Mike Lewis has been my HVAC Technician for around 7 years. He is always professional, friendly, respectful, and very knowledgeable. He takes time to explain the work he performed, how the system is working, and the why when a part needs replaced. He was instrumental in providing me three system recommendations to research when I needed to replace my failing heat pump. When we met to discuss my choice, he graciously dove into more in depth technical details to answer my questions so I could make the best informed decision. I have had my new Heart Pump for over 4 years and absolutely love it! It is the best system for my home and for me. Kudos to Mike for his recommendations and excellent service!!!

A Premier Home Inspection

Danny came out to troubleshoot my heating system and provide me a second opinion(free I might add). He was communicative before he arrived and while he was here. He engaged in conversation with me and answered my questions patiently. He provided options and recommendations without being pushy. All in all I was very happy with how the appointment went and hope Air Specialty is able to perform my repairs in the timeframe that they are needed!!

Our technician was Mike Lewis and he went above and beyond to figure out what was going on. He was thorough, knowledgeable and clearly explained what was going on. He came across as someone who enjoys their line of work and genuinely wants to solve the actual cause of what has gone wrong. We've had ongoing AC issues with a newer system that was installed by the previous owner. The initial HVAC company that came out did not fix the actual problem nor could they find out what was causing the problem. This went on for several months. I contacted Air Specialty Heating & Air Conditioning about a split system heat pump that had stopped working. They were able to have a technician at my house within a couple hours. Dan quickly diagnosed the problem (electrical issue), corrected it, and confirmed refrigerant levels were correct. I was very impressed by Dan's professionalism and knowledge (I'm an HVAC engineer myself so can tell a good tech from a bad one). Dan is the best I've ever seen in action. This firm will be the first call I make for anything HVAC.

I called Air Specialty for a second opinion regarding replacing my HVAC evaporator coil. They came out the very next day. Luke & Anthony arrived on time and were both incredibly polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They ran numerous tests to try and find a smaller fix than replacing the entire evaporator coil. Unfortunately the coil did in fact need replacing, but Luke worked with me and gave me an extremely fair quote for the work needed. I’m so happy this company showed up on my initial Google search because they’re truly a delight to work with, making a tough situation much easier. Also, shoutout to Joy for being so darn amazing when I called.

First had their maintenance service for a couple of years and was very pleased. So when it came time for a new heat pump system they were my first choice. Didn't wait long and the new system was installed. I upgraded to a more energy efficient system. Everyone I came in contact with has been super helpful. Reyna gave the quote, and Joy and Jamicia have always been so patient with me and my many questions. Great company ! UPDATE: 1/30/23, woke up with no heat. Called 9am and they sent Mike that afternoon. He discovered the issue, fixed it and solved the problem. Mike's the best!!

BLUF: Courteous, professional, they believe in customer satisfaction and stand behind their work. Unfortunately I had a poor installation. Initial install in May 2021 was on time, the main office was very accommodating and polite with scheduling. When first a/c day in June rolled around, a/c didn't work. Outstanding service provided by the technician, Barry Derr, who corrected the improper wiring done at the installation. January 2023, noticed water accumulating around the unit and when I took the front panel of the unit off, there was significant rust and water in the unit (now 1.5 yrs old). One of the condensation pvc pipes was leaking (connected without compound), again a problem stemming from the installation. Air Specialty had Mike Lewis out there same day, diagnosed the problem, and scheduled a full unit replacement install within 2 days to be covered under warranty. Again, excellent customer service.

Air Specialty installed my downstairs unit before I bought this house and it had come to the end of its warranty. They sent a tech out to inspect both the indoor and outdoor unit for free. My tech was Chandler and he was very professional, knowledgeable, on time, and most of all he didn’t try to sell me some trash I didn’t need. He explained to me the maintinance plan they sell but only because I asked him to and gave me his recommendations. But he didn’t try to force the issue and because of that I’m considering buying the plan. I would certainly use Air Specialty again especially if all their techs are like Chandler.

