We've been without A/C since May 4th waiting on our home warranty company to make a decision if they were going to replace broken A/C (still waiting). We installed Window A/C in Jul to help until we decided to have replaced ourselves. Polar Bear came the same day we called, gave us quote ($1000 less than last company), and 4 days later had the system installed without issues, and the crew was great. Definitely recommend them.

Our residential air conditioner coils needed to be replaced in the middle of a typical hot and muggy Alabama summer. I spoke with William (owner) late Friday evening and he took the time to explain what options there were for repair including the pros and cons of each option (was not in a rush or pushy). He not only gave me a quote over the phone, but had an appointment for me the following Monday at 8am. He had the part I needed in stock, and Christian arrived promptly at my home at 8am. Christian was very professional, courteous, and efficient. He went above and beyond what was required for the repair by sealing our ductwork near the unit to ensure efficiency of the system. If you have contemplated who to use when you have a need for HVAC repair, installation, or maintenance, look no further than Polar Bear Services! They are on speed dial in my phone and have earned my business in the future. Thank you again for taking care of us!

I was having trouble heating and cooling my new home in Pell City. There Tech. Richard came out and was very professional, went above and beyond in all aspects of his job and he spent time to talk to me and explain to me everything I need to know about my homes AC Unit. Richard talked to me like we were life long friends and that is a very good feeling to have a Tech. that is willing to help you in that way, instead of just coming in and leaving without helping you understand what all needed to be done and what all he did while he was working on your AC Unit. I would recommend this company and Richard to anyone who needs help with there AC Unit.

It’s Christmas Eve - 2:00pm - - it’s 9 degrees - my heating unit will not work. I made several calls and no one answered - finally got an answer and I explained my situation and sadly they were receiving many many calls and couldn’t get to me until next week - but he was willing to FaceTime me and with his patience and working with a woman that barely knows a pair of pliers from a screwdriver - he walked me thru what I needed to do and I’m happy to report I have heat again! In this big ole busy world of everyone racing to the top - this man took the time to help me on this day. I cannot say enough Thank you’s and praise! I recently decided to switch to "The Bear" and have zero regrets!! I've had small issues with my unit freezing up for years and the company I used prior would come out and do a quick fix and then it would mess up again, draining my pocket. Polar Bear didn't come out and do any quick fixes, they got down to the bottom of what was causing the issues and repaired it! The staff at Polar Bear are very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Their excellent customer service is on point! I'm looking forward to a long standing relationship with them, as I chose to sign up for their twice a year maintenance plan!

Called early in the morning and was informed by the extremely nice lady on the phone that they were very busy. She told me she was going to try her best to get someone to come out that same day. Well she most defiantly did and it was even the owner of the company because they were so busy. He got my A/C fixed and working in no time. Update on previous 1 star review. The day after the technician left, the owner of the company called to try and fix the problem. After a lengthy conversation and lots of explanations. We decided to go with Polar Bear Services to replace our motor. The owner is very customer oriented and wanted everyone involved to be happy. The technicians were polite and understanding of our issue. I’m very happy with the fix. And will use Polar Bear again. Had this company come out and do a routine check to ensure our A/C unit was in good repair, I was quoted $89 for 1 system. Paid $130, they did not do anything extra. On top of witch he did not change out the filter which was bad, and we had no idea there was a filter in this spot to change. (Recently purchased home) 7 days later the A/C is not cooling properly. On the 8th day it stopped completely. Another guy was sent out, and we’re told there was a wire that burnt out causing the motor to burn out. So, now they want $1200 to replace motor. Spoke with the technician and called to speak with supervisor. Who states, that this could not have been predicted. So what is the point of preventative maintenance?? We went with another company to replace motor. The sad thing is, I have medical issues and I am very sensitive to heat. Over exposure can cause me to have seizures. So I’ll be camping in my motor home with A/C til it’s repaired. But if I didn’t have that option?? Motel? It’s a racket.

Their air conditioner was out and Polar Bear came out and fixed the problem quickly! During my most recent repair service, I was made informed of the stages of progress throughout the entirety of the process and I very much appreciated the clarity into the repairs being provided. The repair work was performed after hours and while my kids were asleep, which required agility in performing the services to not disturb anyone - and I very much appreciated the kindness shown as this undoubtedly make the job more challenging. My husband has been piecemealing our 30 yr old HVAC unit for 8 years and finally, the heat condenser rusted out, clogged up to the point carbon monoxide was present. We shut the unit down and have been riding it out for a few weeks without heat or air not wanting to spend a lot of money going into 'Winter 2020' during a pandemic. Now it is getting down into the 30's, so we made the calls... The moment I contacted Polar Bear Services, Billy Weller, the owner responded. I told him what was going on, what we needed and wanted from the type of unit to warranties. Mr Weller gave us a quote and offered several payment options. We had other quotes to compare this to and Polar Bear was by far the most affordable for the exact same system. We chose Polar Bear and Mr Weller had his crew here the following morning to replace the entire system. The technicians were on time, very polite, professional, know what they're doing AND they replaced the old single-wall pipes to double-wall getting us up to Code too. I strongly recommend Billy Weller & Polar Bear Services... I give Polar Bear an A+!

The Trane systems they install are great. They can also give you a price over the phone for a standard installation. Highly recommended!
