Super adorable ice cream shop, with variety of unique ice cream flavors. It is in the pricey side, for two one scoop ice cream cones was about $20 dollars. We tried the blue corn waffle cone with coconut flavored ice cream & the red velvet with strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was a hit and miss. The cones were flavorless and the coconut ice cream was lacking coconut flavor. Our favorite was the strawberry cheesecake flavored. The ice cream shop does have limited seating space. We were lucky since usually when we pass by the line is long! It was worth a try.

An interesting ice cream shop. I had the pineapple swirl and thought it was good. Paid a little over $8 so it can get pricey. A nice amount of options to choose from the menu and a polite staff. If your in town, give it a try. Hopefully their isn't a line when you come by!

Great ice cream shop that has a fun assortment of flavors like lychee, black and white sesame, taro, and milk tea. They also have fun-flavored cones and serve milk tea. While I'm still unclear as to why they have a Care Bears theme, I appreciated trying all the desserts. The only reason why it's not five stars is because they gave VERY small tasting samples and the service staff were not very friendly.

Delicious ice cream (I’ve tried the ginger soft ice cream, with mini mochi toppings) and the Dalgona with tapioca coffee. The service is friendly and efficient, the decor is very cute! I will definitely come back to try their other flavours and toppings!

Super cute, delicious ice cream shop. Small sized with limited dine in place, it serves variety of ice cream flavours. It's crowded most of the time, sometimes there is wait line before entering this place but the staff manages to provide quick service to everyone. Warm and friendly staff.

The place has a cute decor and interesting ice cream options but they keep changing the flavors so you might be out of luck if you don’t want to try new flavors. Only a couple standard flavors are available. They don’t give out samples too so you will have to just go by colors of the ice cream and pick one.

Amazing ice cream! I got the matcha and lychee and it was such a great experience. The ice cream was super creamy and not too sweet. I recommend getting the mini mochi as an extra, it adds a lovely chewiness. The place is also quite adorable, although unfortunately there is no customer bathroom available.

Looked up "dessert" in yelp in the chicago area and this place popped up! They're a LOCAL ICE CREAM SHOP, small-sized with no dine-in available just yet. Their flavors are quite unique, with the asian touch, such as thai tea, lychee, matcha, purple yam, and pandan! If you wanna go bougie, go try their gold/solver leaf scoops! I absolutely loved it and would def come back again to try their other flavors. They also have boba and drinks available as well! Flavors we tried: - Thai Tea with Regular Cone - Matcha Matcha and Purple Yam in Cup - Lychee Pearl and Matcha Matcha in Charcoal Cone - Lavendar Rose Water in Red Cone

Ok, now I am in love, ai had never had Black sesame ice cream and I need to say is my new fave... the expresso needed a bit of a buster and I didn't care for the orange flavored cone, next time I would try the matcha one.

The photo isn’t slanted, the ice cream was dispensed on the side. I personally have a bias towards soft serve ice cream, so I enjoyed it. The swirl was half Thai iced tea and half Hokkaido milk. Thai ice tea had some tea flavor, but gave a lingering dry mouth feeling. Hokkaido milk tasted like an elevated vanilla ice cream. This place has unique flavors. It was very pricey for the amount of ice cream you get. You’re paying for the looks and unique flavors.

I’m embarrassed to say how often I visit Kurimu but it is truly my FAVORITE place to get ice cream, not just in Chicago but everywhere. It’s the perfect soft serve. And the flavors rotate monthly-ish and are always always amazing combinations.

Probably better for the gram than for the belly, but still a really cool spot. Black sesame ube swirl was so good. Tasty, sweet, and definitely aesthetic. Long line unfortunately!

Some of their special flavors are a hit or miss, but it's definitely exciting to come in and visit each time something new comes out. My personal favorites are their Thai tea, harajuku strawberry, and matcha. Would recommend getting the special cones too, very crisp and you can definitely taste the flavor. Price makes sense. While it is expensive, it isn't a chain creamery. You get your money's worth with unique flavors, cute pictures, and of course, the ice cream shovel haha Never had an extremely long wait, always reasonable. Staff is generally kind too. This place is definitely a novelty when it comes to ice cream, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to try new flavors or have cute pictures. Only gripe with this place is that I'd wish they'd offer more vegan options in the future!

Cute ice cream spot but on the pricey side. I had the Grumpy Ramune messy soft serve boba, it was soo good. If you are a soft serve fan, definitely try the messy boba, the caramelized boba is soo good.

Great ice cream flavors to choose from! Definitely want to try the black sesame and thai iced tea flavors next time. The Snow Mango Tea had actual tea flavors included, so the drink wasn't too sweet. I would recommend asking for an extra cup and spoon if you decide to get a cone.

