I am having trouble with the 2 oxygen concentrator that the hospital order for me. When I was discharged on December 1,2022, they are keeping my nose dry and blood clots in my nose. I cannot sleep at night because my nose keeps clogging up. I have not had a good night sleep since I left the hospital. I have call the oxygen Co several times. They said that it is working wright. Who can I turn to for help. I have called several places to get help. I guess that when you are a senior you are suppose to take what they give you.

Got a weird vibe that I was being watched in my ER room. I would check room 8 in the ER for hidden cameras specifically in the overhead lights and other areas of the room. Could be just paranoid but When I shined my flash into the overhead light an infrared beam was shining back indicating a possible device. Again I could be wrong but I just didn’t feel right. Other than feeling like I was being watched visit was fine no complaints about my care team

This is one of the best hospital in PA. My dad’s life was saved here. Everyone from this institution from doctors to parking garage personnel are respectful, helpful, and kind. We had the best experience here every time I bring my dad in for any service. Five stars is not enough to rate how great this place is. Big “THANK YOU” to all healthcare staffs for everything that you do!!

Let me start by saying Dr. Ian Frank is the best infectious disease doctor. Bedside manner second to none. Brilliant man. The best. I've been a patient at UPenn for 10 years. I always held hospital in high regard. Hostility, aggression, and bad attitudes however from Valet parking people. Very bad experience on the way to my appointment from them.

Penn is top notch facility with the ability to handle complex situations, but I clearly see the cracks in the care at the patient level. RNA and NPs don’t have specific and specialized knowledge to look after heart transplant patient. Unfortunately, doctors and surgeons are not paying attention or visiting patients regularly or catching the symptoms timely.
When the system is gigantic these cracks are dangerous to the patient recovery.
I have witnessed this personally and appalled the way the are handling.
The three stars for the facility but zero stars for the care. But without care the facility is meaningless, sorry to say this!

Back in March of 2021 I had Open Heart Surgery consisting of a 7 Hr. Procedure to replace my bad Aortic Valve and 3" section of Ascending Aorta. Am not sure if I wrote a review since then...BUT...HERE IT GOES! I grew up about 15 mins up the river from this Hospital but for last 38 yrs have been living about 2 hrs away in Schuylkill CO, PA.
I had a Choice of a few Hospitals but after visiting Dr Bavaria / Staff and Facilities the 1st time (which was actually the 2nd Hospital / Surgeon I consulted with) I knew I HAD TO LOOK NO MORE! Just as my Cardiologist stated a yr earlier "He is THE BEST IN HE WORLD" I soon started to see why? Instead of a 1 person (Surgeon) Consultaion consisting of only .5 Hr at my Local Hospital...You get TRIPLE TEAMED
by (1st) Nurse Practitioner, (2nd) Fellow Assistant Surgeon...AND...(3rd) Dr Bavaria! After the ONE AND A HALF HOUR Consultation...they really give a feeling of "WE GOT YOUR BACK" Confidence!!! THEY'RE THE BOMB!!! (THANKS GUYS/GALS)
Just as a few others have stated above...it starts with the Friendly Courteous Guard Staff outside around the Hospital, Everywhere else inside / around...right up to your Doctor's Office...That all familiar feeling of "THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE" (which somehow surprisingly through the decades has not lost that FEEL!) Contrary to what I've seen 1 or 2 other reviews say...This place is WELL ORGANIZED starting with my Phone Calls (from 2 hrs away), on through every Vist, Testing, through Surgery/Recovery...and on up to my 2nd and last Follow Up Visit!!! This Institution also follows a STRICT CLEANLINESS Routine!
My Surgery was a HUGE SUCCESS making me feel Better than before...AND...as I said to the Nurse Practioner at my Last Visit..."I will continue to go to my Local Doctors...BUT...If I have to go to the Hospital for something Half Way Serious... IT'LL BE DOWN THERE AT U. of P.

