Been here since 11am and we were confirmed to be admitted from the ER to a room around 3:20pm. It's now 8:20pm and I've asked to be discharged. Let's see how many hours that takes 🙃. Btw my second nurse (referred to as Drew by another nurse) was amazing! They were the only one to continuously check to make sure we were okay and even ordered food for us after we were told my son's eating time would be cut off at midnight as a precaution. Update: They finally got us a room ready by 9. Lauren is our nurse and she's the sweetest and brought us stuff to make it through an unexpected night at the hospital. Update 2: Once you get passed the emergency room the staff is seriously wonderful. They were so helpful and informative! The only reason I have to keep it at 3 stars is because an anxiety attack started to set in after being at the emergency room waiting for so long. I personally don't have good experiences with hospitals so it was a very intense moment that left me throwing up all night unable to hold anything down. But like I said all of our nurses and doctors were great with my son once we got past the ER and actually admitted.

Oklahoma Children’s hospital is an amazing place. I have had 2 brain surgery and my wisdom teeth pulled here and they always at great care of me and listen to what I have to say or what I want done for my care. I have only gone here as an adult. I love the fact they will help me even over the age of 18. I 100% recommend this hospital for complex kiddos and even young adults. Thank you OU Oklahoma Children’s Hospital for the great work you do in our community.

There are no words to describe the care my sweet nephew J’Shon received at this wonderful facility. Even after his passing they keep showing up for his family. ❤️ Thank you to each and everyone one who helped along this journey and after. I took my son here a week ago because I was concerned he might have appendices. It was a terribly long wait but well worth it. The staff took my concerns seriously & got to the bottom of the problem. He did have his appendix removed & they found a hernia that he will need to go back for. Thank you to all the staff, nurses, doctors, surgeons etc. We were able to come home later that evening. The next day my son was a little sore but no sharp pain or doubling over screaming in pain. Day two we did less ibprophren & tylenol & he is back to his normal kid energy & feeling 100% better. Day 3 NO medicine. I can honestly say this was the scariest time in my life as a mother when your kid is asking you if they are going to die because the pain was that intense, it shattered my heart into pieces but the staff did get his pain under control & gave him a teddy bear afterwards. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤ I am so happy to see him at his normal little boy self again wothout pain. I would definitely recommend this place if you have serious concerns regarding your child. This place is very clean with very caring & compassionate staff that will double & triple check going threw chain of command to make the best decision for your childs care. Hands down best place.🙌

It's a nice hospital and the staff is nice as well. But how come the NICU rooms do not have recliners or rocking chairs for moms. Especially breastfeeding moms. You really need that especially if you have to stay over night. NICU & PICU rooms should be set up as comfortable and homey as possible as your already there in a scary situation at the very least you should be comfortable.

My grandson spent over 2 weeks on the 6th floor in picu and we were treated like family. He was on the 8th floor for almost 10 days and although they were polite it was a noticeable difference between how we were treated before. We have a long journey ahead of us with his neurofibromatosis but I would definitely recommend children's hospital

My son had an outpatient surgery yesterday and we were told to be there by 115pm. He hadn't eaten since the night before but was doing awesome. After a 2 hour wait due to complications with the surgery beforehand he began to get a little weary. Laura came in with some sand art and really brightened up his day. He was finally rolled back with a smile on his face. Thank you OU and Laura!!!

My daughter has spent 2 moments of her life a week each time since I infancy and recently 24 hours for her appendix to be removed and the doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing.. thank you my daughter viviann thanks you all as well.. she is feeling much better now!

I would like to thank the the nurses and the staff who work at Oklahoma children hospital for taking care of my child. We found out she had type 1 diabetes. They are doing everything thing possible to help her out and accommodate us. They are very professional and caring. Especially the staff on the 10 floor. Thank you again for your great work and service.

Update: My son had a stone in his appendix causing alot of pain. Got referred to surgery and Dr. Puff was the one he saw she removed his appendix no problem, the nurses were AMAZING with him as was the child life specialist. They brought in a therapy dog to ease his fear and explained everything very satisfied with how he was taken care of.. I took my 5 year old here last night after a previous hospital in my area didn't wanna do anything for him. He was having right sided pain and vomiting children's saw that he was blocked and treated him for it. Never once did they act like there was nothing wrong they were kind and amazing the entire time we were there. My son had a bad experience with a nurse from a different hospital striking him and when he went to kick the nurses away last night they handled it amazingly they rolled him to his side and held his legs and just told him no sir and were great with him. I'll start making the trip up here when my son needs an er visit. Very satisfied even the nurses working the registration desk were wonderful.

