Good ice cream. Would have liked it a bit creamier, but it had a good, natural homemade taste to it. We walked in and the wonderful aroma of fresh waffle cones enveloped us. Naturally, had to have one. And glad I did. It was very tasty. A good stop after pizza. Recommend.

What a wonderful place! Came in for the first time this past summer and absolutely fell in love. I walked through the doors with my mom and we grabbed some ice cream to celebrate the day, we were greeted by ALL of the employees which was such a delight. The ice cream was AMAZING and so creamy! I came back one more time before I asked for an job application. For the past 6 months I have had the absolute best time working at this establishment. If you are ever in town it is such a beautiful place to visit and feel like you’ve walked into your grandmas Kitchen!

We absolutely love Big Dipper! Our kids ask for it weekly. Our favorite flavors are the Girl on the Moon and Chocolate Silk. I myself am lactose intolerant. Does this stop me? No. No it does not. Big Dipper offers at least 3 amazing dairy free flavors at all times. Their ice cream is so good that most of the time, I will gladly accept the inevitable discomfort and get a dairy-full, delicious regular flavor. There is always something everyone likes and the kids love spinning the prize wheel when their punch cards are full. A must-have in Palmer or well worth the drive from elsewhere

Smells amazing! Taste amazing! Just discovered cause of new plant shop next door! One of the only ice cream shops in Mat Su who have dairy free options. So Rare having multiple choices to choose from especially having Choice that’s aren’t just chocolate or coconut!! Absolutely will be retuning

Dear makers and creators of Big Dipper. I stumbled upon the flavor Round the Campfire' this summer up at Eklutna and let me tellllll youuuuu. I've had the same favorite flavor ice cream since I was 7 years old... but now at 33 you've ruined me. It is so unbelievably delicious I try to find any excuse to go to Palmer just to have that blissful 10 minutes of ice cream paradise. I feel so strongly about this flavor I want to write ice cream laws that say you can never discontinue it or if GOD FORBID you go out of business you let me come in and show me how the magic is made. I've never done this before but I do some graphic design/website design, social media management and photography & video work and I will GLADY work for ice cream. We were visiting family in Palmer and this is their favorite place to get ice cream and we totally agree!! They make all their own ice cream on site as well as their waffle cones. You walk in and the store smells like warm cinnamon from making their cones. They have some unique flavors too. We went there at least 3 times while were there in Palmer. One day we went twice!! lol

Usually I would give this ten stars I drive from Wasilla to go and the banana cream pie ice cream when they first opened wax the best thing ever not sure if they changed it or what but this time the ice cream didn't have the full banana flavor and it wasn't as full with all the good stuff it was more bland and just not the same so disappointing because this normally is so so so good

When you first go in, the homemade waffle cone smell is heavenly. I had the gingerbread man and my son had the Oreo, it was divine. Best waffle cone I've ever had as well. Atmosphere is cute and kind. Gluten and Dairy free options. They sell prepackaged pints as well. $10 for two cones, one scoop each, including tip- very reasonably priced. 10/10 recommend.

I would go here everyday if I lived in Palmer, AK. The flavors are out of this world and the campfire one is the best s’mores style ice cream in the world, and I will stand by that. Could not recommend this place more.

I got a half vanilla/half pistachio milkshake and it was the best freakin milkshake of my gosh darn life 🤩! I also got a Gluten-free snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich. It too was the best! The flavors in everything are extremely dynamic. You can totally tell they make it themselves. As someone who is allergic to Gluten and soy, I was so grateful that the staff were knowledgeable about what I was able to get. They had a allergies cheat sheet and I was pleasantly shocked. Generally speaking, places tend to not know what they have in their ingredients of food items. This was not the case here. The customer service was top notch and it was an absolutely perfect experience. Thank you guys!!

I was in town doing some work for the Borough and asked Lisa from Big Dipper if she could support an Ice Cream social for a large group of Borough records coordinators. Even though I only asked the night before, she was willing to meet me at her store early the next day where she equipped me with multiple tubs of amazing ice cream. The reviews from the recipients were unanimously great, and I even had 3 servings. Super nice folks, and super amazing ice cream!

Me and my wife came and bought three different ice creams to try, the lemon, snickers, and banana cream ones. They were all extremely well crafted and tasted marvelous. I don't think there is another home grown place in Alaska that could come close to the quality we experienced here. Also, considering they are fairly new, I feel like they have the potential to get better and better and really become something super special as they grow. Can't wait to try new flavors as they add more, you guys are doing great!

The ice cream is to die for. We came back multiple times while visiting family in Wasilla. Staff were always very helpful. We ended up trying several different flavors; each was unique and delicious, and could be a standalone product in any regular ice cream parlor. Highly recommend!

Portion looked a little bit small for $5.50. "It had better be good ice cream," I thought. Folks, it was better than I hoped. Places like Cold Stone have good ice cream, sure. The difference was like expecting a decent speaker and a radio performance of a song, and getting a live band performance instead. The flavors and richness were explosively vivid! I'm having to take my time with this because the flavors are complex and powerful and real. Worth a special trip.

Excellent ice cream and excellent customer service. The owners and employees are very friendly. The line was long when we arrived but moved along quickly. One of the owners came through the line offering us sample cups of their cherry sorbet (which is super tasty by the way). Just that little touch of customer service made everybody in line cheerful.

Great to finally have some homemade local ice cream in the community. Their flavors are great, ice cream is creamy and they have an amazing staff. Only critique I have is that the straws for the milkshakes aren't wide enough and the chunks get stuck in the straw and makes it not drinkable.
