Chris was very quick to respond. Called me on a Sunday evening and setup service for early the next morning. Two guys arrived when they said they would and immediately looked at the outside unit that I thought the motor was overheating and wouldn’t turn the fan blades. He explained to me that it was in defrost mode and that was normal operation and why it was blowing out cold air.The emergency heat would not heat and he had to climb a step ladder to get in the crawl space. He within minutes found that a wire had shorted out and he repaired it problem solved. He also changed a setting so cold air will not blow when the unit is defrosting. I was explaining to him what a pain it was to climb in there and change the filter. He went upstairs to look at the cold air return and suggested I find a filter size that would fit in it even if it meant having to build a small frame to hold it. As luck would have it a common filter size will fit it perfectly. They inspected our two gas furnaces while they were here and found they are in good condition requiring no maintenance. They were very courteous and gave me a much needed education on how a heat pump operates. Their company was recommended by Trane as a preferred service in the Mt. Sterling area. Their website is very professionally done and was how I contacted them. Highly recommend Chris and Gateway Heating and Cooling for your HVAC needs, I will not hesitate to use them in the future. Josh and John were both very helpful, polite, friendly, and professional! I was very impressed by how thorough they were in looking at my HVAC system and how patient they were with my questions. They had found some problems with my electrical wiring and very quickly got me in contact with an Electrician. (Reliable Electric based in Mount Sterling, I highly recommend them as well!) Once the electric was repaired they were here early the next day and had everything installed and running in just a few hours! 10/10 I will be coming back to Gateway for any future HVAC issues.

We are repeat customers. In every communication with us they have been unfailingly courteous and professional. We know that we can count on them in an emergency. They are above board. They always provide a receipt. If we have questions, they are glad to answer our questions and address our concerns. Most often, Mr. John Winters has been the technician to respond to our trouble calls. Courteous, knowledgeable, and professional, Mr. Winters on every occasion swiftly moved to diagnose the problem and correct it. His first trouble call for us was to work on our forced draft furnace. At that time he discovered that wasps had taken up residence in the flue pipe and in the furnace itself. In addition to informing us he took steps to mitigate their possible movement from the furnace into the house in order to protect us. We had to get an exterminator. After the wasps were removed a part had to be ordered and afterwards the furnace was made operational. He replaced a thermostat for us. His most recent trouble call was to address our A/C. We have a Home Warranty Insurance plan. The insurance company, inflexibly, chooses the contractor who will respond. That guy and his helper looked at our system then tried to offload an entire HVAC system that he happened to have to the tune of $2500 and then later $2750. Numerous misrepresentations were made to us. We got so frustrated with our Home Warranty Insurance and their contractor that we called Gateway to come and look at our system. Mr. John Winters thoroughly examined our HVAC. He diagnosed that a bad capacitor is what stopped our A/C from running, which he replaced. We were also advised about other system checkpoints and how Gateway Heating & Cooling might address them. This was around a $260 troubleshoot and our issue was speedily resolved. We hope we don't have any problems but if we do we are confident Gateway Heating & Cooling can address them.

John Winters and Chris Scaggs came. They inspected the LP gas furnace in the basement, blew the condensation line and tightened a loose connection. That only temporarily fixed the problem, so they returned and found out we needed a new collection pan. That was ordered, replaced and they cleaned up afterward. They were on time. Very nice. Polite. Charged 246.50 to replace capacitor, seems way too expensive and several people have told me it was. Many people have told me the basic cost of capacitor should have been 30 bucks. However they did come next day after calling and did seem to fix the unit. Chris Skaggs was polite and seemed professional, but I was concerned about his abilities.

Our AC stopped working and we called Gateway Heating and Cooling. We received prompt and professional service on a Saturday! We needed a new thermostat. To save us some money, the repairman gave us the option of doing it ourselves, (Which made us happy!) When we had some difficulty installing/programming the new thermostat, we called and the owner and repairman came right on out to our house and solved the problem quickly that same day! I called this company based on the previous 5 star reviews, but it was a mistake. I can't even comment on the quality of service because no one showed up! I spoke over the phone and they confirmed an arrival time between 4 PM and 6 PM. I was at work and I got a text message notifying me that it was looking like closer to 6 PM which was fine. 6 PM passes and then then its 7 PM no response. I sent them a message asking for an arrival time....nothing. I have small children and our house is 86 degrees! I am very upset and would not recommend this company to anyone. Update: The technician did arrive and diagnose the trouble we had with our breaker. I appreciate them making it right. Thank you.

My AC went kaput and my house quickly rose to a bolstering 89 degrees. I panicked and immediately messaged them to save me from the inevitable heat stroke. Josh let me know that someone would be by tomorrow and he would message when they were on the way. John Winters showed up while my mom was here and got everything fixed same day and affordably. I am writing this now from the cool 70 degree comfort of my home. Would definitely recommend their service!

They came out and put metal crossover Andrew my double wide and I had some condensation in my crossover I’ve had four or five different HVAC companies come out and look they never could fix it gateway fixed it and they’re honest because in the process of cleaning my system water got on one of the parts that caused the air not to work properly and they were honest and they fixed it free of charge I am signed up for regular maintenance with this company I would definitely recommend this company and the guys are so nice

It was a painfully, humid day in the Bluegrass. The heat rising as the sun grows high on this July day. Even with the scorching temps, there was relief to be had by being outside. The salt runnng thru my freshly thinned brows had me regretting their trimming a few days prior. And the worst part of all; it's the weekend. I am stuck in the sticky rut for a few more days. Wrong! My daughter, who had used Gateway in the past, said to call them and they will get you fixed. Josh and John were the utmost professionals. John showed up and had us cooling down in just a few hours.
