I am very pleased with Obie Comfort Solutions for executing the turnkey installation of replacing my old boiler and water heater tanks with a new high efficiency Viessmann Boiler and Indirect water heater tank. It was a very good experience from start to finish from quote to Invoice. Their workmanship was of top quality and tied small loose ends without batting an eyelid to ensure that the customer was happy. In fact, the owner Obie made it a point to visit and inspect the installation. I would be happy to recommend Obie Comfort Solutions to anyone.

I think I am lucky that I finally chose Obie Comfort from my 6 quotes of different companies. How can you do business in such a great way! Very quick response from my first call and then the technician Anthony came to my place on time. He looks young but experienced and knowledgeable. I just pointed at my AC and he knew what I was going to say and what the problem is. He explained everything I am concerned and gave me a proposal in two days. I am very happy with the first round estimation and evaluation. Then just in one week, today, I have my new AV, super quiet equipment with high efficiency. The installation team: Macgyver and his team members, they are amazing. (I am so sorry that my attic where they work is too hot. Poor working environment.) I guess he must have double majors : engineering and art. My condenser location is tricky and other companies’ design is not that good. The AC pipe will extend along my sidings and roofs and jump over the gutter. Look at the pictures that Macgyver did. Clean, and neat. They are artists, aren’t they? They are so professional and they clean up everything when they finish the work. Much cleaner than it was. Now I get my new AC just before the super hot week. I have already referred them to my friends and neighbors. Good staff, great service!

I saw a recommendation for Obie on a town FB page. I called them and they added me to a same day if possible list. Their technician had a cancellation and was there that afternoon! The repair was done and an improvement was made for better functionality and maintenance. Santiago was very professional and left everything in perfect condition. I called the office after the appointment and their customer service is excellent. I was very pleased with Obie Comfort Solutions. I had another appointment with Obie Comfort Solutions. This time Warren was the technician. I was extremely pleased with his service. Again, the customer support on the phone is excellent, too. I can definitely recommend Obie—they put my mind at ease with their knowledgeable service and explanations.

Right from the beginning the work - getting a quote to the final installation to after service, they have been just awesome. Danilo was my point of contact during the installation and was leading the project. He ensured that all of my questions were answered and gave me a complete walkthrough of the system, how to use the thermostats and other such details. Can't thank him enough. I used Obie for the first time to install 2 new heat pumps and thermostats. Their office was very helpful prior to installation in working with Mass Save to register for the rebates and loan. On installation day the crew was professional and clean. They put down tarp in all areas where they worked and used plastic shoe covers also. When the installation was done, they took quite a bit of time making sure I understood the new thermostats and equipment. I know nothing about HVAC but to me the installation seemed very neat and clean. Everything is functioning perfectly and would definitely use them again.

Jason the tech showed up on time. He was very polite and professional as usual. He performed what Obie called a “minor repair”. He literally connected a wire (which was not connected originally by Obie 8 years ago) for the second floor fan which took him about five minutes. He checked with his office for any charges as this was a very simple thing. The instruction came back to charge $83 for connecting the wire and on top of their dispatch fee which is $103 (after plan discount). The service was not after hours, and not during weekend. I have expressed my disappointment to the customer service person directly and she did nothing. I have been dealing with Obie for 8 years. They installed the whole systems originally. In my opinion, considering the nature of what the tech did (connecting a wire) and the time that I have been a customer with them, they should have not charged for that and charge only for their dispatch fee. I leave the judgment of this matter to whom is reading this review.

I can't say enough good things about Obie Comfort Solutions! I had been left high and dry (or I should say damp and sticky) by another company, who was to replace my oil system with a Bosch hydroelectric air handler, Rinnai LP gas on demand hot water heater, and Bosch heat pump. After speaking with Obie about my situation, he had his team come in and finish up the incomplete installation, connecting up the thermostats, reinstalling two zones, replacing parts in my Bosch heat pump, running new refrigerant lines, and working with the Bosch Corp US folks to get much of the Bosch work covered under my warranty. Everyone at Obie Comfort Solutions was just great. So professional, responsive, kind, and really helpful. We spent last summer hot and sticky. This summer, we're cool and happy. Thank you, thank you!