I went there for a job interview. This place was built massively. The buildings are state of art. The layout of signs to help patient navigation was very good. Staff are super nice at the reception. Of course my purpose of the visit is different from other people but I felt hope attending the place and the people I met seems very caring. They have a cyclotron for proton beam therapy for cancer which is one of the only few systems attached to the hospital. The physician team works very closely with the departments of science to innovate things.

My daughter was delivered here on 1/24/19.
One of the happiest moments in me and my fiancee life.
The staff was great and the hospital took really good care of my family. My daughter has now grew up into a lil lady like her Mommy. I'm forever grateful for the professionalism and kindness we were shown.
Thank you.🙏🏿

Best hospital! For any and everything! Great staff, knowledgeable doctors, nurses and etc! If I had to go anywhere for any medical reasons I would make the trip to this hospital only!

I am only leaving this review because I was shocked at so many bad ones.
Simply for reference point, I will say that I am a 38 year old Black woman with subpar health insurance, and I was still treated with exceptional care, on three separate occasions. I’ll try to make this brief:
• 1st was when Dr. Zager saved my life after an aneurysm ruptured in my brain. My trip to ER resulted in a bevy of neurologists coming in and out to test me, and consult with each other, throughout the evening. Once the root cause was determined, I was officially admitted and scheduled for surgery the following morning.
• 2nd was when I contracted an extreme case of meningitis less than 4 years after my brain surgery. Due to my previous history with them, I was fast tracked and given a spinal tap while still in the ER and admitted expeditiously.
• 3rd was for the birth of my child. Based off the exceptional treatment, thus far, I decided to transfer my prenatal with them as well. My OB, Dr. Ochs, was attentive, informative and even gave me her cell number in case of emergencies. They followed my birthing plan (natural, no IV fluids, etc.) down to providing a birthing ball during contractions.
Though, I’ve had nothing but great experiences at this hospital, I will take away one star for their horrible ER situation. You can be there anywhere between 5-8 hours before being seen, and even longer when taken to the back. Also, the admittance personal isn’t always professional or compassionate in light of the various degrees of human frailty surrounding them.
Even still, I trust them with my life, as they have, both saved my own and ushered in my child’s, miraculously.

I have been at this facility for a month now. They are taking such a good care of me here. There is nothing I can say bad about this facility. I traveled here from NJ because the hospital just couldn’t get the job done. The facility is clean, rooms cleaned daily. You yourself are kept clean and the medical staff work extremely hard to get you healthy again

When I first heard about this Hospital, I could just feel the friendliness as my parents and I walked through the front door for the first time back in the year 2012 where my dad had major surgery done. Let me tell you, the care that he received was awesome! Not only that they cared for him, they cared for us as well Carrie Ann the nurses, specialist, surgeons, and doctors we're so down to earth and yes, we felt right at home. We were even offered free meals because they knew our situation. If anybody is looking for a hospital that makes you feel right at home, University of Pennsylvania Hospital is the number one hospital that will definitely save your life and and also to continue living a wonderful life as well.

At the emergency department, I was a little skeptical about this hospital. I drove from Reading in search of a competent doctor that have faith in miracles to save my dad — the hopes are reading are nonexistent.
The first bump we encounter was the wait-time to get seen and admitted into a hospital. My dad seems like an stable patient for most people, but in reality he is having a lot of pain, and his time is getting shorter and shorter. While waiting, I had to help my father to get up the chair, so he can manage the pain he was feeling in his stomach. I hold him as he cried out his pain. This was a very hard thing to see without snapping for help. However, we managed to be patient and trust in the staff that was present.
Once my father was moved to an available ED's room, we encounter our second bump: the hospital's visitors policy. I had to leave my father and mother alone (two non-english speakers) and stay in a phone call to make sure their voice was correctly passed on to the medical professionals. As I slept in the parking lot, I trusted this hospital. The first doctor that gave an update on my father case said that she wasn't a surgeon or oncologist, but so far they do not think that he is a good candidate for surgery, and that there is no any options that seems promising. Our heart got heavier, however, we are still a believer and we still think that there is a way to increase my father lifetime.
During this sad time, our biggest supporter was Miss. Maria the nurse that was in charge of us. Everytime she entered the room, she made things brighter. She took care us and provided an excellent support. She tried to make us feel more comfortable and happy. We may not have a response to all of her comments, but the reality is that we love her and the way she treat us. Amazing human being and big shout-out to her. THANK YOU MARIA, you were our angel that night!
Tomorrow, we will listen to the surgeon. Is 1:18 AM and I am just thinking what if there is a small light. What if my father could enjoy a few more years with us. What if these surgeons give us good news Tomorrow. So far, I am thankful with the hospital as they keep trying and are not sending my father home to die, as other hospital already did. I don't have the ending of my story, but my mother, my siblings, and myself still believe... thank you Penn Medicine.

