I had the pleasure of having Nate and Daniel come to my residence to repair my AC. The company called me a few days prior to confirm my 0800 appointment, and they were here promptly on time! They went far and beyond my expectations, replacing the coils in the air handler (they had to make some adjustments to fit the new coils), line set, and a new out door unit, all in a very timely and professional manner. The system itself looks a lot cleaner than it used to. I would definitely use them again. A special shout out to Justin who stopped by to ensure we were satisfied with the work and did a quick look over of the system. All in all, I can’t say enough about these guys! Thank you for all the hard work.

Matt Herd came to our house to do a system checkup on our furnace last week. We could not be more pleased with all he did for us. His expertise, experience and patience were impressive. He took time to answer questions we had about the furnace, provided us with recommendations for the ongoing, monthly maintenance we do on the system, and checked our thermostat, answering questions about how it is best used. He was very thorough in his examination of the furnace and left it looking like it was brand new. We will not hesitate to use First Call for any future needs, and we would love to have Matt as the technician.

We used to be fans of First Call. No longer. We purchased both heating and A/C systems from them 5 years ago. We have them serviced in both Spring and Winter. This year they didn't return calls to schedule a date for the winter service. We had to follow up again. Then they are three weeks out, even though we had paid a premium for what they called "priority service". Found another highly rated HVAC contractor with a more personable customer service approach that can meet our needs two weeks before First Call was able to. We'll no longer be referring friends or business associates to First Call.

Wow...A++++++!!! Let me just say I continue to be blown away by the level of service, professionalism and all-around friendliness and great attitude of the First Call team. Chris was a lifesaver! He came to my house promptly, was courteous and went straight to figure out the problem I was having with my thermostat and furnace. He had it figured out in no time! I can't tell you the RELIEF to find out that my whole system wasn't broken but it was something small and he had it up and running in maybe 10 minutes max. I can't thank Chris enough, and the consistently in service we get every time from First Call. Recommend 100%.

We just would like to say as a employee to this company they take care of their associates and their customers. I am an employee and I had a medical emergency which required a heart stent. They had everything in place to make sure I was safe and take care of my medical needs. Including my schedule and made sure I worried about nothing during this time. Our heat cut off and we only found out after work, so it was late when we called. Someone picked up the phone, was very nice, and said they could fit us in their schedule and come out the next day. Blake came out and diagnosed the problem, and fixed the issue but explained he would need to come back out for a long term fix. Unfortunately the quick fix didn't last, but when we called back they couldn't have been nicer and Blake came back out right away so we wouldn't have to spend another night without heat. He spent his whole evening fixing our furnace and we so appreciated it. A very nice team of people who will take good care of you. Five well deserved stars.

My electric heater (part of heat pump) stopped working last week. I called First Call and scheduled a service call. In the meantime, the heater started working, but I wanted to have the system checked. Chris showed up right on time. I called yesterday, excited to have been scheduled next day. Daniel arrived early within scheduling window, another surprise. We addressed my concerns and Daniel immediately began checking boxes. He must have been here for a full hour, going over every last detail prior to discovering the main issue. You see... this is only our third summer with this system. We've never had any complaints until second zone upstairs stopped cooling. Daniel's an expert, knew exactly where the issue was and sat down to repair wiring at the furnace level. I had an AC install scheduled for first thing in the morning. Robert and Tyler arrived at my house right on time. They were very professional and courteous. There appeared to be an issue where they initially thought they would have to run the AC to furnace lines on the inside wall of the garage. This would've left it looking unclean. After reviewing all of their options, they found a solution (albeit a more difficult one) of going into the crawl space and running the lines under the house. This left it looking very clean and natural. They explained the AC unit and controls to me, gave me their card, and let me know to reach out if I had any questions. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the install and customer service provided by Robert and Tyler.

