I had a major surgery at the outpatient ward of this hospital. The staff were so kind, compassionate and lighthearted. They genuinely tended to me and kept me calm and happy prior to my operation. They embodied a perfect mixture of professionalism and of personalized patient care. They accommodated my every request and went above and beyond to create a positive, comfortable, and supportive experience. I thank everyone there and highly recommended this facility for your medical needs!

Went to ER on a Sat at 12:30 pm with symptoms of UTI. No one else in waiting room, friendly staff were professional and had me admitted in a short amount of time. I was impressed with the nurse training a student how to insert my IV and it did not even leave a bruise! The doctor was friendly and quick to get tests ordered and the CT scan tech took great care to get that handled quickly and efficiently. I had to be admitted for an overnight stay. Those nurses and staff were excellent! Thank you Stacy, especially. The reason I did not give a 5 star rating is because in hours the ER room at no time did anyone ask if my husband needed anything. When I got to my room at about 7 pm, I asked if I could have some dinner because I was there all day with nothing to eat. A nurse assistant said he would be right back - never saw him or the food. After the new shift came in, someone finally got me a cold dry turkey sandwich and a bag of Cheetos - not exactly healthy food from a hospital. Later I asked if I could have a lemonade and the desk nurse said that there was lemonade downstairs in a vending machine, but it was past visiting hours, so my husband had gone, I had no cash and I was in a gown hooked up to an IV. These are minor things, but to me to earn a 5 star, there had to be no glitches. I very much appreciate all the care and help I did receive throughout my stay and the emergency surgery team on Sunday was definitely 5 star! I hope I will not need Memorial Hospital again, but will certainly go back and will highly recommend it if anyone asks.

For being a hospital, it was a great experience. Each and every staff member I came in contact with was amazing and I truly felt cared for my well-being. The nursing staff built a relationship with me, it was very calming. They eased my anxiety with having my first ever surgery. Overall it was a great experience.

Staff was wonderful from the time I walked in and until I left. They were friendly and showed care for all the patients, not only me. They nurse that I had made sure she stayed on the DR. so he could do his notes so I could be discharged after my procedure and she understood I wanted to be home. They made me comfortable and made sure I understood everything I needed to know. They were AMAZING.

I had an outpatient procedure done and I have to say I was treated like a princess. The doctors and staff were absolutely amazing. My nurse Steven was the nicest and sweetest person I have ever met. He even called me the day after my discharge to check on my status and to converse about my humorous reaction under anesthesia.

I was there following post surgical proceredure they took care of me well. I liked the nurses that were assigned to me. My only issue was while I was in surgery there was suppose to be a link that I could have my love ones to be able to follow my status from in the surgery room, recovery etc but the info given they could not find my info although i entered the required info I had to set up and then pass the info so my family could follow my status. My family was beside themselves with the long wait and it took a while for the Dr to come out with the update so she was very worried. That was probably the only think that I would change about my experience. But overall great staff and hospital good experience

My doctor ordered rush tests and Memorial Hospital (n/k/a HCA) is in my network. I was very impressed with your staff, the unit secretary that assisted me at the North side entrance to the hospital was very nice. She directed me to the "check-in" building on the East side of the hospital and they were also very nice!! I did have a difficult time locating where the entrance was and where to park. I realize you have valet parking, but I like to tip a valet and I had no cash. I was told by the valet there is not an ATM in the hospital.... I eventually found parking and made it to the hospital, after that the tests were a breeze. Thank you, Angela

I can't say enough about the facility and staff at this hospital. Both my spouse and myself have had surgery there and kudos to everyone there. From pre ops to the day of surgery, to the overnight stay, EVERYONE was wonderful! I am a nurse and my husband is a physician, so we recognize excellence when we see it. I will recommend this facility to anyone who is in that area needing services.

Excellent care. Dr. Gaines and both nurses were kind, listened, and fixed my issue that had been going on for 3 weeks. There was also a follow up call offering to make appointments with specialists that were recommended at the visit-I have never had follow up like that before!

All in all a positive experience. I arrived almost half an hour before my surgical check in time, but only waited 5 minutes before someone came to get me to begin prepping. Every single staff member: doctors, nurses, assistants and others treated me with friendly respect. They were professional and thorough in their explanations and actions. The IV nurse did an exceptional job putting in both IV ports - painless and successful at first jab!

The entire staff from the ER to the 4th Floor where I stayed for couple nights - are all tremendously kind compassionate in their line of work making sure one is comfortable - assist when possible very helpful but more so very friendly and always smiling when they come to see you in the room. My experience with Dr. Healy and nurse Donna was exemplary. Kindness, medical expertise and human connection made a scary situation more than tolerable. My transportation to my room on the third floor was a different story. After an administrator took me from the Emergency department, I was dropped off and seemingly forgotten. No person around for over 30 minutes, while I was panicked and stressed. I’m happy to say the staff turned it all around the next day, and I received world class treatment for the most part. I believe my bad experience was related to the growing pains the hospital is experiencing, but this a situation that I hope never happens to another patient.

Had a colonoscopy performed recently at the hospital. From the moment I walked in and until the time I left it was a great experience. The nurses, doctors, and admin staff were wonderful to deal with. Everybody was very organized and the whole process went as scheduled. The nurses (in particular Betsy) were simply fantastic, keeping me informed, at ease, and I felt they knew exactly what they were doing. Would have no hesitation scheduling my next colonoscopy at this hospital.

