Josh was the estimator. He did not pressure me into anything. He was knowledgeable, professional, informative, and gave me a fair price; not cheap and not expensive. I learned a long time ago the good work does not come cheap and cheap work does not come good.
2 days later, Bill S. and his helper, Mike, came out and removed my 50+year old, 100amp electrical service and upgraded it to a new, Square D, 200amp service. They brought my electrical system up to code. They were prepared for the job, had a fully stocked van, were professional, efficient and methodical during the installation. They installed everything very neatly correctly. They cleaned up after themselves. NOTHING was too much trouble. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Everyone I've interacted with at Gen3 has been friendly, professional, helpful, and prompt. I'm a homeowner doing a bathroom upgrade that includes heated floors. The floor tiling and installation of the under-tile heating mats was done by the flooring company but we needed an electrician to run a dedicated circuit from the breaker panel and down the hall to the bathroom, install the thermostat for the system, and run the wires from the floor heating system up to the thermostat, and connect everything up correctly.
Our technician Chris was super professional, efficient, and worked neatly and quietly and with attention to detail. Patched up the places where wall cuts were needed, cleaned everything up nicely, a terrific job. Chris and the team at Gen3 made the entire experience easy and smooth. Highly recommend!

They put together multiple work estimates for the jobs based on different scenarios that they could run into, which I appreciated. I didn’t know they provided additional services such as hanging lights. I bought a vintage lamp months ago but had no idea how I was going to hang it myself, given my steep, narrow South Philly row home stairs. Mike and his helper got the job done flawlessly. Have been using Gen 3 for years and happy with the latest work they did as usual! Branden Ho was exceptionally courteous and did a great job explaining issues he found and providing options on how to address them. It's a great feeling when you feel confident that your electrical is updated and safe. We recently had an electrical panel replacement, some additional outlets added and new lighting in our basement. We could not be happier with the work. This is our third property in Philly and we have always trusted Gen 3 to do the work from a full home rewire removing old knob and tube to adding new fixtures to fixing safety issues. Every electrician I've worked with (Stephen, Dave, Evan, Branden, and others) have all been fantastic as well as everyone I've spoken to in the office. All in all, a great company and one I trust to always show up on time and complete work in a timely manner.

TLDR(too long didn’t read) Gen 3 did an incredible job. Seem less experience from estimate to installation. Beat the pricing of most electricians that came out and were the most professional, efficient and transparent.
Here is some advice I will give to everyone. Call and schedule. I tried to schedule on the website and I was prompted with a fee and a time that was way further out. I understand that this would have applied to the eventual install but it never feels good to pay for an estimate. It was later explained that is typically for simple jobs that can be done in the moment. When the estimator came out not only did he give a fair price and inspect the job thoroughly he gave an honest opinion of what I should and shouldn’t do. Additionally he looked at a small light switch issue and… fixed it in the moment. He shared that he tells the office he does this sometimes so I shouldn’t be getting him in trouble. Others said they would changed 150-350 to resolve this simple issue. He did it in no time. Though he refused the tip I felt compelled because of his kindness. He also advised against a second charger that I was originally thinking of to save money.
Booking was simple and only about 2 weeks out. Some other installers never called back or were months out… or just never called back.
The technicians were extremely professional and finished in no time. They finished ahead of schedule, cleaned up exceptionally well and explained everything.
What a pleasure to work with Gen 3! And I got a duck on my outlet!

Today I met with Brandon. He was timely. He phoned prior to arriving to let me know that he would arrive within five minutes and he did. He came into my home he was kind, gracious, and respectful, and went straight to business. He put the little shoe covers on, I led him to my basement, where he viewed and assessed the electrical outlet for the new dryer and the hook-up that I had. He went over everything in detail and in terms that I could understand. He gave me an estimate. He understood that it is the holidays and money is tight he did give suggestions. I wanted the work done timely and correctly, and his suggestions were in-line with my thoughts and priced appropriately. He did a great job, and was quick. He gelled well with the family members that he met even joked with my daughter. It was a good experience. If all of the workers are like Brandon I would definitely be open and welcome to having them do more work in my home. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He was conscientious, solved 2 problems instead of just working on the issue which I called about and gave me good recommendations for future maintenance of my system. We hired GEN3 for a knob-and-tube remediation, which entailed essentially a whole house rewire and some quality-of-life upgrades to our electrical system, and the job was performed quickly, professionally, and the quality of the work was astonishingly high. The crew was friendly, minimally disruptive, cleaned up *extremely* well, and was able to work around our five cats. We've had GEN3 to the house for a couple jobs now, and each time, their work has been premium quality. I can honestly say I've been sleeping more soundly knowing I have a contemporary electrical system in my 100 year-old house. I can't recommend them highly enough!

