk.
Gives u so much ice cream for your money couldn't even finish it a small look like a large sugar cone was fresh and homemade try the butter pecan one of my favs can't go wrong
Good ice cream but not amazing
The best ice cream parlor! You can't go wrong on the original rainbow waffle cone. Love this place! I'm glad they are open again.
It a nice ice cream shop that been around for many years famous for the rainbow ice cream cone I think it has 5 or 6 different flavors on 🍡🍡 cone, how do you say it tast good in English 😋😃 …
Obviously Rainbow Cone is a Chicago staple. Ice cream is delicious, never a complaint in that department. I like that there is an actually-noticeable difference in sizes of cones (not cones themselves, just in the amount of ice cream you get with each size). Expect this place to always be busy, too. I wish they'd finally be able to come up with a system that works, though, from the time you order to when you get your ice cream. They call out orders as they are rung up but you see it's ultimately for no apparent reason since you always end up standing around at the "pick up" area and they ask you for your receipt and make your order from that. But they tend to take multiple receipts at once which then causes them to go out of order. So other people sometimes get their food before you do. 5 stars for ice cream but other than that the place is meh.
The young guy taking orders was very blah, disinterested and seemed bored. Given the fact that he was saying the same thing to every person in line which translates to a very mundane day I can't blame him, but that's when you gotta make it your own. The rainbow cone was different, I'm not a fan of mixed foods but the flavors surprising went well together. We went on a 90° day and the flavors inevitably blended immediately. They have seating out back under a roof so the shade was much appreciated and there's plenty of parking. A must try!
Always good food ( ice cream)
Summer has officially begun had my first rainbow cone for this year.
Great friendly staff and delicious ice cream. It is however a little pricey. I have been a customer for many years and have tasted some changes, and overall it is still a very decent product.u
Love this place! Great ice cream whether you get a rainbow or not...but why wouldn't you. Fast service and love all the old pictures on the walls.
Been going here ever since I can remember. my relatives from out of town always have to make this a stop whenever they come in. This place has a long history with my family. My grandparents went on dates here and after we lost both of them we went as a huge group to one of their favorite places.
Been the spot since i was a lil scrub in the hood!! Happy see this institution still thriving.. providing great ice cream and jobs for community kids👍🏽 …
Good ice cream, but not so good neighborhood
I've been eating there icecream since I was around 8 or 9 an I'm much older now but o can't drive past without stopping for a cone. One of my first places that I visit when in the city. Thanks for staying around for as long as you have
I have been going to rainbow for years and it's always great place to go and take you kids for some of the best old school ice cream.
Still the best ice cream cone for the summer in Chicago. Must have one before the summer season is over. Better in a cone than in a cup. One word to describe it "Delicious."
My friend took me to ORC for the first time. The ice and sherbert are so freaking good. The portions are huge too!
Same as when I was a kid!! Still great!
Staple of the city. Always good ice cream and there's always a line but they usually get people in and out pretty quickly. It has been around forever it seems and I'll continue coming here as long as I'm in Chicago. Definitely recommend!
Very good experience, great flavor on the rainbow cone any size! Be ready to wait less than 10 minutes during the evening time.... very popular and crowd place! but its worthy!
This place is amazing. It brought back childhood memories. I went with a friend this past Saturday. The large rainbow cone is delicious. I felt like a 39 year old kid. Happy customer was I.
Great place. The ice cream is amazing. The staff is very outgoing and happy. Too bad I can't rate 6 stars.
Original Rainbow staff were masked, gloved, prompt and friendly, noticeable over the counter cleanliness and organization. I sincerely enjoyed my order.
See I used to go here as a child and now that I'm an adult the childhood Nostalgia has kind of fade away. Im not sure if is this place is apart of Chicago's history or whatever the case may be but it was an enjoyable experience and I'll just probably just go back for the orange sherbet not the whole rainbow cone.
Still the best ice cream in town
Unique Experience. I tell everyone they have to try it "as is" at least once. I'd never order most of the flavors that make up a rainbow cone, but somehow together they all "work" to make a delicious and unique treat. It's a "must try" for sure!