My 12 yr old son was throwing up, diarrhea with severe cramping. His PC’s triage nurse called & suggested Children’s Hospital for ER visit. UNBELIEVABLY GRATEFUL FOR THE ENTIRE ER DOCTORS, NURSES, STAFF - EVERYONE!!! I have NEVER witnessed such compassion, commitment & due diligence from everyone under one roof, especially working under such pressure with the most recent surge in COVID outbreaks. They are understaffed, ICU beds full, ER waiting room filling up but, most of all, under appreciated!! Never once did I see or hear one staff complain, treat anyone disrespectful, rude or rush you etc. It was chaos with babies crying, kids moaning, dealing with the parents’ fear & stress, but you wouldn’t know it because of the respect they have for each other and unquestionably their commitment & patience . Great teamwork!! I will never go to another ER for my son until he ages out. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE & PASSION ALL WHILE RISKING YOUR OWN HEALTH & SAFETY. BLESS YOU ALL!! S. Dasovich

My daughter had been having random seizures so we were transferred to Children’s Hospital. The nurses were amazing! They were able to get an IV in my baby’s hand since she was only 2 months old at the time and they were prompt with all the tests that needed to be ran. My daughter has had very long hair since birth so the EEG glue stuff really got stuck in her hair and was hard to get out. My daughter had an MRI the next morning and the nurses brought her back to me afterwards sleeping and her hair was cleaned. I had been there with her for 4 days and 3 nights already, barely sleeping, barely eating anything, just so worried about her and everytime they took my daughter to do any kind of test, they always brought her back to me all bundled up and sleeping peacefully. They really are great with kids and I didn’t pack any extra clothes or toiletries but I had to stay there for awhile and the nurses brought fresh clothes and had toiletries for me to take a shower.

Took my daughter to see Dr. Puffinbarger in General Surgery in 2E for a hernia. Not only was her bedside manner wonderful, but she took my daughter to different patient rooms to let her pick which one she wanted to be in (one was Dalmatians, princesses, cars, The Incredibles) and I thought that that was so sweet. Her and her assistant(?) Stephanie made sure we knew exactly what to expect for her surgery. They made us feel a lot better. This was our first time going and I'm so impressed!

I had to go to Children's Hospital today to get a dvd of a MRI that I had, the lady at the desk her name was Johanna was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to help us and we are very grateful for her help. I wish there were alot more people like her. Thank you very much Johanna.

This is the best Children Hospital in OKlahoma state. Here in this hospital, two of my friends had thier kids. They were happy about the customer service they got. The staffs are very helpful. The doctors are very knowledgeable and qualified. The doctors are attentive to patients problem and give enough time to patients.

Was nice place to go for my grandson health. Staff was awesome. We had to stay in ER for a long time until we were move to 10th floor. I didn't like the new nurse training on him. It was already scarey.

I absolutely love this hospital my daughter spent three months in the NICU there after she was born she has had a couple surgeries there we just left she had double hip surgery and to fix her kneecaps and hamstrings the staff is super friendly as always in my opinion the best hospital ever! Every time we go they treat us like it's home. ❤

So thankful for all the wonderful staff and crew here at OU Children’s ER. Amazing, kind care and attention. Thankfully we have not had to visit often but when needed, I have always been pleased with our visit.

I have to start off to say that the staff, nurses, and doctors are so kind and gave us great care. They are so wonderful. Although anytime we have gone the wait times have been awful. Like many people have said, tou should just plan to have half your day there just due to waiting. There needs to be a better system for appointments and times, and allowing for things that come up that delay appointments. We have waited 2hrs at one appointments which I thought was a fluke and then the next time we waited 1.5hrs. The kind doctor apologized but there does need to be a better system for appointments or more staff needs to be hired.

All the doctors and nurses were great they made me feel so safe. I knew that if anything were to happen they were all on the same page about what I need they had great communication between themselves at every moment shift changes someone new checking on me it really made a huge difference for me to see that. They took into account all my preferences and really made this terrible situation a lot easier for me. I’ve never seen such great communication between a work staff and never felt so comfortable and trusting in their effectiveness and attention to detail.

Took my son here out of fear of carbon monoxide poisoning (long story) thankfully it wasn't. But this place is fantastic. They have valet parking for people like me who have never been here before or literally anyone else. When we got down to the emergency room it was packed but they prioritized my son and got him in right away. The nurses and doctors were so kind and understanding of our fears and why we were there even tho it just turned out to be a fever due to ear infection. Would recommend to anyone.

