Nicholson is a top notch organization from top to bottom. We replaced a 22 year old heating/AC system with a heat pump and furnace. There were several major issues that came up before and during the installation and their team was able to resolve each issue to our satisfaction. Andre, Joe, Justin, and all the installers were extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly and clean. They were very patient with explaining the options and answering our questions. Amanda, the install coordinator, was very responsive in terms of scheduling the installs, getting our requested work crew assembled, handling payment and inspections, and getting a defective thermostat and followup work scheduled and installed. We have had other repair work with them in the past and and they similarly handled each repair to our satisfaction. We will definitely use them again for all our future HVAC needs and highly recommend them.

They were great to work with from the original quote (provided same day), detailed and transparent pricing, a smooth and efficient install, as well as thorough follow up to be sure everything was done properly. Shane was great. He ran through all options from rebuild/repair to replacement of a toilet. We went with replacement and he was able to pick up the new toilet and install it all before 11 AM. We also had a problem with one of our A/C units and while this wasn’t Shane’s responsibility he took the time to look at the unit inside and out to give us his assessment. Very knowledgeable, personable and thorough. We’ll ask for him again.

Brian B and Daniel were here for 3 days and reworked much of the piping as our last system was not well installed. They are top notch company and really do care about the workmanship. Mike was great. First time I can recall that a service call not only showed up a few minutes before the low side of the estimated time, but on the second day as well, never happens to me. If 1-4 range I usually get them arriving 4:10ish While the gas water heater replacement was not cheap, Mike was professional, explained things clearly, presented options and did a nice install. Easy to talk with and appreciate it getting it done well. Based on this experience I’d definitely use Nicholson again

I have been working with Nicholson Plumbing for a couple of months to change from a leaking vented A/C system in my house to a mini-split heat pump system. I also had my oil heater and tankless hot water replaced. Steve G. was the first person to walk me through the issues I was having and recommended outside vendors for items not performed by Nicholson. He even called the outside vendors for me and waited to make sure I got the issues straight. Steve is very conversant in HVAC details. Joe P, Andre and crew did a fantastic job installing the Mitsubishi mini-split system. Brian B. installed the new heating system and immediately dealt with a defective part. Brian was very knowledgeable. Matt helped me navigate issues as they arose and ensured flexible turn around times for me. Andrew deftly handled electrical issues during the process. Amanda is super responsive and efficient ensuring proper staffing, answered my questions, registered equipment and quickly produced documents that I needed. Our hot water heater decided to give us problems, late on a Sunday afternoon. We put in a call to Nicholson, and with in an hour their technician Kyle arrived. He assessed the problem rather quickly, retrieved all the parts, and everything was repaired within a few hours. Kyle was very friendly and professional. We have had Nicholson repair/replace a couple of things in house and have been very happy with their work. Will count on Nicholson for all future plumbing projects.

I woke up to my furnace blowing cold air on a day that planned to be around 0 deg. C. I called Nicholson Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning at 5am for emergency service, and a pleasant human answered the phone, who told me that someone would contact me within the hour. Someone did, and I was quickly given an appointment between 10-12 that day. Steve showed up--he was pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained the state of my equipment, gave me many options, and he clearly explained all of them. He fixed the problem very quickly, and set me up with an appointment to speak with someone about my outdated systems.

We had a great first experience with Nicholson when they replaced our water filtration system. We asked that they return for a more complicated dirty pipe repairs, and we did have some difficulties. After a conversation with a supervisor, a new plumber named Kyle came out and he was FANTASTIC! Nicholson is lucky to have Kyle, who made everything right again. Pricing is on the higher side, but worth it for the attention to detail and reliability that Kyle provided. We want him to be our plumber now! Thank you Kyle!!