Want to say how pleased I was with your service tech, Dillon. He arrived on time, was very personable with a great sense of humor and asked a lot of questions to figure out what had happened after our recently installed gas pack (heat/air) combo unit when last night, the unit stopped working. I waited a bit and tried various things as listed in the manual. Dillon came today and went through all the steps. After a last round of questions, he went to check one more item. That was the problem. A unit which triggers the heat to be on or off and was not part of the current installation and was from the old unit. (Hope I described it correctly!) He then fixed as best he could and started arranging for getting the right people out to fix it. Good job, Dillon!

First Call is the best. They respond very quickly and get someone out right away without charging an emergency or urgent fee. They were very accommodating of my personal preference for them so send the same tech as the diagnostic call. Daniel was my tech. So polite, just so nice and respectful to me, a senior citizen. Daniel went above and beyond, by securing a couple of loose boards for me that were not part of the furnace maintenance call. You have a good employee there and he is a credit to your company. First Call Heating and Daniel provide exemplary service and I would recommend them when you need HVAC work.

We have done business with First Call for a couple of years, and each time they have always done excellent work with professional employees. We were so impressed when all 5 of the employees arrived, and with all that was required to install a new furnace and a/c unit they coordinated their work and everything went so smoothly. They finished within the amount of time the salesperson set up for the job. They also have a call center for customers after they’re closed for the day. This company has been around for a long time and will be there when or if I have a problem. The salesperson listened to what we ask for and did not try to sell us something we didn’t need. Happy Thanksgiving! It was for us largely because of the crew from First Call. Our electric heater went out...the week prior. The house was 'chilly.' We called. Steve came right away. We discussed the options and decided to switch to gas. He was able to work us into their busy schedule during the holiday week, and we were off. The guys arrived promptly at 8:30 Monday morning, and JOE, JASON, JOSE from first call + FRED & EVELYN from Bear Electric tied into the job. By Wed. we had a completely new system plus a gas fireplace insert, air conditioner, thermostat, and air filter installed and running. Our workmen were the best I've experienced in some time. In addition to being efficient and doing what seems to us to be excellent work, they were prompt, clean, respectful, polite, and always responsive to questions or comments. This is a little late in coming, but better late than never. I had First Call replace my entire heating and air system in July 2019. They did a great job and we've been happy with the system and their following-up for servicing. I had to contact them last week as I noticed that the heat pump stopped working late in the afternoon last Tuesday. Yes, the day that it was 99 in McMinnville. I spoke with Clint early Wednesday morning, he listened to me and then had a repairman (Harvey) out to my house just before 9am. It took Harvey about 45 minutes to locate the problem and fix it. Turned out to be some lose wiring and a blown fuse. Their dedication to their clients and their professionalism in standing behind their product is unmatched. Thank you First Call for a great experience!

I was blown away by Nick's expertise and ability to troubleshoot. Another company had tried and failed to fix my AC; their recommendation was to switch to ductless air. I might choose to do that sometime in the future, but I just don't have the $13,000 to go with that option. I decided to call First Call for a second opinion and I'm so happy that I did! Nick took the time to listen to the symptoms of the problem and was able to identify a solution that the other company had missed. He was thorough, kind, and explained his process as he went along. After a remodel, my A/C unit failed to cool my home when the temperature rose into the mid 90's. I called First Call and a couple of weeks later they were able to schedule a tech. The first tech arrived, new on the job and due to a lack of tools, was dispatched elsewhere. The second tech Scott arrived. He systematically went through the system and eventually removed two additional pounds of coolant from the system. My house now stays at 73 degrees on the 90+ degree days.

