Had a partial nephrectomy here 11/23/22 under my doctor Michael Stifelman. Had major complications due to no fault of my doctor but my body as I had 11x tumors removed that were large ended up spending a few days in the ICU than on a regular floor for monitoring. During my time in the ICU with getting blood transfusions and also with blood pressure issues the ICU nurses Mekedo, Rachel and Colleen were amazing and very caring always helped me. When I got transferred to the 9th floor for care before being discharged the nurses Kayla, Amanda, Jessica , Jennifer , Dean and Arlen. Always made sure I was comfortable and always took into account of my concerns. I used to see doctor stifelman when he was in New York I paid out of pocket to have the best insurance so I can have him as my surgeon. The food here was good but very plain which is to be expected. When moved to the 9th floor I had my own room which was fantastic for the amount of pain and issues I had during and after surgery.
Didn’t have any issues with this hospital the only thing negative per say was that once admitted to the 9th floor I was unable to have my fiancée and or mother in the room at the same time, Along with no one could stay with me overnight as have incredibly bad anxiety. the other thing was there was two people that came around taking blood pressure and I had asked them for help a few times as I was unable to bend or move normally or get out of bed and they just gave me an attitude and a problem. Overall I recommended this hospital .

The best birth experience anyone can have. I’ve had multiple care givers during my 3 day labor and 3 day after recovery; And I can tell you everyone there was so sweet and kind. Oh and I did not rip at all. I wish I can remember the doctor name but I love her. She made sure I was taken care. I pushed for 45 minutes and had a healthy beautiful boy.
God Bless the team there

Came with my fiance by ambulance this morning. No wait time thankfully which is amazing!! However they said that's not always common. We've been here 3 hours and took the actual doctor an hour to come in. Mind you he's in for lack of breathing and it was at a 82 when it should be over 94/95 at all times. They finally gave him oxygen and it went up over half an hour. A student came in and asked questions, then the doctor came in and asked the same questions. They seem to get you in. Make you wait. Then finally see you and rush you out as quickly as possibly. I will say they are all extremely pleasant and professional. It's about a 7/10 on cleanliness. There was urine on the bathroom toilet when I went to use it. Honestly the nurses run the hospital and if they had the ability to just write on a pad of paper a script they'd be better then any doctor. I'd say Morristown is the hospital to go to if your able to choose. They are all around a 10/10 In every area.

My 2 month old baby got rsv and was having a hard time breathing. I brought him to the emergency room here and upon arrival went straight to take his vitals. Within minutes we were already in a room and seen by a doctor. We were admitted for two days so they could provide respiratory support and monitor him. Every single staff member was extremely friendly and caring. I never felt worried or like the doctors weren’t listening. Hopefully we won’t have anymore hospital visits but if I ever need to go to the hospital for any reason I will be coming back here. I highly recommend coming here and especially if it is for your child.

My father recently did a bypass at this hospital. It turned out great doc. Feraz is an excellent surgeon and the nurses and staff are so helpful professional and friendly. James, Kathleen, Alexa and Tess made my father feel at home the whole time. 👍🏽 To all helpful staff thank you for caring. …

This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks my husband has been rushed to the ED & is in ICU. The doctors and especially the nurses are absolutely wonderful. They're very attentive & caring. I can't understand why the low rating. The billing dept is not a reason to give the hospital itself to get a bad rating!! Family has been here multiple times in the past 20 years & had nothing but excellent nurses & assistants!!

I recently spent two nights at Hackensack Meridian University Medical Center after having a knee replacement.
From Doctor William Baione, my wonderful surgeon, to all the staff at the hospital, the rehab department, the pre-op department, everyone was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. It was a very pleasant experience in all aspects. I am also walking all over and enjoying life again. Thank You!!

I have Covid-19 and my throat was inflamed and unable to talk, swallow or even breathe well. I went to the ER and in a matter of 6-7 hours of the treatments to take effect. I got my voice back and the ability to swallow , breathe good and eat again. I’m so thankful. Thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍 plus I was able to go home. I will be forever grateful to the team and Komal Patel my RN.
Lisa Fraga
Had a pleasant experience in the emergency room. My husband went in for bad pain in his neck and the nurses and doctors were so thorough in trying to get him out of pain. The nurses were extremely pleasant and professional.

I am updating my post because upon an initial problem, the way that was addressed was amazing and the people involved deserves to be recognized. Thank you Patient Experience and Guest Services. Thank you for your time and consideration. They really stopped to listen. 👍 …

I will always be grateful with this hospital for taking care of my mom from the MICU nurses and doctors rounding everyday to check up her status. God bless this hospital and their staff doing the best with love and care even if they are under staff. Thank you 5pw oncology staff for making my mom comfortable, making her laugh, being flexibility, and understanding. I would not be able to make this possible without your support on her recovery. We travel about an hour to visit her everyday and is worth it. Please do not Robert Wood Johnson in New brunswick.

This hospital refuses to even register my father for treatment in the ER and we were turned away and were refused medical treatment. my father has had high blood pressure for over a week and the left side of his body is numb and although they knew this they refused medical treatment. We asked them to see the hospitals policy at some time during his treatment for mask mandates. We explicitly said, “We will wear the mask, we just want to see the hospital policy.” We were first told that they January were not able to print the to which I responded that printing same was not required, an email would suffice. We were then told that they would not be able to provide the policy right then and there because the department that would be able to provide the policy was closed. I proceeded to explain that it was okay that the next day when they opened is fine, we will wait for the policy but in the mean time to please treat my father. (Whilst not refusing to wear the mask). The head nurse then said, “Well, we will not be providing the policy. We will not be doing that. So you can leave” I will be filing a lawsuit.
I left the above review on December 27, 2022. Today is January 3, 2023 and I want to leave an update. Richard Eddings II reached out to us and completely changed our experience. We returned to the hospital and the treatment was excellent. We are so thankful to the Patient Relations Department. That’s why I’m changing to 5 starts.

I always had a good experience here. I delivered three children here and never had any issues. The Doctors and nurses are hard working and still find time to be kind and explain what’s going on.

I gave birth to my son there on November 9th. With the care and consideration of the medical staff, she gave birth and was discharged in good health. Thank you. I want to thank kimberleigh, the RN who took care of me, among others. He checked on me every hour when I was suffering from pain and supported me. Please convey my greetings to her.

Can’t start putting into words how amazing this hospital is. The pediatric ER the nurses are so patient and the doctors are just amazing. The Children’s cancer institute is a great and can’t say enough.

Fantastic hospital for all neurological disorders, especially Parkinson’s, MS, TBI’s. All of the staff, nurses and doctors are extremely knowledgeable and kind and willing to answer any questions you may have, no matter how small or big or how many! The facility was spotless and everyone was following Covid protocols. I would highly recommend if looking for a good neurologist and/or neurosurgeon. Definitely worth the hour drive each way.

A gratitude from my father Oleg Lukashov (who had a kidney transplant surgery) and all our family to Michael Goldstein (Department Director and Surgeon ), Rosanna Luongo (Coordination Manager), Marlene Amoruso (Nurse) and to all the staff of the "Hackensack University Medical Center Transplant" for the great services provided during this procedure. Very personal attention from everyone and great accommodations in the hospital! Very thorough follow up during the post-operation period!

Wow can't get no sleep because I'm stuck in this hallway for over 20 hours it's to loud the Drs and nurses are very nice and understanding I just wish I could of went to holy name hospital I would of been had a room they are much faster the Drs took good care of me and the nurses to was very professional it's just my food arrived cold for breakfast in lunch I think this is the best hospital in jersey
Carmen Colon
The “above and beyond”professional and caring staff has been one of the highlights of our constant visits post transplant (husband’s kidney) We have continuously and routinely experienced superior health care services through the transplant team, and then some. It is a far cry from the occasionally insensitive and unprofessional treatment that we tolerated in New York, where we reside. HUMC has been a blessing to our family and we are so grateful.

I do not give 5 stars to anything unless it is truly amazing and perfect but this place is close. They saved my life three times now. The staff has been friendly each time. This most recent trip blessed me with nurses like Alex in telemetry, and Karly and Pasang in the St. John building. I was also blessed with aide such as Kya in St. John and Natalia in telemetry. I wish I wrote down the names of all the angels that took care of me.
This place is great

What an amazing ER. I mean in general ERs suck but this one worked better than many others I have seen. I had to go because I got smacked in the eye. They triaged me into the ‘fast track’. I was in and out in 2 hours… including waiting time. I got seen, diagnosed. And prescribed in a short amount of time. Makes me believe this is a top notch hospital running efficiently. If you need an ER I highly recommend Hackensack.
Melissa Budd
I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about this medical center. My son lacerated his forehead while we were on vacation and everyone from the triage nurse to the pediatric doctors were SO NICE and attentive and caring. I would highly recommend this hospital for pediatric care!
Lily Ayala
I am so very grateful for this amazing hospital and their staff. We traveled an hour and a half, but finally got the care and answers on my illness. Thank you so much, now I feel I am on the road to recovery.

I have nothing but good things to say about Hackensack University. My daughter Ashlee was in the hospital for 60 days. 48 of them she was in a Coma on the Critical Care floor. My daughter wasn't expected to live she was very very ill, she's 22 with terminal cancer and she was admitted with a pneumonia and septic. These doctors didn't ever give up on my daughter. She fought so hard and they got her though 60 days. My daughter's body shut down for 3 months straight these people keep her alive. This isn't a act of god these doctors are AMAZING they gave her and me more time with together. I'll never forget the staff. They became friends in my head during this hard time. They are very caring. 60+ days I've meet about 100+ workers and never really had an issue with anyone. They helped me get though this also, if it wasn't for some of the staff I don't know if I would be OK today. The case management on the CCU and ICU floor are very very nice people they are very caring women. Thank you for saving my daughters life.

