We purchased a new air conditioning unit from Metro heating and cooling and I was beyond thrilled with their service! Everything was absolutely perfect! Rick and Josh were on time, friendly, knew exactly what they were doing, worked well together, answered all of my questions, told me about things I didn’t even know to ask about and they cleaned up inside and outside before they left. Seriously, how much more could you want? I would not hesitate to recommend Metro to anyone!

I would not hesitate to use this company again. Our tech Philip was awesome. He arrived on time, walked me through the process of the new water heater installation. After the install, he cleaned up after himself and he gave me tips on how to maintain it. What a great guy. I would definitely recommend Metro H/C. Thank you Philip and thank you Metro H/C. We needed to get a new boiler and had multiple places come out to do a bid. Not only was Metro the best value, but they were so easy to work with. Andrew S and Josh A were our two technicians, and they did a fantastic job. Then, once they finished, Andrew didn't laugh at us (at least not to our faces) when we had him give us a step by step guide on how to do everything with our new boiler. (We took copious notes and, again, he didn't laugh.) Our new boiler takes up SO much less space, is energy efficient, and we're so pleased with our experience with Metro Heating and Cooling.

Jalen came to do furnace tune-up today. He is very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. For example, he used shoe covers when he came in and kept our place clean. Andrew S and Ryan G replaced a boiler for my radiant heated 3 zone system and retrofitted 2 wall mounted radiators in place of baseboard units which were inadequate in heating master bedroom. They were on time, careful of just completed painting job when installing new radiators and did a clean and tidy install from start to finish. Fired up system, bled air from system and made sure all controls worked properly. Would definitely recommend Metro and shout out to estimator Roy as well for taking the initiative to calculate btu's needed to both size the new boiler and radiators. Finally system works correctly. Numerous other contractors have failed to diagnose/fix my heating problems over 30 years. All they are interested in doing is selling equipment or replacing parts with little understanding of how radiant systems should work. Metro did the job right the first time. Thank you to Roy, Andrew and even Ryan!

We had gotten a quote from Metro in early 2020 for AC installation and weren’t able to do it at the time due to COVID restrictions. Recently, we reached out again. Getting a second quote was easy as anything and I called to book and was able to get installation the next day. Already we are loving our central air and the team was excellent — responsive, quick, professional. I would recommend Metro to anyone. They also did our furnace.

They removed old dryer venting and put in new (and up to code) and then vented to the outside. When the gentleman were leaving I looked out my kitchen window and they even swept the driveway! Jaylen was fabulous. He arrived at my home exactly as promised, was very respectful of my home and knew exactly what to do. He installed my new thermostat, showed me exactly how to use it. He even had me download the app for the thermostat to my iPhone and then walked me through how to use the features. He even was kind enough to pay attention to my boxer! My experience with Metro has been wonderful from starting with Dave who came out, told me exactly what I needed, but never pressured me into anything. Jessie who came out to verify what exactly was needed was so kind and explained to me everything he did. The two gentlemen that installed the new furnace we great. Then Jaylen tied everything up perfectly . So professional and kind. He made sure I knew exactly how to manage my new system. Having had my furnace go out the day prior to loosing my husband on December 23rd, this was an extremely stressful time. They certainly made things easier for me. Had a great experience with Metro! The original contact, Mike, came out in 3 days. Attempted to fix my AC and hung around for awhile to make sure the fix worked. So glad he stayed. The system quit after a few minutes. Ordered a new system and Mike J and Josh B installed it. On time as scheduled, professional and friendly at the same time. My water heater tank went out right before Christmas. Called a couple of places and decided to go with Metro heating & Cooling. Phillip arrived and had the old one out and new one installed in no time. He updated the old valves to code, walked me through what all the valves were for and how to re-pilot the tank if needed. I had so many questions and he was so patient and listened to all of my concerns. Having no hot water in the dead of Winter was a completely humbling experience. We discovered a gas leak at 4:30pm today (Friday!) and needed to get it fixed quickly in order to restore heat to our home ahead of a very cold weekend. Metro responded immediately and sent Al over right away to help us sort this out. Al was professional and kind and took care of the problem quickly. I am so thrilled with Metro Plumbing & Heating/Cooling. I chose a local company instead of one of the nasty big corporations and couldn’t be happier. Nick and Jesse and their entire staff have been SO HELPFUL and on top of a huuuuge plumbing emergency in my life. When you call in they already have your phone in the system/know exactly who you are. They can work with you on financing. And…. Jesse/Metro SAVED MY HOME!!!!! The insurance company wasn’t going to pay for anything, and I was at risk of losing it all. Jesse explained in depth and in person detail to my adjuster what was happening with my ancient pipes - and got them to pay for it all!!!! I am so in dept to them and so in love with them!!!! My furnace went out this past weekend and it was chilly to say the least. I called to set up an appointment for Monday and they were quick in getting back to me. Jalen was my tech and he was courteous and professional, took the time to explain the issue and the solution. He also gave me spring/ fall and monthly maintenance tips and recommended the comfort club membership for future proactive maintenance ideas. Most importantly he got the problem diagnosed and fixed quickly. Thank you Jalen!