Th other day UPENN had this QR code in the sky, they definitely have all the technology at this hospital. Super cool way to market to people, It got me interested.

This hospital is amazing, definitely miracle workers and Gods hands.
My wife went in here with a 30% then a week later 0% chance of surviving 90 days. She went downhill fast, all organs failing, to getting bacteria in her blood to a medical induced coma.
The doctors were able to get her stable enough to perform surgery even though it was risky. It was either a risk or she do not make it back home.
She was listed twice for a transplant but due to other complications surgery could not be done. Finally she was stable enough in a 48hr window and they pulled the trigger.
Her surgery was a success, followed by a long road of recovery and rehab. She is finally home after being in the hospital 3 months. She's not fully recovered as dialysis is required but a breeze compared to being on a death bed.
The staff always treated me with respect and were always accommodating. COVID made visiting difficult but it was not really an issue.
If it wasn't for the surgeons who told me "we do this every day" "this is routine for us" she would not be here today.
I am grateful for their dedication and hard work.

Have been taking excellent care of a friend who was in really bad shape. I did not talk to any doctors, but the nurses seem very friendly and knowledgeable. View from the Silverstein Tower is amazing.

Came here from Jersey for a procedure for a family member. Everyone we encountered was kind, happy and helpful. Nurses were nice and helpful. Doctors were amazing.
Cafeteria was awesome, but very crowded.

There are some of the most caring and helpful nurses and doctors in the profession are located in this hospital! Seems like the pandemic has made things in the emergency room a lot smoother. People are seen faster and taken care in a more orderly fashion. At least that's what I noticed from my last visit. They were following the safety guidelines and taking all measures required to need everyone protected.

Friend had major surgery. Very organized and efficient. Everyone was very nice

Dr. Rassekh is the best doctor you can get down here. He listens attentively and explains things so you completely understand what's going on. Anna, and his staff take a personal interest in you, not your typical " Hi how are you"? They really care and take time to get to know you. The new hospital is amazing. So high-tech. The nurses treat you like family, and if you're lucky enough to get Sue from the 5th and 4th floors you will feel like your mom is taking care of you. Sue is just amazing! As for Dr. Rassekh, what more can I say about him, he saved my life. And I am forever grateful.

I am so grateful to all the doctors, midwives, NPs, nurses, lactation consultants, and support staff at HUP. I always felt everyone was looking out for me and my baby's best interest. They went above and beyond for us. After my delivery, when my baby was sent back to HUP by my pediatrician for bloodwork, they sent down a nurse to retrieve the bloodwork from the car and ran the labs STAT while we waited. I could not imagine walking around in the hospital after having just given birth! I was so relieved when they said they would send someone down. Thank you HUP for all you do!

Amazing staff of doctors, nurses, and receptionists to make my mom feel at ease and relaxed. Only complaint was the no valet parking for patients having procedures done. We had to go to another building for parking. Overall, great staff and experience.

Best place to be when you need tests and specialists. Wonderful staff and facilities.

This hospital is one of the best in the county and even in the world I guess for their superior quality of doctors, nurses and the overall management of the hospital! I had my open heart procedure here in HUP with on of their best doctors and after the surgery the recovery process was so nice and easy just because of the wonderful nurses and doctors on duty! I will always remain grateful for saving my life and taking care of me! They are truly amazing people with the best available skillset on the planet to save lives! Keep up the good work as always!

