I have had several terrific experiences with Pine State Services and this was no exception. The communication before the appointment was consistent and really helpful, including several email exchanges with the scheduler helping me work through technical questions I had about the thermostat install. Keith arrived right on time and was quick to assess our boiler and heating setup. After hearing his explanation of my home wiring situation, I understood that the thermostat I'd hoped to have installed wasn't the best fit for my needs. He recommended another option that would be significantly less expensive but still achieve my goals for the project. Then he quickly installed both new thermostats and coached both me and my tenant on how to program them in order to minimize strain on the boiler as well as keep heating costs low. Keith was so friendly, respectful and helpful. I felt that he really listened to what I wanted and he was passionate about helping me learn without being condescending or overbearing. It's a pleasure to work with people like Keith who so clearly enjoy what they do! I am happy to support Pine State and always recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Each of the Pine State employees, Electricians, Plumber, Heating system install, were all very professional, on-time, performed high-quality work. You could tell they really cared about the work they were doing and it shows! I will definitely continue to use them and highly recommend them. We had quite a bit of old plumbing replaced, laundry sink installed, kitchen renovation, several new lights and they discovered and repaired several electrical issues. So glad I finally found a company to trust! No issues from start to finish. I was a new customer when I first contacted Pine State Services and the soonest appointment they could get me was about a month out, but at least my issue wasn't too too urgent. I know it's the start of heating season and I am sure they are slammed. But I am hoping now that I am an existing customer that future appointments could more timely. Aside from that (and most importantly) my service appointment went great! My technician, James B., was very polite, informative, honest, cleaned up after himself (I mean spotless!), and as far as I can tell did an AMAZING job. I have had issues in the past with other companies being very messy, un-friendly, and deceitful. I am so happy to have found Pine State Services, they are the company I have always been looking for. I will certainly be using them going forward - I highly suggest you do as well!

I am very happy with Pine State Services. They were lifesavers! We had an emergency as water was just pouring out of our water heater. The pressure valve was busted. Pine state installed our boiler 5 years ago and did a fantastic job. They just came back to fix some broken parts. Someone polite and patient always answers the phone at their call center. Tech was out a few hours after we called. Assessed everything and gave us an estimate within 10 minutes. We agreed to the estimate, they ordered the parts and a few days later everything was running perfect again. Highly recommended. You may pay 5-10% more using a bigger company like this, but the customer service and excellent techs are worth it.

Tristan was so knowledgeable about my wall hung system and explained exactly what was going on with it and why. I’d called several other companies who were only interested in replacing the system without even looking at it before finding Pine State. Tristan was respectful of my budget and did only what had to be done to get my boiler up and going to give me time to financially prepare to eventually replace it. As a single woman, I can’t tell you how appreciative I am that I didn’t feel taken advantage of because I lack any knowledge about boilers. Tristan even took off his own sweatshirt to soak up the water when it started spilling out of the drain faster than he anticipated! He literally took the shirt off his back for me!! Pine State is a very ethical and dependable company who I would recommend to anyone- especially people who are afraid to be “taken for a ride” by someone because you don’t know what you don’t know.

Shawn showed up just as the scheduler stated and was able to get here much faster than any services I called for help. Even the company that serviced it before didn't contact me until another day or two after Shawn was here. Shawn found the problem very quick and my boiler was up and running and had heat again so I could turn off my electric space heaters. Shawn explained what he found and suggestions for maintenance of my boiler which is shut down in the summer. I will have him back in the spring to service the boiler. He explained being a member and how it saves on service. I had been a member but it had expired. I joined again.

Our radiant heat stopped working in our brand new house the night before the two coldest days of the year. We were able to get someone on the phone right away, and they s scheduled Keith, one of their senior technicians, to come out the next morning. Keith was here from 8:30am-2:30pm. He took the time to check all aspects of our radiant heat system. He replaced the sensor and one of the pumps that were broken. He really took the time to explain everything to us and to answer all of our questions.

Pine State was the only (out of many I contacted) company with the experience to service my hybrid hot water heater. The technician who visited (Keith) was fully knowledgeable and carefully explained the situation. As the repair was going to cost as much as a new unit, I decided to simply let the unit run in electric mode and not use the heat exchange function. To my happy surprise, Pine State did not charge for the evaluative visit! This was a very generous gesture on their part and certainly secured my goodwill and interest in using them for my future needs.

We finally got the gas company to hook up our street and had Pine State install a new high efficiency gas furnace, interface with the gas company to get our house and furnace hooked up AND convert our propane supplementary heaters to natural gas. As was our experience with Pine State's installation of a split AC system several years ago, we found their installation technicians to be outstanding, both in terms of doing their job well and being easy and pleasant to work with. I had a leaking relief valve on my heating system and needed it serviced. I called Pine State and Chis was very helpful getting me on the schedule. The very Next morning Ben called and said they might be able to get in early, which was great due to the nature of the leak. Both Chris and Ben were very professional with helping me out. The technician Mark Called me on the way to the house. Once he arrived he clearly explained what he was going to do for work. Once he started he found a few other issues. He gave me straight forward pricing and clearly explained what needed to be done. He completed the work right then. He even took the time to fix the oil line that was not well attached. We called Pine State for a minor leak. Sam came and fixed what we called him for in no time. Shortly after that we found another leak, totally unrelated to what he came to fix and it ended up being, what we all thought, a huge job! When I called back, not only was the customer service representative patient, understanding and kind, but she was able to have Sam come back in a decent amount of time. It was the beginning of a holiday weekend, but he had no more jobs until we called again. We apologized and Sam was so kind even when he saw the potential job which might lie ahead! However, due to his patience, professionalism and calling other pros, he was able to fix our job for much less money, which easily would have costs us in the thousands. He was AWESOME! Thank you Sam and to those working for Pine State. Everything was top notch and felt very comfortable using this company! Highly recommend!