Nicholson has done a few major projects on our new home in the last month, including upgrading our entire electrical panel and installing a mini-split system. Moe just finished with my mini-split installation. He not only finished 2 days early, but he was incredibly communicative every step of the way. He made sure I was involved in every decision, and that I was happy with each aspect of the installation process. I would recommend Nicholson to every single friend and family member, and if you are doing any HVAC work, Moe is your guy. Moe had a n assistant named John, and they were a great team. Instead of just approaching us with the cookie cutter options, of remove the old and replace with new. Nicholson gave us plenty of options and worked with our budget. Shane was FABULOUS. He listened to our concerns, the major one being that a relatively new shower installed in 2017 has malfunctioned 3 times in 4 year so that the water would not turn off. Shane went above and beyond and found a few problems with the installation. He even spoke with a technician from the manufacturer. He never made us feel he had to hurry up and go to the next job. He could have tried to do a quick, creative fix but explained what the correct approach was and why that was his preference. He explained everything to us as the repairs progressed. He was very pleasant and polite. I would request Shane to do any additional plumbing work in our home.

We had our furnace fail and called Nicholson to schedule a diagnostic and repair. They were able to get us in within 24 hours and were on time to our morning appointment. The service tech quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to conduct the repair quickly. He was very profession, wore booties and a mask, and was respectful of our property. He also fully explained the issues and didn’t try to push additional repairs beyond what was necessary. Price seemed reasonable as well. Will definitely contact them again for services.

The estimate and install processes both went great. Kyle, the plumber listened to what we were trying to resolve, worked with me to be flexible, and ultimately found the best resolution to fix our water issues with a solid sump pump install that meets all needs at a price we could afford. Overpriced for the work recieved in my opinion... ; Charged me $1000 to replace a cast iron pipe I had with PVC piping as well as installing a flange. I was told the flange needed to be a certain distance off the ground so I gave them 1 of the tiles I planned on using in the bathroom and the tile can barely fit on one side of the flange and cannot fit under any of the other 3 sides ( if it was a square ) Additionally the flange wasn't even leveled... when I pointed this out I was told that I can unscrew some of the nails that are there to loosen and add the tile.(I'm sorry... I thought I paid 1000 to have this installed properly but I guess not?)... More than. Likely will not be using them again... If they job is going to be done poorly I might as well do it myself...

When you leave a home knowing to expect zero-ish temperatures and start settling into a nice 80-degree place for a week, the last thing you want is a text from your smart thermostat telling you that it's 43 degrees in your home. It happens. I called Nicholson plumbing. They sent a wizard within an hour who not only figured out what was wrong, but he filmed the process of fixing it and sent it to me. Then, he called me and explained what he did. My house is warm again. I can be calm and enjoy the vacation. When our existing AC died in the middle of a heatwave, we called Nicholson for a quote. Conor visited our home promptly and looked at our options. He provided details of the MassSave program and explained which products were covered by this program. He gave us two choices based on our needs and his recommendations. Unfortunately, the system that we selected went out of stock due to supply chain issues. Conor was able to find a solution for us within the hour that still allowed us to proceed with our scheduled install date and without compromising our end result. We were very happy with the level of communication and support from Conor throughout the process, and with his follow up post-installation. On the day of install, everything went smoothly and our new AC was up and running efficiently as expected.

Nicholson replaced our Carrier A/C with a new high-efficiency Infinity unit. First-off, their representative spent the time needed to provide a thoughtful proposal with clear options, which considered our specific needs and opinions. After agreement it took a couple of weeks to begin, but it was well worth the wait. Their installation technician was more professional, courteous, and competent than all others I have seen during my 40 years of being a home owner. He went out of his way to provide education and explanation before, during, and after the project. In addition to a first-rate installation of the exterior and interior two-zone system and thermostats, he and the electricians made several little, unexpected improvements and upgrades in wiring, electrical switches, and space efficiency, among others. They didn't take shortcuts. Everything about the installation is first-rate and better than before. I only wish that I had used Nicholson last year when my other A/C unit failed, since the installation of a similar Carrier Infinity unit by a different HVAC contractor was less considered, not as well done, and only OK.