Only a small job. Just had a leaky outside tap. Tech showed up and replaced a washer to stop the leak but still need a new tap that would require cutting up the drywall inside - a $595 estimate. That's all fine, but I found this company via an add in the mail with a $30 off any repair coupon. The terms were to present coupon at the time of service, which I did while the tech was still here, but after he ran my card. He said I would have to call the office to get the credit. After 2 calls, the manager finally called back to say he would NOT be giving me a credit because the card company charges them too much. I asked about a check, but he said they don't write checks. When I asked how much they would be charged to credit me the $30, he said $15, so I asked him to split the difference and credit me $15. He promised me he would do it. I suspected that he was blowing me off and would never follow thru. So far it has been over 10 days and NO credit. Needless to say, I will be finding a different plumbing company to replace the tap next spring. Chapter 2: They came through with a $50 credit. Apparently it was an honest oversight which I totally understand. All is forgiven.

I had apt for 8:30 this morning to replace my Furnace and AC unit in my condo. Al and Austin were here on time. Did all work n cleaned up after themselves; very knowledgeable. Showed me how to take my filter out, clean n replace. Also showed where outside needs to be cleaned with vacuum. Says it was plugged, hard to get air in. Gave dimensions of filter and where to order a new one that will be needed to be cut down to fit. Says filter should last about a year with cleaning.

We went with Metro Heating & Cooling for their no nonsense professionalism from the quote and schematic we got from Dave B. (along with a great referral to an electrician) to the creative and knowledgeable install from Josh W. And Josh A. They won’t upsell you and will work with you to accommodate your specific situation. We went with an air handler for the main floor with two mini splits upstairs. We have a complicated head banger of a basement with many pipes and wires with a large beam down the middle constructed in 1922. They were able to intricately fit the ductwork through these many obstacles that not only allowed head room in the basement but made the vents look fantastic in the main floor. The mini splits upstairs were installed quickly and the exterior covers for the refrigerant lines were tucked and blended into our siding once painted. I would recommend them to anyone who asks!

Metro did a great job of providing AC and heat to our 2nd floor where ducting our forced air system was not easily done. The Cooper Hunter mini split with AC for summer and heat exchange for winter was a good, affordable solution. Andrew's crew did a neat installation, followed up by an excellent startup service visit by Jalen after the electrical hookup to verify everything was working correctly and to guide us how to use and maintain our new system. Metro also installed a new gas furnace plus boiler for complementary baseboard heating a couple years earlier. They are our go-to company in Minneapolis for all things HVAC.👍

Jalen helped repair our heating system in our townhouse unit. Our heating system was down for a few days with an internal temperature of 47° and Jalen showed up late on a Friday evening before the Christmas holiday and stayed extra late fixing and repairing all the problems. Jalen even went above and beyond, and showed myself exactly what the problem was, how it could be remedied in the future, and how if we were to lose power again to fix those problems. He was a very respectful and classy gentleman who didn’t have to spend the extra time to show me all the extra things he did but he stayed behind to reassure myself that the heating set up is now going to work. It was a pleasure working with him, as I was losing hope in customer service, but Jalen re-assured to me that there are still good people out there that do well and will go above and beyond to make sure their service is 100% up to standards. From beginning to end of my furnace installation (Goodman) I was very pleased with the entire process. The number of times I called the office every one was very pleasant and answered my questions which satisfied me completely. The installers Al, Ryan and Tyler arrived on time Thursday morning 12/3/20, actually a little earlier then mentioned the day before, which was fine with me. All three guys were very pleasant to deal with from answering my questions about the installation/furnace to just general conversation. I watched the entire installation, not that I was concerned about their work, they were very professional, but intrigued myself of how it would be completed. Al was very attentive in the work Ryan and Tyler were doing, assisted both in their work answering questions. When they were done the area was cleaned up swept, trash removed, etc... The completed project looked better then the old furnace install. Because of how pleased I am with how Metro Heating & Air handled my purchase/installation. I do plan on calling for a new central air to also be installed. The two old units are 27 years old. Thanks Metro for a great experience!!