I went to the ER on Jan 17, 2023, for chest pain and after waiting 20 minutes I was called for my vitals. Waited about another 10 minutes to be called to the room #5, The nurse (Eli) didn't even introduce herself to my husband and me. I reminded her more than once that I was allergic to Penicillin which she didn't even bother placing the Red band on my wrist. My son step in to check on me and after being told by her to step out in a very unprofessional way (no TACT) my son left the Hospital not happy. Every time she came in, she left the curtain wide open where I asked her to please close it more than once. Didn't offer to assist me not once to the bathroom. Very pleasant Dr came in to inform me that I was being admitted per my Cardiologist order. Nurse came back in and started disconnecting the IV line very abruptly, no empathy at all. I asked her to please go slowly that I was in pain, her reply was that she was doing her best. Wheeling me up to RM 422 she had nothing to say. Made it to the room and again she started rushing where she dropped the machine that take all vitals, lucky I reacted quick enough grabbing the IV line before it got ripped out of my arm. At that point I asked her to please slow down and why was she being so rough, no reply. The RM Nurse came in and reassure me that she and her Team will take good care of me, and they did. Had never had such a bad experience in my whole life or the many times I been to HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. Nurses like Eli are the ones that give Hospital bad Reviews, but I know better than letting these BAD EXPERIENCE ruin my Love for HCA even though I don't like hospital's visit. Thank You to All Staff from the Top of My Heart. Doing much better :)

The care was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful, putting me at ease, and my colonoscopy was over before I knew it. I just wish the staff had been more willing to let me go afterward. Yes, I was aware of their policy to not release patients who've undergone anesthesia to a car service or public transportation and I lied when I said I had someone to pick me up. I'm sure there's a reason for this policy - likely someone was hurt or taken advantage of in the past and sued. But if I'm willing to sign a waiver releasing the hospital of liability, that should be sufficient. I know I wasn't the only one there that day who didn't have someone to pick them up and stay with them all day. I have friends in the area, but I'm not going to ask any of them to take off work to babysit me unnecessarily. Afterward, I was either ignored or condescended to by the same people who were friendly to me just a few hours earlier. It was as if I'd offended them personally. They said they were concerned for my safety, but why did I feel like enemy number one? Disgust was the feeling I got from them. Again, I understand there's probably good reason for the policy and that I shouldn't have lied. But why the anger and condescension? It would have been 80% better if they'd just tried to understand and admit the real concern was for the hospital's legal department, who instructed them to be so strict in the first place. I'd still have left without a personal ride and escort, but I wouldn't have this bitter taste in my mouth. Also, that policy isn't universal. There are other providers who don't require a ride from someone the patient personally knows. Next time I'll just choose one of them instead.

The hospital was immaculately clean. The staff was cordial and pleasant. The services were performed in a timely fashion. Nobody particularly enjoys hospital experiences, but the atmosphere at this facility made the experience a positive one. Great people, great facility.

I walked into the ER about 1 am and was attended to within a few minutes. All I'm all I was taken back, had exams and diagnostics done and was out within 3 hours. The attention from the front desk, to the attending nurse, and testing tech was super careful and attentive to my needs. Highly highly recommended for Memorial Hospital South Tampa

Easily the best experience I've had at a hospital. From seeing me immediately via ER while everyone else has 5 or 6 hour wait times.. to the care they provided throughout my stay. I'm entirely grateful for HCA and their staff. I was constantly provided for without having to ask.. from meds to food. They're on top of it. I would recommend this hospital to everyone

Just wow! memorial every visit I’ve had has always been great, an amazing staff, clean , just awesome , But last night had me like wow I wish I would of gotten the guys name and the security guard lady names it was so crazy in there last night , people coming up to the desk not being patient after being told it was crowded never once did he lose it , he was calm and polite very professional, he even brought me ice to put on my ankle he was still laughing and making jokes in the midst of the madness sorry I didn’t get your name but memorial he is awesome, the security guard was the sweetest ever, through all the pain they had me with a smile, my hats go off too Dr Madani he was amazing took his time and made sure I understood everything even tho it was busy he greeted me with a smile and left us laughing , the whole staff last night was top notch through all the madness , thank you all for doing what you do and giving such awesome care please don’t change! Monday was a very bad day for me personally. I could hardly walk because of neuropathic pain in my lumbar spine. Living close by, your hospital was as far as I could manage to drive myself to seek treatment. I was extremely scared & in a lot of excruciating pain. I was met by a very busy hospital full of some very difficult patients. I could feel the stressful & busy energy within, it was palatable the minute I walked in. Dr Healy was the ER doctor whom I saw. He was so reassuring, comforting, explanatory, informative & just had exceptional bedside manner. I could tell how busy & understaffed it was that day (likely a feeling hospital administrators don’t want patients to feel), but these days it’s the norm, sadly. I was given a RN who’s home base was a sister location. She was also very caring & sweet under the pressure the busy ER had given her that day. All in all, I was honestly so pleasantly surprised by the amazing care I received from your staff. From the sweet Bills fan doing the admitting paperwork to my transporter (Juan I believe his name was) to my RN Bailey, to the radiology techs, to my DO, Dr Healy, bravo & thank you. They deserve accolades because performing that well under that amount of pressure & stress in today’s world deserves praise & recognition. I hope you see to giving them my gratitude. Upon calling hospital three times I was transferred to Radiology by the Operator, however everytime I selected the appropriate option to schedule I was immediately disconnected. I called Operator back,and inquired if he could take my name, and phone number, and have Radiology call me to schedule. He said he could,and took my information. I never heard from anyone to schedule,so I began looking for another facility. My cardiologist office called,and inquired as to why I had not scheduled. I explained scenario to them,and told them I would try one last time,and if I could not get scheduled I would go elsewhere. I called HCA once more,and was informed a female Operator that I should not have been transferred to Radiology at all,as scheduling is done off-sits,and she provided appropriate number. Called new number,and was able to get scheduled. I was not pleased with my time being wasted. Test itself was very professional, and technician, and RN were awesome!

Everything went well. Dr Joseph and his Staff were great. Nurse Telieen Nurse Sophia and Nurse Bob were very helpful even though they are in need of more Nurses on each shift. Nurse Bob still found time to get me up and walking three times that night. Another Nurse came in once to check on me but I didn't get his name.Even with the staff shortage I still give HCA five stars. My recovery seems to be going well.

I went to the HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital ER recently and was admitted for a further evaluation. Everyone from the front desk sign-in, the ER staff and physicians to the 4th floor nursing staff, technicians, MRI staff, PT and OT, physician consultants were wonderful. Dr. Healy was my ER physician and Dr. Bireddy was my hospitalist. They were knowledgeable, compassionate, helpful and caring. My private room was spacious, large TV and very clean. The menu choice were excellent and very good! I felt like a VIP and I am sure that every patient there was treated as I was.