Nicholson Plumbing provided outstanding service from start to finish (when the company we'd used for years, did not)! After learning the plumbing company we'd been working with could not do the work same day, we got their absurdly overpriced quote (more than 3K) to replace the 5 year old water heater they'd installed that was still under warranty, and dealing with water damage because that company had "forgotten to plug the pan" installed when we bought and worked with them, we were very disappointed and knew we would not hire them again. I reached out to Nicholson Plumbing/Heating at about 1 pm. They arrived a short time later, replaced the hot water heater same day (absolutely no problem pulling a permit - something our previous company said they couldn't do), we purchased the expansion tank and 10 year warranty from Nicholson for HALF the price the other company quoted. We could not be more pleased with Nicholson plumbing's work! Their tech was fully knowledgable, explained the work he proposed clearly, was respectful of our home and had a no-nonsense demeanor of get the job done and done right! He did confirm a water pressure issue and came back next day to do that work. We fully intend to work with Nicholson Plumbing and Heating for any and all future needs. My husband's very capable but we're at the point in our lives where we prefer to hire some work done. We also try to hire "gold standard" companies to do that work. We were aware the company we had worked with was known for charging more but initially we thought they would be worth it, especially given the more complex electronic systems involved for instance in a heating system. We had many problems in the first 18 months with the heating systems previously installed until one of their tech's finally arrived to explain it had not been calibrated properly on any of the previous visits. We will be using Nicholson's going forward.

The past few months have been a time at our household and my Mother's household for HVAC and plumbing services. I cannot say enough about the staff at Nicholson! Everyone we have dealt with has been very professional, responsive, and informative. We had Kyle come to our house today for a heating issue. Besides addressing the issue we called about, he also provided education on our heating system components and basic troubleshooting. Same for "big Mike" in the plumbing department. He spent the time to explain what we can do ourselves to maintain my Mother's water heater and provided a clear explaination as to why water in a particular shower in the house was not heating up to par along with the "nuts and bolts" to fix this type of issue. Explainations always made sense and demystified a field that I have no background in. We also utilized Nicholson recently for an install of a condenser and water heater (our old ones were ancient) and all the people involved in that job were top notch too! This was my first time using Nicholson Plumbing/Heating. I'm purchasing a home and the home inspector found an issue with my heating. Jeff from Nicholson arrived and explained how to properly use the dual damper unit/dual thermostat for this home. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and clarified my concerns. There was a $75. evaluation fee but it was well worth it. He further explained what I needed to know regarding keeping my heating and a/c in good working condition with no obligation or pressure to commit to any maintenance at this time. I asked him for several quotes and he provided them. Apart from excellent service, he wore plastic booties, wore a mask and kept an appropriate distance from me. I highly recommend using their service.

The company seems to use good materials and equipment, but they’ve already had to come out twice to fix really basic mistakes, one that the original installer (not named here) wouldn’t even admit to being a possibility when I pointed it out.

I am including above all the services done during two appointment calls completed by Brian D. (today’s with an assistant). The first call was awhile back - a long needed replacement of all the pipes under kitchen sink. He also replaced a small leak from a pipe in cellar and installed a new upstairs toilet. This visit he replaced both bathrooms’ shower/tub fixtures and one sink faucet fixture. We have an old house and plumbing work is not always easy. Brian puts great effort into meticulous estimates with recommendations for fixtures, equipment. He informs you about any anticipated issues, but works to get around these especially if it’s just to upgrade functionality - as he noted doing a facelift, not a renovation. Every time the work has been done properly with care, no need for a call back, and he leaves the place spotless - respecting you and your home. Cannot recommend him enough. Brian provided an estimate to replace the kitchen sink, fixtures, and disposal and will be returning once I locate a contractor to put in a new countertop.

