Honor Health Shea took Amazing care of my daughter this morning! We had spent 8+ hours at another hospital waiting to be seen with no regard for my daughter’s wellbeing.
When we arrived at Honor Health they were very friendly. We only waited 8 minutes for a room.
Both the nurse, (Jason), and the Doctor (Benjamin) took Excellent care of my daughter.
AND they both had a Great sense of humor!
If you are looking for a hospital with staff who care about your children, this is the place to go.

Recently had our first baby at HonorHealth Shea Scottsdale and our experience while in the hospital was amazing. Excellent bedside service and knowledgeable staff. I absolutely adored my labor nurse Peggy. She was so patient and nurturing with me through my entire delivery and afterwards. Literally an Angel and earth. I also had great nurses in our postpartum room as well who took great care of baby and I. My only complaint is that someone from the billing department of the hospital called us not even two hours after we got home to collect the bill. I understand it’s a business and they have to make their money but we didn’t even have our bags or anything unpacked yet. She was pushing to collect full payment and when we said we needed to discuss our finances first, she then pushed for 50%. We are in no way trying to get out of our bill but it’s overwhelming when you just get home with your baby and have so many doctor’s spots pending and look forward to and of course each one has a cost so my husband and I needed to discuss what we could afford towards the hospital bill at this time. When we told the lady this, she seemed irritated and replied that she would be notating our account as a “refusal to pay”. This just really bummed out our experience unfortunately and is why I rated 4 stars.

The doctors are very detailed, patient, understanding, and mostly super sweet. I can’t begin to tell u about the nurses. Every single nurse I had was amazing. I was there three weeks and all the nurses were incredible. The hospital is very clean, my room and bathroom cleaned daily. The food was also very good. Definitely recommend.

When we walked into admin, we were impressed how updated and well kept it was. The staff was helpful and friendly. The nurses from the beginning to the end were terrific. The were caring and very helpful. The doctors and the nurses doing the procedure were very knowledgeable, courteous and caring. Overall I cannot say enough about how my experience. If I had to choose a hospital, it would always be an HonorHealth hospital.

Excellent experience at Honor health. Every aspect of my procedure went very smooth. The nurses and doctors were very professional, efficient and kind to me. The nurses who took care of me (especially Ana) made me feel so comfortable and pleasant, I felt like I was leaving a family member when I went home. Thanks to the whole Honor health family for a very good experience.

Can't say enough good things about this hospital. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. They really put me at ease beings I was nervous about my procedure. Dr. Scribner is the most happy and energetic person I've ever met and really knows his stuff! His nurses are wonderful as well. I could go on and on. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Friendly staff. The rooms are dated but very nice nonetheless there is plenty of room. The staff seems very on point and friendly.
Would recommend this hospital over others I have been to in the valley.

My care was good. My first nurse Connie told me I was calling her a lair a couple times. I told her I thought I had to have a bowel move movement. That's when she told me that I wouldn't and that I was calling her a lair. I told her I wasn't trying to say that but I just had pressure. Tammy my nurse was
Awsume. Very kind and helpful. I think for me at least a 24 stay would have been better that the short time I was sent home.

I had surgery at The Piper Surgery Center. Everyone was wonderful, professional and caring. It is a very clean facility and you are given care with patience and kindness. I must mention my wonderful nurses Hulda and Connie who went above and beyond to make me feel secure and comfortable.
Victoria Baumann
This facility is an amazing place to go for my procedure. The staff is helpful and friendly. And the nurses that took care of me were professional and so kind. Everyone who was involved with my care was amazing and I so appreciated that since it is a scary thing to be there in the first place. Thank you all for your kind help to get through my surgery
Courtney Eiland
I cannot say enough about my experience. I had surgery recently here and every single person that assisted me from prep and pre-op to recovery and finally discharge. They took care of me, eased my mind, were SO kind, gentle and patient with me and I had all confidence and no doubts in any of their abilities. I am so so grateful to have chosen this facility to operate on me. Thank you so much.
Judith Atkinson
The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, attentive and professional. You know you are being truly cared for. My doctors were incredibly skilled and also personable - a rare combination. The facility itself has very pleasant rooms, state of art, and could - gasp- give hospital food a great reputation. You are in good hands here.

Shea hospital is wonderful! All staff are Angels, providing excellent care start to finish. I felt incredibly supported, heard, cared for throughout my hospital stay. Doctors, nurses, Care Techs, even cleaners were sweet, positive and caring. Comfortable private room and bed. Decent food, salmon was yummy. Highly recommend Shea to anyone!

Everyone was so nice and helpful. Anita is an awesome nurse she really calmed me down prior to my surgery. The nurses who took care of me in recovery and overnight were wonderful. (Julie, Laura, Anu. and Jennifer ) Can’t thank them enough for taking such good care of me.
Pam “Ramblin Pam”
I spent some time at Honor Health Shea. I received great care while I was there. Prior to my surgery, I met with my ostemy nurse, Loraine. She answered all of our questions prior to surgery and stopped in every day after surgery to teach me what I needed to know so I could be confident in caring for myself after I went home. My surgeon, Dr Hall was excellent. All of the employees had only good things to say about her. I'll have to agree! She also stopped in every day. She always spent as much time as I needed. She never made me feel like she was rushed, ( even though I know she's really busy) My main nurse, Andrea went above and beyond when my ostemy nurse asked her to order Marshmallows from the cafeteria for me to have in the morning for a procedure. I know it sounds strange, but trust me it worked! The cafeteria doesn't have Marshmallows so after working a 12 hr shift, Andrea stopped at the store on her way home and brought me a baggie of Marshmallows in the morning. That was the sweetest thing ever, I really appreciated it. I have to give Honor Health Shea Hospital two thumbs up!

I say with absolute confidence the good docs & wonderful nurses at Honor Health Shea can be relied upon 24/7. They’ve saved my life & I’ve had 9 surgeries in 20 months. Always incredibly caring staff. Easy reliable decision to use their excellent services

LOTS OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. I have messaged the hospital administrator to discuss their treatment of patients but not heard back. After 6 visits here in 5 months I have some feedback to offer. The consensus is that this was a great hospital years ago, not so popular now. I recommend not getting sick if you live close by. Or, move closer to a better hospital.

This was an excellent choice for my surgery and care. I wish I could remember all the names of the dedicated nurses and staff that made me feel cared for … I really want to thank them all for slowly explaining things I didn’t understand- even if it was the name of medication that was unknown to me. I would highly recommend this hospital for others! The only thing I didn’t like was the imitation Kleenex tissue box - bring your own- my sister used it to write down the tv channels for me so it had some uses!
Thanks again the Shea Hospital doctors and staff. SS

I am a Senior citizen and l have been a patient at Honor Health on numerous occasions including my most recent visit for outpatient surgery. My procedure went perfectly and my post op stay was a pleasant experience. I strongly recommend this facility to anyone that requires medical or surgical attention. It is a 5 star hospital complex.

Kelly was my new best friend, she was assigned to me for my initial visit and walked me through the entire process!! The whole
staff made scheduling easy and understandable. Lauren was so welcoming for my visits and was so excited to help me get through my workouts. Couldn't recommend this place more if my life depended on it....and it does.

The Honor Health system is a well oiled machine!!!!!!! I have absolutely no complaints. From the time I arrived to the time I checked out. They were very professional very attentive and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to choose this hospital (Honor Health Shea) I would strongly suggest that you do the same:) A great big thank you to the entire staff.. You guys rock!

Outstanding patient care from the moment you walk in until your leaving to go home. The doctors , nurses and everyone in between were caring and took great care of me. They kept my loved ones informed the entire time reassuring them of my condition.

From the moment I walked in the door to my discharge, every aspect of my prostate surgery was perfect. Staff is friendly but very professional. They work as an efficient team from preop to recovery, making the patient experience as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend this facility!

I was so stressed out internally emotionally with my husband having surgery and it was a risky one at that with His E. F. Being so low in the 30’s At the last minute, in the hospital I should say the Doctors changed it up instead of a Mild Anesthesia it would be a General Anesthesia that they would be performing.
I was scared to death once they put him under General Anesthesia that he might not come back to us. When all of a sudden a get a “ TEXT” saying they just wheeled him into the operating room and they would be starting.
I was like I had never heard a hospital doing that! I thought that was nice and than 20 minutes later another text saying , “ he’s doing good”! I was like
“ WOW! how nice and I was so impressed with how thoughtful and caring they were to my husband and myself sending that “TEXT” to me . For the first time I felt at peace he’s going to make it and he “DID”!
Thank you again for those texts they were a great comfort.
Jenny Tobin
Excellent communication from pre-op to post op. Every person that I interacted with was very kind and helpful which helped me stay relaxed until I was wheeled into surgery. I was able to speak with the anesthesiologist in pre-op and discuss my post op nausea that I had with prior surgery. Woke up from this surgery feeling great. No post op nausea or vomiting. Again, all staff at Virginia Piper was excellent and they maintained communication with my family in the waiting room.
Jeanne Haslam
I had a wonderful experience at Shea. The nurses were so helpful and kind. I had a little problem coming out of anesthesia and everyone involved took such great care of me and helped me feel at ease and not worried. I'd definitely recommend this facility and its employees.
Brittany Miranda
I had an elective surgery done at the Piper Surgery Center. Pam checked me in. She was very thorough and let me know what to expect. Nursing care was phenomenal. Mary B, Diane, Josh, and Wayne were nurses that helped me pre and post op. They had great team work. Anything I needed was promptly addressed. Dr. Graber was my anesthesiologist, I notified the center that I had nausea after a previous surgery and he made sure to do everything to prevent nausea and vomiting for me. My doc, Dr. Savilo answered all of my questions and checked on me the day after surgery. It was a flawless experience for me. Thanks to everyone for making a nerve wracking situation a breeze.
Marilyn Carney
Overall great...the nurses are spectacular. The only grievance was the 2 hr prior to my type of procedure when there is not much prep, such as hydration. It was a long 2 hr. Maybe for my type of procedure a 1 hr prep would be sufficient!
Carolyn Carter-Nash
Everyone was very professional and kind from Carolyn at check in, the prep team, recovery team were awesome! Dr. Devakamar was my Dr. and she as well is amazing! I highly recommend her your urologist. Thank you Honor Health Pipper Surgery Center for making me feel very comfortable.

We have found Honor Health to be a Premier medical facility. I have had a heart valve replaced there and this year, 2 total knee replacements. From the chevk in,bto the discharge. it has been an experience for which I am very grateful. The knowledge, care and consideration of all the staff and volunteers has been beyond my expectations each time. I feel so fortunate that a facility such as this is nearest to our home.
Sandra Jobs
From the moment I checked in I was treated like a patient should be treated not another number. Starting with the admitting, pre-op, surgical and recovery staff they were all so great. In these times when it’s hard to have procedures done it’s nice when the facility staff is caring and takes the to explain the process.
Thank you to the team. Sandra Jobs

Everyone was very kind professional and very attentive. I was never alone in my time of need no matter which department I was taken to they were right there to accommodate my needs I'd like to say THANK YOU ,for your services. You are so blessed to have such lovely people who made my stay pleasant and are so dedicated in what they do. God bless you all.

I’m very impressed with Honor Health Shea. Very focused on the patient needs. I Noticed during my required testing for aorta valve replacement. They have a Very strong team environment and really zero in on process and procedures.

Having a campus map with an indication of where the patient needed to go to register would have been a big benefit. Instead, I wondered all over the campus until I was finally able to ask an employee where I needed to go. These maps should be available to all physicians’ offices that are on staff at your medical center to give to patients that will receive treatment at your facility.
My appointment was at 1230 but I wasn’t taken back to pre-op until after 1400. That seems like an excessive wait time to me.
Otherwise, the experience was very satisfactory.