Ordered heat pump installation via Mass Save. Even after the discount they are among the most expensive installers. I decided to go with them for they had Bosch equipment and are located nearby. The troubles started with installation. First things first - the promptly removed the insulation that has been installed just a week ago by another Mass Save contractor, and placed the the air block straight on the attic beams. Obviously, that leads to violation of the insulation code, dumps away the money I just paid to the Mass Save contractor, and leaves me with non-insulated attic - the thing proved to be very costly during the winter season. I asked them to raise the air block, putting it on a small supports and put the insulation beneath it. Their answer was: no one complained before. I insisted. They agreed to discuss the matter with the management. It required a call from me, too, to sort thing out. Next thing, the pipes to the external block were mounted in a such a way that I could not use the walkway near the house, nor I can put the trash bin on it usual place. The photo shows how it was after they bend it a bit, but it required for their supervisor to come and command to redo the piping. It seems that the crew, slightly vexed by me checking their job, did not checked the airflow through the house, and two rooms had no air flow income at all. The installation took 8 days instead of 4 days. And the last two days it was their supervisor who was here fixing the flaws left by the crew. The supervisor is a great, friendly, cooperating, always ready to explain person - I'd highly recommend him if he about to open his own busyness. And as a cherry on the cake, OBIE did not pull the permits and would not if not for me having the habit to check the permits from time to time. It required few calls to OBIE office and then to Mass Save supervisor to make them move. Last thing: the crew does not speak English except for the one person. Not a big deal - just keep that in mind. Would I recommend OBIE? I do not know. You can not trust them, you will have to always check everything they doing and all of this for a significantly higher price compared to competitors. On the other hand, they have access to Bosch equipment which is something important to me. All in one - pay a lot and check every single thing OBIE had to do on their own. Their management seems to not care: after the job is "done" you'll get the "how did we do" email, but there will be no reaction, actually.

I used Obie to install a Mitsubishi mini-split ductless system and have also had follow-up maintenance with them. Both Jeff, on the install, and Gustavo on my follow-ups were on time, communicating clearly on what they'd do and what costs would be, and they did a great job recapping. They're also had the best prices of all Mitsubishi Diamond contractors, so an easy choice to pick them.

Tons of visits to fix an issue they didn't cause. Techs were very nice and helpful but the end result was another company just looking at my furnace and telling me what they could see it needed before Obie could fix the issue. I actually had the other company on the phone with the Obie tech here and you could see a light bulb go off on the Obie techs head when the other company explained what was going on with the system... I had some gaps in my maintainence subscription plans and the service manager called me immediatley and resolved it right on the call within 5 mins. I really appreciate the quick and prompt turnaround. They service and inspect the HVAC systems in a very detailed manner and provide us a very good summary report explaning each and every detail on the report. I had my AC maintainence done with Gustavo and he was technically very good, explained all he saw with the system and gave all the necessary recommendations and suggestions. I had a whole home ducted heat pump system installed. Danilo, Oscar, Teo and one man (who willingly crawled through the tiny attic space), whose name I don't have, did a great job listening to my needs and meeting them. They were prompt, tidy and courteous. Victor, Paulo & Cassio installed my heat pump water heater. They also were professional. Unlike many other reviews for many other companies, this is not a purchased review. Oneish hour of maintenance work to replace a hot water heater pressure release valve cost $757. This is the fee after my member savings of $190. This is absurdly expensive for the labor because parts would be maybe $140 tops. There is a lot of overhead included in running an efficient company of such a size, for instance the service technicians maintain stock to be able to perform such repairs on site and without having to return with parts. The Obie customer service reps and back of house staff are professional and courteous. It is company policy to not provide a breakdown of costs on the invoice, they instead charge a flat rate, which is fine. The work was completed and I am overwhelmingly disappointed with the disproportionality in cost to time/parts.

Obie Comfort Solutions did a great job on our air conditioning installation. Obie had a can-do attitude about where to put the air ducts because we have forced hot water heat and we needed to install the air vents and ducts. Our contemporary style house allowed Obie to suggest creative ways to connect the ducts to multiple rooms and his carpentry team did a great job boxing in the equipment and giving it a seamless look. The team painted, cleaned up and was courteous. Vicki was excellent at helping us navigate the MASS SAVE rebate and financing programs. The heat pump allowed us to get a rebate on a better unit, and gives us an extra heat source for this coming winter. Only request is for better communication when schedules changed during the install. I would highly recommend Obie and his team especially for a retrofit a/c installation. Update December, 2022: Gustavo M. performed our annual maintenance and did a stellar job. He explained the work he was doing and investigated a minor issue. He changed the filter we had bought ahead of time. Good communication about costs of service and the optional monthly plans available. Another good experience with an Obie employee. Thank you!