I was in ICU on 12/16/2020 for a cardiac issue. The nurses in ICU Founders 5, were wonderful, the doctors excellent. I transferred to Founders 11. Once again the nurses and doctors were wonderful. They took really good care of me.
I do have 2 major issues to discuss. ONe is procedure WAS NOT followed regarding my valuables. I left the hospital on 12/23 /2020 and my valuables are still in the safe. I've contacted Guest services numerous times regarding this issue and still not happy with the process or me having to drive back up to the hospital to pick up my valuables. They were rings they took off my fingers when I was in ICU.
The 2nd issue is an aide I had on Founder 11, her name is Kevaree.
From the first day she really was NOT wanting to work, she was in and out of the room as fast as possible, trying to make conc=versation with her was like pulling teeth. I did speak to the nurse I had and James was great he basically did his job and hers. The final straw was when @ 4 am she came in to do a procedure, left me totally exposed and freezing I asked to be covered up and did so myself, she removed the covers and I threw her out. She left the room and left my bed in the up position. I went to find a supervisor never did speak to one but my nurse Lauren did take over and did her job and Kevaree's job as well. I'm still waiting for a supervisor to review and contact me regarding this issue.
Thank you

My daughter had a baby here this morning and I can say that the nurses and doctors in the maternity ward are awesome. Very caring, great bedside manners and had a pleasant experience there. Mom and baby are doing well! High security measures taken seriously there. I would recommend any mom to be to plan and have their baby there!!

Excellent doctors, nurses & nurse’s assistants - no complaints there, but the hospital itself is filthy.
The room hasn’t been cleaned, there is trash on the floor & the bathroom is...ew! We asked for maintenance to be called because the sink is full of stinky water & the drain in shower is full of someone else’s hair. The cleaning person came & mopped about 2 feet of the entrance to the room, answered her cell phone & hasn’t been back since...that was 3 hrs ago.

Don’t not come to this hospital!! I REPEAT DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. They well treat you like a Queen/King. I spent 4 days here and honestly felt comfortable and relaxed. They kept a constant flow of things. I was told of my opinions, was very well medicated, feed very good food (considering it was diet and hospital). Staff is very well trained and educated. Not only was I taking care of so were my guest. They have a complimentary snack room. A place fit for a KING. THANKS again to Tara, Dona, Emily in the Rhoads department, The kitchen staff, the emergency unit, and the whole penn family. Keep up the good work.

I delivered my son November 10th, 2019. The nurses was very helpful especially the Doula they provided for me. Her name is Ally and she was amazing. She was a volunteering Doula and she helped me through the entire process until I have birth. She was patient and kind. She made sure I was breathing properly. She gave me words of encouragement through the pain. She made sure I was comfortable. I thank God I delivered my son safely and I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

I’m here right now and freaking love everything and everyone I’ve been in contact with, I could have died if I didn’t come here and now I’m ready for the gym. Never felt uninformed about anything peace and love Hup

I just spent a week here. Of course being in the hospital is never fun. But, the care I received was great. Everyone was attentive. Doctors and nurses were very kind and I felt confident in their care.

We are so blessed to have this hospital and the most brilliant doctors so close to home.

Top-notch world-class medical care. Doctors, nurses & staff were very compassionate and knowledgeable and the availability of cutting edge treatment is unmatched. The FOOD SERVICE IS HORRIBLE however. From late or completely missed meal delivery, to substitutions made without the patient's knowledge, to food service workers taking meal orders with no knowledge of dietary or food restrictions. There is no excuse for this in a world-class facility such as this.

