I called Burns and McBride for emergency service on a Sunday morning when my oil heater tripped off and would not reset. They responded immediately after I called the after hours number and a service technician, Chris, was dispatched. Within a hour, the problem was diagnosed, and repairs were made. The unit was running again. He also checked and calibrated everything to the manufacturer’s specs. I was so impressed with his professionalism that I signed up for their yearly maintenance contract which was also very reasonable. I highly recommend this company for any of your heating and A/C needs.

We had our heater go out and our thermostat go blank. I called the 24 hour line and was able to get someone out to our house in about 90 minutes. Shane was excellent, he called before he came to already start diagnosing the problem. When he got there he was quickly able to get things up and running again, but he was very thorough and spent a lot of extra time trying to diagnose any outstanding issues. I was very impressed.

It was sub 35 degree weather and our heating unit stopped working! The temperature in the house had fallen to 52 degrees; 2 days before Thanksgiving! We were referred to Burns and McBride and within the half hour, help was on the way! Talking about relief!! Ryan, the HVAC technician was professional, pleasant and patient (listening to hubby explain how he attempted to troubleshoot the issue prior to his arrival). Update: I purchased the annual maintenance plan for my AC/HVAC. They visited and made sure everything is working properly. Burns & McBride installed a new water heating system in my house over summer 2021. As of today, the system works excellent. The staff that installed the system were professional and knew what they were doing. They even gave me advice on fixing sump pump issue. When winter came around, my hot air heating elements weren’t doing their job. I called Burns & McBride and they fixed the problem on the same day. Turns out the pipes weren’t flushed during the heating system install. When I was getting quotes for the system from other companies I felt as if I was getting ripped off - definitely going for that high commission. They really didn’t inspect my current system, but offered a very expensive price for their recommendation. The quote the these companies left were vague and without any information about the system they were selling. Burns & McBride is the way to go.

I am very pleased with the quality of service I received. The men were polite and came prepared with all the needed tools to do the job.Prior to the men coming out a supervisor came and assessed what would be needed. He took pictures and asked me where I would like the units to be placed.He stated we needed exterior walls etc. and went over with me where the installation would come in and out of the house. I liked the idea that the client was made a part of the process. Additionally the men were timely and worked neatly bringing in their own drop cloths and coverings on their shoes.Upon completion they tested the units and explained to me how to set the temperature with a remote control to the desired temperatures and other features of the unit. I would highly recommend Burns& McBride Home Comfort to anyone.

The crew of Dominic, Keith and Drew did a great job with an installation that was a bit tricky. They took time to see that the indoor unit, with a side connection, was draining properly. They took care of the electrical hookup to a breaker box that I thought would be a problem. Plus, salesman Jim Hess, was the only one who told me about the Energize Delaware rebate program. Dave was the technician who came to help us figure out why we didn't have heat. He quickly determined the problem -- we ran out of oil -- and did a complete system check, to make sure nothing else was wrong. Thankfully he carries 10 gallons with him, he was able to get us up and running temporarily. Dave overall was super helpful, knowledgeable, talked through things so I could understand them while offering reasonable solutions and suggestions. Burns & McBride then came to deliver 300 gallons of oil for us within an hour of him leaving here!

12/19/22 Drew McKinney answered the call promptly and made repairs to our heater. He was courteous, efficient and thorough replacing the igniter and gas regulator and testing the operation. It took approximately 9 hours to bring up the house temperature 20°. Drew did the original installation years ago and Burns & McBride has maintained it very well. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Burns & McBride sent Tom to service our home heater and replace the igniter which had to be adapted to properly install. He got the unit functioning and pointed out some other issues that needed attention after a thorough testing. Tom earned an A+ from me. I highly recommend Burns & McBride and their services. 😊 Thank you! 😊 Matt M. Serviced our AC and repaired a cracked hose. He was very careful during the pandemic and worked well. Another A+ from me. 06/12/2020 Dave G. had the AC covers off and and unclogged the pump in a jiffy. He changed the level of the drain. It's not leaking now. He was prompt, courteous and efficient. I'm very pleased with Burns & McBride service. He could use some knee pads on hard, rough surfaces. 11/20/20 Ryan checked out our heating system on our maintenance contract. He also was prompt, courteous and efficient. No problems were discovered. We're ready for the cold weather in spite of global warming. 6/24/21 Chris checked out our A/C system and cleaned out the pump reservoir to stop condensation from leaking onto the floor. He was prompt, courteous and efficient. 6/30/21 Drew and Tanner levelled and tightened the water tray to stop condensation from overflowing onto the floor. Another five star service call. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/1/2021 Ryan came to do the cold weather maintenance checkup. All is well. Thank you. 6/20/2022 Kevon checked out our A/C system and performed seasonal maintenance. He was courteous, efficient and thorough. My tech was very professional, knowledgeable, and neat. I had four other techs out here to “fix” my heater but the problem kept returning. Andy Reid diagnosed the problem and it is now running as it should. The problem was actually low gas flow. The other techs didn’t realize this. Andy said it was possibly a bad gas regulator. So I called Delmarva and they sent a tech out right away. He was here in 10 minutes. Andy waited for him to arrive and told him about the low gas pressure. The regulator on my gas meter was faulty and it was replaced. Andy ran some tests with the Delmarva tech to make sure there was enough flow. Everything works fine now. Andy went well beyond the call of duty to make sure things were right. He is a true asset to the company.

