Reviews of Lake Champlain Chocolates Flagship Store
We visited the flagship store on a Saturday in October where they were offering some chocolate samples and a partner company was offering drinks.
The shop has a cafe area where you can get coffee and hot cocoa, as well as some seating to enjoy your drinks. Unfortunately, drinks are served on paper cups instead of proper mugs. I think that for a flagship store that's self-contained, it should offer their drinks on cups/mugs (the container affects the taste!)
There was a good assortment of chocolates for sale, as well as some "not perfect" products on discount. We bought some chocolate from this section.
I was expecting the flagship store to be bigger, but it's a decent size and has plenty of parking. There is also some educational contents showing where cocoa comes from, and some information about the history of the chocolate company.
Great chocolate shop with some of the best chocolate around !!! It was such a treat (pun intended) to visit this place. Great selection— be sure to look at the factory seconds too. The employees were all very kind and knowledgeable. The two girls at the shop were the nicest people I met in Burlington. I got the vegan salted caramel dark chocolate flowers (divine!!!) on sale. Please note that the flagship store does NOT offer tours anymore :( I was kind of sad about that ! The chocolate is now made at a different factory.
They had just what I was looking for plus a fun extra. If you love chocolate you'll love this place. The staff are curteous and friendly. And they have a large variety of high end chocolate to choose from. Very clean inside as well. You can buy drinks, hot it cold. There's are specialty items such as chocolate turkeys or Santa lollipops. It's fun to see what they've created. Stop in if you have time to look around and see the delights that await you there.
Oh. My. Gosh!!!!! Yes yes yes! Go! It's absolutely worth it!!!!
The best chocolate is the fruit and nut bars, hazelnut and the peanut butter cups, nut thats only my experience.
They have been in business forever for a reason! They are the best of the best!
My experience here was great as the chocolates tasted delicious and fresh and the service was friendly. I wasn’t disappointed but all I ordered were a box of chocolates I had selected!
Had a nice visit to pick up some chocolate on a recent ski vacation. The self-guided tour wasn't anything special and there were no samples out. The truffles we purchased were fantastic albeit pricey and the seconds purchased by the pound were also delicious. I would have liked to see more dark chocolate options. Overall worth a quick visit.
We went on 1/14/2023. We got some chocolate for us. We also had the Belgium chocolate ice cream (my wife said it was to die for) and I had the maple latte (highly recommend it). The only issue we had was there was no sugar sweets. We wanted to get something for a person that is diabetic and likes sugar free sweets.
As a born and raised local, I’ve always loved lake Champlain chocolates and have really lovely childhood memories with their caramel apples in the fall, hot chocolate in the winter, and year round creative chocolates. The reason for the 3 star review is specifically to do with the really rude staff at this location on a repeated basis. There are consistently rude young college aged girls working here who ignore your existence and chat to each other. When you ask questions they scoff at you. Please, reassess your staff at this location because your chocolates are incredible.
The smell of chocolate radiates the retail shop and the snack area. Go ahead indulge in the chocolate samples on the counter. There is an area where you can buy drinks such as Maple Latte which was to die for……and Belgian chocolate ice cream that was a over the top richness. The only down fall and why I only gave it 3 stars is because there was no sugar free items. Don’t let this place pass you by…..Chocolate Lover Forever!!!!
The store front was wonderful but very disappointed in the self guided tour. And they didn't even have the children chocolate Explorer kits for the younger kids to get. So very disappointed overall in the experience
Went there on Sunday and we were offered for chocolate tasting, they had little quiz for fun (no prize).
Seems like this quiz happens during only weekend until 4PM, and factory tour will happen during weekday until 2PM.
Store was nice looking and there were lots of parking spot (approx 25) staffs are really nice. But their chocolate was pricey $19/lbs. they also have shirts and other staff. Please see picture.
Chocolate shop and factory. It's a quick stop. They do tours on the hour. The tours are a short lecture overlooking the factory floor. When we visited they did an ad hoc your for us as we were there on the half hour. You get samples at the end of the tour - delicious! You can buy "factory seconds" at a discount. Worth a quick stop.
Chocolate tasting on Sundays. Yummy! The factory is closed on Sundays. If you want to see them in action, don't go on Sunday. If you do go on Sunday, they have chocolate tastings. win-win 😁 …
These chocolates are absolutely delicious! They are not cheap though so I gave them 4 out of 5 stars for that reason..I was fortunate to be visiting during a sale on the pretzel chocolate bars! These confections would make a great gift or a special treat for you and your family or significant other!
Absolutely stunning store for seeing entire variety of Champlain chocolates and ice cream. I usually order online and I made a visit to the shop due to my brand attachment to Lake Champlain chocolates.. maple butter pecan ice cream is must try here. Staff here very friendly and answered all my queries on their product line. They do sell factory second ( chocolate which doesn't meet presentation bar ).