We worked with GEN3 Electric & HVAC to run diagnostics and repair our malfunctioning heater. First, they were absolutely wonderful on the phone, carefully listened to our descriptions and paid close attention to our concerns. The scheduling was fast and flexible and all personnel were so kind and understanding. Cliff did a great job running an early diagnosis and reporting the observations to the supervisors, it was followed by a whole-day and thorough troubleshooting of the entire furnace done perfectly by Dave and Jeffrey, leading to the replacement of a faulty component. Finally we would like to sincerely thank Jeffrey for his amazing job reconfiguring the pipework and fixing the remaining issues with the furnace, it is running super smoothly now. Thank you GEN3!

Gen 3 just installed a mini split system in my apartment. Every person I dealt with was exceptionally pleasant. The installers (Eric and Jonathan and crew) stayed in touch with me and made sure I was happy with the unit placement. It was a major job, requiring a lot of people, and they got it done ahead of schedule. I could not be more pleased with the service, and I will absolutely use Gen 3 in future for any electrical work I need.

Recently had Gen3 come out to our house for a pair of visits to do a variety of different electrical work, including water line grounding, GFIC outlets, running a separate line, and changing some of our breakers out. Evan was great, timely, courteous, explained everything very well, and did a great job quickly that we needed done. The only issue I had was after the first visit, they needed to come back for a second time, and despite being told I'd be contacted to schedule said visit, I never was, and I had to reach out multiple times to the company to get that scheduled; was at times very frustrating because we were hoping to have the work done prior to our move, but because of the delays and some lack of communication, it occurred after.
I'd still recommend Gen3 and plan on contacting them if I need work in the future, I just hope they'll be more proactive in their communication and scheduling for follow up visits in the future.

I recently moved into my house and had a number of problems with the electrical system that needed to be fixed. Evan Painter came and did a check of the electrical systems, and he returned the next day to fix several electrical safety problems which I had not seen before, including fixing the smoke alarms which were disconnected, and at the same time also took care of the items I knew beforehand that needed to be fixed. He was excellent: responsive to my schedule, prompt, knowledgeable, thorough, personable, efficient, professional, and cleaned up nicely after he finished each task. I would be very happy to have him do work in my house again.

I was in need of a reliable company to do some electrical/HVAC upgrade for my new home earlier in the year and GEN3 immediately stood out in my google search so I thought I will give the company a call to see if they will be willing to come out to give me a quote.
To start, I was so impressed with the fact that GEN3 sent me appointment confirmation via email and reminders via phone texts.

George Clanton removed 3 hard-wired smoke detectors and installed 3 smoke/carbon detectors. He worked efficiently and quickly. I was impressed with his work manner, his clear explanations, and his respect. After he left, one of the units malfunctioned. I called, and he returned almost immediately, tested the battery and the unit, decided to replace it with a new unit. All this in 15 minutes. I will definitely request him if I need electrical work again. He is a great representative of the GEN3 service model.

I've hired Gen3 a number of times, including for installing a grounding system when I first bought my house, additional outlet installation, HVAC system maintenance, and A/C repair. They always explain what they're doing and why they're recommending certain things, as well as general advice on how to maintain things myself to avoid future issues. They schedule pretty immediately, so there's no waiting for weeks to get things done, and they're very willing and able to accommodate my schedule. On the day of service, they send the name and picture of your technician, so you know who to expect, and they're always friendly. They'll price out different options on the spot, and never try to hard sell. They also have great deals for their email list!

Important lesson: There are always 2 sides to every story. After some initial miscommunication, Gen 3 came out and fixed the problem with my thermostat efficiently and effectively. They were prompt and courteous (as they had always been in the past) and did a great job. Thank you for restoring my faith!
Initial review:
We hired Gen 3 to install some thermostats in our home. The estimate was quite high but I went with it since we have always been pleased with their work. The service appointment seemed fine but something went wrong with the installation and the boiler began to run full blast regardless of the thermostat settings. I called immediately when I realized the boiler was not communicating with the thermostat and spoke to a scheduler. They said they would call back but never did. I called again the next day and they sent someone out who was unqualified to fix the problem and who, quite frankly, was rude about it. He said they would send someone else but again they didn't call. When I finally got in touch with the office they said they weren't available during the times I could be home and it would be yet another day before they could send someone. Meanwhile, my heat is running full blast and it is 80 degrees in my house. I had to turn on the AC! This is not the type of customer service I would expect. Gen 3 should have been calling me and asking what they can do to make it right since it was their mistake rather than making me hunt them down and adjust my time to their schedule. Their motto is all about customer service but they certainly don't practice what they preach. Shame on you, Gen 3! You just lost a loyal customer.

