Southland Heating & AC is the best. They have great prices and the service is outstanding. I needed a central AC installation completed quickly on a rental property and they obtained the permit and completed the job in one week! Ray did an outstanding job quoting the job and he provided excellent followup throughout the process. The installation crew completed everything in one day and the tenants we very complimentary of the courteous treatment they received during the installation. We used Southland HVAC to install an entirely new system (furnace, ductwork, compressor, thermostat). They were great for this. Efficient, professional, quick and prices in line with competitors. However, we have been less thrilled with their annual maintenance. Their techs know what they are doing but scheduling has been a nightmare. I was cancelled on twice, once with no call or email, they just never showed, then they finally came the third time 2 hours late.

I received quotes to replace my Lennox smart thermostat from 3 vendors, Southland Heating's quote was in the middle, but I could tell that the technician from Southland was more knowledgeable and accurate. I requested Southland to match the price, it took a few follow-ups, but the staff is very polity and courteous. My thermostat went blank after a power outage. I called to have a technician determine if it could be fixed - but it couldn’t. Robert, the technician, said the controller wasn’t produced any longer but he will try to find one for me. He left and came back about 5-10 minutes later saying he did have a Nest controller in his truck - he said he could install it now, and look for that certain type I had before, so I would not be without cooling or heating. I accepted the offer, he installed it and said to call the office if I couldn’t get used to the Neat controller. I’ll give it a chance as it is much more reasonably priced than the one I had. Robert was very professional, polite and very knowledgeable in getting the job done. I’m very glad to have Robert as the technician ~ very helpful and honest.

Our air conditioning unit of 26 years decides to tank on the hottest day of the year at 105 degrees! A few years back Southland put an independent heating/air system in our lower level and it has saved us this week. I called Southland AC to schedule service as my unit started to shut off during extreme heat. After a few questions, Sherry informed me that I was also eligible for a LADWP Nest Thermostat program which was awesome because I had an older thermostat and could use a new wi-fi one. Their technician, Sev, arrived exactly on time and was very courteous. He explained to me what he was going to do, asked me a few questions and off he was. Exactly two hours later, and after spending probably around an hour on the roof in 100 degree heat, he came back saying that it's all done. He then connected my phone to the new nest wifi unit he just installed. And, he also fixed a missing wire which was prompting my unit to shut down in extreme heat. The unit was fully optimized and fixed to work through this season and many more (my unit is about 10 years old and I was worried I"m going to have to get it replaced now). My system works like a dream now! I'm so happy I found Southland and wanted to say thank you to Sev. By the way, he was very gentle with my 3 dogs and 2 cats. I didn't have to put them away as he worked on the property which was a surprise. It was an all around awesome experience and I wanted to leave this review to let everyone know that there are still honest companies and people out there and I just found my go-to ac and heating company!!! Thank you so much!!!

Over the years I have had to get many bids on projects. I was really impressed with the team at Southland from the very beginning. When I was first contacted about my project I spoke to a gentleman who was very professional and knowledgeable about the products he sold. I actually assumed he was the owner because he took time to explain the systems and procedures to me. When Dave Molina showed up to provide me with an estimate I was shocked to learn that he was the owner because the initial contact was so great. Dave measured and I was very impressed with his ease at describing the appropriate unit for my house. Upon leaving Dave told me that he’d send me an estimate before the end of the day. He was true to his word. The very next day Dave called me to follow up. So far the customer service is top notch. I highly recommend Southland Heating.

We had the pleasure to work with Matt Walker to design and install our new heat pump system. We met with 8 different HVAC contractors before we settled on Southland. They hit that sweet spot of price, quality equipment, expertise and amazing communication. Matt was also very collaborative in the design process. We had come to some ideas from another contractor and Matt was very receptive to those ideas and agreed that would be our best approach. We appreciated that he was open minded to our ideas and it showed that they really focus on giving the customer what is best for them, not what is best for Southland. When it came time to order the equipment we chose we were met with some supply chain issues so Matt went out of his way to find us something that would work and we ended up with a better air handler in the end. When it came to the install, the team was amazing. Pedro led the team and he was a great communicator, always taking us through the process as they worked. The team was quick, very polite and exceptionally clean. They were everything you could hope for in a contractor team. And now we have been living with the system for a couple of months and we could not be happier. It works like a dream and the house is more comfortable than it has ever been. So glad we ended up with our Lennox system from Southland. Thanks Matt and Pedro.

