Joe, and his team, Mike, Kevin, and Trevor were friendly, respectful, and professional. Also, they did what I asked and Joe even gave me advice about replacing a kitchen window light. They installed my range hood, and ventilation system where I didn't have one. They installed high hat lighting in my kitchen and dining room, and a ceiling fan in my dining room. I will always ask for Joe whenever I call Universe for any electrical work. I felt very comfortable leaving them to do their work without having to watch them, allowing me to do my work as well as run errands. Simply put, Phenomenal. And another thing, whenever I called in, Peggy treated me with the utmost care, respect, friendliness, and professionalism. So I conclude with thanking Universe for making my electrical experience worth it.

I normally don't write reviews, but i had to leave one for this company. I did an oil to gas conversion and couldn't have been happier with using Universe. Although this company was not the cheapest quote I received, their price was competitive, and as the old saying goes... you get what you pay for. For a daunting task like this in the middle of winter, Universe did not disappoint and was worth every penny. Believe me when i say that this company is a well greased machine! They handled everything from removing the old equipment, removing the oil tank, and installing the new equipment. They were spot on with the communication and everything went seamlessly smooth. They kept me in the loop of what to expect and coordinated with the Town for permits , the chimney liner folks for a certificate, the demolition company for a certificate, and the gas company for the permit and installation. They're work was top notch and they cleaned up after themselves. The installation folks were superb (Gamble and his crew). They listened to all my concerns and addressed them quickly. I have to give a big shout out to my Sales person Frank B. He was always available to respond and is honest and very sincere. He really cares about his clients and his work. I even spoke to him on the weekend and he even returned my call when he was on vacation. I'm glad to have crossed paths with him and look forward to using him again in the future.

This service was originally scheduled for 9/15, but Nick called first thing in the morning and said he could make it today if that was convenient for me. It was, and he showed up a few minutes later. He thoroughly examined and treated both the water heater and the boiler, and explained what he was doing. He also mentioned what I should do in the future, which I appreciated. He was very pleasant and agreeable. I couldn't ask for more from a service tech. He gets 5 stars out of five. Great job! Fred Burns

I contacted Universe Home Services for much needed electrical work. I made an appointment. The electrician, David B came and did a thorough inspection and evaluation of the work which was long time needed to be done. His professionalism is PLUS. First, I must say he was very professional, polite, attentive to my concerns when I ask questions. David B, Kevin and Trevor arrived the next week to do the job. They were on time, very polite and ready to do the job. He took time to listen and check out any concerns I had regarding the electrical work. David B didn’t show anytime during the two (2) days of work that he was in a hurry. He always asked did I have any questions and made sure I understood. That was another PLUS to me, because I have experience with other companies…they seem to be in an hurry and really not listening to the customer full concerns. David and his crew were exceptional! I called around first and Universe quoted me the same price as everyone else. Since I have used them in the past, I called and booked with Universe. Technician Jeff called before arriving and arrived on time. He was great with our dog (dog was afraid of the machine) and was super clean and efficient. Job well done! Thank you - very pleased. Entire job took about 2.5 hours - I had 7 vents to be cleaned.

I do not usually write reviews but felt it was necessary to do so for the emergency plumbing services done at my home by Universe Home services. When I initially called, I spoke with Michelle who was very kind and helpful and went out of her way to accommodate me. Within 30 minutes, Tommy (aka T17) was at my home and because of his prompt response and superior skills set, what would have quickly escalated into a devastating situation was resolved as best as was possible. Tommy assisted me with referrals for clean up and remediation and did not leave until the issue was completely resolved which required him to be at my home for nearly 3 hours! We are very grateful for the professionalism and compassion and will be contacting Universe for all of our plumbing needs moving forward.

The 1st repair person was trying to get me hot water back and couldn’t do I because the part needed to be replaced and was able to contact the office. Not only did she install the whole house water filter that she was there to do, but she made time to fix a faucet that hasn’t been working for like 3 years and replaced a hose bib that never worked. Universe installed a new gas heating system for me in 2021 and everything was great until I noticed water dripping today. I called their service department and the response was fantastic. I had two different people from the company at my house within hours. One, a plumber named Anthony, was extremely talented and also very polite and professional. The problem is all fixed now, the same day that I called, and there was no charge for the service under my warranty.

I have been a homeowner for more than 40 years and have dealt with dozens of contractors. In June we signed a contract with Universe Home Services to convert heat and hot water from oil to gas and add a gas stove. Following the removal of our existing system on Monday December 5, 2022 Universe’s installation team of 4 spent the next 10 hours putting in our new heating system. The project required that amount of time based on 5 heating zones and test and inspection with both the Town of Oyster Bay and Keyspan. This team was one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. Their work was top quality. They kept us informed throughout and were always positive and professional. They handled all the details and everything was completely cleaned up. At the end of a long day, they took the time to go over what we needed to know about the new system. I am looking forward to working with them on the maintenance of the system. If Monday is an indication of how Universe works, then this is going to be an awesome working relationship.