My UPenn urologist is among the best and most dedicated doctors I’ve had the pleasure of seeing (and there have been a lot). Before my first kidney surgery I had to go to the ER the night before. It was insanely packed but since I had a scheduled surgery they ended up taking me right back. Great experience except for discharging me to go home 6 hours before I had to be back. Anesthesia/surgical staff commented on how absurd that was, and they were beyond great. Making sure I was comfortable and calm (not an easy task). Entire stay from arrival to discharge days later was the best I could have hoped for. Second time around, not so much. Everyone and everything was great up until my post surgical stay. The staff was rude, abrupt, and accused me of sneaking pain pills in and taking them without their knowledge. I was on a heavy dilaudid self press every 7-10 minutes. Plus the 100mcg fentanyl patch they put on me (my prescribed dose was 50), Xanax, muscle relaxers, nerve blockers, and ambien. There was clearly no need to sneak extra pills. Even with all of that I couldn’t sleep for 2 days. I ended up doing and saying a few things in that time that I’m still embarrassed of (once I learned I hadn’t dreamt them) but nothing really awful. They blamed my behavior on sneaking pills even when the psych and another doctor made it clear they were the ones at fault for pumping my 110lb body full of substances and thus my resulting behavior. They decided that after major kidney surgery they wouldn’t send me home with anything for the pain. My first surgery was less intense and I went home with oxycodone and 2 different strengths of oral dilaudid. They called my pain management, primary, and urological doctors and told them I had obviously been taking something extra than prescribed. Which made me look like a POS until my urine screens proved that wasn’t the case. If I ever need another surgery I will either ask for a different location or a different post surgical resident.

Came into the emergency room today with my sister and was please with the attitudes and service today. From the nurse Harley to the doctors who treated my sister. They was patient with her due to her pain she was difficult, but they still handled her with care. I will make sure I return to this hospital for any emergencies.

Glenda Tam, Nurse Practioner was outstanding as she was patient, compassionate, empathetic and knowledgeable. She effectively comminicated with us as a family, sharing our cincerns and advocating for my father's care during his stay at HUP.
She remained in constant communication with my sister Lisa for the duration of his stay. We need more medical professionals like Glenda!

I some how came to this site and read a lot if the comments. So here is mine. I've had liver surgery and now MS and I have to say I love the drs and surgeon I have. I like that ALL my information is in one place for all my Dr's to see.
When I had the liver surgery I was in for 5 days. For me I hated the aftermath of the pain etc. But the nurses were compassionate. But being my first time there no one said I had to order my meals. Almost went hungry one night because I couldn't eat.the tomato sauce and they had nothing else. Until a very nice nurse found me something to eat. I was very grateful since I wouldn't have eaten until 8-9 the next morning. If she only knew how happy I was I thanked her but didn't see her again. It the little things people do for you that mean the most!!!
But lastly had to go back to emergency room and had to wait FOREVER I was in tears waiting so long it was frigid last winter it was cold in there also. The nurse couldn't get the IV in I was poked so much while in the hospital and now it was so painful again. Ugh
It took FOREVER in the back at least I had a room to keep warm. But it was not a good experience hopefully if I ever have to go again it goes a little better. The Dr's were nice in emergency but I was there for 5 hours at least and it was a quiet night. Lol
I live in NJ but still remain at HUP and thank them for all the GOOD things they have done for me.

This is a great hospital with some very smart doctors and awesome technologies. Poking my way through stage 4 kidney cancer, they seem to either be a step ahead of the disease or ready to turn on a dime and hit it head on whether it goes to the bones or the brains. You know the foods pretty good at the hospital too with a really good staff and nurses.I feel lucky to be in this area of the country.