I originally selected this site based on the Yelp reviews and the certification status. That being said, I still think that some of companies have bogus/incentivized reviews. This is not this place. I’m a stickler for professionalism, and they literally went above and beyond. From the onset of the initial phone call to schedule an estimate, I was impressed with their service. Once booked, I received a text message alert to confirm the details of the appointment. On the day of, I received a phone call an hour before the technician arrived. I then received a link to track my technician with his full name. Next, the technician was polite, forthcoming, professional, explanatory (without being patronizing), quick, and efficient. The initial service fee was the lowest when compared to competitors, and the total was far less than I had anticipated. Finally, I received an email when my service was complete, and I was able to follow it and pay electronically. I am ecstatic with them and have bookmarked them for all future needs in the L.A. County (and Ventura County, possibly Orange County) as well.

I cannot Thank Southland Heating & AC enough for being Timely, Trustworthy, and charging Reasonable prices on parts and labor to repair a broken heater. I was expecting to pay much more to have the gas heater fixed. It was giving off a strong smoke odor through the vents. Robert the HVAC Tech arrived as scheduled, found the problem, removed and replaced a part that burnt out. He was able to finish the job quickly too! Much thanks Robert! I'm very satisfied with all services provided and will definitely be calling Southland Heating for any other Heating or AC problems that may occur in the future.

I live in a condominium complex in Atwater Village and Southland had installed a system in one of the other units. The owner said that they had done a good job so I got in touch with Dave Mercado. Dave was professional, knowledgeable, very easy to get in touch with and very patient. After a couple of months of waiting for my refi to go through, we scheduled an installation date and the entire system, with eight holes cut in my ceilings and all new ductwork was done in a single day. There were a couple hiccups at the end but everything was handled very quickly. Alberto, the lead guy for the installation day, and all of the guys working with him were very professional as well and Pedro Orellana was terrific taking care of the final details. Overall, Southland is a solid company that does high-quality work on difficult jobs. I should also add that Dave was on top of rebate programs and I’m expecting to get about 17% back on the job.

I am extremely impressed by all the folks at Southland. Ray came to our house to give us a quote to replace our 30yo rooftop packaged unit after the heater failed. We wanted a new system with the furnace in the attic and the condenser outside. Without saying much to him at all Ray was able to identify all the problems we were having with the AC and heater and how they could be addressed when we replaced the unit. We got 4 bids—3 including Southland for around the same amount and 1 a bit lower. But Ray spent the most time with us, seemed the most knowledgeable, and wasn’t pushy at all so we wanted to work with him. Pedro and his crew were able to install everything in one day a few days after we agreed to go with Southland. We did not have much use for the system for the first couple of weeks after the install but cold weather arrived and after running the heater for a few days, something failed. I called Southland and they sent out Michael Laxner the next day to take a look. Michael and Robert Alfonso figured out the problem, which required ordering a replacement circuit board, and then Robert came back a couple days later to install. Robert was very friendly and totally committed to fully understanding why the board failed and was able to find the source. System is running great now. I highly recommend using Southland and will sign up for their maintenance plan based on the level of service I received.

We came back from the holidays with a broken heater. Its been raining and very cold at night. My pregnant wife and I spent the night bundled up to keep warm. I called Southland the next day and luckily they had a same-day appointment. Jose found the problem right away and got the part we needed. Our heater was back up and running within a reasonable amount of time. We were very happy with the service and experience.

Professional and well managed company, with competitive prices. When I first called, I got a clear price quote with no hidden costs. They clearly explained the $180 annual contract to me, which I signed after meeting their technician. He had exactly the right filters on his truck with him, changed them out and serviced our add-on electronic particle remover filter, the Trane Clean Effects. I signed the contract on an up to date i-Pad which transmitted the doc electronically. Before he came, I got a text that the tech was about to arrive, and a simple follow up survey to ask how he did. GREAT company, compared to other more poorly managed ones, and competitively priced. Wife and I are VERY happy we found them, and went to contract with them. They are excellent.

We were looking to have our 3 mini splits repaired, and after a bad experience with our last company, were really hoping Southland could finally fix our units. Robert came out the same day I called to take a look, and instead of pumping dye to find a leak like the last repair company, he took out his electronic leak detector, and state of the art equipment, and got to work. He expertly explained the problem, showed us pictures, and gave us an estimate. We are currently experiencing very high temps in our area, so I was thrilled when they could come back in less than a week. Robert and Michael came out to repair the units together, showed up on time, and are absolute sweethearts. They were professional, very lovely, and definitely knew their stuff. I signed up for an annual maintenance contract with Southland Heating and Air. In October 2021 they came for the first visit to our home, ran routine diagnostic tests and changed the filters in our heating system. They also inspected the sophisticated filter we added, Trane's Clean Effects Air Scrubber which uses UV light and other technologies to reduce particles in the air to a tiny number. They did great. Very professional and knowledgable. Six months later Southland Air took the initiative to call me, without being asked, to schedule their air conditioning maintence technician; I was glad they reminded me we were due. Their tech Pedro Orellana was courteous, professional, and very skilled; he was even totally familiar with our Air Scubber, and the new HVAC system we have. He let me know the ultraviolet lightbulb in the Clean Effects filter was burned out and needed changing. The company would have replaced the UV bulb, but I wanted to shop around and instead asked them to email me the part name and number. They did within a day. GREAT company!! Well-managed, awesome HVAC group. If you're looking for someone to maintain or install your HAVAC system, look no further. This is a seriously well-run company, and the cost of their annual maintenance contract is lower than I found elsewhere, too. Glad we found them!