I am beyond impressed with this company!! They are punctual, polite and professional. I would highly recommend them. We recently moved to Maine and so have been trying to feel our way around finding an electrician, plumber carpenter etc. Being an Interior Designer myself, I appreciate the difficulties of finding honest and reliable tradespersons. Thankfully the previous owners of our home, left us all the properties maintenance records so I was able to reach out to Pine State. I wished I’d done this sooner. They are a one stop shop. I had two great guys come out yesterday morning to fix a small pumping issue, then got a call but a short time later the same day, to say an electrician was available to take a look at a job I had been waiting to get done for 3 months. Needless to say, it was a success and Pete, the electrician, was able to complete the job Professionally. I will definitely be using this company again for future projects. During yearly boiler service, I was charged an additional $400 to replace a failed expansion tank with an Amtrol Model EX-30 expansion tank which retails for $35 - $75. Post replacement, my system had a lot of air and I had to call them them back over to purge the zones (they were quick, however, to get back and correct the issue). Burner developed slow oil leak immediately after servicing which they claimed was unrelated to their work and wanted $150 to fix (admittedly, I am not knowledgeable enough about my burner to intelligently dispute this claim). I hate leaving a less than stellar review especially since I do think the tech was a good guy, but $400 for a cheap expansion tank, even with installation, is objectively very expensive . Note that I’ve used Pine State for a few years but their pricing structure/attention to detail lead me to believe they may have a lot on their plate right now so one less customer might help lighten the load. I’ll take one for the team.

Pine Street called me with a heads up that the service rep was on his way which was very greatly appreciated. Kyle was the service person and was on time, super polite, and not only did a great job with service but also pointed out that my water heater was leaking and needed replacement. I had a great experience with Pine State's plumbing division. I had the good fortune of working with not just one but two Jasons, and they responded quickly to my leaking expansion tank. When it turned out that I would need more extensive well work done, they made sure that my immediate problem with the leaky tank was resolved to buy me enough time to get the well work done. They took plenty of time to explain everything to me thoroughly and make sure I understood the problem and the risks of the work they had to do. My first experience with Pine State Services was very good. I've worked with other companies in the past, but was not given the options/advice that I was looking for. I called Pine State Services due to an issue with my furnace. The technician knew exactly how to fix the issue and explained why the issue was occurring and what needed to be done to fix it. We have used Pine State for years. A few years ago they installed heat exchangers, work was quick and good and reasonable. Heat exchangers require an investment, but it sure pays off. Recently had them do check up on all systems, very thorough, tech explained what he was doing and he did a thorough cleaning and check of systems (natural gas and heat exchangers). That tech explained all the steps he was taking and was thorough and efficient. Yesterday Tim was here for a leaky sink pipe and he was in and out in no time, had the right part and he was on his way.

Two good experiences so far, in the last two months. Had them clean my furnace, and had them come and install a new bathroom sink. In both cases, I didn't have to wait forever in terms of scheduling. They give you the price before they do the work, and they warranty the parts and labor. The technicians are knowledgeable and friendly, show up on time, and do a great job. They are a bit pricey, but I would rather pay a bit more for this type of work, and know it will be done correctly.

Shout out to Owen and crew for fixing our Viessmann oil burner during recent winter storm and cold spell. We live 600 miles from Beachhouse and boiler decided to act out at worst time possible. Problem was complex, but Owen and crew stayed on the case coming out 4 times in 6 days till issue was resolved and correct parts installed. Our service contract definitely paid off and Pine State was very generous in reducing the cost of the repair and only charged one small service charge. Owen called and explained what he had done and answered all my questions thoroughly. I’ll admit, I thought PS was a bit pricey at first, but their friendliness, services offered, and professionalism in resolving this issue convinced me they are worth every penny. I called for service at 7AM, expecting to leave a voice mail message - imagine my surprise when the phone was answered by a person! Then, even earlier than promised, Daniel B called to see if he could stop by for the service. Again, calmness and efficiency prevailed as he fixed the problem and explained options available. This occurred because the former company when installing a new propane hot water heater had neglected to change the condensate line from flowing outdoors to an indoor one to go to the sump pump. Without Pine State this could’ve been disastrous given temps, and we’d called about 7 heating/plumbing companies and only Pine State was responsive.

This company has saved me more than once. The 24/7 service is a lifesaver. They clearly explain the $79 to come and waive it if there is a repair. I prefer this pricing structure to the surprise ending you can get with other companies. I don't know of any other company that doesnt charge for travel. They do quality work and the techs are always nice. They look out for the customer by asking a question or two to make sure that you dont get charged for an unnecessary visit. I had a repair that needed another type of specialist but they figured that out on the way over so i wouldnt have to pay for a call. I also had one that happened on a Friday night or weekend and they asked first that if it could wait until Monday when it would cost me less. It couldn't, it was an emergency, but I appreciated the thought!

Within a short amount of time Chris Levesque arrived on behalf of the company and made short work of the issue. Since we don’t have an electrician, he called one in for me who was creative and persistent. Both did a great job. I’m glad we signed up for the Preferred Customer Club, definitely made a difference on a tough day.

Keith arrived earlier than expected, after checking with me, and he assessed the issue I was having with my four Nest thermostats. He was very knowledgeable, especially about Nest thermostats, and very good at explaining what was causing my thermostat issues, came up with a solution and told me approximately what it would cost. When I told him to go ahead with the job, he went back to the office to get the needed parts then returned and worked for the next several hours. He was very thorough and checked that all thermostats were working correctly before he left. He also took the time to show me what he had done for hook-ups to the furnace. And he very willingly answered the many questions that I had. I am a happy customer!!
