My grandma was there for a little over a month and my family and I were extremely happy with the administrative department at the hospital. We were especially happy with Maria Miranda and all the staff, nurses, doctors and physical therapists. We have no complaints with this hospital. The staff would always address any issues we had as soon as possible and would answer calls. They also made my grandma feel comfortable by having staff members who spoke Spanish and could communicate with her. My grandma thankfully is recovering and has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility but her time at Kindred Hospital definitely met and exceeded expectations. Our family would like to send a big thanks for all the staff and amazing people who helped us through our journey with my grandma.

This place was absolutely wonderful. My ex-husband was transferred here from Advent Hospital in Tampa. He was on a medication for his heart, that rehabs facilities wouldn't take him because of liability and insurance. From day one the whole staff Dr's, nurses, cna's, advocates, social workers, therapist, case management etc. Made sure his stay while there was the best it could be. Everyone would speak when passing by his room some would even come in and talk to us just to make sure our concerns are answered in a timely medicine. Ty was the best if he couldn't answer our questions with a couple of hours we had an answer. I highly recommend this place for a loved who needs that little extra help. Thank you Kindred for taking care of this special man and the father of our daughter.

The rehab team is as amazing, the food is good, Ty the quality manager is very friendly and informative , the respiratory therapist was very professional too. The techs and nurses always provide assistance with feeds. The patient representative comes to my room at least twice a day to check on me and answer all my concerns. I had arrived from Massachusetts on August 3, 2022 to be by my father’s side who was really Ill. Ms. Miranda made it possible for my husband and I to see him. I visited my uncle at your facility ; definitely impressed with the cleanliness, the friendliness from Sharon the lady at the front desk, my uncle Hector was at Kindred around 3 weeks and everyone was extremely professional , nice , and friendly. The cleaning crew was respectful; specially Daina the lady cleaning the beautiful floors, the charge nurse Yalile was very informative, compassionate , the physical therapist were great helping my uncle getting back on his feet and become a little more independent, although he doesn’t speak English very well everyone took the time to help him understand his treatment plan, the wound care team were very professional, attentive, made him feel comfortable, the day shift staff always provided an outstanding medical care , the administration was very flexible with the visitation hours, only one little observation with the evening security young girl, not the most approachable person , takes away the madness of this institution. I would like to recognize all the CNAs for the hard work ; specially Francis, Marisol the charge nurse for always helping and for making sure my tio got what he needed at all times, the food was okay too and to Maria the patient advocate a million thanks for her patience, friendliness, for taking every single phone call from my auntie, for all the support and compassion towards every patient& family member. Maria you are the right fit for the job and really a rock star. Thank you to the Kindred Administration for providing an excellent first class medical care !!!

My wife was transferred from Tampa General to Kindred to recover from a bad lung disease. We were nervous about a small facility when she was so fragile, but Kindred exceeded our expectations. The nurses were professional and caring, and the CNAs helped to meet her daily needs. I was fortunate to be retired and could spend time with my wife. In any serious health matter like this, I've learned that patients need an advocate, and fortunately the busy staff was kind to me even on frequent requests for something as small as refrigerating milk. The PT staff was excellent and played a critical role in getting my wife walking. Nurse managers, case workers, and the administration all told us we could reach out to them with issues and we often did. Even the cleaning crew played an important role in my wife's recovery. I would recommend this hospital highly to all people in the Tampa area.

My father was at Advent Pinellas for 11 days on a ventilator, and we were told he did not have brain function and we should sign a DNR. I wanted a second opinion and moved him to kindred. Within 24 hours he was squeezing the nurses hand, wiggling his toes, and could shake his head yes and no when asked questions. Had I listened to the doctor at Advent, he would not be here. I'm so thankful that I moved him, and Kindred handled all the insurance nonsense so I didn't have to worry about it.

The staff that cares for the patients is wonderful. They provide an exceptional level of care, not just for administering all tasks required by the doctors, but also providing anything that will make their patients more comfortable and less medically depressed. Most people recognize that medication and required treatments are only part of what helps a patient heal. Visitors, phone calls and pet therapy can play an equal part. At the Howard Street location, an employee with the title of Patient Advocate cares more about paperwork than a positive experience for the patients. Instead of permitting a “service dog in training” to visit with a patient and putting a smile on that individual’s face she is more concerned about the paperwork being turned in asking for prior permission. The dog in training weighs 4 pounds. At 3 other medical facilities such visitations are encouraged. Just goes to show why paper pushers have no business running a health care facility. This rating would be “0” stars but the health care providers actually deserve a 5.

