Thomas Amoroso

Very professional communication and service from making an appointment to my technician Haywood coming out to my house. Had a 250v receptacle converted to a 120 GFCI. Haywood followed all safety practices and verified and secured power before proceeding with the installation. Took all around 30 minutes. He even had a spare faceplate to provide for me as I forgot to pick one up. I'll definitely be contacting Michael & Son's for my future home improvement needs.

I was very happy with the service today. The lady who took my service call last night was very helpful. The technician who came out today was Moe and he was very nice and helpful. I have an older home with just one bathroom and they were able to get things scheduled quickly. Moe was very knowledgeable after checking all the drains he explained a couple of options to me, explained the pricing and what would be done with each and was able to answer all my questions and help schedule the repair option I chose for later this afternoon. Moe understood the urgency of getting this taken care of today and worked to get that set up for me. I have used Michael and sons in the past and I highly recommend them. This afternoon the other technician came out to snake the vent on my roof. His name was Dave and he was able to come out even earlier then scheduled. He was very professional and polite. He has a lot of knowledge about plumbing. He was able to solve the problem quickly and everything is working great now! The company has the technician call you ahead of time and they send a text message with a picture and a little write up about the technician so you know who's coming to your home. As I said in my earlier review this is a great company very professional very helpful when you call in and I highly highly recommend them! Big thanks to Moe and Dave today great work much appreciated!!

Eccentric Method

Amazing company! I highly recommend! We had a pipe burst last night and I called and they dispatched Mr. Andrew out to our home and he was able to repair the pipe in a quick, timely and professional manner. My pipe cracked all the way to the spout for my hose. Mr. Andrew tried to salvage my spout, but it was too cracked and needs replacing, I declined the spout replacement as it would have been an additional charge, and he was upfront about it which I highly appreciated. We decided that capping that section of pipe would be for the best as I don't need my hose here in the middle of winter. When I want to have my spout replaced I will definitely call these folks as they are just simply amazing. While the cost might seem to be a bit high, you're not only just paying for their time and parts, you're paying for professionalism and technical skill to make sure that when your problem is fixed, it is FIXED. On top of that, their 24/7 availability was a life saver as my busted pipe was a major leak and if I had to wait until morning my water bill would be way worse than what this is. If you're reading this. Please consider them as your go to for plumbing repair! I couldn't be more satisfied!

I am incredibly impressed! My pleasant surprise began with reaching a human in the evening. They were able to schedule me the next morning, on a Saturday! Thomas was a literal angel. He called before he came, arrived at precisely the beginning of the window, calculated multiple estimates for different possible ways to repair the problem, cleaned and repaired the drains and faucet, and ended up doing my repair for less than I would ever have thought possible. The visit was incredibly fast and efficient and my sink works better than it ever has before! Thomas is a stellar technician!

I needed an electrical outlet installed for an over the range microwave. I called and spoke to a real human who pleasantly scheduled an appointment the next day. The technician, Breon, was early, wore a mask and booties and assessed my work request quickly. He installed the outlet and fixed two other outlets in my kitchen in about 2 hours. He performed an inspection to help identify issues. Great customer service and I am extremely satisfied with my experience.

I called Michael and Son out to my home to service a ceiling fan that had fallen free from its mount. My Electrician Danny Davis showed up on time, called ahead to advise me that he was on the way and even asked where he should park. He showed up at my door wearing a mask and gloves and put shoe covers on before he entered my home. He looked at my ceiling fan and gave me a few options for repair or replacement. He found that the original installers of the ceiling fan had installed the incorrect receptacle and mounting bracket. I had him install the correct one and reinstall the fan and it works great! Thank you so much for sending Danny to my home! My wife and so are consistently impressed with the quality of work and care shown by all of your wonderful technicians. 11/10 will use again.

