I was very pleased with the appointment as Rita listened to my concerns and agreed to try methotrexate again along with required lab orders. I also requested a change in my sulfasalazine scrip. However, my pharmacy cannot fill the one scrip without contacting the office and they are not responding to that request. I also fail to see where the change in my sulfasalazine scrip has been corrected. I have left a message and have tried to reach a live person at the office to no avail. So that is disappointing.

My advice is be a very good patient follow the program Dr Rita Gonzales puts you on, never miss a day taking meds she prescribes, keep a positive attitude and always communicate your progress slow or fast to Dr Rita. In the beginning it may seem like it’s taking forever to get better. Just do what she tells you as I did and in my case I have achieved results which got my life and activity level back to normal. My experience today was amazing. I have dealt with many providers in my life, and this was definitely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The receptionist was not only very helpful but also very kind. Dr. Al-Khoudari was very attentive and listened to everything I had to say. I’ve always had issues with doctors either ignoring my concerns or downplaying my symptoms, but I experienced none of that today. Instead, Dr. Al-Khoudari never second guessed or tried to minimize what I was experiencing. He was very thorough. I seen Dr. A back in 2016 after a prior rheumatologist, whom I’d seen for 14 yrs, stopped listening to my symptoms and wouldn’t treat my flare ups which rendered me to a walking shuffle. My first visit with Dr A he listened to my symptoms and medical history, examined me and took blood work. He reviewed my blood work which revealed high inflammation rate and confirmed my hx of sojourns, RA/ Lupus. He discussed a treatment plan with me which I agreed to which included to start of Enbrel shot and other med adjustments. I was reluctant about the shot at first but got the hang of it and in about a month my inflammation was down and was walking normal again. I highly recommend Dr A.

I've been to two hand doctors about the arthritis in my thumbs. Both gave me injections. Neither had the communication skills, and warmth of Dr. Al-Khoudari. Each of my last two doctors caused me extreme pain from the injections. Dr. Al-Khoudari took his time and it was a very positive experience. I had little to no pain after the injections. Both hands done at the same time. I kept expecting the pain, it never arrived. Very well done.

The only bummer was I was told to get there 30 minutes before my appointment and I still had to wait about 20 minutes after my appointment start time to see the doctor. Update 1/24/2022 Had my first tele-health appointment with Dr. Al-Khoudari and things went great. Communication was excellent without having to drive to the office. Worked out perfectly. Update 1/7/2020 Made another visit to Dr. Al-Khoudari to complete my treatment of PMR and all is OK. The doctor’s plan is working with no more joint pain. Thank You! Dr. Al-Khoudari always treats me with respect and courtesy. His treatments have proven to work and I trust his judgement. His office staff is pleasant and competent. Facilities are also nice. 9/11/19 Update Dr. Al-Khoudari continues to treat me for PMR and we are making progress. I’m very satisfied with Dr. Al. The office staff is great! 10/21/19 Update Dr. Al-Khoudari prescribed a steroid injection for my plantar fasciitis and it worked great. Good visit! 11/23/20 Update Dr. Al-Khoudari visit today for PMR update. Very happy with his professionalism and knowledge. Office staff is great. Ability to draw blood and perform analysis is very convenient in his office. All safety protocols in place. I felt very safe in the waiting room and office.

Compared to what I’ve heard about other rheumatologists, Dr A always takes the time to listen and give feedback during visits. He and his team also do a great job of responding to my messages on their portal. Their patient portal is so convenient for not only sending messages but for scheduling appointments as well as checking in for appointments. He runs a very efficient office.

I waited for nearly an hour for my appointment but other than the wait, I was satisfied with my visit. Their Billing Department is compromised. I got a INSTAMED text with the office name, copay amount and a link so I paid my bill (or so I thought). Weeks later, AAC contacted me for payment. Make sure to pay through the patient portal because scammers have their billing information.

Sometimes I feel that I only go there to pay to see him and get no care at all. No insurance so it is like they only want the money and are not concerned about my health. Changed offices and it is better. Different staff and it is a little better communication from them.