Hackensack Hospital along with the John Theurer Cancer Center saved my life. After being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on July 20, 2017 in North Carolina as I was serving as a US Marine for MWCS-28. After 3 different hospitals in NC, being airlifted to UNC Chapel Hill I started getting treated. After remission I moved back home to Bergen county and waited 5+ months for my Bone Marrow Transplant. Finally on Jan 12th, 2018, I received my BMT. For the past two years now it has been a constant roller coaster. I finally got medically retired and now am just blessed to have my care team and to still be walking today.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I’m a Cancer Patient & Came here while visiting from out of state & ended up needing a blood transfusion. Every single person from security, to registration, housekeeping, every nurse and both Drs I seen were very friendly & compassionate. Nobody snarled at me for living life and traveling while in treatment. In fact they gave me so many recommendations of where to visit in the city. The ER was very busy but they ran the place efficiently! To think I almost didn’t come here specifically because of others ratings is a shame. If I lived in the area this would be my go to!!!

Labor and delivery is the best here. I am truly satisfied with everything and grateful with each doctor and nurse that work here. The staff here is very nice and professional, they care about you and many of them go above and beyond which made me feel more comfortable and happy about choosing this hospital for the deliver of my baby. When I first came Samatha from triage department took well care of me and helped me in every step. Also, explained everything which made me feel more comfortable. After the deliver of my baby, the nurse Jenny(RN in maternity department ) is super nice, very knowledgeable, and soft hand for injections. Never felt in pain or anything. Also, Johnna(PCA from maternity department) she is just amazing, she goes above and beyond, very patient and you can tell she loves what she do. I used to get happy when it was her shift, always trying to help and support at all times. Johnna is amazing!!!

Gave birth to my daughter at Hackensack. Great experience! I moved from NY and did not know which hospital to choose. So glad I chose this one. The medical staff here are excellent… A+!!! Great bedside manners. They are attentive and thorough. They went above and beyond to make me feel safe and comfortable. Also the food is delicious and you have so much to choose from. I mean tender steaks served with broccoli and mashed potatoes! This is NOT your ordinary bland and boring hospital food. You can’t go wrong when you choose Hackensack.
Alice Pellegrini
I am not sure why this place ratings is low, is a very good hospital and I received the best care possible. First time when I was hospitalized for a pregnancy complication, second time when I gave birth to my daughter and third time just recently for surgery. The nurses there are the best. They make you feel so comfortable and they are so helpful. A big shout-out to the nurses and doctors there!!!!

I was in a great deal of pain due to my catheter being blocked and it took at least an hour to see a doctor. The entire hour I was in absolute agony. My bladder expanded out to hold 4100cc's and once I had a new catheter put in, the pain began to relieve its self. Nevertheless I was just sitting there in pain for an hour.
When I asked my nurse what the hold up was it was all the unvaccinated people that got COVID. I have a very strong opinion about these people however I know that this won't be posted and I may be kicked off this program.

My father was a patient here on the oncology floor and the entire staff, nurses, doctors, PCTs everyone were so wonderful in taking excellent care of my Dad. The outstanding people I want to especially thank on the oncology floor in the Pavilion are RNs Juliana, Renee, and Emily. They are the most compassionate, professional and clinically competent health professionals my Dad and our entire family were so privileged to have taken care for my Dad. Because of them, my Dad had the best care a daughter who loves her Dad so much, could ever want for her father. I will always love especially these three incredible ladies, RN Juliana, RN Renee, and RN Emily for the lengths they went for my Dad and for our family. These three ladies are truly a blessing on this Earth.

They really took care of me. I had an emergency procedure and the doctors and medical staff were wonderful. They calmed my nerves and took great care of me. The food was REALLY GOOD too! They even serve steaks LOL! This hospital was clean as hell...even had the main cleaning manager come in and inspect the room to ensure it was to my liking. Wow. I couldn't believe it! I would say whoever answers the call-button needs to be a bit more astute and timely but other than that, it was a great experience for such a scary thing.
Mohammed Ali
Wow, just wow!!! The number 1 hospital in my opinion! What a service of all staff! They gave wonderful care to my dad. All the doctors spend a long time and listen to all your problems and concerns. They don't rush you whether you are in the ER or in inpatient care. I usually take my dad to St. Joseph. Compare this hospital with at. Joseph, it's like the day and night different. So my dad got admitted here for 5 days and I received calls after calls from all the doctors and nurses and keeping me updated and making me aware of things about my dad. My dad was admitted in at. Joseph a few times in the past and I never received any calls from them. May Almighty bless all the staff and this place!

My husband and I were impressed with the professionalism, efficiency and kindness with which the team at Hackensack Meridian Health administered the corona virus vaccination process recently. We had 8:00 a.m. appointments and the staff was ready, well organized. pleasant and patient with everyone I witnessed. The staff directed the long line of people with a smile and a clear, respectful response. They administered the shots in a professional way and kept track of the appropriate time each person waited after the shot. They paid particular attention to individuals whose personal circumstances required special care or extended wait time. We have every reason to feel we had been treated appropriately by professionals and are most appreciative!

I want to take a moment to thank Hackensack Meridian. My father was Diagnosed with Covid-19 being admitted on 12/26/21. He ended up being intubated on 12/29/21. This was a scary time for my family and I. However, Hackensack staff, from Social work to patient experience, to the nurses doctors and so on. I do understand the level of stress having to help with such critical patients as well as be there for the families. Hackensack medical staff not only helped my father be part of the 20% survival rate (what I was told from a staff member) but kept a positive attitude in regards to being able to keep my family and I level headed and positive. We are undeniably grateful. I would call so many times a day to get an update and would get a nurse when I could. I never pressured the situation because of the constant chaos. The nurses never made me feel like I bother them or even stressed from my million phone calls. On behalf of my family and I, we THANK YOU HACKENSACK MERIDIAN (4PW, 3PE, 4ST. John). He is continuing to recover as his physical therapy starts in a few days and we are so pleased with the service and unconditional love during treatment not only for my family and I but mostly for my father!

I had an unfortunate situation last weekend and ended up at the hospital.. all the nurses were on point very polite and willing to assist me with anything I needed.. I don't want to end up here again but if I do I know I'll be taking care of!!

My mother in law was in here for 8 days. She was diagnosed with covid and pneumonia. From the moment she arrived into the emergency room she was met with kind, caring, and attentive staff all ready and willing to help her in any way they could. The staff made her comfortable, answered her questions, and accommodated her every single day with multiple requests. I truly believe that if she was not admitted to Hackensack, I might not be writing this review. Thank you Hackensack staff, you guys are A++!

Best hospital ever! Love the doctors 💞💞 love the staff. I 100% recommend this hospital. Everyone is friendly and professional. The hospital is clean the room was very clean room. The nurses, the doctors , the kitchen I have a very nice experience compare to other hospital. …

Everything was run very smoothly for my vaccine. I showed up for my appointment, stood in line for about 5 minutes, was checked in, stood in another line for less than 5 minutes, was taken into the treatment area, asked a few questions, and given the injection. The same process took place about 3 weeks later, and I was given the second injection. All in all, I was grateful to get the vaccination, and the entire process was excellent.
M T
Absolutely the most organized process. Paid for 2 hours of parking. They owe 1-1/2 hours
Yep - the entire visit took less than 30 minutes,15 minutes was for the after vaccination watch period.
Very nice staff from the security at the entrance to the young lady that directed me to the ladies room on my way out of the hospital. Parking was just up the block. Probably less than a 3 minute walk.
Had both shots, no side effects. Not even a stiff arm like you might get with a flu shot.
Lucia Mac
The hospital was well organized, all the workers, nurses were courteous, kind. I was so impressed with the whole experience. Here I am, want to to take this opportunity to thank all the people work there to make this trip to get vaccine so easy and comfortable. Than you and God bless you all!
Matt Pritikin
Women and Children's hospital specifically...My wife and I just gave birth to our first child earlier this week and we both feel we needed to show them the love they gave us while we were in their care. Truly top notch nurses/doctors. They work their butts off, always with a smile on their face, always "what else can we help with" and the job certainly isn't easy. I've always respected nurses, but after this experience, an even greater admiration for what they do. Thank you ladies, you made our experience there much more manageable. Special shout out to Nurse Sam & Nurse Posi!
Ann Zielinski
Everyone processing the vaccinations was very nice and helpful. However, on my first visit I stood/walked in a maze. I received my vaccination 1 1/2 hours after my scheduled appointment time. For my second vaccination I stood in the wind with pollen blowing causing allergy problems. There was no close parking and I couldn't hear the announcements from where my car was parked. SO I STOOD AND WALKED UNTIL I RECEIVED MY VACCINE 3 HOURS AFTER MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. I AM NEARLY 80 YEARS OLD. The organization was poor. However, I am very thankful that I am vaccinated.

Excellent medical center. Clean, attentive staff and wait get this, great food! Yes tasty food, at a hospital yet! I waited to order lunch even though I’d been given my check-out papers 2 hours prior, lol. In other news, one of the best hospitals around. 👏🏼👏🏼 …
Frank Filippelli
Hackensack Medical Center is by far one of the best hospitals you'll ever go to. Clean, Organized, and reasonably fast for a hospital. A state of the art facility with all around good attentive service.