The Obie team installed heat pumps in our home and my wife and I could be happier. Tony was responsive, answered all my questions, and the entire process with him was smooth. Magaiver oversaw the job once it started and was great. He spent hours making sure everything was setup and functioned as it should. I couldn’t have been happier with the install crew. They decided to go though some walls and use my chimney. This hide most of the wires and tubes, including my mansard roof which was my biggest fear going into it. The electrical crew was great too. Not only did they get everything hooked up and powered, they installed an outdoor outlet for me! My house is over 100 years old and had no exterior outlets. So this was an awesome surprise. Paulo and Cassio did a great job replacing my water heater as well. Overall I can’t recommend Obie enough. Their estimate was great, their work was top-notch, and their cleanup was the best out of any service I’ve ever used. I will absolutely use them again and hope more people choose to as well.

We had Obie install an Aprilaire whole-home humidifier. I found the sales member, Tony, to be very knowledgeable and professional. Their price was reasonable for the work completed. Update 7/26/22 excellent service provided by Gustavo who came for a maintenance service on three HVAC units and diagnosed an issue with one needing repair. Extremely helpful, thorough, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Every technician from Obie over the years has also been excellent. One of the nicest teams you will deal with in any business. Original review: Second house for which we’re using Obie for hvac. After such a great experience with Obie in the last house I didn’t hesitate to call them for this house which has much older systems. David arrived at the beginning of his arrival window. He was fantastic—very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and clever. He wasn’t stingy with his time or his explanations. He gave us practical advice and excellent service. The fee was fair, and his advice and work were worth it. There were some unusual challenges in this big old house and David took them all in stride, in good humor and with expertise and diligence. I have just recently installed two central AC units (including air handlers, condensers, electric upgrade and thermostats) in my house by Obie. They are absolutely the best and I am very happy and satisfied with the result. All the Obie people I have worked with are very nice, hard working and easy to work with. I must first mention their lead, MacGyver, who not only has a wide knowledge and gives guidance, but also has done many key works during the process. In addition, he has also patiently answered all my questions and gave me many helpful suggestions. He is truly a must-have-person in such a company. Eugen and Cole, the electricians, have worked tirelessly and some times very late until dark (together with MacGyver). The wires are hidden nicely in the walls and the new 200 amp box looks great. Their works are superior. Rony and his HVAC team, who installed the air handlers and condensers, have overcome some unexpected difficulties working in the small/limited space, and managed the pipes/wires very well. Alex and his patching team made the concrete bases and repaired the wall, nice work! I must also thank Tony, without his prompt response and patient explanations (one evening we were exchanging emails for two hours until 11:30pm) I wouldn't start the project. Priscila, thank you for the coordinates that made the process smoothly. BTW, I have consulted a few companies for the job. I do think Obie is the best solution in the neighborhood if you have an old house. If there is anything that I am not fully satisfied, is that the process was longer than the planed/expected. Maybe it was because the situation became more difficult than initially expected. Well, blame the old house!

Today the a/c received its routine service from Santiago A., and went very smoothly. He arrived on time, worked efficiently and neatly. Great service from Obie. Approximately 1 and a half year post installation, I am happy to report that service was excellent when I called to report a message from the thermostat that the furnace "might be having a problem" sending heat and the temperature had been decreasing for the past two hours. (Of course, it was after hours at the beginning of a weekend. )The answering service advised me of applicable service charges and I received a callback within the hour, and a technician was scheduled to come the same evening. Roderigo arrived within the hour, promptly sorted out the problem and clearly explained what he had found and fixed. He was very professional.

