I had a 30 year old gas boiler that was at end of life. The plumber who originally installed it was no longer supporting this unit nor installing replacement units. I needed a new plumber. I read reviews (positive-Google) about MaineShore and contacted them. Spoke with Paul who was very responsive and provided a very competitive quote for a replacement gas boiler. I accepted and we agreed to an installation date for a month or so later. However two weeks later my old boiler totally died. I called Paul on a Monday, he immediately moved the installation date up and had the new boiler installed and running on Wednesday. He was great and his entire crew were totally professional and a pleasure to speak with. A bunch of really nice guys. I look forward to many years working with MaineShore for all of my plumbing needs. They are great.

My old boiler/water heater was failing to heat our multiple zone home, provide hot water and also had a new leak. I called MaineShore, spoke with Paul and sent a few pictures of our 25+ yr old unit. Paul correctly identified the unit which was uncovered in the pictures and set up an estimate for the next day which was a Sunday. Using most of Monday to compare estimates we decided to hire MaineShore who was competitively priced and was able to get to work quick! Our new wall hung unit was up and running by Wednesday afternoon, our home warmed up nicely and the hot water flow is perfect. The crew was clean, respectful, and showed up ready to get the job done! Paul responded to my inquiry promptly, showed up when he said he would, and followed up with a quote. After hiring him, he called when he said he was going to, showed days sooner than I ever expected and got right to work. Paul and his two assistants are pleasant, prompt, and professional. They installed a gas line from the meter to my kitchen so that I could cook with gas! I would definitely recommend MaineShore to others!

We woke up this past Sunday morning to a very cold house. I called Paul Smith at Maineshore Mechanical. He guided me through a relight of the pilot on our very old furnace, which he had serviced in the past. No-go. He came by less than two hours later, identified the issue and my options. I asked him to send me a quote for a new furnace with an on-demand water heater. By that evening, I had the quote. I asked him a few followup questions which satisfied my few reservations, gave him the go ahead on Sunday night and he and his crew began installation Tuesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon, we had a new wall mounted Bosch Combi furnace and water heater operational and running perfectly! And....the place was spotless when he and his crew left with the old furnace and old water heater - GONE!!! That's a lot of detail but it highlights what I think makes Paul and Maineshore Mechanical so impressive: - Responsiveness and customer service mentality - Knowledge of equipment, especially of the new high efficiency equipment (which is a more complex install) - No trying to sell me something I didn't want - An outstanding crew capable and licensed in all needed trades (plumbing, heating, electrical) - Doing EXACTLY what he said he would do at exactly the agreed upon price. - Making it easy for me, the customer I highly recommend Maineshore Mechanical for both installations and service. They are, in a word, outstanding!

My house is 200 years old, need I say more. A work in progress for 17 years, then to make it extra hell my pipes froze, an absolute nightmare. I had several estimates, and the end results were the same to place a new oil furnace, “ we are probably gonna have to open up the walls to find leaks” etc,, I’m like,, hell no, besides trying to get the homeowners insurance to pay just for the boiler was a nightmare, so that meant I would have to get an estimate to repair the walls too,,, so that was not an option at all. So then I contacted Paul,, a new approach,,bypass all old piping and put brand new pipes in with a new system. I opted for energy efficient propane, done with the oil furnace. Because of the age of this house you have to think outside of the box, the install was not exactly straight forward, however, the way the heating elements were installed was on point, they go with the house, and the heat, way better than oil, nice even heat that heats the house in minutes. So thank you Paul and Joe, I learned a lot along the way, and most of all, thank you for taking on this project.

I had an inefficient old oil burner that had been converted to natural gas years ago, plus an old, failing electric hot water heater. Maine Mechanical replaced both giant appliances with a little, wall mounted gas boiler it’s way more efficient and much more quiet.
