Cute little old fashioned ice cream/candy store! Located in Hyde Park, Downtown,Boise. Sundae’s were good, except the hot fudge wasn’t hot. And neither was the brookie. Carmel popcorn was great, chocolate was great- both are made there! Server was not very helpful, as this was our first time, we did not know their routine. Over all, it was a cute place and we would come back. Parking behind the building.

Fun old school candy store. There are older candies and chocolates. Has soda fountain and home made ice cream as well. Employees were nice and friendly. I say…. stop by if your in town.

I stopped here during one of my visits to Boise. It’s right down the street from Camels Back Park. There are also a few other shops and restaurants around the area. Staff was very friendly. They offer outdoor seating.

Very good location, friendly staff and a fun place to hangout and eat. They have decent patio seating as well during spring and summer. Easily my fav ice cream place in Boise. Lot of options in home made ice creams and milk shakes too. My favorite is Turtle Sundae. Also, definitely try their Banana Split, it cannot be missed. In case you didn’t know yet, they also maintain something like a punch card where you get a free order after a certain number of visits. Wouldn’t hurt to get that if you go to that place frequently, which I’m sure you will if you go once ;)

What an amazing experience at Goody’s candy store. We ventured there two days in a row, and it was out of the way. The lavender cups are phenomenal, as well as the seafoam and the mocha candies of some sort. We sampled the sour belts and decided on almost every flavor. We wanted to take a moment to recognize the extremely knowledgeable staff — especially the Monday night manager. This manager took his time to enlighten us about all of the candies and their magic. He made recommendations based upon our deepest desires. We were absolutely amazed. In fact, we would hire this human being as a bar tender, if we were to own a bar, due to his impeccable recommendations. His glowing personality did not hurt either. We really wish we knew his name so we can give him personal recognition for his time and energy spent. Overall, 10/10 for this experience. We will be back.

Love the nostalgia of this quaint Soda Fountain shop. The store smells like a waffle cone.The staff are super friendly and the ice cream did not disappoint. Wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Very quaint old fashioned soda fountain shop with ice cream and a wide variety of candy. It was our first time and the lady helping us suggested their two top sellers 1. Chocolate with vanilla ice cream 2. Raspberry with coconut ice cream The chocolate was surprising and delightful. Not overly chocolatey and nor overly sweet Raspberry had macerated raspberries and the coconut ice cream was tasty. They give a big scoop of ice cream in each soda I think for the price ($5 each?) I'd want a little more soda in a larger cup. Also, the paper straws don't last very long in the cup and become pretty useless. It was a great way to end a Saturday family hike and I'm sure we'll be back!

This place is AMAZING! let's just say the HOMEMADE hot fudge WITH MY HOMEMADE ice cream made my eyes water with joy. definitely will always find a way to go there. Wish they had a location in Utah.

Love it! I haven't been here for a while, but we came here for the promotion they had last weekend.Then I came back today after a little hike at Camel's Park. The employees are wearing masks. They are asking for only 5 customers at a time. They sanitized patio tables/chairs after each customers. So they are on top of those things 😊👌🏼. The ice cream is so fresh and creamy, and the waffle cone is super delicious. The toppings, the fruits are good/fresh & the (liquid) marshmallow is so yummy. & I love that the employee who helped me today was able to recommend another topping choice, to replace an unavailable/seasonal topping. They have baked goods (price is per lb), and I can't wait to try it tonight as dessert 😊

A delicious ice cream and penny candy treat shop. My kids love looking at all the cute this and stuffed animals while we wait in line. My favorite ice cream flavor so far is the lemon! There's typically always a line to get in but it generally goes quick. There's limited parking and outdoor seating.

Very tasty ice cream in a darling soda fountain. Lots of candy and chocolates but the crowning jewel is the homemade ice cream and waffle cones! Love the location, too. Sat outside in the shade and enjoyed the quaint Hyde Park atmosphere.