Hands down one of the best dessert spot in Chicago! 💜🤍 If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go. Delicious and Sweet! We’ve got the messy boba swirl 🍦 which is soft serve+ fresh boba + brown sugar syrup) the soft serve flavours were taro and hojicha and they were sooooooo good, Loved it! Perfect treat for this hot weekend. Service was good too! I Highly recommend it! Yum yum! 🤤

Great soft serve! I tried the Kurimu soft serve which was quite nice, had a hint of melon and something else I can't quite place. (A tad bit expensive but the flavours of the ice cream seem quite exciting!) Bought a pint of the lychee pearl to go as well! The servers were also super nice!!

Only recently went here on a whim, and I'm so very glad we did! Its such a cool shop, and their ice cream is really great. Flavors are a bit unconventional, which I loved. I got scoops of purple yam and oreo, and chocolate supreme, in the black cone. I thought the purple yam would be the star but it was actually the chocolate for me. So rich! Indoor restroom is currently not accessible, must have a mask for entry, no indoor seating yet, street parking only.

I loved Kurimu at my first visit and it has yet to fail me. The soft serve is very clever with the changing flavors and option for boba topping. The rest of their homemade ice-cream competes with diverse flavors you can’t find at traditional stores; from lychee to green tea to coffee, every flavor is strong enough to keep your palette wanting for the next bite. It’s a bit pricier than your traditional ice cream cone, but it’s original and can’t be beat. The service has also been great every time and very helpful with flavor selection! One of my favorite local joints and I love bringing out-of-state guests to try it.

I used to live a block away from Taylor street, and I’ve seen this shop change so many times over the years before Kurimu made its home there. And I’ve got to say: I’m glad that it’s there to stay because I stop by every time I’m in the area! -My recommendation is that you cannot go wrong with the taro soft serve and/or the melon bun with a scoop of purple yam! -The price seems a bit higher at first, but the quality is more than worth it in my book!

I got the Messy Boba (soft serve + brown sugar syrup + fresh boba) and soft serve flavors were Hokkaido Strawberry and Melona Melon. Amazing! My husband got Taro/Purple Yam and Oreo from the ice cream buckets. Both were great but from now on I’m getting the soft serve only because the texture is amazing and the flavors are so unique! And I’ll add boba because it is the perfect partner to the ice cream! I thought the brown sugar syrup was a good but unnecessary when it’s already an expensive treat.

Very cute place! The ice cream is beautifully prepared and the drinks are great (not overly sweet). Very reasonable priced! Due to social distancing, they’re letting about three people in at a time to order, so there’s a line outside (not very long depending on the time of day) and they’ll bring you your order. I highly recommend!! ❤️

Soft serve was delicious and was enough for two! My boyfriend got the ice cream sandwich as well, and the bun texture was perfect. When we came in, it looked a bit busy with just two workers but they handled it well and were very nice! It was our first time here and they politely answered all of our questions about the different flavors.

My wife has been begging to go here for months, so we finally took the drive. She was completely in love with the aesthetics and she enjoyed the ice cream. The ice cream was, just ok to me, it seemed really rich in flavor which isn’t always the best as I couldn’t finish mine. I had the red velvet waffle cone. Not something to get all the time but certainly a destination spot worth a try!

Texture of the ice cream is on point and I loved all the flavors here. They are very unique. The standout is definitely the melon bun + ice cream. They warm the bun and add the scoop in the middle. I would come back again in a heart beat!

Soft serve with a twist...and boba! Great soft serve flavors that rotate out, ice cream by the scoop, milk teas and ice cream pints to go. They have several fun cone flavors and you can even get your ice cream scooped into a melon bread as an alternative to the traditional ice cream sandwich. Especially loved the Messy Boba option with brown sugar syrup and boba added!

I’ve seen pictures of this place on IG and made it a point to stop by the next time I was in the area and it did not disappoint!! I normally am not a fan of matcha (it’s just ok) but I decided to get a soft serve twist cone with matcha and black sesame and holy cow was it good! Like really good. It seemed to melt pretty fast even though it was cold outside which forced me to eat it quickly. I also got a black sugar boba latte and it was also very delicious!! It tastes just like those brown sugar ice cream bars you can pick up at the Asian supermarket, I couldn’t really taste the coffee though but it was still creamy and full of awesomeness! The staff there was also very friendly and helpful. I am definitely coming back and getting both, but this time a whole matcha cone!

Amazing!! Love the rotation of fun flavors for the two soft serve. All their ice cream is so nice and rich. Great flavors! The staff is nice and the wait is worth it. The collaboration with Aya Pastry was a fantastic idea and a lovely experience. I had the White Rabbit and Earl Grey soft serve swirl with boba and cream puff while my fiancé had the samoas pastry, topped with purple yam ice cream and chocolate shell. Superb! So sad this collab is over in a few days! Looking forward to future flavors and collabs.