I used Universal to change all my copper lines to PEX and to change drain locations and change the main stack route. 3 different plumbers told me it wasn’t possible. I had an excellent time with the young gentleman I believe named Ian (perhaps Vincent from what the email says) and Frank. Both gentleman came to my home and repaired a leak that was causing less cold air to work through the units and also refilled the Preon. They also made great suggestions and gave me excellent advice on a certain issue that I was facing with a head unit in one of my bedroom's. Overall I loved the courtesy and kindness and attentiveness for the work. They resolved a pretty big job that took perhaps 4 to 5 hours and were very discreet and non intrusive at all. Very professional, reliable, and most importantly, knowledgeable. and have integrity, standing by their service and products. I like that when I asked a few questions about the problem, I was answered with appropriate explanations. When something wasn't working correctly with a newly installed part, repairman Mike came back (even a day BEFORE scheduled) to swap out the dysfunctional part of the icemaker. Billy in Service Dept. was also very helpful in assisting. I'm glad I called Universe and would highly recommend their service rather than using an unknown repair man. They provide what a customer expects from "service".

Mike was helpful. Unfortunately the issue with my ice maker on the refrigerator is intermittent and he could not definitively diagnose it. He surmised it could be a part that was repaired several years ago and cost close to $400 to repair. He also stated the refrigerator was 9 years old. We paid for the visit and hope the issue doesn’t reoccur as he did not have the part on hand and we are not sure we want to spend $400 for something that could not be 100% diagnosed as the problem.

We had issues with our gas boiler shutting down and locked out. They had sent out a technician, “ANTHONY”, who specializes in our specific unit. He was on time, courteous and knowledgeable in servicing the unit accordingly. So far so good!!! We now have heat running the way that it should thanks to Anthony. He is an asset to the company and we will request his services again when needed! *Just an fyi, we had others look at this unit and they couldn’t figure out why the constant lock out. Instead, most recommended to replace the entire unit because they were perplexed- :(

I was contacted, almost immediately, by Universal Home Services regarding an estimate for some electrical work. The staff that I interacted in were pleasant & professional, so I have nothing bad to say about them. Unfortunately, their pricing was way beyond any other estimate we'd received, almost 3x as much as the another contractor. I found their estimate to be overpriced & unreasonable and we didn't choose them for this project. We'll keep them in mind for other estimates, but if they're quotes aren't feasible or reasonable - we'll say so.

From the initial call to schedule service and the actual diagnosis and repairs was highly exceptional in all aspects of service. I was having a issue with a year old high efficiency gas unit and temperature controls. Within a half hour the service tech figured out the thermostat was wired wrong and also was able to get the toe kick heaters working. He stayed and even explained how to program thermostat and went over the gas system. Universe has gained a customer for life. Every single business out there should have this crew train them on what service is actually about.

I called Universe at 800 am to repair a bad sump pump for my basement bathroom. By 1100 am, the technician arrive and by 230 pm the pump was replaced and working great. The technician was excellent and very clean and meticulous. Great work!!!!

Before I got a new heating system they had to send a man over to drain some excess water out to get my heat to go back on. It happened often. They always sent someone over the same day so we would have heat. Since I got the new system in 2013 everything has been good, The only problem since 2013 was one of my thermostats was broken. They came over the same day and fixed the problem. I have an annual contract with them for 25 years now. They obviously been in business for a long time. I haven’t needed them much although I never had any other company to compare them to. They are reliable and I don’t think they raised my annual fee.

Had a sudden electrical issue and they responded /arrived on site within an hour, diagnosed the issue, performed a quick temporary fix to give me electricity back in the zones that were out, and are returning to do full electrical upgrade within the week. Service was very timely, extremely efficient, and the serviceman was extremely diligent in his efforts and explaining everything to me - someone who does not have an extremely strong understanding of electrical systems. Not only was he professional but his congruent care that Addison gave Mr. Smith was nothing short of amazing; he treated Mr. Smith as if he were family. Had a leaking kitchen faucet supply hose. Nick came out, diagnosed the issue and gave me a choice of buying my own faucet or have them supply for $550 + 330 labor. I opted to find my own fixture and asked if they could come the next day (Saturday) to install the faucet. Nick called on the spot and setup an appointment. When I called Saturday morning to see when a plumber was scheduled to come, I was told no appointment was setup and would have to wait until Monday to setup a new appointment. Not Nick's fault, he was great. Somebody dropped the ball in Seaford and never entered the appointment on the computer. I ended up doing it myself since I couldn't wait.