Yesterday we had new heating & AC units install. We are very happy that we went with Air Specialty. From the time we talked to our sales lady Reyna we knew we had a good company. First of all Reyna was extremely knowledgeable and helpful to make sure we had the right unit for what we needed. She’s went out of her way (even after hours) to talk us through questions and concerns we’ve had. She’s great!! The installation was great! Two young guys Matt and Tanner from beginning to end were very respectful, professional and polite (a rarity to find these days). We had an electrical issue with one of the disconnects outside so they called the office and the Mgr had an electrician out right away. I’m impressed that they took care of the issue right away instead of saying, we’ll have someone out in a day or two! The system has been installed, a couple of small items that are being addressed but overall We made the right choice going with you guys! I had a American Mechanic guy come on July 18 because AC was not working for 2 days. Mechanic came here and turned it on and it worked?! He supposedly checked inside and outside and said all was good. On Aug 9 AC stopped working again so I called them. My son thought it maybe the thermostate and he provide one. A.M. came again and installed it, AC working again. Now I have paid them $750 for both visits. On Aug 24 my AC stops working again. American Mechanical wants to charge me full price and can get here next week. I told them to forget it. I called your company and Dan was here within 2hrs. He found the problem right away. My system was freezing up the whole time. He fixed it and had my AC running in a 1/2 hour! Thank you! I would recommend you ONLY to others. June Ehrgott (tenant)

Chandler came out on a Sunday outside of normal business hours to diagnose my furnace that wasn't heating. He was professional, quick, had great communication, got the system up and running as well as double checked to make sure we were good. He went through to each register with a temp gun to make sure the whole house was heating normally. Price was reasonable and even though I expected him to try to sell me on a yearly maintenance schedule, I never felt pressured to sign up - no fear mongering that without their service schedule I was doomed for system failure. Honest, reliable, small local business. 10/10 would use again and recommend.

Luke was on time and did a great job of checking the system to ensure all was working as it should. Thank you Luke and thank you Air Specialty. Do not hesitate to contact this company. I have been dealing with this company for almost two decades now and have referred several of my friends and others to them. The company is honest, which is hard to find in many companies these days. I have had two HVAC systems installed and both were done in a completely professional manner in a timely way. Whenever maintenance was needed they responded quickly and efficiently repairing only what was needed. We were never charged for something that was not required and the costs are reasonable. We needed to replace our old system as it was approaching 16 years and you can no longer get the refrigerant to repair it. This last HVAC, Reyna the technician came to the house, saw what was currently installed and made several suggestions on what should replace the existing unit. We were given different cost ranges and finance options as well as different HVAC units to choose from. Once the decision was made it was a matter of days till our new unit was installed. William and Emory did a magnificent job on the installation taking the needed time to ensure everything was correct and functioning properly. They filled out the paperwork and helped to explain the functions and maintenance of the system. We are now enjoying a much more comfortable house with a much greater in efficiency system. We are awaiting a return visit from Reyna as the company always has a technician check the installation after completion to ensure the customer is satisfied. Thank you Air Specialty.

We were renters in a house overseen by Abrams Realty. We requested help with a Air Condition system that stopped working during the most recent heatwave. Even though it was late afternoon the request was acted on quickly and Air Specialty sent a man that evening. He determined that the Thermostat had gone bad and because they had installed it they were fast to find the original was under warranty. My old HVAC system was worn out and needed replacement. I called Air Specialty based on a friend's recommendation. They scheduled a technician to come out and give me an estimate within a few days. The technician showed up a few minutes before the scheduled time. After a thorough inspection, Reyna was able to give me two estimates on the spot for a lower-end and higher-end system. The system took a while to get delivered because of supply chain issues, but I was contacted the day the system came in and scheduled for installation the very next day. The two installers, Tanner and Matthew, arrived ahead of the scheduled time. After a brief discussion and description of the location of all necessary work areas, the gentlemen went to work. I don't recall that they took any breaks and they were able to finish the job in far shorter time than was estimated. About 5 hours to completely replace the heat pump, air handler and thermostat. They swept up and removed the entire old system. The new system is very quiet and I am completely satisfied.

This company is amazing! I cannot thank them enough for taking care of our furnace during this winter. First, I talked to an amazing receptionist named Jamicia. When we talked, I was extremely stressed out about the repairs. I had a couple of technicians from my home warranty come out before Air Specialty and they never fixed the furnace. She handled my stress very well and set an appointment for a diagnosis with care. Mike is an incredible technician who walked me through what was exactly wrong with the furnace. When he presented me with the invoice, I was shocked at the value! I felt that the repairs needed would have been way more expensive. Mike an his crew came out to my home about a week after the diagnosis and on time as promised. They fixed the furnace and duct work as needed in a reasonable time (about an hour and a half). Don’t question it… just GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They WILL take care of you and are the sweetest professionals!!