We used Michael and Sons for our plumbing/sewer problem last month. I initially had a different plumbing company try and repair my backed up sewer. That company cleared the clog for about 4 days only to find the same problem again. Instead of calling them back I called Michael and Son and was lucky enough to have Seth troubleshoot through my problem. He waived the fee to come out and assess and had a few suggestions for me to try prior to committing to their plumbing services. He taught me about city clean outs and how sometimes it’s the city side that’s the culprit. Never have I felt more secure with a professional’s advice. I felt that he was genuinely concerned in resolving the issue while still keeping my best interest at heart. Unfortunately the city was unable to help us for our problem so I did have to call Seth back. Al though Michael and Sons cost more than the initial plumber, they were significantly more thorough in their assessment of the problem and their solution has been effective, unlike the first company. I only wish I had called them first. Next time I have a plumbing/sewer issue they are first on my list because of Seth! Thank you to Seth for his expertise and kindness throughout the whole process!

Great service from initial contact through the installation and demo of the central air conditioner. Techs were on time, polite, thorough and respectful of my home. They made sure all materials being replaced were removed and they cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. Once everything was installed they went through the operation of the new thermostat and made sure all systems were working as they should. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have work done or there whole system replaced.

This is one of those companies that truly lives up to their reputation! Absolutely amazing service and amazing people working for this company. Today we had Asher come by for our maintenance inspection on our HVAC system. He was professional, personable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and genuine. I needed a ring wired floodlight installed on the front of my new house and I wasn’t sure who to call in order to get it done. After a second of looking I found this business and contacted them. They came that SAME day to inspect what i needed done then got scheduled for the installation in a few days. Zach was extremely nice and very courteous of keeping his work clean and not getting his shoes on the floor by putting on plastic guards whenever he walked in. He was quick and very helpful when it came to where I wanted to put the camera as I’ve never had one installed before. He put it in a very nice place where i had a view of everything! I would highly recommend this company for everything but especially for an electrician. I will most certainly be calling again if I need another thing done. Thank you Zach!

We decide you are to replace the unit and he installed that day. They may be a little more expensive, but you can always count on them to deliver.

The service professionals are a notch above other known contractors like Bud…my observation on this project was welcomed and expected, unlike other companies…who easily become offended and flustered when observing….the service was performed as expected professionally. Cost is a percentage above, that said the investment is worth the peace of mind offered by a well-established regional company. Hope this review help choosing the best company for your needs. The replacement of my ductwork was outstanding. The service technicians explained exactly how the replacement would go. Once the work was done they cleaned up their work area as well as any mess they made in my home, witch was not a lot because they had put drop clothes through out my home. Great job and I would definitely use this company again!

Emergency services were able to get out and assess/temporarily stop the situation, will be replacing the water heater. If we would have waited any longer we would have had a hole in our ceiling. Moe came out and was very professional and polite. He addressed the issue and was very transparent with what was going on. While he wasn’t able to fix the issue (it was a specific plumbing issue that didn’t fall under the companies services), he offered some very helpful tips and advice. Any future plumbing tasks will be directed towards Michael and Son. Moe did ask that I let people know that he kicked my dog and cursed at my child. He has a great sense of humor and I appreciate the time he took to make sure I understood everything.

This was our second time using Michael and Sons. The first time was for an AC installation. This time was for a bathroom sink that had no hot water, low water flow, and a slow drain. Joe was here right at the start of the appointment time window. He quickly identified the issue, got everything fixed, and only charged the normal service call fee. I will continue to use Michael and Sons for any repair services that they offer.

We're about to complete our last military move in three days and as I was getting our laundry ready to go, my laundry room flooded. At 6pm, Thanksgiving around the corner, I was scrambling. I called a place, no answer. Called these guys, got the sweetest lady on the phone immediately and she had someone out at 9am to diagnose and repair. We had a clog that was resolved fast. The plumber was friendly and personable. Can't say enough positive things about this company. They really saved us in a crisis situation. A thousand thanks!