They gave a great referral for an electrician as we needed to do some electrical work before we could proceed. My AC stopped running on one of the hottest days (101 degrees) of the year; I panicked. I called one company and they told me to call the manufacturer because they were booking 7 days out. Then I called Southland and I am so glad I did. The representative was very polite and professional. They were also booked pretty far out however she made a few calls and someone was out to my home the next morning at 7am. I was given a window of time from 7-9 and the technician (Pedro) arrived at 6:55am. We are in a pandemic so I was happy to see Pedro wearing a mask, glove and shoe covers. I contacted Southland Heating and A/C based on reviews on Home advisors and Angie’s List for an estimate to install A/C. Matt Alba got back to me immediately and arranged a visit. Matt looked at my existing equipment and we discussed my options. I suspected that I would probably need to replace a 5 year old heater due to its smaller size (relative to the A/C unit) and that all my ducting needed to be replaced. Matt confirmed this and provided a written estimate for a complete heating, A/C unit with ducting, vents, etc. His pricing was fair and competitive based on my research. I even requested some improvements like upgraded filter, enlarged attic access, two additional outlets (bathrooms) and a larger return vent. Matt approved my request with no change to the estimate. The next day I made an appointment for the installation. The job was done in one day and Willy and his team (Abraham, Gabriel, Jorge, and Ricardo) were very professional and courteous during installation and did a very nice job of clean-up. Southland, Matt and his installers are excellent to work with and I would recommend them to anyone without reservation.

Southland by far was the best deal there was. I personally do commercial property management and I know that cheap price is not always best. The things I look for is product and work guarantee. I really liked the whole process, from the bidding to the end. We needed a new A/C system. We got 4 bids, and Southland Heating & Air Conditioning was the next to lowest bid. We chose them because they came across as the most professional, and they were the most responsive. They replaced our Heating and Air conditioning system and all the duct work ( with R-8 ducting ) in one day. We have a 3600 sq, ft house. We had 14 supply vents, and they added a new one in the kitchen for us. The also added 3 return grills with filters, so that we had proper air flow in the whole house. They left the house as clean as it was before they started. The whole crew was clean and polite. I would use them again!!!!

I have an old unused furnace that I left inoperable for 3 years. The reason I didn't repair it is because in the past someone told me that I need $1,400 worth of parts or replace the furnace. Since I have a split system that have heat pump. I did not repair it. After 3 years I figured I give it a try again and this time ready to replace the unit if I have too. When I got his proposal for the work, it was actually less than I expected for the amount of work that needed to be done. I have trust issues with many construction companies however they proved themselves right. They were able to fix it with in 1hr my AC was back working better than ever. Southland has been very responsive to my needs. When I called to ask for a bid for a furnace, a Southland rep came a long distance to evaluate my needs and show me what they would suggest. When I mentioned that we had recently purchased a new central air unit from a competitor and already received a bid from them, the Southland rep suggested it might be best to stay with the competitor because Southland might not be able to match the bid. It turns out Southland's bid was lower. Before deciding, I checked online ratings, and they were consistently high, so I went with them. Installation went well, and there has been only one problem - apparently a faulty thermostat - but it took one call to get someone out to replace it. Everything has been flawless since.

I had a new HVAC system with new ducts installed by Southland. Matt came out to my place, thoroughly inspected my existing system and left a proposal with me. I received 6 other bids and not one left an actual proposal. Matt was up front about needing to pull a permit. Only one other company mentioned to me that a permit was needed. This communicated that Southland wanted to do things right within the boundaries of the law. Matt also told me I needed new ducts, which no other company mentioned except the one other company that mentioned a permit was needed. So, I eliminated from consideration all other companies but Southland and the one other company. Southland’s price came in a few hundred dollars lower. Matt was responsive to my pre-purchase questions, returning my phone calls promptly. On the day of installation, the system was installed within 6 hours and they left my place as it was when they first stepped in the door. My first inspection went perfectly and now I am awaiting the final inspection with the city. Southland wasn’t the most or least expensive, but it excels at pleasing the customer during what can be a stressful time making a substantial financial decision. Matt never pressured me, but he did believe in his company and in his recommendations. I would highly recommend Southland Heating & Air Conditioning for your new or replacement HVAC needs.