The two technicians appeared to do a good job. They drilled probe holes in my ducts which had never been done before in 32 years. I am not sure if they were doing a more comprehensive check or if drilling was unnecessary. I had an appointment for a 2 hour window from noon th 2pm--but they came mid-morning. The tech said his order did not show a specific time for the appointment. [I could have said don't come until noon if I wanted to.]

Again, I am happy with all of the information and honesty provided. The estimate seems slightly higher than average but as we all know in some cases you get what you pay for! They installed a missing part on our water heater, that had never been installed and had been ordered months ago. This new part also was defective. Nothing would work. Had to call another tech out to see what is up. turns out, nothing had been turned back on and pushing the switch did not work. We were very happy with the work that Burns and McBride did in replacing our gas furnace and A/C. They were timely, courteous and very patient. My husband was very anxious because we have had bad experiences with contractors in the past. Not this time! They answers all our questions and concerns during the installation work. The work was finished on time (they worked overtime to finish the work in one day), the place was clean at the end of the day, and the furnace was up and running. We were also told that they will have a follow-up visit in about 10 days to see if everything is working as expected and to do any adjustments if necessary. All in all, we had a stress free day during the installation and we are happy with the equipment we got and its installation.

3RD UPDATE: A sudden spurt of warm weather generated a call from Brian, and a visit from Dave on Saturday. Maintenance complete and all is well (the rest of 2020 notwithstanding.) Thanks to all. 2ND UPDATE: After a week of 70°+ weather, I received no call. I contacted customer service, and was told she had my information but there was no technician availability during that time. The owner's previous response made no mention of the possibility they might not come out anyway. So now I'm scheduled for mid-April, which still leaves me with the problem of not being able to document an annual inspection for warranty purposes, since installation was September 2018. Stay tuned... UPDATE: I called the office about the outside unit not being checked. I was told they don't do that after October 15th because of lower outside temperatures. This is the first time this was ever mentioned, including the two scheduling messages they left in September. When I called on October 2nd, I was given a date of November 19th, again with no mention of the 15th cutoff. Disappointing communication, since the Mfr. warranty requires annual inspections. Annual HVAC maintenance. Originally offered us a date one month away, but called early when they had a cancellation. Tech was timely, polite, wore a mask but not shoe coverings ( not sure if that is customary or not.) Tech answered questions about switching from propane to natural gas. I was surprised that inspecting the outside heat pump equipment was not part of the service. Good experience.

Burns & McBride sent Graig out to determine why the Mitsubishi room addition heat pump was putting out very little cool air in June with the outside temperature around 90 degrees. Craig, a great guy, checked out the system unit and said it was low on freon, probably due to a tiny leak. The freon charge worked and I've got nice cold air again. However, it's been about 15 years since I've had to charge up any a/c compressor during my past, and to pay $418 to do it seems like way to much money to spend today. (6-28-19).

He quickly found the source of the leakage of the prion (sp.?) in the A/C unit, soldered it and ensured that the flow of cool air worked as it should. When the new HVAC system was installed two years ago, the existing ductwork installed by the builder around 20 years ago, posed a problem as it was not compatible with the new HVAC system. Chuck and the Service Manager put their heads together, worked diligently, made adjustments to the ductwork without cutting open the ceiling and made it work! I was truly impressed.