My care when walking in to the ER was fabulous, however after the Dr came in explained my CAT Scan appeared to be normal and that I was going to be discharged at 1:40 pm, to them having additional tests run and being told I was being admitted without given the reason until I requested to speak with a Dr to explain why. At 10:30 pm an MD and his team came in gave explanation and reviewed my labs with me.
I was also placed on a broken stretcher, having to keep the side rail up by supporting it with my knee, as I needed it to position my arm properly for my IV to run. As the nurse went to grab it to move me from the hall in to a room, I explained this to her, when I got in to the room the rail was suddenly working, which I found was being held up by a blue tourniquet ( which I have a photograph of ). I requested a new stretcher a few times before it was exchanged, at midnight, nearly in years from being so uncomfortable.
As I finally settled down and was comfortable after 12 hours on the broken stretcher and 20 minutes if sleep, I was awoken at 12:45 am, 12 hours after arriving to be registered. In the past 12 hours I had been unavailable for all of maybe 1 1/2 hours, I found that to be neglect on admissions part.
I will say after my transfer to 3 North, my experience was a complete turn around. The Nurses and Doctor's were very gracious in answering my questions, and assisting me when needed. They gave me top-shelf care and I was fortunate to have such kind and caring nurses.
I am a nurse and have worked in a hospital in the past. I do understand that the ER can be crazy at times, but to put a patient at risk of falling off a broken stretcher (I came in with what was determined to be an eye stroke, fortunately I was conscious and with my faculties in place to keep that rail up with my knee), could have become a very terrible situation very quickly with a confused or combative patient.
I did notify this to two people prior to my discharge, showing the photo of the stretcher I speak if.
Rafael M
Top hospital everyone that works here are so kind and have a smile in the face willing to help you in anything! They treated my mom like family, God bless health care team!

This Hospital appreciates and helps patients. If you don't know where your doctor's office is located the front desk will send someone to guide you. Or,people will ask if you need any help. For a busy Hospital they are usually on time, nice waiting area and have a great nursing and doctor's staff. Also,9b the main floor there is a quiet room for peace and meditation.

I LOVE this hospital. I was born in it in 1982. I've been a patient in the ER a few times and admitted twice there. My cousin is a RN there, in the NICU, my Godmother died there from her cancer, but thanks to them doing their job she got a 2nd opinion n they found the cancer n were blown away how Valley Hospital said it was back pain...no more like c a ncer all through her body but they caught 9 n we had more time with her because of how well they took care of her. My grandma was admitted there almost 2 years ago n was admitted within 30min of arriving. N it where they found cancer ran more test to be told it had spread so far n everywhere that chemo wouldn't help it would have killed her sooner, the stem nurses on her floor were amazing n took such great care of my grandma. They were great with us as well and set her up with hospice so she could go home, they said weeks maybe a few months, but she held on for 8 months like I literally asked her if she was messing with me lol but then overnight she did a 360 n passed 2 weeks later in her sleep at her mom of 55 years surrounded by us. So I wanr to thank the oncology drs, nurses and all drs n nurses there, thanks to them finding her cancer she lived longer then even hospice expected. THANK U ALL FOR WHAT U DO FOR EVERY PATIENT AND THEIR FAMILIES!
Lou DeLisio
The nurses and aides were most attentive following my serious bilateral quad tendon surgery. They were patient and always willing to insure I had everything I needed to be as comfortable as possible. My surgeon was a seasoned professional and prepared me for the procedure and follow-up to surgery in a straight forward but compassionate manner. Overall, a difficult time for me was made as pleasant as possible by a team with an obvious concern for the safety and comfort of the patient.
Lisa Patten
As a Registered Nurse with a chronic illness I received one of the best care ever. At the infusion center everyone seemed genuinely caring and empathetic. Not only the primary nurses who took care of me (Kim, Carmen and please forgive me I forgot the name of the nurse who took care of me on the 2nd week) were attentive but the entire staff. The staff made sure I was comfortable and my needs were met. Also, everyone that attended to me sanitized their hands. Very important!
Update: My second time being there and my opinion has not changed. The care is fantastic. Because I was there before my needs were already anticipated. The entire staff is wonderful. And yes, they consistently sanitized their hands.
Diana Peraino
Both appointments went very well. First visit (late Feb) was a bit chilly outside in the line but it moved quickly. Second visit (mid-March) was better organized with them letting specific appointment times in at the appropriate time.
All the staff were great - friendly and moving everyone along.
A well run vaccination site.

We were admitted to the hospital in July 2020 and the experience was very beautiful. It’s COVID 19 time but still the doctors and nurses were very supportive. All the professionals created a safe and reliable environment. We were blessed with a baby boy and had the best of services in the hospital. I highly recommend this hospital.
Frank Addicks
It was extremely well organized. Everyone was aware of their duties and kept the patients moving from registration to the 15 minute waiting period. All the patients I saw were also aware of how smooth the process was and had smiles on their faces. The whole process took 35 minutes!
Donna Pacosa
The first time through for my daughters & my vaccine rather smoothly. And we had NO side effects. We both are high risk heart related & my daughter has asthma. Once we got to the vaccine area it went very quickly. Our 2nd vaccine at the same place E. Rutherford, NJ went even smoother. Everyone was nice from start to end! 👍 …

This place has completely dominated Hackensack and is huge. The name also keeps getting longer. There are a lot of good doctors here and amazing nurses. They got me and my family through very many hard times.
Shawn Wiggan
I can honestly say this is the best hospital I've ever been to; the doctors and nurses were very consistent, professional, great bedside manners. I could not tell the difference when a nurse change shift because the new nurse would pick up right where the previous nurse left off. It was quite obvious how well the staff worked as a team, and made their patients feel as comfortable as possible. The doctors explained their plan of treatment clearly so you could understand, and they were fantastic listeners as well. I would recommend this hospital to anyone, especially individuals that need an organ transplant.
Olga Iris Perez
Although, I was asked to return for further review of my yearly mammogram it was a pleasant visit. I was checked in promptly and the radiologist took several views and I had an ultrasound done. The doctor reviewed everything advising everything was great and I was relieved. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.

Both times my wife and I went for our Covid-19 shots our experience was completely 100 percent satisfying. Everything was well organized and all personnel were very polite and respectful to us. Great job. I only hope it gets rid of this virus so we can live our lives normal again.
Emma Mamayeva
We had 2 shots of Pfizer's vaccine.
This facility was great. Whole prosses was very good organized. The people who is working there were very polite and professional. Both times we were very satisfied with everything. Thank you All.

I had both my shots at the Meadowlands race track and can't say enough how professional the staff was, and the only other comparison I could make is when I go to get my Marathon Number for the NYC Marathon the excitement I feel from everyone involved is the same.
When dealing with that kind of volume it's got to be hard, but I felt very fortunate to have picked that place to receive my vaccine.
The staff was friendly and sincere when offering help to me and my wife. Everyone seem to pitch in from the top down and it showed in the way that we were treated.
I appreciate it so much! Thank you Hackensack Meridian

I received both vaccines at the Meadowlands, one in the late afternoon and the second at 9:30 in the morning. At both times, there was a line and both times, the line moved quickly. The personnel were helpful, courteous and seemed very experienced. I never felt either injection. We were in and out of the facility in less than an hour. Thank you

My overall experience at Hackensack Hospital was excellent. Loved my doctor, nurses, technicians and staff. They were courteous, efficient and never had to wait unusual amount of time for testing. Doctors spent time with you and explained procedures thoroughly. Everyone emphasized how important cleanliness was and avoiding infection. This was very important to me since my last surgery resulted in sepsis. I would definitely recommend this hospital. It was an hour from my home but well worth it.
Betsy Thornton
The entire experience of receiving both doses of the vaccine was wonderful. Everyone was upbeat and friendly which helped ease so much of the anxiety we all feel during this pandemic. The whole process was seamless and organized. Very grateful!

The Physical therapist who treated me is highly knowledgeable and professional. I trust her and how she understands my issues and functional concerns. She addresses my questions and this is extremely important. Her personal interaction is friendly, thoughtful and professional. Also this department is well trained. They are astute about addressing the COVID guidelines which is encouraging while you’re having therapy.

A vaccination appointment was easy to obtain. It was impossible to get an appointment elsewhere in NJ even though I am 73 years old. The actual vaccinations went flawlessly. The staff was courteous and efficient. I wish all of the other NJ vaccination sites were as good. Because of our recommendation, several of our friends got vaccinated at this site.

I would like to give this hospital 5 stars but I simply can’t. I was there with my daughter and the nurses in pediatrics were awesome. Ella, Linda and Christie were especially awesome (they get 5 stars!!!) I loved the Nurse assistants. Kim was soooooo great. Stacy was awesome as was Norman. They deserve 5 stars too. The food there was good and the kitchen staff is all great. 5 star service. It’s very clean. Environmental services was awesome. They kept the room clean and were very friendly and personable. However, I don’t feel like the doctors would listen to me as a mother about what was wrong. They assumed what they wanted and dismissed what I said and my observations. I had high expectations for this hospital and it came up short.
Chris Schlegel
When I had my vaccines at the Meadowlands I was beyond impressed at how well run everything was. Despite the fact that there were many people there the line moved along and I was in and out in no time. Everyone there was courteous, kind, helpful and very efficient. I couldn’t have been happier! Now everyone go out and get vaccinated!

