When I say this is a Diamond in the rough. The food is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared. I love the service at the place Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and I say this because people know I’m a picky eater and I can’t eat everyone food. I highly recommend this place. Also the homemade ice cream is omg! Please show this place some love, because their food show my stomach some love. You definitely have a customer.

This place is amazing! Went there today 10/9/22. Homemade ice cream is great and they have a variety of flavors. Lemon ice box was my fav, but try them all because they are worth it. They also have great Italian ice in a variety of flavors. Every staff member was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Ended up staying a few minutes after getting my order to just talk to a couple of the employees. The manager is a super nice guy as well! Try them out, you will not be disappointed! I will be back to try the food next.

Went there as a recommendation of a friend...the behind the counter person was so genuinely welcoming! They are very gracious with letting customers sample...banana pudding ice cream lived up to the hype! However, I had read the menu and spotted the liquor infused ice cream, so that's what I asked for! He summoned another person from the back, who gave me a sample, and I wanted more! I thoroughly enjoyed the OJ and gin ice cream for grown folks ONLY! Kids: do NOT try this at home! LoL! Since it is kept in the back, it reminds me of an ice cream 'speakeasy'! I don't recommend consuming the whole point at one time! I will return for this yummy grown folks treat!

My first experience with Richard's Super Premium Ice Cream was about 10 to 12 years ago when he brought his rolling store to Shreveport, LA. I have never had any ice cream as good as his and today I got my favorite sweet potato pie, and tropical paradise flavor ice cream. It taste just like I remember. The Chicago dog was Great as well.

I love Richards. The food is delicious and they have a nice variety to choose from. The soul food sides are awesome as well as their sandwiches. The ice cream is surprisingly delicious too. Peach Cobbler and Pineapple Vodka are my favorites. Take a moment and treat yourself. Highly Recommended 😃

Holy moly. Hoooooly moly. The ice cream here is truly super premium. My favorite was the strawberry shortcake, the lemon ice box, orange creamsicle, and the tropical paradise. They even have pineapple and peach vodka ciroc! The folks who work here and the manager is super welcoming, nice, and genuine. Tucked away in the Pullman district, the place is really a treasure when you come across it. Thank you guys so much!

Staff was great. It was our first time there and they provided samples and information for options not on the menu outside. Pricey but worth it. Had ice cream and popcorn. Cannot speak to the regular food items. Ice cream was amazing! Unique flavors.

Richards ice cream and soul food makes me proud to be on the south side of Chicago. I mean, where else?? Where else can you get soul food like smothered fried pork chops and peach cobbler ice cream? Richards second location when it gets built that’s where! I love the food. Great customer service!!I tried the strawberry shortcake it's very tasty.It has real strawberries in it and pieces of cake. The pecan ice cream is good as well. Also the greens and sweet potatoes are good.

I have visited Richard's four times now and each time I have been thoroughly satisfied!!!!!! My favorite are the chicken wings and I swear somebody's grandma is in there frying them. These chicken wings are not like the wings you get from those other places....these literally taste like you made them in your own kitchen. Seasoned just right, you definitely won't need any sauces or dips! As for the ice cream...BANANA PUDDING!!! That is all I need to say! Well wait...DELICIOUS, RICH, and CREAMY!! Ok now I have said it all. And if bananas aren't your thing that Strawberry Cheesecake whew lawd. Good food, good dessert and now the service. Most definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ everyone that I have encountered has been beyond great. Friendly, personable and welcoming. I would definitely recommend and continue to support Richard's! Richard’s is a true hidden gem in Chicago. The manager, Leonard, was one of the kindest restaurant workers we’ve dealt with. He let us try several flavors to help us make the right choice. Any choice would’ve seemed like the right one. Everything we sampled was great. But my personal favorite was the pineapple vodka ice cream.

Honestly some of the most unique ice cream decisions ever tried and they are all great that I've tried. They taste just like the dessert they are named after. from peach cobbler to banana pudding and more. definitely recommend to try at least one and you'll be sold for the rest on your own.

I thought I asked for banana ice cream but instead got banana pudding bread ice cream; My fault. There is no banana ice cream on the menu. The banana pudding ice cream was tasty but I did not like the chunks of bread. Hot dogs are tasty but the hot dog skin is tough. No inside dining; you must wait in your car for your order. The location is a bit isolated. Very nice staff

Richard's is tucked away on a quiet industrial street in Pullman, and it is well worth the visit! Service is curbside, and we were offered a selection of samples when we arrived, and everything was delicious. Pineapple vodka is our favorite flavor so far, but we'll be back!

I've been to Richard's twice. I ordered a turkey sandwich. The sandwich was chill, lettuce was crisp. Reminded me of the sandwiches my grandmother used to make. Customer service on point. I'll update as I order more items from the menu. Right now the sandwiches are my thing.

