I had a late night overflowed boiler. I immediately called Woolley’s emergency after hours service. The service tech, Joe F., was a seasoned pro who showed up within 25 minutes and saved the day. He did all the necessary repair work while patiently explaining what went wrong. Joe ended the service call with plenty of maintenance advice. If you’re I need of service from Woolley try to ask for Joe F. He’s a real professional who cares about his work and the people he helps.

This review is long overdue. Our family moved into an 80+yr old home in NJ 2 years ago and we have worked with the Wooley team on numerous projects during that time. It all started with a visit from Art to do some maintenance on our original HVAC (which was aging and a bit neglected by the previous owners). Art got our system working again but it was clear that due to age and neglect that we would be facing repetitive repairs or in need of a new system in the coming year. I met with Kevin (Wooley's Svc manager) and he performed a manual J on our home and provided us with a few different options at various price points which would make our home more comfortable, reliable, and energy efficient. Kevin even made some excellent recommendations pre-covid to improve the air quality in our home and help with our family's allergies and asthma through the use of a Reme Halo and Aprilaire Merv 416 filter (which have have made a noticeable difference). As first time home owners my wife and I met with a few other reputable installers in our area but ultimately it was our family's experience with Kevin and Art and their thorough explanations of the issues that we were facing that made us most comfortable choosing Wooley for the installation and maintenance of an entire new HVAC system in our home. After our installation we chose Wooley for several other jobs, including 2 new battery back up sump pump systems, a new hot water heater, a whole house water filtration system and numerous duct repairs and general plumbing issues. Over the last 2 years we have worked with Art, Ed, Kevin, Joe, Nick and several other members of the Wooley team and on all occasions it has been a great experience (even if our 80 year old home has often thrown us/them curveballs and added challenges to the projects along the way). The Wooley team has always pulled together and figured out a way to get the jobs done right and they have always been fair, transparent, and honest in all of our dealings. Our most recent experience is a testament to Wooley's commitment to their customers. About 3 weeks ago (Mid July) our 18 month old AC condenser stopped working. Art worked through a blistering hot day to diagnose the problem (a failed compressor). Once it became clear that due to supply chain challenges, the part would be unavailable for several weeks, Kevin was quick to send over 2 portable air conditioners to help our family to deal with the heat as we waited. Kevin was transparent and diligent about keeping me posted as to when the replacement part might arrive. As soon as we had a window of a few days when the part would arrive (which coincided with a 3 day heat wave of 97-99 degrees), Ed, Joe, and Nick were at our home working to prepare everything ahead of time for the arrival and installation of this part. All of this was being done as the weather remained in the high 90 degree area. The team got the part in and was quick to help us get our home cool again. I wish I could provide more than 5 stars, the Wooley team is truly dedicated to their customers and our most recent experience has solidified our already high opinion of them.

I've used Woolley for plumbing repairs before, and this year Art D was the tech who came to perform our annual gas boiler inspection and he did a fantastic job. He explained the process throughout and the reasoning for each of his steps, cleaned the site afterward and left it looking better than it did when he arrived. He was courteous, professional and friendly and adhered to all of the COVID-19 safety protocols like social distancing and wearing a mask. Our boiler wasn't turning on and I was 99% sure it was an electrical issue. A few companies came and couldn't diagnose the exact problem... some even tried saying that we'd need to completely rewire our boiler to our circuit breaker box. We were getting quotes as high as $800. Ed P. from Woolley came and was able to figure out the issue and have it fixed within 30 minutes. He was also extremely nice! Never stop sending Craig M. to us. While I'm sure you have other very competent service people, it was a pleasure dealing with Craig. For one thing, I didn't get scolded for not refreshing the water enough, but he did show me signs of future trouble to keep in mind and gave me some simplified maintenance tips. My boiler had a problem that needed repair. He didn't over-explain the problem, but did demonstrate it to me in a way that I knew he was telling the truth and that it had to be fixed. From there, he did the repair work quickly and efficiently, moved on to the maintenance work in the same way, and all the time very pleasant and professional to deal with. I was anxious, at first, having an oil heater in the house, but Woolly Home delivers consistent and complete service. It's clear my house is not just a piggy bank to them, where they drop in oil and extract my money. They make it their business to ensure that the system is always, and above all, safe and well maintained. They have taken all the worry out of it for me.