We made this a stop while we biked around Burlington, and it was well worth it. It was a little busy in there, but they do still require masks (which I prefer). Chocolate lovers dream - check out the leftovers wall! I've been savoring my chocolate haul ever since we went a couple weeks ago (only a small portion is pictured)!
So delicious. The tour was a video and watching the bakers through the glass, but still interesting and the host was really good about keeping my dairy allergen in mind. Go to the drink bar and get some drinking chocolate. One of the best cups I've ever had. There's a discounted section of "reject" chocolate with some good deals.
Maybe it's just me, but I absolutely love that you can buy the cosmetically "imperfect" chocolates here at the flagship store along with the gorgeously packaged box sets, bars, or specialty truffles.
The staff here were extremely friendly and efficient, and given that it was a beautiful day when I came here, I doubt I would have had such a peaceful experience at the downtown location. I highly recommend going a bit out of your way to visit this location, even thought he downtown one is just as nice!
The best place for chocolate lovers!! Their chocolate tastings allow you to test out a few flavors before making your final purchases. They have everything from chocolate bars to truffles to seasonal specialities and even a coffee bar in the back. The staff is very knowledgeable and nice. Mostly, I love that they are a B-Corp and really care about making a bigger impact!
I can’t speak to the chocolates, but the ice cream was phenomenal! I went here with a large group and we were quickly served and nothing was out. What more could you ask for?
Really nice! Amazing chocolate and a little Cafe. Lots of parking if you want delicious chocolate but don't wanna go down to church street this is the place.
Good chocolate and hot chocolate. Great selection. Tour is seated and got two samples at end. Views of the production floor during the tour
Some of the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Large number of available chocolates too
Great place to visit. Expensive, but nice. They have a "Tour" which consists of watching a video with a guide explaining what is being seen. You can see the candy being made through big windows. You can also purchase seconds or firsts of candy. Nice experience.
Enjoyed the simple and sweet, 30-minutes sitting-tour of talk and video beside the open-window factory...to sample white, milk, dark chips and the dark truffle, from when it began.
Decadent and delicious chocolate here! I picked out some neat things to take back home to family. The cherry cordials were the best!
The 🍫 awesome. But I was there more for the dinosaur tales. Guess I have an excuse to dive next time.Somewhat of a late review I was weary of posting stuff but what the hell long live the h …
The chocolates were delicious, we were expecting to see the factory but the windows are all blocked with posters.
Amazing store with a wide variety of chocolates and barks
Personal favorite: 5 star hazelnut
Refined and presented with taste. You are welcomed to sample on weekends between 11-4pm of three of their newer, and more interesting bars. The texture, aroma, and desire of the the chocolate send chocolate lovers into a coma. "Lets get chocolate wasted"!
Good store, great chocolate. However came here expecting a factory tour. They no longer make chocolate at this location. They still have a movie of the chocolate making process.
Wonderful samples. Beautiful dark chocolate artwork! Immaginitive pairings. A bit pricey but well worth it.
Chocolate is amazing, customer service if you have an issue later not so much
We enjoyed this place, got free chocolate samples, bought the Dominican Chocolate ice cream, which I recommend for adults who love the taste of real chocolate, also tried the Belgian chocolate ice cream, more sweet for the kids and for those that don’t like the strong chocolate flavor. For those who dream of swimming in chocolate or keep thinking of the movie... it’s not going to happen, the tour is visual, not physically where the magic happens but outside behind the clear glass. LOL. Seat for the self tour movie. It’s the same thing, try the samples and buy....most try the ice cream
A nice place to enjoy chocolate ice cream and browse the store. There are no factory tours right now due to COVID but they have a video to see the process. We recommend getting the chocolate “seconds,” which are delicious and a great deal.
I love to get my hot Cocoa and Ice cream here. The best ones in town.
Place well organized and clean. Courteous staff. Great products.
Great place to buy gifts for friends back home... Everyone likes high quality chocolate!
Delicious chocolates with warm people... great tour on the chocolate making and some samples to taste as well...
Such friendly staff!! And the CHOCOLATE is AMAZING!! We went back the next day just to get more!!
Good selection of organic chocolate, and some free samples. Also has dairy and dairy free ice cream in fewer varieties.
The macadamia nut cluster things are heavenly. Everything is just so dang delicious.
Visited here when we were staying in Stowe. Chocolates were very good and the seconds section superb value. My husband said the ice-cream was very rich - he couldn't finish his 2 scoops but he enjoyed what he could manage! Will visit every time we are in Vermont now I know it's here
Seconds from the factory plus little cafe/ice cream counter. Plus some nonseconds candy. Pricey but yummy.
Fun to take the "tour" (a video and listen to an employee talk, and have some free chocolate samples) and learn about and see how the chocolate is made. They also serve ice cream and hot chocolate in the store, and of course have lots of chocolates you can buy.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the free samples. Very friendly staff.
