Classic soft ice cream shack. Always crazy busy on a hot day. Lots of options... The customer service is lacking, as it seems like they've always got some new younger ('first time job' type) employees working - they often seem just a little bit clueless or confused. I'm sure it's a place that is hard to keep staffed. It isn't exactly full time material. But if you can get past the customer service, you're rewarded with ice cream goodness.

Took my family here the other night and i can see why there is normally a line. This was some really good soft serve and smoothies. The family was very happy with the surprise. I can see this being a locals hot spot since it really does not look like much from the outside. Glad we went and we will be going back!

Ditch dairy queen, and go here. This road side ice cream shop is the kind of stuff america was founded on. Providing simple and delicious frozen treats this walk up stand leaves you feeling reminiscent of the carnival as a Childe boasting items such as "blitzes" which are essentially a fresh not as processed, better quality version of a blizzard, soft-serve with carnival style drizzle of flavors, and the classic dip. The slushies for you non dairy people are next level on a hot day. I'm happy to say I'll be going here whenever they are open, and I'm bringing the whole family.

My friends and I did not have Softies in a few years, and we went there a few days ago, and it was great. We all ordered something different EI, Banana and Blue Goo Flavored cones, and a Mango Smoothie. They were great, and instead of being sedentary we decided to go on a walk, because in our opinions, they are the perfect treat to do so. The employees were friendly and efficient. Overall, 10/10 for flavor, staff, and speed.

Amazing mom and pop ice cream spot. You can seat in your car or outside and enjoy the weather if it's not too hot. Lots and lots of ice cream flavors and combination. Trying the vanilla with toasted coconut next. Don't miss it.

I used to love softies it WAS the best. Now days the service is horrible and the slushy flavors taste old and gross. Today my son ordered a birthday cake dip which is on the menu but they said they can’t do that but he had a birthday cake dip a week earlier. When I received my sons baby cone they handed it to me with the ice cream falling down the side and dripping. Is good customer service just too hard for people these days?

The icecream was very good very tasty I got a dipped cotton candy cone. My daughter got a cup of strawberry icecream and my husband got the sour green apple cone.. but the lady that was at the front taking our order was rude and not good communication with customers.. I'm not sure if I'll go back theirs other good and better places. First time there as well and not too good of customer service.

The ice cream is good and you can get it dipped in all kinds of flavored coatings. Chocolate, strawberry, cherry, and butterscotch just to name a few. The "swirl" cone is my favorite. You get half chocolate and half vanilla. No hard choice to make! Prices are family friendly.

Great selection and fast service! The butter pecan ice cream cone I had was delicious! Definitely recommend stopping and getting a great treat on a nice day. They also have really reasonable prices I think I paid $3.50 for a medium cone.

I really enjoy their ice cream. I love a good soft-serve place, and this is a good one. Chocolate cone is my typical choice. I wish they had better menu signage; that is something this business could improve on. Parking is a little tough, but that really isn't the establishment's fault.

I'm not a big fan of ice cream, but if I was I'd probably visit here frequently. They have great soft serve cones with a lot of topping options - great place for kids. The only downside is a lack of good outdoor seating - I think they have a couple of benches, but that's about it.

This is one of those true local spots. I grew up in Billings and it's been around ever since I can remember. To be honest the ice-cream isn't necessarily mind blowing, it's good though. What makes it stand out, other than it being a local spot, is the variety of different cones, dipped cones, sundaes, and slush drinks they offer.

A favorite of Billings! Really wish they had more options for "green" colored soft serve, but it's understandable. Staff is usually young and not creative. They're priced correctly.

Huge selection and portions, costs less than Dairy Queen by far. Love that they now take debit/credit card. Too often we have wanted to swing in for a treat but passed by due to not having cash. Just wish they would add a tip line on the slip when paying by card. The kiddos accidently drop their ice cream, they have always saved the day making a new treat at no extra cost. Great staff every year; hard workers! Always fun going because you see someone you know there all the time. Great community gathering is always there!

The ice cream treats are great, prices are ok. But, it's basically a shack on an asphalt parking lot. Would be nice to bring in a few potted trees and plants, seating with sun shades, etc.

Great ice cream selection and pretty good service. But the parking lot is terrible!! My friend and I went there this afternoon. She tripped but didn’t fall in a pothole and I fell down and scraped my knee pretty badly and hurt my foot right in front of the Softie’s stand. Fix your parking lot!!! :(

It's seasonal so be sure it is open. Think in terms of craving count Chocula Cereal in January. Gotta have it but it will not be on the market until October. It is worth the wait, but like crack, you might crave it all the time. You just can't sell yourself to get it in the winter.

I have been going to Softies my whole life. It is great to see it still in operation. Not much has changed over the years. Ther serve soft serve ice cream. They have swirl (chocolate and vanilla swirled soft serve), cow (slushie with vanilla ice cream), blizits ( a version of the DQ Blizzard), and flavor birst (vanilla soft serve with added flavor -Buttered Pecan is my favorite)