Delicious soft serve and ice cream. A bit on the pricier side. I do wish they had more soft serve flavors. The image was a steep 15 bucks. Most likely will come back when in the area. This place has only a few of your usual flavors for ice cream, which is nice to try out unique ones.

This is one of the best places around Little Italy for good ice cream. They have different flavors and rotating swirl icecream. They also have messy boba, and bobas are fresh and yumm. Worth a visit and must try place. I love this place!

Taylor street is getting an uplift with hip new trendy Asian inspired dessert places. We stumbled on this place and decided we had to try it. We were thoroughly pleased. They have a variety of unique flavors and common flavors to accommodate all. You could also get gold or silver foil on your ice cream for Instagram pics. Seemed like a gimmick to me, so we passed. I recommend the messy boba, you can get whatever flavor they have for their soft serve, boba, and a brown sugar drizzle. It was so good. I will definitely be back to try more flavors. The place is pretty small and I could see this place getting crowded during the warmer months. Take note that they only open at 3pm!

Been here twice so far. Went there when they had the boba milk tea soft serve which was delicious! Went back again for the strawberry and milk candy soft serve. It was okay, not too much flavor. I hope they bring back the milk tea flavor!

The Boba Black Milk Tea with caramelized sugar is delicious. We got one, drove around and went back and got another round! The tiramisu ice cream is really good too. It has soaked ladyfingers laced through the coffee ice cream, perfection!

One of the most unique and delicious ice cream shops in Chicago. The soft serve was outstanding and the brown sugar milk tea was extremely well executed (temp, flavor, presentation, toppings were all 10/10). If you find yourself strolling through Little Italy, make sure to stop here!

Kurimu really sets itself apart with inventive flavors for both the ice cream and its vehicle, whether that be a cone (in matcha, lavender, midnight vanilla and more flavors) or paired with a cream puff or pastry. The ice cream is a bit pricey, but definitely comparable to other gourmet ice cream shops in the city.

I had a Hokkaido soft serve ice cream and it was tasty! My son had swirl with Brazilian passion fruit and boba. It was interesting mix with Hokkaido milk ice cream, passion fruit and boba. Personally I enjoyed my Hokkaido ice cream just by itself. Oh! Their spoon was so cute, shape of shovel!

We really enjoyed our experience here. Got a few different flavors to try and all of them tasted very real. Ice cream wasn't super premium, some were a little icy and others were gummy but the flavors were great. Ice cream was pricey but worth it.

I wish it was more guests friendly. maybe some tables outside or areas for customers since you can't be inside, by the time I walked to my car the ice-cream melted all over the place, not enjoyable . also I had to walk back to my car since I couldn't enter without a mask, I ask them for one and they had them but I would had to purchase them . I spent 25$ for 2 ice-creams I think they could've offer a free one. not worth of going back .

Hey, this place was pretty good! Now that bubble tea has gotten really mainstream, we need to add some inventive ice cream flavors to the mix. At Kurimu, I tried the purple yam and the brewed hojicha (tea) ice cream. Both were delicious. The purple yam was starkly cobalt purple in color and tasted like your usual taro bubble tea. The hojicha tasted like freshly brewed tea - subtly and pleasantly tannic. They also offer matcha ice cream, which the hojicha should not be confused for - though both tea-like, they are very different flavors. My husband and I each got two scoops of ice cream in a Care Bear adorned plastic cup. They give you an upside-down waffle cone with your scoops, so you can enjoy the best of both cup and cone. Our order cost us about $15 total, but I think you can save about a dollar if you pay in cash. So overall not the cheapest ice cream place around, but not too bad for dessert in the area. A good opportunity to mix things up a bit. We went on a Monday night, so crowds were not an issue.

Kurimu on Taylor St. Is a great location which can sometimes get lines. Their drinks taste good but for the price I expected a larger portion. There's also only one size. Overall good experience but wish there were bigger drinks and that the dine-in section was open so we could take pictures in front of their neon sign.

Just came in with my wife and 20 month old son. I ordered a soft serve swirl on a cone. On my way out I accidentally dropped my cone(completely my fault). Without hesitation, they gave me a brand new one. I love this business in our neighborhood. We need more businesses like this one. The people in there are literally always the nicest most genuine people. Not to Mention the ice cream is delicious!

KURIMU has an awesome customer service structure built into the establishment. As we were in line, an employee came out from behind the counter and took care of handing out any samples we wanted to try. He took care of us all the way until check out. They have 3 vegan options available and I decided to go for the Roasted Strawberry Coconut. The ice cream was good but I wouldn't go as far as say it's amazing.

i got the messy boba swirl ice cream and it was good! it’s very similar to the boba ice creams you would get in the asian grocery stores. nothing too special about the boba it came with though (a little hard, not sweetened), but the brown sugar made up for it. also, the pineapple flavor reminds me of dole whip.