First Call has been excellent for us. They replaced our Furnace and AC about a year ago and took the time to do outstanding finish work. We had an error code on our furnace, called on a Saturday and Dan arrived exactly when he said he would a couple of hours after our call. From my first call, to the final clean up after installation, the whole process from that start to the finish was very easy, professional and well done. Steve was very knowledgeable about the best products and solutions when we were discussion quotes for equipment and different installation options. He was very honest and straight forward about what we could expect from performance based on the age of the house and condition of the ducts. I never felt pressured or an undue “sales job”, and his level of follow up was appropriate both before and after we signed the agreement. Installation was top-notch and Justin did an amazing job. He was very thoughtful about how to run the new lines, considering appearance (inside and out) as well as function. The actual path of the lines was done to allow for future finishing of the interior space and was certainly not a short cut path of least resistance approach. He really takes pride in his work and was very professional, knowledgeable and customer service focused. GREAT JOB!

I had my ducts cleaned today and the experience was fantastic. Andre was punctual and explained the process thoroughly before he started and got right to work with great attention to detail. About two hours in Dustin joined him because he was in the area and with both of them working made short work of my duct cleaning project. Both workers were very easy to talk with and understood exactly what needed to be done. When the work was all finished they cleaned up everything and left no mess. They even showed me what came out of my ducts and it was pretty disgusting. A+++ Update 09/29/2016: Following the duct cleaning I had my +30 year old propane furnace replaced with a high efficiency system which included a new furnace, heat pump, whole house filter and smart thermostat. The installers Dustin and Merle were fantastic and I would highly recommend asking for them if you need to have an install done. Both installers were easy to talk with and were meticulous about what they were doing and explained everything in great detail. The even cleaned up and hauled away everything including my antique furnace. We have not had a furnace for the last 15 years and have heated with our gas fireplace and some electric heaters. This morning it was 46 degrees outside and 70 degrees inside I thought I was in the tropics :)

First Call installed a Furnace; Hot Water Tank; & Gas Insert over 10 years ago. That project was handled in a very expert manner. Since then every interaction for maintenance has been handled professionally from the people scheduling to the friendly/knowledgeable tech that visits your home. Had a slight issue with the now 10 year old gas insert which is completely understandable . Anyway, Jim the tech that came out really knew his stuff. l am not always your best or happiest customer regarding oil purchasing/delivery. However I have never been disappointed with any service call I have had. So pleased with the courtesy in the appointment booking, the follow-up reminder call and most of all the call letting me know Corey was on his way. He is a delightful person but more than that he explained everything to me as he did the routine workup on my furnace I am always hesitant about having workmen in my home but this was my second appointment with him and I no longer will worry about calling if I need help. Also, Corey took the time to show me how to set my thermostat to the daytime and evening temperatures I wanted. Corey Green, First Call Service Technician, was very thorough in the annual maintenance/check up for both my furnace and A/C. He was very personable and professional, asking me if I had any issues or questions to be addressed with either appliance before he started the work. He left the work areas clean and reported to me that I would be receiving documentation regarding the service through my email account. As always, I was very impressed with the excellent support that First Call provides for both my furnace and A/C.

First Call Heating and Cooling was really easy to work with. We replaced our furnace, AC unit, and hot water heater. Matt came and did a consultation. He showed me all of the different options and was not pushy. We scheduled for it to be done and within a week from the consultation with Matt we had a new furnace, AC unit and hot water heater. On the morning of the first day, Matt came with the installers to go over everything with them. Joe and Victor arrived on time and worked VERY hard for 2 days installing our new system. They were working in a finished basement, having to work around walls. I was very impressed with their professionalism and how focused and knowledgeable they were. I am amazed at what they did and how well it turned out. Along with Joe and Victor, throughout the 2 days an electrician came, plumber, and another First Call employee to work on the gas- quite the operation. We got a high efficiency furnace and putting the ventilation horizontal is no easy task, but they did it with ease (or at least made it look easy). Joe and Victor cleaned up when they were all finished and even had me check before they left to make sure it looked okay. Joe went over the new thermostat and explained everything before leaving as well. Matt also came to check in the second afternoon, which I thought was very professional and I appreacited his follow up. We are very happy that we went with First Call for our furnace, AC, and hot water heater. We had been using them for maintenance of our old system, and will continue to use them for our new one.

