We are so pleased that we went with Laplante Electric for our condo lighting remodeling. We had a lot of projects to tackle and weren’t sure on the specifics of what we should do. Chris came in and guided us every step of the way, clearly outlining everything that would be done and letting us approve things before he went to work with the installation. There were times when Chris had to call in other electricians (Todd and Keith) and they were all friendly as well. We ended up expanding our project over the course of a few visits. Each time we had to have them come back to finish the work, we requested Chris because he was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and so helpful. Every time we flick on a switch, I’m so happy that we chose Laplante. I hope we don’t have any more electrical projects in our future, but if we do, I know who to call…and that is so reassuring!

Live on NH Seacoast and reached out to LaPlante for a solar estimate; we had spoken to a handful of other solar companies within NH and MA. Overall experience with the Solar Consultant and responsiveness was very positive. Pricing was extremely fair and competitive in which we choose to further the process with LaPlante. However, undergone multiple construction projects over the years, we tend to be very engaged and go above and beyond with our Due Diligence: (1) Found it interesting, there were not (1) recent public Solar Installation Reviews - All you find is Heat Pumps and Generators (2) Workmanship warranty was one of 2 sticking points - LaPlante warranty is sub-standard in comparison with others in the solar Industry. Based on the references we've conducted, although LaPlante prides themselves of having very good customer service which the references did acknowledge; where they fail is to back up their "outstanding customer service experience" with an adequate workmanship warranty - this was / is a showstopper for us: 2 years vs. minimum of 5 - 12 years with neighboring solar companies in ME, NH, and MA. Some companies even offer an option to extend the warranty, but zero options with LaPlante. Although not as important as the warranty, we found their upfront deposit requirements are 20% - 25% higher than companies. Most solar companies require between $2K - $3K to begin the process, permitting, paperwork with the Utility company, then another 50%+ when materials and installation begin. We questioned this and LaPlante didn't get a clear answer why a 30% deposit was required other than "that's our policy"; our thoughts was possibly due to cash flow issue. Guess our approach is "too Corporate :-) for LaPlante", but it's important to look at the entire picture. It's like making a major purchase; if the price or something else is too good, there's a reason. Although we would have liked to do business with LaPlante, we just couldn't land at a spot where we felt comfortable as responses to our questions appeared very scripted. Do your homework :-) !!

Beyond thrilled with the professionalism. I got sick of losing my power all the time because of storms. Within 2 weeks of my initial inquiry with them, I had a fully operational stand by generator at my house ready to go Incase we lost power again. The sales rep they sent was extremely knowledgeable about the generators and all the other equipment that was needed for the set up, and was more then willing to work with me to find a set up that would work for my house and my budget. At no point did he try to up sell me to something that I didn't need. The installation crew was very fast and professional. They showed up right on time and worked quickly. When they say a one day install they mean it. From the time the arrived to when they left, it was 5 hours! And before they did anything, they always checked with me before they did it. Placement of the generator, placement of the transfer switch. Everything is neat and clean, any mess they made is cleaned better then when they arrived. I'm very happy with everything, and I will 100% use them again for any electrical issue I have, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone!

I got a call back from LaPlante within 12 hours of leaving my message. It was a small job, hard wiring a smoke detector. They fit me in the next day, and did a great job! LaPlante’s price point was the same as the others, but we were much more impressed with their knowledge and professionalism, which is why we ultimately went with them. I just moved to the area and really needed AC. I called and the phone was answered right away, I scheduled someone to come out to give me an estimate and they came out very quickly and were very professional and I had an estimate before she left. Went ahead and scheduled the installation of the heat pump and had it installed in less than three weeks. Installers were really nice knew what they were doing and professional. They had already filled out the form to get my rebate with only a few things for me to fill in and then email . The heat pump/mini split is working great. I highly recommend this company.

LaPlante Electric just finished installing a Generac generator for my home and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever so impressed with any type of service (installation, service or repair) that I have ever received for any of my homes. The entire team was friendly, enthusiastic and completely competent in every way. Zack who handled all the electrical work quickly adjusted to every unforeseen circumstance while constantly making sure everything he did completely met my expectations. Tate and Logan who handled the gas connections and generator physical placement and installation not only expertly did their jobs but also made sure that all their final work left every aspect of my home in a better condition than when they started. Overall experience could have been better but they still deserve 5 stars. The reason is it took 2 Days to complete the installation. They were very responsive and the Heat Pumps are great. They had to redo the electrical panel because the way they modified it was not done to code and failed the inspection. The electrical panel needed to be changed and was missed upon initial review. They came back out and did it properly which is why it took 2 days to complete. The Team they have are very professional and understood my frustration with the electrical panel and having to schedule another day to correct. I wish everything was more thoroughly looked at before they installed the Heat Pumps as it would have been completed correctly the first time. I understand that it can't go well 100% of the time. This is a great company to work with and I'm happy we selected them to do our installation. I would recommend them to anyone as they really do value making sure we were satisfied with our experience.