The kiddos and I have recently “rediscovered” this hidden gem... located in historic Hyde Park- Goody’s is off the beaten path for us, however when a friend reminded us of their good grade incentive for kiddos 6th grade and younger, we went to get treats on the last day of school. Our goodies were so “Goody” that we’ve been back a couple times since and plan on going back again soon! I’m a huge fan of the turtle sundae with caramel and real hot fudge (not the crummy chocolate syrup stuff) and making it with coconut ice cream- Mmmmmm... the kids like the laid back atmosphere and the candy, not to mention being right next to a toy store! Happy, happy! Looking forward to our next visit! :)

Been a customer for years and now, "Health Codes" say dogs aren't allowed. I question which one says that and he said not sure just dogs are against health Codes. Well then a Karen needed to be part of this conversation. Because she was supportive to the youth, but both were incredibly helpful to explain that didn't know or couldn't site the actual Idaho Code. 3 stars because the young woman taking orders deserves 5 stars. The dog expert, who was touching his hair and handling food ungloved deserves Zero or -1 stars. Good bye! good ease?

When you first notice this place, at first glance you see a small building; however, this place is proof you should never judge a book by its cover. Upon arrival, the atmosphere is very retro rockabilly with a nostalgic Willy Wonka redux. The staff is as extremely attentive and energetic, which I enjoy seeing. The service was hospitable. I ordered the banana split and it was literally one of the best I’ve ever had. There is something special about the ice cream here. Overall, my experience was fantastic.

This had a great atmosphere and ice cream is always a go to with hot weather. With that being said, I like going to local joints to get flavors that I can't get elsewhere, but there flavors where pretty basic. I got the chocolate oreo flavor and it was great! I just wasn't that excited with the flavor choices. I didn't try the chocolates, but they looked really good.

A fantastic place for a date night or a family outing. Their homemade waffle cones are 10/10. Perfect spot to get snacks to take on a walk through the Hyde Park neighborhood. One of the best places to visit in Boise.

This place is so cool! A penny collector machine is located here where you can smash a souvenir penny in town. The prices are great, popcorn and caramel corn are being made fresh, and it totally has the classic soda fountain/candy shop vibe. They also have homemade ice cream that seemed to be a huge hit, but I didn't try it this time. The workers are so friendly too! This was definitely a fun place!

Goody's is the best place to go for delicious ice cream! We brought our family here to celebrate my nephews birthday, and to enjoy some yummy ice cream after a day at the park. I was amazed how classic and home made everything tasted. The flavors reminded me of when I was a kid and my brother and I use to walk to the ice cream shop to get our scoop for 50 cents. It's really a cute little spot with lots of nostalgia. When my parents come to visit, I am definitely taking them here. If you prefer milkshakes, sundaes, root beer floats, and REAL ice cream, Goodys is the place for you!

Love Goodies, it never disappoints. Unless they are out of my favorite Chocolate Almond ice cream. We always stop in there whenever we are on town and getting a Vanilla Coke and Cream is a tradition. It's a great for the old fashioned soda fountain feel and they have a huge selection of candy and yummy chocolates. They even have chocolate covered potato chips!

I really think this is the best ice cream in town, maybe even in the whole country. The shop itself is so cute, very old fashioned and charming. They have fresh variety of ice creams and sorbets. I recently tried the "coffee oreo" which was just fantastic! Beautiful patio in the north end to people watch and enjoy, and they always have water for my pup.

So much fun! Delicious homemade ice cream and candies. Occasional live music on the patio and if you can't find the stuffed animal you're looking for here, they have a toy store next door! It's kid heaven (and parents love it too). Always friendly and we love that they always serve an ice water with your dessert.

Their fathers day promotion was fantastic, if you are a dad, you get a free sundae. Not a small cone, a full blown sundae. The service there is fantastic, this place feels like you went back in time to a small mom and pop icecream store from the 60's. Defiantly worth a visit if you are in the area, even if it's just to browse their large selection of tasty chocolate.

Holy smokes, I loved this place! I don't know that I've ever had an old fashioned ice cream soda before. Besides being incredibly yummy, it was extremely well-crafted & quick fun service. I would leave ten stars if I could. Goody's is probably my favorite place in all of Boise. I have never been anywhere else that is SO careful about cross-contamination for allergies. I have a severe peanut/tree nut allergy and I actually feel safe eating here. Everything here is so good and the shop is so cute, it's impossible not to be happy while you're here.

The staff was incredible. My son doesn't always speak clearly or loudly. So when he ordered 1 scoop of 2 different ice creams, the only heard 1 and I only paid for 1. When they brought it out, he asked where the second one was. The waitress immediately offered to get it as I reached for my wallet. She said, no charge, it was our error. Great service, unexpected.