First off I do have a few people that really stood out doing a fantastic job. Sharon Gainer who was at the front lobby desk. She made my grandson and I so welcomed every time we visited my husband. Male nurse Casey, wound care Sandy, OT Michelle. There were others but unfortunately I did not get their names. I visited every day and did notice a few flaws that I reported to the assistant manager Jared, but really didn’t notice a change. PT, OT and speech were the best for him. I think the patient/nurse ratio was low, but I guess with the covid, so many skilled nurses are quitting or retiring, which I don’t blame them. So all in all it was a good experience and I thank you.

I was approach to consent for a peg tube placement for my husband , I didn’t agree; I wanted him to be re- evaluated by the speech therapist again. On my frustration I contacted the patient representative , Maria. Maria came to my husband’s room ; I expressed all my concerns to her hoping an immediate solution. Maria reached out to Tashiba, Salil ,Case management ,special thanks to everybody for listening and addressing my concerns by 1000 am the next morning all my problems were solve. My mom came to Kindred Central after having emergency surgery. I was very pleased with the professionalism shown. When you walk in you are greater at the front desk by a wonderful woman with the best smile! The patient floors are calm, and yet buzzing with activity. The nurses and technicians are knowledgeable and patient. The food, oh the food, was spectacular in its presentation and flavor. And the cherry on top is Charity, patient advocate. When I transferred to Kindred I was in serious condition suffering from pneumonia brought on by the covid virus. Thanks to prayers from people across our country and daily encouragement of the staff I began to take the first steps towards recovery. My pal sal, Dr. Salil, encouraged me, “Always listen to your body. If it tells you to stop then stop and if you can do more press on.” This was echoed by the rehab staff, Chandra and Michelle. When they looked at me they saw their family and the desire to help was clearly evident. God has a plan and purpose for all. I am thankful His plan brought me to Kindred Hospital. The doctors, therapists, nurses, and staff have been truly amazing.

The one thing I noticed that anytime there was any kind of need or thing we wanted to know it was addressed immediately by all staff members here.They considered that request top priority. Everyone here was very caring and compassionate.They made sure that all his needs were met and felt very comfortable and well cared for.The facility is very clean and the environmental services team came in at least twice a day or more if needed to make sure the room was clean and neat. He developed a special bond with Chandra and Jasmine from the Rehab.Deptartment.Gayle from Case management was very thorough in making sure my fathers transition from here to the rehab facility was very smooth. My father has made remarkable recovery here at Kindred Hospital Central Tampa, now he is able to walk and is getting discharged from here to go the the next level of care and plan to return home soon for the holidays. When I came here everyone here was very helpful.They were always caring and compassionate.They were always eager to help.The Rehab Team,Nursing and CNAs, , Respiratory Team,EVS Team,all my Doctors were very professional and very thorough in the services they provided. The team was caring and considerate. They always got me motivated to get up and move.When I came to this hospital ,I could barely move even in bed.I was dependent for all my care. The team here was excellent and compassionate.They motivated me to get up and move. With all the hard work and dedication I started sitting at the edge of the bed by myself ,started standing and taking small steps to now ,where I can pretty much walk with a walker followed by a wheel chair behind me.I feel much confident of myself and I am able to do a lot for myself as well.I am thankful that Michelle and Aeastly from Rehab.were always there for me. The staff at Kindred hospital Central Tampa are wonderful ,they are very attentive.They are very caring and compassionate .All the the departments,nursing,kitchen,rehab have been excellent.The rehab team got me walking in a very short time.When I came to Kindred Hospital Central Tampa ,I was barely able to take a step with a lot of assistance and now within less then two weeks I am already walking Independently without any assistance over a thousand feet without any problems.The house keeping department was excellent as well.I want to just say one more time that the entire staff here was awesome. When I came to Kindred Hospital Central Tampa on December 18th 2020, I was very sick and I didn’t think I was going to make it.I was scared to death, it was Christmas Time and it was my birthday month and here I was so sick and scared. But the people at Kindred Hospital are Miracle Workers,they went above and beyond to help me get through this difficult time.They all worked very hard to help me feel better, not just taking care of my health but also helping me emotionally to make my stay very comfortable and relaxing.The Rehab Team here at Kindred Hospital Central Tampa is “AWESOME,”Jasmine my Occupational Therapist, Aeastly My Physical Therapist ,Tasheba my Speech Language Pathologist are just extraordinary and wonderful Therapist,they were very patient ,very pleasant ,very understanding very comforting and caring, they always made sure I was OK and never pushed me to do anything that I could not handle.They always made my Therapy session fun and enjoyable ,at the same time making sure it was productive and helped me getting stronger each day.Today I am so excited that with all the help I received here from everyone I have made remarkable recovery to where I am walking by myself,taking care of all my needs and I am being discharged from this hospital and I am heading Home ,Sweet Home. My Nurses Manuel,Katrina,Brandon,Elizabeth,Maria,Wesley were Phenomenal,my RT John ,Bob,George,Kiana,Barbara we’re Outstanding they all helped me so much. My Doctors.were very good and took excellent care of all my needs ,Everyone here has great interdisciplinary communication which helped with my recovery.They all explained everything to me in great details ,were very patient and made it a point to explain to me in layman’s terms.The EVS team always made sure my room was clean and in tip top condition,they came two to three times a day.The Nursing Supervisors also came to visit and check on me regularly, and to see if I needed anything. In January 2021, my Aunt was transferred to Kindred Hospital off Howard as she was being treated in recovery for Covid-19. As her caretaker, it was very difficult to manage her daily care via phone as every healthcare provider was basically locked down. This hospital provided competent and compassionate care throughout my Aunt's stay, keeping me apprised daily of her progress. Most notably, Charity Seckle, one of the managers there went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we were kept up to date and that issues were resolved timely. I would highly recommend this hospital for rehabilitation services post-hospitalization.

