I had a problem with my heat coming on. I replaced the thermostat but problem continued. Called Rentmeister & they came out in about 4 hrs. Technician found a dirty flame sensor. Cleaned it & furnace came on. I thought the charge was quite high for what he did ($231.00) but I am grateful he got our heat back working. -UPDATE-- This company is awesome. They responded to my review & even called me to tell me a typo was done on the billing code & gave me a credit back for the mistake. Not many places would do that. Thanks again for the great service & the honesty.

Kevin and Liza were on time and worked nonstop for 2 hours to get my job done. I had multiple items, including a water softener replacement, a new house water filtration system, low water pressure, and some hose faucet work. They did a splendid job! I've had some faucets that has been broken for a few year and they came in and replaced them for me. Kevin and Braden was awesome for all the hard work they had to do due to our nice Syracuse City hard water Ha!!Ha!! And I don't have a water softener but they got everything installed, so now they are in working conditions and made me a happy camper and that I have a bathroom shower again in my hall bathroom and a nice sink and new faucet and a new outdoor faucet on my house that has been leaking for a year or so now and replaced my toilet inners that quit working the day before my appointment and was able to take care of that too while they were there. I have used this company twice through my home warranty. Prior to going through the warranty, I had used a handful of other plumbing companies which had severely overcharged me for minor plumbing repairs and fix it issues. I purchased my home in April and have been bombarded with hidden issues that didn't come up on the home inspection. The gentlemen that I have dealt with from THIS Rentmeister (specifically the Total Home Service in Syracuse) have been absolutely extraordinary. They always give a courtesy call to let me know when they are about 15-20 minutes away to make sure there is someone available. I have had to have 2 pipes replaced in my house and both times I have used this Rentmeister. They are extremely helpful and give you the big picture rather than just coming in and fixing what is broken. I had a leak in my kitchen drain pipe that I thought only needed a replacement in the top portion of the pipe. The guys at Rentmeister told me they would fix the broken pipe but they highly recommended checking the bottom portion of the pipe (which is in the basement) as well to make sure no further water damage was caused. Thank goodness they did because the pipe was broken at both ends. They even showed me the pipe when they pulled it out so that I could see where and how it had cracked. I always appreciate this kind of business because it lets you know your aren't just getting charged for something they say you need when you might not actually need it, regardless if it is covered under a home warranty or not. These gentlemen always clean up before they leave, they vacuumed and wiped down my kitchen floor. They have been kind enough to refer me to other professionals that they recommend for other projects I have in the house and I have full confidence that anyone they recommend would be just as excellent as they are. There is also a Rentmeister in Ogden which is right now the street from me but I will always use the Syracuse one based on the professional experience and expertise they have demonstrated to me. 10/10 would recommend this business!

Honestly, I have been very impressed with this company. Very professional. They removed two water heaters for us, and replaced with a tankless water heater. They also replaced our swamp cooler with an air conditioner, replaced our heater, and fixed some heating issues with the bedrooms. They were awesome. They even underestimated, and didn't realize they needed to run a larger gas line. They took care of the extra cost, and did it for free. This is an amazing company.

Great experience. I got an email with a picture showing who was coming to the house, it showed up 30 min after they guys did, but it was a great touch. Dustin was able to work through some technically challenging issues and make it all work on with the installation of our heat heat pump system. He took the time to answer my questions and just discus a few things. They have done few projects in our home over the years and we have been pleased.

My AC went out and I called Rentmeister and withing 2 days they were out replacing my old AC unit, furnace, and water heater. They discovered my original wiring was too small even for my old unit. They were able to fix the problem the same day! Everyone was amazing and super informative. They worked all day! My upstairs master bedroom is finally cool enough that I could take out my window AC unit. My golden retriever, who never stayed in the room because it was always too hot, now sleeps upstairs with me! Thank you Rentmeister!