Wow. Their ice cream is fantastic. I live at least 1 hour away. Family must go a couple of times a year or the year is just not right. Average size PINK building on Western Avenue ... can't miss it. Parking lot next to the ice cream shop is used ... and the parking is tight. So you might want to leave the semi at home and bring the VW. I can't say enough about this south Chicago tradition. These kinds of traditions are all over the Chicago area.
Ok ... the large cone is about 5 dollars ... and worth every penny. There is a medium, and a small cone for the super disciplined. They have quarts and pints. I remember the pints are about 11 dollars and some change ... pricey. They have decorated rainbow cakes that roll in at a whopping 44 bucks. WHATTTT ! They are good and have the same layering as the cones. Let see if I can remember the layering ... from top down ... orange sherbert, pistachio, butter pecan?, cherry, and chocolate. Sounds funky ... however very delicious. Worth the ride. Sorry forgot to take a polaroid.
Fast service and everything tasted great
I love the Rainbow Icecream! Don't like Chocolate but I love theirs!
Haven't been here since I was a kid. It was as delish as I remembered.
Me and my fiance went there last summer before we got engaged, one of the best dates we have had, She LOVES IT and so do i... hope to return soon, possibly as soon as today, we just had a baby so we rarely have time for ourselves but when we do one of those days we are Definitely going back to RAINBOW... Ive never had a better ice cream neither has she, it reminds us of our childhood... Just gotta love it :)
No words but AMAZING & DELICIOUS
The best ice-cream parlor in Chicago!
My family and I are big fans. We make the same purchase every weekend; 2 small RC 1 lrg RC 1 lrg CC. My concern is my 2 smalls get smaller and smaller every time I go. Is there no guideline for the measurement? You get too little or too much deepening on who’s scooping. Also please stop passing out orders with chunks ice cream falling off the cone as you quickly attempt to pass it along. Just a little quality control. Please and thank you.
I love Rainbow Cone! Came to get my usual quart of Palmer House, a pint of chocolate and a mini Rainbow Cone for the road! Friendly staff, clean and safe!
A summer staple in Chicago. If you're visiting, it is a must try.
There is nothing else like an Original Rainbow Cone with the ice cream and the sherbet. The flavors don't make sense on paper but it's a different story once you eat it.
They also have sundaes, shakes and ice cream if you're not in the mood for an original.
There is no seating inside but they have picnic tables outside.
Very unique creations. Never saw a cone like it - the rainbow. Multi flavored scoops. Very good ice cream. Has our door seating.
I went there in the rain Camila a waffle cone with three scoops of vanilla ice cream It was worth it I’ll give you two thumbs up thank you for the ice cream
I remember my aunt taking me and my sisters to Rainbow cone when we would visit her. The cones are outstanding and nothing like you would find anywhere else! The lines in the summertime can get very long, but it is definitley worth the wait! My favorite flavor is still the pistacchio. If you are in the area don't miss this gem!!
Original Rainbow Cone, that should say enough but here is some more. The store smells like how you would imagine candy land to smell like when you where a kid. Come for the ice cream, stay for the magic.
Been a customer for years and always enjoy the great quality of ice cream. Give me chocolate and pistachio!
Wonderful wonderful wonderful it's that time of the year not only summer but fall / winter to eat some good old rainbow ice cream personally it makes me think of Christmas time because Christmas is fun and ice cream is fun to eat
Always a treat. Couldn't eat inside cause restrictions. 03/28/2022
I was so amazed at how delicious this combo of ice creams can be (the infamous rainbow cone). I am not a huge ice cream lover, but this combo was definitely a unique treat….another amazing Chicago institution and destination you must try.
Have to get the original rainbow cone you won't be disappointed
Very historic Ice Cream shop with great flavors.
Absolutely my fav ice cream place. I'm literally addicted. Last week I went here at 10 am... yes I had icecream for breakfast. I'm 30 dont judge me lol
A little over priced. Seems like they got too big for their britches and think they are more valued than they should be. They need to offer more diverse sizing.
Ice cream is great! Good service
Palmer House ice cream is a great option.
Love it!!@
I remember going there as a child it was nice to come back and visit
expensive, but for the actual rainbiw cone, overrated. Also, make sure they ckean the scoop so that flavors you might be allergic to dont get mixed in your order.