I want to say in general i had a good experience and recieved great care for the week and a half I was admitted to the hospital. The team on the colon rectal surgery unit was amazing. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful and difficult times of my life thus far. With that being said there was a nurse that stood out and will always be remembered by me(not for good reasons). I arrived at the ER around 6:30am 2/13/18 after being in excruciating pain for over 24hrs. Like most people i tried my best to cope with the pain assuming it would past. When i got to the ER i could barely walk. I was lethargic and vomiting. After meeting with the triage nurse i was asked to sit back out in the waiting area which i did. After about 20mins i started feeling extremely lightheaded. I knew something was going horribly wrong. I alerted the lady at the registration desk that i need help. I was scared. Nothing like this had ever happen. She seemed annoyed with me and called a nurse when i collapsed on the floor. Fully conscious and alert i could hear this nurse SCREAMING at me to get up off the floor. Said she would not help me if i stayed om the floor. Physically i could not get up. She chastised me over and over for not complyin with her demands. I felt helpess in a place where they are suppose to help you.
Eventually they put me in a wheel chair and took me to the back where they realized my temperature had reached 105. We later found out that i went into septic shock. After getting my vitals stable with the help of IV's i started to pull through. I sat in the hospital for 9 days replaying my experience in the emergency room. The lack of compassion confusing me. I have worked in healthcare administration for over 10 years so i know it can be a overwhelming experience, but you should consider a new career if you put your own frustrations before the needs of your patients. I dont know your name but i will always remember the way you made me feel.

I was well cared for. The staff were kind and knowledgeable. My treatment was top quality.

HUP saved my husband's life with their excellent and exceptional skills. Our local hospital was going to send him home , but we insisted on a transfer to Penn Medicine. Thank God for these hard working and dedicated professionals.
Pat W.Farris
When in the ER it takes 9hours for results. If I went to my own at 4am I would be out by 6am. I went to Jeanes ER hospital to be seen at 8pm and was out at 11pm. I have pain and couldn't breathe and they gave an asthma treatment and I felt better. !!!!!!!!!! I didn't get out of HUP ER until 8:30pm!!!!

I have to come into The Perelman Center once a week for labs since April. This morning 8/17/2020 I enter on the same floor that I've been on since April and I'm told I cannot wear my mask. The same type of mask since April. We are all being inconvenienced but the hospital seem to be making things worst. The young lady on the 1st floor elevators didn't know why I couldn't wear my mask that has a filter, that I can't breathe through and it fits in my face. I get to the lab and see all of these cloth mask no filter, some not even over the nose. Consistency not inconsistent will make this entire pandemic easier.

I was scared to death to come to the hospital so I nearly killed my self trying to treat myself at home. It wasn’t until Dr. Emily Clausen my pulmonologist &Jill her nurse, scared me more into living than dying!! True story. My son Jax and I came here for testing for my lung transplant and I thought I was doing better. Well it took one week for me to beg to get better. Dr. Clausen convinced me to get to the emergency room ASAP and Jax left me in the er crying his eyes out not knowing if he would ever see me again!!! I had no clue how deathly sick I was and still am. I’m here hopefully awaiting my new lungs but not without the support of of all the essential workers who put their lives up above all else every day and night!!! This is my family now and friends for a lifetime witch I love so dearly. And when I say they have been here for me lts like they can read my mind as to what is going to happen next. I believe with all my heart and soul I am where I need to be at this time in my life with the people who have chosen me to give me my miracle!! GOD BLESS YOU ONE AND EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, MY FAMILY!!!GODS SPEED ALL MY LOVE : Deborah L Fisher 12/15/1957 the young lady with the COLORFUL personality and small chest!!! If you are ill ,don't waist time at other hospitals. Go to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital ,Our experience there was Excellent ,treatment, diagnosis , and stay, Highly recommend this hospital and Doctors.

What can I possibly say about HUP (hospital at university Pennsylvania) that is strong enough to stress my deepest appreciation to this superior quality hospital. Ten years ago I came here for a triple bypass and they were totally professional and I was completely at ease because of the physician’s reputation along with the hospital rated so high. I was completely satisfied. Now ten years later I am in this hospital with another heart surgery replacement of my aortic valve and feel even more at ease because of the advancement of medication and medical treatment. This place oozes with courtesy and respect for each patient on each floor. Even the food service is top notch all the way. I see others do NOT share my opinions but no one not anything in this world is going to be perfect with every person. I am thankful to be able to come here for major surgeries and procedures.
UPDATE:
After writing my review I was in a quandary about HUP only having a 3.5 rating. I want everyone who reads my review and the others here think and decide using common scents and research as to use HUP! But consider one fact not indicated here and that is : 315 reviews here and HUP MUST TREAT THOUSANDS OF PATIENTS EVERY YEAR. THE RATIOS DO NOT TELL THE COMPLETE STORY. THINK, RESEARCH AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION.
Sheena Jackson
I have to give a major shout out to everyone from HUP for treating me so well. From the nurses to the custodians, everyone was extremely kind to me. In particular, I'd like to thank my surgeon Dr. Kristoffel Dumon for saving my life.