Throughout the experience which took several weeks and multiple trips by the installers, communication was sometimes good and sometimes not-so-good. They put in a Bryant Heat Pump with Air Conditioning, it works great. I look forward to February when the outside air gets up to 33-35 degrees and I use no oil during the day. I can call the oil company to stop delivers until November and I have a 1/2 tank of oil to start the season. One year the only came twice and I still had half a tank for the following season. I thank Obie for that. Service is great too. They come right away, job gets down right and quickly. I just had an electronic part that controls everything that normally wears out after 5 or 6 years. The rep know what the problem was and fixed it immediately. He was great too. It is now 10 years as an Obie CS customer and the system works great. I did have a minor issue Friday morning, before a major Nor’Easter and Obie sent a service tech within minutes and fixed it. I thought I would not see a tech for a few days. Obie CS is the best. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained it clearly to me, and set to work fixing it, taking as long as necessary to ensure the system was working back to normal. (Side note- I especially appreciated the fact that he covered his work shoes with indoor-safe covers to avoid tracking dirt and other debris into my house where I have young children. I've been a customer for several years. I pay the monthly fee for maintenance and although it is painful each month to pay, I am grateful each year that my heating and two air condition units are running smoothly and efficiently. The technician (Santiago Aguirre) is very respectful of me as a person, if not a little formal. And he was respectful of my home in terms of keeping it clean and undamaged as he walks through it with his large and heavy bag of tools. He established trust from the very beginning, so I felt that I didn't need to watch him the whole time he is working to make sure things didn't get purposefully broken and/or stolen. I think Obie employees can be more trusted than even some of my relatives and friends. I liked that he had high tech tools and even apps to monitor and test my AC unit. But I also wonder why the manufacturer doesn't build these into tools the home owner can use on their own. A $12 part (on eBay) needed to be replaced and I was charged about $130 for parts and labor for it. But at least it was done for me, and I didn't risk getting electrocuted. A nicer way would have been for Obie to replace cheap parts like this for a lot less since they were already on site anyways. Even free for parts under $20 or so. But that is not the way life works anymore. They did identify a major issue with my basement AC and were smart enough to keep the breaker off when they left to prevent me from injury and risk. I am awaiting a quote to have it fixed and suspect it is going to be very expensive. This is for some filter that the manufacturer makes almost impossible for the homeowner to change on their own. Again, not nice of the manufacturer, and not the fault of Obie. The far more important thing is that Obie was here and found the issue, before it could have got dangerous and even more expensive to fix. Lastly, the Obie home base staff plays an important role in the whole appointment. They call me to zero in on the arrival time and that is very helpful to me. And they conduct surveys to obtain feedback. I am a happy customer. Thanks for a job well done!

Updated 12/28/18: We were able to work through the initial issues that we had and ended choosing Obie to install our new system. We ended up going with an LG heat pump solution with three zones. It is our backup heating system in the winter and will be used for A/C in the summer time. I do have to say that the installation went better than I expected. The team/s were professional, hard working, extremely clean, and very responsive. I would recommend Obie to anyone that asked and plan on using them for other projects in the near future. Had Obie out to my house as we are looking at replacing/upgrading our existing heating/cooling system. The initial meeting was good, the owner was very knowledgeable and stated that we would have a quote within a day or two. This was a month and a half ago and 3 calls into customer service asking for a status and I still haven't heard anything back. It's disappointing as I had heard good things about the company.

Recently my AC stopped working and I contacted Obie Comfort solution. They are always extremely professional and set clear expectations when it comes to available appointments. Danilo was quick to diagnose the issue and confirmed that I wanted to go ahead with the replacement before he did anything. They also called a couple of days later to check that everything was working smoothly. A pleasant experience.

Blake was super professional. He shared some bad news but i felt like my system was going to be well taken care of. He was willing to show me what was wrong with the system. Had taken a picture for me. Flame sensor and ignitor needs to be replaced, gasket is cracked. He did assure me it would be safe for now. Obie Comfort Solutions is fantastic! I have given them high grades in the past because I found them always to be readily available, on time and very pleasant to deal with. However they were never really tested. The first real test has now come. Their tech made a small error during maintenance of the heating system. The system continued to work but there was a risk that at some time in the future, if it failed, it would be difficult to fix. What was the response of the management? They replaced our 11 year old Viessmann boiler with a brand new one at almost no cost to us. We are incredibly impressed!

Older review below from 2019. 26 year old AC unit and Obie Comfort Solutions technician, Andrey Camargo helped me get some more time out of it without pushing me into a big expense of buying a new unit this year. New homeowners in Metrowest and we called Obie Comfort Solutions & explained the unit was running but not blowing any cold air. The company sent Andrey to our house, whom I found very professional and took time to not only explain what was wrong with my unit (besides being just old), Andrey gave me a brief lesson on why the unit was failing to blow cold air, how he was going to recharge it and my options going forward in regards to a replacement and estimated cost. Andrey worked fast and prior to leaving, showed me the on/off switch outside so I was aware I had one (I did not) should the unit pipe freeze up. This happened right before the heatwave over the 4th July holidays and we are beyond grateful for our ice cool house. Thank you, Andrey for your honesty and professional demeanor. I have no doubt we will need a whole new AC unit soon and we will 100% call Obie Comfort Solutions for our replacement after our 5 star treatment thus far.