We had an old supplementary furnace that was no longer in use as well as a heating unit in a wall that we wanted to remove. The nonprofit I lead is located in a house that has been renovated and so has two furnaces. Mike Devaney came out a couple of weeks ago to service both of the furnaces in the house. He is professional, friendly and didn't judge me for not changing the filters often enough! He helped me figure out a way to be more proactive with replacing them. We operate basic needs distributions out of our garage and so have a small electric furnace in there that wasn't part of the annual maintenance visit a couple of weeks ago and stopped working out of the blue yesterday. Mike D was sent again today and fixed it so fast and for a second time, didn't judge me for the state of the filters! It was thankfully an easy fix and he gave the furnace the once over and said it was in good shape. He is easy to work with and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend him and Metro for all HVAC work!

I can't say enough about Metro! There's a good reason they have really great reviews! I recently moved to the North Saint Paul area and back in July of 2020, our A/C wasn't producing cool air. Metro provides a very affordable quote and conducted the work fast, efficient, and honesty! Fast forward to December, our main water line has been leaking and I return to Metro for help. Again, the fact that their on-site individuals are so honest and helpful makes for a homeowner feel at ease. Chris Larson (plumbing division) and the office staff helped bring my water line up to code and stopped the dripping. Again, because of the honest work, I was given an affordable quote. My experience was terrific from first to last. MH&C was referred to me by my handyman (Renaissance Man LLC) and it was definitely a good one. Dave Bomgren looked at my current system and gave me good options for estimates. He was very professional and explained what was needed. We communicated via email, and once I got the estimates I added a couple of components and Dave had new quotes back to me within an hour or two. Once we settled on a package, the scheduler contacted me within minutes!! At my home Rick and Alex were great to work with. Very professional and friendly. Rick looked everything over and explained what they were going to do and how they would be going about it. They took good care to keep the work area clean, and I completely trusted them enough for me to head to work and let them close up the house when they were finished. Mike came by in the promised time frame and was quick to diagnose the problem and perform the fix. He gave a great assessment of the unit and informed us of both his opinion of the unit itself (definitely still functioning and no need for a replacement at this time) and how we can proactively maintain the unit to avoid a call for the same type of work. I should contrast this with a visit from a different contractor who spent over an hour doing various tests and informing me that my furnace was at the end of it's life (despite being ~8-9 years old) and I should consider a replacement. While my view could be affected by confirmation bias, it would seem that general evidence, and now operational proof, supports that the current furnace is working. A true professional, Mike was honest and helpful. I would recommend him and Metro Heating and Cooling again any time and will be calling them first for my next HVAC need.

Excellent company. We used Metro Heating and Cooling to replace an old oil burning furnace and air conditioner with a new, modern gas furnace and air conditioner. We would particularly like to compliment Corey and Aaron, the Metro Heating and Cooling employees, that did the work at our house. These two had to remove an old 1950’s oil burning furnace from our basement. The old furnace was an absolute, total pain to remove. It was heavy and dirty and awkwardly shaped and they had to move it around laundry tubs and up a narrow stairway to get it out of the house and they managed to do it without causing any damage to doors, walls etc. Unless you were there you can hardly imagine how difficult it was. Installing the new equipment was not a straight forward job either. We were having our patio replaced and Metro Heating and Cooling had to come out and remove the outside air conditioner/compressor and then wait for the new patio to be installed so they could put in the new furnace/air conditioner. Another complication was that although we had a gas line coming to our house and gas pipes inside our house, we had never had a gas appliance. This means the gas company had to come out and check their line to the house then a city inspector had to come and inspect the gas lines inside the house then the gas company had to come out again to install a gas meter and then Corey was able to connect the gas line to the furnace. Metro Heating and Cooling handled the coordination between the city inspectors and the gas company and although it didn’t exactly go smoothly Metro took the hit and did all the work so we weren’t bothered or frustrated by it. In conclusion we’d like to thank Metro for being so accommodating to us and working around the other stuff we had going on and especial to Corey and Aaron who worked very hard, were very polite and clearly explained what was going on. They always told us what the next step was and what they were doing to handle it and things turned out well. We’d also like to mention they always showed up the day they said they would, they were on time, and they called to give us a little warning before they showed up. We really appreciated that. We would highly recommend Metro Heating and Cooling for any heating or air conditioning work you need done.