Thanks DrJesse Allert, nurses and all staff who took care of me during the past 3 days after a tibia fracture surgery. Everybody was kind, professional proving an excellent service.
Thanks again

My main issue was that I was told my mother would be sent to a facility of our choice. They told us that both places we picked weren't available so they had suggested a third. The case worker said she'd be back with information about her transport and I had not heard a thing even asking the nurse to contact her twice. The next day I get told she's being discharged within 2 hours and sent to a rehab place that has a bad reputation. The caseworker said I'd have to appeal it and pay for the expenses if we lost, doesn't seem fair when no one in my family agreed to it.
We had some lovely nurses but doctors weren't too responsive where other workers made complaints.

All the staff members that helped me here (Alex D., Sharise, Ingrid, Tory, Nurse Kim, Melissa, and Nurse Fern) were exceptional ! They helped me out of a very difficult situation, and I am so grateful for them. There were other staff members that did great but I can’t remember their names. Overall, the best hospital in Bergen County!

We arrived for our first vaccine on the last snow blizzard of the year. Needless to say, the wait time was over an hour and a half. Did everyone with appointments between 8 and 10 show up at the same time to avoid the storm?
However, I give the HMMC five stars for the second visit that lasted less than a half hour.
The medical personnel on both visits were top notch in their services.

I was able to get a Vaccine appointment at the Meadowlands through the Hackensack Meridian System. From the time I parked to the exit for the vaccine it was less that 45 minutes. Everyone that I had any contact with was so nice. It was so efficient and run so well. This is the first time I have used HM and was very impressed how the staff treated their patients in a trying time. Thank you to everyone involved in the vaccine roll out.

I had outpatient surgery at Hackensack hospital almost a year ago. Everything went incredibly smooth form the moment I checked in to the last minute of my stay. Nurses were very sweet and caring, nobody rushed me and I had everything I needed. I made sure that my insurance was in network with the hospital in advance and I never received any addition bills form the hospital. I would absolutely go there again in case I need help.

This review is for the staff in the triage labor & delivery department. I went in for a procedure and they made me feel comfortable throughout the whole time. Particularly my RN Stephanie, she is what every nurse should strive to be like. What an angel she is! Thank you so much for being so patient and genuinely caring.

Gave birth to my premature son at 30 weeks. I have mixed feelings. To the staff that helped me during labor, I rate 5 stars, they were so kind and helpful, giving me instructions and care at a terrifying moment of my life. The doctor I gave 4 stars, because after I naturally pushed out my baby and I was completely exhausted in a whirlwind of emotions, she asked if she could cut my perineal to remove placenta. I simply shook my head, not really understanding what she asked. I suffered unnecessary recovery that could have easily been avoided. Now on to the not so great....the nurse that provided my after care. She never asked if I needed anything, never came to collect the breast milk and bring to my baby in the NICU, I hadn't showered in almost two days as I had trouble walking, and I never received any kind of assistance in this either. I felt abandoned and didn't realize I could request certain necessities as it was my first baby and I was alone due to a snowstorm. NICU was a mixed bag, I had terrible rude nurses, one that almost shook my baby, and others were amazing. All in all my son thrived and I'm grateful for that, but I may try a different hospital next time.
Nancy Stek
It was one of the best medical experiences I have had in a long time. Well coordinated, well run and managed and very easily navigated. Everyone was welcoming, pleasant, polite and a pleasure to deal with. I felt very comfortable and felt cared for. Thank you all!
Arlene Corcoran
I had surgery October 23,2017 I was extremely pleased with my stay and care given. The Drs. were very caring kind and explained exactly what procedure they were going to perform.
The after care with the nurses and aids were also very caring and I was extremely satisfied. They were all very caring, patient and courteous . I would absolutely tell anyone about my care before during and after the surgery
Rocky Jones
Most of the experience at HH has been positive. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The one negative is overbooking at the chemo facility. There should be a stricter schedule for the patients. I had to wait close to an hour on one visit to get treatment. On another occasion I had to wait although it was a short wait going through chemo is stressful enough. Patients should never have to wait to get the treatment. I’m sure there is a way to get this aspect to fixed. I believe it is very important to get this running smoothly.
MARIE DELROSSO
I went to the hospital to have an ultrasound of my right leg due to swelling and to confirm not a blood clot issue. The staff was very helpful when calling to arrange the testing the young lady roxhana was very gentle and compassionate throughout the test process from preparing my leg, running the test and helping me to get myself cleaned up and dressed. It was a pleasant experience even given the seriousness of the test. I would recommend this team to friends and family should they require this type of test in the future.
John Salazar
Great hospital...great services... they understood the assignments... I entered this place in pieces and left feeling great 👍 😌 🙌 ☺ 🤗 …
Prabhat Mohapatra
I had a excellent experience while I was there for vaccine. The doctors, nurses and all people involved in process are amazing, very courteous and friendly. Made me very comfortable and happy. Cheers!
Phuong Le
My wife recently gave labor here and I was want to leave my review for those interested in going here for labor and delivery. The nurses were really attentive to my newborn and her of course. They were all super nice and I love that about them because after working a 12-15hrs shift you would think otherwise but they're all super nice to us. Only giving 4 stars because to order food, you would need to wait a good 15-20 mins to order food and another 45-1hr to get the food, and when you do get the food it's all warm and dry.
Janet Hascup
I had to do radiation for 20 days. I can’t say enough about the team of people who took care of me. They were fantastic, friendly and professional!! Hope I never need radiation again but if I do I hope these people are there to help me again. Thank you for making the experience bearable!
Ellen Burleigh
I went to Hackensack hospital for total hip replacement surgery in December 2018 and I felt like I was staying at a resort. The level of care is outstanding , starting in the surgery admitting suite and ending in discharge process. Professional, friendly and helpful staff always available to help. Food service and quality were amazing. They use color-coding of their uniforms to help you know the difference between nurse, NA, or other workers. They use whiteboard in your room to communicate during your stay with names of your caregivers on every shift. Physical therapists are upbeat and positive. This hospital has assembled a team of extraordinarily professional orthopedic caregivers and they should be proud. I would go back there in a second.
TRINA WILLIAMSON
The staff was super caring and attentive to my needs. They made it all about me which it should've been considering I was having surgery. They explained things when I didn't understand, and they did the follow up call to check on me the day after. Even the surgeon called to check in with me a few days after surgery to answer any questions I had as well as go over post OP instructions.

Jasmine is the best, along with Kate and Katie. I am so glad my employer
has stayed with the Corporate Wellness Center in my 10 years on the
job. The staff remains cordial and positive during times of extraordinary
stress on them ! A real ray of light in these challenging times.
Sincerely,

I have received great services. From the moment I entered the hospital with my 20 days old infant, every single person in the hospital provided highly professional and greatly positive services. My son, my husband and I received very efficient treatment and discharged with great pleasure. I thank to very single professional at Hackensack University. I also gave birth at the same hospital. Before delivery I heard great things about the hospital but the services that I received was unforgettable and amazing. I felt myself having a vacation at 5 star hotel rather than hospital. The doctors, nurses and every single person in the hospital were highly professional and also had great attitudes which felt me more comfortable than my own home. You basically need no attendant or nothing to delivery at Hackensack hospital rather than yourself and they will take care of the rest :)
Kevin Mccaffrey
Friendly and courteous without sacrificing professionalism. All safety protocol followed. All of this allowed for a very stressful time to be much more tolerable. Felt as if they really cared and were interested. The hospital staff and particularly Dr. Rizk and especially his staff should be commended
Erica Basile
My experience at the Meadowlands Mega Site for both of my Covid vaccines was amazing. The entire operation from beginning to end was run like a well oiled machine! The staff were kind, professional, very helpful and patient! They made what could have been a bad experience a more enjoyable experience. Thank you again to all that have worked long tired hours for the rest of us to keep us safe🙏
Erica Ainsworth Da Silva
Just had my first baby here! The staff was amazing and super attentive. They left me and my husband super confident leaving the hospital. Loved all of the nurses during our stay and my doc that delivered, Dr. SEIDNER! The room service was great too. Highly recommend!!! :)
Born Dead Clothing
Patrick H Charles, DO is the best! Super patient and kind. I felt like I was in really great care. Very thorough in their work at the ER. Can't thank them enough!
C Tumminello
The process was well organized resulting with me getting my second vaccine within 45 minutes. Every one involved were very professional and caring. Thank you for making this a good experience.
douglas greeley
The hospital was scrupulously clean, COVID screening done on entry, fast turn around of test results, the nursing and household staff very professional and personable, and the catering staff were very accommodating. The medical team is top notch. I was given outstanding care at all times.
Tiffany Martinez
Mother baby unit is amazing. The staff are wonderful. They take care of your every need in such a nice and caring way. I will definitely have my next baby there and also recommended everyone to this hospital. I've never had an experience like the one I had there. Also the food is amazing!!!!
Thank you for making my stay there so amazing and for taking such good care of my baby and me.