Over the last 3 days I had a new boiler and Hopwater heater installed. Wayne C. was the POC and main plumber for the job. He and the crew were on time every day of the job. Wayne always briefed my of the activates for the day and closed out the day with a heads up on what will happen the next day. He made sure he ran all his decisions by me before he committed to the work. It was obvious Wayne has been doing this for sometime and made the job appear easy. During the installation he made a few recommendations which made sense and he made it happen. In short Wayne and his entire crew(apprentice, electricians etc. did a bang up job. We had an 3T AC unit and attic air handler replaced with a new AC/Heat pump 4 months ago. Nicholson did a great job! Even though it was summer, they came out quickly to give us quotes. Anthony gave us many options and even set up a call on a Sunday to go through them with us. Cody and his team did did an excellent job on the installation. It was a hot day outside and especially in the attic and they never missed a beat. Their clean up was very good. He stayed to make sure we knew how system works and to set up the new thermostat. Amanda happily helped us through the MassSave rebate process. The system worked great in AC mode and now the more climate friendly heat pump is saving us a lot of oil. It was a good project overall and we would recommend Nicholson.

While I would never suggest this company to anyone, if you need to deal with them then Paul seems to be their only competent employee and he should be praised and rewarded for his good work.

Brian did a thorough check of our toilet which was beginning to rock back and forth due to a weakening seal. As the toilet was about 20+ years old, he provided dueling offers of repair versus replace and we took the latter. On a second trip he returned with Kyle and they ended up going through a crawl space to replace the flange and complete the installation! They noted the seat was not the slow shutter that was expected and offered to return and fix that free of charge, which they did. They were courteous, professional and forthcoming about the expenses and quotes. I would happily hire them again for future work and would encourage anyone needing plumbing work done to hire them as well.

Slava M. was the technician that came this morning. He was courteous and respectful and did a great job. My system is 5 years old, and he made a few recommendations to keep up on the furnace. He is the most detail oriented technician that I have worked with from Nicholson. He took his time to explain what he was doing and provide all kinds of tips and suggestions. Our experience with Nicholson HVAC was great from start to finish. Anthony helped us figure out all the options we had when we determined we needed to replace our current heating system and he was wonderful to work with! Connor came to provide an estimate to install central A/C in my home. After he surveyed my home he told me that there were rooms that the split system would not be suitable because of potential problems with draining the condensate as there was no access to an outside wall. He said that his company would not install equipment in those rooms and jeopardize the companies reputation. Since I wanted all my rooms to have A/C we did not go forward Nicolson. He understood and I appreciated his honesty. I believe that the companies culture starts at the top and that the employees take it seriously. Master Plumber Brian B. repaired 2 gas pipe leaks. He arrived within 30 minutes after my initial call to Nicholson after Eversource shut off gas, performed the necessary repairs and pressure tested everything and then promptly returned the following day to check repairs. He had to wait 3 hrs for plumbing inspector to arrive to sign off on repairs. Nicholson also installed new HVAC system 4 yrs ago and performs seasonal preventive maintenance checks on HVAC. Very happy with their service and the response by staff and especially Master Plumber Brian B with gas leaks was phenomenal.

Initially, I had an issue reaching a specific contact from the company that was recommended to me. But you can tell a lot about a company by how it handles complaints. And to Nicholson's credit, they did a great job. They acknowledged the shortcoming, and more importantly, promptly corrected the issue. The service team that came to resolve the issue was prompt, friendly, cleaned up perfectly after the job was finished, and followed all COVID-related safety protocols. My old whole house water filter cracked when i replaced the filter. Owned house 2 years, filter looks at least 10 years old. Booked same day appointment and Brian was able to come 3 hours before the quoted time window. Overall I would recommend this company to install a HVAC system. The technicians who installed kept everything looking neat and clean and are professional. HOWEVER, they were not properly licensed and resulted in a inspection fail. They fixed it immediately by a licensed plumber. This is how it's done throughout the HVAC industry. Twenty years prior, Victory Heating and AC, started a natural gas fire replacing the same system with a technician who had a certification in refrigeration only. No plumber to be seen. Good Luck

When I had a follow-up question about merits of using AC mode vs dehumidifier mode, Ian got back to me the next day and recommended which option to use for a given situation and why that was the better option.

