Great service! We had our furnace go out and they evaluated, did a temporary repair on the old system, and then came back and replaced the furnace all within 24 hours. They were here on time and did fast, quality work. Everyone we talked to was knowledgeable and friendly. Financing was super easy too.

This summer, when we came home from a vacation, we found our air-conditioner was not running. I called several places and they could not see us for days or weeks. I called SOS and John Child, the Service Manager, came that very afternoon. We determined the compressor was bad and I decided to replace the whole air-conditioning system since the old one was almost 25 years old. He had a 4-person install crew out the very next morning. By 4pm the whole house was cool again! That means a lot when the temperature was over 100 degrees. Now that winter has arrived, I noticed the whole-house humidifier was not working. This was not a total surprise because they had to moved the humidifier controller during the ac install and were unable to test it during the summer. I called John and by noon, he had a competent technician out the the humidifier running as it should - no charge. Great Service!

Our heater went out over the weekend. We could not figure out what was going on. Called them Monday morning and they fit us in the end of day. Then said they could come earlier and got there at noon. Checked things out and said it was an easy fix. Only charged us $59 for tune up. Quick, professional and honest. So thankful they could come quick cause we have been freezing! Would definitely use again!

John and his team did a great job. The furnace was installed for the quoted price on the day promised. They also agreed to replace the solenoid on the humidifier which required them to make several trips before the correct solenoid was located that would fit. However, John stayed with it, always texting to confirm his arrival and arriving on time. Now I have a perfectly working solenoid. All workers were friendly and professional and I definitely recommend SOS Heating & Cooling.

The whole team at SOS is outstanding. Our furnace went out (16years old). We decided to replace it. John came out and gave us several options to choose from. The next day Cory and another fella (sorry I forgot his name) came out to install a new furnace and AC. They did a fantastic job and we are beyond happy with our new system. They are all so friendly and knowledgeable. They explained everything in a way I could understand. Cory and PJ came out the following week to fix one little issue with a humidifier. They were prompt and friendly. I would have no hesitation doing business with SOS again for any heating or cooling issues. My AC stopped working and was blowing hot air. I went with another company first to get a price estimate and they gave me a price estimate of $1700-$2600 for the repair. That seemed very high so I got another price quote. I was quoted much less by SOS for the repair and went with them. They looked again and found that it was a minor fix. Thank you SOS and Randy for not overcharging and for being an honest local company!

I am diligent about finding professionals who are not only affordable and perform high quality work, but who are also creative and who can collaborate with me on how I want to do things while being met with their experience and expertise around what's possible. SOS exceeded these expectations. Before work started they walked through every detail, every line and when I came home from being out of town, every significant detail was performed as it was discussed. All of this while coming in well below other bids I'd had for this job. I didn't realize how much storage I had in their way before I left on my trip. When I arrived I noticed it all carefully moved out of the way. Things weren't put back and debris from installation wasn't cleaned up, which made me feel better actually knowing all they had to do on the installation. If you want to feel and be heard in your design constraints and ideas as well as getting the most value out of the money you're spending, I would recommend SOS.

The communication was A+, from the estimate process all the way through installation day Randy was responsive and provided great information when I need it, while working to accommodate my schedule. I had a lot of requests and changes during the process and Randy was able to work with me on them all. I can't recommend Randy enough. On installation day Kolby and PJ were both fantastic, working with me on installation expectations and would get my input when the project needed it. They gave me a high quality Lenox system, fixed the horrible draining system the last company installed, and I am thrilled with the outcome. Soooo much quieter than my old system! Cory and Mason were terrific. They worked quickly and efficiently and had the entire system replaced in a day. They did a meticulous cleanup, leaving no debris. SOS removed my two old roof top a/c units and installed 2 new a/c and gas heating forced air Lennox systems with replacement of all ducting components, which was a massive operation. It was immediately evident upon working with Jake, John, and the rest of the team that they were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, responsive, timely, and have great customer service. I had gotten 5 other quotes from other big HVAC companies and SOS was the most responsive, designed the best system, and were the best priced by far. They brought two teams and a crane to install the two completely new systems and got it done in under 3 days as they had promised. Most importantly, their work product appears very neat, organized, and as pretty as an HVAC system can be, giving me the confidence we clearly made the right choice working with them.