This Is by far, the best hospital I’ve been treated at. I had a surgical procedure performed on my birthday, and everyone on the staff was so joyful in wishing me a happy birthday. They also came into the preop area as I was being prepared for surgery with a huge birthday card, ballons and the staff coming into wish me a happy birthday. What great memories this has created.

It was a wonderful experience. Preop was easy, Kat is a gem. Operation day was a breeze. Only waited about 15 minutes to be taken back. Nurses were very attentive. I waited a bit long because Dr. Monteiro added me to her busy schedule, no problem. Anastesia was the best I have had at this hospital. Surgery went well. My post op nurse took great care of me. Everyone in the ER was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was in and out within 2.5 hours, and the doctor provided me with the name of a primary care physician I should contact as well as a specialist. While visits to the ER are never fun, this was a 5-star experience.

I was there for a venogram on 09/26. The whole entire staff from the moment I walked into the hospital at the front desk I was greeted with a smile. Everyone was happy and nice and upbeat. And this was 2 days before Hurricane Ian and even during an evacuation order.

Very good experience. Quick, appropriate, and friendly service. Much better than the 2017 experience when I came in on Super Bowl Sunday. There for 4 hours (mostly unattended and probably because they were more interested in the game than me....could have at least let me watch the game with them....I missed the entire game where Tom Brady engineered the greatest comeback in SB history.) released very sick with the flu and rabdo (not diagnosed at that time) and told to take hot shower and I'll be fine in a few days or run the risk of being readmitted. Admitted to another ER hospital the next day which resulted in a 2 day stay of getting my rabdo and flu under control. The kicker was them wanting me to pay a $1,000 bill for their nontreatment, negligence, and putting my life in danger. It appears they have clean their operation up. It appears.....

Still in the waiting room and will follow up on the care as to not associate anyone else with my horrible experience here so far… Everyone so far since getting here has been very nice EXCEPT Danielle who registered my insurance information. In summary Danielle Laughed at me the entire time after saying I was Hispanic right at that point she also got hostile and told me that I needed to get new insurance if I moved here because I gave a Florida address I was staying at which I said was my second home and that I have buisness insurance and buisness up north with my PA address listed on my license I had given her. She said that they could deny the claim if I gave a Florida address that I was staying at now and than I asked to change it to my buisness then and was continued to be mockingly laughed at I asked her to please stop laughing at me at one point after enduring it for awhile saying to please stop and that it was not professional and then she walked out of the room with my insurance card and license for about 5 minutes without saying anything. When she came back she went to security and continued to laugh and talk with him about me as I was recording and she told security guard she NEEDED emphaticly him to sign something on a red clipboard. I then asked where my id and insurance card are and she said she would be back with them and left again and came back and had me sign first for something I could not read without saying what it was then hippa she said and a bunch of other forms that she did explain. Still in waiting room now and they just sent a wheelchair for me to get an X-ray but I have not seen anyone yet still in waiting room and am here with possible rotator cuff tear. I asked tech if this could show that and she said no and said sorry and left to find out why she was sent to take me for x ray when I have not been seen yet and with what I told her my pain and reason for coming. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a registrar ever and am worried she is now impacting my care in retaliation as she was extremely upset which me no matter what I said to her even with saying nice things to deescalate like I just want to follow your advice and thanks for telling me the possible insurance issue. Updated I just got seen by an AMAZING doctor who quickly diagnosed issue and gave me a trigger point injection that worked amazingly and have no more pain in my shoulder changed my review to 3 stars from 1 but can’t under-state how horrible Danielle who registered me was

On Friday Dec 16th, 2023 I went in for my Colonoscopy and I can sum up my experience at the Hospital in one word AWESOME!! From the minute you check in you are greeted by caring understanding people. The pre procedure nurses were Super! They went over every detail and left nothing to chance before I went in for the colonoscopy. This is my 5th one and I must say the Best! The nurses and Anesthesiologist in the Colonoscopy room were also super. I woke up fine with no side effects. Again best one yet. If you need any kind of procedure like I had get your doctor to schedule it there 👍👍👍

I recently had a Kidney Outpatient procedure performed at the Memorial Hospital of Tampa. They could not have been nicer, more efficient, and effective. These are always stressful events in our lives and it really helps that they are calm and in control. I felt safe, I was made comfortable, and respectfully give them my highest recommendation. HCA South Tampa was everything you would expect in a top notch hospital and then some. The hospital is clean and efficient. Above all, they have an absolutely amazing staff. I had day surgery at HCA South Tampa a few weeks ago and unfortunately had persistent nausea after anesthesia. My recovery team went above and beyond to help find a solution. In my previous experiences the nurse would have just said “yeah that sometimes happens after anesthesia”, but not here. My recovery team tried several different methods including medications, crackers, and even aromatherapy to assist. They were of course able to eliminate the issue but what stood out was the way they focused on my well being and comfort. I am a grown woman with children of my own and the comfort my nurse provided was almost mother-like, as if I was the most important and her only concern. The level of care and compassion was exceptional.

Wonderful staff throughout the process. Kind, caring, helpful, informative and non judgmental. The intake or front desk staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The nurses doing my pre op answered any questions I had and made sure I knew what the plan was and what to expect day of and post op. They also ask upfront if you have any concerns about being comfortable post op and if you have any special requests. I did have a few concerns and the staff addressed them wonderfully. After the surgery the nursing staff was amazing. I had to press the call button to be disconnected from IV's and monitoring equipment to go to the bathroom or walk post op to prevent blood clots. Even when I pressed the button at midnight or two am the nursing staff responded within a minute and were also very kind. The facility is also very clean and well maintained. If I could pick this hospital for every time I need a surgery I would pick it.

I had a great experience in your hospital. I have had a lifelong fear of IVs. And five years ago, I met a nurse at your hospital named Christine Selochan, who is so good at what she does, I didn't even feel it go in. Christine has always been patient in allowing me to talk about my fear, she has been reassuring and she's been accomodating and patient, well above and beyond the call of duty. This is the third time she's started an IV on me. This time I had the added benefit of another nurse named Jackie. She was also patient and comforting and helpful. And had no problem when I asked if Christine could be the one to put the IV in. My doctor was great, thankfully my procedure went well, but when I scheduled the procedure, it was actually your nurses that I made sure were there. Top notch people!