Yummy! The Rainbow cones come in three sizes. The smallest is great for children or those watching their calories/carbs/sugar. The middle size is a NIIIIICE serving! The biggest size must be pretty decadent!😉 This is my 84 year old Mom. She ate her cone so fast that I couldn't even get a pic of her with it in her hand! Lol! For Summer bliss, visit RAINBOW CONE!
First time going and we took the grandchildren great service, and fast service the ice cream was delicious.
The Ice cream was amazing. Friendly staff and reasonable prices for a popular Icecream shop
The young lady was very friendly and the ice cream has been delicious since I was a little girl, nothing has changed!
Glad they are open for business. The original rainbow cone is the best! Pistachio, cherry walnut & orange sherbet taste fantastic together.
The Original Rainbow Cone is both a Chicago institution and the perfect wholesome Summer experience in the city. Plus, it doesn't hurt the rainbow cone is delicious. An absolute must for locals and tourists alike.
The quintessential Chicago ice cream cone. Still made to order and the ice cream roll is also back. Gets busy in the summer but worth the wait.
Love this place been coming here for 12-13yrs.. Staff is great and ice cream like no other.. A bit of a drive from little village but always worth it!!
Chicago icon, a must stop!!!! Rainbow cone is a flavor party
Great...not too busy at our visit time and the ice cream was excellent!
Cookie dough never have cookie dough pieces. I’m basically eating vanilla. Otherwise, customer service is good
The prices are too high for the amount of ice cream that is distributed. I was told recently that the prices are going to increase, soon. Also, there isn't a vast variety of flavors on the menu.
I' m 87 years young and was one of the cone makers for Joe. Worked for him during the summer of 1945 and it was my first job. Joe and his family are A++++ The best ice cream cones in America! George E. Scott (Polka)
I love this place it's a great experience for you an the kids
They have the best Banana splits & Ice cream ever
I travel a lil ways to get here an it's all worth the drive
I just found out that there the big Rave at the Taste of Chicago yesss they serve there too did you know that
Have fun
The ice cream was great, it's always great.
I lived in Beverly for many years where the Original Rainbow is. I had been going there for rainbow cones. It is sooo good! When I was a little girl, I remembered what the cone was 40 cents. I love Original Rainbow very much!
Great place good ice cream
Everything is so delicious here I'm coming back to bring my child up here ice cream is so delicious
Always the place I stop whenever I come home for a visit. The rainbow cone is delicious and has been for a long time. Eventhough their parking is a challenge after you finally get inside and get you come all will be forgotten.
Still a nice treat! Albeit this time of a pandemic...safe distance is exercised, but the ice cream and service is still as good as I remember!
Got the rainbow cone. Was impressed with the different ice creams. Thought I was going to get the ice cream version of rainbow sherbet. Pleasantly surprised.
If you love good ice cream with a great smile great staff then what are you waiting for.. Chicago at its best👍🏿 …
Delicious rainbow icecream, more like a cafeteria style service. Make sure you browse the online menu before you go its pretty fast paced service.
Really good service really good ice cream and been going since I was little room my son loved it!
Been going to rainbow cone for 20 years and they've upheld their high quality of service and are even open throughout the year, there's outside dining available as well as parking. Known for their signature rainbow cone
Went here once and the ice cream was delicious! Loved it. If you happen to be driving by, get some if you are realy craving some ice cream!
Ice cream and service was good, thank you for keeping a quality product! It was delicious and worth my drive to get it! ❤
A childhood memory and a family favorite.
They have the best ice cream on the South side of Chicago. I had a small black walnut and my best friend had a rainbow ice cream on a waffle cone.
Amazing ice cream
Fast service! Good ice cream.
Good icecream/ sherbert it was good but the cone size got a lot smaller than i remember and the price got a lot bigger 13.00 for 2 large cones that i feel should of been a medium size
Love the flavor of the layers of icecream or you can get any one flavor on a sugar cone or waffle cone.
Nostalgic..been coming here for decades..same flavor great ice cream and cakes..always friendly
We've been going here for years and the ice cream and service is as great as it always has been. We only go for the rainbow cones and they are the best!
Their ice cream is legendary it’s super good they have a lot of flavors and selections
I tried the original rainbow cone, prices are a bit high but it was well worth every penny. It was really good going to try different flavors next time so I am Definetly going back.