On Wednesday the 3rd my friends and I just got done hiking table rock. We knew we wanted to get some ice cream, and out all of the ice cream places Goody’s was where we wanted to go. We called ahead of time because the gps said we were going to arrive at 9:58 and we knew closing was at 10. A guy answered and said that was fine, and when we showed up at the door exactly at 10 o’clock the same guy approached us and said how rude of us it was to show up at closing time and that he didn’t have to let us in but out of the “kindness of my heart” he would let us in only if we would “be our team” , and “only order ice cream in a cup, no cones, nothing fancy” and “do not take any time thinking about what flavor you want.” My friends and I were beyond annoyed because we called ahead of time and he knew we were arriving. It was him and 2 other girls working, and the girls greeted us with smiles and were very friendly. The ice cream was great, but we were highly disappointed in the customer service.

This is an outstanding out of the way place to indulge your ice cream habit. Great flavors, great sodas, milkshakes, hot fudge sundaes, jelly beans——the list goes on and on. Not a problem if you are gluten free, lots of choices. Parking not a problem. Sit outside and enjoy Boise’s iconic north end.

Homemade ice cream and waffle cones, with new flavors coming in daily (at least in july!) Outdoor seating available and currently restricted to five people in the store at once during the pandemic. If you're wondering what the tiger's blood flavor is - coconut with a berry swirl. The fresh waffle cones and waffle bowls are FANTASTIC. Junior sized scoops available, and they are legit smaller than a single scoop.

Great shakes and icecream for a great price. The service is very friendly and you can get samples of nearly every type of icecream you could want. They also have other sweets that vary in color and variety which makes this a fun destination to go to. Lastly the atmosphere of the place is comfortable and homely.

5 stars! As good as it gets. I haven't been to too many candy stores, but this one tops all others that I have been to. Located in Boise's Northend near downtown, surrounded by a small row of restaurants, bars, and the like in a residential neighborhood, sits this cute and nostalgic candy store. Once you walk in you'll be greeted with many yummy smells. To the right of you is the candy corn area and to the left is many plus animals and toys that you can purchase-- there is also one of the penny flattener machines in this area, too. Once inside you can get your choice of many different pieces of candy from chocolates to gummy bears, or even get yourself a banana split or brownie sundae (see my photos). If you're in the mood for espresso they've got you covered, too! I can only imagine warm summer evenings at this place. I've been twice and both times were after having dinner with my friends in nearby restaurants. I can't wait to take my kids here! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The prices are fair, better than the candy shop in the mall. The name says soda fountain and I didn't really pay attention to any sodas or notice them.

Awesome little local shop with ice cream, candy, and more. It’s perfect any time of the year and great to go to with friends or family. I’ve been going here since I was in elementary school and it’s still great. It definitely does get a bit busier during the summer but it’s worth the wait.

Goody's Soda fountain is an ice cream, chocolate and candy ship. It is one of the main attractions in Hyde park. They have various kinds of flavors. This place seems a magical place for a child. There is a huge variety of candy here, include homemade. You can buy something for any kind of sweet tooth craving you have. I've never had bad ice cream either. You can't beat the great atmosphere of Hyde park in addition to a delicious selection of ice cream, dessert, candy, coffee, and even stuffed animals for the kids.

Goody's is great.. a little shop that from the moment you walk in the door..it makes you feel like you have stepped back in time..the smell of waffle cones hits you in the face and makes you rethink the hot fudge sundae is out... a little more pricy then other places around town..but worth it... Has indoor and outdoor seating.. and like a get long bit worth the wait..after you order they do deliver yoyr order to the table. Service was great... mostly happy high school kids that you can see like the job. This is a must GO when in Boise.

Goody's has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is what you have dreamt about in terms of candy and I've cream shops. I'm not kidding. Even it's location in Boise's Hyde Park neighborhood makes it more charming than you may think possible. All kinds of sweets from classic to contemporary. An outside patio where a local jazz combo was playing last time I stopped by. And it's adjacent to a toy store!

I know this is THE spot in Hyde Park but I'm not entirely sure why. The ice cream is ok, but nothing special. They've got lots of candies in jars and they're proud of the price. Honestly, it's more of a "happening spot" than a great place to get a snack. Nothing wrong with it, it's just mid level ice cream in my book.

I thought I was lost in a neighborhood but then.... there it was... Goody's. It's windows and music and smell showed me there can be a few blocks of smiling faces. We took a perfect shake from Goody's and enjoyed it with a walk. It was a peaceful contrast from the mental traffic in California. I hope others can find Goody's the way I did.
