We probably saw 10 different contractors before we chose John and Superior HVAC & Tank Removal. We recently bought a house and needed to replace our old oil furnace from the 1970s. John arrived on time always, and was always super responsive via text/phone call with any questions. Phil and Charity at the office were also responsive and thorough. We decided to go with an air-source ducted heat pump and propane backup furnace to replace our oil furnace. Rather than having to work with three different contractors, John was a one-stop shop for our heating/cooling needs. Not only does he own Superior (and do oil tank removals to boot), he also owns Right Energy and got us an incredible deal on a propane furnace backup system (buried 500gal tank, excavation, cheap propane). This saved us a great deal of time and money. The entire process was smooth and easy. John's team, especially Tyler, were also forthright and thorough. While they were insulating our ductwork, Tyler noticed a small leak and saved us probably thousands of dollars in later repairs by the time we would have caught it ourselves. They came to fix the problem the same day. We couldn't be happier with our decision to choose Superior HVAC and Tank Removal! We'd highly recommend them to anyone in the greater Middlebury area!

Cracked oil tank - they were there the next day on time. Stayed with the quoted price and the job ended up being almost 6 hours long. While I will have to fix some walls - it was extremely tough to get the 275 oil tank into the basement (through a normal door, down 5 stairs and around a corner). The crew worked really hard. I would recommend to anyone! **Also, cleaned up really well.

HVAC technician came in for a boiler cleaning. He was thorough and worked quickly. I clean it annually but I did not schedule it until we were into the heating season so it took a while to get an appointment but they told me to make sure I called them if a problem occurred. I found Superior via the BBB website -- my elderly mother needed a new oil tank, and given her neuroticism, I was charged with sorting this out. Joe was quick to come out to give an estimate, but also didn't try any scare tactics (we had a small leak in the tank that we'd patched) NOR did he try to up-sell us to a Roth (more pricey, totally unnecessary). I solicited 4 different companies for estimates, and all of them fell within $500 of each other. Sure, would I liked to have gone w/the cheapest? Yes except that guy not only called me by the wrong name twice BUT he cut me off condescendingly in conversation, making me wary. That's neither here nor there tho! While most of the companies I checked had overall good reviews--Superior's are top notch reviews AND Joe was so great, leading to my decision to use them. Joe accommodated *all* of my questions (actually, my mom's, but I did the asking). I think I might have called or emailed him 5 plus times (INCLUDING WEEKEND!) after receiving his estimate and he'd always respond the same day and explain in more detail. With an icy mess coming to our area, he knew my mom would go crazy and rescheduled to a later day the week with good weather and which could work for me (he even rearranged something to make this happen). On the day of, he and Ryan quickly and efficiently removed a half full 275 oil tank, replaced it with a brand new one, and left the house in perfectly clean condition (FYI, easily passed building inspection the next day). That evening, though, mom found a water leak (NOT IN THE TANK). I had no idea what was going on and thought it was related and at 1am called Superior. His son, John (FYI who also has his own company for oil/propane delivery: rightenergyct.com), called me back within minutes and SHOWED UP AT THE DOOR in less than 30 minutes. He fixed the problem in less than 10 mins - NOTHING to do with the oil tank (this was confirmed by the inspector the next day), and just our luck we got a pinhole leak in a water pipe. John was SO KIND, so pleasant -- keep in mind it's now 2am and I am sure I pulled him out of bed -- and so professional. I wanted to cry b/c my mom was SO STRESSED but Joe and John's kindness and prompt service made this so pleasant. Anyhow, now I know WHY Superior has 146 five star reviews. I'm not writing for any compensation, nor am I a friend of anyone in the company -- I am a grateful client who was (is) really impressed by their service, reliability, and patience. They're just great, and thanks Joe, John, and Ryan!

I have used this company for over 40 years and three homes. They have done everything from clean and service my oil furnaces to replacing the furnaces at two of my homes (one damaged in a fire and the second in a flood). I have trusted them with my home and my pets(they love the technicians) for as long as I have been a homeowner. When they came to my house for service calls I knew my pets weren't going to be mistakenly let outside and I didn't have to worry about my valuables in the house. A hands on owner who is there for when his customers need him. We entered into a service agreement with John right before the winter, I have never had a service agreement with a company in my life. Due to the times and how difficult it is to find labor to come to your home I felt that it would be in my families best interest to have a company on call when we needed them, our furnace is 24 years old. Sure enough December 21st my the fire box in my furnace cracks causing all sorts of alarms to go off. Superior is called at 2:30 am and John the owner shows up 30 minutes later. Thankfully we have a wood burning stove that kept our home heated throughout the day. John was able to get our furnace up and running the next day once he had access to supplies. He salvaged the current furnace for us and priced us out a new that we will be getting installed before the winter because it’s time. We also use Superior for our central air duct cleaning which we plan on doing annually due our children experiencing allergies to pollen and maybe dust.