Hospital under construction created issues with ac and broken plumbing in my bathroom - that was never addressed. Nurse Taileen was uninterested and inattentive. She watched me accidentally pour water over my gown and blanket while I was still woozy from surgery. Never asked if I needed a dry gown or blanket. I had to ask Jazmine, the nursing assistant to help me. She did with a pleasant attitude. Medications for home were not called into pharmacy and never informed that they wouldn’t be - after providing my pharmacy information at least three times. However, the intake nurse, Steven was delightful and Kimmee really tried to keep stuff together. Ari was very efficient. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC!!

I had the same appointment three times. The first time I can understand as I believe the technician’s father passed away. The second time the machine was broke and the third time finally went mostly as anticipated. While I was in the MRI machine I was going to have contrast done. I was never warned how I would feel once the contrast had been pushed into my body from the IV. So I am laying in this small circular object and all of a sudden my body starts getting warm and I felt like I needed to go to the bathroom. Had the technician warned me ahead of time, I would have been anticipating it but at the moment that it happened, it kind of made me nervous. So maybe next time he should let people know what to be expecting while the test is going on.

I was extremely anxious about the Cardiac CT FFR (Heart Flow) procedure. Being a bit difficult to get my heart rate to the preferred level, increased my anxiety. The Techs performing the procedure, contacted my Cardiologist, via text messages, with photos of BP/heart rate monitor to verify it was OK to complete the procedure. Then they explained every step in details, the Contrast/Nuclear Infusion and physical effects I may be experiencing and did not rush to get the test done, like techs at other locations. Needless to say, this helped me make it through the procedure and am so grateful to both of them for being so kind, patient and making me feel they truly cared about me. This procedure was one of several I had to complete prior to lung surgery next month. They were the nicest and kindest of all the other technicians I had had contact with.

I told her my name and that I was scheduled for surgery 10:00 she calmly ask me to sit down and someone would be with me.I sat there not even a minute and I think her name was Michelle she came out and greeted me with a warm greeting and preceded to take me back to my room where she explained everything to me.. fast-forward everybody that took apart in my surgery came out and introduced themselves to me and my husband they told us the role that they will play doing my surgery the anesthesiologist explain to me about what he was going to do and he will be in the surgery room with me to make sure everything is going as planned.. I absolutely loved him !! Very cute Dr to lol lol.Dr Garlik then came out and greeted my husband and I and explain to us what he was going to do to my right knee after each of the nurses surgeon and all finish talking they all ask my husband and I did we have any questions...after that all I knew is the nurse call my name I responded and she told me that my surgery went great everything was over and every thing went great and as planned The sweetest young lady I think her name was Isabel. Isabel took very very, very ,very great care of me. Isabel did it with no complaints Isabelle had the biggest smile the whole while she worked with me very compassionate, such a sweet heart she's very caring when ready to be discharged she did not want me doing nothing she helped me got completely dressed she put me in the wheelchair and roll me out to the car as my husband awaited for me to get there. What's in the car Isbelle told me it was a pleasure working with me and if I needed anything please call her. Isabel wished me well. I cannot Thank the staff at memorial surgery center enough for taking such great care of me and keeping my husband informed of every step of the way during the surgery process. I truly thank you all!!! and NOT that I ever want a knee replacement again but if I ever do. My treatment at Memorial Hospital was above and beyond my expectations. After a short interview with a triage nurse, I was escorted to an examination room. Very quickly, a nurse inserted an IV and made sure that I was comfortable. Blood was examined in the laboratory and a CT scan was done shortly after that. The doctor had an excellent bedside manner and before the scan was completed, agreed to let me go and that he would call me later with those results. Happily, I was not having an appendicitis and the ER doctor did call to give me a quick summary of what he saw on the CT scan. I would highly recommend this ER for anyone needing emergency care.

Dr. Healy was great! Super calming and awesome bedside manor. Walked us through every step of what was going on and why. Updated: I am not happy about some outcomes since I visited. I was not taken seriously when I said my hand and wrist were also hurting from am accident. I have just recently found out that my wrist that wasn't assessed has a ligament tear that may have to be surgically repaired. Not happy about this miss!! Had we caught it and immobilized it immediately, the doctor doesn't think I would have had to go the surgical route.

I stayed overnight and the majority of the staff was really nice. The only issues I had was that I had to tell about 6 or 7 diff nurses that one of my IVs was bleeding and finally it was removed. Had a little bit of and issue with the nurses station actually communicating with my nurse when I pressed the help button. I gave a 4 because the 2nd to the last nurse I had was amazing. She made my 1st stay in a hospital a pleasant experience.

The woman at the front information desk was a controlling nasty person. I walked in, knew where I was to go, and was on my way, but she called me back to ask if I needed help and then wasted my time with her nonsense. When you're about to have a procedure done, believe me you're not in the mood for her. The rest of the staff was wonderful, kind, and very attentive. Thus the four stars. Lots of ladies named Elizabeth working there. It was a fun pass time chatting about nick names waiting for my turn. Those nurses pulled the score up. Very knowledgeable and nice too.

The imaging department at Memorial Hospital is stellar! From the staff at the front desk to the mammography technician and ultrasound technician, all personnel were engaging, attentive, and compassionate. Questions were answered respectfully and with care. The physical layout and decor are pleasant and soothing. There was a place for the family member to sit close to the treatment room beyond the general waiting room. COVID protocols of course were carefully followed. I was the family member in this visit but will return for all my own imaging needs.

I had two eye surgeries at this hospital and I cannot thank enough to the Doctors, nurses and team that took care of me on October 20, and 27 of 2021. First, to my awesome ophthalmologist specialist in Ocular surface and dry eye, Dr Steven Maskin, M.D. who is my hero and my Doctor who treats my eye problem and did the two eye surgeries. My experience at Tampa Memorial Hospital was the most thorough, fast, professional I have received in a very long time. After being admitted and having an ultrasound, MRI, Cat scan and Nuclear med scan, I was put on the 2nd floor. My Nurse Julie on the day shift was amazing and so attentive. My night nurse Phil and the rest of the staff day and night were wonderful as well. Anything I needed was taken care of quickly.

