Such a fun, delicious experience! The staff were so well prepared with knowledge regarding the chocolates and very friendly. It made the visit much more pleasant and we cannot wait to return! Ordered the honey, chai, lavender, and reaper! All were to die for. The honey and lavender were my favorite.

So here's the deal y'all. French Broad Chocolate is great and all, but you can NOT keep sleepin on Asheville Chocolate. Let me tell you why. Super friendly service. The owner is the sweetest human ever. The shop is super cozy and welcoming and has great seating and a great location in downtown. And their chocolates are divine. THE LINE ISN'T 45 MINUTES LONG EVERY NIGHT. But best of all, they dark chocolate vegan gelato. Asheville Chocolate has blessed this city with some amazing gelato, perfect for a warm summer night. And the dark chocolate vegan gelato is by far the most amazing thing i've ever tasted in my 25 years of life on this planet. I have a pint sitting in my freezer as I type this! Get your butt over here ASAP and experience your new favorite chocolate shop in Asheville! Great vegan options and lots of variety.

Piece of heaven... We love this place! They (the owner made it for me) make the best hot chocolate- Death by chocolate!!! The store is trendy, relaxing and pretty. From decorations to displays is delightful. The chocolates, omg! The owner, a young lady, was super attentive and nice, so welcoming. It is a must go!

I love this place. I had really REALLY been looking forward to having my Mexican hot chocolate and was CRUSHED when I was told that they don't have it anymore :( Something about their supplier....that was very disappointing! But they redeemed themselves with their gelato and sorbet. The sorbet was mojito flavored and bursting with freshness! Seriously, it was so bloody good! We had the cappuccino and dark chocolate gelato too and these are just scrumptious! We had the same thing twice in a row. The second time the wonderful server gave me extra gelato which I was EXTREMELY grateful for! He told me that they don't always have the mojito sorbet so if you see if there then you better get it!!!

This place had our favorite chocolate. They have a handful if truffles to choose from, solid milk in a bar or in shapes, and my favorite part was the hot chocolate with a scoup of ice cream.

Absolutely delightful shop with tasty treats and wonderful service. We came in the first night half an hour from close and were assisted by the owner. She gave us the perfect amount of space to make our selections, but was still readily available to answer questions. Our first experience was so positive that we ended up back our second night in town. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. We enjoyed 7 different truffles and 3 flavors of gelato between the two visits and brought m&m bark home for the minions. Everything was phenomenal, with the chai truffle and gelato being my favorites!

Big open area, lots of seating, and plenty of room for large groups and tours and still be within county guidelines. Mask up. The gelato is smooth and creamy and cleanses the palette leaving you wanting more. Neat flavors like PB&J, Lemongrass and Basil (vegan), Mango, Mint Stracciata, Cake Batter, Dark Chocolate, Coffee and more.. I got two scoops and that was plenty big.

My wife and I had to make the frightful decision to put our dog down after 13 years; overladen with cancer and dying we made a decision that will change our household and I was also walking through town my wife texted me that she sure could use some chocolate —so I stopped in and met Morgan in you shop. She is the sweetest young woman I’ve ever come across she bought me a cookie and we both selected some chocolate for my wife I will never forget the moment that a stranger reached out and touched my heart. Not local, so stopped through and the staff were very nice and efficient. Their recommendations were all perfect. Our group tried the PB&J Ice cream and it was surprisingly good. We also tried a variety of chocolates, and the one that stood out was the firecracker; chocolate, cayenne pepper, and pop rocks sounds odd but it worked. It wasn't too hot, and worth a try.

This was some of the best chocolate I've ever had! I got a pack of four truffles, and each one had a unique and delicious flavor. The inside was very spacious and clean, and they were well stocked with plenty of chocolate and other treats.

There aren't enough stars to rate this place! All the employees are knowledgeable about everything they have to offer. I love that no matter how busy it was I was treated like the only person in the room when it was my turn to order. I appreciate that masks are required. This place will definitely get more of my business! Just a thought: When reading the reviews for here I noticed a poor review from someone who was refused service because they didn't have a mask. They didn't have one because they were from out of state and masks weren't required. I don't think a business should have their rating lowered by that type of reviews. Before you travel please take the time to check out the mandate for your destination. You will have a better time by not being turned away and businesses will not have their ratings lowered because you weren't prepared.

Highly recommend. We have been 3 times in two days. The blueberry lavender is an amazing flavor combination where both flavors come out and compliment each other. Of course there are other unique flavors as well. The dark chocolate was rich and reminded me of icing (in taste, not texture). Wonderful assortment of chocolate, too.

Stopped in for some chocolates. The girl behind the counter was able to answer all of my questions in detail, providing information on ingredients, texture, and flavor. They did not disappoint! My favorites were Orient, Honey, and the piece de resistance, Aztec. Great service and great product. Best chocolate shop in Asheville.

She was very knowledgeable on their assortments, asked questions about what kind of flavors they like, and had great recommendations to help balance out the different flavors I was combining. She was awesome. Great service and great chocolate quality. Almost all of their chocolate is made in house, as well.

Friendly staff. Delicious chocolate. The truffles are amazing! The hot chocolate is great on a cold day. My fiance got one of the hot chocolate sundaes (can't remember exactly what it was called), and it was awesome. We will definitely be returning.

Kids ordered truffles and loved the flavors. 3 different ones each. Husband had a ?"Shots in the dark" coffee and it tasted very good. Strong flavor as he loves it. I had milk chocolate with almonds. Which is a challenge cause almonds get moisty very easily. So it has room for improvement. Kid also had a raspberry gelato he loved. 3 scoops that disapeared so we believe him. All items priced accordingly. Big place to rest and recharge after walking. Very. Cozy and clean. Totally worth it and loved the photography exhibit. I hope to see more variety of chocolates when we visit. There is a lot of competition in the mountains so we look forward to the improvements. Super friendly staff. Give it a try.