Having worked together for so long and on so many projects, we had a couple of items to work through over time. The result being that he came back the next day with the required part to our tankless Hot Water Heater. Currently in the process of installing a heat pump. We started this process back in August and unfortunately, due to Covid and a very long backlog, we are still waiting on our heat pump. At first it felt as if Nicholson was very unresponsive and just giving lip service answers, but after more discussion they are giving they best answers that they are able to seeing as how they are receiving little information from the supplier. I also spoke to a different company and was told they would be able to have a heat pump installed within 2 weeks, so naturally I reached out to Nicholson and asked again why this other company could have parts so much quicker. Turns out the heat pump Nicholson is recommending/installing is stronger and substantially more efficient, which is incredibly appriciated. They are a knowledgeable company who tries to give their customers the best possible product. And they are worth the wait.

Our heating system died, and we contacted several different providers for suggestions. Nicholson got back to us the next day, and a day later sent someone to inspect the house and make offers. He was knowledgeable and provided a lot of information, and we decided to go with one of his suggestions. The system was installed a week later, and even though it was scheduled to take two days, it was completed in a day. However, there was a mistake in the installation that was not caught that day, which caused the system to malfunction the next day. We called, and another technician arrived less than two hours later and fixed the problem. Overall, very good.

This review is for the appraisal part of an HVAC replacement. Our current central air units are approaching 20 years old. We've had some issues in the past few years - always during a heatwave. So we are investigating replacement cost and getting quotes. Our appraiser Francis called and asked if it was OK to come earlier than planned. We agreed and he showed up right when he said he would. Walked through the house doing room measurements and went over basic options and giving us and idea of what the quotes would be for, such as adding a heat pump to supplement oil heat as an option. I'm giving 5 stars because we had absolutely no issues with the appraisal. We haven't decided to go with them yet (another quote in progress) but we have used them previously on an emergency repair last summer - also very happy with that work.

We had 5 Mitsubishi split unit system installed by Nicholson last fall, I waited for a year to write this review not only because of my busy schedules, but also because of the realization that a timely tested review might be more helpful. There were some hiccups in the installation, but I want to focus on the service and responsiveness provided by people in Nicholson from Mike the owner to many technicians I met. MIKE , you are outstanding! On some of the hottest days this summer, not only you sent your techs to my home to fix the AC problems many times, you showed up yourself one day unexpectedly after a service call by me, and fixed the problem right way. And when I expressed my concern over the fixed problem was associated with installation, and it might recur but we are running out of 1 year craftsman warranty, your statement " I will cover you one more year for this!" shows you are true trust -worthy professional ! Among those great technicians from Nicholson, I particularly want to mention Ion Cambra whose dedication to customer's needs goes above and beyond! Again, on some of those hottest days this summer, with seven guests including a newborn and a toddler in a house that AC was not functioning properly, my service call to Nicholson was almost equivalent to a distress call! ION, you are the one who not only came to answer the call 9 clock at night, but you are the one who came back next morning with a touching announcement " I WILL NOT LEAVE TODAY UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED!” ION, you met the challenge ! And you succeed! Your leaving your cell number with me to follow up with the repair in case the problem comes back hours later as it did happen before goes above and beyond! We had no heat from our furnace on a Sunday and I was impressed with the fair cost to repair, great communication from the company and the technician, and the transparency of the repair as we were not on site when they were there. I highly recommend Nicholson if you are considering replacement of your A/C and heating system. I have no association with them and obtained 5 bids before making my choice. Anthony Kent provided a competitive bid and answered my questions as it related to just replacing my 18 year old A/C compressor or also the heating system. He convinced me to do both and I think it was the right decision but time will tell when the heating system is turned on this fall. The real shining stars in my dealings with Nicholson were the installers John Walsh and Justin Periavito. I cant say enough about them. They were personable, answered all my questions and showed me the system as assembled explaining everything. They wore shoe protection and kept the work area clean and did a fantastic job cleaning up afterward removing everything offsite. The house had AC in 24 hours and a complete job in 2 1/2 days. They truly worked their butts off in a hot summer attic. If the duo handles every job assignment this way, Nicholson should be proud to have them as employees. I am not an HVAC expert but so far, just 4 days post completion the A/C is whisper quite and working very well from what I can tell. As long as the Carrier brand holds up, I will be very happy I chose Nicholson.

