As result, I made it through springtime in DC for. the first time without using even an over-the-counter allergy medicine and didn't once experience the watery eyes, runny nose, etc. that the season usually brings. I've been a patient of Dr. Safayan since 2011. He is my internist and I also see him for acupuncture. He is the most attentive doctor I've ever had. He thinks about his patients holistically and encourages us to care for ourselves through diet and exercise, but he is not judgmental and allows me to make my own decisions about medications and courses of treatment. He orders extensive blood labs to get a sense of what's going on with your overall health. He won't push his other therapies such as acupuncture and NAET, but I encourage you to try them out because they are great supplements to overall care.

Restorative Health is a literal godsend. I've been to several doctors over the years, from general practitioners to holistic doctors and naturopaths, and I've never received the type of personalized, attentive, and thorough care that Restorative Health can provide. Dr. Safayan is both an MD and acupuncturist, and with his understanding of both traditional Western and Eastern medicinal practices, he can better diagnose patients and suggest the most effective treatment. Dr. Safayan will take time to explain how the body works and how to treat the root of your ailments, not just the symptoms. Dr. Safayan works closely with Dr. Threlkel, Restorative Health's naturopathic physician (who patients can elect to see in addition or solely), the two work together to find the best solution for their patients. Outside of the office, both Dr. Safayan and Dr. Threlkel will respond to patient concerns after-hours to make sure you are physically sound and address concerns you may have with treatment you're receiving. After seeing Dr. Safayan for acupuncture treatments on concerning ailments, he always makes a point to check in and see how I'm feeling afterwards, which is greatly comforting in comparison to some doctors that will treat or prescribe you something and then push you out of the office door for the next patient. With Restorative Health, you will have an attentive and caring team behind you making sure you get the best treatment and experience. The office also offers nutrition counseling, physical therapy, massage, infrared sauna, NAET (a test for food and allergen sensitivities), and more. Whether you are looking for a new general physician or want more comprehensive care, Restorative Health is truly one of the greatest integrative care centers in the DMV and maybe even beyond.