Now that's some good ice cream...
🍦
My wife & I love this place. Great service team that work together to get the line moving. Keep up the good work. …
Always a treat, just wish they would give more chacolate ice cream. They give less of it, that must be because it cost the most to make. But overall great.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Still good. They need to hire better help like chick FIL a.
The ice cream was delicious 😋, but customer service 👎🏼 …
You must take your whole family here and hold up a tradition for a lifetime , the best ice cream on the planet . Unforgettable visits here since the early 90s
Great place to cool off. Friendly staff and great ice cream.
Rainbow cone is one of the true "Chicago" ice creams you don't find elsewhere. I always take family here from out of town. You gotta get the actual rainbow cone, and bring a quart home for when you want it again later...
A summer tradition! My mom is from Beverly, along with many of my cousins. I grew up around 82nd & Lawndale, I know live in St John Indiana. I still go back there & bring my family for a Rainbow cone!!!
Excellent ice cream. I had butter pecan, which actually had whole pecans in it. I also had pistachio ice cream with whole pistachio nuts in it too. Other ice creams only have small pieces of nuts in it.
A staple on the south side of the Chicago! This seasonal ice cream parlor has some really great options! They are rather proficient with getting everyone in and out on those hot summer days...
I have a pistachio allergy and they are so accommodating every time I stop in. This is our summer time favorite ice cream place.
This place is a Chicago MUST! Old school ice cream shop with amazing quality and flavors. It's a little pricey, but well worth it!
Worth a 40 mile drive..still tastes the same as I remember from 20 years ago. The only place I know that has real black walnut ice cream.
Even when the lines are long, they get you in and out pretty quickly! Plus the ice cream is still some of the best stuff in Chicago!
Ice cream is always good here. Service is also good!
One of my favorites!
Ordered on line & everything was awesome! Great service too!!
Absolutely delicious ice cream! It really caters to my addictive nature, most definitely keep me coming back for more!
The original . Cones, cakes, logs all delicious
Really friendly staff and delicious Ice cream! Good music too on the speakers
One of my favorite places in chicago!
The best icecream in the Chicago area my kids loved it to. I try to go there every year. You go there once and you will go nowhere else for icecream 😁😁 …
Great ice cream. Fast service. be prepared to wait a little as it is popular. but they handle the crowds well.
Great ice cream. I had a cone and my husband had a banana split. We shared them with our babygirl.
My dad would take his girls here EVERY Friday in the summer.
I love their ice cream! Especially the Palmers House and wild berry sorbet!
Still taste great. I got the pint and they give you cones to make yourself, how classy is that!
THIS PARTICULAR TIME I WENT THEY WERE OUT OF, MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. BUT THE SERVICE IS ALWAYS GOOD.
It was an amazing time, wonderful customer service. awesome ice cream fun with the family definitely somewhere you need to visit when you come to Chicago, Evergreen Park
Spent special coupons on double scoops. Good creamy taste.
Big smile for a perfect cone!!
My family and I really enjoy Rainbow cone
The coolest Ice cream every. I would take my son when he a very small boy. I miss this place. Professional, fast and friendly.
Haven't been there in over 50 years. Tastes just the same-- great!
What's not to love about a giant ice cream cone with multiple flavors all wonderful on their own but when they swirl together it's heaven in a cone.
I had the original rainbow cone today. What a delicious flavorful ice cream cone. I liked the pistachio flavor with nuts.
It is a wonderful experience the taste of the ice cream is very unique and creamy very good I'll have to come back again
Rainbow cone was absolutely delicious. A little expensive, but worth it! Service was good. Indoor and outdoor enviorment was great. Couldn't recommend more!
I would recommend going there a Rainbow cone tends to ba around $5 but they pack the cones the ice cream is good and its a nice thing to do with your family
Delicious! They look out for people with allergies.
A must stop spot during the summer or on any day for that matter. If you like or even love ice cream you have to try their signature combination.
I would definitely suggest the rainbow cone the other flavors are not as good and definitely not worth the $$
Delicious. Next time I will get a small. Especially on a hot day. Large is too big and hard to keep up with as it melts over your hands.
You either rainbow cone or you don't. It's simple. People drive from across the city and im sure further to come here. It's not just a stop, rainbow cone is a destination for ice cream.