I cannot sing the praises of HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center more. My experience was fantastic from reception to discharge. My faith and peace of mind for the doctor I chose was right on. Dr. Ahmed Akl was incredibly. I had confidence I was safe in his hands, and the hands of the care team. The nurses were kind to both my husband, as well as myself. I am a retired healthcare professional, and I know what excellent post-op care should be. HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea staff and facilities met my expectations and went the extra mile in my care. Thank you to all who took care of me. I would take my family her in a heartbeat!

The Virginia G. Piper facility in Deer Valley has exceed exceeded my expectations in every way. Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis was the scariest thing that’s happened in my life and the doctors, nurses, and staff have guided through every step of the way with patience and care. Dr. Kaplan, Dr. Moorthy, Dr. Patel, Mona, Leslie, and Melinda have all been amazing and made this journey doable. Having an interdisciplinary clinic is an indescribable resource that eliminates so many logistical headaches that you don’t have time or brain power for when you’re dealing with cancer. I would recommend them 100%

I had a cath in the Heart Lab. I drive 130 miles to use this Honor Health facility. The staff from Check in to Check out are kind, informative, and professional. The Nurse's are very attentive and explain post care until they are sure you understand. In the Cath Lab they explained what was happening and very professional.
Diane Matelich
Excellent experience, staff was very efficient made me feel very much at ease. Dr. Kahn is very thorough and professional. I felt I was in good hands for my surgery. Piper is an excellent facility with a very friendly and accommodating staff.
joanne wolak
I was at Virginia Piper. Everything was top notch for surgery. I moved smoothly from nuclear to Piper. Private rooms
Patient care wonderful.admission flawless with James. And food tops the list.
A particular accolade to my shift nurses Hulda, Laura, Kate, Diane. Pre-op Marianne. I can't recall my OR nurses but I'm sure they were excellent! Julie and Rudy.
Lovely professionals doing it for the love of the job.. or at least they made me feel so.
Thank you all for making what otherwise was a very unpleasant situation much more tolerable.
Nancy Johnson
As a retired Nurse and NP I found Virginia Piper OP Surgery center incorporating preventive and protective measures prior to Surgery including skin cleanser, TED hose and checking blood glucose. All staff were very courteous, professional and made me feeling safe and secure!
Joyce Cone
I recently had surgery at SMH Piper& stayed overnight in hsp. Everyone was very kind and considerate in helping me recover. They were very busy, however, they took the time to explain and work efficiently. I appreciated all of their efforts.

I have so much appreciated the Honor Health network of care providers and the electronic mgmt of my records. My Primary is a fabulous Doctor who listens but also instills trust in her expertise and I don't question her advice (but need to follow it more readily). I'm wholly impressed with a recent surgical experience that left me surprisingly comfortable after the fact and I have not needed even an aspirin for pain. Doctors K. Thomsen and N. Sigalove are incredible doctors. I love that my records are stored where I can refer to them on demand. I have nothing negative to say about Honor Health and am grateful for the staff and care provided at the offices of Dr. Thomsen and Dr. Sigalove.

After the terrible experience at Thompson Peak with no treat, the next day I went to Shea. The best people, staff, loving and compassionate.I felt cared for from check in to discharge. My Pcp dr Cibulka was as loved there by staff and had HH clinic coordinator from him sent to
Me. I had my breast cancer surgery there. They are tender loving ER.
Mi Lei
All the staff were pleasant, helpful, & caring. I was kept informed of any delays. Nusing staff were concerned for my comfort & concerns. They answered all my questions. Checked on me regularly while I was preped and waiting in preop.. Helped me stay calm, relaxed, & warm with heated blankets. Explained what was going to take place in the endoscopy procedure room. I was very pleased with the level of patient care I received
Suggestion to patients: bring something to read as there is nothing to occupy your time while you are in the waiting area BEFORE they come to escort you in to preop preparation.

Scottsdale H.H. Cardiac Rehab is.....
A great chance to get your body and mind back in shape while being monitored after any heart event that you may have experienced.
The staff are extremely professional, and very knowledgeable so the comfort levels are made to only assist you. 😉 Start off slowly and build yourself up .
Highly recommended for all ages and the facilities have been here for a long time, all the equipment is in great shape and the education gained while working out is invaluable!!! It's a crash course in yourself ultimately. Good Luck. L.L.
Respect!!!

Everyone was very kind and helpful. The young lady who put the IV line in didn't even leave a bruise. The nurses and the physicians were kind and told me what they would be doing. Dr. PITEA made me feel safe and shared the results after the procedure. Thank you Everyone.
Bonnie Yngelmo
Piper Surgery center was the best from volunteer at desk, to admitting, pre op ( Mary RN), anesthesia, and mostly, the genuine care of Dr Molly Walsh and Brenda Moorthy. I felt more like a family member and had no doubts or concerns going into one of the most stressful times I have endured. Thank you.
Meg Taylor
Dr.Laskus and team are attentive and know what is going on with my lungs. I am comfortable working with them as we try to get to a better place with my lung health. They listen, answer questions, and genuinely care!
Nancy Hatch
This facility was clean, admitting personnel were courteous and friendly. The nursing staff and doctors were caring, knowledgeable and explained the procedures that I was there for. I would definitely recommend this surgery center.
Patti Mccartney
I had a hysterectomy performed and was pleased with the treatment. It was a great team that worked with my surgeon. I felt comfortable and safe with the care given.

I came in by private ambulance twice from a nearby skilled nursing facility to have a thorancentesis (where fluid is removed in the area around the lungs) performed on two occasions. I was on an uncomfortable gurney that belonged to the private ambulance service, but check-in was smooth and once in the room where the procedure would be performed they moved me to an adjustable examination table that also had a pillow on it. The staff at this point was very professional. On the middle of May 2021 Leana was the PA, Tanya and Denise were the nurses. Leana had me sit up and lean over a metal table and performed the procedure which involves just the slightest amount of pain as the catheter with the needle is inserted and she removed just over a liter of fluid. After I had an X-Ray and then the ambulance staff arrived and transported me back to the skilled nursing facility. On the end of May 2021, Megan performed the procedure and Brenda an Onya were the nurses. All 3 were very professional, showed a lot of compassion and were very professional as were the 3 on May 14th.
In the weeks after this I would have additional procedures performed at Thompson Peak but as an outpatient walking in via an appointment. By July the fluid build-up had subsided which was a secondary issue related to my original diagnosis (see my Honor Health Thompson Peak review if you want to know about my experience there).
Richard Goldman
Given that surgery and hospital stays are extremely difficult under the best of circumstances, I can honestly say my recent experience with honor health Shea was entirely satisfactory. I don’t know how it could have been any better. I am extremely grateful to the entire team that cared for me
Danielle Beasley
The ENTIRE staff was SUPER FANTASTIC! From James in admit (who is a rock star) to the food service team. I couldn't have asked for a better team of professional to care for me. Dr. Ahmed Akl and his team were the stars of the show. From surgery prep to discharge they were 20/10. I can't thank them enough!!
Adrianne Perez
The staff before and after surgery were great. Everyone put me at ease, answering my questions and even telling a joke or two. Even the food was good. I would recommend this hospital.
John Hicks
A totally Professional staff from the moment I walked through the doors.
A wonderful and caring staff who made me feel like I was the most important person in the facility. Thank you for making my experience a great one.

Every staff member that I encountered during my stay at Scottsdale Shea hospital was exceptional in the role they performed. I would like to extend a special thank you to RN Margo in the PACU for her immediate compassionate care to me during those hours I had to spend waiting for an available bed. Dustin, OR staff, Dr Matthews- Anesthesia, Dr ‘s Michael Chang Surgeon and Andrew Corbett. PACU RN’s Suzanne and Margo, night nurse on the 5th floor Total Joint Unit Debbie and PCT Paige, Day Nurse Denise and PCT Cassie. Dr. Bal - hospitalist and OT Haley/ PT Kylie. Honor health is what I choose. Staff treats you like a person, with no judgement. I can’t say that about other places. Thank you for always taking care of my needs in a professional manner
Michelle Ismaj
Dr. Pryor was amazing. All the nurses and staff have been great. I’m so happy I chose Dr. Pryor for this surgery. Highly recommended him to anyone needed an ENT surgeon.
Debra Pineo
HonorHealth Scottsdale was great the staff was wonderful. The anesthesiologist that was assigned to my surgery was less than all the others, his bedside manner was eh, any other doctor that assisted with my prior surgery have been great but maybe it was just a bad day. Everyone else was great that helped me especially Bill my nurse in the pre-op and post-op. Dr. Sardana was wonderful. Thank you all!
Jim Richcreek
Follow on physical therapy blocked by hospital. Reason stated - leaving sameway as entered!
Not true! Left a lot weaker than entered with lots of pain. PT should have been recommended to recover strength! I was not consulted by hospital staff on their decision to block PT.
mamie warrick
This visit involved surgery. Each step from Pre-op to recovery, I received excellent care, clear instructions on what to expect and immediate attention when I needed it. Very glad I selected HonorHealth at Shea for my medical needs.

Great experience considering you don't want to be in the hospital. Doctors, nurses, and staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.
This is my 2nd stay here. If you want the best of everything, insist on the 5th floor.
Kathleen Kostner
I found organized and personable staff members in a very clean environment, who are considerate of patient needs from admission to discharge, thus providing a confidence that is so important for patients in the surgical setting. Thank you.
deborah dozal
I've never had an issue with this ER, but I came here Tuesday afternoon and I had to wait 6 hours just to be seen. And they never gave me the results of my ekg, and I saw it myself on the portal, and it says abnormal result, atrial fibrillation!! How could they have not told me this?? Horrible!!!!
Patrice Augustyniak
Surgery is never fun or easy. The pre-op and post-op nurses were amazing and helped with nerves before and with recovery after. I would highly recommend HH Scottsdale Shea Medical Center.
Sandy Slonek
We have had two outpatient surgeries in December at Piper Surgery Center. The care is phenomenal and the staff so kind and professional. Thank you Piper Surgery Center :)!!!

You just know the CEO and COO genuinely cares about you. I mean - like really care.
The Surgeons and Doctors are the best. I must mention Dr Pepple, AZ Premier Surgery & Dr Tsai, Virginia Piper Cancer Center. Both tops in their craft and affliated w Honor Health. And if it wasn't for Dr Pepple I would not be alive. And he led me to Tsai my oncologist and he kept me alive. All part of Honor Health network.
Don't think it's Scottsdale - be too expensive & insurance problems. Honor Health will WORK with YOU.
I love 💕 honor health !!!
David G
First time daddy and this place was amazing. The nurses were helpful in every way imaginable. Before our baby came HonorHealth offers free classes for me parents that were so helpful. Also, the rooms, food, and supplies have been great. Thank you to the doctors and the nurses here.

I had some extra bodily pieces that my doctor and I agreed that I could part ways with recently. As lucky would have it, my surgeon used the Honor surgery center in Scottsdale.
Upon arrival (about 30-minutes prior to my scheduled time), the staff felt a bit discombobulated at first but I blame the morning and the likelihood that they could use some slow-roasted caffeine. Once I was called back for check in, we were moving pretty quickly. I can only assume they serve the nurses a much higher caffeine coffee or maybe Red Bulls.
My assigned nurse, Frank, told me he'd need doing this work for thirty-years. Honestly, this could go either way. Frank could be amazing of be equally burned out. I'm happy to report that he was on point with everything. He was even able to match my snarky energy. Unfortunately, Frank didn't get to be my OR nurse but due to the fact that the anesthesiologist was able to do his job well, I slept right through her work.
The recovery staff was a bit pushy. They insisted that I keep breathing (go figure). After some fighting and a free pair of really ugly slipper socks, I gave in and started breathing again.
When asked, I would give the staff a 10/10. The facility was a bit dated (the 90's called and they want their hospital back). The facilities and grounds were still a 6.5/10. The cleanliness of the facility appeared to be reasonable and I can only assume most of their instruments were at least wiped off on a mostly clean towel. I gave them a 8.5/10. Overall, I gave them a 9/10 despite the fact that I slept through most of my visit.
I would definitely go again. Thanks HH!
Peter Stesiak
Colleen in recovery was great. She had to overcome some internal communication issues
And just grabbed the ball & ran with it.
She got me to a second procedure without waiting for additional hours. I felt like she really put my well being as a top priority.
Overall my patient experience was very, very, very good. All nurses/staff in prep area were
Professional and kind. Friendly but not to friendly staying focused.