When we turned on our system for the first time this summer we had an error flashing on the units. I did what I was told to do previously, but the next morning the error code returned. I called OBIE at 7 am when they opened and they said someone could come between 8-10 that day. David showed up very near 8 am and figured out the fairly quickly what the issue was. Andrey a technician at Obie came to my house to diagnose and help with heating issues I was having with my Mitsubishi mini split Hyper-heating system I had installed recently by Obie. Today, 5/24/21, Rodrigo came to help me with being able to turn on the A/C. Apparently when it was set up it was only partially completed as the thermostat and A/C wiring had been left unconnected. Perhaps those technicians intended to come back and forgot, but that is not in Obie’s favor as there have been many hot days when I was left powerless to turn on the A/C. He not only exemplified the true meaning of "Customer Service" but went above and beyond his job description to find the cause of our problem. He seemed to intuitively know there was something else other than old thermostats causing our A/C compressor’s on/off delay issues, and he didn’t quit until he found the problem - a minuscule spot on the main board. Danilo was again very on time and friendly. He even did some part of work in his van to not make noise/mess around the house. I also registered in their membership program so that I use them in the future and also benefit from their discount. The only thing that they can improve on is their office representatives communication. I didn't hear from them until I called them myself. Also she didn't mention first time customer coupon and membership benefits until I asked about them. I'd expect them to be more proactive about it. They should give this discount to the first time customers even if the person doesn't ask for it (That would definitely give a positive first impression).

They didn't even charge me extra when it took longer than expected to install. I also had them check out an air handler/condenser A/C unit that my previous HVAC company had advised replacing after doing the spring A/C service (they said it was in "rough shape, should be replaced soon"). Obie installed Central AC and a custom air filtration unit in our condo. The work was quick, professional and so far has held up nicely. We use the air filtration every day of the year. When they did the ducting, they worked with me for a couple of hours to find just the right pathways that would reduce the amount of disruption to existing walls, closets etc. The paths we found meant harder work for them, but we didn't lose a single inch of closet space, and didn't have to repair a single inch of drywall. They helped me with my MassSave application. When it was time to install they couldn't start on the day they intended to start, however, the following day they sent an extra crew in order to ensure that the job is completed on time. They did a fantastic job! I do also like the fact that they clean up the place everyday after their job is done. Come summer they scheduled a complimentary A/C tune up. Danilo stopped by. He inspected the system, ensured that he addressed a minor question I had about zone controllers and tuned the A/C's. He showed up on time left the place clean.

Obie has been great in helping me with my old lady furnace. It wasn't starting at first, and Rodrigo S came by the first time, helping me get it started. It wasn't until the second time it died that I found out that I need to get a whole new furnace.... Danilo Oliveira was also great when he came out to fix it the second time it broke down. He showed me how my heat exchange was cracked in three different spots, and he also made sure to ask if I had carbon monoxide alarms in the house as I said I needed the heat on (even with the cracks) for my animals. We really appreciated it. Thanks Obie! Old Review On the day of our original appointment we were called and told that we had to be rescheduled due to a conflict. We took it in stride and rescheduled. They were able to make the next appointment. We had a whole house humidifier installed, took about 4 hours. Rodrgio and Danillio explained how it worked. After they left we went out. When we came back out 3 hours later we noticed that the pipes they installed were leaking water. Not a big deal. Found something to contain the water and called Obie to let them know. I was told that someone would be out the next day between 1pm-3pm to fix the issue. The window passed and no one came. Called Obie at 3pm and they said a dispatcher would call back,.Got a call from the on call person at 4 and said they had just finished on a previous call ( in Boston, we are in Framingham) and would be out in 40mins. I asked what the deal was and he said he just saw the appointment a few mins before he called. How can this be when I was told the day before someone would be between 1-3? He tried to explain the scheduling process but I was really just frustrated. In any case. This company has been fin so far with routine maintenance but that's about it. If you are looking to have work done or need on call work I would shop around.

Hired Obie to solve a complicated poor air distribution problem with my attic HVAC system in a home I recently purchase. Obie was not the installer of the original system. They gave me a quote to increase the size of the duct work. rearrange some of it and bring it all up to code. Rearranging the HVAC unit was also a possibility. Their quote was fair and I hired them. They performed all the work, but decided that rearranging the HVAC unit was not needed. While I appreciated all the work they did, I felt the system was still not distributing air evenly. They came back and rearranged the HVAC unit, turning it 45 degrees and redoing some of the ductwork. I'm very happy with the outcome and their professionalism. I highly recommend them.