My furnace went out at 11pm a couple of days ago. Called a number of "emergency" hvac contractors but Randy of SOS was the only one that would come out to try and fix my furnace that night. He arrived when he said he would, was extremely professional, diagnosed the problem and fixed my furnace. In short, Randy absolutely bailed me out of a dire situation. We had SOS complete the vents and returns for our u finished basement and then more recently we had SOS replace our furnace and AC when it went out recently. I used SOS back in 2020 to replace an old busted A/C unit with a higher efficiency (and working) unit. So far, it has lowered my monthly utility bill by about 50% from my old unit, meaning the unit has almost paid for itself over the last couple of years alone. Their price and service were more than fair, and the job was done quickly. This year in 2022, i called them for a tune up and ended up signing up for their service program which gives me an A/C and Furnace tune up along with some other misc. discounts. Usually i'd avoid signing up for these things but their honestly and integrity makes me want to make sure they're coming out every year to keep me informed. Pretty great peace of mind for 150 bucks considering the rising costs of everything. Update: These guys are amazing. Would not recommend any other HVAC company. They've been nothing but supportive over one of the hottest summers on record in slc! Shout out to John and the rest of the crew for such amazing support and care. I've never seen a company with so many perfect reviews, but I can tell you each and every one was well earned. This isn't your typical business - they're straight up the best.

We chose SOS Heating about a year ago to install an entirely new HVAC system in a condominium we purchased in Holliday. We completely remodeled that condominium, and ended up selling it after we remodeled. We purchased a brand new home about three months ago and our furnace stopped working night before last. The builder instructed us to call a company of our choice, so I called SOS Heating again to see if they also provided service and repairs and thankfully they do. It was the middle of the day so I was concerned they were not going to have a service technician available to come over that late in the day, however when I called and asked if they did, she placed me on a brief hold while she asked the owner if he could find one of his technicians to see if he could work us in. They worked us in their schedule and had someone there in just a few hours. They had told us the supply houses closed and they could not get the compatible part, so they installed a part that got us through the night and they called me the next morning told me they had found a part locally and would be right over. Their concern was that the part they had installed would most likely be a problem because it was not the factory compatible part, so he returned the next morning and installed the better suited part. I feel like you can always tell when the owners have a great company, because every single employee of theirs that we had interactions with made us feel like we were the most important customer, and it felt like they enjoyed their jobs, everyone was so awesome to speak with and work with. This is the heating and air-conditioning company that we will use indefinitely, and we will absolutely refer these guys to our friends and family. What a refreshing and wonderful experience. I feel like so many companies both small and large have lost the ability to provide this level of genuine high-quality customer service that we have experienced each and every time we have hired these guys. Our furnace went out on New Year's, they were able to come out that day. Unfortunately our furnace ended up needing to be replaced. I appreciate they tried to troubleshoot and fix it before they just tried to sell me a new one. I was very nervous about the cost but their pricing was reasonable. They had a furnace in stock, so time we were without a furnace was very minimal considering it was a Saturday (installed on Monday morning). They just came out recently for a follow up visit to make sure everything was still working properly and that our A/C would work as well. It was the technician that installed the furnace, it was good to see him again. They have been very good at communicating when they will be there. Everyone I have dealt with has been great. I would definitely recommend them.

You won't find a more dedicated and affable group of guys. Bryson (one of the co-owners, I believe) was very accessible and responsive, coming over multiple times to diagnose and discuss options. S.O.S. was very competitive when it came to pricing and seemed honest and flexible. Throughout the process (they accidentally broke some sort of condensation pan when they installed the furnace, so they had to come back), Jake, Kolbe, and Paul were great as well. I can tell they have a close company culture where they all work well with each other and seem to enjoy their jobs. I love seeing that. Their receptionist/dispatcher Taylor (who takes the phone calls) is also super nice. They're not perfect (there were a few screws laying around when they left), but they were pretty close :) 5 stars from me.

On Monday night our AC condenser unexpectedly stopped worked. I called several other repair services, and S.O.S. was the only one that could get anyone out within the next few days, yet alone that night at 11:30pm. Unfortunately the first tech was unable to diagnose the root cause of the issue, but another tech showed up first thing in the morning and was able to identify and fix the issue within about 30 minutes. Considering two techs came out (one of which in the middle of the night), pricing was extremely reasonable. S.O.S. will always get my first call moving forward.