I had outpatient surgery to repair a broken wrist. Everyone was kind and professional. The facility is well designed and comfortable. Parking is convenient. Because I was treated so well by staff before surgery, I had no anxiety as I was wheeled into surgery. My after care was awesome. I strongly recommend this facility. My experience was perfect.

I recently had spinal fusion surgery. Top notch hospital. Room had nice view, food was excellent, Nursing staff - especially my night nurse Nate W - were caring and you could talk to them. My surgeon - Dr. Khalsa - did wonderful job and I am now home recovering nicely. The at home nurses & physical therapists were also top notch. Highly recommend this facility. A+++
Lynda Coakley
Everyone here is so nice! They explain things clearly ( and are fine with you asking them to repeat what they say.) from the moment you walk through the door, prior to your procedure, and after your procedure, from administrative folks, transportation folks ( I needed a wheel chair), anesthesiologist, nursing staff and of course the doctors are all wonderful. All kind and patient even if you’re a nervous Nelly like me.
I had a overnight stay . This, too, was Exceedingly pleasant. The nursing staff are extremely responsive, sensitive, and never made me feel rushed, And the food is good too! I highly recommend using Shea .

Honor Health Piper Sugery Center is a wonderful and comfortable welcoming place for women who are are facing the battle if their life. The receptionist was warm and friendly and tries to make everyone comfortable. The admitting staff was funny, kind and tried to make you feel welcome and that everything will be alright. My room was clean and bright. I had the BEST nurses and nursing assistants. My day nurse, Julie was just AWESOME. She was very warm and friendly. She taught us how to clear my drains and how to take care of my self. She took excellent care of me and Connie, nurses aid, was always right there to help with everything. My night nurse, Tammy was also AMAZING. She was caring and genuinely compassionate. She and I talked about a lot of things. This made me feel like I was talking to a friend. Thank you Honor Health for hiring such a compassionate staff. It makes such a difference when you are scared and concerned about your future. They made me feel as comfortable as they could and never made me feel like a burden. I would rate them more than 5 stars if I could!
Christie Baker
I had a bilateral mastectomy at the Outpatient Breast Center. Probably the best experience that I have ever had
Wonderful nurses eager to help. I stayed 2 nights
My night nurse was Cindy and nurses assistant was Chris. I can not praise them both enough . I would recommend this facility to everyone who needs a place to feel safe and cared for. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLY EXCELLENT

Overall, I had a great experience delivering my daughter at this hospital. My nurse Maycee in labor and delivery is incredibly sweet, she was very attentive and helpful. The Anesthesiologist Dr who administered my epidural knew I was traumatized from a previous experience, he was very gentle and thorough throughout the entire process. Postpartum unit is honestly a hit a miss as stated by previous reviewers. Some nurses are very caring and others you will only see once or twice during their entire shift. I'd like to give a special shout out to my nurse Kelly, she is absolutely AMAZING!!! She was extremely helpful during my recovery, she was always on top of my pain meds and check ups on baby. She helped with diaper changes in the middle of the night when she could tell I was extremely exhausted and lacking sleep so all I had to worry about was nursing baby, I honestly couldn't have ask for a better nurse for support during a tough time. Thank you so much for everything you do Kelly, you are an angel!! I am sure many you've cared for would certainly agree.

I was given excellent treatment while I had to be admitted overnight after a surgery scheduled. The rooms were nice and accommodated my visitors and my nurses gave me great care! My only gripe and reason I didn't give 5 stars was the cafeteria staff member that takes your meal order was very rude and I felt rushed while placing my meal orders she would also remind me of the number of items I ordered. So that was a bummer, but overall I had a good experience.
Linda Balzarini
From the beginning of our hospital Stay parking is not the easiest but.. they have valet parking for free (gratuity not included)
Front desk lead us to admitting and shortly after we were lead to pre-op.
Through and attentive getting me ready for hip replacement surgery, next thing I knew I’m in post-op. Great staff there! Sent me to my room and so many different peoples came in to see to my needs that I can’t remember them all !!
Dietary.. so very helpful and quick!
Discharge was quick and easy. My nurses for the 20 hours in the hospital were compassionate and caring. The people that bring us back to to front door of the hospital and back to reality are wonderful. Thank you all for my experience and healing going so well. Blessings

I was comprehensive and nervous for my endoscopy coming into the hospital. I was dropped off at the friendly valet, engaged a super helpful volunteer who directed me to the admissions department. Checked in quickly and before I knew it, I was escorted to the endoscopy suite. A few minutes later, I was asked to come back for my procedure. The nurse was kind and could sense my nervousness. She was very reassuring and helpful. Before I knew it, my IV was placed (I'm a difficult stick), I met my GI Specialist Dr Harris and the Anesthesiologist. Next I remember I'm awake with another smiling face from the nursing staff. Dr Harris discussed his findings, I felt great. Got dressed and was escorted out to my awaiting family. Excellent patient care from start to finish. The entire patient experience was outstanding. I highly recommend Honor Healthcare for the highest quality, compassionate care with an awesome patient experience. Thank you Honor!

Thank you so, so, so deeply, from the bottom of my heart to the amazing team of medical professionals, staff, and volunteers at HonorHealth who got me safely and successfully through spine surgery! I was so terrified to have to have another surgery as I'd had horrible experiences at other hospitals with previous surgeries, but thank God my surgeon chose HonorHealth for my surgery! First off, this hospital from lobbies, hospital areas, to the gift shop is beautifully designed, welcoming, clean, etc. Everyone we interacted with from check in staff to recovery nurses was so kind, sweet, supportive, and welcoming! Each nurse or medical specialist who met with me in the pre-op process, reviewed my procedure, what to expect, etc. So I was fully prepared and supported. The teamwork I observed of all the nurses, specialists, and staff was exemplary! It was such a busy day and there were so many patients having surgery and everyone at the hospital was working so hard and so well together to provide phenomenal patient care! I have so much respect and gratitude for every amazing HonorHealth employee who cared for me and kept me well and safe through a major surgery! I owe them everything and will never forget each and every one of the 12+ people at the hospital who were there for me and made it all happen 🙏! Thank you forever!!
Jessica March
I had a procedure done at Piper Surgical center. EVERY single person, including the anesthesiologist, that assisted me was super friendly, chatty and took the time for me to know them, not just what they were going to do to me. My surgery was moved up last minute, do to a list minute cancellation. I arrived on time for my original scheduld surgery. At no time did I feel rushed or that anyone was annoyed that I was "late". In fact, when I apologized, they made sure to tell me and my husband, that it was absolutely not our fault, the change was last minute and no one told us. It made an uncomfortable situation a lot more bearable.
Carrie Gesford
Best hospital I have been to in a long time. All staff very friendly, outgoing, My over night stay was great, was looked after more than I ever expected to be. Would definitely recommend this hospital to others! My now first choice for care! Thank you Honor Health, for not making me feel like a patient, but, as a person!
Sharon Brown
This experience was disappointing. I was the last patient in the endoscopy outpatient OR that day. As soon as the surgeon finished my procedure around 7:00 pm, he rushed off to a meeting. I was told that he stopped to talk to my family and I don't know how well they understood my discharge orders beyond needing to pick up a pain Rx. I was quite groggy when the nurse gave me the instructions. She even told me it was likely I might not remember much of it. That night and the following day, I was in a lot of pain so called the doctor's office that morning (Friday). The doc was unavailable but they said they would contact his team and someone would call me back. When they finally called, it was around 2:30 pm. The nurse said she would order lab work from a local lab near me. Turned out that lab and the only other one covered by my insurance are open only Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Both were already closed and not open on Saturday. No help until Monday. The only other option is to go to your ER (10 miles away) where it's normal to wait for 3-6 hours to be seen. I believe I should have been admitted to the hospital immediately following the surgery for at least one night since I was discharged from this same hospital only 3 days prior for the problem that made this surgery necessary.
In all fairness, I've been a patient in this hospital several times and everything went great and all staff were very professional and kind making the experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Dr Thosoni and all his staff are great and easy to work with.
I hope you will understand this outpatient experience was the only time things didn't go as well as they could have and normally do.
I felt you needed to know how it could have gone better. I will need this procedure again in 2 months so I would appreciate you hospitalizing me for at least 1 night.
Thank you.
Shona Cleary
I had to get on here and comment on how well I was treated during my stay. I had a scary/painful trip to the ER with a kidney stone. The worst pain I’ve ever felt. They got me back quickly and started my IV for fluids and pain meds. I wish I could remember her name, but the nurse that stayed with me while I waited on CT results, was so kind and caring. Doctor Camille was amazingly kind as well, but didn’t have the best news. I’d have to be admitted to receive lithotripsy the following day. I was crying and everyone calmed me down and genuinely cared. Then of course my night nurses Melissa and Sarah were AMAZING for the 24 hours I was there. My urologist Ali Borhan is the best of the best. I was very scared and he calmed me down and made me laugh with his jokes. The anesthesiologist Dr. Skolnik explained everything to me in detail and was kind and caring. My recovery nurse Beth was amazing as she calmed me down before surgery. I remember all the names because that’s how amazing and profound they all were to me. I hope they all know how much they helped me. Great hospital!!!!!
Kellie C
I had the best experience for my surgery. I had really friendly nurses that were helpful and curtios. They helped with showing me how to change clothes and stuff after shoulder surgery. Over all it was a pretty nice experience.
Patrick Kelly
I was very impressed with the nursing staff at this hospital..
They were nice, caring, professional and overall a great group of nurses..
They were extremely engaging and we talked about a lot if things other than my procedure..
It was a very nice way of making me feel during everything that was going on..❤️
Aurelia Hatch
My experience went very smoothly. Everyone I came into contact with was kind, friendly, and respectful. The check in was smooth and painless, the nurses were very understanding and kind, and I had a great surgery and recovery. If I needed urgent medical care again, I would definitely want to return to this hospital.
Bill Hasse
Great experience. No wait time, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hospital is very clean. I’ve been here three times now and zero complaints.
Erica Mercer
Had surgery at Scottsdale Honor Health hospital. They were quick, timely, friendly and organized. I was in and out of my surgery and everything went well. The nurse was right there next to me when I woke up. Everything was explained to me before and after by all the staff involved.
Tammy Morgan
Had an elective procedure done with an overnight stay. The entire team from admitting (James) to the nurses on the floor (Tammy,Julie, Connie and Jennifer) were amazing and made me feel at home.
Kari Page
I came in on Friday for some outpatient surgery, and had a great experience. Everyone from check in to check out was exceptional! Everyone was super Nice funny and some great sense of humors. They made my nerves calm, And made me much more comfortable. Hannah, Joanne, Melinda, And anyone else I forgot sorry great job!
Dee Morgan
I was only there for one night, thank the Lord. I hate hospitals, I’ve had to stay in them a lot in the last couple of years. The care I was given by the nursing staff made me almost want to stay another night. They were wonderful, Professional but very warm and caring. The food was terrific.
Shelley Groudan
Everyone of the staff that participated in my prep for surgery and all the way through recovery were so professional, kind and attentive. My anesthesiologist, Dr. Skolnick sat with me prior to surgery and was very thorough in his explanation of what their plan was for annestizing me during the surgery. Dr. Heiland was also very thorough and didn't pull any punches about what his game plan was for the surgery and what I should expect when I return home to recover. I definitely felt I chose the right surgeon and hospital to help me get through this challenging health concern. Thank you everyone at Honorhealth Medical Center Shea.
Danica Davis
Hello! i am a 16 year old girl and i came here to get a upper endoscopy. the service was great and the people were very nice. they treat you with such care:)

Went in for a particular outpatient procedure in radiology, everyone was kind and caring and made things less stressful including the staff and nurses.

