I worked for DH for years, and bought a house. The owner, John knows his stuff. I moved out of state and swore after half a decade, I would do whatever it took to get him back when I relocated back to Maine. He's great. Travis is great, I worked with him for years too. I appreciate their service and dedication very much. It's hard to find now a days. My furnace is running and I'm good to go!

Dog House just performed an annual cleaning on our two heat pumps. The tech was friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, and got his work done efficiently. He informed us that our indoor units weren't dirty enough to warrant a deep (and expensive) cleaning but just needed routine disinfecting and basic maintenance for the indoor and outdoor units. I had assumed in advance that we'd be looking at a bill of at least $500 for two units but the whole cost was a mere $185. We've also used Dog House to service our boiler and water heater and they installed the heat pumps three years ago. Every interaction with them is just great and I have complete confidence in their expertise.

We've used Dog House in the past for normal heater maintenance and had a good experience, so they were the first people we called when we had a burst pipe after the extreme freeze this weekend. Like all the other heat/plumbing companies we called, we didn't immediately get through because everyone was seamped due to the storm. But Dog House was the only company to call us back and they were able to squeeze us in their busy schedule. Communication was great. Josh was our service tech and he was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and efficient. We were very happy with our experience with Dog House.

Keagen, Doug and j from Swansea did an excellent job. They were meticulous about everything they did, very neat throughout the entire installation. When they had finished, there was no trace of being there. They seem to subscribe to the notion of leaving their work space cleaner than they found it.. Keagen was very knowledgeable, personable, listened very attentively, never appeared to be in a rush and was very polite as well as genuinely interested in what we had to say. He is a real asset to the company. There was a bit of disorganized activity around the materials needed for the installation,,mistakes on some supplies, but that was quickly taken care of. Our furnace stopped running and we called for service. We were told that their service calls were all booked for the day but they would add us to the list for the end of the day. Noah Brooks showed up late in the afternoon and replaced our furnace motor. Despite it being at the end of a long day, he took his time to explain everything and completed the job in about 30 minutes. Plumbing problem - the stuff nightmares are made of - but Zach from Dog House took care of everything! From diagnostics, to solution options, from fixing the issue to taking care of the clean up, Zach was awesome. Zach was professional, punctual, friendly, and kind. And maybe I lucked out with timing, but Dog House sent somebody over within a couple hours of my call. And a few hours later, all is well again - phew! I am simply adding another accolade to what I had written before. Today I had to have a gasket replaced and some maintenance work done. Robert , the technician, was thorough, knowledgeable, efficient. I have been a fan of DogHouse Energy since they switched my oil heating system to natural gas several years ago. They are efficient, knowledgeable, personable . They have since done annual service work on the system and spotted a defect that was covered by the warranty from the company that had made the part. They were diligent in pursuing the company to cover the cost to replace the part.They have done the installation on connecting natural gas to my generator and to my gas stove insert. The staff including the owner, technicians and office staff are always friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. They provide excellent work .. good value for the money. ***** 5 stars

An updated review,(12/22) I came home after being away for several weeks to an unpleasant smell in my water. I called and talked to Amy at Dog House and she was able to get me an appointment to have someone come check it out within just a couple days!! talk about pleasant and fast service!! can’t recommend this crew any higher. They only allow me to give five stars. Noah was the technician.He called 20 minutes before he was to arrive to let me know he was coming, he arrived several minutes before he was due, and was polite, efficient, and informative.What a joy to have someone like that helping you take care of your home! I would recommend the service extremely highly! And the ladies on the phone at the main office are so cheerful and helpful!

We were recommended to Dog House after our previous plumber was unable to complete a job already started (sump pump replacement and pipe re-routing). Not only was Travis able to get in within a week of the call, but completed the work ahead of schedule, and even made adjustments and design recommendations that improved the overall setup and performance of the system. I particularly appreciated the packages offered, which presented price tiers to choose from—from bare-bones "band-aid" solutions to fully deluxe, top-of-the-line products and scope of work. We'll be going to Dog House for all of our energy service needs from here on out.