If you know, you know and don't need a review to decide. In fact, you're probably already there.
If you don't know, then please, oh please, just go already. I recommend heading to the 'factory seconds' (basically just not-pretty-enough for normal sale, so deeply discounted) section. Always yummy, always clean, always friendly, forever delicious. I die for the Apple Cider ANYTHING and I think you will, too.
The store was very nice, very clean. However, I would have liked the chocolate display area to have been better arranged instead of most of that floor being empty and the display off to the left. At least center it to the floor. Additionally, I felt the chocolates are a little overpriced in comparison to the quality of taste. Nice store and nice product but both have a little room for improvement.
Basically was exactly what I expected: a slightly expensive but overall good chocolate store. Location is good if you are visiting Burlington, and it is a worthy stop for those that like chocolate: they have a nice variety of chocolate products for you to try, and the chocolate drinks are quite good.
I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could, but I can't find reason enough to take off an entire star. It isn't the most special chocolate factory I have ever been in, and it is by no means a huge location, but it is memorable and fun.
Delicious candy and ice cream. An awesome spot for a taste of vermont.
I just had the most heavenly chocolate milkshake here. I can't imagine anyone not liking it.
If you are going to Lake Champlain Chocolates go to this one. You can get a coffee, ice cream, an occasional sample of chocolate, watch the chocolate process and they have nice extras for purchase. Oh, and they have great chocolate. There is also a nice quantity of chocolate seconds.
By 12pm most of the workers were gone and because of Covid there was not tour. They had a great video to show production and a mural of the entire process of making chocolate. I love supporting local so we got some to try and they were delicious! The only reason I gave 4 star is because I felt like they weren't very interested in talking about their chocolates considering the factory is through a glass window, I was hoping to get some more understanding.
What a great shop. Incredible chocolate. Very friendly staff.
We did a self tour. There were a few samples that were delicious. Prices are a little high.
It's a nice chocolate shop. They have a "tour" but you don't ever leave your chair. However it's a nice sort of lecture where they explain the whole process of making their chocolate. They used fair trade cocoa beans and everything they can get locally they do. So it's feel good chocolate. It's also high quality chocolate and it's tastes that way. The samples they gave us just about melted in my mouth. They have cute designs also. We went just after Father's day and they had chocolate ties.
Really good chocolate but very expensive. ( higher end chocolate shop)
Before leaving to see how the chocolates are made, just check day and times. I went on a Sunday and there were no chocolates being made. This in no way has deterred me from going back again. It was fun to look in the store. They even had a selection of chocolate that was in appearance a little wonky but tastes good. A great family day trip!
My opinion the store was elegant the layout was good no free samples, so I sampled my own and had to pay for them! Folks if you are a chocolate lover bring your personal banker with you this place is expensive!..
Yummy chocolates sorry we missed the tour
We went for the tour. The guide did a great job of explaining the chocolate making process. Used visual aids to really help educate our family on what happens each step. The chocolate they make is delicious and fairly priced. We appreciated how they try to utilize local vendors anytime they can to help other Vermont businesses.
Best chocolates ever. Worth the trek to stock up on factory seconds, sold at half price!
Great little chocolate store for us chocolate lovers. They do offer "tours" however it's not necessary a tour. You can view the process from an observation deck while they talk about it. The staff is fantastic though and, of course, the chocolate is amazing. You can even purchase the factory oops candy for a discounted price.
There was no physical tour of the chocolate factory but their ice cream and chocolates were delectable
Lovely cozy & sweet. We had a barber quartet sing to us for Valentines Day. 💖 …
We went in summer 2020 so only the store was open due to covid. The chocolate and merchandise choice is great, and the chocs themselves very good indeed. The lady that served us was incredibly friendly.
Amazing chocolates! We stopped by the factory in Burlington on a weekend visit. It was definitely worth it. They have a short presentation about how they get their chocolate and their process for making some of it. The truffles are really good. We brought back gifts from there and made sure we had some extra for us. The apple cider caramels are the best. Some of the chocolates that are prepackaged and chocolate milk mixes are marked kosher as well. On a nice day it would be a good walk from downtown Burlington but since it was winter and cold we drove. They have their own lot and we did not have any issues parking.
Such a yummy place! The chocolates are amazing and there are so many options to choose from. The ice cream is delicious as well. Try the butter pecan, best I've ever had and I'm picky about my ice cream. Vermont cows and milk really make a difference!
They're the best! Not only are their associates extremely knowledgeable and friendly, the store is set up beautifully! I bought a bag of chocolate a couple weeks ago and was so excited to get a delicious ice cream that I forgot my chocolate! They replaced it with no questions other than what kind I wanted.
Delicious! They're is always a sample a able. They offer weekend tastings from 10am to 4pm. Sometimes a small tour or educational introduction to the world of chocolate production. There's a bar that serves coffee, hot chocolate, and award winning ice cream in the back of the retail space. The price is high but worth it, as the experience of high quality chocolate can be achieved in small quantities.