Still loving my Heat Pump! And it still works great! Gone are the days of me trying to get that huge and heavy AC in the window each summer! We had our whole house generator installed on a Tuesday and on Friday the power went out, for 6 hours. It kicked right on. We worked with Adam Fredrick to get the system designed and installation scheduled, but ran into a few installation issues. Thankfully, Adam Fredrick and Adam Orzechowski took the time to speak several times, and returned for a site visit to understand the challenges and find effective solutions. It is clear they are committed to ensuring the systems they design and install function effectively and efficiently. In addition, it is clear they, and LaPlante, take their business and reputation seriously. Adam F. seems to live and breathe heat pumps - you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who can discuss the systems with more knowledge, data, and gusto! He is committed to troubleshooting and problem-solving, both of which are critical when updating outdated systems in old houses. Highly recommend!

There were 3 trucks and several teams here all day - every person here was pleasant, helpful and professional. Hello Wife and I was utilizing on/off Main breaker when needing generator during power outage !! At first, The breaker didn't engage when power came back on !! Service Tech arrived, and I explained cenario process when utilizing the Reliance circuit box for generator operation !! Service Tech informed me that the Main breaker was an outdated Crouse Hinds, and that the entire box would need replacement at a $2800 + !! I knew that that price was over inflated !! Interesting, the Tech may held back the fact that I didn't need to utilize Main breaker with the Reliance box, for the box handles all switching needs !! Tipical 200amp breaker box replacement cost 12 to $1500 !! Do your research before needing service !! Oh, wife loves the company 's commercial!!

The installation team from LaPlante was excellent, they arrived at the time they said they would be at my home. There were seven LaPlante employees working the job, all were very courteous and knew what they were doing. They all explained what they were working on, answered questions and were careful working inside and outside the house to minimize tracking dirt and mud as it was raining. All three installations were completed in one day as promised. A walkthrough on each installed item was conducted with all my questions answered. LaPlante Electric installed a Kohler whole house backup generator for me. The were courteous, on time, and did a great job. They answered all my questions, kept me informed throughout the whole process, and worked quickly and cleanly. The whole job took a little less than a day. They showed up right on time - with 3 trucks, and finished ahead of schedule. The power was shut off and I was home so I was able to watch them. It’s not often I see workmen actually jogging around the house to get stuff from their truck. They knew what they were doing, did a great job, and even cleaned up well! They had to did a small trench for the power into the house from the generator, which they filled in; then when I was out inspecting the work I noticed that they actually put grass seed down over where the lawn was dug up. Most impressive. I plan on using them for all my electrical work from now on. The only reason I can’t comment on the value is because I did NOT shop around. This was during the pandemic, I wanted it done right, these guys were highly recommended, so I went with them without doing any comparison shopping. As far as I am concerned, I definitely feel like this was money well spent.

LaPlante Electric was not the first contractor we spoke with regarding this installation, but it was clear to us that LaPlante was head and shoulders above the others in their presentation of the process and equipment available to us, which is why we chose them after comparing others. From when the process began to it's conclusion everything they said that would happen did so at a level that went beyond our expectations. The men who actually did the work were extremely professional in their work and manners. The work was done during a winters day that was so very cold and during the prcess a brand new piece of equipment failed but they were able to procure an alternate, by going to a local rental equipment facility near by and were able to continue that portion of the work with minimal loss of time. This whole house installation also included the complete replacement of our outdated electrical panel with a new 200 amp service. All phases of the work were done just as described to us during their initial presentation, including the fact that it would all be done in one day, and as a contractor myself, I found this to be an incredible accomplishment. A+ all around for LaPlante! These guys were great. The whole estimate and install experience was virtually flawless. This company is VERY organized – they even have an auto text appointment reminder! The man who came for our initial estimate showed up on time and was friendly, answered any questions we had, and was not pushy at all. He even gave us an estimate before leaving the house, so we knew right away if the quote was within our budget. Many companies take at least a week to generate a quote after coming to your house, so we really liked having that info immediately. The install for the heat pump was expected to be within 1-3 weeks of the initial estimate appointment – which we were thrilled with– but we got even luckier as they had an open appointment slot open less than a week after our initial estimate. Many other companies were booked out 3+ months! On the day of the heat pump install, the two men arrived exactly when they were supposed to and the whole installation went so smooth. They confirmed all the details, were more than willing to answer all of my questions, and were very professional. They cleaned up everything before they left too, which really impressed us. There was one minor part (the rain protector) that inadvertently did not get installed that day, which was truly a VERY minor glitch, given the job at hand. However, LaPlante showed up the very next morning with the rain protector and I received several apologies about this minor glitch. This really shows how much LaPlante cares about their customer satisfaction and commitment to doing the job right. Our heat pump has only been on for a week but it feels amazing in this heat and humidity. I have already pass along a recommendation for LaPlante to a colleague. :)

