I absolutely love the Big Dipper. I discovered it when I went to college in Missoula and was overjoyed when the Billings location opened up. Always great quality, homemade ice cream served with a smile. My fav is the Little Dipper with coconut ice cream and a banana. If I’m not in the mood for that, the strawberry milkshake is to die for or my summertime go to- the root beer float. Thank you for being a wonderful local spot that serves up great ice cream. You guys are the best.

Big Dipper Ice Cream is a great place to grab ice cream with friends and family. The selection is varied and includes interesting (in a good way) combinations. They do offer free samples so that you can try several types. I chose mocha chip, which was absolutely delicious. It was a beautiful evening, so I enjoyed the outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and fast.

Delicious!!! In the summer it's super busy, crazy line, but totally worth it. Fresh made ice cream with unique flavors. Hand made cones, it's great because you can taste before you buy. Shakes, sundaes really big cones you won't leave hungry.

The ice cream itself was great, with an awesome, more-than-generous scoop for a good price. However, I was a bit underwhelmed with the menu. It's hard to explain why, but as a brand new customer, what would've helped is to see pictures of the ice cream with various toppings and maybe some 'local favorites' flare with inspirational combinations and sizes to try. The closest thing that comes to mind is Cold Stone. I didn't see any prominent presentation of the ice cream or toppings. I appreciate that less is more, but sometimes it's easiest to make a choice when I see it (I'm also willing to spend more to get it). Oh, another ice cream shop that comes to mind is Sweet Peaks! Anyways, I look forward to coming back again to try out different flavors, combinations, and maybe learn what other toppings and possibilities they have.

Wow!! My family celebrated the end of the I Love Dance comp in Billings every year with Big Dipper Ice Cream!! Sustainable spoons and packaging. Great stickers. Best ice cream! I had the coconut today and it was better than fresh coconut ice cream I had in Hawaii!

Wonderful ice cream shop in the lovely downtown Billings! Tried huckleberry and salted caramel, they are greatly flavored and moderately sweetened. Nice interior with bright decorations. Only downside is that you can’t see the ice cream, but you can always try as many flavor as you want.

Fantastic ice cream spot! Great flavor variety, great texture, friendly service and generous portions. They let you try a couple flavors, which is good because they have some really unique ones like cardamom (delicious, but not sure you'd want more than half a scoop in a serving) and licorice. I also liked the white mint Oreo. Will definitely go back and try more flavors next time I'm in town!

Big Dipper Ice Cream is a great place to go with friends. While I often go to Baskin Robins, Big Dipper was a new place to go because of their enjoyably different flavors. I had the Black Licorice, it was my first time, and it was amazing. While other places might be cheaper, we believe Big Dipper has higher quality ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy and tasty. Overall, 9/10, factoring in flavors, price, and quality. No real complaints.

Excellent ice cream. Went here for my birthday. The seating is limited and the line was long but the staff were friendly and the ice cream was quality. Their sundaes we're delicious. They have salted caramel and hot fudge that is made specifically for this place. Take some home with you!

Looking at this local ice cream shop, I have found it to be better then other places. The biggest part that I love is that they make the ice cream and one of the cones "in house". They are the only place that carries coconut ice cream. It is my favorite! Compared to other ice cream shops, this place has a better price range. For instance, the shakes here would be almost twice the price at other places. They do have limited seating. That makes it hard to find a place to sit during peak hours, especially in winter. Otherwise, they are amazing!

I utterly love the little dipper ice cream parlor. The cones are always freshly made and mmmmm mmmmm delicious. There are lots of great flavors all freshly made to my knowledge but could be wrong. I think the only problem I have there is the small size benches. It wasn't built for big feet like mine. The ice cream is very yummy otherwise, affordable prices,and great workers. I highly recommend this place to others

Wow! This is an amazing ice cream experience. We are currently on an ice cream tour of the United States and this is our fourth stop. It is by far the best. Everything we tried was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were fantastically affordable. Hooray for Big Dipper!

My husband and I decided to meet our daughter in law there with the 2 grandboys. Great timing on our part as 15 minutes after we got our order it was slammed. I'm not sure why because while the ice cream was good, it certainly was not worth the price! It's in an older building down town that is certainly not set up well for an ice cream parlor. With only 2 people in line ahead of us, you barely got in the door. The menu is posted immediately to your right about 10 ft off the floor. Very difficult to read! Not enough servers, they were struggling to keep up which didn't make for very good service. As I mentioned, the ice cream was okay but do not plan on going back.

Honestly, I just love me some Big Dipper. They have good ice cream, good people, and even when it's slammed you still get in and out quickly. Portions are excellent, and their flavor choices can't be beat (yes, I'm talking to you, Company X). If you want ice cream (that's not soft serve) there's no better choice than Big Dipper.

The ice cream is ok but they give you wooden spoons. I cut my lip trying to eat this. It was unpleasant. I know that it's supposed to be eco friendly but I don't want to eat something that is going to hurt me. I won't be back.