I don't normally leave reviews but with this heat wave at 90-100F everyday for more than a week now, I really want to share my great experience with Dave at Metro and how much I appreciate his recommendations and tips. We planned to zone our HVAC because the upstairs was always 5-10 degree hotter than the main level. Dave came to take a look of our system and told us we can't do zoning due to the master pipe layout. He said it would cost a lot of money and it's not worth it. He then gave me some tips on how we can increase the efficiency of our AC/heat and air circulation. Our house, especially upstairs is now much much more comfortable even during this heat wave. I really appreciate Dave's honesty and professional advice. Even though we didn't have any work done with them but I still highly recommend their business. The existing faucet was not repairable, so he ordered a new faucet for me, and luckily one was found that fit the existing setup. I had 5 different people quote replacing two furnaces and two ac units in my house. This Metro had the best price. They got me in quickly and did a nice job with the install. I am a engineer and I am picky but they put it together nicely. It was a complex job with three thermostats, zone control and a tight space to work in. I also had them install a water softener at the same time, which unfortunately failed after two weeks and caused plumbing issues in my house. I called them on a Sunday and they responded right away and had two plumbers out to repair the issue and check everything else out in the house. Things happen when doing big jobs - its how a company responds to these issues that set them apart. I will definitely use Metro again and have referred them to many others.

Found Metro Heating & Cooling on a Sunday when the A/C stopped working. They came out the next morning and arrived within the stated timeslot. Dave came out to our 1924 four square home to give us a quote for and air conditioning system. I did some research and thought a high velocity system would be the least intrusive. I didn't realize that ductless mini-splits could effectively do the same thing for a more reasonable price. A couple of weeks later Josh, Austin, and Rob arrived to install the system. They were very professional and respectful of our home. We have plaster walls and ceilings and somehow they managed to prevent dust from covering all of our belongings. I was expecting to have to vacuum for a couple of hours at the end of each day. The system was installed in three days and has been worth every penny. It turned out to be cheaper to just replace the faucets rather than try and find the parts and repair the leak, and so we decided to just redo the whole sink area. We had one of our two 15-year old water heaters fail on the morning of Friday the 13th! Within 10 minutes of noticing the problem, I had Micah Vail of Metro on the phone to diagnose the issue. Within another hour, we were on the schedule for same day service. Amazing. Alex and Mike did the installation work and did a very professional job. They treated our house like they would treat their own: not banging into walls, etc. They really took care and left the area clean and orderly. We have an old house, and the space for the heaters was tight, but Mike and Alex worked within the confines of our basement and did a great job. They are also very good communicators. This is the 2nd time we have used Metro in the past year -- once for our boiler, once for the water heater. We are definitely repeat customers, they are just solid.

Had a great experience with Metro from start to finish. My furnace started struggling to push air throughout the house, technician came out and diagnosed it as a faulty blower. He took the time to explain it all to me, and gave me a quote to repair it. He did another quick check to find out that the heat exchange was rusted, indicated a crack that could lead to carbon monoxide leaking. I reached out to Metro again to get a quote on a new furnace and Paul showed up on time, even giving me a courtesy call to let me know he was on his way. He got an estimate for me and explained everything that was going on, giving me a couple of options to fit my budget and my house. I never felt pressured to buy anything I didn't need. I was able to schedule the replacement for the same week, the day after Thanksgiving, and the technicians gave me a courtesy call again letting me know they were on their way. They performed everything thoroughly and quickly, and went through the process of making sure my existing smart thermostat worked with the new furnace (even after the Xcel tech that installed that did a hack job). I will recommend Metro to anyone that asks. From the first call, to the follow up to make sure everything was working as expected went flawlessly. They were reasonably priced, and I would have probably stuck with them if someone undercut them based on the service I got.

There was worry about the pet lizard getting too cold, he was fine. Saving more than we thought on bills. Only knock I would have liked to have the option of a 4in. furnace filter. But I did get a very nice furnace, done fast and right, a great 24/7 warranty so i don't have to worry about it, all at a fair price! Be like me, do your homework, learn all about furnaces, spend days going over reviews, spend weeks dealing with pushy salesmen (or no shows) to get your quotes, the whole time worring about your old furnace, and you'll probably end up going with Metro.