I would recommend this company for large jobs I guess. I’ve been using doghouse energy for my business and home for years but...today I was shocked at the charge. I didn’t have time to do the job and willing to have doghouse handle it. All they had to do was replace a faulty spray gun in the dish room at the restaurant which I did the last one 5 years ago myself. 20 min max. Today my bill was $415 which is the first time I was shocked at the price of this company. $250 an hour per tech wether there their at the job for 5 min at an hour. He spent more time writing out the bill than he did doing the job. So I say wait for a job that is too big for you to handle. Or call someone else that’s a fly by night company that you know how the work is done so they can’t rip you off. There are a hand full of techs for this company. 3 that I have at my place when needed. There all very good at what they do.

My heating system went down during a cold snap at the very end of November. Dog House was booked into January but they offered me an evening appointment for that night. The technician was able to identify the part needed and Dog House searched until they found it. It is a 10-year-old system and the part was not readily available, but they got it shipped overnight and by the following evening they installed it and I had heat. The technician stayed around for half an hour to make sure there were no issues or blocks in the pipes. The dispatcher kept me posted at all stages. I would definitely recommend them and feel good knowing I can call again if needed.

I’ve used Dog House Energy Services for years. I’ve had them install central air conditioning in my home, and perform maintenance on my forced hot air heating system. They're always professional, courteous, and willing to answer any and all questions I have as a homeowner. First let me say that their technicians have been very professional and knowledgeable about their work, and I have nothing but praise for them. The installation of the unit was top notch, and I’d say they did an excellent job. But when it comes to the product that was installed, I would definitely say that we have a defective unit. On Monday, January 31st I had to make an after hours call to have a technician come out to look at the furnace because it was making a buzzing sound and wouldn’t start. The technician arrived around 8pm, and thought that the issue was with the burner motor and replaced it. He also stated that he thought there was an issue with our K1 fuel being too cold. On Tuesday, February 1st the buzzing started again, and the furnace wouldn’t start. I realized that the buzzing was coming from the box in front of the blower. I called the answering service at 5pm and received a call back from the office at 5:10pm. They stated they would have the tech call me. At 10:10pm I got a call from John, I explained the situation and he said he thought it was a transformer and would order one the next day. On Saturday February 5th I ran some errands and came back to the furnace buzzing and not working. I called the answering service at 5:30pm, the person at the office called me back and said that they think there is an issue with our fuel. I told her that I didn’t think there was an issue with the fuel because we had the original furnace for the 6 years we have lived here and never had an issue. The tech that was on call got here at 6:30 pm and determined that the issue was with a relay, and it was definitely not a fuel issue. The part would have to be ordered because it was something not normally kept on hand. I got a call on Monday February 14th that the part was in stock and I was scheduled to have it installed on Tuesday February 15th. The tech came Tuesday afternoon and replaced the faulty relay. All was working well until Wednesday evening when I had the thermostat set at 70 but noticed that it was getting chilly. I checked the thermostat, and the room temperature was 65 degrees. I checked the registers, and they were blowing cold air. I called the answering service Wednesday February 16th and was told that the tech on call was not available and that they would send someone over Thursday afternoon to check the furnace. Meanwhile I had no heat and had no choice but to go out and purchase several space heaters to heat my home. On Thursday afternoon February 17, the tech on call came and diagnosed the furnace, concluding that the fan switch relay is sticking, and that the part is not in stock and will need to be ordered. In the meantime, I must hope that the furnace will work, if not then I have to resort to using the space heaters. I feel that these issues should not be happening with a unit that has been in service only 10 months. I know that the parts are covered under warranty, but I feel that having to pay for emergency calls when the furnace is still new is ridiculous, not to mention the expense of having to buy (and the cost of the electricity to run) several space heaters is absurd. How many service calls need to be made, and how many parts need to be replaced before the furnace is determined to be defective?

This was the second time Travis provided plumbing service for us. The first time he successfully replaced a twenty year old dishwasher. This time was more challenging. We had purchased a larger “chef style” sink and faucet that needed to be retrofitted into the existing countertop. Travis took his time measuring and preparing the area so it would be a perfect fit. Have used these guys twice now and highly recommend them. Furnace went down in April due to a clogged pressure sensor pipe and they came out that day and fixed the problem. Getting a qualified plumber on a days notice is praise worthy in itself. Had a new chimney liner put in December and I believe it lead to my burner getting clogged. Mid January I called, told them my situation, and they got a technician out in hours. Thoroughly cleaned furnace and replaced needed parts and got her running like a top. I had been using other companies for yearly maintenance, but I'm sold on these guys. Great Customer service and fair prices. Well done!