We love Gen3. We use them for all of our electrical needs. Take our recent experience with them for example. We had a huge project completed and within a couple days we had reason to be concerned about the electrical work that was part of the project. So we called Gen3 out. They came the next day, and our technician, Manny, dove right in. He didn't rush it. Instead, he spent HOURS digging into the issue and was able to show us what was going on. He even separated it into two camps: a problem but not dangerous (should fix, but won't burn the house down) and dangerous (need to fix ASAP). It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for with them and I mean that as a compliment. It is incredibly worth it. We decided going forward that instead of spending the money twice and having Gen3 come out to clean up the mess, we won't allow anyone to touch the electrical system other than Gen3. That's how much we trust them.

Jeffrey did a great job of cleaning our mini-split unit. He took great care to contain the mess and to clean up afterward. He was friendly and professional. Kudos to Jeffrey, but we probably won't be hiring Gen 3 again because their prices have gone through the roof. The service to clean the mini-split was offered in 2020 for a flat fee of $100; the bill in 2023 was $260--for a service that took a little over an hour. Every time we have Gen 3 out to do work for us, their rates seem to have jumped up again.

I called them this morning they gave me a morning appointment showed up on time and diagnosed the problem and also gave it enough time to figure out why my furnaces were not working. 2 different properties 2 different dates same results they got my heater back up and running for my tenants and I am very thankful for them and so are my tenants.
I worked with Jeff, Jeffrey, and John as technicians. I also worked with brain at the office they are all very friendly and helpful. They throughly explained everything to me and offered fair pricing to fix the issues. They will now be my go to for any heating and ac related issues.

After an initial fumble with Gen3 where a service technician came out to quote a replacement HVAC and I never heard back from them for months, I called again to inquire about the status of my account. I spoke with a very nice woman on the phone who told me that the original service technician was no longer with the company and because of that, my account had slipped through the cracks. I scheduled another appointment with a new technician to get a quote. It was very easy and fast to get the second appointment and the woman on the phone seemed genuinely apologetic that I had never heard back from them the first time. Dave Capeci came out to give me a new quote and get the ball rolling again, and he was excellent! Fast, professional, and friendly, he took the measurements and promised to get back to me on sourcing the system by the end of the day. About an hour later, I heard back from him with a quote and that he would be able to schedule the install of the new HVAC in the next two weeks. Hopefully, I should have a new HVAC system in the near future!

I have been using GEN3 for maintaining my HVAC system since 2020, and they were always professional, to the point, and on time. This week, my heating system stopped working. They came in within 2 hours of me calling them. Richard Allen was here and he identified the required repair immediately. After getting the spare part from somewhere else, he came back at the time he promised he would make, and got it running again in half an hour. Again, very direct, and what matters to me the most is seeing a provider do their job as quickly as possible so I know they know what they are doing. I highly recommend GEN3, and Richard is good at what he does and is pleasant to work with.

We called Gen3 to come diagnose several electrical issues we were having, including several failing wafer LED lights. I can't enough positive things about my experience with them. Scheduling was easy and responsive via text when I needed to reschedule. The electrician, Chris, was on time, professional, and able to listen, ask good questions, and figure out and fix our issues. The 22 lights did have to be replaced but we had already purchased new ones. After an estimate, he got to work. He did the replacements with very little drywall damage. He bagged up all the old lights, cleaned up the area, and hauled it all away. I'll definitely use Gen3 for any future issues.

We had a bit of a nightmare heating situation and needed to get a new furnace and HVAC system before temps dropped below freezing. Dave was scheduled to come out to give us an estimate, even though he was coming from Jersey and it was almost 5. On his way to us, he got a flat tire and instead of just pushing us back to the next day, he left his truck and took an Uber to our house to give us a quote, all after normal business hours. Something I've learned to value from a business working on my home is a dedication to coming back to address any issues that may have cropped up. Gen3 installed a combination boiler in my 120 year-old home a year ago, and as with any new equipment interacting with aging household infrastructure, there have been a few hiccups, but every time there's been an issue they've responded quickly, honoring the warranty without question. Chris came and replaced 5 outdoor lights (sconces). As a past customer, I got an email that said GEN3 was "in my neighborhood" that day and would give me a slight discount on work that could be performed that day. I called them up 10 minutes after getting the email and they scheduled it right away; Chris was there within 30 minutes or so. We completely re-wired our home following the discovery of knob and tube wiring throughout. It was a big job and Corey and his team were absolutely fantastic, professional, courteous and gave lots of helpful advice on what layout we could adopt that was minimally invasive. Mike Janiszewski scoped out the project in our initial consultation and was very helpful, providing guidance on areas that we hadn't thought to consider. They managed to re-wire all three floors and the basement with a minimal number of holes in the plasterwork, which they patched really well. They also installed ethernet lines and Nest cameras throughout the home and did a quality job. Well worth it and would highly recommend their electricians. All of their office staff were also fantastic and really responsive whenever we called or emailed and I'd like to mention Jessica in particular who answered lots of our questions throughout the process and talked us through the options for financing. We've just had Justin service our HVAC and install a Nest Thermostat and he also did a great job. Overall really happy and would recommend Gen3 to anyone, especially for big projects!