Metro cleared a clogged kitchen drain. Chris showed up on time and immediately got to work on the problem. He explained every step that he was taking and got the clog cleared. Metro Heating & Cooling replaced my central A/C unit this week. I received quotes from several contractors and they were by far the most reasonable in price- they also have great customer service. They were able to accommodate my scheduling needs and of course cleaned up after themselves. I used a different contractor to replace my furnace last year and it has always been quite noisy. Al and Tyler did an ac/furnace installation at my home and were professional, did great work, and kept me informed throughout the process. Thanks guys! Upon arrival they asked where my old ac unit was, as uninstalling it and hauling it away was in their work order. I never had an ac unit, and Al also let me know that the bid had missed the fact that I needed a disconnect box, which would likely cost a few hundred dollars to have an electrician install. I spoke with a rep (Eric, I think?) on the phone and asked if there was anything that could be done to offset the added cost especially since I had paid for some work that was unnecessary (removing the old unit). I was quickly shut down and told “that would have only taken them 30 minutes anyway”. The units work great, Al and Tyler were great, but I did feel a little unvalued as a customer.

My furnace went out on Friday, Saturday morning I called and they had a technician out by 10:00 am that morning. John assessed the situation and gave me my options for fixing the furnace. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions with no hard sales pitch just gave me the options. I have had issues with my 2001 furnace in the past couple of years. Metro Heating and cooling was highly recommended to me by several friends and colleagues. I opted to buy a new furnace. On Monday morning before 7:30 am Grant contacted me to let me know I would have a quote from him by 10:00 and it arrived before then. I contacted Micah to schedule an install and he booked it for the very next morning. He said they would arrive between 8:30 and 9:00. I received a phone call just after 8:00 to say if it was ok they could be there by 8:15. Josh and Riley came in, introduced themselves, were extremely respectful of my home, were friendly, and very easy to speak to. I was comfortable enough to leave them in my home and go to work. When they were finished they gave me a call so I could meet them at my home. Josh went through all of the new features, took the time to explain the thermostat to me. I asked Josh and Riley several questions about my aging hot water heater and air conditioner and they took the time to discuss several options with me for the future. My furnace went out during negative temperatures. Everyone I dealt with from the person who answered my initial Emergency Line call on a Saturday morning, John my emergency technician, Grant, Micah, and my wonderful technicians who did the install... Josh and Riley were fabulous. Josh and Riley actually left my kitchen floor cleaner than how they found it. Thank you! I would highly recommend Metro Heating and Cooling!

I contacted Metro Heating to get a quote for a water heater replacement because they handle Rheem water heaters which are rated highly and, Metro Heating is highly rated. I not only got a reasonable quote but it was timely, thorough and complete. Unlike some other installers quotes which had disclaimers of what is not included and had other adders beyond the basic quote. Metro Heating also did a great job of walking me through the quote and answering all of my questions in a manner that could be easily understood. The two people who came to install the water heater were very professional, wore face masks the entire time, due to Covid, and laid clean drop cloths from my front door all the way down the steps to where the water heater was being installed. I was totally impressed! When completed they did a thorough clean-up of the area and had me walk through to verify that everything was cleaned to my satisfaction. They also added a drain tube that had been overlooked by the company who had done the previous water heater install. I would highly recommend Metro Heating for any plumbing or HVAC work that one may be considering. They are definitely a five star rated company!

Soua with Metro Heating & Cooling came to our house yesterday to install a new thermostat and figure out why our AC was no longer cooling the house. He was patient, kind, attentive, and thorough. In less than two hours, he had installed the new thermostat, fixed our AC issue, cooled the house, installed a furnace compressor (free of charge), explained some fixes that we could do on our own to save money, and showed us how to fix a small update we needed on a completely unrelated matter. He was extremely kind to my wife and our newborn baby. I could not have been more impressed with his service or with the price. It started out rough with our AC unit going out overnight. We called metro heating and cooling at 8am and to our surprise they were at our house by 9am! Technician noticed a blown capacitor and replaced that as well as the start capacitor. Tried to start the AC and still nothing. Technician tested the compressor and thought it was shot. Sadly due to this we setup an install of a new unit, but come to find out our unit was able to be repaired. We're not sure if the technician missed a bad wire or if our relay was half working. So I called metro heating and cooling back left a voicemail to cancel install. The following morning one of the owners paul reached out to me right away. He was very genuine and concerned with what exactly happened. I explained what the other technician noticed and did to fix the issue. After that Paul was nice enough to refund us our service call without even asking. He admitted to their mess up, which everyone is entitled to missing stuff as were all humans. He made sure to correct the mistake and make things right! Because of this I gave them 4 stars and will definitely be giving them another shot if I need help in the future!