I have always been terrified of hospitals and being admitted. The staff on the floor I was in 3B room number 3218 admitted wed July 20th release date have no idea as of yet but my nurses names are Mari her trainee Chris my overnight nurse Jacob and my other nurse Tammy and all the CNA Felicia and the other one I forgot her name but they are amazing as well super helpful and caring.Dr Salas my infectious disease Dr truly amazed and blown away by his care Saldivar my internal medicine Dr was nothing short than amazing truly listened to my concerns addressed them quickly ! And my surgeon wow Adwoa Opoku-Boateng all I can say is I will have no other doctor ever touch me and do any surgery that she isn’t involved in! I have had many surgeries but never before have I had a Dr so attentive and caring and transparent! All I can say about my overall experience is this er was super busy but they did the best that they could do and 5/5. Er Dr was great saw what was going on admitted me right Away er Dr 5/5
Floor 3B from cna to house keeping to my nurses ,charge nurse, all dr there isn’t a rating high enough to give them but over all I would give them a 10/5 and not a 5/10 but 10/5 because each and everyone has gone up and beyond there jobs to make sure I was comfortable and got the care everyone deserves thank each and everyone that I interacted with during my stay. As it’s is tough having no family and nobody come visit and to be alone the entire time and I think my nurses knew this spent some extra time talking to me!
Curtis Roberts
The staff was awesome. Food was great. I had an 8 day stay and everyone made it as pleasant as possible. 5 stars all the way
Maria Ortiz

The staff at HonorHealth is wonderful! The are always friendly, professional and highly skilled. Every procedure (4 in the last two months) I’ve had has gone smoothly with great outcomes. Thank you HonorHealth for being such an important part of our community and for serving selflessly in these difficult medical times!

It's been 7 weeks since we had our first baby here. And we had several nurses who were all fantastic, but Sam was absolutely AMAZING. If you have a baby here, request Sam as your nurse! Thank you Sam for making us feel comfortable, safe and calm and being informative, professional, and kind.
Dianne Siegel
Very pleased with my entire experience. Nurses were efficient and caring.
Emiliya-Milana Yusupova
I had an amazing experience @ HHSS hospital. All personal doctors, nurses, pct’s were great and amazing.
david davis
Our stay was for 5 days in the NICU. Hospital staff was very courteous and was attentive to our needs. The nurses were personable and treated us like we were in a 5 star resort. Food that was ordered to the room was great but going down to the cafeteria the food was mediocre.
Bojana Lukic
My mom was here for cancer treatment and a bone marrow transplant. Most of the nurses and doctors are wonderful but there were some issues. One of my mom’s nurses one night was not wearing any gloves. My mom was receiving chemo for the BMT and her immune system was down. Another nurse in the icu who was treating my mom was coughing periodically.
These wouldn’t be serious things with most patients but with a cancer patient who is immunocompromised, they can be. The food was not good. She asked me to bring her food from home to eat. This hospital needs to improve their operations and patient care. Many people are depending on you for medical care and don’t have the option to go elsewhere.
Michele
I generously gave this hospital 5 stars, although conflicting information was given to me by different people. I think it would be a good idea for everyone to communicate with each other so that they are on the same page! The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing at times……..so that can be quite unsettling to the patients who are already a bit apprehensive or frightened by what is going on.
Also it is very admirable of those who are super volunteers, however……..maybe they ought to dial back
their arrogance, which tends to rear its ugly head at
certain times.
Bridgette Vejnar
Was induced and had a good experience. When we first got there we had to wait an hour for a room. But when we got to the room it was very clean. The whole time while I was in the labor and delivery unit the nurses were super helpful and very attentive and fast to respond. The nurses were all very friendly and professional too. After having our baby we went to post partum and it was good, a little bit less helpful there, but not bad over all. Every nurse was very nice still and always provided the information you needed.

In August I needed emergency medical care and went to a local hospital in Surprise. Knowing I had internal bleeding and getting no attention for hours I decided to take my chances, called my doctor - and headed to Scottsdale Shea which was about an hour drive.
I was through the emergency room and in my hospital room within 2 hours. Every person I had contact with was personable and empathetic. The entire admission process was flawless. My care once in my room was so incredibly different from any I'd received in Chicago that I had to ask the staff if they were always so attentive and kind. Pain meds were provided when needed without having to wait hours like I was used to. Nurses would actually come in the room to ask if I needed anything. Being in the hospital is no picnic - but this one at least made it far more comfortable than anything I'd experienced before.
My stay was over a week and I have not one complaint. I will say that they follow visiting rules and there is no skating past end time or start time. I have to accept that - it goes to their organization and attentiveness.
Discharge process was fast and I was provided detailed instructions, phone numbers and follow-up information.
Any time there's a choice in what hospital to go to I will make the drive to this one. Every person there made a difficult time much easier for me and I am forever grateful!

HonorHealth Shea is one of the finest hospitals in the state of Arizona. The doctors nurses and staff affiliated with this hospital are top notch professionals that really care for your well-being. I am extremely pleased with the level of care I receive in all of the honor healthcare System hospitals and clinics, that includes HonorHealth Shea, Thompson Peak, and Osborn.
Susan Werner
I recently had my fourth (both knees and hips) total joint replacement surgery with Dr. Matthew Russo at Honor Health/Shea in Scottsdale. My experience with my surgeon, the pre op, hospital and post op care was absolutely amazing. As a former ICU/CCU head nurse, I did a thorough research before making my decision.
So, I am delighted to have this opportunity and cannot possibly give a higher recommendation to express my appreciation for their high standard of excellence.
Dr. Susan Werner

I am amazed that the nurses and staff can be so kind and caring all the time. HonorHealth is always equipped to handle anything that might arise and all the different specialties work together to get things done. Without going into specifics, I would choose HonorHealth for my treatment all the time.
Ron Sturm
Dr Russo and his team did a Great Job. From the very beginning (first appointment) thru the surgery everything was done with the true feeling of experience and a high level expertise in this type joint replacement. I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Russo!!

This was my 1st time at an Honor Health facility and Scottsdale Shea exceeded my expectations! I had a wonderful experience from pre-op, surgical, recovery, nutrition and maintenance lol. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I can’t say enough. I wish the other hospitals in the valley would take a note.
Stacie Orchekowsky
All of the nursing staff was amazing. The hospitalist was great very nice and compassionate.
Rose'lani Kane
This was my second time bringing my patient to this hospital for tests. My patient is difficult to please and, as a nurse, I notice things lay people wouldn't. This facility had both of us delighted and raving at how well everything ran. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the tests were done quickly and on time, the facility is immaculate, and the waiting areas and cafeteria were comfortable and well stocked. Top notch! Well done!
Cathy McKeever
I had an outpatient procedure yesterday at Scottsdale/Shea. Everyone I encountered was very polite and professional. The wait was minimal. The facility was clean, the doctor that did the procedure was great. The staff was concerned about pain level - fortunately it wasn't a problem. They even got me breakfast after the procedure (I was fasting). Really a nice surprise. We've been in the area since 2001, and both my husband and I have used the hospital several times. I am thankful that we have access to such excellent medical care.
Lee Weaver
The medical staff, my heart team, I can't say enough. My family, my grand kids, have me for quite a bit longer to watch them grow and be an active participant in thier lives, all thanks to the skill and attention of my medical team. I can't thank them enough and will be forever greatful to each and every one of them.

Amazing care from start to finish. Banner should model HH because I have never had a good experience with Banner!!
Tavie L
This facility is absolutely top notch. I have never had so much attention from so many medical staff. Super friendly and caring. And my surgeon Dr. Sigalove is incredible. No pain, out of recovery in 45 minutes. Not that I want anymore surgery but if needed will be here.
vince smith
This hospital was an incredibly well run machine. Staff was amazing. Well trained, knowledgeable, spoke English, and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone needing medical treatment.
Joshua DelaCruz
I took my wife in to rule out a blood clot in her legs. I was very appreciative of the excellent service provided by with the doctor, the resident, the front desk staff and triage staff. There were many difficult patient cases being triaged including burns, strokes, sick children, MVA injuries, and post party problems. As a doctor I would say they prioritized each case very well and protected all of the indivuduals in the emergency room from harm. That is not an easy job. We all feel our issue is most concerning, myself included. They did not know what I did for work and it did not matter. I could not have asked for better care for my family. As a patient entering this emergency room please trust that they are experts caring for you and our community with compassion, wisdom, and skill. Thank you, appreciate all you are doing.
Cori Smith
My Mom was transferred here to Honor Health Shea from Show Low. She has been diagnosed with Cancer. The staff from all departments have been amazing. The nurses, doctors, radiology department, nutrition, housekeeping, nurses aids, phlebotomists, social worker, and transport have all been so helpful and caring. This is a difficult time , but they have provided such a positive and encouraging environment to help us make the transitions.
Lexi Forman
I fully trust my drs and all staff was so kind. Best nurses as well.
Gary Shapiro
EXCELLENT IN EVERY RESPECT. ENTIRE STAFF FROM DR's to cleaning crew.

I have nothing but great things to say about HonorHealth’s Cardio Rehab. The Nurses, Dr’s, Dietician, Mental Health Therapist have all been wonderful. They’ve all been very supportive and helpful to me while I’ve been on this path to recovering from my Heart Surgery. I would recommend HonorHealth’s Cardio Rehab to anyone who needs it. I’m very thankful for everyone there.

Reason a 5☆ review is being given is not only the hospital and all the departments we dealt with but the surgeons team has been top notch and very streamlined to say the least. Surgery being done as we speak no, but can only imagine things will be handled with full attn and care throughout this procedure. Thank you very much!! Melissa Ryan, Dr Rizik and Dr Riley are all truly amazing. ♥️
Cari Holdorf
What a stunning hospital! Very clean. Everyone was very professional! Loved the Nurses.
Inga Sinyangwe
Great choice for elective surgery. Great surgeon and surgical team. Attentive to needs.

This is by far the best facility I have ever been to when it comes to hospitals. I’ve had two babies at Honor Health on Shea and I am planning on having my third there as well. The doctors, nurses and every staff member are extremely professional and knowledgable. They made me feel comfortable and took very good care of me and my babies. I seriously can’t thank them enough. The facility is very clean and organized. I have been to other hospitals and Honor Health on Shea has been the very best. I would highly recommend coming here to have your baby.
Jodi Smith
Registration was a little slow . The speech therapist was excellent, explained everything in detail. Would highly recommend. Very caring and a great personality. Loved her! ❤️
Terry Chalex
HIPAA Act is being violated due to lack of privacy in the surgery prep area. I was able to hear private conversations including addresses and dates of birth of adjacent patients. Otherwise, the attending staff was courteous and helpful.
Heather R
My birth experience on 6/5/19 was awesome! This was my first child and they respected I wanted to give birth naturally- which went well! The staff was very sweet and attentive, so so kind I absolutely love the nurses that I interacted with (gave birth at nearly 11pm that night). Thank you to the staff and I hope my next birth here will be just as great. Also I really appreciated the 36 hour hold to make sure mom & baby are okay. Maternal mortality in the US is not great so this attention to my after care was very important to me and I felt very taken care of.
misty mesic
Amazing from check in to discharge. Everyone was friendly, helpful, compassionate and caring.