My hotwater heater started leaking Friday night. I called Michael and Sons first thing in the morning Saturday and they were able to send someone over only a few hours later. Install of new sink, faucet & garage disposal by the plumbing tech Gage. He is FANTASTIC, FRIENDLY, EXPERIENCED & KNOWLEDGEABLE. Due to me being mislead by the contractor for my kitchen cabinets the size of my kitchen sink 36”L x 10” D did actually matter. Gage however was able to get everything hooked up & working. I am thrilled to finally have it installed & working properly. THANK YOU GAGE!!!

Had a water heater leak and ended up getting a new water heater installed. The installers found another leak inside the wall. Called many plumbing companies but they were all booked for over a week. Michael and Sons were able to come that day but we chose the following day. They even called and changed to an earlier arrival time. Tabitha Potter the plumber that was sent out was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to fix the leaking pipe in an awkward space behind the newly installed water heater. She did an awesome job. Will definitely use them again in the future.

***Updated*** The company was responsive and they took a second look at the bill. After reviewing it they knocked off 30%. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the work was good. The plumber was professional and took care of the problem. They promptly resolved my complaint and now have a happy customer. Old Post (below) Good work...horrible pricing that's simply not worth it. The plumber unstopped my kitchen sink, but the price was literally through the roof. He ran the snake to unclog the drain. It took less than an hour and the price was more than a PS5. I'll never use this company again because of their sky high prices. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for a good service but this felt more like being scammed.

We had a minor electrical emergency, and Michael & Sons were the only ones who were able to come out on such short notice - unfortunately for us, the appointment didn't make it through the system, but the lady my wife spoke with was amazing, and she managed to get us an appointment the same day. The tech showed up early, was polite and knowledgeable, and knew what the issue was before we finished describing the problem. The problem actually wound up being a Dominion Power issue, but our overall experience was such a positive one, we'll be coming back to M&S in the future

I will never use another HVAC repair company. These guys were incredible. The company that built my unit blew me off for over a month trying to schedule me in for a repair, in the middle of November/December and my house was 45 degrees.. I contacted Michael and Son and made a diagnostic appointment for the NEXT DAY. At the diagnostic appointment, the technician that came out was super thorough and actually ended up fixing my system during the diagnostic! $89 out the door for the service that took over a month to never even get scheduled with the other company I tried using. 100% excellent company and service. Couldn't recommend more. Shoutout to the technician, Daniel! Thank you for the great work!

Edited - Company refunded deposit, which is greatly appreciated. If we had been able to use their services, they were very quick to respond to the request for a call. When I called to set up the appointment I was very, very clear that I was looking for an electrician that would be able to run power to a sign we had installed roadside. I confirmed with the dispatcher where the sign is located in relation to our building and she assured me this is a service they provide. Unfortunately, the company does not have the needed equipment and this is NOT a service they provide, but I was still required to pay the deposit. The technician was very nice and understanding and of course it was not his fault that he was sent on a call that should have never been scheduled.

The 2 technicians that came to work on my tub faucet were very nice and professional. They fixed a very leaky tub faucet that was gushing a lot of water. They explained what they did and the further work needed. The biggest thing I felt was they were not there to cheat me. Our house in Norfolk has some crawlspace water issues after a heavy rain storm and damaged some duct work. Being that our system was nearing 20 years old I decided to swap it out from all electric to a gas package unit. This included running a new gas line, ripping out all of the duct work and setting a new package unit. Josh & Leo were the technicians who performed the removal and the installation. First and foremost, these guys spent 3 days under our house fixing it all. They were extremely professional, respectful, and good at what they do. Having two kids at home doing virtual school, they were also extremely respectful and patient with a 5 and 6 year old watching over them and asking questions and being kids. Employees like Josh and Leo are reasons why people keep coming back to a company/brand. Kudos fellas. After getting three different prices, M&S was the middle of the road and had the best financing option. 0% for 36 months was really kind of the main reason. One of the other three companies was nearly 12K more expensive so definitely make sure you get more than one or two estimates. I would definitely recommend these two guys from Michael & Sons to do your install. I don't know if you can request by name, but that is who Id go with again if I had my choice.