After reviewing several companies and their review we decided to hire Metro Heating and Cooling out of Maplewood, MN. Today we had both our furnace and a/c unit inspected. The technician called me from his last appointment and informed me his name is Brian and that he would arrive within the next half-hour. Upon, his arrival he unloaded his necessary tools and knocked on the door. When I answered he greeted me and thank us for calling Metro Heating and Cooling to perform the inspection. This last weekend it started getting cold and the furnace would not fire-up. When I tried to run it I got status code 14 (ignition lockout). I suspected a bad gas valve. I sent out requests for service to 3 Twin City heating/cooling service companies and Paul from Metro Heating & Cooling got back to me 1st (within 6 minutes actually) with some helpful suggestions. I tried shutting down the furnace and starting it back up a couple of times as Paul suggested with no luck. Paul sent his technician, John out and he very quickly confirmed the gas valve was bad and patiently demonstrated this to me. A new valve was sent for ASAP. We verified the furnace was under warranty so no charge for the new part. Amy called back to let me know that she had scheduled John again to install the new valve that same evening. Indeed, the part came to my door as John arrived to install it. That’s coordination. There was a consistent stream of communication with Metro Heating & Cooling staff to fix the issue quickly and efficiently. It is such a pleasure to work with a team where the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. Great job.

Our furnace was glitching out during a cold snap, and it was determined by multiple companies that a replacement made the most sense. Roy took our call at 8pm on a weeknight, and was able to swing by in the morning the next day for an assessment. He gave a great quote that was well below the other companies we checked out, and that included redoing some ductwork that the other companies didn't even bring up. I called him a few times to follow up on details and he was very available and knowledgable. Cory and Austin installed the furnace. They were professional and respectful while in our home - minding covid precautions, etc. Cory thoroughly reviewed the options for the vent location (we want to finish our basement down the road) and talked through multiple factors, explaining it very well. Ultimately time will tell, but we have been impressed with Metro's value and install.

They were great! We bought are house last spring and wanted a routine maintenance to be done on it this October before it got to cold. A red tag was put on the boiler and were we stuck without heat. After a few other quotes we meet with Metro. They were one of the best priced quotes we got. When we scheduled them to replace the boiler it was during a cold spell, so every heating company was booked for maintenance calls. But their scheduler was able to get a crew together to come out earlier to get our heat going. They came and worked past the business hours to get it done. My wife was so happy! Our house has heat and the process and working with them was great! And a funny note, I was calling the list of companies we got quotes from to tell them we went with someone else. I was not thinking and called Metro to cancel. The lady was a bit confused and asked me multiple times if I was sure. I was not connecting the dots that I had called Metro, even though she said so. I canceled the appointment for them to come and replace my boiler. But not 5 minutes after this Dave, who I had been working with calls me and ask if I meant to cancel. I realized my mistake and said no. To which point he thought it was in error and he had the scheduler keep it on the calendar until he was able to confirm with me. That saved me from an unhappy wife! I had an 11-year-old electric water heater that was on its last legs. Not only that, but it was burning a ton of electricity, over $600(!) worth every year. So I decided to replace it with a gas water heater utilizing a power vent. I got two quotes - one from Metro, and one from HomeWorks. Not only was Metro about a third cheaper, but they were incredibly responsive to all my questions. The installers (Mike and Alex) came a couple days later and did an exceptional job. The plumbing and venting looks professional, they worked quickly, and they left everything perfectly clean when they were done. I can't recommend them enough!

And it works really well. It isn't going to have any trouble heating or cooling our add-on space.

Metro Heating is my ‘go to’ for all of our Ac and Furnace tune ups. This is the 3rd time I’ve hired Metro. The technician today, Brady, was courteous and professional. He called 15 min prior to his arrival, removed his shoes at the door and got right to work checking over the thermostat, blower unit and then the ac compressor outside. I had Metro Heating replace my old water heater with a new one (with an upgraded anode rod and an extra anode rod for zinc), install a new oxidizer, re-configure some piping to meet modern code, and also install a new kitchen faucet and shower head, valve, and diverter (I bought the faucet and shower kit at Menards but the plumber installed them). I think everyone I worked with did an excellent job. Scheduling was easy, Nick was always quick to respond. The proposal meeting went well, Stacey was good to talk to. Chris Larson was the plumber who did all of the work and he did an excellent job. I really appreciated how he explained to me what was doing and tested everything with me at the end. I'm not an expert but I think the work he did was high quality. I'm happy with the products and the service.

Could not recommend enough! John was friendly and went out of his way to show me what he was doing and what was wrong with our malfunctioning furnace. He explained so much about our HVAC system that I didn’t otherwise know and gave my roommates and I advice for the best way to keep things running well. The repair work was relatively quick but he also stuck around for a minutes to ensure that it was working. Without being asked, he went out of his way to fix our thermostat which had come partially off of the wall. One of the best home maintenance experiences I have ever had!