Randy did a fantastic job not only was he on time friendly professional and personable but he saved my family from a very cold winter. No time during his visit here did I feel uncomfortable. Nor did Randy at any point make me feel like he was going to overcharge me for any of the services performed. My central HVAC fan motor bound up and rendered itself useless. I contacted SOS and was given a time of arrival about 1hr after I contacted them. Randy showed up shortly after ready to troubleshoot and repair my system. He verified that the only issue was the blower motor, ordered a replacement part, and installed it quickly. He is/was very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. After he fixed the unit, he made sure it functioned properly in all settings, and cleaned up the area he worked in. 5/5 would recommend. We all dislike having to spend money to repair expensive parts and appliances, but he made it less painful. If I have another HVAC issue, I'd contact SOS and ask for Randy.

This is the second time I have used SOS, and I would highly recommend them. Both times they were professional, honest, and had excellent rates. The first time I used them they came out on a Saturday afternoon, and had our AC up and running, which was amazing because it was so hot! AMAZING! No one wants to need to replace a new unit! We just bought our home and have a warranty! Another company/small business (Thomas with Riches HVAC) came and “helped” us invalidate our warranty and instead of advising us how we would be doing so by allowing him to tell us it was a faulty unit and just shut it off. So we have new house, new AC problem, middle of a big Reno project and no AC! Per recommendation I called Bryson on Thursday evening. He was kind and compassionate.iced things around came Friday, bidded it and then his guys worked extra to get it in FRIDAY!! They started work Bryson (owner) came and delivered supplies. It was located in a sketchy place and had other contractors here. But they did it! Cory and his son did the labor! SOS came out to inspect my nonworking ductless heater / AC. After receiving multiple other bids, it became clear the unit was beyond repair. They investigated that themselves and walked through what getting a new unit looked like. They helped me to explore options that met my needs. They were able to assess the state of my HVAC system and make some minute ductwork updates to make it a bit more efficient. Having other bids in hand, I felt the bid was very fair. Being as so many people were having the same problem as we did, there was a shortage of parts. he said it would be up to 4 days to get parts. We had received a note in our home inspection showing there was condensation during the inspection. He did a full inspection and found that our system was in working order. I bought a house brand-new 3 years ago. On day 1 my AC unit had problems and the HVAC contractor seems to have just band-aid fixed it to get passed the warranty period. Fast forward 3 years with many service calls, my AC compressor dies. Enter SOS Heating and Cooling. They gave me options for replacing the AC compressor under manufacturer warranty, and full AC compressor and coil replacement. In the end, I decided to replace the entire AC system because I had no confidence the original AC system was installed correctly because of all the issues that I had. SOS arrived on time, and are very professional. They provided many options for the repair including a full replacement. No pressuring, and they answered all my questions. Believe me when I say that I asked a lot of questions and they patiently answered all of them. I recommend SOS! Here's an example of Integrity, the installers had a chance to talk poorly about the work of the original HVAC contractor but rather than do that, they said that during construction things happen and it may not be the entirely the fault of the HVAC contractor that the AC system turned out bad. I nodded at his assessment. However, I do fault the original contractor for not choosing to make things right, an AC system should last over a decade not just 3 years. Choose SOS Heating and Cooling, they provide great service at a very competitive price.