I had the best emergency room experience at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. Minimal paperwork, easy billing, no waiting and a friendly staff. I showed up on a Saturday at 11:00am with excruciating eye pain. I packed snacks and entertainment expecting to spend the entire day there. To my surprise they had a separate processing area for non-trauma victims, the fast track. A nurse saw me in less than 10 minutes and a doctor shortly after that. They had an optometrist who found scratches on my cornea and got me out the door fast. I highly recommend going here for medical attention on off hours. My entire experience was less than 1 hour and they handled everything I needed. HUGE UPS to U. Penn. Still going to Drexel for my follow up :p

I had my son here a few year back and every prenatal visit was great. My dr. Was amazing the staff was always nice except for like once or twice but u always tend to get people like that from time to time. When i went into labor the nurses would come in every 5 minutes to check on me and one nurse actually got an award right after i had my son which she totally deserved. On baby numver 2 and choosing to go back to penn.

My husband is having his prostate cancer treated at Penn. The staff and docs are always friendly and helpful. We never feel rushed. They go out of their way to accommodate us in scheduling spots and treatments. State of the art cancer treatment!!

This is by far the best hospital in the Philadelphia area hands down. The Nurses are exceptional. The medical providers really care. The facilities are state of the art.
Crystal West
I went to Helen O. Dickens for my prenatal care and they were great very thorough and efficient only thing I didn't like was the waiting. I had my daughter back in February the nurses were fantastic me and my little queen had royal treatment of which I'm very grateful.
DianeM Meibauer
My husband has been going to U Penn for at least, four years. He uses all testing departments and has five doctors in different departments. Three of those doctors have saved his life from various illnesses that the myriad of doctors here in NJ could not help him. Kept him on drugs, drugs, drugs. After his first surgical procedure, he went off some of these drugs and after the third, he was off ten drugs!! Ten drugs he does not take anymore because his medical issues were addressed and addressed correctly! We now go for check ups......check ups!!!!! Great doctors, great nurses, wonderful staff in all departments!! Thank you, U Penn!
G Reed
I am ever so grateful that I found a great doctor here at the hospital. I was diagnosed with RRMS and all the other doctor's I was seeing didn't seem as qualified as my neurologist. If there was a way for me to show him how thankful I am for him, I would. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Michael Jaconi
This hosptial was great. My wife was sick, the staff on the 14 th floor helps us thru their dedication to the patients. I was able to stay with my wife. We were treated with such care. Thank you to all the 14 floor nursing staff they are the best. Thank you!!!!
Gary Brazell
Great Hospital with great nurses and doctors. Went in with Covid Pneumonia. Kept me and my wife informed of everything they were doing.

Had a double lung transplant and was treated like a king!!!!!. The 1&1/2 hrs. travel from N.J. for follow up is worthwhile. The staff, nurses and doctors are excellent at meeting your needs.
Maciah Walker