So much fun!! Check out all the equipment used to make the chocolate!! You also need to see all the weird chocolate sculptures. Very cool!! Fun little place to check out!! The chocolate is amazing!!
Lake Champlain Chocolates are hands down the best chocolates in the country that I have experienced. I would always make sure to make a stop at the Factory or the location on Church St. I prefer the Factory over the Church St location because you can often get better deals since it has the "defect" chocolates. I haven't been to Burlington in a while, but I still order chocolates from them. I actually got my wife a chocolate of the month subscription for Christmas. My favorite chocolates are the dark chocolate sea salt caramels and green mountain chocolates, but I have never had anything that was bad. Warning, the prices are expensive, so probably not something you can have all the time, but definitely my go to chocolate place for special occasions or if I am in the area.
Friendly, accommodating staff & a great selection of delicious chocolates. Samples, discount options, and factory tours all available. “Tour” is educational and done from a windowed balcony overlooking the production area; they recommend >7 yrs old, but there’s a shop and ice cream bar, too.
The free short "tour"(presentation) was very informative and came with delicious samples. Prices are expensive but it is a premium product.
LOVE the chocolate, which is unfortunate because it is so expensive. Go here and take the tour, it's very interesting and you get to try a few samples!
This is also the best place to buy their chocolate goodies, even though $4.50 seems like robbery for their chocolate covered caramel pretzel (which is to die for!). I still bought three... :)
I visit this chocolate factory every time I come to Vermont and have yet to be disappointed. The chocolate is amazing- a little pricy- but for good reason. It’s all fair trade certified and they use high quality ingredients that make chocolate that is truly one of a kind. The tours are great and FREE and the samples are too. Everyone that works there is always pleasant. If your looking to get away with a lot of chocolate but you don’t want to drop a ton of money there’s the factory seconds area. They sell chocolate that they have in excess or that isn’t “perfect” by their standards. It still tastes the same so it’s still perfect to me.
Who doesn’t sell gift cards or gift certificates?!? Really wanted to support this local business during the pandemic but kinda hard to do so without that option but good thing NU Chocolate does sell them! Otherwise love their chocolates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Very nice, and delicious chocolate, but outrageously expensive.
Belgian chocolate ice cream and dark chocolate truffles to go! Friendly and attentive staff.
Here is some of the best chocolate found in all of Burlington! Lots of variety of flavors and all made right on site. Some days you can even watch them make these decadent desserts. Also make sure to grab a big bag of seconds to share when you get back home with family and friends. They will love you for it I promise!
Love this place! Came for the hot chocolate samples & got a variety of chocolate "seconds" at reduced rates. Always fun activities happening. Love coming here for quality Vermont made chocolate gifts! Pre-packaged chocolate sets as well as specialties by the pound. Chocolate covered cherries and orange peel are some of my favorites.
The best chocolate I've had since living in Belgium. The quality is in the delicious taste of everything from the caramels to the hot chocolate. I love walking in to the factory and being able to see the immaculate production floor, although it being so close to my home means i am always tempted. I especially love the limited production (experimental?) products like the paté de fruit and the discounted factory seconds.
Visiting Vermont over the 4th of July weekend - there weren't many stores open that day but Lake Champlain Chocolates was and it was worth the stop and the purchase! Delicious!!
This isn't a "tour" in the classic description, though you can watch the employees working through the glass. But I have to say - we REALLY enjoyed our "tour". It was VERY informative and we learned a lot. The free samples at the end were a bonus. So glad we took the time to do this. Makes us appreciate what goes in to making theses savory sweets!
Really interesting tours, and even when the factory isn't rolling, the signs give a thorough account of how chocolate is made. There are lots of flavorful options to buy at the store, but they're premium-priced.
Very fun free tours. Clean restrooms. One toilet broken.
The shop is beautiful, and the chocolates are delicious! However, the factory tour is not much of a tour. Only a small viewing area and a video. Still the truffles are phenomenal and we will continue to enjoy Lake Champlain Chocolates.
Besides offering the best chocolates and ice cream in VT, we love buying the factory seconds to bring back goodies for our friends. I was also impressed that they sell insulated bags and cold freezer packs, so that your purchases won't melt as you go on your way.
The apple cider chocolates were great
This was located right off of the main road and there was plenty of parking. They do offer factory tours, however we were a little late and missed the tour. However, there was a lot of reading around the store for you to learn. And they had a wall of glass so you could see into the factory which was neat.
The chocolate is expensive, on par with godiva. It is pretty good though! Highly recommended for gifts. And do yourself a favor and try the raspberry truffle!
Neat chocolate art and you can learn a little about the chocolate making process. They show where their local ingredients come from too. Staff is friendly and the chocolate is yummy.