Just an awesome experience with GEN3. We moved into our 1920s era home in 2020 and have worked with GEN3 to bring it into the 21st century. Aaron and Brandon just finished rewiring our home and remediating the old knob and tube. They were phenomenal! Always friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They paid attention to our requests and made fantastic suggestions. The clean up was thorough. It took over a week to complete this job and they took great care with our home.
I would also like to mention Josh who did the initial knob and tube assessment. He spent two hours with me and my husband and is a great educator. He prepared multiple quotes for us while we decided what we wanted and made the renovation much less intimidating.

On a side note, I wish that the initial receptionist who we scheduled with would have told us that we should not have the work done while we stay in the home ourselves. This review for expert handling of a/c repair is overdue !
Gen-3 installed a new HVAC unit in our home in January and due to extreme cold outdoor temps was unable to test the a/c at that time. We had no problems at all with the heat but we needed to schedule a follow up in the spring because the a/c did not work properly.
Several techs needed to be dispatched to troubleshoot the issue but it was eventually resolved by the skilled professionals at Gen-3. Dave, Brian and Del all spent time in our place over 2 days working hard to identify the problem, which Del eventually did identify and fix on day 2. We thank them for their diligence as well as for being friendly, respectful and tidy while in our home.
Gen-3 also delivered, installed and later came back to pick up a portable a/c unit for us to use in the interim since hot temps were already on the way.
The follow up appointments, including the one to pick up the portable unit, were made with respect to timing and our schedules by the competent and professional office team. Thank you Arianna , Andrea and especially to Cindy since Cindy was the one who worked with us the most !

I recently used Gen 3, and had multiple interactions with them and in all occasions they were very professional and provided fair and clear pricing. Earlier today, Aaron and Cyrus came out to install additional recessed lights, including installation of new cans etc,. After the walkthrough, Aaron identified some potential issues to my original plan and very thoughtfully walked me through some potential options that would work better with the existing switching and wiring. He was very patient as I tried to solidify the plan with my spouse who was working and wasn't able to respond that quickly. With Aaron's advice, I ended up saving several hundred dollars and landed on a lighting configuration that I am very pleased with. Also, Cyrus was very professional and communicated well throughout and both of them were very keen to keep the work area clean by laying down tarps/coverings to protect the floor. Vacuuming up after as well was a nice touch! I will definitely be using Gen 3 for other electrical work and perhaps for HVAC!

After the high level of service I received today, it is very likely I will. I first called Gen3 on an emergency basis when my smoke alarms failed at once, and within an hour or two I had two techs at my home working to replace the system. I was very impressed with their service. They were professional and quick to respond. After that positive experience, I called Gen3 again to install new lighting fixtures--a pair of pendant lights in my kitchen and a chandelier in my bedroom. Evan P. did an awesome job. He was professional, friendly, and got everything working and looking fabulous in about two hours. Also, due an uptick in emergency calls, Gen3 had to reschedule my original appointment for two days later. And as a courtesy, they gave me a $50 credit, which was a very nice gesture. I will definitely call Gen3 again in the future.
As an update, I have now used Gen3 three times. Today, I had Chris and Evan P. install a light fixture in a guest bedroom. This is my second time having Evan as my tech, and he is awesome! Very professional and friendly, and also efficient. Today, Evan and Chris went above and beyond when they identified a problem with my panel that I would not have recognized on my own. Despite that it was not part of my scheduled service, they took the time to fix the issue. I highly recommend Gen3.

After obtaining multiple quotes I was most impressed with Gen3 so I decided to use them and they did not disappoint. To start their technician, Josh, that came out to do the quote was able to come earlier than expected, was super thorough and did a great job explaining everything.

The whole Gen3 onboarding crew and my assigned specialist, Matt, were great. Everyone with whom I spoke on the phone at Gen3 was friendly knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer all of my questions and explain in detail everything about Gen3, the services that Gen3 offers, and the whole process of having a specialist come out, provide a quote, and complete any work.
I received a call and text to notify me that my Gen3 specialist was on the way on the day of my appointment. This was so great and helpful. Matt arrived on time, was friendly, and listened to everything that I had to ask and say and answered all of my questions and provided his expert and honest opinion. He was never condescending, and I never felt rushed. He took the time to assess properly. It was clear that he is experienced and knowledgeable, knows how to do his job well, and is a practiced-hand, which was reassuring. Matt provided his quotes/summary very quickly, and Gen3 called to follow up on the visit quickly, as well.