Both times that my mother has been admitted to the ER at HUP she has had her cell phone stolen. This latest time we were able to track that it was taken to Wilmington DE. Then when we try to get in touch with her through the ER dept. it is extremely difficult because there are no phones in the rooms there.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the valet parking is a JOKE. Arrived at 530am with my husband for surgery and it was fine no issues no traffic. Saw the rates for valet parking and decided to move my car. Went down after my hubby was taken to OR and paid for my ticket. Stood outside for about 90 minutes and my car nowhere in sight. I am usually not one to complain but I asked one of the men what was taking so long is everything ok. He called someone who said my car had not even been moved from the lot yet?! I told him to never mind just leave it I will get it later. The supervisor I'm guessing was very apologetic and gave me 2 free parking passes which I am grateful for. I went back in to the window and got a refund and decided to walk to dunkin. By the time I get back THERES MY CAR SITTING IN THE VALET LINE! what the heck? I tell the guy I wanted it to be left in the lot since I will be here all day anyway no use moving it now! Sent the car back to the lot and sorted everything out with my ticket and I went on my way. I give the police woman out front a lot of credit helping the valet move somewhat smoothly. The cars were just coming in faster than they could move them.. if you aren't going to be here all day or just visiting DO NOT USE THE VALET unless you have over an hour to wait for your vehicle. Again I hate to complain but I was very upset and am still worried about my car.

Amazing care and just as equally wonderful on their hospitality, from security guards to receptionist to nurses & doctors, the helpfulness & politeness is impeccable, you don't see this too often these days, you all definitely set the bar high, keep up the good work, our society needs more of this, kudos to Penn Hospital!!
Rob Dirty
My mother had surgery here and had to have a section of her lung removed due to cancer. The nurses and doctors were so nice and took great care of my mother. They also removed all of the cancer in one surgery!!!

Had a terrible experience in the ER a few years back but since have received nothing but the best service here. They could use a make-over for sure! But the nurses, in particular, are wonderful.

Quite impressed by the magnitude and scope of the systems operations here in Pennsylvania. As a Resident myself I have recently started to take more NOTICE of my surroundings and question more. We are delighted to announce a new VENTURE and in the Progress being made in Medicine TODay. My mind is more attuned and receptive to reading. I feel more alert and prepared to respond to priorities and the DAIly requirements that existence demands of all of US. HUGO V - the Court Apartments. July 30, 2020.

I had a good experience in the E R but after that I was transferred to the observation dept. A dept. set up for 1 night observation. I was there for 6 got the same food every day my cell phone didn't work. I have Verizon I was told by a nurse that HUP had a deal with on of the other major providers and other cell phone providers were blocked. Not a very good feeling when you can't get in touch with family when you need them. The nurses were noisey and unattentive.

The first hospital of a medical school in America. Among the best of what it is and what it does and offers to the world. It cures the body and heals the soul as best as humanly possible. Here, miracles happen and wonders prevail. The past, present and future seek perfection here. I was trained here for what I professionally do now.

I can’t praise enough the superior skills of the staff of Silverstein 12. The nurses and assistants invested great effort to meet the special needs of our developmentally delayed son. Their compassion and skill in interpreting his language & behavior and in alleviating his fear were remarkable. In particular, Dan, MK, Sean, John, and Ivor were most kind. It is not surprising that HUP has achieved magnet status. Thank you all! Deb Boroughs

Located in a very built-up area with many modern and adjacent healthcare facilities. Staff are extremely cordial and well trained to assist clients in the friendly way. Many clients travel from outling region and are not familiar with the city area. It is comforting to have the customer service support, which UPenn affords.

(Translation) Attack cancer cells
At the age of 4, Nick Wilkins was diagnosed with leukemia (leukemia). And the cancer continued to recur despite the different treatment methods of doctors. When he was 14 years old, his father told him that doctors had tried chemotherapy, radiation, and even a bone marrow transplant from his sister. Let him tell you that there is no cure.
However, there is one treatment that could be tried: a treatment being tested at the University of Pennsylvania. When he asked him if he understood what the consequences would be if this method didn't work, Nick was stoic and replied that he understood he could die.
A few months later, Nick left his home in Virginia to go to Philadelphia and participate in the aforementioned pilot program. The new method of treatment was of course very different from the old methods he had experienced before.
Instead of attacking his cancer with toxic drugs like chemotherapy and radiation, doctors in Philadelphia taught Nick's own immune cells to have the power to kill the cancer.
Two months later, he was found to be cancer free. It's been six months since Nick (now 15) received the cell-teaching treatment, and doctors have been unable to find a single trace of leukemia in his body.