A critical health issue (stroke) that started with an ER visit turned into a 3 night stay. This would be a very long review if I had to mention every individual that came in touch with us by name (Drs, nurses, radiologists, therapists, etc). I cannot praise enough the level of compassionate care that we received. After considering heading to TGH or St Jo's, we decided to go for Memorial Hospital (being smaller, more personable and close). At the ER we were seen right away with proper diagnostic work and follow-up neurologist tele-consult being performed timely. No waiting in a dark hallway lining up for the MRI machine or for the attending to be available. Everything was stat. Once admitted, we got a proper consult with a top-rated neurologist (NO RESIDENTS) who intimately knew our case, carefully plotted and explained a treatment plan. All the nurses and staff at the floor are amazing, knowledgeable (they really knew what was going on and had a great level of communication), not a single blemish during our stay. The difference between a community hospital and a large one is huge. We're not just another patient in a long list. I will definitely make Memorial Hospital my first choice for urgent care (unless my brains are oozing out of my skull). On this Thanksgiving day, I'm thankful for absolutely everyone at Memorial Hospital for getting my wife home today. My only complaint is that they dropped "Memorial Hospital" with the new branding. I couldn't find it on Google maps... Got there by following the H signs on the road.

Hospital visits always seem to be scary (at least for me) specially when you’re going in for a procedure/surgery. I have never heard of this hospital, and it was the one available to proceed with my procedure due to COVID restrictions. I didn’t want to wait any longer so I accepted. I’m glad I did, everyone from the valet personal to the very last nurse who wheeled me out was courteous, kind and considerate. I never felt pressured to hurry or ignored when I needed them. The facilities are very cleaned and spacious, offering enough adequate room for all. Kudos to Dr. Peden and her team ☺️ what my fiancé and I admired the most, is that she offered to pray with us before my surgery 😭 that was confirmation! that God was present through the entire process. Her prayer was a blessing and brought peace to our hearts.

They all acted with the utmost professionalism and I felt well cared for. They each had their own 'ways' of doing things but was evident at all times that they all respected one another and worked well together. I loved my nurses! The food, however, was rather yucky and I did not eat much while there.

My night nurse and aid both treated me like I was bothering them when I asked for pain medication. When I came out of the restroom my night nurse was there so I asked her if she could help me lift my legs into the bed, and she did it with an attitude...I had a hernia repair/removal and gastric bypass surgery....the doctor had to cut into my stomach muscle so it was painful getting in and out of bed. I couldn't wait for their shift to be over.

All the nurses and attending physicians were on their best game and made my stay as comfortable as they could. The cafeteria on the other hand was less than pleasant. I received a lecture both times I was late ordering. One time was due to a procedure being done and the other was I had dozed off due to medication. Additionally the pharmacy closes at night and the doctors were unable to provide me items to reduce my discomfort with eye drops.

I had major surgery at Memorial Hospital and it was my first time visiting this hospital as a patient. They are so on top of everything and don't miss anything needed for you to have a smooth surgery date and speedy , peaceful recovery. The pre-op intake team was very friendly and prompt.. Kimberly in diagnosis is a true gem. My pre-op nursing team was great and made me feel very comfortable before surgery. The nursing staff both AM and PM were by far the best nursing staff I have encountered in any hospital. They made my recovery so good and was there for my every need. You buzzed them and they came right away. My night nurse Shalee was so polite and caring to my needs. She really cares about her patients. My day time nurse Kaitlynn was just as sweet as her! They both are knowledgeable and has plenty of bed side manner. I would recommend this hospital to anyone that needs to have surgery. You will love your room-- it was HUGE! Everything was beautiful- looked brand new and the AC was amazing! My room had a huge TV and good cable channels. Thank you for all that you all do for your patients. Dr.Richard DiCicco and the entire surgery team were extremely professional. They were precise and explaining to me step-by-step what they were going to do before I was put to sleep, while I was sleeping , and what to expect once I woke up. The entire Hospital staff was so loving, attentive, and caring. Considering I did have major surgery, and this was a hospital stay, I must admit this was the best hospital stay I ever experienced. Except when I gave birth to my first child in 1998. I take my hat off to the entire staff from the main desk when entering the hospital, the administrative assistant who checked me in to surgery, the prep and charge nurses who assisted in getting me ready for surgery, the anesthesiologist, the angel of a nurse who was able to find veins in my arm without making me a pin cushion, the nursing staff in recovery, to the nursing staff on the main hospital floor who took care of me my two days stay in the hospital . Most importantly Dr.Richard DiCicco ! I could not have asked for a better, more caring, and professional staff. Thank you.

I had gotten COVID, like a lot of people. The Nurses did an awesome job of keeping me comfortable and informed about what I can do to assist in getting rid of the covid. The Doctors were okay, when they came in, they did give me a very "GENERAL" update of my condition and were extremely brief. It made it harder to ask questions and inquire about other issues. When i went in, I told everyone straight out, I had no insurance and not much money at that time. They still took me in and took care of me. I was very surprised. However, when I left, they really didn't give me much information about my condition. They gave me a list of mediations to take, which weren't expensive. Such as, I had a super high sugar count, and a very high blood pressure. Although they gave me names of doctors, since I had very little money and no insurance, none of the doctors would talk to me. So, i was very disappointed in the lack of information and direction to go in. I will have to wait a few months, when the market opens up, or I get a job with some form of health insurance in order to get the items looks at or seriously taken care of. Overall, even without funds or insurance the hospital took very good care of me. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone who needs help.

We were in a car accident and my husband was brought into the ER by ambulance, I drove the car to the ER. They didn’t allow me to go inside with him and I had to wait for my turn, so my husband was done and had to wait 50 minutes in the ER waiting room for me while in pain. I am so impressed with the treatment and care that my family member has received here. The facility is very clean and the staff has been amazing. Every single employee that we have had contact with has been very professional, friendly/outgoing, and extremely helpful. Staff actually greet you whenever they see you or pass you in the hallways...I don't get that at my own Dr's office! They all seem to really enjoy and appreciate their jobs. Kudos to the management team here for obviously driving excellent patient care, presenting a clean and organized facility and making excellent hiring selections. Take care of the employees here at this facility....they really go the extra mile and make your facility a shining star. My only negative feedback would be on the cafe. The food isn't great and very, very few choices. The staff in there were all very nice as well. I am sure being a small hospital, it is hard to manage the cafe and not have a lot of food wasted but it could really benefit from some changes to provide more choices and tastier selections.