They did an amazing job. My furnace was doing a short cycle. I called them that night and set up an appointment for the next day. They came on time and communicated with me as they were coming. They were able to identify the problem and had to schedule a return trip due to it being after 5pm and the supply store wanting to charge an extra 125$ to get the part. The repair person let me know that they could come the following morning and that way no additional fee from the supply store. For this review I hired SOS heating and air to remove 8 old condenser units and ducting that had been placed on top of our HOA roofs in the 70s preventing proper roof care. I worked with Jake for the initial estimate as well as during the actual removal process. Jake and SOS were quick to respond to all my questions, answering thoughtfully and thoroughly. SOS was able to schedule our project quickly after we accepted the bid, following up with promised information (when the crane would arrive and etc) in a timely manner and showing up on time and prepared for the day of removals. During the day of work, the SOS team worked with positive attitudes never showing any frustrations with setbacks or unknowns but instead working steadily and even showing moments of really enjoying what they were doing for us, often laughing joking with each other and whistling while they worked. Their professionalism and positivity in this industry are truly refreshing. I also interacted with several of the team and each were knowledgeable, coherent and engaged with me and the process; I really enjoyed interacting with them all. Part of the removal process included capping and tarring ducting protrusions from our roof which seems to have been handled well; only time will tell that but after our first heavy day of rain we seem to be in better shape than before the removals and we haven't even got to replacing the roofs yet! We had our furnace go out and were originally told by another contractor that while it could be repaired they would suggest replacing it and pushed that angle aggressively. I shopped around for an old, discontinued coolant and found S.O.S. Their price was $120/lb for R-22 coolant whereas other places charged as high as $315. I booked Bryson for the afternoon that same day, but got a call shortly thereafter saying he was ahead of schedule! Bryson arrived 2+ hours early to my home. One of the first questions he asked me was if I have a home warranty, since I had recently purchased the home. I replied yes, and he suggested I call the warranty to do the work (rather than S.O.S) , which would save me $200+. I was so appreciative of this! He didn't have to mention that and could have kept the job for himself. Instead he saved me hundreds right away. I spent the next 20-30 minutes asking various questions about my new home and got really detailed answers and ballpark cost figures about different systems. He gave me referrals for 3 different contractors. Additionally, he checked out my AC unit and showed me some simple things to do (such as cleaning off the radiator fins) which would be free, but effective ways to increase my cooling. I was so impressed with Bryson's professionalism, concern for my budget, knowledge of so many different things, and generosity of his time. I'll absolutely be calling S.O.S. first the next time I have an HVAC need.

We've been through a number of home services that don't stand behind their work and have had either created property damage with our lawn and sprinkler system, and electrical work. They initially showed up to service my ac unit, I had an issue with my basement being much colder than my upstairs, after just speaking with them they showed me how a new hvac with a variable frequency drive (vfd) could help me solve the problem. So I was sold, and they came and installed a week later…fast forward a month and I’m texting on Father’s Day that I can’t feel air from my vents, not only did they walk me through what to do…they had a tech here the next morning. After inspection the tech called one of the owners who also showed up in his own vehicle and personally inspected the problem…long story short they identified no less than 3 problems from the ac (they did not install my ac compressor unit just the heater and blower) and none of the issues were from their install but they still diagnosed, treated, and repaired everything such that I am writing this now a bit too cold :) my wife, myself, and our newborn are incredibly great full and happy to have done any business with this company and I can honestly say I will not be looking elsewhere for services regarding hvac and home comfort, I only wish they offered more services (like landscaping, electrical, etc…) cause I can promise I’d use them for all of that too.

The heater in my rental unit shut down due to a very dirty filter. But, after changing the filter the Blow out motor and inducer motor started up fine, but no gas was coming out. I YouTube’d the problem and found several videos suggesting the flame roll out switches being tripped was the most likely problem. Not being an HVAC guy, I located two roll out switches and attempted to reset them. Still nothing, I was at a loss. So I had no idea where to go next. It was late Friday night. I knew there would be an expensive after hours, I need you right now, call out charge but, my tenants needed heat. I searched Home advisor for companies with great reviews and submitted a request for a call back so I could get the problem fixed.. the first person to call was Bryson with S.O.S.Heating and Cooling. I told Bryson what I had and he told me over the phone that there were more than just the two roll out switches and explained to me where they might be located. I was a. Able to locate another switch, but still the problem persisted. Bryson then presented another solution telling me that i may just have pull some of the connectors for certain wiring to reset the system. Bryson took time to explain on detail which wires would need to be pulled and replaced. Bryson told me I would have to wait several minutes to allow the reset to take effect, then told me to call him back if that didn’t fix the problem. That final bit of instruction took care of the problem and my tenant had heat again. Bryson saved me at least $100 or more just to have anyone travel out for the simple fix. Bryson took his own, unpaid, time to sit with me on the phone for 15 or 20 minutes going through possible solutions to my problem. There are many companies that would have come out knowing that this could be a simple fix, but take advantage of someone with very little knowledge of the workings of an HVAC system, and charge me who knows how much. Bryson was awesome and did not take advantage of me. He was very honest and concerned for my situation. I have no doubts that if the problem wasn’t an easy fix and Bryson had to come out, that he still would have been fair and honest with me. This is one company I will be keeping in my contacts for any future HVAC problems I may encounter. Thanks Bryson.