*UPDATED* 2 days after writing this review I received a letter from my Home Warranty company saying they'd denied the claim. I can't fault Rentmeister for that, so I've revised my rating. I recently moved into a home and had a pinhole leak develop in my refrigerator supply line, which started flooding into the kitchen. I contacted First American (home warranty) to have it fixed, paid the $75 service charge, and they assigned the work to Rentmeister. The tech from Rentmeister showed up and explained to my wife that they couldn't re-run the supply line from the utility closet, (where it's been for 30+ years), and that they HAD to run it from under the sink. But THAT wasn't covered by the home warranty so we'd have to pay $200-$300 out of pocket, in addition to the $75 already paid. He then left without fixing anything and closed out the ticket. I can appreciate the desire to upsell the customer to improve average ticket profits. I can understand the difficulty of making home warranty leads profitable. But here are the facts: my home warranty covered this repair. I paid the service charge to have the repair performed. Rentmeister agreed to service First American Warranty claims at an agreed upon compensation rate. And they received that compensation, and did not perform the work. As the customer, I don't care how much or how little work is required to fix the problem. I just want the problem solved in an appropriate and professional manner. Two stars instead of one because they were responsive and showed up on time.

I was really impressed with Joseph’s professionalism and thorough work yesterday. I wasn’t able to be on site, but he communicated amazingly well to me and my tenants and everyone was impressed with the work he did. There were details I suspected he wouldn’t bother with since I wasn’t on site, such as the water flow in my kitchen. He not only noticed, he took the time to get the correct parts and repaired the problems after obtaining my consent. I will definitely recommend Rentmeister to others.

My grandparents have had great experiences with this company regarding hvac (furnace) replacement and maintenance. We requested a quote from here to replace our furnace and ac to compare prices with the other quotes we got. Jerry came out and gave a comprehensive estimate very quickly. I should have made this review days ago. Kevin Thompson from Rentmeister Total Home Service Syracuse came to our house to repair a faulty valve in our master bath. Come to find out the contractor who installed our sink did a shotty job. He used cheep equipment that wouldn't have lasted, he used the wrong material that would have caused us bigger issues in the long run and he left our drain unsealed and leaking. I was so impressed with Kevin. I was already secretly concerned about the job the contractor did and Kevin came in and totally saved the day! I was so grateful. He was super chill, personable and he got right down to business. He also fixed an outside faucet that just needed something small. I thought a plumber would for sure make it a costly repair but he pointed out how simple it was and made the fix in 2 seconds. I am impressed beyond compare!

I love Rentmeister. My warranty company sent them out to fix a water hammer noise and they replaced the pressure regulator the first time. Kevin came out and was very knowledgeable and kind. Great guy. my sound came back and my warranty company sent out a different plumber service to look at the issue. They would not listen and installed parts i didn't need that didn't fix the issue and when the issue wasn't fixed told my warranty company my drywall would have to be ripped apart. They wouldn't listen to me when I told them I thought it was the kitchen sink causing the issue since the noise started there and I had low water pressure and a leak. I asked for a second opinion and Kevin from Rentmeister came back. He was great listened to the symptoms I described and replaced the faucet and shutoff valves. Issue resolved. Thank you to Rentmeister for having such knowledgeable and professional plumbers. It was such a relief to have everything fixed and to be taken seriously. I would use this company with or without a warranty as I feel they are fair, honest and have great customer service. Which i should add that even when i spoke with the people on the main line they were extremely kind and helpful as well.