Update: this second furnace and A/C I have had Metro Furnace and A/C install for the other half of our duplex. Austin and Corey did an amazing job on avarything. Excellent service, we go with them for other things also like some plumbing work we needed done. They are cheaper than anywhere else we have found. We installed a new furnace and also central air and they can in about $4000 cheaper

Nick called ahead and came promptly at the scheduled time. Great communication on where he would need to add the humidifier to our furnace duct. He was able to fit the intake pipe into a tight fit, so we were extremely happy with that! He needed to shut off the water and furnace for a short time, however let us know that in advance. He went over all the details of the settings when he was finished. Cleaned up and was very polite. We are glad to have this installed!

Charles and Mitch came out to repipe our entire house. Over the course of a day they sawed out all the old, rusted galvanized steel plumbing and replaced it with new water lines. We also opted to have our water heater updated as it was older than me. They also relocated the waterline placement so it came up at the wall instead of three feet out in the floor of my basement. The work they did was fantastic. We have water pressure everywhere in our 1918 home now. Very happy with the service and the financing made such a big undertaking so much easier to deal with.

We had a positive experience from start to finish with Metro Heating and Cooling to do a full HVAC system replacement. Price and work was very straightforward and transparent. Eric came out to give us a quote, answered all our questions and emailed us a follow up. Mike had a lot of patience and was understanding while helping us to set up the installation date, even after a few complications arose and a reschedule had to happen (on our end) - we appreciated this. Come actual day, TJ promptly contacted us in the morning to let us know they were on their way, and got here in a timely manner. After another breakdown of my 15 year old furnace I decided it was time to replace it. I got a bid from my current company and it came in on the high side I thought. Salesman had the contact with him to sign and seemed surprised when I mentioned I was getting a second bid. He also let me know if I didn’t sign today I would need to come to their office to sign the paperwork. This is where Metro Heating and Cooling entered the picture. Their bid was considerably lower and they were able to install the furnace sooner that the other company. My furnace started blowing cold air in the middle of the night, I called Metro and they sent somebody out by 12pm! She let me know on the phone the cost to send the tech out which was fantastic. He came right in the time frame she told me, he was polite and even super nice to my dog. He fixed my furnace within 30mins and made sure it was running hot again for a little bit before leaving. He pointed out something on my furnace that would probably be something to fix before next winter but told me it wasn't urgent and to just keep an eye on it. The price was the same or extremely close to other installers I called, and we ultimately chose Metro because we had a good furnace tune up experience with them last fall. Today's experience was great as well. Nick was the tech who installed the Aprilaire system. In case I forget some details when I explain the system to my spouse, Nick assured me we could call him or the office. I'm a Excel homesmart member so the request for services on my ac unit was processed quickly.. although the inconvenience of time for repair service is concern. most people work hours are during 8am to 4 pm but took off half day to be able to be home during 8 to 12.. new motor for AC unit was installed so they did an excellent job, well so I thought next day no cold air.. looking at unit and ice all around piping. So call metro heating & cooling so ask if a full inspection or checklist was done for trouble shooting was done.. no direct answer So my complaint would be another service call out. Being told no service request after 4pm or no Saturday call for services. so I have to call off work another half day on Monday!! Not happy.. their website says 24/7 service.. I'm confused

They got me the quote for the replacement that day, and scheduled the install for the next business day. Highly recommend Metro Heating and Cooling of Maplewood, MN. I wanted to replace my 18-year-old contractor grade Bryant furnace that had a small issue in the cold winter of 2016, so I had four contractors come in to give me quotes. Metro gave me the best in terms of practical sales, price and best of all, five (5) year labor warranty on a 70K BTU 96% two stage with an ECM motor Rheem. When I saw the 5 year labor warranty, I emailed Dave the salesman to say that I understood that Metro had a very high level of confidence in its products and services but that I wanted to make sure that it was not a typo. Dave replied back to say that the 5 year labor warranty was not a typo and that Metro does offer the 5 year labor warranty on heating and cooling products it installs! To make sure that Metro was really what it appears on its website, I drove to its office location and drove around it and verified that the place is nice and clean and its work trucks are good looking! So I quickly set up the installation schedule of 9/25/2018 with Micah. The installers Nick and Mike called me when they were on their way to my house and they came on time as promised by Micah. Mike and Nick have done a great job removing the old furnace and installing the new Rheem! They also brought long covers for my wood floor so it did not get dirty. They even swept the utility room floor, even though I said they did not have to! I could not have been happier! Again, I highly recommend Metro Heating and Cooling and hope my experience will help you make your own decisions when you need such services. Thank you Metro!