Southland Heating and Air Conditioning exceeded all my expectations! Justin, the manager who organized the project, sent a team of technicians to my place as scheduled. I was expecting a full-day job but by 2:30 p.m. the new HVAC system was in place and running (the team arrived to my place around 9 a.m.) The team--Willie, Eber and Victor--arrived on location with a new AC system and condenser and started working immediately to prepare for the crane to arrive (I live in a three-story building). Within less than an hour, the crane had arrived as the three gentlemen had unmounted the old systems, both the condenser on the roof and the AC inside my unit's ceiling. Twenty minutes later, the new condenser was on the roof of the building ready to be connected and the old one was down on the street getting ready for recycle (included). This was a somewhat, complex job. The old HVAC system was about 45 years old and the space to accommodate a new, larger system in the ceiling was challenging (about 5-inches difference). There was supposed to be some drywall cutting planned in the ceiling around the AC's access hatch and fan coil but Eber and the team did some magic and saved the day in every way. They managed to customize the fan space from inside the ceiling and made space for the new unit to fit without having to cut the drywall and create unnecessary work and expenses. All three gentlemen were hard at work, showing professionalism, expertise and courtesy, as they worked between the roof and my unit to complete the project while they made sure my carpet and furniture remain clean (they covered the carpet with tarp and work area with plastic). The entire team was accommodating. Justin with his quote flexibility and assurances (got multiple discounts) and his prompt replies to my emails (even at 2:00 a.m.), and Willie, Eber and Victor with their work ethics and their desire for a job well done! Thank you gentlemen! Mission accomplished, and job well done! In addition, and to top all that, we had a surprise visit from the co-founder of the company, Dave, to check on the project for quality assurance and quality control. Thanks for stopping by Dave! Dave later contacted me to make sure all work was done and offered an additional discount for a quoted expense that was later determined unneeded during the course of work (Talk about honesty of work). Lest not forget the Accounting team, Ana and Shereen (please forgive me if I misspelled your name), who followed up on the project and made sure that the work was done to my satisfaction. Found on Home Advisor, never thought of calling them because they are an hour's drive from our place. Anna at the office was great about contacting me right away and each and every time I had an appointment with someone from Southland she sent me a reminder. From start to finish, this was an extremely professional job! Ray was our salesperson and the owner, and our very 1st interview for the job. He set the bar ridiculously high, so after a few other companies came out, it was a no brainer decision to go with Southland. THe install crew came up during a horrendous rain storm and managed to finish installing a new HVAC system the same day despite the on and off rain. What I love about the workers is that any time they enter your home, they wear booties over their shoes so nothing is tracked in. That has meant a lot with these rainy days. Southland took care of all the annoying details such as permitting, scheduling the HERS inspector and final inspection for permit. They even send someone to be there for the final just in case! Special shout outs to some exceptional employees!! - John and Benjamin came together for the final permit inspection and were super helpful and polite. I had asked if they would adjust the dampeners in the attic for comfort levels (which was missed in the initial set up) and they worked together to ensure I was happy with each and every register/vent's output. John was even nice enough to confirm my suspicions that our variable speed heater was only working on high. I enjoyed talking with John afterwards as we share a love for the open road and motorbikes. Jacob had to make a special trip to fix the variable speed issue. The office made sure I was taken care of as usual, and Jacob spent a good 90 mins checking our NEST thermostat and the wiring of the furnace. He fixed the problem quickly from the NEST, but stuck around to ensure I was comfortable with the way it was running, even showing me how it worked. Again another polite, friendly, no rush, easy to talk to interaction with this Southland employee! THis wasn't an inexpensive job, but that said SOuthland still had a lower estimate than any other company I would consider doing the job. That combined with the employees who were by far the BEST part of it all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone!!

Matt was similarly professional in finalizing our plan, scheduling our install date, and helping us coordinate with an electrician to have our electrical panel replaced the same day as the heating and AC install. The install day went extremely smoothly. Rudy, the site manager, was extremely professional, as was the rest of his crew. They worked very cleanly, covering our floors and furniture with tarps. They were very good at communicating their plans and their progress throughout the day. I found out at the end of the day they were down a couple workers, but were still able to get the job done on time with no hiccups. He then checked the drainage from the unit and made sure that the system drained properly outside.