Very hot summer, ac is not cooling…not a happy household. Called AC Specialty; very responsive and accommodating. Diagnostic appointment scheduled for the following day….but there was a cancellation so technician arrived by noon. Barry was knowledgeable, professional and super friendly. We live in a condo so Barry had to climb a ladder to the broiling hot rooftop; no complaining just got right to it. He was able to diagnose the problem swiftly and carefully explained the remedy. They were very cheerful and positive while working in a hot attic. They left our home clean and cool. Joy was our contact person. Prior to calling Air Specialty, we had seven different technicians from other companies come out and “fix” our issue just to have it go dysfunctional again two or three days later. Five Stars! Received outstanding HVAC service from Dan Hibbert, Air Specialty & Air Conditioning. On July 19, 2021 my air conditioner became inoperable and the house became unbearably warm. The outside unit was fully operational. It had power, the capacitor was in good condition, and the fan blades were turning properly. However, no air was blowing from the vents inside the home. I consider myself a handyman, but I was perplexed. This was beyond my capability and expertise. That night I contacted Air Specialty Heating & Air Conditioning, After Hours Care. On July 20, 2021, at approximately 8:00am, I received a call from seasoned technician and US Army veteran, Mr. Dan Hibbert. Dan and I spoke briefly over the phone and narrowed down the problem area, an inoperable interior fan motor. In light of the issue, the staff worked the schedule and fit me in for a same day evaluation, 2:00pm. Dan contacted me over the phone and arrived earlier than scheduled, 12:00pm. He was highly professional, very hospitable, and extremely knowledgable. Upon inspection, he confirmed that the interior unit fan motor was inoperable and needed to be replaced. The staff expedited the order and the fan motor arrived early. I was scheduled for install on July 22, 2021- very fast. Dan arrived at 2:00 pm, removed the old part, and installed the new fan motor within 40 minutes. He had all the right tools for the job. Moreover, he was fast and efficient. The air conditioner was up and running, and the beach house was back to a frigid 67 degrees within the hour. Thanks Dan for your service and for repairing my air conditioning unit. We have used Air Specialty in Norfolk for 12 years. They successfully replaced our ancient oil radiator heat system with a natural gas system using ductwork. They installed three high SEER air conditioning systems for our three zone house. This was quite an undertaking in an 81 year old house. Air Specialty pulled it off beautifully. I had problems with my ac not keeping my upstairs cool. I called the company that installed the unit. they Told me it was working properly and i needed to remove the media filter for better air flow. But around 78 was as good as it gets on a 92 degree day. I decided to get a second opinion from Air Specialty. Mike Lewis was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He ran the gamut on our system, checking every part to see why it was not keeping our home cool. He was able to find some issues that seemed related to the install. He explained what he would like to try, and was up front that it may not completely resolve the problem, but it would be much cheaper than replacing the entire part and likely would show improvement at least. I felt confident in his recommendation. He set up to have a small part ordered and we scheduled the fix for the next business day. He showed up on time, explained what he would be doing and and got to work. After completing the job, he sat down and walked through his post fix tests and they showed good improvement to functionality. But he said we would need to monitor for the week to be sure. Over the next 4 hours, the upstairs temp dropped from 80 to 73. We hadn’t seen below 78 during the day in weeks. It was literally 100 degrees outside and we were basking in the cool crisp conditioned air supplied by modern technology and Mike Lewis. 11/10 would call again.

They called me back promptly and the technician (I think his name was Dave) asked me some questions and had me check a couple of things. He told me it was likely the drain line was clogged or the drain pan had standing water. I drained the pan and cleaned the drain line with a shop vac as he suggested. My husband and I had a new HVAC system installed in 2015. We didn't have the home zoned and was interested in getting it zoned for the 2 floors. an electrician referred me to them and what a wonderful reference. They were professional, clean, on time and did a great job. Scott Geiger was here with an assistant to do the job. They were both wonderful. There was a slight problem with the install but they resolved it very quickly and came back out on my schedule to resolve it. They educated me on the system as well as how to use the zoned thermostats. I would highly recommend their services.