Was here for 3 nights for a heart condition and they took excellent care of me. The doctors and nurses are top notch!

Been to this ER five times since 2005, every time I’ve gone the nurse’s/doctor’s care has been exceptional. Prior to tests and labs the plan of care was always discussed with me and made me feel involved. Visiting the ER is never fun but at this medical center I’ve always gotten care unlike anywhere else.
1-27-22
Had to leave work and drove 31 miles out of my way in order to go specifically to this ER again. ER waiting room was packed with patients separated by those with COVID and those without. Despite how busy the department was the triage nurse took my vitals every hour. Patient's having strokes and cardiac issues were treated first; rightfully so, after three hours I was taken back for CT scan. Pleasant Dr. Joby Matthews kept me up-to-date on the plan of care and explained that I needed emergent surgery also told me I had to be admitted. I was given pain medication that I did not tolerate but this was quickly addressed by the nursing staff and I was given new medication that significantly helped with my discomfort. Knowledgeable Dr. Daniel Jaffe explained then completed the surgery. I was admitted to a surprisingly large and nice private room with a ~30" TV. The nursing staff again were very attentive (I don't fully remember everyone's name but thanks Devyn, Mars), my pain and other issues were taken seriously and addressed. The following day I was discharged by Dr. Payam Azima who was very polite, thorough, and knowledgeable. I had my follow-up appts made, medications sent to my pharmacy, and everything I needed when I discharge.
Martha Vazquez
Nurses and medical staff were so attentive, caring, and profesional from the day my appointment was scheduled to the second I was wheeled out and on my way back home after surgery.
Staff always answered my questions and returned my calls immediately for any concerns I had before my procedure. I received amazing treatment and care from everyone which made the entire experience so much less nerve-wracking for me! Nurses always made sure I was comfortable and the anesthesiologist walked me through the process carefully and also made sure I was doing well! I’m very grateful toward HonorHealth Shea and their staff for what they do!

I have given birth to all four of my sons at this hospital. The first experience was a C-section. Everyone was great, but there was one nurse I had during the day that was not very compassionate. As a result, I was always afraid to ask her for anything. Being a new mom and trying to recover from a c-section, this was very difficult. Due to this experience, I have been a bit apprehensive about the type of care I would receive after.. however, each one has been amazing.... even the times I have been sent pre-labor to check and ensure everything is okay. This past experience (5/5-5/7/2021) was indeed one I would like to mention in a positive light. I went in and was hoping for a natural vbac birth. However, the pain soon got to be too much. So the anesthesiologist was called. Dr. Kevin R Zarmer started to prepare me for my epidural and during this time, my labor became intense. I have no idea how he managed to complete the epidural procedure. However, during the entire time, he encouraged me, did not get upset with me, and did his best to make me more comfortable.
During his procedure, however, the baby came to full completion. My labor and delivery nurse, I believe her name is Malynda, was 29 weeks pregnant herself. This did not slow her down at all. My labor was very intense and very painful. During the entire time she encouraged me to breath through the contractions, encouraged me and telling me I could do it, and never lost her cool or calm. I won't go into details, but my level of pain put me at a place where I could not think clearly, but I do remember her support and her professionalism. I honestly do not know if I could have made it through that delivery without that support. She was truly amazing. So, overall, I give 4 stars... however, if every experience had been like my last, I would have wanted to give over 5 stars. The after care I received was also very pleasant. I did not have a single nurse whom I felt was belittling me or treating me like a nuisance (unlike the first experience I had post c-section). When you get an amazing team of nurses and staff, the experience at this hospital can be amazing. I sincerely hope that the amazing staff is recognized and given the appropriate accolades so that their examples can be used for future patients at this hospital. Updated... So I have noticed that I may have had an epidural injury. I believe this was due to how intense my labor was. In hindsight, we should have probably stopped trying to do the epidural when I was that deep into active labor. I share because I want to encourage others that if you are unable to sit in the way the anesthesiologist is asking you, have them stop trying.

Great hospital - very clean, organized and highly skilled Dr’s and nurses

This was the best care I've had since adolescence. Things, good and bad, were all handled with kindness and good sense. Thank you for rekindling my faith and trust in the medical system! Mwah...mwah...mwaah

The staff at HonorHealth Scottsdale were wonderful. I'm a hard stick and Joe did an excellent job! Thanks guys!

Most pleased with care received 😊 Kudos to nurses Tracy & Jesse and Megan. Kitchen provided good meals in taste and presentation. All around no complaints. …

Posting about a positive experience with their ER, where my husband who had Covid -19 was treated better than I expected. We recently relocated to Arizona from the East Coast and when my husband needed tests to be run we weren’t sure where to turn. It seems every hospital in the area has poor reviews on Google. Decided to go to the Shea location and they got him checking in and started testing right away. Knowing how understaffed hospitals are, and knowing everyone is trying to do their best, I can’t complain about anything except for not being able to be with him while he was in a room for hours by himself.
A bonus about this location is that it’s across the street from one of the best shopping centers in Scottsdale. So instead of waiting for him idly at home with worry, I was able to get work done at Wildflower and did some retail therapy to at Home Goods.

This hospital is the best in my eyes. I had my kids here in 2001 & 2003. I was catered to like I was a celebrity at a 5 star hotel. They had just opened the new maternity wing and they were great then and again they were awesome for my recent stay. I had weight loss surgery and their bariatric team was amazing! The rooms are huge! All of the nurses and techs did an amazing job! Along with Michelle the supervisor! Thanks again!

Superb staff support and efficient medical attention. I was confident I was getting good care.

From day one what a great experience. Very organized. Staff are amazing. Not sure how they deal with us old folks but they do a great job. Highly recommend. Beth

Had the pleasure of being in the maternity unit of the hospital two days before Christmas and through Christmas last year for the delivery (ended up c-section) of our first grandchild (a sweet baby girl)!!!! Dr. Carter is completely awesome, what more can I say!!
Was so very impressed with every aspect of the maternity ward and staff of this hospital. Kelly (labor & delivery nurse - soon to be a midwife) was amazing with our daughter who was there many many hours... Kelly was so kind, attentive and helpful, guiding her and explaining everything as labor went along...
Cannot say enough good about the entire team!!! (I meant to write way sooner!!!!) For a first time mama the support and care extended to our daughter was wonderful to witness and so helpful to her as she began this huge job of becoming a mother!!
Our baby girl is thriving, nursing has been more then successful, we are all so very grateful for this hospital and remarkable team!!
PS - cafeteria food was pretty surprisingly (for a hospital) good too!!!

My stay at this facility was absolutely memorable. My dr. Dr. Arvind Bakhru kept me informed about my condition. The nurse staff and cafeteria staff was always concerned about what was best for me. I felt safe and got the best rest. 🤗 …

Staff was attentive and accommodating. Despite the circumstance, I had a pleasant. Thank you! :-)

Review for maternity. I had my baby here in 2018. It was a wonderful experience. My baby was getting ahead of himself, which was complicating the labor. But the nurses worked immediately to ease my pain, my contractions, and to make sure the baby was safe. I feel they were constantly checking on us to make sure we were doing well. After the delivery the attention didn't stop and right after the delivery they made sure me and my husband had skin to skin contact with the baby. They took pictures. They help me and the baby latch for breastfeeding!
I also appreciate that it was a private room during and after the delivery. Yes, nurses will check the baby and you often... and other people will also visit for different reasons but I think that's part of being in the hospital. The sofa for my husband was far from comfortable but Food was delicious! Also the special doorbell chime we press before leaving was very emotional. I'd have all my babies there and I'd recommend it to anybody who's looking for a hospital that will truly look after you and your special little one.

The ER Expierence was not their usual. Having said that, once I was taken back to the treatment room things moved quickly. I was admitted and in a room in an hour and a half. I was hospitalized 3 different times for acute diverticulitis. The nurses on the 5th floor are just amazing. My floor doctor was great.I recently went back for the 4th hospitalization, major Surgery. The surgeon was very skilled and caring, and so we're the nurses on the 2nd floor. This hospital is amazing , thank you to everyone who took such good care of me. I know the hospital is short staffed but it not affect the quality of care I received.

HonorHealth has been very informative all though my pre surgery. I have had several calls from nurses , and all we very polite and informative. If I had questions they would answer to the best of their ability.

I have had my boy delivered at this hospital and I love how amazing everyone was to us. My favorite nurses are: Josie, Jenn and Hilary. Sweetest ladies. They took care of me during my stay. I recommend all pregnant ladies to go there and deliver their baby
Geri Winward
They were very professional and helpful in explaining everything. Nice staff and clean and in time.
Jolene Tornabeni
Radiology nurse, Tammy and radiology PA, Megan were wonderful. Both were warm, explained procedure well, not rushed and showed empathy and compassion for concerns/fears. I felt secure in their hands.
Cheryl Wagner
Everyone was great at HonorHealth Although the nurse that put my pic in my wrist to get me set up for my IV drip did a horrible job my wrist is black and blue and green and still hasn’t healed.

I had an exceptional experience during surgery this past week. Registration was prompt, efficient, friendly and courteous. I think a supervisor saw me waiting and pulled me in to get me registered, went out of her way. Our volunteer I believe was Kathy was very personable, friendly and helpful. The preop area and routine was exeptional. It was very clean and organized. I was met by Elijah who took his time getting me weighed and in a gown and prepped for surgery. My nurse was very kind and patient and professional. Sarah and Dr. Garth from the anesthesia department were also very nice. The whole staff was very friendly and I never felt rushed. Cant really speak to the operating room as my memory ended as I entered the OR doors (must have gotten some Versed!). And of course, Dr. Lamm was the balm! Kudos to all of your staff and facility. Awesome!

My care was excellent. I had to spend the night in recovery. All the nurses were very attentive and made me very comfortable.

My brother was hospitalized there Tuesday October 19th, due to hallucinations and incoherency. I am his sister living in California and I was besides myself, figuring out how to help him. Working with this Hospital staff, has shown me the compassion, integrity and hard work they exemplify to their patients. My brother Reggie had two of the most precious, caring, thoughtful, nurses named Anna and Lauren. When I'm calling from California to try to get status updates on my brother Reggie in room 3331, I was fortunate to be able to interface with Anna and Lauren who helped significantly decrease my stress levels. My brother Reggie is dealing with multiple myeloma, and I felt so overwhelmed trying to figure out what was causing the hallucinations.
These two nurses, Lauren and Anna would fill me in on his status , the outcome of his test, the plans or tests scheduled for that day. I can not express how these two guardian angels ensured Reggie was accomodated, comfortable, and kept us both connected, from two seperate states!!
Thank-you so much Anna and Lauren for your compassion, kindness and attention to detail. Honor Health, you are lucky to have such wonderful, Professional, kind nurses on your staff. They are truly an asset to your organization.....💕🙏

I have only been to this location for testing services and all of the staff at this location have been great - friendly, courteous, knowledgeable... always happy with the care I've received at this location. The big thing less than ideal is that this location is huge, sprawling, and poorly designed. There is no available parking... last appt was a 6 minute walk from my car to the hospital. They do have valet if you're Ok waiting 20 minutes when picking up your car. And even once your in the hospital... everything is spread out all over - it's a bit difficult to navigate around in the facility. Also seems a bit run down/dated but clean.
Lots of "hurry up and wait" when going here. Check in / sign in and wait, register and wait.... HonorHealth likes you to use the e-checkin service but then you still have to go to Registration/Admission when you arrive. And they have had me sign the same packet of 5/6 documents 3 times in the last 3 months. I'd recommend non HonorHealth affiliated providers... and if you do have to use HonorHealth, try to utilize other locations.