From beginning to end, every person is friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and efficient. I have a yearly diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, therefore, my test results are read immediately by a radiologist and shared with me BEFORE I even leave the facility. One cannot buy peace of mind. Additionally, this facility provides 3D digital mammogram imaging, which is the best quality available today. I was admitted to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital in Tampa after having a migraine for 7 days while on vacation. I had nothing left in my stomach, was dizzy, and thought I was going to lose it. After about 30 minutes or so after checking in, I met the doctor who was nice. He said he would get an IV going soon to help with pain, although it seemed to take a very long time for it to come, and the nurse apologized for the delay. He was extremely sweet and caring!!! His name was Alexander. He put me at ease and finally I was able to be released late that afternoon after arriving there in the morning. All in all, I was pleased with the care I received at Memorial. Both the doctor and the nurse were wonderful. My only complaint would be that it took so long for the IV to be delivered to me.

Everything went okay. I didn’t get to meet one of my Doctors or I didn’t meet them when I was awake. Dr Rhoades was very personable, Dr Carling breezed thru, talked too fast and I wasn’t awake if Dr Watkins came in. One of the workers in the radiology department did not wear her mask correctly. She had her mask around her neck. She did put it up when I asked her to. Things were fine but it was kind of cattle car medicine.

From the moment I arrived in the ER with severe indigestion, the entire team from the initial triage assessment until I was transferred to Memorial Hospital worked with the utmost urgency and reassurance that they were working to figure out what was wrong. I ended up being diagnosed with a heart attack and was within hours in the cardiac cath lab getting 4 balloons and 2 stents in my heart. I was transferred to the ICU for observation and released 2 days later. The entire staff from the housekeepers, techs, phlebotomists, RN’s and Dr Stauffer and his team were top notch and I am incredibly blessed and privileged to have been saved and cared for by all of them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ( now that it’s been repaired) and I’m working on my recovery strategies moving forward.

I had an outpatient procedure done at MemorIal. From intake to the recovery room, every staff member with whom I had the pleasure of interacting was helpful, courteous, professional, and kind. I was nervous about having my heart cath done, and the nurses and technicians took the time to ensure I understood the procedure and was at ease knowing I was in their hands. (In fact, as I was prepped for the procedure, I asked about the monitors and information/readings they showed. The tech cheerfully shared the details and walked me through everything as we waited for the doctor. The tech even walked me through the anatomy showing in my images after and humored my fascination with the technology!) The recovery nurse made me feel like her only patient. She was sweet, thoughtful, and made my two-plus hour recovery time a pleasure. She also ensured that I understood my post-procedure instructions, and reviewed them with my family in room and on the phone to be doubly sure that I had a support system to guide my care at home. I had a choice as to where my procedure would be performed and I chose Memorial. I’m so very glad I did, and I will certainly choose the hospital again for future healthcare needs.

The good: they did a great job taking care of me and did a great job with the procedure. The important things you need from a hospital, this hospital has. If you're a patient, you don't need to read on because that's all that matters. The bad: there was some confusion about me signing in, they seemed to have lost me in the system. They also needed me to call to set up a follow-up instead of just scheduling one like dentists or other doctors do. These were minor problems that got sorted and should not impact decisions or impressions, just throwing it out in hope they improve. Overall great experience!

What can I say, this place is amazing. During a series of unfortunate events of me passing out and getting whisked away through the ambulance(which were also great)the staff here at Memorial Hospital went above and beyond. They treated me like family and I’m forever grateful and in depth for caring for me. The only negative I have was what happened today. Normally when I was discharged from the ER, I would wait in the designated waiting area. Needless to say on this day, the two ladies that were working on 01/06/2021 around 1:15pm (one had black hair with glasses pulled back ponytail a green uniform and the other one was blonde and short with a pulled ponytail in a blue uniform)were very rude to me and three other women in the waiting area. According to CBC standard, only 10 people can be in the same room at 6 feet apart. THERE WERE ONLY FOUR OF US! six if you count the two rude workers. They told us we had to wait outside. Now what if it was raining or freezing cold that day. The fact that they were the first people you see when you come in puts a bad name for this hospital. The other times that I was here the front people were very pleasant. These two that were there today should be ashamed of themselves. Overall, my experience here is A+. I highly recommended getting treatment here.

I absolutely love this hospital! Dr.Healy is actually the first the doctor that actually listened to me. I recently moved back to Tampa from Atlanta and started having health issues and the doctors in Atlanta literally ignored me. But with Dr. Healy he literally got a sticky note and a pen & started writing down all my health issues. The surgery was no issues. Only problem is the young nurse putting in IV pick lines. It's been over a week now. And my left hand is still in deep pain very very swollen and every fours as the nurse gave pain meds. They set it on fire jamming meds in so fast. Even after I told them several times. The 11 pm nurse was only one that cared enough. To slow down. And give them slowly. The other 3 shifts could careless. I mean really they could see the pick line was messed up. My hand all puffed up. Really left bad taste with me.

The day staff was fabulous. They were caring, at your side when needed. Now the night shift was a total different experience. If you call them, it would take calling them twice and still had to wait at least 20 minutes before they should up. They disconnected my IV so I could go for a walk. I came back let them know and then fell asleep. I woke up 2 hours later to find out that my IV was still disconnected. So I call them again and it took 34 minutes more for someone to come and connect me to the IV. Considering I just had surgery and needed to be hydrate, what can I say. Simple terrible service. I left the hospital the next morning as soon as I could.