I thought I'd never see the day when I'd pay $12 for a pint of ice cream before. Before now. Although I requested a pint of sweet potato flavor and a pint of banana pudding, I was charged for a banana pudding and a lemon ice box cookie. To add insult to my injury, upon consumption of my little treat, I couldn't distinguish one from the other. Everything tasted like lemon. Aside from that, it was a tasty little indulgence. I almost ordered a third pint, but they didn't have any coconut - pineapple flavor. It will probably be a hot day in summer before I go back. But don't take my word, try it out for yourself. This stuff will most definitely undermine all efforts to drop some excess weight.

We stopped by Richard’s for a quick bite of food and some ice cream. We rang the doorbell and Leonard came out to great us and guided us through ordering online to get a discount (and he could have taken our order if we did not have smart phones). Leonard brought out several samples of the ice cream, and they were all amazing! You have to come try these flavors! My favorites were the Sweet Potato Pie and the Strawberry Cheesecake. I had a chili dog and the chili is so flavorful and yummy! (It’s Richard’s family recipe!) My husband’s double cheeseburger was huge and delicious. We are definitely coming back for more the next time we are nearby! Thanks for a great meal and the pints that we will enjoy at home! Leonard was so hospitable and friendly. We ate on our picnic blanket on the grass, but hopefully next spring/summer, they will have a patio with some tables to enjoy. =)

We stopped by Richard’s after visiting the Pullman museum, and it’s truly a hidden gem! Leonard was very welcoming and went above and beyond to give us lots of samples of ice cream and the pumpkin spice caramel corn. We liked them all so much, it was hard to decide! We ended up choosing Lemon Ice Box Pie and Apple Pie a La Mode - they were delicious! Highly recommend stopping in for great food and excellent customer service - thank you Leonard!

This place is amaaaazing!!They have so many delicious flavors of ice cream it's hard to choose just one. The sweet potato pie ice cream is by far my favorite! It taste like grandma made a sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving and turned it into ice cream. The customer service was amazing We were able to sample some of the most popular flavors. I can't recommend this ice cream place enough - worth the drive from wherever you are. The manager Leonard offered us so many samples and it was so hard to choose what flavor to get because everything was good. I would especially recommend Tropical Paradise, Pineapple Vodka Ciroc, Creamsicle, among many other delicious flavors. They have popcorn and other stuff too - I tried their salt vinegar cheddar and it was delicious. Definitely come here and support this super lovely local business!!!

We were greeted by such a friendly man who brought us samples and explained everything to us while we tasted them. I ended up with a pint of Lemon ice box and am very happy with it! A pint serves two, in my opinion, so it ends up being $6 a person which is comparable to most ice cream places. definitely recommend!

They were very nice and were very accommodating because it was our first time there. The hostess gave us samples of all of their most popular flavors and we were able to decide without question, although all of their ice cream‘s were delicious. Richard’s ice cream is delicious and worth every penny! A friend turned me on to this spot about a month ago, and I am addicted. It will be the only ice cream in my freezer from now on. Nothing else compares after tasting this. I have tried 6 different flavors so far and they are all delicious! Strawberry Cheesecake and Peach Cobbler are probably my favorites (and I don’t even normally like cheesecake), but you seriously cannot go wrong! Local, black owned, amazing customer service, and COVID safe. Wins all around!

The ice shop is attached to an ice cream factory - black owned establishment. I ordered this on a whim via Door Dash. Didn't realize I was stumbling upon a hidden gem! Got the Butter Pecan and the Cookie Dough thinking I was ordering something basic. This ice cream took me to another level; nothing basic about it! So fresh and creamy, I almost finished the container in one sitting! Really feel that they use high quality ingredients and put a little love in each pint of ice cream. I recently happened to stumble across Richard's online and thought I'd give them a try to compare to another popular south side ice cream I frequent. I am so glad I took the time to try it. It is SOOOOOO good. I'm sure the banana pudding is a fan favorite ( it's very yummy), but I think the sweet potatoes pie flavor has stolen my heart....its the BEST. This is definitely PREMIUM GOURMET ice cream. On top of all the flavor, customer service was exceptional. They are tucked away, but definitely worth the trip.

If I could rate the ice cream a 10 plus then I would! So far I have tried the Vanilla, Tropical Paradise, Mango, Creamsicle and Blueberry. ALL ARE MY FAVORITE!!! Mango and Blueberry taste like fresh fruit was infused in the ice cream. Only known about this place for two weeks and have dreams about it!! Ok, this will be the first time that I write a review before eating my food. Just based on the customer service alone I am a fan of this place. This was my first time visiting Richard's Super Premium Ice Cream and I have to say in my Oprah voice that, "I... LOVE... KEY... LIME!" They let you try samples of their best selling ice cream and all the flavors are delicious but that key lime is killer. Come one come all my key lime lovers and get this ice cream! Worth the trip from Indiana for the banana pudding ice cream. It was so good we ate half the pint in the parking lot before we could even pull off. Kids loved the mango, peach and strawberry cheesecake flavors too. The customer service was even better than the ice cream.