First Call Heating and Cooling really came through for us when we didn't know who to turn to for our A/C repair. The company that installed our A/C 14+ years ago was out 3 separate times recently to diagnose why our unit was short cycling. Their service technicians never really fixed the problem because it happened again on the hottest day on record here in Oregon. When I called to have a service technician come out, and fix the problem that was supposedly fixed on the previous visit; I was informed that it would be a week and a half before they could send anyone. That was on June 27 and more record setting hot weather was on it's way. July 8th was the best they could do. We have been a loyal customer to this other company for over 20 years.. We have bought 2 gas furnaces, and our current A/C from this company- and although their technicians were out 3 times for this same problem, and they couldn't get it right; there was no consideration for this fact. In fact it was their technician who caused the first short cycle event in the first place. He miss-wired a capacitor when replacing the old one. Enough was enough. We felt we could no longer trust this other company to actually fix the problem correctly. A friend who has used First Call Heating and Cooling for years and has nothing but high praise for them suggested I give them a call. We called First Call Heating and Cooling on June 28th and made an appointment for one of their service technicians to come out and see if they could diagnose and actually fix the problem. The appointment was for June 30th instead of July 8 like the other company. First Call Heating and Cooling wasn't too busy to come rescue us from our dilemma. Service Technician Chris Arnold arrived within the time frame promise us and he was very courteous. Chris listened as I explained what the A/C was doing and what the other technicians prior to him had done. Chris ran some diagnostics and found several problems that had not been addressed by the other technicians (the last one was their service manager). Chris took care of issues one at a time and in a logical order. The solution was quite simple and was something the technicians from the other A/C company totally missed and never even considered. I am very happy to say that our A/C unit is performing great and we have had no further issues. Thank you Chris!! We most definitely will be using First Call Heating and Cooling for all of our heating and cooling needs and Chris Arnold will be the technician we ask for to service our equipment. Corey came by due to our furnace not working. The ladies answering the calls are always alert and try to get us service right away. This was a late morning call and they fit us in the same day! Corey was friendly, attentive and polite. He wasn't in a rush or impatient. He could have easily said due to the work needed on our furnace to call and make a future appt. He let us know the cost upfront and explained how to keep our old furnace running in top condition. ( Didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need w/ scare tactics) I'm so glad we are in the area to use First Call. I've always had excellent service when calling and scheduling. We had the same sales guy (Steve) from two homes ago. He has been there 24 years and is an absolute pleasure to work with. We had him take a look at adding some gas options and though his insight and honesty we settled on adding air conditioning vs. a heat pump since we already have a 98% efficient gas furnace. We were going to add a tankless gas hot water heater but there is still some galvanized pipe in the house and it isn't recommended. We will change to a direct flue gas "tank" heater when the electric one wears out. The workers were punctual (to the minute) and did a perfect job. They were friendly and informative. First Call is the only place we work with for heating and cooling needs. They are really something special. Next project will be gas fireplace inserts :)

City of Portland came and inspected/approved our new Mitsubishi ductless mini-split yesterday, so we are ready for the heat! No more fans and window AC units for us. I have run the 3 room system up and down the heating/cooling temps and I am excited to know that our upstairs will be comfortable no matter what the season. The First Call team was outstanding. Just had Joe and Adrian from First Call here at my home today installing our new AC unit. These guys are professional and thorough. They even laid carpet protection sheeting down and covered the cloths in my sons closet to keep them clean while they were accessing the attic from his closet. More important, they were thorough with their installation and asked me a lot of questions about the history of my current AC system, my home etc. to ensure they took care to cover all the bases. They cleaned up after themselves! How often do service providers clean up after themselves? Almost never. They completed our install is about 1&1/2 days The installers were very courteous and friendly. The air handler was up and running the first and work on the heat pump install finished the second day. They were respectful of our property and did a nice job cleaning uip. We had a small problem that was caught by the mechanical inspector(inspection was OKed) and a technician was here the next day and took care of the problem. Again I must emphasis that the problem was very minor. We are very pleased with the work and the new units.