I recently came to Memorial Hospital ER Tampa with severe pain in my abdominal area. They were quick to get me in to be examined. I required a blood test prior to be given any pain medication, but within 20 minutes of arrival, pain medication was given. I was admitted for surgery. Looking back, I was really well taken care of from the moment I walked in to when I left 48 hours later. ER staff, surgery staff and nursing were at the top of their game and I could feel their profession was one they chose because they care so much. I was impressed by all departments as each one performed their expertise that made me sit back and say " they got this" and I just watched in amazement how they worked as a team. The staff was courteous and professional and tended to my needs appropriately. There seemed to be a disconnect between the hospital and my surgeon and his staff. I was given an arrival time but not my surgery time so I ended up arriving nearly 3.5 hours prior to my scheduled surgery time. In any event, this was my second procedure here and I’d follow my surgeon anywhere, I suppose.

Have been to the Emergency care several times throughout the years. I have always found the staff to be competent and friendly with an exception of one or two individuals who just aren't personable or don't like germs. The waiting room is usually always empty as the check-in process is speedy and efficient. Within minutes you are taken into the unit and admitted into the care facility to be seen by nurses, doctors and billing, of course. I will continue to use the urgent care at Memorial as I have always felt I have received the immediate and necessary care while there.

I felt that the entire staff were looking out for me to insure that my visit was a pleasant one.The anesthesiologist Dr. Gray was very thorough and concerned for my well being and Dr. Mason was the best. I don't usually take the time to leave a review but this time I feel that it is really important that I do. Some of the reviews I read on here frightened me because I was having surgery at Memorial Hospital on 4/13. I thought it was a good idea to check out the reviews since I usually have procedures in Tampa done at Tampa General. There were bad reviews left by a few...mostly about the staff being unfriendly or unprofessional. My guard was up from the moment I walked in the door that early morning for an 8:30 surgery. From the very 1st person that checked me in... to the nurse that made sure I got to the car safely, this was by far an incredibly caring and thoughtful medical staff. They even honored my request (without question) to have my IV in my arm and not my hand. Anyone that says this medical staff is unprofessional, uncaring, or any other negative feedback is not speaking from an unbiased opinion. To the medical personnel that took care of me: you have my personal "Thank you" for making a scary procedure as pleasant as possible. Thank you for putting my mind at ease and answering all of my questions. and thank you for being so caring and thoughtful. Two weeks post-op and I'm doing great! :-)

I travelled 3 hours (one way) for a specific surgeon (Dr. Hyun Suh) who was affiliated with MH of Tampa. To be honest the hospital didn’t really factor into my decision at all. Shortly after scheduling my surgery, MHofT contacted me for preregistration, it was soooooo easy. They had basically all my info, had coordinated everything with my doctor, offered a text based service for my friends and family to be ‘connected’ to my progress, answered all my questions. I was impressed and it helped relive some of the stress. Upon arrival my nurse Kathy REALLY helped. My nerves were high and she tended to every need+ it made the time from arrival to surgery less stressful. ❤️ The hospital was clean, the staff was amazing, Covid protocols were followed to a T, my family member was allowed to stay with me yo until I left - I have nothing bad to report. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Husband had surgery in the "outpatient surgical unit" and it was fantastic. Absolutely nothing to complain about. It was professional, clean, the safety procedures followed perfectly. The family waiting room had breakfast muffins and fresh coffee stocked. It was comfortable and very tidy. Loved the Status Board you can see updates on to know where your loved is in the process. Everyone was very nice and quick and efficient.

I had the most amazing hospital experience in my life. I went there for labs and diagnostics, and the excellent service started with the free valet. It was my first time there and I was lost. I asked the valet gentleman if I was in the right area, he wasn’t sure but he still managed to direct me to the front desk for information. Once I got to the desk, the nurse further helped me and had another gentleman assist with me registration. This was 7 in the morning and everyone was chipper and friendly. The gentleman checked me in and then escorted my husband and I to the laboratory. From there we could see they kept coffee, muffins, and cookies in the waiting area and offered us some. I could go on, but overall it was very pleasant and they got my labs and ultrasound done within the hour.

I firsthand can say that the claims are accurately on-point, TGH is one of the best hospitals in all of the nation. After being diagnosed of having my 2nd set of TIA’s in a span of 7 1/2 years, I was transferred from two other facilities prior to hunkering down for an extensive series of tests, procedures and evaluations from an all-star cast of a team of Doctors, nurses, technicians & aids, excellence displayed at every level. In spite of the non-stop craziness in the daily duties of an hospital, I was so impressed with how the Doctors & nurses were so detailed and accommodating. All discussions were lengthy, thorough and descriptive. I felt like a student of medicine once the doctors left my room on their daily rounds. BEDSIDE MANNER is alive and kicking at TGH!! The team assured me that I would not be discharged until they were 100% confident that every stone would not be left unturned for my diagnosis. Due to the complexity and ambiguity of my condition, this put my concerns at ease. Major kudos to Dr. Guerrero. I received an unexpected Monday late night visit in my room.He expressed that he was completing my report, struggling over the sequences of my bout. My first thought was why in the world was he still working? His genuine concern along with his dedicated diligence was second to none. All of the nurses, techs, directors, therapists & hospital staff were incredible at their tasks but a few notable individual mentions have to be directed to Dr. West, Dr. Rose, Najet, Natacha, Giana, Kim & Ebony. Thank you to all who collectively made a very stressful situation a pleasant one.

The food was ok, not knowing the cut off time to place the menu order and having staff confused about it could have made my stay more pleasant. This was actually addressed without me bringing it up the following day. Had Nutrition supervisor visit to see how it was going, explained the concern and it was taken care of but left that same day. Overall it was a good experience being my first time at this hospital.

First and foremost the care I received on PCU WAS SECOND to none. Nurses and techs were awesome. I was started on dialysis, and the only complaint I have is with case mgmt. They didn't start setting up outpatient dialysis until I was 2 weeks into treatments, which caused me to sit in the hospital an extra 3 days. I was in the hospital for 23 days, had 7 dialysis treatments. They need to get on things like that earlier.

I had a wonderful surgical experience and recovery. Each department had caring and concerned individuals from admissions who took special time to sure that I was prepared and I stood the special preop instructions, to Anesthesia, who met with me beforehand and ordered individualized medication to be sure I was pain and nausea free, with no opiates, as requested, to the incredibly personable and attentive nursing staff, and the dining service, medical assistants/ CNA’s and cleaning staff who went out of their way every day to encourage me and be sure I was comfortable and maintained dignity in every way. I have had surgery at a few other Tampa Bay hospitals, and so I can tell you in my experiences, Memorial Hospital is incredible -a trend setter and a standard for other facilities to emulate! Thank you! And also to Dr Hoyte, my surgeon, and his staff who made me feel like a VIP each step of the way.