Universe replaced my central air conditioner and boiler. The service from my sales rep Bob to the team of installers who came to replace both units were professional and courteous. The new boiler is working well and I am waiting until this summer to see how the new central air conditioner works. Overall, I am very pleased and would highly recommend Universe.

We did an oil to gas conversion with them bringing in the gas line, abandoning the underground oil tank, the permits and getting national grid on board and sorted out. Here's where they may shine... National grid came and dug the line and hit the oil lines. We had no heat. Universe hired a company to repair the line out of their pocket even though they didn't break the line. The machines work fine but maybe that's not the point... they acted fast when a major problem arose.

Didn't interact with neither Sean or Dani although they were pleasant in demeanor. Of the 4 techs present, the lead tech was Campbell. Had a few hiccups, the first being that the techs determined the unit to be installed was not a good fit. Had to revert to another unit that had been quoted. The issue came in when the office did'nt give the techs a complete scope of work. Halfway through I asked about the chimney liner and a new duct that was to be installed in a bedroom. The tech had no knowledge of it, so I had to wait for him to call the office and confirm. I was advised that due to it not being written up in their work order, someone else will have to return to complete the work. Campbell was pleasant and professional. A new thermostat was installed, however the buttons are broken. The tech who installed it clearly did not check it to make sure it worked properly. So now I have to call in for service. Unable to upload a video to show buttons dont work.

Soooo, Jim came over to check my boiler and to do maintenance on it, which was on sale til the end of this month for 99.99... He was very courteous and knowledgeable about the brand I was using... everything was cool until he told me the price to change a water valve, put it like this, I rather continue looking for the price he gave... although I had the money to spend, I think that was too much of a price and will turn to someone else at this time... someone else came and charged well over 50% off of his asking price to do something so simple in my opinion. Nevertheless, choose wisely and don't be afraid to pay the 99 bucks initially for the knowledge Jim gave, just so someone else knows exactly what they're coming for to do the job, and just to get a second opinion to fix what you feel is a better price for you... There is always someone out there who takes pride at what they do for the fraction of the cost... remember that! I took another star away fro jim, cause with the 20 years of experience he has with this company, he still can't look someone in their eyes while shaking there hand, which is crazy cause I had a ten dollar tip to give him if he'd only show some man to man etiquette before he left my home....

Our main problem was the repair of a Reverse Osmosis system that hadn't been used in 5 years. It turned out to be very involved and complicated, but the repairman Steve returned several times to do the next necessary step until it was fully repaired and working well. In the meantime, Steve threw in adding a filter line to my refrigerator, a job that took all of 10 minutes, that another company was ready to charge $300 to do. They set up an appointment but because of the holiday weekend I had to wait which I understand. My technician showed up within the timeframe that I was told. His name was Tom. Polite professional courteous even loved on my dog ( and friendly to my mother in-law) He knew exactly what the issue was and he had the parts in the truck already. I think he was in and out in just over an hour. I wasn’t crazy about the price because it was an old unit but repairing it was cheaper than buying a new one. Needed a 28 year old Carrier system blowing hot air only (condenser compressor blew out) replaced in the middle of the recent heat wave. Called several companies but all said 3-4 weeks for an estimate and then another 3-4 weeks for install. Universe came within 1 day for estimate and installed the system 2 weeks later. Crew did a nice clean job and Ruud system seems to be running real well. Crew was efficient, polite and on time. 5 year parts and labor warranty provides some peace of mind and Universe registered our system with Ruud for the manufacturer parts 10 year warranty as well. Seems like a very well run operation.

One was there to help remove the old boiler and get the other one in, and then he had to move to another job. Even in his short time there, he was courteous, and hard working. The three gentlemen that were there for the whole install were absolutely excellent in ever way! After they were done, the main technician explained simple maintenance things for me to keep up with, to ensure the longest life-span for our new boiler. A big selling point of the new boiler is an included service contract. But I already had a service contract (400 bucks a year!) so you'd think they'd credit what I already spent on the contract towards something else but no! Apparently 4 of 12 months left on my contract means they just take my money and leave me hanging. It's really disappointing to see Universe would take a happy 20 year long customer and turn the experience so negative over a few bucks.

The entire scope of the job was to remove the old furnace and hot water heater, remove the oil tank, install new furnace and water heater, install coil and condenser for central air, and install a chimney liner. Melanie arrived to look at a gas leak from an old valve. National Grid has locked the valve for safety unless it's repaired. After her inspection, she suggest that with pipes being so old, that it should be replace. Gas is not something to mess with. She arrive the next day on a Saturday with Nick and began the job. They walk thru the whole entire process before they began and had the job complete within half a day. They cleaned up the entire basement and also replaced a hose from the boiler. Ran all the test necessary. They were extremely professional. Highly recommend Universe for the next job and maintenance.