The Truffles are out of this world. Some of the best I have had. Unique flavors. Wasn’t crazy about the one with peppercorns in it. As good as the Truffles are, I was disappointed in the 72% Dar Chocolate Bar. Quite beautiful to look at but think the taste is sub par compared to their truffles

I was in a total bind doing finals online and was from out of town. I got ice cream and they let me use the wifi in the shop. The ice cream was SO good and the people were amazing. When I asked what they had none dairy, they had more than a few options because their dark chocolate is vegan. I had the Oreo bark and the dark chocolate was very smooth. They also serve excellent gelatos and sorbets.

Best dark chocolate ice cream ever! We tried the hazelnut and chocolate flavors a year ago, and while we were visiting this year my husband asked me to get both flavors of the same dark chocolate and he isn’t a big chocolate person so that means a lot! Fantastic homemade Gelato and French press coffee. Very reasonable. $13 forc2 coffees and 2 double scoop Gelato. Staff was great. Clean restrooms. A couple of cute outdoor tables for 2, fun lounging and some AC tables inside. Chocolates looked great but didn't try.

I really like the sorbet here. They have an excellent blueberry sorbet. The grapefruit, passion fruit, and mango as also good. Their chocolates are also good, but I like the sorbet better. If you are here and want to try the chocolate the Mexican is excellent. It is a cinnamon, vanilla, chili truffle. The contrast of sweat and spicy is very nice in this truffle.

The chocolate here is SO good! It’s pretty pricey, but they make everything by hand. We purchased some truffles and caramels, and they were nice enough to keep them there for us so they didn’t melt when we were exploring the downtown area! The gelato looked really delicious and did seem reasonably priced. I would recommend going here to fix a sweet tooth ASAP :-) we walked here but there is some street parking available.

Such an incredible local shop. The people are very nice, have lots of chocolate knowledge, and take their time with you. Most importantly, you can't go wrong with the chocolate itself--whether it's in truffle form, drink form, or gelato form. It's all phenomenal.

I was only able to try a truffle or two, and some ice cream here during a food tour on my trip to Asheville. It was delicious! Could have easily been Godiva or something fancier. Let them never say the US doesn't have it's own fancy chocolate. I love the way the establishment is nice looking but not overdone/pretentious--just as inviting as your favorite local ice cream shop. But the desserts are fancy confectionary level beautiful and tasty. I'd have tried way more if it had not been the last stop of a totally filling tour. I'll be back though, don't you worry!

They have a few vegan chocolates that are so delicious. I was going to give 4 stars because it's pretty pricey but they're so good I just had to give 5 stars. They also had a vegan grapefruit sorbet that was fantastic!

Super cute chocolate shop with a true local vibe. The gelato is delicious. We had the chocolate and cookies and cream- very rich and flavorful. And the chocolate is phenomenal! The Asheville skyline chocolate bar is primo. My all time favorite so far is the poprock chili chocolate- must try it!! We will definitely be back. Also, the owners are a delight!

This was the least busy place on Saturday night. The other chocolate places had lines around the entrances, even though they were not full ??? We walked to Ashville Chocolate that is also in the same downtown area, close to everything. The chocolate chip cookies are amazing!! They also have really good gelato. I had the chai and it was very unique and savory. The chocolate is pricey, but it's expected in a store like this. The lady who helped us was nice but not overbearing, just super cool! The atmosphere was relaxing and open.

Really excellent raspberry and chocolate chip gelato. The Cookies & Cream was the best I've ever had. The ice cream was dark with the cookies and it was so smooth and velvety in-between the bits of cookie.

Nice chocolate shop! From what I saw they offer chocolate, gelato, sorbetto, coffee, hot chocolate, and teas. They also have cute chocolate gift ideas. Prices are reasonable. We bought truffles, coffee, and gelato and they were all very good. Only complaints would be not being greeted by staff when we walked in, saw this happen with other customers as well and it felt a bit awkward; I would have liked someone to walk me through what they had to offer. I also didn't spot a trashcan inside.

When you go to a chocolate shop and get gelato.. get the dark chocolate! Having eaten gelato all over the nation I have to say THIS chocolate gelato was the best I've ever had. The texture was perfectly creamy with just enough sweet/bitterness balance. The kiddie cup is more than enough but I ate all my double scoop anyways! Prices were fair as well! I'll be stopping by again soon with with a bigger budget and eating all the chocolate for sure.

This place is now located in downtown Asheville. Found it while wondering around downtown, and the adorable and very sweet clerk convinced us to try some truffles. They aren't cheap, but they are pretty much the best chocolate you will ever have. I about died when I tried the pistachio ganache. We are visitors from Orlando and accidentally wandered into this shop, and because of the prices we didn't intend to buy anything but like I said, the adorable clerk convinced us we had to. Boy she was right. It was worth every penny and we walked out of the shop with an expensive box of truffles. Seriously, seriously, the best chocolate truffles we've ever had, and this is coming from a chocolate snob who believes the only good chocolate comes from Belgium and everything else is simply passable. Chocolate Gems is aptly named.

Nice gelato. I had dark chocolate mint chip, and tried the roasted banana Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I also got a bunch of their chocolates: butternut toffee, potato chip, Aztec, lavender, a marshmallow. I usually enjoy Belgian chocolate and sometimes American like See’s; this place was great and had delicious chocolate. I liked the window nook full of plants. Everyone was very nice, friendly and professional; the place was clean.