Ice cream is delicious. Get the rainbow cone its different and GOOD!
You will love the simple handpacked deliciousness of this iconic south side place. Nice shaded area outside, too. Not to be missed!
, some of the best ice cream and had anywhere sometimes there's a line but it's worth the line going enjoy
I don't know what I could say about Rainbow Cone that hasn't already been said. It is all the happiness and innocence of childhood in an ice cream cone. Everyone should try the original rainbow cone!
Their ice cream is AMAZING GOOD!!! Decent customer service. But their portion sizes seemed to have decreased.
I cant believe I've never been here before!! Odd combination of flavors on the layered cone,..but IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY ❤ If you've never been, you MUST!!
Can't say it was the best ice cream I've ever had, but it was a nice treat.
Rainbow Cone is a quintessential Chicago experience and was one of the first places we stop when we come back to town.
Unique experience. A must visit in Beverly
Excellent service rainbow cone is always delicious
Too expensive and the pistachio ice cream is filled with almonds! That's cheating. Won't be going back. $12 for 2 cones. That's way over my budget.
Got the original rainbow cone. Really good
It was very busy, but line moved fast. Ice cream was very good.
A Chicago Food gem for dessert. A bucket list must for anyone. A #SummerTimeChi Favorite for my Wife and me.
One the best since I was a little kid!
I love this place it's amazing and the ice-cream is delicious
Love going here in the summer! it’s great! Awesome ice cream by the way
Excellent service delicious ice cream short wait time sure to cool you off on a hot summer day or night
It's been the place for ice cream for many years. People come from all over for there ice cream. You won't get ice cream like this anywhere. They also do cakes.
I love this place. Brings back memories of my childhood. The ice cream still tastes amazing.
The ice speaks for itself! Good service as well. As good as I remember from 20+ years ago.
Loved the ice cream and the laid back nature of this place! Highly recommend for couples or families to get some ice cream
Lines are long nut they do move fast. Area is clean....patking is sufficient....you can eat outside as family.....banana split was delicious
Love this place. Their famous Rainbow recipe is now available as a roll icecream cake! Loved it!
My mother told me about the Original Rainbow Cone ice cream shop five years ago. I fell in love with the ice cream at this ice cream shop, so much so until I will only eat ice cream from this ice cream shop...
Love it☺️
About as close to time travel you can get! Efficient staff deals with crowds through a system that ensures everyone gets a delicious cone as fast as possible.
Love this place! Always great service and delicious ice cream ☺️ definitely a must do!
Such wonderful childhood memories coming here, LOVE the rainbow ice cream - took 2 quarts home with us
A South Side treasure. It has been 30 years since I last had a Rainbow Cone and I have to say that they are still just as good as I remember
Really great ice cream juts that there is normally a line of around 5-10 minutes but it's worth the wait.
Best ice cream in town, original old school taste. Recommended, for fun after dinner snack.
A must try! Love the rainbow cone, especially the pistachio and palmer house ones.
Try it for the first time and had to go back a second to check if all that goodness was true, the black walnut, peanut butter and butter pecan mix is a dream come true
Brought back fond memories The sherbet is still wonderful. Staff polite . Parking lot small lots of room across the street
This is a community jewel....a Beverly tradition and a lot of smiling faces. The cones are priced with compeitors but the product is unique. A must try if you in the area.
Delicious, historical ice cream parlor. If you're visiting the Chicago area, you owe it to yourself to try out the original rainbow cone!
Didn't disappoint! Brings me back to my childhood.
Love ❤️ to take my granddaughters here.
Very over priced. I get 2 a year. It's a local fav. It's good to try it if you never had one
Iconic establishment that draws a loyal crowd. Kinda pricy for ice cream but it's so yummy I get it any way.
Ice cream cone it's kind of pricey but it is worth it , it's mmm mmm good
Awesome Ice Cream with it's own unique blend of flavors!
Awesome ice cream. I usually don't stray from my few favorite flavors, but I love the rainbow cone!
I love rainbow cone. However the service and disorganization have stopped me from going on a few ocassions. They need to pay attention to these details as it ruins the experience.
Love love love this place! Great ice cream. Great service
Fast, quick service courtesy and reasonable price.