I really enjoyed the tastings with my friend. It was a nice place to sit and see the factory in the background. The Aztec chocolate, which is actually a bit hot, was exceptional. I plan to use it in cooking. They had so many choices in the shopping area as well as some seconds as well.
Great chocolate. The free tour was very informative and fun, better than a lot of the paid factory tours out there. We even got free samples. I'd highly recommend coming here if you're in Burlington.
Chocolatier wasn't available though we called ahead and confirmed they were open. I have to still give them 3 stars because it's A CHOCOLATE FACTORY! LOL Also, they have a cafe. Decent parking lot too. Definitely confirm the chocolatier is in before going.
Great store, laid out well and staffed with good people. Then of course, there are the delicious chocolates.
Their chocolate is amazing. The tour isnt really a tour. It's just a very knowledgeable staff member talking and showing videos as you look out onto the floor. It makes you appreciate their chocolates and values.
Superb chocolate. Excellent people. Amazing art made of chocolate. Loved it so much I drove from out of town just for their hot chocolate and handmade marshmallows!
Always fun to look into the fascinating factory, know that we're enjoying ethically sourced chocolate and to sample some! Your staff is attentive and well informed without pressuring customers or being aloof. I love your products and vibe!
This is another place in Vermont to go see. The tour was great the chocolate is awsome. To learn how the chocolate came about and how he sold his business and started the chocolate factory from scratch is amazing. Follow your heart and your dreams because you can be successful...
Fantastic chocolate! Really that's all you need to know, get some for you and someone you love!
Don't pass this local gem by; the best chocolate in Vermont!
I buy truffles to send to family every year. Best chocolate in the world.
Not really a discount "factory" store, but they do have a corner with seconds. There is also a cafe, ice cream and hot chocolate sampling.
Best chocolate in the Notheast! Wonderful, professional counter service. Beautifully wrapped gift boxes gif eventhe smallest purchase. The dark chocolate covered cherries are a real handmade delight!
Lake Champlain Chocolate has a very informative tour of their chocolate making operation and the history of chocolate. They also have, maybe more importantly, samples of their wares and of course you can buy many and varied kinds of chocolates. See pictures 😃 …
We bought some traditional hot chocolate, which was second to none. It was absolutely delicious! Then purchased an assortment of chocolates, which were beyond delicious! Highly recommended!
This place is a lot of fun. See where all if their chocolate is made, enjoy a quick lecture, buy some chocolate for the road. Ample parking. Not quite walkable from main areas in Burlington, but worth the trip.
It's chocolate...it's Vermont...what more can you ask for? The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The chocolates are beyond compare. If you are from Vermont and going somewhere else you, or a vacationer heading home, you need to bring a box, or 2, with you. You can't put into words how fantastic the chocolates are...you have to share them.
Great selection of dark chocolate.
Although the chocolate is pricey, it is worth it! We went right before Easter, so we bought chocolate bunnies and eggs.
It's a chocolate wonderland. Try Hot Chocolate here if you are in the area. Spicy Aztec is great!!
Delicious chocolates, ice cream, and drinking hot chocolate. Yum. I have been many times and they are quite consistent with their quality and service.
The free tour is a hidden gem! Couldn't actually walk in the factory (for sanitation reasons) but got a great presentation through the glass window, complete with learning about both the chocolate making and chocolatier process and samples at every step.
The chocolate was amazing, but couldn't afford it 😢 …
Didn't get there for a guided tour- that was ok for us.
Had a couple of samples, very tasty. Ended up having some ice cream. Very good flavor just slightly "grainy" in my opinion.
Took some hot chocolate and sample chocolates home with us.
Love this place. The chocolates are excellent and so is the ice cream. My favorite is the salted caramel. At this factory location they offer discounts for chocolate seconds.
The chocolate was very tasty. Didn't know the factory touring wasn't available. Was the main reason why we drove so far to get there. Got chocolates than left.
Friendly service and tasty selection of chocolates. The 75% dark drinking chocolate is very good. When I asked about the different varieties, the staff member offered me samples to help make my decision.
Terribly Great tasting chocolates!!!!
Try the hot Choco! High Quality, Consistently delicious chocolates. Cost more but, they are THAT GOOD.
Go for the Factory Seconds - slightly cheaper because they are not in their pretty boxes, same quality yummy chocolates.
Plenty of parking, the factory tour - meh.
If you're looking for grown up hot chocolate, this is the place. The Guatemalan is rich, dark, and fruity with just the barest hint of sweetness. Can be made with almond milk for those who don't or can't consume dairy.
The chocolate is awesome and looking into the factory is fascinating. Yet, the short video declared as the "self-guided tour" is pretty disappointing. More like an extended commercial than an informative piece.
The chocolates here are delicious, and the presentation is interesting and informative. Be sure to have some homemade ice cream at the snack counter. The chocolate ice cream and the mango sorbet are outstanding.
Again, a must visit when in Burlington! Very close to the lake, and make sure you do visit the chocolate tasting!