Took my father for an outpatient procedure and they did a great job! The nurses were first class, the facility is great and the caring was exceptional!
Laura Chesley
Check in, registration and prep for surgery were smooth and uneventful. Staff was thoughtful and helpful. Thank you to everyone at Piper for a comfortable experience.

My doctor scheduled me for surgery at Honor Health Shea. I trust him explicitly but was apprehensive about the hospital after seeing several low ratings on Google. My experience was 100% positive. Every employee (doctors, nurses, and staff) I encountered was warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The nurses I had caring for me were excellent. Food services I have to compliment too as the food was hot and very tasty. If I ever need surgery again...I’d use this hospital without hesitation. A solid 5 stars.

I birthed my 2 children here, and the experience was very good. There was 1 incident with a nurse who told me "that baby is coming out on top or coming out below, you have 45 minutes" but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt as I was in labor for over a day. The facilities are older, but the care and attention is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to this hospital.
Courtney Pendleton
Had a wonderful experience in labor and delivery. My L&D nurse was amazing! As well as all the nurses that took care of us afterwards. Was very nervous about how it would all go being a first time mom, but the staff eased all my nerves and made the experience a positive one. Thank you for everything!

My daughter recently had her 3rd baby at the Honor Health Scottsdale Shea birthing center. I was able to be in the room for the entire labor and after delivery . I was amazed at the quality of care she received. Every nurse she had (they changed shifts while she was in delivery) was kind, compassionate and competent. The doctors (anesthesiologist & OB) were friendly, communicating each procedure. They were patient and non condescending-very personable, yet competent. The facility was clean and family friendly. There was plenty of room for additional family members in the room. My daughter and her family enjoyed the food. I was truly impressed with the excellent quality of care.
Valerie Brooks
The staff at this facility was absolutely AMAZING starting with the ER Nurse all they way to housekeeping on the floor. My mom has been in many hospitals over the last 5-10 years and this facility had the best care out of all of them. The room was amazing, hospital grounds and facilities were beautiful. However, the medical professionals were even better!
Felicia Gaumond
Overall the experience was fantastic. The only setback for me was social services took 4days to get me transferred to a rehab. I was also told that I would probably be able to take ice machine home to ice my knee but at the end I was told I couldn’t have it

** Update: The Labor and Delivery director reached out to get further information and offered her personal support going forward. One additional star given for her great follow-up on my bad experience!**
I love my doctor (Dr. Schwartz). This is one of 2 hospitals that she does deliveries at and it is the closest to my home. Seemed like a simple decision to have my first child here. I went into labor about 2 weeks early and Dr. Schwartz was out of town. I was disappointed, but figured everything would be fine. Dr. DeSanto was a kind, knowledgeable substitute. I wish the other experiences of having my baby were as smooth. Upon arrival at the hospital, the two women in the lobby taking temperatures for COVID were nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the woman at reception in Labor and Delivery was not friendly or helpful. Alex and Cherokee were our first nurses and they were wonderful. But, it was the end of their shift when we arrived, so we ended up with a rude nurse with terrible bedside manner for the remainder of my labor and delivery. She said things like, “All my other deliveries tonight have gone into emergency C-sections. Hopefully we won’t have to do that with you.” And “We could start pushing soon, but I don’t want to stand here and push with you for 3 hours.”
The anesthesiologist was good for the short time he was there, but the epidural wore off/was not fully effective, because the nurse wasn’t coming in to regularly check/move my legs (which I couldn’t do on my own). I was already upset that I didn’t have my own doctor and the rest of my experience delivering left plenty to be desired.
After the baby was born, I needed some support with nursing, being a first time mom. Many of the nurses were condescending about “helping” and just did things themselves instead of teaching me. Jenn was by far the best nurse we had (aside from our brief experience with Alex and Cherokee) and actually tried to teach me. Other than her, we were lucky to see one of the nurses come around every hour, it was usually about 2.
The first pediatrician didn’t introduce herself as a doctor. She just came in and asked if she could check the baby’s vitals. On the day of discharge, the second pediatrician was the main reason we were discharged over 6 hours later than we were told we would be. We kept getting told he should be right in all morning. I had already been cleared by my doctor, but the baby needed to have vitals checked again. We weren’t discharged until 2pm after him looking at her for 5 minutes. We then waited an hour for a wheelchair to be able to leave.
After this experience, I received the bill we had been expecting for my services (the only bill we were told about/given an estimate for). We paid it. A few weeks later, we got the separate $1600 bill for the baby that we weren’t told to expect as first time parents. She is a “separate entity” is what I was told when I called in and that it was a “pretty good price.” About a month and a half after that, I got a SEPARATE bill from a third party pediatric group (which again, I wasn’t expecting/told about). Yesterday, 3 and a half months after my child was born, I received ANOTHER separate bill from an anesthesiologist group due this Friday. Less than a week to pay $600 after not being aware there were/would be anymore outstanding charges. Plus, I had a line item on my HonorHealth statement for anesthesiology.
When I reached out to HonorHealth billing, Edna told me that I was told about the separate billing in our “deposit” statement. I never received one of those, so no, Edna, I was not told. This is unethical, in my opinion, to spring surprise charges on patients. Be upfront about all charges or figure out how to incorporate them into the one bill. You are taking advantage of the people who actually pay their bills.
I am so disgusted with this hospital. I love my doctor, but I guess I either need to look into the other hospital she delivers at or make a different plan for my future children. If you have the option, pick a different place to deliver your child.

Wonderful, thorough and friendly staff! Great pre-op testing experience!
Sarah Lutman
Had my baby here and was so happy with them. The nurse was phenomenal, room was great, they took such good care of me and even the food was top notch! I live in a different part of town now and my OB moved out of state, but I will make the drive to see an OB that delivers there if I am ever pregnant again. That is a non-negociable. My baby unexpectedly came 2 months early and the NICU team was right there to take care of him. I highly recommend anyone having a little one to go to Scottsdale Shea. You and your baby will be well taken care of even if the unexpected happens. Although I pray no one is ever in our position or a similar one, those are things you need to think about. Am I delivering in a place where my baby is taken care of? If that happens, can I be right down the hall from my baby? If you deliver as Osborn the answer is no. Rest assured mom and baby are taken care of here.
I haven’t received the medical bills yet so who knows, that could change my rating 😂 and experience but as long as they bill my insurance correctly, my rating at 5 stars will stand
Felicia Julian
I had to go to the emergency room a few days ago early in the morning. The waiting room was empty and I was seen immediately. The care and timing in which I was seen is not what concerns me. After I had been examined and had a CTscan, the nurse practitioner came to give me the results. I was given the name of a doctor that is affiliated with Honor Health and instructions to follow up with my doctor in 1-2 days. I am not a resident of Arizona and here visiting family for several weeks. I called the referred doctor’s office twice and did get a call back on the third day. I was told that they could schedule me with the doctor in March or nurse practitioner sometime in February. Clearly I was upset because I was given some scary results at the hospital. I would extend my stay to have some testing done but not a month and a half. If the hospital is going to refer a patient within their network, then it should be someone you can see in a relatively decent time period or a suggest another doctor. What if I couldn’t travel because of my condition. Again, the caregivers in the emergency room were wonderful and I would not want this review to be a poor reflection of them. Thank you.
Cheryl Mullins
The staff was excellent!!! I told them they all deserved many gold stars.

Shout out to all the amazing nurses in labor and delivery and everyone in the NICU! They took excellent care of me and baby. Unfortunately I had to leave my baby in NICU but I felt very comfortable doing so knowing he was in safe hands. The only downside to this experience was not being able to have visitors and having such a strict policy with support partner coming in and out of hospital due to COVID. Obviously not the hospital fault, just trying to keep us safe but it was scary being alone most of the time as a first time mom but they made me feel very safe and comfortable during my 4 day stay. Again thank u NICU and all the nurse staff!
linda matrician
Was brought in for chest pain. Everyone in ED was kind and compassionate. All staff helped each other with great teamwork. Admitted to 3B. Everyone I encountered from housekeeping, transport, nursing, imaging, cardiac care were competent and caring. Physician and NP had care plan very quickly and interventions scheduled and completed efficiently. Could not have had a better experience during a stressful time. Thank you all.
Patricia Crawford
Very kind, caring, explains everything, patient & prompt. Excellent Care!

Obviously I can’t speak for all other experiences but only for mines. My wife had our second kid here and it was an awesome experience. The nurse was very nice in handling any of our situations and was very experienced in baby-delivery. With the help of doctor Janice Donelly, my wife gave birth to beautiful daughter but she was having issue with oxygen level. My baby had to go in incubation and being monitor by other nurses. Every single one of them was so nice and caring which made me feel a little at eased. After making sure my baby oxygen level is where it should be, they monitor both mom and kid for couple more days. In those days, we had great food (grilled salmon was really good) and the room was big and a small bed for a father to stay there. My first kid was at Tbird Banner and it was a joke. They did not even have enough room for a folding bed to slide in. I had to sleep on the floor until they found a small fold chair that I could lay. Two hospitals, same amount of money I paid but the experiences were very different.

Every patient needs this. Kindness is a healing tool. Reviews are important and all
patients need to review for their self empowerment.

I have surgery at this hospital on June 24, 2020. The staff is amazing. The 5th floor staff is awesome. I would like to to thank a special nurse name Sharon or Sarah. I was on pain medicine and can’t remember what the board said. The supervisor on the floor should know I am talking about. She took great care of me. She went over and beyond. She makes the stay Tolerable. She really should get some kind of Recognition. Thanks a bunch.

I was treated very well. From the moment I walked thru the door until I was discharged. The whole experience could not have been better!
Rena Schuck
My daughter was in this hospital for 5 1/2 weeks, 4 of them in ICU. I can't say enough good things about the care she received there! The nurses were all wonderful, caring and professional. The doctors were usually available to speak to me and to answer questions. Although some of them were nicer and more helpful than others!! I would recommend this facility to anyone.

I'm so grateful to the NURSES, DOCTORS & ALL STAFF involved in my care! I had a C-Section on 6/4/2020, during the pandemic and I was extremely nervous. I cannot thank them enough for making me feel at ease. They were comforting and warm hearted. I'm sure it must've been even more difficult during these unprecedented times but they continued to do their job with so much grace. THANK YOU!

Friendly atmosphere, caring staff. Prompt service.
I don't like going to the hospital but, when it's necessary, I choose HonorHealth.

I had surgery this week at the Scottsdale Shea Hospital. After surgery I was transferred to my room on the second floor, 2163. I cannot say enough good things about the care I got from the nurses on this floor. They were excellent, superb, informative, attentive to my needs, sensitive, kind and very caring. I came away from this experience feeling better, healing from my surgery and grateful for the excellent care by my doctor and the medical staff at this hospital. It was extremely clean and everything was very professional. The food was terrible.

We really had a great experience delivering our child here. Staff was both very friendly, and professional. Everything they did was communicated thoroughly and executed efficiently. This is true for Labor and Delivery, the Mother Baby unit, the hospital staff in general, and our care team at Papago Buttes Pediatrics. The staff (nurses, doctors, technicians, and everyone else) continued to make us comfortable after the delivery as well. We were not sure how this process would go because of covid but they had measures in place to ease the challenges. The a la carte menu and delivery from the cafeteria is great. Quick, good quality, and good selection. Also, the wifi was great as well.
Amber Lehn
Excellent care and treatment. The staff and team were excellent. Dr Weiner & his team di an amazing job! World class medical care!