I will return to his office, but I think there are some improvements he could make that would help patients feel more at ease. She told me that the back page of the forms I filled out was confusing because she hadn’t gotten around to revising it. She was kind but unprofessional. I went to the mayo clinic for a second opinion and after almost $3000 out of pocket, that rhuematologist made contradictory notes on both my xrays and labs leading to no treatment. Fast forward to a week ago I was crippled in both feet for almost 8 months and I called his office to make and appointment and they got me in the next morning. Obviously I didn't feel good about cheating on my doctor for another clinic but he didn't make me feel bad at all. In fact, he immediately took my labs checked xrays and sent me home with medicine that day! 2 days later I was out of my walking boot and 4 days later I could fit in a shoe! So thankful for this man's knowledge and empathy to his patients! Since seeing his clinic his office moved and all new staff. His office is beautiful and clean and I'm so thrilled to be one of their patients!

I saw Dr Al-Khoudari 2 weeks ago, after having spent the better part of this year meeting with doctors chasing down a reason for my illness to no avail. Dr Al-Khoudari identified an autoimmune disease PMR was more than likely responsible for my illness and extreme pain. He also advised the only way to find out for certain was to try a 3 day test on Prednisone. If it was PMR , I would have immediate positive results. He was right on target and within 3 days I was feeling dramatically better for the first time in over 9 months. He was kind, he looked at me and understood what I was experiencing. But he was also no nonsense and direct in mapping out a plan. He communicates quickly on the online portal with answers to my questions. His office was not a "mill" it is a personal experience. The women who manage his office are also kind and they smile. This smaller experience was a breath of fresh air. Hi attitude and demeanor instill trust. If you need someone in your corner he is the right doctor. ADDED 10/1/20 It's been a year since I began working with Dr. Al-Khoudari - and he was correct about the PMR and has been so kind and caring during this past year. During my first appointment he stated, "If you are in pain I'm not doing my job." IThis was my first visit and I liked his straight forward approach! I had been to another RA doctor about a year ago and he was very vague in ouu conversations (3 visits) and ordered medications to take w/o explaining the side effects. I looked it up and there were 3 pages of side effects. I was unable to take it with my medical history and I called his office and they then called my pulmonologist who said no for me. then he ordered another drug commonly used for RA and it was approved my pulmonologist. The point is Dr Al-Khoudari was observant and listened to my history, lab results etc and said I DO NOT have RA but rather osteoarthritis. He then took the time to give me advice what to do, ordered a topical to try and OTC regimen that is safe. He then offered to continue to follow me if I chose or work on maintenance with my primary physician. this is the way medicine should be delivered.

That injection hurt so bad that I couldn't use my hand for 3 days after so when the pain came back I was reluctant to go back to them. I found Dr Al-Koudari and told him the situation. He assured me that he gives that type of shot to alot of patients and no one has had any pain with them. I agreed to let him do it. WOW is an understatement. Dr Al Khoudari approach is comprehensive and detailed, he listens and analyzes your symptoms seriously, for years I was lead to have ankylosis spondylitis and Dr Al Khoudari not being convinced by the unconventional inconclusive tests used to determine it went about doing his own investigation and testing determining that I do not show physical signs nor do I have it. It was a long life relief to hear that and I cannot thank him enough. I drive over an hour to see him and I would take a plane if need to. My name is Kim. I’m a 54 year old female and had a lot of pain in my left knee. I couldn’t walk without pain and had pretty much given up on exercise of any kind. I went to see Dr. Al-Khoudari who recommended a stem cell injection. It wasn’t cheap and I had a lot of concern about the effectiveness, but I felt my pain and lack of motion were worth any method that could solve my problem. Less than a week after my injection, my pain level went down significantly and I now have full range of motion in my knee. I won’t be running any marathons, but I feel so much better and I am extremely thankful to Dr. Al-Khoudari for recommending stem cell treatment.