Overall I am very satisfied with Nicholson. This was not an easy process but of the several vendors I spoke with they had the most knowledge and was very open and honest. I had other vendors telling me they could do things that would have voided my warranty and not of been as good for me in the long run but Nicholson saved me from those poor decisions. I was a bit frustrated in the communication overall. For example I had to remind them twice they were fixing my AC unit that day as well as that wasn’t properly communicated down. I was also frustrated that the exhaust vent they put in was not the one we originally talked about and approved by my condo association. This was due to the original one estimated not fitting but something that could have been easily avoided. Those are minor issues in my book and overall I was very satisfied with the service especially compared to other vendors I have worked with in the past. The guys here doing the work were respectful and very good and just did a great job walking me through everything overall. My wife and I have been proud customers of Nicholson for about 7 years and have never been disappointed by their great work. They have replaced 3 furnaces, 3 AC units, and helped to make sure that our house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Last year they replaced a 22 year old furnace in our attic with an energy efficient one and the entire process was so easy and there was zero pressure on us to buy anything. Anthony came by our house, took a look at what was currently there, and gave us an honest assessment of what needed to be done. He sent me multiple quotes for different furnace vendors that were from cheapest to most expensive and I could pick the one that worked best for us. There was no attempt to upsell, which I appreciated, and Anthony was there to help every step of the way. He spent almost an hour with me on the phone answering questions on a Sunday night and didn't complain once even though I must have been annoying as hell since I know nothing about furnaces.They were able to install within 2 weeks and that's where John and Adi came in. These guys did a great job from start to finish not only making sure that everything was installed correctly but that my walls and floors were not scratched getting the old equipment out and the new equipment in. These guys also sealed my downstairs ducts afterwards so now the house heats up super fast and I don't get frostbite sitting next to the vents. Everyone has been great but John and Adi were so much fun to talk to and I trust their work fully. Most recently Ion, Adi, and Roberto did an absolutely fantastic job replacing the piece of junk Bryant furnace in our basement that the previous owner never took care of with a brand new Carrier that heats up the house in half the time. Ion came by at 10pm after the stupid thing failed, gave us all of the options for fixing it, and I made the decision to replace it because I was getting tired of different parts failing. Ion was phenomenal and even took the care to drop off 5-6 child-safe space heaters to help us out until the new furnace arrived at their office. Adi and Roberto came to install the Carrier on a Saturday morning, saw that the other parts attached to the furnace weren't installed correctly by the previous company, and took the time to fix them before putting the new furnace into place. Everything now looks straight, there is new tape everywhere, and all the wires are zip tied and labeled. This was phenomenal and even my wife noticed, which made her happy. The other thing I noticed about Nicholson is that the technicians all appear to be happy working there and take literal pride in their work. These guys show up on time with smiles on their faces at any time of the night, they are all pleasant, and every one of them is happy to explain what they are doing if you ask them. A few months ago Corey Menard come in to fix a small problem and he had to go digging through a foot of cellulose (blown insulation) to find that a piece of the duct work piping had a small tear in it. The poor guy came out completely covered in the stuff after working in a hot attic for an hour but never complained once. He just gathered his tools, took care to shake himself off so that he wouldn't spread any insulation into the house, and then went to his next job. Just good work all around. Sean came to our house to check up on our heating system. We bought our townhome in June 2017, and the thermostat wasn't functioning well, so we called Nicholson for their opinion of our system's health, and an estimate for any repairs that might be needed. Sean showed up on time, after calling ahead to let us know he was coming. He was very courteous, and proceeded to give a very thorough checkup of our system. He very patiently explained to us all of the mechanics of the heating system, pointed out things that may need to be repaired or replaced soon, and checked our thermostat. We called Nicholson because we saw their stickers in our basement, and figured it would be a good idea to get on a maintenance plan to make sure everything kept running smoothly. When we called Nicholson, the woman on the phone was incredibly gracious and patient with all of our questions, including a verbatim reading of the ~20 point checks they conduct for each major home system. I had an immediate sense that Nicholson really cared about its customers and would go the extra mile to ensure a good experience. I was right. Just over a week later, Brandon, one of the Nicholson service technicians, came by to do an inspection and tune-up of our heating and plumbing systems. He was extremely polite and personable, even wearing shoe covers as he walked around the house to keep the floors clean. We have a fairly complex heating system with 8 different zones, and he really took his time checking each system thoroughly, tracking down and teaching us how everything was connected. Brandon also gave us great advice on how to maintain/maximize our current systems, along with useful information on some additions we may want to add (e.g., heated bathroom floors) based on what he found. I could not speak more highly of my experience as a first-time Nicholson customer. We will definitely be using them in the future for upgrades and new installations in addition to ongoing maintenance and repairs.

