We have been doing business with this company since Mark's dad Pat was still working. All of Pat's professional qualities have certainly been retained by Mark. Mark is very knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. We called him because our furnace wasn't working properly. He said he would come out the next day at 10 am and he was here right on time. We think that is very remarkable considering the weather situation. Mark checked our thermostat and re-programmed it. He also checked our furnace and filter to make sure everything was okay. It's so nice to have continuous heat again! Thank you Mark. For anyone needing any of this type of work done, don't hesitate to call Mark at Columbia Heating and AC. They are receiving 5 Star reviews and are certainly deserving of them all. They are the best!

Hello, I have been using Columbia Heating for over 25 years when Mark's dad Pat was the owner. Pat and Mark have a lovely straightforward honest attitude to their work and customers. Both are kind and fair. Pat saved me $$$ over the years with service and maintenance. Recently, I had Mark by to see if I could get regular air conditioning for my new house and he determined it wouldn't work. He didn't even charge me for the visit and I appreciated seeing his dad through his demeanor and his candor about what my options are. I will use Columbia Heating for all future needs and know his dad is proud of the business his son is carrying forward. :)

The service Mark from Columbia Heating & AC provided exceeded our expectations. We reached out after our furnace had been down for a couple days and Mark was the only one able to come out the day of and it was late Friday evening. He came on time and was able to troubleshoot and fixed our issue within 30 minutes. Throughout the whole service, he was very informative, polite and friendly. He wore a mask and took his shoes off upon entering (so polite!). The repair fees were also reasonable and fair, we would absolutely do business with them again and recommend them to others. On Christmas afternoon, (Friday) I made more than 8 calls to local businesses who advertise 24/7 emergency service. I either got no answer or was told no technician would be available until Monday. My 94 year old neighbor's furnace had gone out and it was 54 degrees in her home. Mark at Columbia Heating answered the call; came out the next morning and did the repair. He took time to help us understand what the problem was and how we could manage it if it happened again in the future. Mark and His Father Pat have been taking care of my furnace and heating needs on my house now for about 20 years . They have always been there when I have need them and yes it’s always been in time like this week and it’s cold and it’s snowed out side and the furnace stops working . And you know it’s times like these everybody is busy as all get out . My furnace stopped working on Tuesday afternoon , I messaged Mark and he said he good get to me Thursday afternoon . Which was a lot better than a week most places we’re giving . Mark Called me Wednesday and said he could look me that afternoon. He was here by 3pm . He found the issue spent about 3.5 hours getting everything fixed up . He noticed that there was a small water drips from the condensation tube applied some sealer . Returned on Thursday to make sure everything was working . Which it was . He had to do some major repairs to keep my furnace going because I could not afford a new furnace at the time that was 2016 here we are 2020 and he got her going . I promise Mark this summer I am calling and we’re doing a new system . If your looking for an honest hard working Man and runs an honest business I would recommend Columbia hearing and Mark any day of the week.

My AC went out on a Friday night, I called all over for someone to come out on Saturday. Mark returned my call right away and said he could come out the same day and that he would be here at noon, he was on time. He diagnosed the problem right away which made me a very happy person. He had the part in his truck so there was no downtime. He was here for about an hour and by the time he left my AC was fixed. I would highly recommend this company and Mark to anyone. When a rental-property furnace that was only two years old was not operating during Snomageddon, I needed service quickly to ensure the safety and comfort of my tenants. I found Columbia Heating & AC through a Google search. When I called to inquire about availability for a service call, the owner, Mark Bjorkquist answered immediately; he went the extra mile by scheduling a same-day, 6PM appointment to diagnose and repair the issue. Mark showed up at six on the dot and quickly got to work . He quickly found the issue and explained what was causing the issue. During this investigation, he found numerous problems with original installation (incorrect vent installation, incorrect drain installation, incorrect vent connector installation - angled so it would not drain and not tightened so it was leaking in the cabinet resulting in rust and no filter at all for the unit) and provided a clear explanation of each correction he would make and provided a fair price up front to get the system back in excellent working order. The repairs required PVC piping and fittings (for the vent), hose clamps (for the connector), sheet metal (for filter bracket fabrication), properly-sized furnace filter and hanger straps (to correct the drain issues); all of which Mark had in ready supply in his work vehicle. Once he had a plan for repair, he corrected each issue with attention to detail that was, unfortunately lacking by the previous installer. One hour later, he called to inform me that the system was back on line and running better than ever. Mark’s skill in diagnosing, communicating and fixing the problem on-time and quickly is unmatched in our area. His professionalism and integrity has earned a new and permanent client. Our furnace gave out right before Thanksgiving and unfortunately we needed a new one. Mark was able to help us quickly to diagnose and then schedule an appt install the new one right after the holiday. My husband and I both felt we could trust him and that we got a fair price. A family member of ours is in the same business and was also able to confirm the information and pricing all made sense and was in line with both fairness and quality. I had called the 3 other companies listed by google before Columbia Heating &AC when my furnace quit working. None of them could get to me 3 or 4 days. When i called Columbia they had and appointment scheduled for an hour and half from when i called. Mark came out and diagnosed our problem in no time. Even taught me how to clean out the fancy air flitration system for the house. He came back first thing this morning with the proper parts. My heat was pumping strong in under 30 minutes. Mark/Columbia was fantastic. One of the big companies came a few months ago and claimed that the blower motor was leaking, the blower wheel was implacted with debris, the capacitor was bad, and the inducer was grinding and over-amping. They claimed it would cost over $3000 for repairs, and pushed me towards total system replacement ($5000-$10000). Mark carefully made his diagnosis that all aforementioned components were working fine on my 13 year-old furnace, but that the heat pump had a leak that he could likely fix. He also replaced a thermostat with a new one that I wanted since it had gone dead since the original HVAC company visited. Total cost was $1150 for 2 visits and 4-5 hours work, and much of that cost was for the added SMART thermostat wiring and installation. Mark is professional, trustworthy, honest, personable, punctual, considerate, and knowledgeable. He took the time to carefully diagnose the issues with my furnace/heat pump/AC system, was very responsive to my queries and amenable to my needs, and I will DEFINITELY be using his company Columbia as my HVAC company going forward... Highly recommended!!