Awesome work by the Air Specialty Co. Michael Lewis was the technician who came out and assessed our initial problem. Mike explained everything in terms that I could understand. He was very respectable to me, my wife, and my house. He wore booties on his shoes so he would not track dirt in the house which was awesome because we just had new carpet installed 3 months prior. Mike told us exactly what we needed. He set us up with a new ac system and duct work (which was needed badly) and set us up with a day to get the equipment installed. Mike told us three days for the work and it took exactly three days for the work to be completed. Mike is an awesome guy and a great asset to the company. I bought the new ac system, duct work, and dehumidifier for the crawlspace because of him. The gentlemen who came to install the duct system were on time, nice, polite, and respectful with our house. They hit a snag with the duct work in our attic but fixed the problem quickly and finished on time. The system works great! Our electric bill has gone down from 30 to 40 bucks. Yesterday I changed the thermostat and raised the temperature in the house up 3 degrees, the new system heated the whole house another 3 degrees in ten minutes. Really fast. I used this vendor to possibly purchase a new HVAC system. The reason being was a previous vendor declared my compressor was shot and being a 9 year old system, that it wasn't worth replacing the compressor, that I needed a whole new HVAC system. That didn't make sense to me so I called Air Specialty to get a second opinion. The first thing that the tech, Reyna, did was to check the capacitor. I actually called this vendor to get a second quote on a new system and to get their opinion if I even needed one. Reyna went out of her way (She was requested by me for second opinion on new system-not a service call) to ensure that it was indeed a shot compressor. It was not! It was actually a inoperable Capacitor. So I didn't need a new system after all, just a replacement capacitor. It is very refreshing to know that there are still honest people working in the HVAC industry. I cannot say enough good things about Reyna and this company. Especially Reyna! She was honest and fortright with me and did not try to hoodwink me with a bogus sales pitch. She was professional and really knew her stuff. I would advise anyone to utilize this company. Especially Reyna as she was honest, tech savvy on HVAC systems and will not try to sell you something you don't need! Needless to say, a huge expense was halted by Reynas honesty and sterling work ethic. She had an old capacitor in her work truck and made my system temporarily work until a replacement cathepacitor could be ordered/installed. Unfortunately the capacitor she replaced gave up the ghost that evening. I had a friend who happened to have a matching capacitor that would work with my system and being so hot I opted not to wait over the weekend to have air specialty install it the following week. I was not charged by Reyna for the awesome information she afforded me and now my HVAC system is good to go. THANK YOU REYNA YOU'RE AWESOME! Ask for Reyna anytime you may have to purchase a new system as she will not steer you wrong and will deliver a sterling work ethic that will impress you.

I am extremely happy with the system which Air Specialty sold us. I spoke with the company's owner Justin Mathews on a Saturday. The next day, Michael Sims, their comfort advisor, called to make an appointment. We met the next day and he inspected our home and advised us as to what system would work best in our house. The installation took two days. On the first day, Michael met the installers, Anthony who was the lead installer and his apprentice Derrick at our house. Michael stayed to get the process started. Anthony and Derrick worked very well together. It was clear that Anthony took an interest in teaching Derrick his craft and both worked very hard. In fact, over the 2 days it took to install the system, they never took a break, not even for lunch. They were courteous, thorough and neat. When the installation was finished, Michael returned to examine the work. The system has worked perfectly. In May I had a mini split system installed in a room that was a garage. The previous owners of my house had sealed the room, but due to the lack of installation I could not keep it cool in the summer or warm in the winter. I talked to 4 local ac and heating companies and quickly narrowed it down to two. The prices were about the same from both, but the appointments were very different. Air Specialty in Norfolk VA looked at my situation and explained the different options that I could consider very clearly. They explained how efficient a mini split system was and reviewed the different manufactures’. I went with a Mitsubishi mini split unit and I love it. The installation was fast and right on time. Justin said it would be quiet and he was right. Recently my next door neighbor came over to check it out and ask if it was quiet and I said I think so, it’s running right now. She was surprised. So far this year my room stays nice and cool. I just set the remote and forget it. I love the fact that I don't have to crank up the AC for the whole house to try and cool this room. These guys are awesome! Over the Memorial Day (2018) weekend the AC Unit at my rental house went out. If you recall it was quite warm that weekend and my tenant was sweating! I notified Joy at Air Specialty I needed emergency service and true to her word the technician arrived. Upon his arrival, Dan, determine the cause of the outage and behold had a replacement part on his truck. Total time from initial contact to the unit being repaired was about 4 hours. Purchased a New High Tech Variable Speed 20 Seer Ruud AC unit, New 95% Gas Heat unit, additional new returns and all new ducting. The Air Specialty Sales & Installation Team was great to work with. Thanks Hunter, Emory & Josh. As with all really new high tech equipment coming onto the market there can be some small start up issues. Air Specialty was always there no matter what or how late to correct any small start up issues and get the unit dialed in and has been running excellent ever since. Keeps the house at 68 degrees even when Heat Index is at 105 degrees. My wife loves it! The owner (Justin) follows up and will return phone calls. The company is big on satisfaction of the customer and the transaction. For the month of June which was really hot, we saw a $80 reduction in energy cost vs. the replaced AC unit. I would highly recommend using Air Specialty. Looking forward to see how the new heating unit will perform over the winter.