Ice creams are good, service is horrible. They go back and forth every time to get a new scoop for a new flavor and to get container to hold the ice cream. It’s just not a good idea to place the scoop in the back and the ice creams are in the front. The staff are not athletes and their moving is not fast enough to handle a bunch of orders in a short time. It took me 30 mins to get the ice cream and there were just abt 5 customers.

Very friendly staff! Delicious and interesting flavors for ice cream. My favorite is the Purple Yam! The ice cream stays creamy even after a week in the freezer. Thaw time for being scoop-able is short (maybe 10 minutes at room temperature). Their cones are a great in itself. Lightly sweet so it doesn't overpower any flavors. Crispy and crunchy.

Very good Asian flavored ice cream! Definitely on the pricey side but they know what they have. I loved taro soft serve but these flavors change over time. I prefer pandan for scoops.

Best ice cream/boba shop I’ve been to. Me and my friends are a one hour drive from the city but we make that commute happily every weekend to try out the new flavors. The place is beautiful- props to the designer- and their stuff is SO GOOD. They only have a couple flavors of boba since it’s more of an ice cream shop, but their brown sugar milk tea is so delicious that I don’t even care. Everyone needs to go here at least once.

I ordered a black sesame & matcha swirl soft serve in a cup, "messy boba" style, with a matcha cone on the side. Both soft-serve flavors were pronounced and fragrant, very creamy, and not overly sweet (coming from someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth). The black sugar boba was on point with respect to both texture and flavor, on par with the better bobas I have had in Taiwan. I loved how a bit of black sugar syrup accumulated at the bottom of my soft serve cup—it complemented the relatively less sweet cream perfectly! The matcha cone was not at all sweet, almost savory, which was delicious. I can't wait to go back to try the other options!

KURIMU’s flavor ideas are always great. Their actual flavors have never come through each time I’ve come here though. I had the Guava soft serve today and I wasn’t able to detect the flavor in there at all :/. One of the persons that attended my friend and I was also very rude from the beginning. We had asked for a cone, but she gave us a plastic cup and when we mentioned this to her she just went on to stab the come on top of the ice cream in the cup. We were there for less than 3 minutes and there really was no reason for this person’s bad attitude. Still wanting to try their Wicker Park location, maybe I’ll have better luck there.

Soft serve is delicious. Mango Tango ice cream is good. Brown sugar boba tea is OK. Nothing special. I bought their TO-GO Purple Yam ice cream and was disappointed. When I see Purple Yam, I expect it to be Purple Yam which is also known as Ube NOT Taro. I looked at their ingredients and Taro is what they call Purple Yam which is not correct. Please rename the ice cream because Taro is not Ube/ Purple Yam. Pretty disappointed because once I tasted it I could tell it's Taro..

They have THE best soft serve. I come here from Wisconsin often and I love their ever changing flavors. So fun and creative! My favorites would have to be either earl grey or white rabbit & raspberry pomegranate. There's usually a line but it's worth the wait.

They have many varieties of flovors: Red bean; Ube; Care Bear (Coconut; Ube; and Jackfruit) As well as boba milk tea, my favorite is the Black Sugar Boba Milk tea, everything is on point, the level of sugar and the chewiness of the boba. I also had the melon pan ice cream, which I was told by the staff I can get two flavors. The melon pan is served warm and it was a good mix of the hot and cold mix. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Staff are super friendly, they offer for testing the ice cream before I can make up my mind (too many that I want) This is my to-go for ice cream place now! Can't wait to try other items on the menu

The black sesame ice cream is mind blowing. It's exactly like "gee ma wu" (or "zi ma wu") but in ice cream form. We also tried durian, mango, pandan, milk tea, lychee, and the soft serve ramune. Everything was delicious, but more importantly, the flavors are spot on. The milk tea ice cream with bobba is exactly like having the drink. If you haven't given Kurimu a try, you're missing out.

Kurimu is a great place to go if you need a quick treat. I highly recommend the tarot and oreo flavor in a cone or a cup. There are many flavors to choose from, and it is hard to choose the best one. The place is small and usually busy so be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it. I definitely recommend stopping by if you find yourself in Little Italy.

😍 First time customer & very impressed. Got the black sesame and Care Bare Stare pints ($9) to go. Half an hour drive later, they were in great condition & so delish. The pint containers are very cute see-through plastic, very on brand & reusable. I thought CBS (purple yam, jackfruit & coconut) could either be a big hit or miss & I'm happy it's the former! Love the jackfruit chunks. Black sesame was VERY intense, almost burnt. Not bad, but next time I'll try something else.