Contacted the company on a Sunday through an online inquiry. They responded the same day which was great. Scheduled the appointment for the next day which they showed up at the scheduled 2 hour window convenient to our work schedule. The fees were very competitive to couple other quotes we got. Just had Mark come out again for a new project (adding some runs in an unfinished basement that didn't have any). As always his work is top notch. Duct work was clean, tied up well, and routed in the least intrusive ways possible. To date, Mark has replaced 3 furnaces for me (I own rentals), besides the recent duct-work and occasional service calls. Unlike others in the past, I've never had to go in and modify or correct issues... in fact, I have yet to have a service call from a tenant on anything Mark has repaired or installed.

I called on Monday night, appt scheduled for Tuesday am. Mark showed up on time, diagnosed the issue within 15 minutes, and provided a fix in the next 15 minutes. He also went the extra mile explaining my filter situation (I was restricting air flow with unnecessary extra filter). Checked for carbon monoxide, asked if there were any other HVAC related issues, and only charged the diagnostic fee I was quoted. I highly recommend Columbia Heating and AC, and especially Mark. Approximately 4 years ago my old Lennox (1997 install) furnace appeared to be ready to ‘die’. Mark Bjorkquist saved me time and a lot of money by diagnosing the repairable issue (primarily blower motor). He is efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I very much appreciate him taking time to explain clearly what needed to be done and getting an understandable estimate. I recently (Aug 2019) needed to have a furnace inspection/service (selling my house) so I called Mark. Mark has not changed - he still is extremely competent & takes pride in his work. Heater died on a Friday night so by Monday morning, I was desperate to get someone to come take a look at it. Mark was able to come out that same day and initially we thought the problem was just the air filter needing to be cleaned/replaced. After showing me how to get in and out of my 35-year-old furnace and showing me how to clean the filter, he put it all mostly back together and said he wanted to watch the furnace run to make sure there wasn't something else going on. I will be forever grateful that he did because there were some serious issues with the burners that could have resulted in the furnace itself exploding. He wasn't able to install a new one that day or the next day but offered to lend me some space heaters until he could come out on Wednesday to install a new furnace. I really liked Mark's laid back but very professional style. Before he left, he showed me how to replace the filters and even re-wired and showed me how to use the fan feature on my Nest thermostat. Can't recommend Columbia Heating & AC highly enough. Great people to work with and I got a very fair price on the replacement furnace.

In the midst of the snowstorm of a lifetime (seriously) our Furnace went out. The soonest I could get a well ranked big firm out was 4 days. Mark came out at 7pm that night after a long day of furnaces all over the Puget Sound region. My troubleshooting (as gleaned from YouTube) left me resigned to needing a new furnace, or at least a new blower motor. Not Mark - a few minutes in he realized a new capacitor would get us warm for the night, and with a return visit the next day he installed a larger cold air return vent to reduce the load on the motor that had been caused by cold air returns being covered over in a past remodel. He just gave us a lot lot more life out of the motor and the furnace. Worth every penny - don't hesitate to hire Columbia.