4/14 Andre Felix and his assistants, Justin, and Roberto, did an outstanding job replacing an antiquated heat pump and air handler (and all the connections). Much of the work was on the second floor, in a space that was difficult to access. It was an all-day installation, and Andre, Justin, and Roberto were efficient and focused throughout. Their clean-up left the work areas spotless, and they answered all our questions about the new system. We are grateful for the care Andre, Justin, and Roberto took throughout the day, for every aspect of the job. 4/24 Adi Vidal and his assistant cleaned the ducts in our home, which had not been done in many years. Many of the ducts had deteriorated badly and needed to be replaced, so the job was a more involved than anticipated. Adi explained what was needed and why, and he and his assistant completed the installation and cleaning on the same day, and left us with a much-improved, more-efficient, system. We are again very satisfied with the care and the quality of the work.

This is a long overdue review. We bought a new condo last year that needed major HVAC work (replacement of two furnaces and installation of central A/C and some duct work). I contacted 4 different companies for the job and got quotes from all of them. Three out of four sent their sales rep to look at the place but Nicholson HVAC is the only one were the owner of the business, Mike, showed up. This is one reason I knew it is going to be quality work from them as the owner takes pride in his company’s work and making sure to take care of his potential customers. When I got the quotes, Nicholson’s was the most detailed and most competitive after going back and forth with Mike regarding the different systems and his recommendations. His quote for the top of the line system was almost $10K lower than another big name company for the same system. The other two companies gave me a quote for lower end systems but with almost the same price. I made decision to contract Nicholson Plumbing for the work, including replacing two furnaces, Installing A/C, and duct work. I have to say that their service and the work of these guys is nothing short of phenomenal. Absolutely everything about this experience was A+, including follow-up with the helpful and courteous office staff and set-up with installation team. They installed everything at top grade, on time, and cleaned up everything after them. Ryan, Jimmie, and Jeff did a fantastic job. Mike made sure we got all the documents needed for MassSave rebates and we applied and got the rebates. Nicholson was the first company to call us back and walked me through some restart procedures over the phone. They came out the next day and we set up a service plan. A couple of months later, the furnace stopped again during a major cold snap. We called at 3:30 PM, and Johnny was here within an hour. Worried that we might go the night (or longer) without heat, he arranged to pick up the replacement part after hours, drove out to Woburn during rush hour and returned with it in time to get our heat back on by 6:00. Doesn't get much better than that! Update Two Years later: Still quite happy with Nicholson. In particular, their technician Rick diagnosed a tricky problem with a cracked septic line inside a wall. The repair and clean up was professional as always and completed in under two hours.