It's hard to give an accurate review of this place until you have a child have to visit here. My son unfortunately had to spend 2 weeks in the PICU due to a medical symptom. Overall, I can't say enough about how much I appreciate this place. I spent the entire duration here, never leaving. I saw it all. And I would recommend anyone I know to use this hospital.

Well mixed reviews we arrived at 130am, the desk checked us in quickly and very kind and helpful. We didn't get back to a room till around 330. The Dr and nurse were kind,and through as to what steps were going to take place. Registration was amazing. She made us feel very comfortable. Very quick process. The nurses station was a mess! Very cluttered and distressed. When shift change happened the nurses station became very loud. Heard a lot of conversations that children should not hear. We heard a lot of patient information being discussed. It seems the hospital could use an upgrade to allow for more privacy and a quiet place for patients to rest and be more comfortable.

All of the OU Health Science facilities are excellent. The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center is the hospital for all the citizens of the state of Oklahoma. You can come here and get the treatment you need, in a courteous and respectful manner. The doctors here take the time to make sure that they get it right, and that you fully understand what is going on at every step of the process.

Amazing care in the NICU! Every nurse and doctor we have spoken with has been extremely friendly and more than willing to discuss any and all concerns we have. The hospital itself is very clean, orderly, and secure. We spent some very difficult weeks here but I could not have asked for a better staff or environment. We were assured everyday that they were doing everything possible to provide the best care.

We drove 2 hours for my son's appointment. Hands down the BEST Children's Hospital we have EVER! Absoluty the most caring and kind hearted nurses and doctors we have seen. The moment we stepped in the building we had a nurse walk us to where we needed to go (because we were lost lol). The front desk receptionist was very warm welcoming. Our doctor was very thorough during our visit. It was 5pm and our nurse came in to our room with a smile just to say bye and have a great rest of our day.

One of the most attentive hospitals and designed for children to make them see beauty inside and out. They have computer control waiting areas to help bring a little calm into a wellness visit, to something more serious. So many special areas to help fill their minds with wonder and calm both the patents, the children and any family members that came along.

Wow! It was an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend this hospital. We took our son there with a possible broken leg (and a CT scan confirmed it). The emergency room experience was wonderful. They attended to him immediately. The dr's and nurses were great, compassionate, helpful, attentive. He had to be admitted for pain management while waiting for surgery on his leg. While admitted the nurses and assistants were wonderful. I can't say enough good things about how they cared for him. They were tender, compassionate, accommodating, and at his beck and call. From the moment he entered the ER until his discharge they were AMAZING! I would recommend this hospital to anyone who has children. Take them to Children's Hospital at OU!

My daughter is 8 and experienced a seizure recently, we took her to ER at Children's! Wow! They whipped into action, we were in a room within 90 seconds of coming into the door. We were treated with respect. Everyone was so nice and understanding. My wife was diagnosed with Preeclampsia 27 weeks into her pregnancy, and was transferred here where they worked wonders for both her and our child. They are very understanding and have a great staff who seem to genuinely care about their patients and their care. I couldn't have asked for a better, more supportive experience during this hard time of our lives.

It has improved a lot over the years. My child has had about 30 of his surgeries here. However, we are always getting calls that our Dr. Is no longer there and we'll have to be set up with new one which ends up taking even longer to be seen. So, very slow at getting an actual appointment. Usually can't get you in for 2-3 months! Love the volunteers and child life specialist!

Best hospital around! They provide excellent care! I had my baby here on 6/3/2020 I was induced due to me having hypertension and preemptive. Things went south after breaking my water so my nurses Sarah n Dillon were amazing. My daughters cord started wrapping around her throat Sarah put her hand between my daughters neck n the cord while several others rush me into an emergency c section. They got my baby out safe and sound! All amazing but thank God for Sarah I don’t know if my daughter would be here! Thank you all so much

WOW! These guys are fantastic. They where checking on my daughter very regularly. Wich, if you're are parent that means a ton. They do not mind you asking questions, because at Mercy hospital in Ardmore they seem to get annoyed when you start asking questions. It was a blessing having my daughter sent to OU. I am so greatful to the staff who are blessings from God all on there own.