Good chocolate but pricey and there are other places that are better. Snowflake chocolates and Laughing Moon chocolates to name two.
Although there was nothing being made at the time of our visit, they still made it a great experience for us. So many samples! And so fun to learn about the process of harvesting cocoa beans.
Wonderful chocolate, great t-shirts and a must-stop for anyone nearby
Delicious handmade chocolates in a variety of flavors. They sell everything from cocoa to truffles, holiday items and ice cream... Truly artisnal chocolates.
Chocolate, coffee and ice cream are all excellent. Just sorry they don't do factory tours anymore
My friend had the best drinking chocolate she ever had. It was the highlight of her trip to Burlington.
I had to take a trip to Plattsburgh NY and went through Burlington,VT. Haldwayne through the trip my mom requested that I get her some Lake Champlain chocolates. This shop is on the way to the Burlington airport. I was able to get her chocolates which she thoroughly enjoyed. The shop is clean and the displays are presented in neat arrangements. They even have a chocolate tour.
High quality treats for everyone in the household! Dark chocolate is my favorite!
Wish they had a changing table in the bath room for the little ones. Seems like an area of extream uncleanness in there factory of food production and distribution. Change the baby in the sink? Yes its your only option.
Nice chocolate.... But...Dagoba is better.
Great for chocolate! But you can't see and chocolate bring made just an odd corner of info with window to factory blocked off - hope they make that possible.
Yep. It's really good chocolate. Tried to be unimpressed, but that 5*hazelnut bar was a pleasant surprise.
Hot chocolate fan? Skip it and get the darker drinking chocolate. Big, big, big, big, big difference. I'm sold.
Interesting informational talk about chocolate with samples. Kids were engaged as we passed jars of cocoa in different stages and cocoa pods. Large wall of glass allows you to see the factory in action.
They advertise a factory tour but in reality you just sit by windows to the factory while you watch a video and listen to someone talk. People were talking in the shop which made it hard to hear. The nice part is they have factory seconds which are cheaper than the chocolate they sell elsewhere.
Amazing chocolate in lots of traditional and unique varieties. A bit expensive but totally worth it for the quality. Also, amazing milkshakes! You've got to try them!
They have great quality chocolates and they also show you a documentary along with presentation about chocolates and how they make it. They also offered samples during the presentation. A must visit for chocolate lovers!
Stop by here often. Amazing staff, always super sweet and helpful. Amazing chocolate and great drinks to go. Love the five star bars
AMAZING! Their hot chocolate is worth the money. The hot chocolate powder is also worth it! Lasted a LONG time! If you ever go to Vermont for vacation, this is #1 recommended
You can smell the chocolate as soon as you walk through the door. We missed the tour but there is a self-guided option that still let's you see the factory.
While I love coming here and buying a ton of delicious chocolate, I am sad they are no longer doing factory tours. :(
Very interesting, informative, and DELICIOUS factory tour. My guests from Oregon loved the tour and the chocolates. I'm so glad to be able to share this wonderful Vermont resource with guests!
Loved that they offer seconds
Although no tours are currently allowed, we were allowed to walk around the store with our masks on. We bought a lot of amazing chocolate's!
Lake Champlain chocolates is a Burlington staple. This location is the epicenter, with both tours about chocolate making and a generous store (with factory rejects for purchase!). Parking is ample, although Pine Street traffic is busy during normal school hours. Highly recommended!
Was a little disappointed with the lack of variety. I'm assuming it was due to the "pandemic" and holiday season. My co-always ask for LCC when I return from a visit home. Even for "seconds" the chocolates are never disappointing!
Enjoyed the free tastings and of course the chocolate is so amazingly good, it just melts in your mouth. The tour isn't too long but it's informative.
Every visit to Burlington is not complete without stopping at Lake Champlain Chocolates. Don't just stop for their out of this world chocolate but make sure you step up to the bar and try an Affrogato or a Malt... You won't be disappointed!
Having a pleasant experience. The lady behind the counter who was brunette was extremely helpful and nice. The lady holding the door who was blonde was SO rude. She ruined the experience.
Delicious chocolate, free tastings and a cafe on site! It was a lovely experience. I wish we came when they gave tours. They also sold local products which we loved.
Great experience! We tried truffles, drinking chocolate, quinoa crunch bars, and watched a cool movie on chocolate making. A spot that will be appreciated by young and old!
A must-stop during a Burlington visit. You come for the chocolate, but especially in summer, you come back for the ice cream, which is simply divine. Their maple milkshake is a special treat after swimming at nearby Lake Champlain beaches.
I think their chocolate is some of the best around, period. The factory tour involves a lot of pointing and not so much touring though. Regardless it was pretty educational.
We tried a variety of chocolates and all were delicious! But prices seemed high.
Missed the last tour by 30 min. John came to the rescue and gave us about 10-15 min to explain the process of chocolate and answered all our questions. Also milkshakes are awesome.