My daughter used Rentmeister for some plumbing fixes in her new home which was a fixer upper. Joseph with Rentmeister gave her the quote and did the work . He and his partner replaced some old pipe brought a water heater to code installed new toilet flange and waste line hookup, washer lines replaced just to name a few things . He and his partner did excellent work. Because of this I asked them to give me a quote on rough in plumbing and install of sink and toilet in my basement remodel. Their quote came in at much less than my previous plumber. They roughed in my lines moved my waste line. They then came back after I had finished my drywall and flooring and installed my toilet and sink faucet. The toilet tank was a little too big. This was a Friday morning. Joseph told me it was not a problem. He checked with his supplier in Logan and told me he could come back that afternoon or replace the tank first thing Monday. He returned on Monday and replaced and finished the install. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with the quality of the job. The great professionalism of the people that work for this company. I would not hesitate in recommending Rentmeister for plumbing work. Very good value, honest and affordable they definitely go the extra mile

Joseph came out today to help me when I called my warranty company about the sound of running water with all of my fixtures off. We looked for quite a while without finding a leak, before Joseph figured out it was the water shutoff valve and regulator. He did a great job of replacing the regulator, and also made adjustments to a couple of fixtures I was having issues with. After all that was done he answered several questions for me about my options for upgrading my water heater and installing a softener. They will definitely go to the top of my list for plumbing issues in the future.

Wow!!!!! 😊Great experience I had with Joseph Tirko, he was kind, professional, just a great asset to this company, he fixed my toilet leak and under sink leak, he also provided me with the full details of what he did two fix both problems, then he still asked if I had anything else that needed fixing, I then asked if he happened to know if it’s normal that my hot water runs out quickly and if that was normal, he quickly had an answer and then adjusted my water heater, as a new customer that has no knowledge of plumbing and first time homebuyer I’m super happy with my service I received and they give a 30 day warranty if something happens to the repairs he fixed. Kevin and his assistant were very friendly, thorough and took their time to do the job right. Rentmeister did a great job from start to finish. We put in a claim with our home warranty company this morning at 1 am. We called Rentmeister this morning and they were able to get us on the schedule of one of their technicians. Kevin came to our home to take care of our busted and clogged pipe. He was very friendly and was able to do the job without any problem even though the pipe was in a cabinet and he also had to go into the crawl space. If you need a repair on your home, call Joseph Tirko at Rentmeister! My girlfriend and I recently purchased a home back in November 2020. A few months down the road we had noticed some water seeping through the tiny gaps in our flooring in the basement by the laundry room. Noticed a small leak from a drain pipe. We contacted Elevate who our home warranty is through, and they sent out Joseph Tirko from Rentmeister. This guy is AWESOME! He came in and was super professional, showed up on time, handled our problem very quickly and efficiently. Even educated us on a lot of things we were not aware of when it comes to taking care of a home. So happy with the repair and would 100% recommend Joseph and the guys at Rentmeister.

I've used Rentmeister several times through my First American Home warranty over the past couple of years. I've always been pleased with their service. Earlier this month in Feb 2020, I discovered a new plumbing problem. I noticed water dripping from the top of a doorway (obviously from inside the wall from the upstairs bath to a downstairs hallway). Yikes! I called and my home warranty assigned Rentmeister. I reported the issue on a Sunday night. Rentmeister called me monday morning around 10am and scheduled my service for the next day. Kevin and Braden showed up right on time. I was glad they sent two people because one obviously needed to be downstairs and one upstairs. They ran the bathtub water and shower and tested the drainage... no water leaking. Curious. They discussed with me cutting a small hole in the wall to further investigate. Before they started cutting, we talked about the size of the hole and how I wanted to add an access panel later so that it would be easy for me. Finally, Kevin asked Braden to spray the wall of the shower with water while he watched for leaks. Bingo! The culprit was an old seal around the water on/off/temp knob and a loose screw. A very simple fix, but a very tricky diagnosis. I would have never figured it out if I'd have asked my dad to fix it. Experience definitely played a big role in finding and fixing my problem quickly and without more damage. They reassured me that there wasn't mold in the wall and their sensor showed no moisture readings- we'd caught the problem quickly. These guys are great! Good cleanup, professionalism and friendliness.