Care at Honor Health has been a blessing. When I first arrived here after visiting another well known hospital (will remain unmentioned 😷 bannerly) I knew I was at the right place!
Doctors, nurses, staff, pulmonary therapists, everyone was great! Yes we all have a bad day learn to be forgiving. This place is the place to be - thank you to the nurses that work tirelessly, doctors that put up with my questions and answer them to my satisfaction.
Thank you to the cafeteria that punked me a few times, food was good and I’m picky.
My 2 year journey to find this haven was and is a blessing. Thank you Dr. Klein, Dr Amini, Dr. Loreman, Dr. Lesser, Dr. Gargiulo, Dr. Friedman, Dr. Crowe, Dr. Thosani, Dr Andersen, Dr Valenzuela, Dr. Marin.

Beyond grateful for the PIC Unit at this hospital. The doctor's the nurses were amazing towards my daughter. Child life was just as amazing and so was OT and RT. I can never stop thanking everyone involved in making my daughter feel so loved and cared for during a critical and scary moment in her life and ours. We will forever be thankful!
Tyler Crowe
Forget the strange 1 star reviews for this place because it is a great hospital. Nurses work hard, and every nurse has a bad day at some point in the world because they deal with people like us. The whole staff was very caring and knew how to get things done, especially considering the overflow they are currently dealing with due to a recent nearby OB hospital shutdown. Highly recommend this facility. Likely one of the better ones in the nation. Give credit where much credit is due.
Sara
Great hospitality, and treats you with so much compassion and care. I love this place
Jennifer Brun-Orcutt
Had a surgical procedure here and all went well. Great doctor, nice nurses and staff. Had to do follow up blood work 6 months later, so I went to the hospital's facility to have it drawn. Big mistake. Though I thought I was covered, as my procedure had been months earlier, my portion for the draw was over 900 dollars. I had been told it was a special draw, but none of the labs required were out of the ordinary, and I am a nurse. I almost fainted when I got the bill. I guess I should have double checked, but I assumed it was in network. Not happy and I refuse to pay.
Pat Ellarby
I have felt very well cared for by people who care.
5 stars to all

I had emergency surgery at HonorHealth Shea. The hospital brought in Dr. Rashidi who did a great job, I recovered quickly with no complications. Everyone at Shea was great. The nurses never let me give up because I thought I had cancer. Special thanks to RN Emily who drilled it into me from the ER to the 5th floor every chance she got, I was going to be fine. She was right, the tumor turned out to be benign! I was on cloud 9. I'll never forget you. The Dr. did almost too good a job, I would have enjoyed staying a little longer as I was on a restricted diet and never did get to sample the food which is supposed to be great! Thanks again, to everyone.
Sara Fisher
My mom just had a very tough surgery and was placed at the Piper Recovery area. Unbelievable service! The nurses are incredible over there!

AMAZING! So blessed ! Not only is the expertise in the icu pediatrics department heavenly but overall the health center within shea. There active goals to reassure humanities strength and to power oneself but multiply and equally push the good and the bad . Beauty! Never give up! The power in oneself is exactly what we need to survive ! Thank you for providing that expertise ! I see you ! And We are blessed! Thank you!
Brian Savino
The entire staff was fantastic! From the concierge and Intake to the RNs and Doctors, everybody was friendly, fun and caring. I highly recommend this facility.
Nancy Paravicini
I have a close friend who had a cardiac procedure and was in the ICU for 4 days. No one ever offered her any kind of personal care, not even to brush her teeth or give her a warm wash cloth after she had used the bedpan. As an old RN, I was horrified. Finally, 2 days after her arrival, her husband found the emesis basin and was able to help her brush her teeth!!! What has happened to nursing care? All about the paperwork???
Maria Vizzerra
The staff from admitting very courteous,
The Dr and his staff were absolutely amazing
In every sense of the word. Everything was explained in detail before during and after my test.
Shari Falk
Well organized and efficient. Communication good between doctor and patient and those in waiting.
D'Anthony Smith
Really great service and care shown from the doctors and staff. My mom was in a fatal car accident with went into a seizure, soon as she arrived to HonorHealth she was properly taken care of and examined. The doctors and nurses are very nice, professional, and creates a great interpersonal relationship at the same time.
Janet Bentley
I had an excellent experience from the moment I went to admitting to the time I was released. I was very nervous, having never had a cardiac cath procedure and was reassured at every stage.
Yerckie Insurance
Phenomenal staff in the Triage and Birthing Center. Made my wife feel extremely comfortable and at ease! Mariel N was our delivery nurse and Dr Kelly Helms our OBGYN! Jordan, our nighttime nurse was great as well. Once moved to the 3rd floor for post delivery the kindness, attention to detail, and constant availability to help was non stop. Highly recommend this location! However, once discharged the last person to enter the room was a lady from billing. My wife in pain from post labor, the baby crying and she is asking for a balance to be paid! The last impression dampened the mood. Honor Health, JUST mail the bill instead of sending a rude person with zero empathy to collect a bill! Even the nurses were disgusted by this. Still get 5 stars in my opinion but that lady pissed me off and was told to beat it!! Figure out a way to fix this! And figure out a way to give your nurses a serious raise! They do more for your patients and families than I think you all realize!!
roger oliver
We are working there renovating the fifth floor all the staff seem very friendly have been eating in the cafeteria the food is very good I was pleasantly surprised

I just recently gave birth here. I had a hard labor process but the nurses were great and insured that I had everything I needed and was as comfortable as possible. Natalie was my favorite. She made me feel very comfortable, extremely welcome. She went the extra mile and definitely deserves recognition for it. Thank you guys for such a great experience!

Have had several surgeries and visits at Honor Health
And the service has always been excellent. Have had
4 surgeries done there over the last 20 years and every one had a great result. I always felt treated as a valued patient and not a commodity. Thank you Honor Health Shea.
Hans Heitzinger
Excellent care and staff that truly cares for the patients. We had a poor experience in 2014 with quite a few rude staff members when we had our first baby but are happy to have a much more positive experience 4 years later with our third baby. Keep up the good work!

My wife and are nurses so we are always very vigilant when we go to a healthcare facility. My son was delivered here and also admitted once at 8 months old. The staff, accomodations, and care has always been top notch. From the ED, to L&D, to peds, every experience (given the circumstances) exceeded my expectations.

Best staff I have ever encountered. I have unfortunately been in the care of quite a few hospitals in the last 2 years with major surgeries and most recently cancer. I have never been cared for as well as I have here. All of my doctors, nurse practitioners, and especially the nurses and aids are well coordinated and held to a much higher standard. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Shout out to Nurse Amy, aka Fancy Pants in the endoscopy suite. Thanks for making this experience easy (and kinda fun)!

Everyone was so kind and Dr. Swain did a beautiful job with my Gastric Bypass!!! Thank you everyone!

This hospital treated me incredibly well. I’d smashed my finger in a workman’s comp accident and they had me wrapped up and home in like 1.5 hours or less. That includes a very minor surgery. The nurses were all very nice and helpful.

After scanning all the negative reviews, I feel compelled to submit my own highly positive one! This hospital & its ER have served our family for 30 years. Though their ER does tend to be a bit conservative (several times, we’ve had to visit 2 days in a row before conditions deemed serious enough for admission), the ultimate outcomes have been more than satisfactory. Several years ago, I experienced a life-threatening situation, which necessitated emergency surgery and a 10-day stay. The treatment and service couldn’t have been better (though, in retrospect, I find it ironic that, as a 101-pound female, I was admitted into the Bariatric Unit, where all accommodations are super-sized!). The Hospitalists, to a “man, ” as well as the nursing staff, were all excellent.

It's a hospital, so pretty typical along those lines. Well kept with large updated facilities. Nice grounds and the cafeteria is better than typical 'hospital food'.
Jennifer Sidoff
Excellent experience from start to finish. Got great care from the staff. Had a really nice private recovery room.

Thank you to Amber RN, Cathrine RN, and Megan PA in the emergency room for your great care while I had my first ED visit in my life. As a nurse you worry how you will be treated, but my visit went smoother then expected. I appreciate the care all three of these ladies gave to me, I had a great experience.

Everyone treated me with respect and professionalism. I highly recommend this place

UPDATE 12/14/16: you wouldn't think a hospital could change so much in one year but it can and it did. Read my post from a year it ago, it was great, it was marvellous, it was magical. Juxtapose that to a year later and it's literally poo, the level of care went down significantly, I felt like chatle, it was horrible. I am just grateful it wasn't my first delivery otherwise I may have tied my tubes and never be inside this hospital again. PREVIOUS POST IN 2015 I delivered my baby girl here on 4-24-15 and I swear the ward is staffed by angels. The place was very clean and nurses were attentive. Although at the beginning they wouldn't put me in a regular room, for a very long time. I was induced and they have a rule that the room is only for "active" labor. Whatever the hell that means, I was still in pain, it felt real to me.
Other than that, I'm very pleased.

Excellent facility and staff. Very caring and knowledgeable. Admitting procedure archaic. Had to fill forms and answer questions two or three separate times! Electronic, manual and in person!

Emergency admittance that turned into 10 days. Absolutely positive experience. Very friendly, professional, caring, and took the time to resolve my problem. Everyone was great!

In the Valley, I have had past experiences at multiple Banner hospitals, St. Joe's and Mountain Vista for ER and Surgeries. Bar None, Scottsdale Shea Medical Center surpasses all other hospitals in treatment and service, kindness and compassion. Three years ago, I had my 3rd back surgery with Dr. Yeung (BEST SPINE DOCTOR IN THE WORLD) at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea location. I was treated kindly and with respect by all of the support staff - from intake, to the food staff, cleaning staff and all of the nursing/doctors. For this seventh surgery, a double fusion by Dr. Yeung, I requested to return to this location to have my surgery because of the previous care, kindness and respect shown to me and my wife, three years ago. Is it possible to have a great experience in a hospital? If so, I did! From the moment my wife and I came to check in for surgery Thursday, July 11, 5:30AM, we both were treated with care, kindness, respect and compassion. We will do our best to recall every single person that treated us so kindly and if we miss anyone, please know we did not encounter any single person that was less than lovely in this hospital. The valet were so kind, compassionate and carted my wife back and forth to our vehicle for needed supplies during our stay. The intake woman, whom I do not recall her name (SO NICE) made everything easy, understandable and was fun! The volunteers were all happy, kind, loving, helpful - amazing!!! Pre-Op and Surgery were easy - not stressful...They explained everything to us. The anethesiologists names were Jay and Steve - AMAZING! I am a special case and can not take opiates so they were extra careful with me and my needs. Dr. Yeung is an amazing surgeon with a staff that equally portrays the same expertise, knowledge and kindness. The entire polished process at HonorHealth kept my wife informed of what I was going through and the timing involved, start to finish. On the 5th floor after surgery, I stayed two nights and three days with Brittany, Danni and Allison as my nurses. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING! Special thank yous to Allison for the night she came on she walked into me having sever pain and distress and she went the extra mile to make sure she made me comfortable and kept me informed. She took care of me all that night so that my wife could get some sleep. They have space for my wife to stay with me and treated her with respect, honor and kindness the entire stay. We encountered wonderful people who took my blood pressure (Shout out to Connor!) and aided me when I needed help. The food staff was so friendly and the food was fantastic! I might have over-eaten! SO GOOD! The staff doctor, Dr. Parker was professional, caring, kind, helpful and respectful - just a really nice doctor! My wife and I can not say enough to show our gratitude for my care and how thankful we have been to be able to find a SAFE PLACE to have surgery. There is no comparison to the other places I have been. Scottsdale Shea has treated us like we are people.

I had my baby at Shea hospital back on April 12, right in the middle of when COVID was starting to hit hard. We didn’t know what to expect walking into a hospital during the pandemic, we felt very uneasy. By the time of discharge I walked out of Shea hospital with our newborn and having the best experience. This was my 3rd baby but first time at Shea. I have to hands down give all the kuddos to my L & D nurses. They were the absolute best! I had 2 to get me thru my delivery one I can’t remember her name but she was the absolute sweetest and the other was Stephanie. Stephanie put all my nerves to ease with how she handled the delivery. My babygirl gave me such a hard time leading up to and during the delivery. Thank God for these wonderful women and helping us welcome our baby girl!