My AC has stopped working the evening before. I checked the breakers and changed batteries in my thermostat but it still will not come on. I called the office in the morning and spoke to Jamaica who was very friendly and helped in arranging payment options that work for me. Mike my technician came out and he was very friendly, put booties on to walk through my house which the floors we're probably dirtier than his shoes LOL. He looked at the thermostat, went to my garage and look at the furnace, noticed that the emergency switch on the wall had been flipped off. I had put back a pan on the top shelf next to the switch and had flipped it off by accident. Turned it back on and it started up immediately. He went outside, the unit was running fine, checked the lines and said everything was working fine. Thanks so much for solving my problem so quickly. I left the showroom feeling good about the information he shared and he never mentioned any compensation for the time he spent with me.The recepyionist,Samantha, was very helpful in arranging my visit with Justin.I got home from this visit and decided I needed to give this company some business to reward them for the time he spent with me. I called back in and requested a specific technician I had met in the showroom to come to my house and service my 3 mini splits.Dan came out and like Justin answered all my questions on the proper use of my mini splits. While he was servicing this equipment I asked him some questions concerning my heat pump behind my house.After sharing with me his guess that my unit could have some problems due to it's age(21 years)and offered to take the top off which as he guessed had several cracks which could have very easily been leaking carbon monoxide in my house.He was going to condemn my unit but never put any pressure to deal with potential solutions to solve this problem through Air Specialty.I had to encourage him to share my options and what a new unit would cost with his company.It was an easy decision to order a new unit through Air Specialty. He even offered to waive his cost for the service he had already provided that day which was unsolicited. Kathy at Air Specialty called me and let me know they had a cancellation and could install my new unit that Friday.On that day I met Scott,Emory, and Cameron. Less than 4 hours later my new unit was installed, the old unit carried off, my yard totally back as it was before they arrived and all my questions answered on the new unit.When I called the following Monday to share my appreciation they even helped a low technology person how to do this and share it on Google. Used this company to repair my Rheem HVAC system. AIR Specialty was very understanding to my age and health conditions. Reya was sent out ASAP to diagnose the problem. Within 10 minutes, she analyzed the problem as being in the upstairs unit in lieu of the outside unit. 28 Nov- Dan came to the house for normal maintenance that we requested. He changed the filter and checked for proper operation of our unit. We had asked for a regular service contract with Air Specialty and was given some choices on what we needed. We are now on regular service. While he was checking things out he discovered a damper was not operating, he ordered the part and would reschedule the repair when it came in. We also talked about air quality in our house and what was available to improve it. We were given some literature and referred to some utube videos to learn more about the UVPhotoMAX and some quotes on it's cost to us. We said would get back to Dan later with our decision. Dan was very professional and we felt no pressure to purchase anything. We are very happy to contract Air Specialty and will recommend them to our friends. 5 Dec Dan arrived on time as scheduled for the repair of the damper and to install the UVPhotoMAX unit. We are happy that this will improve our air quality. The repair was made on the damper and now it is working properly. The UVPhotoMAX was installed and it's operation was explained in detail. Everything was completed in a short time and he cleaned up and trash removed.