Just had a complete oil to gas furnace conversion done, and it was an awesome experience! The work included removal of the 25+ year-old furnace from our basement, removal of the oil tank and all tubing from the garage, installation of a new gas line (no service to house previously), new high-efficiency furnace, new air conditioning unit outside the garage, and a complete duct cleaning (last cleaning unknown, but over 20 years). There was a lot of custom work required, but that didn't stop the "dream team" of Abel M., Aaron M., Jason, Dustin W., Andre T. from rocking the entire installation in less than two days--the new furnace was actually up and running after the first day! We couldn't be happier with how it went. Last summer First Call replaced our 95 year old oil burning furnace/boiler with the latest gas fired furnace/boiler. It was a huge job, which included asbestos removal first, and then cutting up the old boiler to take it out. Aaron H., Joe G. and Jim were the mechanics, with Jim being the actual boiler mechanic. This crew was friendly and a pleasure to work with. The job was finished on schedule and there was never any need to report ANYTHING about the new furnace that was not perfect from the get-go. This is a rare experience with a job this large and complex. First Call is a wonderful resource to have in the city of Portland. If given the chance, I would have awarded them more stars.

First Call was the heating oil supplier when I bought my house 15 years ago. Our 50-60 furnace was on its way out. Possibly affecting our health. From discussing a gas conversion to the actual conversion yesterday, I have nothing but to give them high marks. Everyone (even office staff on the phone) was so friendly, understanding, and willing to give explanations for any questions. Because this was an immediate change, they paid for the gas company charge for this. They covered the extra cost of an upgraded thermostat for the one they were going to use that didn’t work with our wiring setup. The loan is zero interest with a major national bank. We have worked with Tri County Temp Control since 2009 for our Furnace and A/C maintenance. This year was our first experience with the new combined companies comprising First Call. We had our maintenance conducted as usual (with First Call) and decided to have both our ducts cleaned as well as our dryer vent cleaned. To summarize, it was the best decision we have made in a long time and the First Call team that was dispatched was absolutely incredible! Dustin and Andre were the gentlemen dispatched to our home and they did an AMAZING job for us. They were extremely informative, efficient, and kind. When they first arrived and assessed the situation, they explained in great detail all of the steps that they were going to perform and were quite adamant that we were welcome to ask any and all questions at any time. They were extremely respectful of myself and my wife and were very conscientious about ensuring our indoor kitties did not escape during the process. With the design of our system, these poor gentlemen had to bring in their "portable" device to clean our ducts. We have a two story home and 12 total vents in our home, needless to say they had move it around a great deal (including up stairs). Never once did they have anything even remotely negative to say and were ALWAYS extremely cordial and responsive to inquiries. My wife had asked to see just how dirty things were and they happily obliged. In fact, throughout the process, they were happy to share both before and after pictures to demonstrate their progress. We were beyond satisfied with their great work AND personalities. They also did an incredible job on our dryer vent as well! Dustin spread out a tarp to catch as much of the lint as possible, even though the vent was outside. Once again, he explained thoroughly each step in the process and had no issue with our watching closely to see how the job was progressing. Once again, Dustin and Andre did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job with our duct and dryer vent cleaning. I would certainly recommend them 100% (in fact, did so for two neighbors who already inquired), they will do an amazing job for you! We'll definitely will be calling First Call again for both our Furnace and A/C Maintenance as well as our Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning! 5-stars isn't nearly enough to give these guys! Thanks so much! Can't ask for a better team that works together. Arrived on time, made sure everything fit & worked the way it was suppose to. Took the guys two days to install, our install was not normal & we had never had AC, so there was lots of work to do. They cleaned up & hauled everything away before leaving each day. We've used First Call a couple times now and have been extremely happy both times. We made our service call over the weekend and because it wasn't an emergency we requested a call back Monday morning. The call came in at 7:45am and we had a tech at our door by 1:00. I fully expected to wait at least a day and needless to say was extremely happy they came out when they did. They came when expected and called ahead to tell us they were on their way. Nick was very through and pointed out a couple additional things as just a heads up. Overall we were very happy with the service and will use them again.