After waiting 2+ hrs at another emergency room we called Memorial Hospital. We spoke to Katie and she said she would prepare for our arrival. I was in excruciating pain and needed immediate medical care. The second I walked in the door Katie took care of me. Although the staff was extremely busy they treated me right away. The nurses and doctors were so kind and patient. I was treated like a human being rather than a bother and annoyance like the prior ER. I hope I never have to return to the ER yet if need be this will be the place I go to. I am so grateful and thankful for all who took care of me.

I went in for total knee replacement of my right knee just 7 weeks after my left knee was done. This experience was not as great as the first, but only because of a PRN night nurse I had. (Forgot name but for hospital purposes worked night shift, 3rd floor, 11/21). She insisted she was just too busy to get me up to walk, but then came to my room telling me she finished writing her Christmas cards at the nurses station. I was very disappointed by this. My first stay, Bob was amazing and took me out for multiple walks. This was just one portion on my stay however. Other than this particular nurse, my stay was quite amazing. This is and always will be my hospital of choice. Special thanks to all the others there assisting me from pre-op through my discharge.

Let me start by saying that I am totally indebted to Tampa General Hospital for saving the lives of my three children when they were struck by a runaway vehicle several years ago. I love the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in the lifesaving treatments. However, I had a kidney stone that was excruciatingly painful and went to the THG ER for help. I was triaged right away and told that since I was in such pain, I would be moved to the front of the line to get meds and much needed pain relief. Four hours later, I was still in agony and waiting to be called back. I decided to call Memorial Hospital to find out what the wait time was for the ER. I was told to check out their website for an accurate wait time. When I did, I found that the wait time was only 3-minutes. 3-MINUTES!!!! I immediately got up and walked to the elevator, with my blood pressure cuff still attached to my arm. I got in my car and drove the few minutes to Memorial Hospital. I was taken in immediately and within just a few short minutes was getting the pain meds I so desperately needed. I had a CT scan to confirm my kidney stones (I have about 10 more behind this one) and was given a prescription to help with any residual pain. Thank goodness for that because the pain was terrible for two more days, until the stone finally passed. Thank you to the doctor, nurses, and staff at Memorial Hospital for getting me treated, and relieved of my pain, so quickly.

Cannot say enough great things about the ER at Memorial Hospital. My husband was having severe sciatica pain. We were afraid he may have had a clot in his calf because the pain there was so bad. It was about 10 pm when we got to hospital. Parked right by door, no problem. Taken immediately. The staff was fantastic, from the intake nurse at reception to the ER nurses, doctor, ultrasound tech (who got called in from home) and finally the lady taking our information and payment. And a plus was we got a 20% discount because we made immediately!! Also, no blood clot! Doctor gave my husband medicine and referred us to follow up with orthopedist. We would highly recommend this ER! In and out within two hours. 😊

Not a facility I would like to return to...the nurses were nice (for the most part) but the ER facility was pretty shabby with attendants too busy to be of any help when I came in with a kidney stone causing extreme pain. Once they got me upstairs into bed some of the nurses were responsive, some not. The guy who tried to insert my IV needle didn't seem to know what he was doing, made a mess of my arm, and had to call a nurse. I think my doctor (DR. Brunelle) was great as always, but unfortunately the facility is not.

From the security woman who helped us get a wheel chair, to the intake personnel to the ER nurses and docs , this place and its staff is amazing . The housekeepers, the Manager of Nutritional services , all nurses...... like I said everyone was amazing and very caring. Great care , great doctors!

My mom just had surgery at Memorial Hospital. The surgery went very smoothly. We met with the surgeon, Anesthesiologist, CRNA's and pretty much everyone that was going to be in the operating room. They were all friendly and willing to answer any questions without seeming annoyed or rushed. Now, onto post-op. The room was very clean and roomy and the nurses were very friendly and efficient. Everyone seemed to go over and beyond to make my mom feel comfortable. Each person that entered the room instantly put had sanitizer on which was much appreciated. The selections of food on the menu was amazing; we've never seen such a big selection (chicken parmesan, tilapia, carrot cake, various soups, many side items, cheesecake, big salad selections, I could go on and on). My mom was not feeling very well after surgery so she special ordered a few items and they quickly brought it to her....just like room service. :) My mom wouldn't stop talking about how good the food tasted. I cannot say enough about the staff of this hospital. I do not understand the negative reviews about this hospital, unless the ER is a total different experience. We had 3 different directors/administrators check in to be sure my mom had a good experience. We would highly recommend this hospital!

I was admitted through the emergency room for severe back/leg pain for a 48 hour stay. While there, I had both a CT scan and MRI. From the moment entering the ER on a Sunday afternoon to discharge on Tuesday, my experience at Memorial Hospital was outstanding. One hears horror stories about weekend hospital visits, but my experience was polar opposite. Dr. Healy in the ER was calm and caring, and got my acute pain under control. Nurse Steve who was assigned to me that Sunday was caring and attentive. But, then again, that was my experience with everyone I encountered, including Mark in MRI who patiently worked with me on two tries to get my scan done through the pain. It appears to me that the hospital must focus attention on the personal encounter because I was not treated like a body in a bed, but a patient worthy of respect and care. Kudos to the staff at Memorial!

This has been the most awesome place. My son was brought in with a life threatening condition. Faster than I could get here from Naples they had him in surgery. The ICU staff were so accommodating and on point at all times. His nurse Tony has made him feel very comfortable! All guests treated as if the nurses were here for us as well. Those locals who visited all commenting on how much nicer this hospital is over others and how they will be coming here. Thank you for the remarkable staff here!!!!!!!!!! I rate this place #1. Good experience. Everyone was nice. Great nurses. They all gave me great care. Gall bladder surgery was successful...no complications. I didn't find the place to be dirty as another reviewer stated. It's an older, smaller hospital and a little dowdy, but nothing terrible, or even bad, at all.