After 1 month of having double knee replacement surgery, I fell down a flight of stairs and broke my right femur. I was taking to Hackensack University Medical Center. They were the utmost professionals! From the moment I entered the ER, the staff was very caring, compassionate and kind. They saw the incredible pain I was in and did everything to make me comfortable. I highly recommend this hospital..
Jamila
I recently was a patient here and I must say my stay here was very comfortable and although I cannot remember everyone's name I did remember Geraldine she was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions i asked her even when I was in extreme pain. Which brings me to Dr Alvarez he is an accreta specialist hes nothing short of amazing he was able to speak to me and make me feel comfortable going into surgery. Especially how chaotic it was and with all the complications. I'm just happy I made it , my son is here and healthy as well. I'm really blessed to have met this amazing doctor.
Sarah Ciocher
My review is based off of my experience post-op for bariatric surgery. I dealt with some amazing staff in that wing and they were encouraging and caring as I started recovering from surgery. Nurse Melissa was such an angel and made sure I was doing well during the entirety of her shift. Everyone was helpful during my progress towards going home and getting me out of the hospital with care instructions and my next steps. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff that helped me on this journey.
Carol Castro
When I received my first and second vaccine recently at The Meadowlands, I was extremely impressed with the entire process from start to finish. Although a tremendous amount of people were in attendance to receive their vaccines, everything ran smoothly. It was so well organized. All personnel were professional, efficient, courteous and friendly.
Thank you, Hackensack Meridian for an important job well done!
Tina Struss
They have the vaccine site flowing like a well oiled machine...it is the people who show up 3 hours early for their appointments which create the long lines outside. I Thank Everyone who has volunteered their time to work at these vaccine mega sites, and I thank the service men and women making sure things run smoothly.
Thank You
Anne Deatly
I was a little worried going to a hospital during the pandemic but I needed surgery because I broke my right wrist. So I had to take the risk. There was safe distancing everywhere, .Except for the surgery, no one really came close to me. All the people that prepped me for the surgery were over the top kind and considerate and understanding of what I was feeling knowing I was having surgery. I was very impressed! I highly recommend Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack Medical Center,.
Barb Clark
I went to Hackensack hospital for the first time for sever tooth pain. No emergency dentist or my own would see me due to it being
Thanksgiving weekend. The staff and doctor were extremely helpful and so nice. They were organized and I was in and out faster than any hospital I have ever had to ho to. Amazing group of people
Adrienne Melamed
My husband and I set up our appointments to get vaccinated and not only was the website efficient, the guards, the staff and everyone else that worked there were beautiful people, extremely friendly, efficient and kind. I'm glad they were able to set up a great vaccination site!
Linda Allen
Because of a late delivery of vaccine all morning appointments were pushed to the afternoon when I had my appointment. Resulting in long lines and a 2 hour wait. Most o f it standing. A different approach should have been taken, possibly scheduling the morning appointments at the end of the day. Staff was professional and helpful. Medical personnel wonderful.
Ray Conklin
Received my first COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine on Sun, 1/31/2021 at Metlife Stadium. I was very impressed with the organized methods of check-in, health screening, questionnaire completion, scheduling of the second and final vaccine, and receiving the vaccine from the superbly expert staff. The female nurse administered the injection with zero feeling. Other than a lethargic feeling the next day, I felt no adverse effects from the vaccine. All personnel, start to finish, were welcoming, polite, courteous, and professional.
Rowena Dimaano
Hospital and staff are all great except Ambulance transport is not covered by insurance and they do not tell you beforehand. I was very surprise with a huge bill afterwards. I wish they will actually tell you what service is covered and which one is not, maybe I can find another Ambulance transportation that will cover costs without paying a lot of money.
Ray Trinc
Hackensack Meridian has always been there for me through the last two years during my hospitalization for triple bypass major complications after surgery leaving me for six weeks in ICU and many follow up visits needed to get me back on my feet. I am thankful for all the good doctors, fantastic nurses, assistants and all the hospital staff that were there for me when I needed them.
Security icam
Excellent service, so impressed. The doctors came couple times. The nurses ware very polite.
lainie mcdonnell
I received both my COVID vaccinations at Hackensack Meridian. During each visit, the site was extremely well organized and the staff were unfailingly helpful and polite throughout, even to some customers who were rude and argumentative. Thank you to all those working there for taking care of us in a professional and efficient manner.
Wendy Nastasi
I have been going to John Theurer Cancer Center which is a part of Hackensack Meridian Health now for almost 6 yrs. From the moment I first stepped in the building, I felt surrounded by angels. The people that work there, from the Doctors and Nurses, to the support staff.....every single one of them is there to take excellent care of you, and your family. I feel a part of this family, and am quite convinced that I would not be here to tell you this, if it were not for their cutting edge cancer treatment. This is a special place that truly cares.
Sue McConnnell
I have been In-patient three times at Hackensack University Medical Center in the two years I have been in New Jersey and I could not be happier with my experiences there. As a bone marrow transplant patient, I have a suppressed immune system and all three times I came in through the emergency room, I was identified immediately as a cancer/transplant patient and placed in an appropriate area. My experiences up on the Transplant floor were wonderful. The doctors and nurses are attentive and so pleasant! They communicate with my other doctors and I always feel well cared for. The food isn’t bad, either!;-)
Stephanie Morabito
I had the best care at this facility from the moment I walked through the door! Everyone always had a smile in their face; everything explained; never ever waited for someone when I rang for a nurse/aide; everyone pleasant; the nurses were on time with my medications; nurses/aides were always willing to help with a smile. I can't say how happy I am that I chose this facility. Nothing bad to say at all. An overall POSITIVE A+++ and more experience!
Maurie Sacks
I rated this 3 because I am considering the ER. I found the care in the hospital to be excellent. On a floor, nursing assistants came promptly when I needed help, Dr.'s (not always your specialist, but a representative) came daily. The food is excellent. In the hospital and during stays in "Observation" after arriving in the ER. Some of the hospital accomodations are old and nasty. I was on a cancer floor in which there were two people in a dingy room. One bed was away from the window and perpetually in the dark. I've been in "observation" overnight and the care is great--but you never know what kind of room you're going to land in -- a dingy one or a brand new one (I've been in both). The 3 rating is because of the ER. It's horrible, if you don't have a life-threatening condition. I've been stuck in a corridor waiting for 12 hours for an MRI. No one stops to help you get to the bathroom (sides of bed are up), or get a drink of water. Food is spotty, and disgusting. I had a walker with me when I arrived and it was lost. One Dr. was, I thought, inappropriate. However, I still believe that, with all its resources, Hackensack would be best if you turn out to have a serious condition, so I continue to go there. During the pandemic, when there were only a few people in the ER, I had my own room and excellent service but, when it fills up again -- be prepared!
Gary D'orio
They take great care to ensure a safe healthcare environment for both staff workers and Patients. The quality of the actual healthcare services is very close to the best possible under these difficult conditions. Do not hesitate to schedule your necessary procedures.
Catherine Tufano
I had a wonderful experience in the ER after falling at home. The doctors were very thorough in ordering x-rays and lab tests. They took their time in explaining the tests they ordered and being able to use My Chart enabled me to read the test results which came in after I was discharged. I would recommend this hospital to my friends and family.
Kaileen Alston
Everything was clean and properly socially distanced. However, when the technician finished my COVID test she told me I could leave. I thought I had to get other tests done; so I asked her "Are you sure I don't need any other tests?" She said "No." I thought I told her this was preoperative testing. She said I didn't need anything else. Nevertheless, my doctor called 2 days later saying I had to go back for more tests. I wish all the necessary tests had been done the first time.
Cleofas Vital
The Service is beyond expectations, Excellent caring Nurses, staff, everyone. My Wife had a Cesarean and every minute the nurses were checking on her, they made us feel like home and family.
Thank you Very much ALL!!
Rebekka Schleier
We delivered our baby at this hospital and were able to stay for 4 days after the delivery. It was a wonderful experience - everyone, from the doctors to the nurses to the lactation consultants to the staff, were amazingly supportive, knowledgable, helpful and gracious with their time. We couldn't have asked for better treatment and care!
Janeann Linde
My initial vaccine in registering took about six hours, even though I am a health care worker. The first appointment went very smoothly. The second appointment, I stood outside the Meadowlands in the freezing cold for 2 and half hours before I got into the building.
Claire Togher
I received my first and second doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine at HUMC. The entire process was flawless from beginning to end. There was plenty of secure parking, for free, and then I was directed to the vaccination area across the street. After waiting in line for less than 5 minutes, I was asked a few questions and then directed across the hall, where I was promptly and painlessly given “the shot.” Then I was escorted to a sitting area where I waited for 15 minutes to be sure I had no reaction to the vaccination.
Every single person I encountered at HUMC was competent, professional, friendly and caring. I feel very fortunate to have received both doses of the vaccination at such a well-run hospital. HUMC should be recognized and commended for being such an extraordinary medical facility, both for the way they handled the COVID vaccinations and for all the great medical care my husband and I have received there over the years — we wouldn’t trust anywhere else!
Jacqueline Martinez
Loved this hospital! Everyone was so friendly, I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and I went for the maternity tour. It was long but our nurse guide was super friendly, funny & very knowledgeable! She answered every question you may have had which wasn’t much because she covered everything. I loved it and I can’t wait to give birth here in only a few more weeks!
Rudolph Kassinger
i had a pacemaker installed in my heart. entered hospital @ 7:00 AM,
entered operating room @ 10:30 AM, left hospital at about 2:30PM.
the nursing care couldn't have been better. it's been about 5 months since
surgery and have not had any problems. i'll be 90 in a few weeks.
i'll be back in about 7-10 years for a battery replacement.
Mary Ann La Regina
I have never been hospitalized and being I had a major surgery, the treatment was absolutely outstanding. I have never had so much attention, compassionate people, and people that listened knowing I was in such a scary situation.
Although I had to do this alone because of the virus the people that were attending to me not once made me feel like I was alone.
Thank you.
Leah Haber
They took care of my kidney stone problem, this Hospital is the best!!
Barbara Parseghian
I've had some serious health issues in the past few months. I've had no choice but to go to the hospital and doctors who are helping to keep me alive, even though I feel the risk with Covid. They have been so careful and working hard to keep everyone who enters the building safe and comfortable. Every doctors office is adhering to every rule to keep everyone well. I have nothing but great things to say about my experiences there so far.
David Sugerman
I had a radical cystectemy at Hackensack UMC on February 3rd and subsequently spent 6 nights in the Urology ward. I had a large private cheerful room and my care was outstanding. The nursing and medical staff were kind, thoughtful and exceedingly diligent in every aspect of my treatment! It felt as if I was a personal guest. I don't think I could have made a better choice for the operation or the hospital stay. The surgical procedure was successful and without any complications. I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr Michael Stifelman and Dr Mutahar Ahmed for their outstanding skills.
M V
My mother in law came in for a radiology procedure on the first floor. The staff were nice, had her test on time, but then a transporter came in, and she was taken to a building across the street through a parking garage , where she stayed for a couple for hours before she went home. The staff did everything possible to make her comfortable, but all she talks about is the cold garage and visitors looking at her laying on stretcher. She felt there was no privacy.
Mehmet
My experience as an inpatient was amazing. The nurses, doctors and all of the ancillary healthcare workers essential to the function of this one of a kind great establishment was superb. I can’t say enough about the care and caring I received while I was at HUMC. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every professional that helped me get back to my family and routine.
David Wehrle
This is the best trauma center and hospital in New Jersey! Yes, the facility and location are good, but it is the carrying and skilled staff that make this a great place to heal. I was stuck by a car while cycling in North Arlington, NJ. The police and ambulance crew confirmed my choice of Hackensack University Medical Center and got me there fast. The trauma team was busy saving lives when I arrived, but I was not overlooked. I was rushed to a trauma area where for doctors and a supervising doctor and team of nurses and technicians looked me over thoroughly - everything from checking my orientation to ultra-sound exam of my insides. Several passes through the CAT scanner - right in the trauma center and 15 get from where I was examined - showed that I had fractured two vertebrae. A surgeon came to my bed in the trauma center in minutes and has cared for and followed me over 10 months of healing. I was admitted and the nursing staff in the ER, and on the floor, the doctors, and the PT and rehab. staff were all very attentive and caring. I was back on my bike within 3 months and my recovery is continuing nicely. Great hospital!
Marylin Kravatz-Toolan
I received two doses of the Covid vaccine at HMH. All personnel were professionally competent and very pleasant. Everything ran smoothly which was very much appreciated. Thank you for an overall positive experience. Well done!
Katiuska De Leon
BEST HEALTH/MEDICAL SERVICE I'VE EVER RECEIVED! I got into the ER for some abdominal pain and As soon as I got there, I got checked in and all. They took care of me quickly, with blood work, Xrays and all. Attentions were A+! Best ever received in an ER. The diagnose was my appendix, so they left me hospitalized for surgery for early morning next day.
The hospitalization was quick and nurses and overall staff very friendly and caring.
I really have nothing negative to say about this hospital. Totally recommend