Justin Phillip has gone beyond good service.. Everything Justin suggested to put together For my new air and heating unit has preformed Beyond what he stated it would do.. I have cool air in my entire house including the upstairs that prior to this was not receiving any cold air . And sent it directly to his office from my home Outstanding service I got approval of the financing and it all worked seamlessly and with ease. I've had a Trane Heat pump system for seven years which was installed from these guys (they were called tri-country back then). This year, it started acting up due to freon leaking. I've had a technician out (same technician) fives times to fix things. I spent close to $860+ and just found out that my freon is gone again. This technician didn't fix the problem(s). These systems are suppose to last 15 years approximately but I got half that time. Both the initial installation and this years repairs have quality problems. I can not recommend this company to anyone as a result of these problems. (Edited note. Freon was not low despite Roth heating and cooling said it was gone. A third and very experienced person determined this for us. I’ll rate low for early failures from original installation, too long to repair leak this past summer, and terrible quality with trane system - noise developing.)

Several weeks ago First Call did a new HVAC install on our up-stairsTrane MV95 Furnace. Just in time for a good stretch of hot days everything went well and the installation was spot on! Yesterday as luck would have it a previously installed GFI Outlet that was used for a heat tape and the new HVAC A-coil unit condensate water pump decided to false trip, which shut down the furnace blower and the Air Conditioner (most likely due to high attic temperatures). Service tech Nick Livingood, showed up and in under 5-minutes figured out what was going on, and got us back up and cooling!! Nick was great, we talked about changes that I could make as the homeowner, and everything is great!! The Trane heat pump system that we inherited from the last homeowner died completely after 17 years of constant running. I spoke or met with all the companies that carry Trane or American Standard brand units. Lots of creeps and "let me talk about technical things that will fly over your head so I seem professional" types out there-believe me. I was set on the idea of just replacing a part in the unit and keeping it going for a couple more years but Steve at First Call gamely convinced me of the value and cost savings I would be gaining by installing a gas line (we were all electric) and replacing the heat pump that runs 24/7 with an Ac unit and furnace. I also decided to pay a little extra for an air filtration system that I am pleased to have with the dog hair, allergens, fires, etc. The installation process was great. I really have to hand it to Joe G. Victor M. for being efficient, professional, courteous, knowledge and - friendly. These guys went the extra mile to make sure we knew what they were doing when, how long things might take, what it was exactly they were installing, and that everything was clean and tidy when they left. I do not like letting strangers in my house, it bothers me that I have to open my doors contractors whom I know little about. With these guys I felt that they knew what job they were there to do, did it as quickly as possible (while it was 90 degrees btw), and were genuinely nice guys all the while. In addition, a couple hatchways had to be cut into a closet wall to accommodate my new unit and the guys were good enough to get some white metal coverings and install them which makes it look great- and Joe G helped us properly connect the thermostat to our phones so we can change the temp remotely. While we were having the work done we scheduled a duct cleaning for after the install. The AC/Furnace system was installed on a Friday and Harold and Chris were here Tues morning to clean the ducts. The guys were very professional and as genuinely nice and cordial as the first group of guys. They did it less than half a day- including 2 18 ft high returns. Great job guys, looking forward to working with you for years to come (got a great coverage plan to boot!)