Lake Champlain Chocolates will always be the best ever creative crafts in chocolate making. Better than hershey. Especially Wonka style.
Nice spot. The chocolate tasting was good. They don't run production on weekend, so be sure to go during the weekdays if you want to see it.
Went for the chocolate tasting. The chocolate was good, but there was only 3 to taste and we didn't really have any direction of what to go on. Not bad overall
A lovely little chocolate factory. Free hourly tours/educational lesson/tasting. A favorite company of ours for good chocolates. A great way to spend a half hour on a warm day.
Had a lot of fun on the factory tour learning about their stewardship with the chocolate growers. Plenty of samples. Chocolate tastes very good.
Why do they only have one sorbet flavor! Mango sorbet tastes amazing. I can't have dairy and this was perfect. But there's only one flavor option.
Loved the tour, I learned so much about chocolate! Lake Champlain's sustainable chocolates were pure deliciousness, plus they were made responsibly so they are good for the soul!
Pricey, but worth it. Pace yourself when enjoying these- unlike most chocolates, they're VERY rich!!
Excellent hot chocolate.
We tried thier orange zest chocolate which was amazing.
The iced maple latte is phenomenal!
Quality chocolate, but very pricey
Family run and operated, good wholesome ingredients, as local as possible. The chocolate is so good, you won't want to eat the stuff you're used to anymore!
Do you like chocolate? Do you like chocolate made by a locally owned company? Grab a few truffles or some factory seconds and who knows what else.
Always a stop when we are in Burlington! They have some good chocolate and they are located next to two breweries!
I wasn't too impressed I expected the factory having their seconds significantly discounted however don't expect to save much at the factory miminally discounted, l guess there isn't much competition up here and a bit pricey, I wasn't impressed. They do have a factory tour on how they make chocolate.
Chcolate ad staff are great. They have tastings and tours depending on the day and times so check the website before your trip so you can plan accordingly.
So many wonderful delicious chocolates, and so little time, LOL! Wonderful place to visit while you're in Burlington Vermont. And, who doesn't like chocolate?
All of their dark chocolate is dairy free! The tour takes place sitting with a view of the production line, it was really neat.
Among the best chocolate I've eaten! Their store has a wonderful selection not found anywhere else.
A little expensive, but... Between a commitment to sustainable techniques and high quality ingredients, and some of the best ice cream and hot chocolate I've had, the higher price is understandable.
Stopped by for the free chocolate tastings. Rich, high quality and delicious. I will be purchasing some of their chocolates at my local grocery store.
Lovely shop with delicious chocolates. Will definitely be stopping by next time I’m in Burlington!
Stopped for gifts for friends. Grabbed delicious chocolate coins and they had a sale!
Amazing experience! They had lots of activities and the chocolate was incredible.
Amazing variety of chocolates & really cool store. We missed the factory tour, but looked nice.
Excellent coffee! Fresh and flavorful chocolate candies in a multitude of flavors and sizes.
Ya gotta go!
If you love chocolate, this is the place to visit! The chocolate milkshake actually tasted like chocolate!
The chocolates are absolutely perfect and I already know I have to come here again on my next adventure.
Yum! We love Lake Champlain Chocolates! Expensive, but a nice treat or perfect gift from Vermont.
Amazing chocolate and ice cream. Service was super friendly. Nice place to share something nice with your loved ones
Old world hot chocolate, homemade marshmallows, and you can see the chocolate being made.
In all honesty, u didn't want to leave.
People are very friendly and the chocolate is delicious!
Great choices and delicious seasonal flavors. The cafe area has coffee/chocolate drinks and most are delicious!
Amazing staff
Interactive and detailed tour of factory (tour takes a little less than half an hour)
Delicious chocolate for sale and for tasting
Definitely worthwhile
I mean, I love chocolate soo.. yeah. A little pricey, but what are you gonna do
Easy parking. Chocolate is good. Prices are a little high. They had coffee and ice cream there as well.
Awesome chocolate factory. We got to see how chocolate is made. The chocolate also tastes pretty good.
The free chocolate tasting was awesome. The chocolates are super PRICY but really delicious. Very pretty shop.
Great tasting and good flavors, but limited variety and very pricey.
The selection of chocolates was delightful, we purchased a box to bring to my sisters, everyone loved them!
The tour guide was very enthusiastic and informative. Free window tours every hour with samples (10-2).
I enjoyed the chocolate, might have been more interesting if the factory was running. Should have gone during the weekday.
We had the ice cream truck for a neighborhood party and it was a wonderful ending to the meal.
Superb chocolates at reasonable prices, only one flavor of their incredible sorbet though, so - 1. More sorbet!!
The chocolate is fabulous and the staff is friendly.
Let's see - free chocolate, great ice cream and drinks, huge variety and amazing staff! Great!