I have been taking part in a research study, ran by Dr Donato, as a convalescent plasma donor for COVID19 at the John Theurer Cancer Center since mid December and I can’t tell you how great the staff is there. From parking attendants to the nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors and everyone in between, you have all been exceptional and had an answer for every question that crossed my mind. A special shout-out to Nadia and Kelly who continuously stayed in touch with me before, during and after my donations to ensure everything was going as smoothly as possible. Another special shout-out to Jen, who was my nurse during my donations. Jen went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and was very thorough and methodical when prepping me for my donations. You all are doing a fantastic job doing your part in helping us getting ahead of this pandemic and I’m glad to have met you.
Jane Briamonte
Given all the frustration and difficulty surrounding getting the vaccination for Covid 19, I must say that once scheduled at Hackensack Hospital everything went smoothly. Everyone who was working there was courteous. efficient, informative and kind. Definitely a 5 star experience. Thank you!!
geff malz
The 1st appointment was fantastic, fast moving and well organized.
The 2nd appointment was a disaster. Had long lines, behind schedule, making people wait in the rain. Actual vaccine line was empty, registration was backed up and not getting patients thru to vaccine line quickly enough. Also front desk was moving slow to. Need to get better organized.
Pat Manganello
i had a wonderful experience because I had some of the finest staff taking care of me --Dr Geofrrey Pelz and his entire office staff. They are helpful, pleasant easy to talk with. The nurses in the OR were amazing. I could not ask for better after care after my surgery. I wish I could name all of them,, but there isn't enough space.

Last month was one of the worst month of my life. Getting the news that my mammogram was abnormal and I needed a stereotactic biopsy was very difficult to hear. Being a nurse I see firsthand how devastating this diagnosis can be. I couldn't help but possibly seeing myself on the receiving end. Thank God I had my procedure with benign results. I am so grateful for the team that took care of me. Dr McCain for putting my mind at ease, Dr sunkavalli, my mammography technologist Lucy were very supportive an efficient. I also want to give a special thanks to Elizabeth, the nurse who held my hand through the whole procedure. She was such a vital part of the team that helped the procedure go smoothly. She reminded me how important we are as nurses to the care of our patients. I felt I was in very competent hands the whole time I was there and will continue to seek my care at your breast center. Everyone there was compassionate and empathetic from start to finish. This is most important when patients are going through such trying times. Thank you again to everyone involved.
Felesha Beckford
The staff was courteous and supportive, I seriously would not have asked for a better experience. I’m truly thankful for their care. They treat their patients with the most expert attention and they make me feel at home.
Ellen Oh
This is a wonderful hospital. I am home with my first baby and miss being there where the food and staff were all excellent and allowed me to recover quickly and get as much rest as possible. Every nurse is trained to help with breastfeeding, and they really made sure you were prepared and well taken care of before leaving the hospital.
Charles Worth
During my stay of 13 days for Open heart surgery. I received the highest care from the ICU staff as well my after care. The dedication that was given to my care each day and evening was exceptional. I would give my care takers the highest rating possible. Though my time in the hospital was a sensitive time for me and my family the nursing staff was exceptional and made mystay as comfortable and professional as could be given

We are very pleased with the professionalism and friendly staff at Southern Ocean Med. Ctr. The Emergency Dept. was efficient and precise. We could not have been treated better. Everyone, including front desk, nurses, Dr Valko, & insurance person were very helpful. I highly recommend this hospital!

This happened in 2018 I was discharged from another Hospital told me take meds i did but 2 weeks later ended worst I decided to go 2 Hackensack Hospital I could admit it was pack in the ER it was a wait but they saved my life they found another issue in my heart that the other Hospital didn't find. So I Had Open Heart surgery I didn't have insurance I was waiting on approval at that time. They still took me in I was bless with these Doctors that showed me so much compassion caring for me It felt good that someone cares for their patients the staff is very friendly ...stood there 1-1/2 week I was surprised the food is great. I changed my old Heart doctors to the one so save me in this Hospital..This Hospital is #1 in my book !!🥰💔💖❤💝

I had an excellent experience delivering at Hackensack Medical Center. The nursing and support staff were incredibly attentive. I was impressed by the response time of the anesthesiologist once I requested an epidural - he came within minutes and asked for my feedback during the procedure. An anesthesiologist came to check on me the day after as well to make sure I wasn't experiencing any complication.
My Ob, Maria Keanchong, was the absolute best. She knew that I wanted to do everything possible to have a vaginal delivery and she did so many things to help achieve this goal. I felt that she and the nursing staff worked well as a team and this helped calm my nerves as a first time mom.

Everything about my experience with this hospital was positive, from scheduling pre-admission testing to being transported out to my car after discharge. Everyone was the perfect combination of professional, knowledgeable and personable. It made me feel at ease and confident throughout my procedure. This is my second surgical procedure, and I will never go to another hospital if I can help it.

What an amazing experience I had in this hospital. I had my son via c-section. Dr. Collado and all of the staff were amazing making sure My son and I were taken care of at all times. Special thanks to the nursing staff including Nurse Terri and nurse Paulina but all the nurses were so helpful thru this experience which can be so overwhelming for a new mom. I would recommend to anyone !

Thank you Hackensack Meridian for your outstanding service to the community. I was truly impressed with your organizational skills and dedicated employees in helping so many people get their vaccines. I am so grateful to get my shots. It's like a burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I hope to resume some normalcy to my life.

Took my entire family here over a period of 6 weeks for our Covid 19 Vaccine and I could ask for a better experience. everyone was Kind professional and had great bedside manners!! Great job!

It was a very scary time for me, being faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer. I loved how all the doctors worked together as a team to discuss my diagnosis and treatment needs. They gave me time to ask questions and provided me with the answers and referrals I needed from surgery to chemo to radiation and finally to reconstruction. The staff at the John Theurer Cancer Center is absolutely amazing! Thank you for all you have done for me during my journey to health and healing!
Megan Walsh
I had surgery recently and my experience from start to finish was seamless. Felt comfortable, well informed and well taken care of the whole time. Surgical team was kind and smart, and recovery room nurse was caring and kind as well. Would recommend this facility to anyone.