My heat pump was not putting out any cold air so the first repairman came out on 8/5 and I was charged $109.00 for a service call where he found the unit had lost all the refrigerant and there was a leak somewhere in the system. He said I would be charged for the next service call as a leak test of $295.00 and add refrigerant for another $300.00. When a different repairman came on 8/12 he did a leak test, found the loose fitting and did not charge me for the refrigerant which was great. This second man that came out seemed like the company stands behind their product more than the first guy. Overall, happy with the results. Update on 5/11/21- Last year it stopped working again, not producing any heat. It had run out of freeon so they replaced all incoming lines and did an excellent job. Still working as of now.

We had First Call install a new 96% efficient furnace to replace our aged less than 80% one. It worked wonderfully at first. The installers used the old AC outlet hose to eliminate water which made sense since our furnace is in the basement and not in the garage. However, pretty soon a problem developed because that system vented out of an exterior wall, which froze on cold days shutting the furnace down because water could not flow out of the pump. Out came Joe G and Abel M to the rescue. They flawlessly re-routed the water outlet system to an interior drain. Job was a difficult one requiring precise drilling through a tile floor which they did hiding the outlet tubing and getting our furnace back online in record time. First Call did right by us and these guys were pros in every sense of the word.

I called First Call in a bit of a panic because the first hot days of 2016 were so hot that I feared it would trigger seizures in the people I care for who have epilepsy. When I explained the situation, First Call was kind and understanding, however, the scheduler explained that they were booked out a couple of weeks and she didn't think it was possible to get a mini-split installed for air-conditioning any sooner. I had heard about First Call's great reputation so I was willing to wait but I was anxious. About 15 minutes after I hung up, I got a call back and I was informed that Steve would fit me in to talk about my needs the next day and the day after that, the fellows would begin the installation! These people really have heart! Steve walked through the home and saw the needs and laid out the plan to install mini-splits for the air conditioning. When Robert and Harper came to do the installation they consulted with Steve again because they had a couple of changes they thought would be of benefit. It was pretty impressive that the techs had the freedom to suggest improvements and that Steve supported those improvements without any ego issues. I truly felt that they all were working together for the best interest of the customer and had no other agenda but that. The next two days, had Robert and Harper here and it was so hot that I feared that they might get heat stroke. They were not only tough and kept working through the heat but they were so kind to the individuals I care for as they came in and out of the home during the installation. Nate was assigned to finish up the installation and again, kept working through the heat. The system got up and running and it was incredible to experience the relief from the heat. Mike Samuel came out (3 times!) because my staff kept messing with the mini-split remote controls. Finally, on the third time out, Mike and I together set the 4 head system so that it wouldn't need to be touched and I took away the remote controls from the staff. Mike never once complained about having to come out so many times and he acted like he was happy to be here and just wanted us to enjoy the comfort of the system. Robert, Harper and Nate, the heroic installers who had braved the heat to get the mini-splits up and running, also made a decision that I was very grateful for. The house had a roofline and siding that caused them to need some specialty parts that had to be ordered. It was blistering hot outside and they were dripping sweat into their eyes as they worked on a ladder on the second story siding. They could have looked at me and said, "Sorry, but we can't finish because we have to order special parts." They could have gotten out of the heat and left it until the parts came in and I wouldn't have been the wiser. Instead, they used ingenuity and some white tape and got that baby working. Later, Merle and Mike came out and spent a full day installing the parts that replaced the ugly (but blessed!) white tape. What else can I say? Human kindness, cheerfulness, patience, not to mention teamwork were the essence of these fellows. I would recommend this company to anyone and I would also recommend the kind of system they installedMitsubishi Mini-Splits. I no longer fear the heat triggering seizures and it was a great experience working with these fellows. Lastly, I want to thank the sweet woman who answered the phone and listened to my dilemma. I do not remember her name, but she could have simply left it that there wasn't a place in the schedule for a quick installation. I was very touched that after she hung up the phone, she did what it took to squeeze us in and then called me back with the good news. Thank you First Call Heating and Cooling!!!