I bought an old house that needed major rewiring and upgrading, and after a few estimates went with Gen3. I really appreciated the detailed breakdown and options they give you, and tbh I went with the "cheapest" one they presented and never got any kind of sales-y pressure to do more. Also, they 100% stand by their quote even if they miss something that makes the job more complicated (which happened in my case!)
As far as the actual job went, Mike and his team were great. I didn't really know what to expect so I kind of just thought they'd show up every day and do work and leave. It was much more thorough and communicative than I anticipated, which was GREAT. Mike thought of a lot of questions/options along the way (not upselling, just asking preferences about outlets and light fixtures etc) and also pretty much every day gave me a quick rundown of what was done, the game plan for the following day, etc. This helps especially in the case of a major rewire because it inevitably makes a room pretty dusty and it's nice to know if a room is "off" for a night, and when I desperately needed the stove one evening Mike was kind enough to ask before he left for the day if I was going to use it and stayed a little later to have it up and running again even though they were in the middle of doing the whole kitchen.
Great communication, honest, thorough, thoughtful, and really just went the extra mile(s). I hope to never have to have a major job done again lol, but am definitely happy with this company for future and hopefully smaller repairs/maintenance.

Both the office and a John called to let me know and gave me a chance to reschedule if I wanted to. John got here within the time he stated. He was friendly, Covid-19 prepared, and though it was the end of his day, he took the time to figure out my problems. John took the time to listen to me and explain what he was doing and why. Though friendly, John was also very professional. He gave me some options and let me decide which to go with, no hard sale. John also gave me his card, so if my lights continue to have a problem, he will come back. We both feel fairly certain he solved both issues,though. Call Gen 3 for your electric needs. Ask for John but if he’s not free you won’t go wrong with the other electricians.

I had Osiris and his assistant John out for a core rewire project in June of 2020. We needed to take some of the pressure off of our knob and tube system, but didn't want to do a full knob and tube rewire. The core rewire was an efficient way to move forward.
Osiris and John arrived on time each day and completed the work in a professional manner. I have hired some plumbers, some handymen, some roofers in my time at this home, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. Gen3 is hands down the best service provider I've hired in my nearly 4 years at this old home that needs some care from time to time.
Frankly it looked like Osiris and John weren't even here - besides some small patches in the walls that I need to paint, you wouldn't even know there was a major rewiring project completed at this home. Mike first came to our house an helped map out recessed lighting that would work best as we did not have an exact layout we wanted and also found ways to upgrade our panel and improve its safety without having to replace the entire box. Osiris and Dan were the electricians that did the work and they were very professional and answered any and all questions I had. Update: Gordon came to install the new upgraded panel,(200 amp), repair three outlets and install an additional one outside and ground the system according to current code. They came when they said, worked diligently all day, and communicated well throughout the process. They adhered to all safety protocols and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use this company again if the need arises. I received a follow up call from the office, after the work was done to make sure everything was satisfactory.

I highly recommend Gen3 Electric. I came in contact with at least four of their electricians. All of them were extremely professional and thorough. They came out on two occasions. One to assess our amp service. We ultimately signed on with this company to upgrade to a much needed 200 amp service. I also called for an emergency service call. They came out the same day (for a fee). Although the prices may be higher than other electricians, they do have the resources for emergency service (which we needed). I have a Ring smart doorbell whose battery seems to die faster and faster and time goes on. After many missed rings, I wanted to get the doorbell hardwired so I didn't have to worry about the battery.
I just had Evan from GEN3 out and he did a wonderful job. He called on his way, walked through the process, gave me a couple options to pick from, and knocked out the work right right away. My home was left as clean as when he arrived and I couldn't be happier.
The Ring smart doorbell is now hardwired and I can enable features that were not supported on battery mode. :)

UPDATE: After writing this review, Gen3 management contacted me and our experience improved. I'm increasing the rating because they were apologetic, communication improved greatly, and they got a crew out to make our system operational.