Although this is off in the cut (down the street from the police station on 111th) bay bee 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 When I tell you this ice cream is so authentically delicious - sampled the banana pudding, key lime, apple pecan, sweet potato, pineapple vodka and vanilla fudge (yes I was a total fatty) - everything tasted EXACTLY like the food - nothing artificial, watered down or just plain nasty. We bought the banana pudding, apple pecan and pineapple vodka plus 2 bags of salt and vinegar cheddar popcorn (amazing as well) They sell food, not just ice cream, and although we didn’t buy any food i just know with ice cream as delicious as that I know the food gotta be slamming! Leonard was an absolute sweetheart - very patient, knowledgeable and funny. Please visit and support this gem of a business- my family and I will definitely be back!

Highly recommend the Ice cream from Richard's. This was my second time getting the Banana Pudding Ice Cream pint, it's so good~~ Leonard's recommendation to try the Lemon Ice Box flavor was also on point! Lemon flavor was Super tangy, and had great texture from the vanilla wafers. I will be back to try more flavors, and pick up more banana pudding/lemon :D.

Wow! We’ve been wanting to try this for a while and finally got around to it. Whew! Wish we had done it sooner! We ended up with a pint of banana pudding and a pint of caramel smash. However…pineapple ciroc, tropical paradise (delicious!), and the lemon are amazing also. So many flavor options and their food is also really good! Leonard is very personable and passionate about Richard’s! We’ll be back soon!

I just got 3 pints of ice cream from Richards and I'd honestly say it's some of the best ice cream I ever had. The sweet potato pie ice cream reminded me of my mom's sweet potato pies. What's even more impressive is the customer service. The manager personally delivered my ice cream to bronzeville for me to try. The go above and beyond. I definitely recommend this business.

Ok, Richard’s banana pudding ice cream might literally be the best ice cream I’ve ever had!!! I can’t wait to try their other flavors!!!!! I ordered the soul food dinner and was pleasantly surprised at how yummy everything was. The smothered chicken were large pieces and seasoned to perfection. My family loves dressing and their dressing was tasty and was made with turkey meat. A rarely like yams from restaurants, but these yams were delicious. Even the cornbread muffin was good. I definitely recommend their soul food dinners and it was affordable too! THE WINGS ARE A WINNER TOO!

OMG!! My husband works near the establishment and during a sugar craving he suggested it to me. I am SO glad he did. We called while trying to navigate delivery and the staff member, Leonard, went above and beyond! He answered all of our random questions regarding flavors and was so awesome that we decided just to go in person and pick the ice cream up ourselves. We arrived and were greeted by him and he continued to be amazing and gave us some sample tastings after learning it was my first time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this establishment. EVERYTHING I tasted was amazing. My favs include : peach vodka, lemon ice box, tropical surprise, peach cobbler and key lime. The location is located in an industrial area so don't be off put - you are at the correct address. Leonard was AMAZING and three cars pulled up Shortly after us for service. The actual experience was amazing...but let us discuss the icecream. I will say that I have not had a you must have made this specifically for me moment with food in a long time. The hands must be annointed the way the icecream blessed my life!!! I purchased the Banana Pudding and Strawberry Cheesecake. The Banana Pudding had the perfect amount of cookie, pudding, icecream ratio balance. The taste of the Strawberry Cheesecake had me regretting that I didn't buy more once looking at the empty container. The cheesecake pieces were delicious blended with the strawberry and icecream pulled all the flavors in. You will not be disappointed with either of these flavors. Going back soon perhaps today. Side Note:Don't be like me and forget to take a picture before eating cause "Aint no stopping me now" definitely was the vibe after the first taste. ☺

We had a delicious full course meal with dessert on the side. I went to Richard’s for the first time on 14APR21 on the recommendation of my sister. I was greeted by a gentleman named Lenard who was more than hospitable. I was unaware that they offered samples, and Lenard made sure to enlighten me. My date and me sampled a few different ice creams: all of which were spectacular in both texture and taste. He then brought out addition samples that were some of his favorite and some which were commonly bought. I sincerely appreciated his knowledgeability of their selections. Finally, he offered my date and me an opportunity to park near the store where he served us additional samples. Not ONE ice cream was a weak point as they were all top notch. It was truly a pleasure to eat here, and I will absolutely be returning.