Within the last few months Universe has replaced my hot water heater (under warrantee) and repaired heating pipes, as well as replacing the pipe under my sink. They were on-time, courteous, professional, and clean. They were able to fit me in on the day that I called, which was greatly appreciated. Most importantly, it was fixed right the first time. I have had a few issues in the past when I had to call them back, but lately this has improved. They were unable to fix my stove because they couldn't get parts, but they called to explain that they didn't want to charge me for a visit if they couldn't fix it. They directed me to the manufacturer for that. I am glad to have them on contact, so when I need a repair person, I know who to call. They also give the least expensive, moderate, and most complete options for repairs.

I recommend these guys to everybody. We have never had one follow up issue with any of their work. DB was fantastic and went above and beyond what you usually get from in home service today. Completely recommend both Universe and DB. Follow up with later service. Joe H came to work on our plumbing and just like the others before, he was very friendly, professional and gave great service. Follow up with later service. Joe 2 and Michael Q. Needed to have my electrical connection for a new dryer upgraded. Discovered that the old wiring was in a dangerous situation. Joe 2 did the upgrade and made a recommendation on how I can find if there's more areas of danger plus be protected for a full year. No pressure or hard sales pitch, just a simple stating if facts and what he felt the benefits were. He also showed me physical evidence of what was taking place. I feel very confident with the work that he did that we are safe and booked for future work to make sure that there is no future danger. . When it comes to electric, you never want to take a chance. I knew we had original wiring in the basement, but did not know with wiring that old that it's coverings could degrade to such a point because wiring was done differently then. Very grateful he pointed it out to me and showed me what could happen. Would recommend Joe to for any electric issues! Service call for a dishwasher issue. Jimmy 2 came. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.. Was able to repair the problem quickly. As always, excellent service from Universe and I would also recommend Jimmy 2 for any of your service needs.

I have been calling Universe for all electrical and plumbing works of our house since 2015. I bought my heater boiler, water heater, central AC from Universe. I also pay an annual service fee for heating boiler. Let me start with my positive feedback first, UNIVERSE sales representatives are very successful and they make you happy and convinced, they tell you every detail, they give you time to think before you buy, they help you make the best decision and you trust them. The proof of this is seen in the fact that I buy all the needs of our house from UNIVERSE. Unfortunately I cannot say the same good things about your service department. Although I always pay the annual service fee on time, my heater was not serviced on time. I was asked for a repair fee, perhaps due to malfunctions caused by not doing the annual maintenance on time. And I don't know why I paid the annual service fee (almost $400). Hearing "Oh, this repair is not covered by the service contract" shake my trust in UNIVERSE. Overall, UNIVERSE is a company that I love, trust, and recommend to all my friends. I am also a loyal customer of UNIVERSE. It's a rarity and a pleasure to do business with people who are not only excellent at what they do but also genuinely easy to work with. From my very first phone call to Universe (on the recommendation of several people) to the completion of my attic fan repair, I kept waiting for something to go wrong - the price suddenly goes up, the replacement part is damaged or doesn't fit, the installer breaks something else while working in my attic - but NOTHING happened! Universe quoted me a price that was much lower than the two other estimates I received, gave me a date to perform the service, showed up right on time, and got the job done in exactly the amount of time they had promised. To be realistic, this is an attic fan and I don't know if it's working, or not. In fact, I didn't even know I HAD an attic fan until an animal ripped the cover off the old one and it started leaking into my attic. If I ever hear it actually turn on, I'll let you know; however, given this company's excellent reputation and the way they handled this service, I have no question in my mind that they did the job right and gave me a fan that will serve us well for many years. It is SO HARD to find a company like this these days. Until I came across Universe, I had resigned myself to settling for much less. Now the bar is set high again and I will measure any home improvement/repair company that does work in my house against the job that Universe did for us. The hot water on demand was leaking water. Called Universe at 3:30pm and by 5:00 pm there was a repair man at my door. He came in, I explained what was going on and he got to it. With in an hour he fixed the issue. He explained what was going on and what I should do in the future to prevent it. I gotta say I have not been disappointed by there service. Thank god I’ve only called them a few times since we switch our system. So glad I have a contract with them!!

My furnace and water heater are covered by the Universe service contract. Yesterday the technician arrived within the scheduled time frame and introduced himself and appeared friendly and professional. He provided the preventive maintenance service as well as ordering a part for the water heater which he determined was defective. I feel he was very thorough and meticulous in his work and explained things to me which is something I always appreciate.

If you are considering installing ductless AC this is definitely the company to use. Everything about my experience with Universe was excellent. I was concerned with the look of the tubes and covers on the outside of my house I am especially pleased with the design and placement of the tubes and covers. Hands down they did a first rate job.