When I got to Kindred Hospital Central Tampa,I could barely get up needed two people to even get me up and moving,and now I can get up and walk by myself in just two and a half weeks. My sister recently spent several weeks at Kindred. She was very, very ill and spent most of that time in ICU. Her nurses and respiratory therapists were the most compassionate, capable, kind professionals I have ever had the privilege to know. They treated her with dignity, even when she was difficult or unconscious. They did everything possible to make her passing easier, not just for her but for her family. We were treated with respect and consideration through our days there. My thanks and appreciation to the third floor staff- ICU and PCU.

She received the best care here, everybody here was very caring treated her with respect ,dignity and affection.When my daughter came to this hospital she couldn’t get up,sit up,or even move her arms.I am so happy to say that today she is walking without any assistance like her normal walk she is happy and independent with feeding herself, she is pretty much doing everything she could do before she got sick and went to the hospital.It has been an amazing journey for her and had great and wonderful experiences with all these fine people here who always encouraged her and helped her to achieve her goal .They all went above and beyond to help her and we see the excellent result of all the hard work.Everybody here was excellent in providing great care but a one name stands out, Chandra her Physical Therapist is on the top of the list, my daughter considers him her friend.I don’t want to leave anybody out as everone here was excellent ,I would honestly give this hospital and people a 10 Star if I could.The nursing department,house keeping department,rehab dept,respiratory dept,dietary department,pharmacy department, infection control were great.The ladies at the reception desk are amazing they are so positive it starts our day with positivity and always turns out to be a great day because of a great and positive start. Although I was in the hospital, I enjoyed my stay. The nurses, CNAs, and staff were phenomenal. They were so nice to me. The physical therapy and occupational therapy was the best. At first I did not want to come here, but the doctor said it was the best for wound care and boy was he right. This hospital is located far away from my aunt’s home and family. Also due to her language barriers and multiple hospitalizations, my aunt was very scared and anxious being transferred here. Her stay got better and even great because wonderful people showed her excellent care, compassion, and empathy. Special mention to Aeastly PT from Rehab who has been patient with her. He went above and beyond his task just to help her feel better. His wonderful director Salil came to see my aunt multiple times to check on her. Tom RT has been very thorough and very sympathetic to her respiratory needs. When we had questions and issues, they quickly resolve and explain it to us. Joel, Donna and Rose are great nursing supervisors. Peter has shown her exceptional nursing care. Rose treated her like family. Kadji, Elizabeth, and Doreen are very caring. Bravo is a great CNA. Doctors and nurse practitioners took their time to communicate and update us with my aunt’s medical condition. I don’t remember all the name she mentioned (from environmental service, CNA, nurses, therapy, doctors) but I observed that this place has a culture of a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. Me and my family truly appreciate all the care Kindred has provided my aunt. We surely recommend this place.