Care was first class. Drs and nurses were on hand and caring. I rate the facility a ten.

I have nothing but the highest marks for everyone that I came in contact with at Honor Health Hospital on Shea Blvd in Scottsdale Arizona. From the staff in the registration and appointment check in section, to the extensive nursing staff in the radiology department, to Dr. Newbold, the radiologist that performed my biopsy, I could not have asked for a better and more professional experience! These are people that really care about their patients and go out of their way to make you feel good! Thanks to all!!

I broke my left femur. Surgery and care were exceptional

I needed emergency surgery and they diagnosed me correctly and saved my life. I’m a physician myself at the VA hospital Phoenix.
They saved my life the nursing care and staff were friendly and professional.
The food was excellent more like at a hotel then at a hospital. I can say this was the best hospital food I ever ate.

Amazing staff and doctors! At 42yrs old, I have had 2 heart attacks. Always gone to Banner. Went to Scottsdale Shea Medical with severe chest pains and they found the problem within hours. I am now scheduled for aortic valve replacement in 3 weeks. After 2 heart attacks and coding the first time, Banner didn't even bother looking into the issue. The doctors are awesome and everyone is extremely friendly. This is the only hospital I will ever return to and my fear of open heart surgery isn't as bad knowing that I have a surgeon who cares.

Staff very nice. Everything went very smooth. Thank you. 😊 …

Had to have surgery and spend the night I have had a few years ago an unpleasant experience with this place but they were not honor health at that time. This time from the moment i walked in the door til I left everyone was so helpful and pleasant. My daughter also said it didn't matter who she came in contact with there, everyone was helpfuland pleasant to her and the kyds. I do not want to have to go back to a hospital but if I ever did I would hope it is there. Great job!!!

Wonderful staff!!! From intake to discharge every person I encountered was absolutely amazing and kind. All facilities should take note and use this as a model of excellence.

I had surgery at the Scottsdale Honorhealth Surgery Center 2 weeks ago. I was super scared and nervous about the operation. Everyone was so compassionate and kind to me. Thank you so much for the excellent care you guys provided me! The ladies who registered me, the pre-op nurses- Mary and 3 others took care of me, all were great! The anesthesiologist was awesome! My doc, Dr Wilson, and her asst, Kurt, who performed the procedure perfectly! The post-op nurses- Sam, Laura, Katie, Julie! You all were fantastic! Thank you! And also Susie in the PATTS dept who talked to me over the phone ahead of time to let me know what to expect. She was awesome too!😁👍

If you have a loved one in need of help, this is the place to go. The staff is wonderful. They care. They treat the whole person, and not just the ailment in front of their eyes. My grandfather has been in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in recent months, and always, they would focus on the side-effects... the little problems they thought they could handle. Time and time again, I would remind them that there was an underlying issue that needed to be resolved... a complication from a surgery, or an intolerance to the tube feed formulas (which are garbage), but nobody would listen. They would focus on the task at hand. I heard, "we can only treat him for what he was admitted for" far too many times. They're referencing the pneumonia that was a result of vomiting and aspirating, instead of getting to the bottom of the chronic vomiting. Here, when I asked if they could treat all of his ailments, and the cause of the latest bout of pneumonia, they said, "Absolutely." The staff has treated him with love and respect, and they are incredibly knowledgeable. We are finally getting the tests that we need, and with the results can plan a course of action. Everywhere else said they can't or won't. This facility says they will, and they have. 5 stars doesn't do them justice.

From the time i walked through the main entrance the staff was very friendly and jumped to help me and take me to registration once there the lady who registered me was very professional and got me registerd in a timely manner i literally sat in waiting less then a minute and they came out to take me to preop get me ready for surgery once there the nurses and assistants were amazing after surgery i was in recovery where once again theyade sure i was comfortable then tooke to my room whete my nurses and everyone came to see how i was and my whole time i was on the 5th floor bariatric nurses were compassionate caring and they helped me in every way possible I would recommend everyone to go to Scottsdale Shea Honorhealth hospital because they dont treat you as their next project but as if you are their family...

Admitted from out of state with pneumonia. I've been impressed with staff quality and friendliness. Food is good. However, I see a definite lack of use of hand sanitizers which in our area are at entry to each room for personnel and public use. Masks are encouraged and sometimes required in flu season. Our hospital has a great safety record for low infection rate though all hospitals have some. I hope honor health starts to focus on the issue.

I gave birth here almost two months ago I know I'm late but it was honestly the best experience. I came in at 37 weeks for some swelling and was diagnosed with preeclampsia and was induced the night I arrived. My health was very concerning but because of how awesome the nurses were and how friendly and helpful they were and the excitement from welcoming the greatest gift life has given me and my fiancé I didn't really feel sick or anything from my condition. If I could get everyone's name( I'm sorry I had so many nurses from my time there and if I could remember everyone's name I promise I would) and personally thank them for everything I would. Definitely would like to thank Donna! I had her for about 3 nights out of my 6 day stay and she left a positive impact on me and my families lives. She made me like I was at home. But I'd really love to send a letter or something to every nurse I had and just thank every single last one of you. You guys were just so amazing I can't get over it. I'd love to deliver here every time. Just a great group of people. Everyone from the room serviceto the nurses and doctors. Thank you so much for everything!

Parking lot small and often crowded. However, free chaffeur parking lot is available. Check-in for outpatient surgery was quick. Online pre-registration glitches. Rapid COVI

Had 2/3 babies here and loved my experience!! The drs and nurses were amazing and so helpful and kind. I had my 1st at paradise valley hospital and the drs/my nurses were amazing but some of the NICU nurses were just horrible and shouldn't have worked with babies

Its a hit or miss on the nurses and aid's. I had one nurses aid who insisted I use a bed pan because I was dizzy during the night.... All she needed to do was help me walk to the rest room! I REFUSED to use the bed and got up and stumbled to the toilet, once she saw I meant business she left the restroom door open and the hallway door open so everyone passing in the hallway could see what I was doing! I reported her the very next morning. However, I had awesome care from many other nurses... so again its a hit and miss... I was there for 2 weeks. The food... was horrible... but its hospital food.

I was admitted at Scottsdale Shea for 12 days. I couldn't have asked for better care! Each and every nurse (day & night shifts) was very compassionate, caring, and had impeccable bedside manner. All the Dr.'s who saw me were all on the same page as to my care and communicated anything that conflicted. They were very open about my surgery, treatment., and f/u care. I find this NOTso common in other hospitals. I will ONLY go to this hospital... EVER!
Ryan Halldorson

Appointment time was met, courteous staff at check-in, and person conducting test was courteous and took time to explain the test.

I was here two months ago for hand surgery. The doctor was excellent and nurses and all the staff great! Well I am back again now because I have broken the exact same bone in my hand from 2 months ago! I am not terribly happy about having to be in any hospital. But if you have to go to the hospital, this is one you want to be at!
Golden Rule
I'd give 2 1/2 stars if I could. Not the best, but also not the worst. I've lived in Scottsdale for almost 20 years. In December, 2013, my mother suffered a stroke in Michigan and I went to care for and help rehabilitate her. I worked very closely with the Rehab staff at Garden City Hospital for a month before she was released, doing everything I could to assist the nurses, nurses assistants (and even her doctors) because I wanted her to get well quickly.
Fast forward to March, 2014. After four months I had to escape Michigan's Polar Vortex weather and return to AZ, and I convinced my mother to travel here with me. She was getting better each day, especially with the help of Health South Rehab at Shea Blvd. and 96th Street where she did outpatient sessions.
Unfortunately, she started experiencing symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure and the Friday before Mother's Day I had to take her to Scottsdale Healthcare Shea's ER. The ER staff was very nice but we did have about an hour's wait (and that was after I questioned them as to why people who'd come in after us were already being taken back to be seen). AS WITH ANY HOSPITAL it's extremely helpful if you have an ADVOCATE (relative, friend) speaking up for you to make sure you don't fall through their "cracks." After my mom was diagnosed with CHF by a very pleasant ER doctor she was taken to her room. The appropriate tests were run (chest x-ray, EKG, urine sample, blood tests, etc.) and I was under the impression a diagnosis would be made quickly and action would take place.
The nurses were mostly younger, and nice enough because I like to engage them in conversations about themselves so I can get to know them and relate on a human level (and at the same time help them to remember me/my mom as their patient). However, I got the distinct feeling there was communication lacking between staff and doctors and even between staff members themselves.
It was frustrating to wait three days before we FINALLY spoke with the surgeon who would be performing a valve replacement on mom's heart. The nurse(s) kept telling us he'd be there, so I would stay in her room until late (11:30pm) waiting. One nurse also gave us such misinformation about what would happen as soon as we spoke to this surgeon I was blown away at how far off base she was. And yes, mom had an "accident" before reaching the potty which she received assistance with; however, housekeeping didn't clean it up until over an hour later. Disgusting.
I've worked with hospital personnel at four different hospitals over the past 13 years advocating for both my father (RIP, 2009) and mother, still kicking at 85 yrs. old. I am not a shy person and I've done extensive reading on their conditions, so when there is a problem I search out someone - ANYONE- who will answer me. Many times I've pitched right in with obtaining things my parents have needed (that I was NOT going to let them wait 30 minutes for), from warm blankets, personal hygiene products and food, to medications and pain relief devices. I know for a fact I prevented my parents' deaths' over a half-dozen times.
No hospital is perfect when it comes to their staffs, but I agree with a lot of the other reviewers. Scottsdale Healthcare Shea could use some MAJOR improvement in their attitudes and practices regarding their patients. Maybe they are understaffed? Whatever the reason, I will not be put off if I need an answer. I will HUNT DOWN a staff person or doctor. We are paying good money (insurance premiums) and our government is too (Medicare) to receive good healthcare. Don't stand for anything less! If you are put off (to wait) by a staff person and you need an answer immediately, ask to speak to their supervisor. Keep asking until somebody answers you. It's only fair - and you could save your loved one's life!

My adult son experienced excruciating back pain and was seen at another ER. His ct scan was negative and he was sent home, where he lives alone, with medication for pain. When the pain became unbearable 2 days later, he was taken by a friend to Honor Health Hospital on Shea boulevard in Scottsdale. Another scan returned negative results, but doctors did yet another scan with a contrast dye. The result was a dissection of the aorta. But for the tenacious approach of the doctors in the ER on this April night, he may well have died alone at his home. He received excellent care from his doctors and nurses for which we are deeply grateful.

The staff goes way beyond Place is clean I highly recommend This rehab to all This is top of the line Rehab The nurses And The Physical trainers work Well as a team
Mack D
I've been there several times and never received anything but first class service from everyone I came into contact with. The actual hospital rooms are fully equipped but appear to be more like a mid-luxury hotel room than a hospital room. When going to the ER, I've never had to wait more than half an hour before going back to be seen by a doctor. But if it was that good, I guess it would be crowded and service would take a lot longer to get. So, probably all those people saying it's terrible are probably right and all of you should go elsewhere. Leave this hospital to me. I'll suffer and be a martyr for the rest of you.

Staff was great. Knowledgeable and caring. Thanks to all of you for all you do.

I was shocked by the low average rating this excellent facility received.. We had our 2nd baby in HonorHealth Shea a week ago. We had nothing but great to say about our experience - top of the line equipment, spacious and comfortable rooms, top quality and effectiveness of care provided by their staff, great meal services, and all the other good things too many to recall. Thank you HonorHealth Shea!
