Have used Murphy's since moving to the Cape. Highly recommend this business as everyone is a pleasure to deal with from the office to the technicians. I have a contract with them for heating, a/c and water heater maintenance. The techs are all awesome. Polite, kind and competent. Very comfortable with them in the house. Have also had plumbing repairs as well. And, no, I have zero personal involvement with this business! This is strictly an honest customer review.

He's discovered an issue with the control board(s) and is waiting on parts to complete the repair, but I have no doubt he'll be successful and I'll get my system back in top working order.

Jason and Oriano provided excellent service. They are very professional, polite, prompt, and open to questions about the HVAC system. I feel comfortable asking for information and clarification when it is necessary to do so. Oriano has been in our home to do the annual service on the furnace, water heater and gas fireplace three years in a row. Jason and Oriano identified a problem with our furnace that clearly needs to be addressed yesterday, and will return to do the repair in a few days. Murphy’s is efficient in schematics appointments for the Comfort Plus customers.

Updates: Not to my surprise, I got this “standard” response to any complaints from the owner. First of all, there’s no way to talk to them directly. I also explained in details what happened to me in this review. Before you “discuss internally” with your team, answer my questions first. Why don’t Murphy’s store any parts of the furnace you guys installed for the customers? Why did you guys try to over charge me to replace the faulty refrigerant pipes on the mini-split system? Greed or what? Why did the person answering the service call refuse to forward the pictures I took of the our furnace to the technician who will be coming to our house on Wednesday? Is that too much to ask for? BTW, I texted those photos to you guys, and after 24 hours, I still haven't heard about anything. Is that what you guys call 24-hour emergency service? We had Murphy’s installed our furnace and mini-split system. Pre-COVID, they were a great company even though we had some small issues with them. They had 24-Hour emergency service, and whenever I called, they would arrive in a few hours. However, we just identified some serious problems with our furnace. I tried to call their 24-hour emergency service yesterday, but only got a call back from their regular customer service lady this morning who has no technical knowledge. They told me they could only schedule a diagnosis service two days later. I understand it is still a fast response for Cape Cod standard, but when I asked if I can talk to a technician and send some pictures first and a list of the parts that may need to be replace, which I had done before with them and other companies (for other issues). I thought just “in case” they have the parts, they can bring them and fix it when they are here. Her immediately response was like “we don’t store the parts, and we need to order the parts and make another trip to fix your problem”. I said “please, I said just in case”. She finally gave me a number to send pictures to, which is just a generic number. And I don’t even know if it will be checked before they come here. I know this is all because they want to charge more money. We also had another issue with the mini-split system. It was because of defects of the pipes from one of their suppliers, and they actually had to recall a few years ago. They said they would replace them for me, but only charge the minimum cost (just material and man-hour, no surcharge), as it was their fault. They gave me a quote of about $3,000. I thought it was ridiculous, so I contacted another company to do it, and they gave me a much lower price. And when the new company did the work, I realized it only took 3 hours to have it done. And the materials were just a few hundred dollars. So Murphy’s lied to me, and they were trying to make a big profit out of it…

Josh installed a new thermostat in my elderly fathers house. I was not there to answer questions but he called 2x to make sure we were on the same page. He was diligent as we had some difficulty with the WIFI passcode but he stayed with it and got it up and running. Brian determined the cause of excessive moisture. There were issues regarding the initial installation that needed to be addressed. Brian returned to our home to complete the work. I arrived at the house as he was leaving and I asked how things went. He explained that equipment changed that he made because he felt that the part, in this case a drain line, was better than the part installed originally. But he clearly he wasn't entirely about the installation of this part, as it didn't fit the enclosed space well. I honestly expected to see some sort of Frankenstein installation, with gaps and lots of duct tape. Instead, I saw a run of outdoor conduit that was tightly sealed and neatly strapped with heavy duty zip ties. To my eye, it looks great and I am so thankfully for Brian and his diligence for making this installation adjustment to our system.

Great communication skills so I never felt “in the dark “. Looked at the job as a whole and with pride in his work - found several extra issues that he recognized and dealt with. Part of me wants to keep this place a secret as good services are hard to find. Beginning with the front office, they accommodated me for expedited services as a new customer. Rich is an excellent technician and really knows his stuff. He took the time to explain what we needed and patiently answered all of our questions. He brought our tankless water heater up to code and serviced it to meet the demands of our busy household. We recently have had some additional plumbing and heating challenges from using a substandard company in the past. Now that Rick and Josh have been repairing and replacing all that other junk work, we can see SUCH an improvement in our house. It's nice to have guys like Rick and Josh available to do the work right the first time. Plus they are very nice and patient with all of our many questions which says a lot!

Nobody likes their water heater to fail two weeks before the holidays, but that's what happened. Mark came over the next day to give me an estimate. The supply house was out of the exact model I needed, but Mark was able to find a better unit that was in-stock. The next day, Andrew and Chris showed up at 8AM to install a brand new unit. The guys showed up on time and I had hot water in two hours. It was a nice, neat installation and was up to the current plumbing code. If your water heater has ever failed you know how much of a hassle it can be. Because of Murphy's quick work, I was down for just two days. I was very happy with the job and I will definitely use Murphy's again.

I never thought I’d leave reviews for plumbing services (or anything) but I absolutely had to. Murphy’s was the only company able to dispatch someone to my house in an emergency situation (they arrived almost immediately) and did so in a kind, patient and compassionate manner. I called all the other big Cape firms (including one I used just this week) and was rudely informed they were too inundated with burst-pipe calls to come lower the dangerously high levels of CO2 in my house any time soon. The dispatcher was incredibly helpful and the plumber that came was so knowledgeable and explained everything to me and was able to completely rectify the issue within 25 minutes. They were the best - don’t hesitate; I’ll only ever call them!