I was blown away by the service we received from these guys!! Responsive and so patient with all of my questions about our current and new a/c unit. Dustin was very personable and kind. First, I need to say that I am from Hawaii and my Hawaiian body has never adapted to the winter environment here in Utah. I have had pneumonia 12 times. Last night we had NO heat and the temperature in the home dropped to 58 degrees. I could not do enough to get warm and the morning was even worse for me. I had a water heater thermostat go bad after hours, tripping the overflow valve. The technicians were professional and prompt. They removed the old heater and replaced it within three hours of my initial call for service which was very much appreciated. The cost was a shock and I couldn’t help but feel a little taken advantage of. Over $2100 to replace a water heater seems out of line, even if it was after hours. The technicians did tell me that they charge time and one-half for after hours work and I agreed to that, so I suppose I should have asked more questions. I appreciate the job and the timeliness, just not the price.

Rentmeister plumber came to replace a leaking hose bib. He had to crawl on his stomach through a very tight crawlspace to reach the hose bib connection. He worked quickly and efficiently and despite the difficult access completed the job in about an hour. I would certainly recommend Rentmesiter and would call them for work in the future.

I see the negative reviews, and must say my experience with this company was nothing like theirs. They went above and beyond my expectations, especially with how busy they are. My AC went out and my home warranty had assigned another contractor, but they never reached out to me. After explaining the issue to my Home Warranty company, they immediately reached out to Rentmeister. They contacted me very promptly and even offered to come out at 9:30 pm, but I said we had already made arrangements. Nathan was at my house by 10:00 am the next morning fixed my AC. Great company! Our basement flooded and we needed help. I called the company Monday 1/20 and the earliest they could get us in was Thursday 1/23, they're busy. I called back this morning, Tuesday 1/21, asking how to go about keeping the water down and from destroying the basement (some companies state if you mess with anything [tamper] even with the clean up they could deny a claim). I was directed by (Diana, sorry if I got this wrong) to call Joseph. I called him, explained the situation, and instead of Thursday, he agreed to come out tonight. He asked that I call him around 3pm to confirm. I did and he came out a bit later. He is amazing, informative, and made recommendations for something I wasn't sure on. Through a series of issues due to the complexity of the problem, I had to have 3 separate service calls to my home to have my AC fixed. For example, egg shells, while they may sharpen the blades of a disposal, will also turn to powder and then harden to a rock solid form in your drainage pipes. Ha!! How’s that for plumber 101!! I had been waiting for another HVAC company to come out for a month and they were worthless. So I called Rentmeister during their busiest time and they told me they could get me in within a week. That was decent but I said I could not wait that long since I had been waiting so long for the other company. But then that night I got a call from Dustin one of Rentmeister's techs. He said he had an appointment cancel and could come out and fix our a/c the next morning at 6am. Dustin was so professional and nice to my kid who wanted to watch. He even spent extra time trying to get the fan off the motor to save me some money rather than having me buy a new one. He eventually got it off and put it on the new motor, our a/c has been working perfectly ever since. I highly recommend Rentmeister and will come back to them for future HVAC needs.

I don’t think people realize what these service technicians are giving when they come to your home. We all want them to jump thru all the hoops of cleanliness and safety before they come into our homes BUT we offer them nothing! How many people at home are wearing masks, have disinfected every surface and can ensure THEIR safety????? I would bet no one. EDIT : I must update my review from 1 star to 5 stars. I had issue after issue with our AC unit, however credit is due to rentmeister. They stuck with fixing the issue time and time again and today replaced the bad condenser with a new unit for FREE. This is standing behind your work and making it right. Thank you Dustin. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is with the colemen equipment that Rentmeister uses, however I can no longer recommend that anyone use this company. We built a house with Perry Homes and Rentmeister did the HVAC in many of the houses in our neighborhood. Within a year half the block was complaining because our AC units no longer work. To their credit, they have sent a tech out 5 times in 2 months however there has been no fix. (They did find that the installer completely neglected to cut out the cold air return....there was literally a vent with no hole) I am now writing this review because again our AC will not turn on and their after hour number goes to voicemail which happens to be full. Awesome!