I scheduled a maintenance call for 1/10/20, about 3 weeks out from my call. On 12/26/19, late afternoon, my furnace quit working so I called FIRST CALL. and they said they could have someone for us the next day. This was ok because I keep backup heaters if ever needed. About 2 AM it got cold enough to requir the heaters, so we got them out. At 2:45 AM a car crashed into a power pole near by and , no heat ****. 8:30 AM 12/27/19 I called FC. They told me to let them know when the power was back on, which happened at 9:45 AM. I called them and about 30 min later a very well qualified serviceman was at my door. An hour later the furnace was working like new and we had heat. 5☆ ALL THE WAY.

We have been relying on First Call since 1999 when we purchased the house with an old oil furnace and in ground tank. They kept us warm until the firebox on the old furnace was about to give way and we decided replace it with a modern oil furnace. The performance of the new furnace (about 1/3 the size of the original) was very acceptable. However, we were starting to have problems with the tank and the pipes to the furnace. First Call had "overclocked" the oil pump for several years to make sure enough oil was being drawn. Throughout this time we participated in their "Gold" service plan and autofill programs. Nothing was a surprise during this period. When they switched billing systems there was some confusion about our running balance on the bill, but it was all eventually straightened out. This is to be expected with new billing systems. Time came that the poor overworked oil pump was showing signs the end was coming (after 8 years). And knowing the truly needed repairs were on the tank and fuel lines from it. Having a buried tank, that would be a much bigger job than switching to gas. We decided to make the switch. The process of getting the estimate, selecting options and First Call's handling of Northwest Natural account set up, line installation and inspections was well cared for. We worked with Steve E. for the estimate sales and project coordination. He was easy to communicate to and provided the needed guidance for conversion, installation, financing and final inspections. The gas from the street to the house was sub-contracted by NWNatural and went well. A couple of days later, First Call came with furnace for installation. The crew led by Joe G with Jason H., Nate, Aaron and a Sunwall team did their work efficiently and cleanly limiting their path to our back entrance directly into the basement. Steve provided good instructions for their orientation. And they were able to make some on-the-spot adjustments to the plumbing run. Installation was smooth and things were up and running by the end of the day. It was a full day job to remove the old one and install the new one. At the same time the oil pumper was by to empty the tank. My nits to pick were about some clean-up and some details that was missed. A vacuum, even ours could have been used on the floor under the pipe's path. And I found a small handful of screws about the basement. Two details were missed during the initial installation, a T connector was left off and a joint on the drain fitting was not sealed. A quick call to Steve and the follow-up was scheduled and taken care of by John(?). All these item's weren't critical to the overall experience of the conversion. A couple of days later the 'sludge trunk' was out to get the remnants from the tank. And we were finished and waiting for the first NWNatural gas bill and the finance bill for the installation. Unfortunately due to zoning regulations we were not able to get an A/C unit without the external unit being an eyesore. But for the amount we would use it it was not a deal breaker. We expect to receive service and tune-ups from First Call and expect equally satisfactory experience as the new furnace burns away for the years to come.

1st Call has been my go to company since I bought the house in 1996. But this year I'm going to have to call it quits at $120 an hour this is there base hourly rate $120. it could be even more based on the job I can no longer afford them. I had tech Tracy come to my house and when he was gone. I was left with a $490 dollar bill (I had to leave early. and Tracy did not, did not quote me a price of what it would cost to change out the thermostat. the only price he quoted me was what it would cost if I wanted to air conditioner upstairs fixed). 1 AC couldn't even be fix because of the problem. and the second one all he had to do was replace a thermostat. Tracy when I called him became upset about my questioning the amount of the bill. so I called 1st Call and they adjust the bill but I still can't afford them. so I said thank you even though you're adjusting a the bill at $120 an hour I will not be using you again. The 1 AC does works now that the thermostat was changed out but that was way more than I expected to spend without being told that that's what the cost would be. I am told that the photo of the thermostat I'm showing is $145 man who would've thought of thermostat could be that expensive :-(