We just moved up to Massachusetts from Alabama and purchased our first home. This morning we woke up to an indoor winter! It was 55 degrees and dropping. We called Nicholson and they sent someone out within the hour! The technician’s name was Adam. He was extremely knowledgeable about our issue and went above and beyond when fixing it. He even took the time to show my significant other and I how certain parts of the furnace worked and exactly why it failed. While we were all waiting for the house to warm up, Adam noticed we had pipes on the exterior wall. Being from Alabama, we didn’t know that they should have been insulated and as new homeowners we had thought the water to them had been turned off for winter. This was not the case and he ended up saving us from a very flooded house! We will be using Nicholson from now on.

My wife and I had central air installed in our home over the course of 5 days. In those 5 days we had the pleasure of working with Andre Felix, Joe Pinto, and Roberto Rojas. All three were punctual, professional, polite, courteous, and the level of communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Andre was the main point of contact and checked in with me about every single development (from the orientation of the vents, to the size of the holes being made, to status of the project. We ran into a few issues inherit to cutting holes into floors containing god knows what but the team created intelligent and low impact work arounds. The whole team showed up on time every day, stayed late when needed to, and cleaned up after themselves. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who did not drop what they were doing or rush out just because it was 3:30.

Having had a very terrible experience with another area HVAC firm, I was gun-shy. Our heat pump system has been freezing up and malfunctioning and, with research on the mfg web site, I found Nicholson and contacted them by email and spoke via phone. First of all, it's such a pleasure to be able to email and receive replies from friendly folks! THEN, our pipes burst. We were a new customer without any track record or much in the prior relationship department, but Mike (the owner) made it over late on a Saturday evening and helped fix the issue until we could properly get their tech in a few days later. All done with grace and good humor and proficiency. Since then, we've had the crew in on a few occasions and have met nearly all the great service techs and gotten to know the office team. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE this has been for us. I also like the pricing policy--no baloney--they tell you the price and stick to it. And , I like that they give options with prices. Again, no baloney....Very positive experience....white glove service with competitive prices. 5 stars!

Kyle suspected what the issue was but had to go through hours of diagnostics as there could have been issues somewhere else. He took care of things that were not done by my previous plumber. I had purchased a home in Framingham last year and was lucky enough to get by over a year without anything major breaking. Unfortunately that lucky streak ended for me when my sewer ejector pump failed in my basement bathroom. I called a few different plumbers and Nicholson was able to come out within a couple days of my call to assess the situation. The technician quoted me a price, we set a date when he would be back and I wrote a check for a deposit of half the total amount. The plumber came out exactly when he said he would, put drop clothes down to make sure he didn't dirty up my hardwood floors, (as he entered our front door), was very courteous and professional throughout the whole experience. I will be calling them again when I need any plumbing work done in the future... and I would recommend them to anyone in need of a good plumber. The only negative thing I could say is that the price was a little high for the work, but not enough for me to deduct any stars and I chalk that up to paying a bit more for a quality plumbing outfit who are professional, courteous and get the job done right the first time. I highly recommend them!

Great product and friendly service, but definitely some issues with fees. I had a system installed 2 years ago. I had a service notification appear on my thermostat so I called to see if it was a DIY service or best to have a tech out. They recommended the tech come out, and let me know the service fee which I unferstood and was fine with. But once there, the rep looked and said nothing needed to be done and reset my thermostat alert schedule. No problem, except I had to pay over $200 in addition to the standard visit charge-just for looking and resetting the alerts which had been set by them in the first place??