I had a portion of my outlets and electric services go out from some form of trip. Michael and son sent an electrician, Haywood Sorey, the very next day. He was professional and took the time to troubleshoot every aspect of the outage. He wasn't able to find what caused the short and had to schedule another appointment with the intent of diverting power from another source. When he came back, he had actually thought about what could be the problem after he left, traced some more cabling and discovered the problem. Problem solved, outlets work and he since he didn't have to do the power divert, I was only charged the initial troubleshooting price from the first visit. I couldn't be more impressed with Michael and Son, and Haywood Sorey is the pinnacle of customer service, professionalism, and expertise.

While on vacation our daughter who was house sitting texted and said the AC was not working. Not fun in the middle of July. Really not fun when I still had a week left on the temporary job I was doing from home. We called and the first available repairman could come a week after we called. Not happy, but I understand, the middle of the summer is your busy time. Tech came out, looked at the 17 year old unit and tried to get it working again. Unfortunately it stopped working an hour after the tech fixed it. He called for James Spagnuolo to come out to look at the house to replace the entire unit. Not something we were really prepared for, but again it was a 17 year old AC unit and parts of the HVAC system were original to the 30 year old house. James was able to give us a heat pump system AND have it installed the next day. At that point we had been over a week and a half with no AC in the middle of July. Jerell showed up that morning and was very professional, worked on getting our heat pump unit installed during a very hot day. Breon hooked up the electrical part of the unit. All 3 men were very professional and at the end of the day we had working AC which we were very thankful for.

Outstanding customer service. Once the tech was on her way, I received a text indicating who was coming, an explanation of her qualifications, and a personal note about her interest outside of work. I received a phone call from the tech because the address was wrong in the computer. After she verified the address she told me how long it would take to arrive. When she arrived, she evaluated the problem and then got straight to work with prepping the work area to protect the counter tops and floors. She diagnosed the problem in about 10-15 minutes and presented two possible courses of action. She began working on the less expensive option until it became evident that was no longer possible. Dave came to unclog my bathroom sink drain which has been an ongoing concern for a few years. I had an HVAC system completely replaced and had to call after 730 due to a water leak. The dispatch originally had me scheduled for next week which was fine. We can make due…but we ended up getting a call 5 min after hanging up that a technician Ash, would be on his way to look at the unit. Ash showed up in 15 min, with a smile and all equipment needed, and figured out what the issue was. His demeanor and great attitude was awesome. Especially, to come and work on an HVAC unit in the middle of the evening. He even set up a time for another team to come out in the am and finish the repair. I’m so glad we chose Michael & Son’s for our install. I will also request Ash to do our HVAC seasonal maintenance.

Michael & Son Service was a joy to work with! Our water tank heater went out, so we thought. Having only cold water was not fun at all. Turns out it was an electrical component, the breaker... It was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. James and Giorgio were our technicians. Two different issues called for two different jobs. Which was still a reasonable price compared to a company I called prior. They also send updates of how far out they were and photos of the person that's coming to your house! Truly grateful for that! My downstairs AC unit stopped blowing cold and ran constantly. I called them and the receptionist was very friendly and courteous. She was able to set me up with an appointment the same day just a few hours after I called. The technician, Emerson, arrived well within the time frame scheduled, and even called a half hour before he arrived to let me know he was almost here. He was also very friendly and courteous and was cracking jokes with me and had me laughing in no time. Great guy! He was able to figure out what was wrong in less than two minutes, a bad dual duty capacitor. He replaced it, and checked a few more things to ensure that was the only issue and had my house cooling down quickly. Well…because I was being hard headed I had to call Michael and Son. I plugged in a heater where I was told several times not to and I tripped the breaker and all the living room stuff stopped working. I tried to reset the breaker but it didn’t work. So I called M&S and the lady that took the service call was great! I told her my secret and she thought it was hilarious (I didn’t want my boyfriend to know, but he ended up getting the service request email lol). So they were able to send an electrician out the next day to fix it. The electrician was kind and professional. He made sure everything was working before he left and made sure I was satisfied.