We contracted Gen3 for the relatively large job of replacing our furnace and installing AC throughout our home.
As the installers were packing up they let me know that the air-handler they installed in our attic was not working and that someone would be in contact with me later that day or the next day.
No one from Gen3 contacted me for 5 days despite me contacting the office multiple times.
Eventually an appointment was schedule to fix the brand-new equipment they installed for the 8th day since the installation crew left. That appointment was cancelled last-minute and reschedule for 11th day. On the 11th day, no one from Gen3 showed up.
In addition to all of this, the attention to detail with the installation was poor. I never would have written a review of a local business about these things alone, but in combination with the other issues it paints a clearer picture of what to expect:
- One of the ceiling vents isn't flush with the ceiling
- In multiple rooms the installers left blue-goo (I'm assuming leak detection fluid) drips down the wall, on the baseboards, and puddled on the floor. By the time I noticed this the baseboards were stained in multiple spots and needed to be repainted.
- They managed to gouge one of the plank of a brand-new floor that we had installed on one of our rooms two weeks prior.
The sales consultant we worked with before the installations was helpful and responsive, so we had had high hopes of how this job would go. Unfortunately, the reality is that Gen3 is irresponsible and unresponsive. The lack of care, communication, and proactive efforts to make this situation right is bad business, disrespectful, and is at this point insulting.

Gen 3 has done a lot of work for us in our old house, including a complete re-wire a couple of years ago. Today John Yeomans installed two gorgeous heated towel racks and they look great. I forgot to mention that Bill literally saved me hundreds of dollars in the end. On top of that he also saved my home and my life.
While rewiring my 1911 colonial revival home, Bill came across an inconspicuous light fixture backed by knob and tube. Little did we all know that the fixture was actually concealing a gas pipe termination. At some point that pipe powered a gas light fixture. Who ever terminated that gas pipe in the past set a ticking time bomb.
While rewiring the old light chandelier, Bill smelled a rush of gas. He reacted so quickly and courageously. Bill instinctively ran into the basement and shut off the gas line, all the while putting himself at great risk.
Truly a selfless act. Words can not express my gratitude.
As a bonus, he also brought to my attention a potential water leak. While fishing a wire Bill noticed a pipe in the ceiling that was strangely put together. Had he not called me I would be dealing with costly water damage.
Bill went above and beyond. He truly cares about his craft, his team mate and his clients. He takes a project and owns it.

I recently had some major work done on an antique home that was recently purchased. The previous owner did a poor job of installing and maintaining the electrical box, wiring and even the meter. The combination caused the power to go out when it rained. GEN3 was recommended to us by a neighbor who said that a number of the old houses on the block were very pleased with the work GEN3 performed.
We contacted customer service about an estimate and were quickly given an appointment with a detailed estimate. Jessica and Cyndy were in constant contact with us and the electricians arrived right on time.
This was not an easy project, nothing in an old house is, but Aaron Davis and Jose Galabiz worked diligently to fix our problems and could even explain it to someone like me. I could hear Aaron and Jose talking about the repairs and it was always related to the best option for the house.

I called four HVAC companies in Philadelphia for an annual maintenance check but also to figure out why only the AC worked and not the heat after installing a new thermostat. On Wednesday, I received a confirmation time with a window of 8 - 10 a.m. with the person telling me I was first on the list so the tech should arrive in the 8 o'clock hour. At this point, I was really happy with Gen3. I also received an email confirming the appt. On Saturday morning at 9:40 a.m. I called Gen3 to ask if the tech was still coming and I was told that the "new appointment" was from 11 -12 because the techs work on a volunteer basis. I had completely rearranged my day around 8 - 10 a.m. so I was pretty unhappy with the change and it seemed like the tech had no idea there was an appointment when he finally arrived. Fortunately, the tech - Travis, lived near me so he arrived at 10:45 a.m. which still wasn't great considering that I believed he would be there "close to 8". But, he was friendly and professional and found a couple of issues that I was unaware of, so in the long run was extremely helpful. What could have been a really awful experience, ended up being realatively painless because Travis was able to fix the issues. But, I will say, that there needs to be more communication between the front office and the techs. He really was unaware that I had an appointment - even though there was a call and email confirmation. All-in-all I would recommend Gen3 and highly recommend Travis.

We are more than satisfied with the work done. Dan and Even were great. They had a lot of work to do and finished it all in one day. They were well organized and formulated a plan and executed it flawlessly. Kudos to the both of you for your professionalism and constant communication throughout the process. While the company was a bit pricey, the quality of work was worth it. You can not tell where they cut in to run wires. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or use them for future projects.

Excellent service and communication overall. I had several “deferred maintenance” type repairs to be done. Evan was extremely through, did a great job of explaining to me what the issues were and why they recommended various fixes (I.e, why a particular fixture had to be replaced rather than repaired). He also pointed out a few things to keep an eye on, but was very realistic about it - no pressure to throw in more than I was looking for. I had to schedule pretty far out, which was fine with me since these weren’t emergencies - but I’m confident in the work and feel that you get what you pay for. Would definitely use them again for any other issues.