Brought my father in for extreme pain and he could not walk. We sat from 10 am till 3 pm and nothing was done. The doctors are like the keystone cops.
I had to leave my mom in the lobby because she was afraid to leave my dad. At 6:45 pm , they all finally woke up and got the results from the x ray that there was no fractures and he could go. Again waiting forever so they could take the IV out and at 7 pm they kicked my 76 year old deaf mother out in the heat to wait for us. I came out with him to find her outside and look up to see three security guards playing on their phones. She couldn't wait in the air conditioned lobby but the security guards could play in their phones. These "men" should be ashamed of themselves. My mom, myself and this tiny little woman all struggled to help my dad in the car. Maybe if they looked up from their phone they might have seen us but they probably didn't care anyway. Never going back.

On June 1, 2020, I had my Kidney Transplant surgery at Hackensack Hospital. I was first patient after COVID-19 who received Kidney. Dr. Michael J. Goldstein a wonderful surgeon, and he's the staff always helpful and kind. They ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I especially loved how Dr. Michael J. Goldstein really took his time to explain my conditions after surgery with me as well as my treatment plan. I never feel rushed, and he always ask's, if I have any other questions. Dr. Michael J. Goldstein and the entire staff are beyond amazing. I also want to say THANK YOU TO ALL NURSE’S at Hackensack Hospital, who was with me and take cared me during my postoperative time.

Delivered my son at 36 weeks via emergency c-section here. Had a great experience with the nurses, surgeon, anesthesiologist, before during and after the surgery. However the labor and delivery nurses in te mother child section were often rude telling me to get out of bed and that I should go home instead of remaining at the hospital for the time my doctor recommended etc. They were often rude and unpleasant.
Fransheska Rodriguez
I had my two children in this hospital and it has been a great experience. My children has also been seeing at this hospital for emergency care and regular check up and I can say that until now has been a great experience nothing to complain. I'm currently pregnant with my third baby and decided to go back to this hospital because I was having a really bad experience with the other hospital. HUMC has been so far the best hospital I have ever been to.
Gwen Robinson
Came into emergency with swollen face. The wait was less than 10 min to have me do initial intake.
Taken into a room , met with insurance person ( my medical coverage discussed). Seen by two doctors (half hour wait) Got a shot and meds.. There about 3 hours. Longest wait was waiting for prescription. Lots of doctors. My daughter works here (8 years) in emergency and says "they know their stuff." I agree

I am impressed! From before we even got into the emergency room, we were helped to valet by a security guard and given a wheelchair. Valet staff were super friendly and the secure guard was super informative. Upon reaching the ER we were registered and taken in immediately where vitals were taken and the nurse triaged us. Everyone was so friendly. The transporter then immediately took us up to vascular. He offered a blanket. When we reached vascular we were again greeted by super friendly staff who offered tissues and blankets and help. The US tech explained what she was doing and the results. From there we were taken again by the tech straight to the ER (and offered blankets again) where the doc came and visited us. Everything was done so smoothly and beautifully. We had questions after the doc left and my brother had questions as well via FaceTime, so I asked the nurse who called the doctor in again. The doctor was very cooperative and explained her diagnosis to my brother on video call. Upon leaving the nurse made sure we spoke to the doc. While leaving we got a little lost. I asked a security guard how to get to the ER exit and he told me that I could have the valet bring my car right to me if I give my ticket to the helper in the lobby I was in. One phone call and I was set. Valet brought my car and took the wheelchair. In and out under 2.5 hours. Beautiful staff, friendly service, clean facility. What more could you ask for? Impressed is an understatement. Thank you to the entire staff! Keep up the amazing work! What you do is highly appreciated!!

Had a great experience here although I don't remember most of it because of my concussion, I received great care. Although the security was tight for visitors I later found out it was due to flu season and they did not want to get any patients exposed. The nurses were polite and the doctors seemed very efficient and opened to questions. All in all I enjoyed the rest of my stay here. They took every precaution to ensure I was safe and in good health. They may have some things they need to work on communication via phones or email, but overall I feel they did well.

The Hackensack Meridian University Medical Center helped us with the vaccination process to make it an enjoyable thing to do. Everyone we cam in contact with were warm and yet very business like and hospitable. We were there for a short period of time before we got the shot and then rested to see if we had any reaction to the shot. This was so well organized that they are to be complimented on the whole process. God bless to the complete staff who made all of this possible. Walter Wilsey White

Hackensack University Medical Center is the only hospital I would ever go to. All of my doctors work out of that hospital, the emergency room staff is outstanding and the medical knowledge and how they attend to their patients is outstanding. The specialist that they have working in the emergency room are top doctors. The nurses are also Awesome. When I was treated there, I just couldn't believe how they made sure every possible health situation was evaluated and examined properly before I left. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors on the emergency room staff at Hackensack University medical center.
Kimberly Carrafiello
The doctors, nurses and technicians are great. They made the experience easy and comforting however phone communication is not so great. Very difficult to get a hold of the receptionist in the actual office to the point where the answering service continues to pick up for them and never identify themselves that they are the answering service and it’s always
“Someone will get back to you.” That part is frustrating.
Raquel Gomes
Im from out of town and the ER was normal until Coco his was so attentive and caring made me feel like a human not just a number. Coco was Constantly checking on me. He made my ER experience a good one!😊
Had to be admitted to 2 East and meet a gentleman named Mark Morrison. He was outstanding he took the time to listen to me and made me feel at home. Felt like I had a friend in the hospital that would take care of me. He was truly genuine and caring in heart 💗and action.
Unfortunately I’ve stayed in many hospitals but this hospital has spa like services. And very Supportive concierge’s services.
Frances Maglio
My experience at your facility was very pleasant. And 99 percent of this was because of the surgeon I had. Dr. Ellen Hagopian- I have had 2 surgeries performed by her. She is a old fashion doctor that cares about her patience and takes the extra time to explain and care. Her bedside manner is excellent. I never had anything thank God wrong with me and then 2 surgeries a year apart. But I was able to handle it because she was my doctor and I knew I was in capable hands. The hospital is always clean, everyone very friendly and helpful. Parking is a VERY VERY BIG PROLEM whether you valet or not. Overall the hospital is a very efficient place to be
James P
Went for scheduled surgery and spent one night. Mostly all staff was pleasant, except one of the vital checkers in red scrubs. Attitude. O.R. needed a little touch up work. Food was excellent (no restricted diet). Sorry I did not have much of an appetite.
Christina Jacobs
I think the back bone of my experience are the nurses. They were the front line of it all. They helped me alot especially when my husband and I lost our baby. They were so caring and so compassionate. They understood our pain and hugs were nice. I thank you to the nurses and my doctors:)
K O
They were extremely helpful and professional during my visit despite it being an extremely busy evening. They went out of their way to assist me as it was unusual circumstances. My child was with me and I had difficulty finding someone to watch him last minute. They began working on me in the waiting room to avoid exposing him to anything harmful. Once a sitter arrived, they took me right in and addressed the issues I was having. They provided me with educational information and set up the needed referrals. This is the preffered hospital choice for my family for this and other reasons.
Linda Zack
My experience at Hackensack Hospital has been wonderful. The hospital is clean and fully equipped with the latest technology. The staff and the nurses are kind, truly caring, always there to help and knowledgeable in their field. Their expertise in their work is outstanding. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Thomas Conarty
My experience of having a stem cell transplant at HUMC was tremendous. Everyone from the MD's to the RN's to the people who cleaned my room were all outstanding. I rarely have had such an experience and feel all of the staff did a great great job. The other part of this that was so good was the transition from one nurse to another was so smooth. The communication of my status and any special concerns was so well done that it gave me a feeling of caring and comfort. Lastly it was often talked about as a team effort and I must say that visits from clergy social workers and dieticians really helped me during the stay as well as the recovery at home. Overall many thanks to all and I certainly give an unconditional recommendation to anyone who is considering this type of procedure.

Regarding my chest discomfort and scare:
Thank you for the emergency technicians, doctor's and nurses. They
really know their stuff and didn't make me wait longer than necessary.
I generally found nearly everyone in the hospital going out of their way
to make me feel comfortable and help me through my stay. From the techs to the service aids, everyone doing their best.
The technicians that administered the tests were great and very good
at getting the results while making me comfortable.. Thank you for your
dedication and professionalism. You are the best.
I found one of the charge nurses's to not fully understand the need for proper disbursal of my daily meds or my ability to handle their effects that my personal doctor has so entrusted. This lack of flexibility and trust was irritating but manageable. The charge nurse and her staff need to follow medication dosing schedules more completely and trust their informed patients since the information given them was first given to the patient from their doctor. If they intend to discount that information, then they should develop a method of getting that dosing information directly from the doctor instead of creating a power play between the patient and the staff over their normal, daily medications. There is always room for improvement. I am sure someone will improve this. This is a great hospital.
Also. Teach the young, high-strung IV tech students that if a patient
tells you that you cannot put an IV in a particular arm, for cause, they better listen. The patient understands his own physiology better than
any student and this would prevent a great deal of unnecessary discomfort. This would be a reason for choosing a different hospital.
You do not want robots without an off switch, poking you with sharp objects, especially a non supervised student or near student who handles
you like he is applying a coat of compounding wax to an old car with little paint left to revive. This one slipped through the cracks too, I know you will correct. Good Luck.
Having the over-seeing floor doctor prompt the patients for "could we have done anything better?" was there anything you didn't like here?
This would bring a huge improvement and really tie the service up neatly.
Finally. The cardiologist assigned chose a passive nuclear stress test which yielded incomplete results. An echo doppler they didn't order, would have addressed the murmur, and an actual regular stress test would have been more revealing. It doesn't take every test in the cardiologist's book to get to the heart of the matter. Such thinking would probably help lower health insurance costs. I am on the road to better health. Thank you Hackensack. Hackensack is still my first choice in hospitals and providers. I do think you are the best in this area and applaud your continued ability to grow and serve.
Open communication like this is key to improvements. I hope they continue it. I would have never thought to offer a review if I hadn't been
asked. I think this is the best hospital in the area because
it keeps growing to serve all it's patient's individual needs.
Thank you again.