The dopest chocolatiest place in town. Candied ginger or orange dipped in dark? A+. Plenty of dairy-free options.
Friendly staff and yummy ice cream and chocolates.
Very nice staff and the free tour was very informative. We loved the samples. No pressure to buy anything after the tour too.
All the chocolates looked delicious and the ones we got we really enjoyed. Worth the stop in.
Very good organic dark chocolate, and their ice cream is delicious as well :)
Very informative tour. I learned more about chocolate than I would've ever known. Great chocolate too.
Good stuff but pricey. No inside place to enjoy ice cream
The chocolate is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for?
Seriously the best chocolate I have ever had.The mocha flek is amazing. Looking forward to returning this summer.
Very educational! Our tour guide was awesome. If you like chocolate, this is a must.
Fun to taste test some of the chocolate and see all the machinery. Great chocolate selection
Overpriced for what it was and honestly, we found the chocolate to be just ok. Way better at the candy motel!
Amazing chocolate. The tour was very informative, but it was a seated video tour in front of the windows overlooking the factory room.
Smelled wonderful in this store, chocolates were fantastic, but way too pricey !
The chocolate is fabulous!
Lots of samples, yum. The chocolate was excellent. Was Saturday so no tour 😞 …
Check ahead for tour times - we arrived after the last tour of the day had ended, so not only did we miss out, we had to deal with a large group from the last tour crowding the shop and drink counter.
Best chocolate on the planet, but less known is the ice cream and hot chocolate bar in back.....Yum
Very good service there and very very good chocolate there. Will be going back there again soon
OMG...Yummy...Not enough adjectives to describe. Plus the ice cream and hot chocolate were delicious too.
Very pleasant people and they are very knowledgeable. Chocolate flavors are extensive and tasty.
Very good chocolate does not matter the style or flavor. Only downer is that it is a bit pricey
Drove 435 miles round trip just for the factory seconds, always worth it.
Didn't get to take the factory tour but tasted and bought plenty of chocolates for the next few weeks.
It's a lot smaller than expected. The chocolates are a different class altogether.
Must visit! See candy making demonstration. Sampling. Great ice cream too! Nice visit!
Wonderful ice cream and the salted dark chocolate are to die for.
Tasting offerings on Sunday were a pleasant surprise, great opportunity to figure out what you would like to take home.
What a yummy place to visit!
Great chocolate!
Loved the chocolate tasting, but wish the tastings and tours were available on the days.
Awesome hit chocolate and unique treats. Must try the apple cider caramels!!!!
Excellent locally made chocolate, marshmallows, icecream, hot chocolate, coffee/choc bar!!! Awesome!!
Try the Belgian Chocolate ice cream and you'll think of this as a new standard above all others. Superb chocolates abound also!
Delicious! Love the Belgian chocolate milk shake, even in the dead of winter.
Was too late to see the factory tour. I would not make a special trip to get their chocolate. It was mediocre at best. Would still go to the tour next time I'm in the area
good chocolate... $20 per pound for factory rejects and up to $50 for others... I think not.
Tasty root beer float. Chocolate is a little expensive but the caramel bars are so good
Great local chocolate factory/store, there are often free samples, and a very helpful staff.
The chocolate was pretty good, especially enjoyed the chocolate caramel apple. Sadly arrived too late for the tour.
Good place to take family & friends to see how Vermont chocolate is made and you can taste it.
The factory store is awesome. They are one of the best chocolate makers in the USA!!!!
Overpriced. Chocolate was okay..nothing spectacular.
The chocolates are rich and creamy. High quality but not really a tour.
Great chocolate
Very clean store easy to get to
Wife and kids loved it. I'm not a chocolate lover
Some of the best chocolate I've ever eaten, friendly staff, and the factory seconds are a godsend.
Very very tempting place for chocolate lovers. Wonderful to see the manufacturing unit.
Great chocolate!! Check out the seconds shelf for good deals.
They are chocolatiers, NOT chocolate makers.
For the dark chocolate connoisseur pretty main stream.
High prices for designer chocolates. No real chocolate for for the kids.
Excellent chocolate and fantastic maple lattes.
Fun place the tour was awesome !!
Good chocolate. Not exactly a tour but a short sit down instructional session with samples.
Known for their amazing chocolate, but the ice cream and mochas are worth a stop as well.
Great customer service. Informative tour. Bought lots and lots of chocolate! 😉 …
Very informative talk, I learned more here than other chocolate factory tours.
We try to stop in whenever we are in the area- prices are on high side, but quality products ( did use Entertainment Book coupon though)

They give tours quite often, and they have a large amount of reduced price chocolates here
Very nice variety of chocolates and nice view of the production floor.
Store is small, expensive, and the most importantly, the chocolate is kind of bland.
Yummy chocolate! Very helpful & friendly staff.
The smell when you come in is already delicious. And the gentleman who helped me couldn't have been more knowledgeable, friendly or professional.