I am very handy and do most of my own home renovation work, but I could not figure out some lighting and switch wiring problems. Yet Thomas from Gen3 was able to work through the issues efficiently, taking the time to explain the situation.
Additionally, Gen3 had identified a safety issue with my main breaker panel during their initial assessment. Thomas read through the prior report, reviewed their pictures, and even went so far as to communicate with the initial person inspecting the panel to make sure the issues were fixed correctly.

They are booked out several weeks in advance, which, while it is inconvenient for me, speaks to how popular they are. I have used Gen3 several times over the last few years and have found them to always be very responsive to inquiries, always on time, and always communicative. I dont find that they'll charge unnecessarily and they seem to always be fair with their assessments. For example, a few years ago, I asked for a technician to come out and fix a ceiling fan install from the year before. When he came out, he fixed it, but did not charge anything for the fix.
With this most recent install, I needed an overhaul of my electric system, which was old, out of date, and sad. Aaron was on time and FAST...had everything done in about 5 hours.
Also - online booking! Huge plus.

I bought a house in Fishtown last month. The house needed A Lot of work- the first thing we did was rewire the entire house. Gen3 was actually recommended to us by our realtor, and we spoke to a few electricians but Gen3 was clearly a professional and large company that could get to us quickly and efficiently. I have loved working with them every step of the way- they sent someone out (Josh T.) to do a Knob and Tube evaluation- and he was so amazing and thorough I felt I really understood what was going on in my house. I deal with Josh to review the estimates for the work done- they offer 3 estimates and are willing to work with you to figure out what you want done and what the priorities are. Are they expensive? Yes. I am not going to lie about that. But they also were able to start on my house two weeks after I bought it. My installers- Dan Giuliani and Ian Zolitor, were super nice and super hard working. Whenever I went by the house Dan would stop and tell me what they were working on and make sure everything was the way I wanted it. I felt really comfortable knowing they were at the house everyday and I knew the work was getting done and done well. They finished the job in 7 days- and I could not have been happier. In fact, I called them back to add one more outlet and change where a switch was placed as well as move the closet light- they came out right away and the electrician who did the work, Brian Schied, was super quick and great! Everything got done in about 2 hours.
I would be remiss if I didn't also mention the admin staff. Every time I called the office I spoke with Stephen or Lauren. They were super nice and helpful- they always knew exactly who I was and what stage the job was at- which let me tell you, felt really nice! I just spoke with Lauren this morning because we are actually hiring Gen3 to do our HVAC as well! She was great as usual- super helpful with explaining the pricing and also scheduling the job as fast as possible.
In total: Gen3 is a great company. They are not cheap- but they are 100% professional, helpful, reliable and fast. I would recommend them to anyone who has big electric or HVAC projects in the area!

Chris found that a capacitor had failed in our air conditioning system which would have caused the motor to fail, probably at the peak of the summer. It pays to do preventative maintenance.

We recently got recessed lighting installed in a couple rooms of a newly purchased home. GEN3 was consistently easy to work with. The three separate customer service representatives we talked to during the process (Janay, Tiffany, and Stephen) were pleasant and helpful and made sure that everything was moving forward at the right pace.
Josh Trisdorfer was the one who came out and gave us our estimates. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all our questions and gave recommendations, but made sure to leave us with multiple options so that we could decide what was right for what we wanted.
The two electricians who actually did the installation were Stephen Deans and Mark Mooney. They worked quickly and checked in whenever a quirk of the house required an alteration or deviation. Much like the first visit for the estimates, they were happy to answer our questions about the install and the process, and were easy to work with. Everything was done in a single day.
And the new lights look great! Two rooms with four recessed lights each (in the corners -- plus a single light in a walk in closet) and a dimmer switch per room really make the lighting in those two rooms stand out!

I hired Gen3 to wire for ceiling fans and swap recessed lighting fixtures for a pendant fixture. The crew on site was Dan and Jon, and they were training a 3rd electrician (it was his first day). My conclusion with Gen3 is that you get what you pay for. They are certainly expensive compared to other electricians, but they have higher standards. The work was completed within the day as promised, to a high level of quality, and Dan communicated well with me throughout the day. Considering the amount of drywall dust, they cleaned up well.
My only complaint is that the 3rd tech was being trained to patch drywall for the first time in my house, resulting in some poor quality patches compared to those done by Dan. I fully understand that I hired an electrician and not a drywall contractor, but I would recommend Gen3 does some shop training of new staff first. Otherwise, I am satisfied (despite having an empty wallet!)