All the nurses, respiratory therapist s,CNA's w, my Case Manager Heather were kind and helpful.The EVS the Kitchen Department were very good and always eager to help as well.The entire Hospital staff provided the best care.Some of the names I do remember are Nadine,Ramon,Xavier, Leslie,Marisabel,Umair, Jefferson,Millie ,Norecsy are the nurses and CNAs who worked with me and provided me with best service.My Doctor's Dr.Atigre,Dr.Syed,Dr.Sierra,Dr.Carrington,Dr.Sawar,Dr.Baddoura provided me great care as well. Everyone here communicated well with me,always gave me updates and catered to all my needs.Whenever I rang the call bell for help someone would show up to help.The day and night staff were equally good, at night they would make sure I got a bath,got cleaned and had a clean bed which helped me sleep soundly and heal ,so I was stronger the next day. These five stars are for two members of the nursing staff... Claudette and Gani on the third floor are the absolute BEST care givers in the entire facility. They always go above and beyond the call of duty when caring for their patients - they really DO their jobs! Even when they are not assigned to him, they always check in to see how my father is doing. It would be great if the other nurses gave the kind of care that Gani and Claudette give routinely. I was brought in after an extensive heart surgery and had been sedentary am Nd effectively bed ridden for the better part of seven months. Needless to say I lost all of my former muscle mass and was unable to walk. The Occupational therapy and physical therapy teams were excellent and With their help I progressed more rapidly then was anticipated and was released in late July 2019. I can’t speak highly enough of the rehab staff who played a major role I’m getting me back on my feet..in a very literal sense and would reccomend the facility and their services.

-REVIEW BY: Nicole Busing- I just got home from a 8 week stay at kindred. I needed long term IV antibiotics and physical therapy. When i got there I was bedridden and in a depressed state, but thanks to the many great therapists, doctors and nurses, i was back in my feet, happy and healthy by the time i left! I was EXTREMELY satisfied with the 24 hour care i recieved. I got to know and love many people from all departments of KHCT! -3rd floor nurses and cnas were the bomb! (Lysette, Leandra, Avia, Rosnique, Lucy, Lisette, and many more) -Administration (Mariah, Heather) always made sure i was comfortable and informed. -my OT therapists (Jasmine and Michelle) were so fun to work with, and thanks to them i now have use of my right arm again! -Physical therapists ( Tamvy, Matt, Eugene, and Greg) got me walking again, and had many laughs while doing it! -Nutrition&Kitchen (Mary, Jorge, Lezaro et al) were amazing and listened to all my requests. -Housekeeping came every day and by the end I was friends with all of them! - Dalia was my advocate and i loved that they assign you one, shes great! -Caseworker Lashonda kept everything smooth and on track during my stay I made many friends at KHCT and am already looking forward to visiting them soon, thank you ALL for your help patience and kindness!IGREAT place, theyve really stepped it up! Apart from others may say, even my friends, my family (I) love Kindred Hospital Central and South Tampa as well. Kindred had to pick up the pieces when other facilities failed at carrying for my mother's stage 4 bed sore on the sacrum. I am thankful, they were able to restore her back to the road of recovery after Tampa Rehab and Carrollwood Care Center set her back months on healing. They have amazing wound care doctors, nurses and teams. The nurses and CNA/Techs, OT, PT, ST even housekeeping, dietary departments are excellent as well. If it had not been for God and the teams of Dr. Baddoura (wound care), Kindred Healthcare system, I'm not sure if my mother would have recuperated this fast from the damages.

it is an aging facility. maintenance looked to be busy nearly every time i was there. the wound care team expressed restriction to order needed basic supplies. few of the techs had working knowledge of paraplegia. on the positive side. all the staff were responsive to requests. the food was darn good for the venue!!! cleaning staff were proactive and efficient. as a transitional facility it served its purpose. are there better ones in the area? probably. there are also much worse.