The Murphy Technicians arrived within the expected appointment window, were extremely courteous, wore masks inside and outside the house, and listened carefully to my service areas to investigate. They were able to correct the situation and carefully ran multiple cycles to be sure the adjustment was correct. We discovered Murphys by online reviews and search a few years ago. Since then, they have installed a new boiler, added a heat zone, installed 4 ductless units, as well as traditional plumbing repairs and maintence. Murphy's is not the least expensive, but we choose to have the annual contract to get our AC and heat serviced and lower rates on incidentals. I do recommend this approach, as the team will be more familiar with the house and systems, and cut down the time and investigation needed for incidental services. Clearly, since we have had a range of projects and service, our recommendation is quite positive and would encourage anyone looking for true whole house services to consider Murphys.

On the hottest day in years, we drove to our house on the Cape, hoping to fire up the air conditioning and beat the heat. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the AC was dead and our thermostat readout detected a likley issue with the air handler. It's now 95º, the house is a furnace, and it's 5PM on a Saturday. I called Murphy's emergency # and spoke with their answering service. In all honesty I thought there was little chance someone woud get back to me quickly, let alone be able to resolve the problem, especially in the midst of a heat wave. To make a long story short, within 40 minutes Matt from Murphy's called me from the road and talked me through a few possible fixes I might be able to resolve myself. Matt stayed in good touch with me and within 90 minutes he arrived at my house. Within 5 minutes he diagnosed the problem with a faulty float in the condensate pump, and 15 minutes later he replaced the pump and we were back up and running. An hour later he called me from his next call to make sure everything was still working correctly. WOW. What a terrific customer experience and Matt couldn't have been any nicer or more professional. Just a quick note to let you know what a great job your crew did installing my Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump system. Let me start by saying that before I contacted Murphy's I had six contractors look at the job. One contractor couldn't find a way to run the plumbing. Another said he could do it but it wouldn't look very good from the outside. Another wanted to cut open the walls in the upstairs bedrooms, while someone else suggested a floor mount unit if I got rid of some furniture. Yet another suggested putting it in the ceiling. Most had no knowledge of rebates. Those that did didn't want to deal with it. Murphy's to the rescue! Christine in the office set up an appointment with Gary Thompson, who is a brilliant salesman and a walking encyclopedia on everything ductless mini-split heat pumps. I met with Gary and explained to him that six other contractors looked at the job and didn't have a clue, why could he do it? He said "It's a Cape. We did 100 of these last year. We have a technician named the Wizard (Bolivar) and he can do anything." On the appointed installation date the Wizard and his helper arrived on time. It was a rainy day and the first thing I noticed was before they entered the house they put on booties to keep from tracking in dirt. Wow! They did this every time. I called on a Monday morning after a weekend with no hot water. After Christine listened to what'd happened, she told me a salesman would be at my house within about 90 minutes. She also reassured me that they could, in all likelihood, have my failed unit replaced and be up & running by the end of the day. Gary knocked on my door well within the time frame that Christine had set. He took one look at my failed water heater, agreed that a replacement was necessary, and said he'd call me back within the hour with my options. True to his word, he called back a short time later with three options for me to choose from. He explained the benefits and drawbacks to each option and helped me come to an educated decision on what option was best suited for me. Where I'd been without hot water for the weekend with two small kids, Gary said he was going to pull an installer off another job, have him stop and pick up a new water heater, and head straight over. And before noon, Fernando drove up to the house. Fernando showed up and was ready to roll. He was very knowledgable on the unit he was installing and was quick to answer any installation questions I had. Anyone who's had Fernando in their home realizes very quickly that the pride he takes in his work is second to none. Fernando worked well past quitting time to be sure the kids got a nice hot bath before bed, working outside by the light of a flashlight sealing the area around the newly installed vent tube until he could return with some shingles the next day. The install was neat and clean, and when he was done, the area around the water heater was cleaner than he'd found it. The next day, Fernando returned to replace a few rows of shingles that needed to be removed to fit the new vent and to perform a few settings tweaks to get the unit set up and dialed in. An additional service call was required about a week after the original install to make adjustments to the unit's flow rate settings. It was a simple enough adjustment, and Paul took care of it in short order after a quick phone call to Rinnai.

The office people are very well coordinated with the people in the field, and set expectations well. The field guys showed up when promised. They were quite comfortable working on the system which they don't even install! They went through the detective work of fixing someone else's system mistakes, in the process of checking each system component, reconnected everything and were nice, clean & efficient. The costs for the time spent and the result: well worth it. I wish we had used them to install the original system! I have worked with many HVAC contractors in the past, and these people are on a very high level.

We recently had our air conditioning reconfigured in our home. This meant moving one condenser, taking out one condenser, and adding a new condenser. We also added new ceiling units so that the entire house could be reached. The installation in the kitchen was quite involved and challenging. Boli and John were our installation technicians. They were terrific. Boli actually climbed inside of the kitchen wall through a small hole, and pulled in the piping from inside of the walls. They made the installation fun. They were thorough, and clearly worked hard to make everything just as we wanted. After the installation, they cleaned all areas completely. Boli and John are a credit to your business. They are the face of your business, and the quality of their work determines your reputation...and they are a great asset for you.

My central air conditioner stopped working about 8 PM on a Monday night. I called Murphy's the next morning about 8:30 AM. They explained their rates and said they could have someone out that afternoon. At 2:45 the repair tech arrived, diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor and replaced it with a new one off the truck.