We hired LaPlante Electric to install a Mitsubishi heat pump 5 head ductless system in our home. They were INCREDIBLE every step of the way. We got multiple quotes and no one was better on price, approach, quality of install, or timeliness of completion. One of the very best parts- while other local companies were booking out even just quote appointments weeks or months, LaPlante’s process from my initial contact with them to quote, to completed perfect(!) install was less than two weeks!! In the middle of summer!! Incredible! Aside from their general awesomeness, they committed to getting the entire large job done within ONE day! They came around 8am, brought a large crew (who were all very knowledgeable, courteous and experienced), and knocked it out by 4pm. Such a difference from other companies who take 3-7 days for installing a similar system and leave your house torn apart in the process. And LaPlante doesn’t cut any corners- they were incredibly detailed, minimized visual impacts (exterior visibility of line covers, etc.) as much as possible, and ensured everything was working perfectly. If you live in southern Maine or NH and you get a ductless heat pump system installed by anyone other than LaPlante, you’re honestly selling yourself short! The whole crew was amazing- every single one, even right out of the gate with Scott, who took the time to really understand what we needed/wanted and made sure they could deliver. Great company and great people. If you’re considering getting a heat pump for efficient air conditioning and efficient heat supplement in the winter, do it! So worth it, it’s really amazing!

My wife and I had Laplante Electric install our new Kohler whole house standby generator. Two trucks arrived a little ahead of schedule. There were 4 technicians who went right to work, each person with his assigned task. They verified with us for the exact location where the generator was to be placed prior to starting which made us happy. My wife has flower beds near the new installation and the men were very considerate of her request. The project was much more involved than I imagined and each person knew exactly what and how to do it. Installation took about 5 1/2 hours from start to finish. They never took a break or stopped for lunch; just kept working. When the job was completed, the team leader went over the entire installation with me and explained how but works. Then he actually ran the generator through its startup process be and shutdown. The other 3 men totally cleaned up and left the house in perfect condition. Very clean job. Very clever young fellow who fixed a problem that Mancini Electric was unable to fix and/or diagnose the prior summer. My basement gets very humid and damp July & August, and there has been a shortage happening affecting the 1st floor and basement lights and outlets. Last year Mancini Electric replaced a switch, but never found the root problem, which, to be fair to them, was difficult to diagnose. However, LaPlante found the problem in July 2021, rewired from kitchen to basement and voila, problem fixed. Nicely done. Fellow who did the work was responsive, creative, and nice. I would still recommend he get a vaccine, but I'm not going to push that. Push a young person to do anything and you're bound to get rebuffed. Oh well. Cheers, EMBurke

I found these folks after searching the internet for a firm to connect a generator I'd found a great deal on. They were not the least expensive choice. But they were the right choice. Their work is really good. They are friendly, personable, and what I really wanted: Expert. The minute I talked to Scott, I knew he knew his stuff. Cold. He didn't know I knew already what he was talking about ... but I did, and I recognized that he was totally on top of his game. We encountered a couple of initial questions regarding the estimation process, that were quickly resolved to satisfaction amicably. The crew sent to install was thorough, their work exemplary, and their expertise clear. They were precision fast, and designed the installation in an unexpectedly clean way. We had a massive heat pump system (7 heads) installed in our new house. LaPlante was very thorough in their quoting process and walked us through the entire proposed system. They were also able to schedule us very quickly, which was much appreciated in the heat wave we had this summer. I would have given them 5 stars, but there seemed to be a big disconnect between the thoroughness of the quote and the execution on day of. They had taken tons of pictures, drawn floor plans, etc, but the installation crew didn't seem to be aware of any of that. There were some snafus (like installing the unit in the wrong place on the wall, then having to move it and leaving holes). When things started to go sideways, they called in Scott, who came on site and straightened everything out. In the end, we are very happy with our system. I just think that perhaps they should ensure that the person who quotes it is there on the first day to walk everyone through the plan and make sure it goes off without a hitch, or that the crew refers to the details. All in all, very satisfied by LaPlante's work and willingness to make it right.

Mike wrote up the details of the job and the technicians, Aaron, Scott and Matt executed the project. Scott came out and reviewed our needs and quickly sized up a solution using mini-splits in 3 separate rooms. The crew that came out to do the installation was fantastic! Each one of them handled a specific unit and checked with my wife regarding its placement on the wall. The inside mounting of the units was done within an hour and they left the rooms spotless (no sheetrock dust, no drill shavings, nothing) before they went outside to run the refrigerant lines to the main condenser. They were well organized and each one did a professional job. Neat, efficient runs on the outside of the house. They were all done with 3 units and the condenser unit within 5 hours. The team lead spent more time with us afterwards to check each unit and explain the settings on the hand sets. Would definitely have them back for routine maintenance and any other electrical work we need done in the future.