I want to thank Paul (owner of Metro) and Jim(installer) for their timely install I recently had. I was in a situation where I needed help very quickly, installing a water softener, had a leak with a valve and Paul called me very quickly and had the installer(Jim) out within a half hour of our phone conversation. I never met either one of them, as this was all done via phone, but when I returned home from work, the area where the softener was installed was all cleaned and professionally installed. First and foremost--it all started with a return phone call, which is HUGE in this era when folks do NOT return phone calls. I can't thank you enough for your help in my situation. We had a new central AC unit installed through Metro. They were very responsive, friendly, and professional. We opted to have them clean our ducts as well, prior to installation. They were clean and quick! I received quotes from competitors, but they offered the very best deal on a high efficiency unit, and it came with a larger rebate from Xcel then the other quotes as well. The next closest competitor quote was $1k more, and the rebate was $200 less. The unit is whisper quiet and after years of no AC, we are thrilled. Highly recommend them, and plan to use them for future projects.

First time I needed a plumber. My water heater went out on a Sunday so I called their after hours line and spoke with Tim. He said they would get me on the schedule right away. Grace, in the office, got me scheduled for Tuesday per my request. Jessie came out a few hours prior to the delivery and unhooked the old heater and took off my door that led to the utility room. After the new heater was delivered, Jessie had it hooked up and cleaned up the area within an hour and a half. Great company to deal with! I will call them again with future needs.

He did run through some tests but he assessed as another company that the unit will need full replacement. I feel confident that working with them again will prove to be the wisest choice. The heat went out and they brought us space heaters until the furnace was ready to be Installed (literally under 24hrs later) The men that came Rick W. And Robert L. Got here on time. laid out sheets to not mess anything Up (although we’re a little messy anyway) they kept tidy and worked fast got my finance up and running and set it for me. they had to build some thing In order for the new furnace to fit in. There was not a lot of noise at all they communicated well when they needed to get a part and leave and came back Fast They asked before moving about any space in my house just all around great experience. When I had questions they had answers and the filters go in the same spot so I had to learn nothing new lol love it that much more... they moved furniture that was in there way and offered to put it back when done really appreciate that most have just left it any way. They installed a new heater and air conditioning unit in my townhouse (hired through my landlord) in a few hours, with little disruption to me as I worked from home. They explained what was happening as they proceeded. When it was done, I could get more explanation inside (masks on) or not...to my comfort level...which I appreciated during this pandemic. This place was amazing! I was very fortunate to have an awesome technician adjust his schedule and come to my place within an hour of calling. This was beyond expectation. Not only that, Jesse, diagnosed the issue quickly and effectively. After some additional inspection, it was determined that my coils had iced over and needed to thaw. He mentioned that it would be possible for someone to come out later, however, if anything Monday. An appointment was scheduled. However, this was not needed, after Jesse had finished up his day, he took the time to come over and address the issue. Major kudos to Metro Heating and Cooling, and especially Jesse for helping me out! Definitely recommend.

Even though we had just had another company clean our ducts and provide a tune-up on our furnace, they did not fix the issue that Soua ended up finding. He was quick and professional in all aspects. I am very satisfied with the whole experience of working with Metro Heating and Cooling - from getting the bid through boiler installation. First of all, they were the only bidder that looked at the existing system in detail and identified what could be retained (e.g. expansion tanks, back flow prevention valves, etc.). This resulted in savings and in receiving a substantially lower bid. Barack and Michael did an excellent job in supervising the installation. They arrived on schedule with a large crew that completed installing four boilers in just a little over a day. Our old AC gave out a couple of weeks ago. I called Metro Heating and Cooling they gave me a reasonable quote for a replacement. Barak and Matt were scheduled to come out just a few days later. We got a call on that day that they were on their way. They came in and were very professional and efficient in completing the installation. I don't write many reviews. A year ago, I asked for bids from 3 companies to replace my aging furnace and AC. Metro had the best proposal and options. A year later, and I'm 100% impressed with the job they did. After a long cold winter, my heating bill is actually lower (and I had a very efficient furnace to start with). My overall energy bill is lower than it was almost 30 years ago, and my house has never been more comfortable. A guy I know recommended another company, but he now says his bills are higher, he's replacing expensive extra thick filters all the time, and his house is no more comfortable. Do yourself a favor and call these folks!