First off, we have used Air Specialty for years, both in our homes and a local business. They have always been fast, courteous, and competitively priced. During last year's semi-annual service, the technician showed me the coil and housing of our 5-year old Goodman 2-ton gas pack was corroding, but was holding refrigerant. We opted to wait a year and see what it looked like this year. Sure enough, it was much worse and it had begun to lose refrigerant. They scheduled one of their Sales Reps (Michael) to talk us through the options. Michael allowed us 100% flexibility in setting the meeting time around my work schedule, he answered all my questions, and didn't pressure me at all. When our new unit (2-ton, 14 SEER, American Standard (made by Trane) was delivered, they originally scheduled ~6 hours. The two gentlemen who arrived for the install quickly removed the old unit and installed the new one (about 4-SQ'). I still don't know how they handled and moved that new unit without a scratch or damage to our adjacent foliage! The new unit was on and cooling down our house in about three & a half hours from arrival, including installing a new thermostat inside!! Once everything was buttoned up and ready for my walkthrough, they took the time to explain the unit and the setting of the thermostat. They were on their way within the quoted six hours. Absolutely satisfied, again! Thanks!

The sale advisor, Michael, was easy to talk to, looked at my system, knew what I would need, and worked hard to get me the best price. The service provided was excellent, as was the crew he sent to do the job. Scott and Willie were friendly and enthusiastic about doing a great job. While they had some difficulty with my pipes and finding a fitting that would work without leaking, the installation crew worked long hours tirelessly trying to find a solution, and after a couple of tries they landed on a great option to keep the supply pipe connections from leaking. Scott, the installer, went above and beyond to ensure I was happy in every way. Willie, the other installer, was super helpful, walked me through the system at the end, and is that happy guy who stays positive and makes everyone around him happy to work with him. The office staff was very helpful, did everything I asked quickly and provided terrific customer service. If there is a negative, it is minor: my door was accidentally damaged and the staff is working hard to make it right and I am waiting on that repair, and I had to add a unit filter device (an additional $180) to my unit afterwards which I think probably should have included with the unit (and pre-installed). All in all, though, a great experience. and I would recommend them to all my neighbors and friends. In fact I did and am thrilled that they offer a $100 referral fee! I highly recommend Air Speciality and know they'll do a great job at a great price.

I had an issue with my packaged HVAC unit and called Air Speciality to have it repaired. I spoke with Josh, who attempted to initially help me over phone with a unit reset in order to avoid a diagnostic charge for a home visit. When that didn't work I scheduled an appointment with the office and was scheduled for the same day. Around my scheduled timeframe, I received a text message from Air Speciality containing a picture of Josh and informing me he was on his way to my home. Josh also called me to let me know his ETA. Josh arrived when he said he would and was extremely personable, professional and knowledgeable. They consistently perform all the necessary service expected of any HVAC company, whether you have a service contract or not. Recently we learned of another way Air Specialty is raising the bar for the competition and exceeding this customer's expectations. We don't currently have a service contract, so it was quite a surprise when a service tech, Dan, called and ask if it was a convenient time to come by to see how your system was working. He explained that the company has a program called "Charitable Giving Time". It encourages their tech to provide a few hours doing small tasks on the company's dime. Dan was here for almost 2 hours. He changed out the A/C filter. While he was in the attic, my husband had him check out the roof vents and exhaust fan connections to the roof vents. My husband's a skilled handyman who oversees every project, whether a repair or an installment by outside contractors. He was very pleased by Dan's professionalism and focus, as well as impressed by the general business practices of Air Specialty Heating and Air Conditioning.