I had my son at OU children’s six months ago and LOVED it. We were stationed at Ft. Sill and I chose to drive to OU Children’s for the quality of care they provide. The hospital was fantastic, the labor room was spacious and comfortable for my husband and I, and my nurses were great! The food is really good down in the cafeteria as well as the meals brought to the room! So glad we chose to drive to OKC! It was a great experience for having my first child!

My 16 yr old had a nasty fall from her bike and busted her elbow pretty bad. Never been to ER before so I didnt know what to expect. Scared for my daughters injury and her well being I didnt have much time to overthink where to take her. Staff was polite and very well knew what they were doing. I was still in shock so everything moved so fast. They stitched her up pretty quickly. And did an excellent job. My daughter and I are grateful for the care. So much I switched her PCP to OU adolescents!

The emergency room is hit or miss. I've had some awesome experiences there before, and then we've had a few really bad ones. My daughter had a newly placed chest port (where they surgically place a device under the skin in their chest to give shots), and it was VERY tender, and one of the nurses kept pressing on it REALLY HARD, which made her so terrified to have her port accessed, that she had anxiety attacks and would vomit as soon as it was mentioned, or whenever we got to the hospital, and that went on for over a year of chemo. With that out of the way, most of the nurses really care about the kids and want them to be comfortable and happy. My now 12 year old went for chemo for over a year, and still goes for MRI's every few months, and my newborn had a heart defect and was transferred there. They were REALLY great with her most of the time. I did have one really hateful woman that was extremely rude to me because I came in to see the baby once and she said I smelled like cigarette smoke. She basically implied that I must not love my baby very much, so there is always that one psycho that ruins it for everyone else. The rest of the staff were VERY Sweet to us, and helpful, and they were WONDERFUL With Allie. She's a happy healthy 6 month old now who is being weaned off of her heart meds, and doing fantastic! I also took my 12 year old for a tetanus shot after stepping on a rusty nail. They did a great job, they kept her calm, and they kept me calm as well. Over all, we have mostly positive experiences there, but just remember, there's always that one person who is going to try to ruin it. If you can ignore them, you're good to go.

Had all three of our children here and loved each experience. The staff are very knowledgable and hardworking, and the midwifery team is impeccable. We've also had to utilize the ER a couple times and aside from the expected ER wait, the service we've received has always been second to none. I've had many friends appear shocked when I've given them glowing reviews with some of them actually calling it a "welfare" hospital. It is absolutely not, I mean yes they take Medicaid but his place is a clean, world class medical center full of caring staff and they serve folks from every socio-economic background with smiles. Children's is our hospital.

Kelsey on the ICU floor is fantastic she works the later shift. She is extremely patient and very well rounded with her time and comfort for patients! She literally treated my two year old son as if he was her child! I couldn’t of been more satisfied with her I am completely surprised still. She allowed me to also sleep every time my son woke up in pain or discomfort. Kelsey truly has a big heart!! She is going to be a greater nurse in the future! and a great mother someday! I love OU children's hospital. Drs and nurses are angels! They treat you so wonderful. They took care of my son for 92 days in the NICU unit. Only weighing 1 lb 5 oz leaving now weighing 5lb 5 oz. The three nurse's that was there and made me feel better through them tough moments I will never forget. Kara Kelly...Pam..and charity. All the other nurse's are exceptional. But these three had him a lot..due to him being so critical. Bless all the people nurse's Drs..and front desk girls. Y'all are the best. Continue the great work. Y'all make such an impact on people's lives. 😊

Best care ever, one of our 3 yr old twin sons had a severe cut on arm/wrist, local ER Dr's and surgeon deemed it to much for them. They decided to let the experts at Childrens handle it. Arrived ER @ 11 pm, great professional staff, then sent to ped surgery. Team assembled at 1 am, during surgery were in family waiting room and were updated constantly (every15 minutes)on his status. He had major damage and needed lots of stitches. We are eternally thankful to the entire staff for everything they did to save his life and repair damages. I know we would have had dramitically different results elsewhere. We Thank the Lord daily for these skilled and caring medical professionals.

I cannot express with full appreciation or praise for the OU medical staff on the 5th and 7th floors. The were very professional but with a real touch of personal interest and care. Thank you Dr.Rensing, the Radiology department, Skylar and especially Targa. Even though the VCUG is a tough experience for kids, they tried to make our daughter and us as comfortable as possible. Compared to a previous experience in another state, the entire staff showed a lot attention and care to our daughter. Delivered my baby here. Over all I was very pleased. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I was only prescribed ibuprofen after delivery, and the pain from the stitches is very uncomfortable. I've asked My other mom friends and they were shocked this is all that was given to me when discharged. It sucks, I hurts to walk and it's been 5 days now. They probably do this to prevent addiction but it's really just making patients find the pain relief medication other ways. Hopefully someone on staff will read this and consider helping the patient more with pain.