I called to get a ceiling fan installed on a high ceiling and a chandelier installed. The first appointment was rescheduled due to them being inundated with emergency calls during a heat wave (it was 100 degrees). I understood and got another appointment.
I got a text with my technicians name and photograph and he also called me to say he was on his way. He was super nice and polite and gave me the estimate. It was a little bit more than I thought it was going to be, but I agreed to the work.
Evan did excellent work quickly. He also installed a dimmer switch and a 3 speed switch for the ceiling fan.

Evan P and Matt came to my house with masks and shoe covers to do a quote on fixing an outdoor electrical outlet and a broken light in my bathroom. Site visit was $79, to be counted toward the total work if it reached $250 or more. They were quick and transparent about their assessments and the work involved, and were able to make the fixes after getting my approval. They also answered some terribly ignorant questions on my part very patiently. From start to finish it took maybe an hour. The woman in the office who scheduled the appointment (I think her name was Cindy?) was also very clear and transparent with procedures and was very helpful with scheduling.

My experience with electrician, Thomas, was certainly positive and the outcome excellent. I’m selling my house and a number of electrical items had been noted in an inspection. Approximately 2 years ago I had outlets and a video doorbell installed, as well as my porch light replaced. The young men that came were professional, friendly and courteous. They prepared the areas to minimize debris, patched the wall when needed and cleaned up after themselves. They came within the stated timeframes or called if there was a delay.
However, some miscommunications left me ultimately dissatisfied (with a doorbell that didn't ring and a circuit box needing attention). My overall feelings were mixed and I did not leave a review. I had someone else look at the circuit box and bought a home assistant to go with the bell. However, the visitor announcements were at times inconsistent or delayed. In a recent moment of frustration with the videobell, (after missing yet another person at the door), I e-mailed the company with my version of what I felt was duplicity on their part. Dottie responded and after a few weeks of phone tag, patiently listened to me. She offered not only an apology and possible explanation, but also an opportunity to rectify the issue-Kevin, the service man, was here within a week! I now have a doorbell that actually rings-hopefully no more missed deliveries/visitors. I am amazed at this level of customer service and can really leave a positive review. The service was good and the customer service went above and beyond!

Recently had the pleasure of dealing with Gen 3 over the phone and Evan P. in our home. Evan was very professional, and respectful of our home and safety during the COVID crisis. He worked with me in explaining what would need to be done to accomplish what we asked for versus some additional work he suggested we do. Additionally, he was flexible in doing some additional work I thought of midway through his job, like installing our nest camera outside and running an additional coax outlet than we had planned on. Everything looks great, and we're very satisfied with the work.
One more thing I really appreciated. Evan was very upfront with what he was and was not comfortable doing. We had originally planned to run a wire behind a feature wall which is tiled, and rather than go ahead and run it, he let us know he didn't think he would be able to cut the tile, and worked with me in finding another area to run the wire to accomplish the same end goal.

Our furnace was having issues for years and finally stopped working. We were under the impression that it would have to be replaced entirely. Called Generation 3 Electric due to an emergency situation. This is my first time using this company. Spoke with Cindy who was very sympathetic and helpful - she had someone at my place in less than an hour and a half to review the situation. Their technician, James, came back a second time to do a more thorough analysis of the problem and we identified a number of issues that needed to be resolved. I ended up hiring them to install a new electrical panel and new breakers within my condo. I couldn't be more pleased with Gen3 Electric, which sent out Thomas to diagnose and fix an electrified antique lantern in front of my Old City house. Gen3 had a different tech attempt to fix it earlier in the year, but that tech was unable to find the problem. Then Covid happened and we were away from the home for several months. When we returned this summer I decided to give them another shot at it and am so glad I did. Thomas had a list of possible fixes and went down the line, and voila, there was light in my lantern. Best of all they did not charge me for this second visit. I highly recommend Gen3 as a company with integrity and that can schedule quickly when contacted :-)

I came home to no heat last Monday, right before the massive drop in temperatures was supposed to occur. A quick Google search and I found GEN3. Cyndy from customer service took the call and she was fantastic. Even though it was close to closing time she got a technician to my house to assess the issue. GEN3 immediately texted a photo of the technician to expect. Ken arrived and was really helpful, he assessed the furnace and also took a look at my hot water heater when I found it leaking in addition to the furnace issue. I received an immediate estimate and GEN3 made arrangements to have someone come out the next day. Stephen assisted with timing and payments and the technicians Jim & Abbi were polite, neat and did a great job, ensuring both our heat and hot water were working before the freeze. Everyone I dealt with from Customer Service to the Technicians were friendly, professional and thorough.
Update:
I had to have addition work done on my furnace and was very happy with my technician John Yeomans. He was professional, explained the problem thoroughly and went out of his way to find the part required.
When the work was completed, John also spent the time to review and provide me an estimate on future work I am planning.