I found Air Speciality Heating & Air Conditioning through a Google search. I wanted someone to come to my home and give me a free estimate on upgrading my system. Andy Sutton came to my home and climbed into my attic space to check my system specs he didn't BS me over what I needed to upgrade my system. He gave me an on the spot quote which came out to be about $20.00 dollars more than the actual cost...not his fault as we requested to have Carrier products installed. We booked the install and the office staff scheduled us and processed our payment quickly (thanks Samantha/Cathy). Unfortunately about 9 days in our outside unit made a terrible noise and wasn't operating correctly. I called up Air Speciality and they had a service person out to look at the unit within a couple of hours (on a Saturday). Dan Hibbert their Service Field Supervisor came out opened the rear panel on the outside unit and noticed a power wire wasn't properly attached. He explained the reason the system wasn't operating correctly to me (and even offered to explain it to my wife!) He took his time and checked for other issues and the refrigerant level. He said he would be back in two weeks for a quality check on the system. Samantha kicked off a quality experience, Andy came in and secured the business (and potentially future business), Cathy made all the behind the scenes stuff effortless and Dan came in and made sure it was right. We relocated to Chesapeake, VA last summer and purchased new construction. Ever since we moved in, we have had issues with the HVAC system distributing equal air to all of the bedrooms upstairs. We've had the contractor for the builder come out 3 to 4 times with no results. I set up thermostats and have recorded up to a 7 degree variance between our bedroom and our sons bedrooms. The last technician they sent out told me that was to be expected. We had planned to take this information to the builder in hopes of having the contractor make it right. The problem was never resolved by the contractor. Luckily I met Andy with Air Specialty, and told him what we had been going through. He told me on the spot that he had no doubt he could fix the problem. Andy came out and was able to trouble shoot a couple of things, and resolve the issue. Furthermore, Andy didn’t try to sell me something that was not needed in our home. My boys are no longer freezing in their bedroom in the morning, and I would definitely recommend Air Specialty to anyone with a HVAC problem. Very trustworthy company, and that can sometimes be hard to come by!!!

I was looking at buying a house and my inspector said he had concerns with the HVAC system so I googled and called air specialty to come give a quote on repairs. John came to the house free of charge and investigated the HVAC system and assured me the inspector was mistaken and the system was fine and fully functional. He easily could have quoted me for something the system didn’t need but he instead explained why the system was fine and even called for another employee to do a diagnostic on the system. Josh arrived and confirmed the functionality of the system and I can say because of them I have no further doubts and I am signing to buy that house today. Reyna O'neill came out to look at our heating system the same day it broke down. She told us what she thought was wrong, and we would just need to replace the breaker ourselves. Easy fix. We switched the breaker out, but we still couldn't get the system going. She told us to give her a call later if that was not the issue, so we did. She came back out with Josh Sagers. They ran diagnostics for a bit and found that the breaker was a bad breaker from the store, so they switched that out for us. They found there was an improperly installed wire in the HVAC unit, which they fixed. They also found the unit was not running properly because it was not getting the correct signals from the thermostat. They installed a Nest thermostat, which Josh seemed to be against, and the heat was fixed. Josh and Reyna were here for quite some time to fix out what the actual issue was, but they were the best HVAC people for which anyone could ask. They did the everything for free, were super nice, personable, and did not charge us for stuff we really did not need. If anyone needs HVAC help get Josh and Reyna from Air Specialty Heating & Air Conditioning.

Room over the garage was not sufficiently cooling without the aid of a stand-alone air conditioner constantly running. Air Specialty Corp. replaced the existing ducting with larger ducting and ran that ducting in a more efficient manner in order to provide increased airflow to the room. Shortly after purchasing our home in VA Beach, we immediately noticed that our HVAC system was not working properly. Our house was really cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Something had to be done. I have dealt with 2 different companies before meeting with AirSpecialty. One company said they fixed the broken ductwork and the 2nd company said there was nothing wrong. After 10 months of living with an astronomically high electric bill, my general contractor referred me to Air Specialty. They came out and did a thorough inspection of my crawlspace and attic. As I had suspected, our ductwork / return was a disaster. We were losing 40% of our air into the crawlspace. I called Air Specialty based on a Google Maps local search of my residence, and noticed the numerous high ratings. They were easily the fastest to respond to my service call (broken HVAC unit) I've ever experienced. After getting an appraisal by Ms. Reyna O'Neill, I realized the existing unit is a dud, not worth the repair & recharging of expensive older R22 refrigerant it had lost thru leakage. So she quickly set me up with an appointment to get a new system that uses much less expensive R410A refrigerant. I was very impressed by Reyna's care she took in explaining the long-term advantage of the new system, and gladly chose that option instead of recharging my old unit with $1000 worth of refrig. which I immediately realized is same as putting jet fuel in an AMC Pacer! 4/17/17 update Got the new system installed today, works like a champ.