I have used this hospital for my older children since we moved to Oklahoma in 2012. I had my prenatal care and birth of my youngest child here in June 2017. I didn't like that the prenatal diagnostic center only cared about a antibody that could cause baby to become anemic which could be a deadly. My first born was born at 28 wks, second passed away a house after birth from complications caused by my placenta abruption at 37 wks, and third born 37 wks stayed in NICU for 7 days after birth. I was on high risk for all pregnancies and I felt that these doctors weren taking it seriously. But they are supposed to be best in Oklahoma. Well my fourth was born at 37 was also and also stayed in NICU 7 days also. Other than just being nervous the whole time I was pregnant I loved these nurses and doctors

This hospital is so amazing! Our Maci had to stay here for about 11 days over Christmas break. Every nurse, Dr, surgeon, volunteer, etc. was so kind and professional. Everyone took the time to answer any questions or concerns we had and did not make us feel like we were being rushed. A HUGE thanks to the 9th floor PICU and the 10th floor nurses and Doctors for taking such great care of Maci! Kari, Tammy, Whitney, Milton, Abby, Matthew, Dr.Rooms, Dr.Ruiz, Dr.Kaneaster, Dr.Okereke and so many more, the compassion that was shown will forever be appreciated. Thank you!

The best place to take your child and find the results for their illness. Exploratory surgery found my 11year old son had his small intestine kinked like a water hose due to old overgrown scar tissue build up. A week in this Fabulous hospital and he's no longer doubled over puking blood. They saved my sons life twice. How great is that of a hospital and Dr.Letton and His gracious team. I have visited OU children's many different times over the years and I can't say enough good things about it my daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and every one of her surgeries have been a breeze from scheduling to post OP. The nurses though seriously do not get enough credit and every single one we have encountered has been amazing! My nephew was born prematurely and was flown to OU children's and I have to give credit to one of his nurses Misty who is just seriously amazing! Also Bridget and April! April walked us the entire way from the NICU to the Ronald McDonald house at Garrison tower (which is actually a pretty good walk) and made sure we were completely comfortable. Danielle who works the front desk of the Ronald McDonald house was an absolutely delight from getting us a room to helping in any way she can to make it feel more like home, can't say enough good things about her! ❤

In the adolescent center on the 5th floor Dr.Middleman is absolutely awful. She takes hours after the appointment time to actually see you. She takes forever and it happens every time I am up here. Currently I'm sitting in the waiting room because she is an hour behind, and now they want patients to be here 15 minutes early when the doctor herself is an hour or more late. It is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

My daughter worked with the urology team and everyone was excellent. This was starting at birth and she is now 19 years old. I now have a neice in the cardiac PICU after having her 3rd open heart surgery. Dr. Mir and surgeon Dr. Burkheart and his team have been extremely knowledgeable. We no longer need to travel out of state to be with her. It's exciting she is getting amazing care with this superior heart team.

My daughter was on the 9th floor CICU for 5 days after heart surgery, and the entire staff from the cardiologist and the surgeons to the AMAZING nurses were incredible. They treated us like family, and, more importantly, were very diligent with my daughter's recovery. They all worked so hard for us, and I am very thankful to have had them as a part of my daughter's life. I could not speak highly enough of them.

The absolute best hospital I could’ve gone to. Every nurse and every doctor was such an amazing help and made my stay not as bad. My daughter is currently there in the NICU and they are taking amazing care of her. I can’t thank OU Children’s Hospital enough for the quality of care that was provided to me and to my daughter, as well as the accommodations for my husband. The OB department was incredible in explaining things and listening to what I wanted and needed, and the NICU keeps us informed on every tiny detail. Also for hospital food, they did really well. Occasionally an item would be missing, but all I had to do was talk to them and it was fixed. My husband was also provided with a guest tray, 3x a day. He was able to order off the menu which was nice, not just a premade sandwich. They were really on top of roundings and being able to help manage my pain. And the nurses were always willing to bring me extra blankets, towels, hand towels, and all the apple juice I could drink. Thank you OU Children’s for the absolutely incredible care, and thank you for continuing to take care of my daughter while she’s getting the treatment she needs and deserves.