Drained the water out of the boiler to remove the residue. Check the efficiency of the boiler. Replaced the oil filter and burner nozzle. He took the time to explain how the entire system worked and walked me through how to run and maintain everything from the boiler to the radiator valves. We have had Woolley for our home for over 32 years. Last year we had Woolley convert us from oil to gas. We scheduled our annual cleaning /pre season check for today. Craig called before he came, which was great, that way I knew who was coming and that he was on his way. He let me know that his work would take about a half hour and it did. When he was done he left the furnace area clean and turned off the lights. Woolley just completed a complete HVAC renovation in our home and we couldn't be more pleased (and comfortable). Our old single zone system was very inefficient and uncomfortable. Because of our duct doing a traditional zoned system wasn't an option. Kevin worked with so many people I lost track to find the perfect solution (Arzel Zoning) with zoned controls that will make the winter/summer months much more comfortable and save money over time. Joe and Ed did some amazing work with the installation of the equipment, new basement duct and Arzel damper installation. We ran into some problems with some areas not getting proper air flow and they made multiple adjustments until they had it working to our satisfaction. Huge thank you to everyone at Woolley for helping make the project a success! UPDATE (4/2/2018) We were having some problems with our furnace and zoning unit. I called Woolley and Ed P arrived on time that same day. He kept me updated on his progress and was able to get things working like new again. I signed up for the Gold Level service plan at the beginning of the season and then scheduled the complimentary tune up. When the technician arrived he found two issues on my oil steam boiler. First the low water cutoff switch wasn't working because the float was stuck and second the water drain at the bottom of the boiler was stuck closed. The technician Craig, called me and asked to come early since his first appointment cancelled. He showed me the problems and explained that the boiler could be damaged if boiler went on with no water. He replaced the water drain valve and the float assembly and then tested everything. As part of the original "tune up" he also pointed out some areas on the boiler that were starting to go as well as replacing the glass and filter. All in all he did a good job on a very old piece of equipment. Craig also let me know not to expect too much more life from the boiler. Was my first experience with Woolley but overall very positive.

Art is wonderful (as usual) as he is typically the tech they send. Today was not so good news but there is apparently a right way to break it. My system is completely shot. He fixed it as best as he can. The point I am making is he leveled with me. It takes a qualified tech and a decent human being to just flat out say "I did my best to get you running but this is what is going to fix it...". Woolley could just as easily have strung me along at a thousand dollars a visit and made out on the deal but they did the right thing for us. It's not always a good outcome, but at least when it's the worst case scenario they look to truly help rather than rip off their long time customers.

Eddie was thorough, although I have to be on side watching was going on or why the boiler does what it did, blowing out the exhaust pipe and pipes are not heating up, whether the incoming or outgoing from/to the system. He answered all the questions asked. He was able to solve whatever the problem was with the boiler not able to heat up the water in the tank. Just hope this new replaced plate exchange will continue to do the job. He made sure that all the other parts including the water pumps are all working. I guess next time for the boiler maintenance, Eddie should come for the service. Just that next time whenever he comes just give me a buzz, so you don't have to wait by the door. He came in first thing in the morning and was here for about 2 or so hours. 5-18-16

THe service representative (David B) was : a) extremely courteous b) very knowledgeable c) by helpful in troubleshooting the problem, and resolving the problem. d) understanding of our concern and made us feel that the situation has been handled ! SOme items that concern me and I feel need resolving are : 1) We have been a WOoley customer fro over 20 years and this charge of $133.00 (as a Gold Plan member), does not sit well with me. THe filter was clogged causing insufficient oil to get through. 2) There was approx. 60% of oil in the tank, so I do not understand the "clog" 3) If for some reason we have to consider a removal of our tank and change to an in cellar smaller tank, then we will also consider bringing in competitive oil suppliers, and consider Gas conversion ! 4) I understand there is a Senior discount on oil, but does this apply on Service ? 5) Does WOoley offer a Veterans discount ? I would appreciate your review on the above, and your reply, as we are currently not happy with WOoley. Ed, Dave and Mike were very professional and knowledgeable. They replaced my hot water heater in no time. They got there earlier than expected and took care of evertyhing quickly and efficiently.