Every single time I go to the office I am given expert level care from everyone I encounter. From the friendly receptionist to the scheduler, from the excellent doctors and nursing staff, EVERYONE is so nice, knowledgeable and incredible efficient. It is a pleasure to have finally found the care that I have been seeking for quite a long time.
Harriet Finder
The vaccination process was done very efficiently and professionally.
The wait time was minimal and required no long lines to stand on. Every person I encountered during the process could not have been nicer.
Linda Childs
While the admitting process at 10:00pm went well and my daughter would be allowed to lie down instead of sitting in a waiting room, once she was lying on the gurney in a hall, she was left there for 4 hours while staff changed shifts and went on breaks. While I understand that being in a hallway puts her in the middle of things, the staff was completely oblivious to her, and others, lying ill in the hallway and continued top-of-voice personal conversations and loud laughter. They acted like children in a kindergarden playground even having to wait in the deserted procedure room at 2:00am while the technician and a staff member had a personal conversation. Before we left at 3:30am, two different nurses offered her the same potent antibiotic - she told the second she already took one, but had she not, who knows what would have resulted. Someone needs to have a conversation with these staff members about professional behavior.
Stephanie Thompson
Beware of how you are treated when it comes to the financial aspect of this hospital. They found every excuse to OVER charge me before my procedure and refuse to file the bill with insurance to ensure I am refunded the difference. I didn't even KNOW this kind of thing was possible. Its been 5 months of back and forth and every time I call customer service I get 1. Excuses 2. Bad Attitudes and 3. they never follow up as requested. I will likely never get my money reimbursed.
They are using stonewalling tactics to keep their pockets lined at the patients expense and it is WRONG.
__________
UPDATE: After writing this review and filing a detailed formal complaint through their website I was assigned a special customer service rep who kept me updated on my bill with insurance, followed up and stayed in contact regularly for months! No more stonewalling. I was given a direct number and email for contact. Its still been months and the resolution is in sight and the customer service has improved. THANK YOU.

I always Look forward to come every time I give birth here at Hackensack. The attention and care that I receive here is out of this world amazing. The food service here is delicious! And the staff and nurses are always so kind and attentive. I would not want to give birth anywhere else. Me and my newborn are always well taken care.
Mariann Pappagallo
I can't begin to explain to you how impressed I was with not only the concern amongst the staff relative to me, but the team work they showed while working with one another.
They are a dedicated group of individuals, and their primary concern is to
make the patient feel comfortable and assure them all will be fine.
I feel safe when I'm there.
Vanessa Colonna
Had surgery last month and was in the hospital for 6 days. The staff in the hospital did a great job and nurses were thorough. I think the doctors could have done a better job at explaining things to me and what to expect from the surgery and afterwards. The communication needs to happen. I still don’t have a clear understanding of the pathology to be honest. I was told someone from the hospital would be calling me afterwards and I never got that call.
Michael Moffa
The nursing staff and my attending physicians were extremely professional and skilled. I feel I received the highest care possible. Strongly recommend Hackensack Meridian Hospital.
Angela Rose
My first surgery and during the pandemic....All the people from the moment I walked in to the nurses in post op were helpful, compassionate and comforting. Considering I had cancer surgery I still had a good experience overall.
robert goodman
The doctor's and the care I received was very good. The only complaint I have was that I scheduled my surgery a month in advance, and 2 days before the scheduled surgery, I was informed that I would have to pay $1600 out of my own pocket, despite having insurance. Why they did not notify me of this cost sooner is anyone's guess. I wish they gave me at least an estimate of what expenses I might be responsible. Not just notify 2 days beforehand.
Daisy Ortiz
Going to a hospital during these times can be scary. I am so grateful to the ER team here. Thank you for taking care of my father and I which both got pneumonia. I will never forget how the ER PA constantly checked if my meds were given and when he saw the nurses were backed up he went and gave my the meds himself. Honestly thank you 🙏 …
Walking Awake
Very crowded, and I don't mean busy. It seems like things and people are just jammed into way to small a space.
Pre op, surgery and post op nurses and doctors all excellent! Once you get put in a room it is a different story, some good nurses, some staff clearly could not care less.
Ready to leave at 9am.. Discharge took till 1.30pm!
Have not yet got the bill so....

The lymphoma department PW floor 5, they are phenomenal!! The nurses and staff are angles. Dr. Feldman and Joelle are amazing doctors and nurse. Don't know how they do it all. Never came across more empathetic knowledgeable group of people in my life. They treated me so well, made sure I was as comforfortable as I could be, informed me every step of the way on treatment, and were so sweet always. I will never forget anyone of them. Even down to the lady who cleaned my room. I can never thank them all enough! love you guys!
That being said, I guess every department is different and I've been in a few. Conkilin could use some help. Nurses not too friendly and needs updating. They are not quick to help you at all.
The ER is horrific. Nurses know nothing. Very inexperienced. Same for the doctors. Doctors and staff shifts change so frequently no one steady to take care of you. They never respond to a call button. Zero empathy for who they care for. They are all miserable people with zero patience taking it out on everyone. There tone is very unwarm. It's is what I witnessed towards others as well as myself. The whole set up is ridiculous with people in pain throwing up being kept in hallways to save the many open rooms for patients who may come that might need a monitor. The rooms that look updated are not, nothing works. There is a room with continual banging noise that is just the norm. My initial stay I was there for 5 days in and much in the hallway. I had to ask for a bed and a room and it was clear it was an extreme burden to the nurse to attempt to get me that. More empathic nurses around her got it for me finally. Always seemed to have gotten stuck with the mean nurses. I am a very patient an soft spoken person and did not derseve the treatment I received. Having to try to sleep in loud hallway for days in extreme pain was terrible. Zero care. I was finally diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and then finally got care and was moved. You need an entire new staff and management there. Seems the only way to dramatically change those problems. Everyone's got to go, move them to a more specialized department. Take some experienced nice nurses and doctors and have them work there a bit so you can see how it should run. It was truely horrific!! And everyone I have spoken to aggrees. I've been there twice. Both experiences were shocking. And the waste of money they spend on things. My garbage was taken out like every ten minutes. Strange. I'm thinking you need more MRI machines. The wait for that is unacceptable. People can't get treated or food until these tests are done and you wait days. The doctors there are children with zero care an no experience. Although I did meet two that seemed ok but shift changed and never saw them again.
Again the hospital has great specialists and great departments. Lymphoma is the best. The transporters are great as well. The radiology department was wonderful too. Thank you to the wonderful staff who took such great care of me. I'm doing well now. You are truely angels to me and l am forever indepted to you. Thank you doctor Feldman for saving me. You are an amazing doctor and I trusted you and you made me feel so well taken care of. I love you and your great staff. Will never forget what you have done for me.

The John Theurer Cancer Center is fabulous. I am a nurse and very critical of health care. My husband George has been treated at JTCC for 5 years.
The entire staff is magnificent. They are caring individuals who go out of their way to make our lives easier. True professionals even the axillary staff, phlebotomists, medical assistants and the clerical staff
Gita Mehta
Efficient and Cordial staff with patient care being the top priority. Excellent food with diet monitored per physician's guidance. Neat and clean facility.
All the bumps across the building in hospital buildings must be removed to comfort the patient travelling in the stretcher or wheel chair. It is too bumpy.
Steve Baltin
I have received outstanding care by my plastic surgeon, Dr. Gregory Rauscher. He removed a cancerous growth on the top of my head and during the surgery he and his nurses treated me with kindness and did a very professional job. I had the same positive experiences during visits to him before and after my surgery....Steve Baltin
Mr E
This is the best hospital in NJ -period! Every department and employee from medical staff to housekeeping conduct the business of “patient care” with the utmost concern and care, which makes me feel lucky to be a patient there. I have been going there for years and have zero complaints.
Melissa Brown Blaeuer
Client experience is not as good as it was when I was at this ER a few years ago. It's fine, but more typical now. On my prior visit, I remember more attention paid to individual patients, their wait time, and doctor discharge instructions.
Danny Camacho
The nurses were great very professional and very helpful and sweet. Brenda Chu, Ann Lane, everyone showed lots of concern and appreciation for donating my stem cell. I want to take a moment and say thanks all the staff who helped make this happen for my brother David C., I can't express how happy I am that everything went smooth and well enough. But most importantly I want everyone to know that God has been in control the whole time, there's not a bit of doubt about it, the most high heavenly father made it all happen...Praises to God almighty Yahweh ..🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Joseph Celentano
Very well planned and executed system for both testing and vaccinating large groups of people. Staff was very professional and helpful. Great job all around, Thank you to all the hardworking folks that made this possible
Melissa DG
They treated me well! I had a D & C, unfortunately I lost my baby in an early stage of the pregnancy. But the stuff were awesome from the beginning. Even in this pandemic time they took all the precautions.
greg della pia
The staff at Hackensack working the vaccine site did an outstanding job in administering both phases of my COVID vaccine.
They processed all paperwork, and had me in and out in no time.
Thank you for helping to make our world a safer place

From the period I went there as a child (2003-2012) I had a mostly wonderful experience, whether I was going to Tomorrows Children Institute or up on the floor for overnight stays. The nurses (most anyway) were always sweet and considerate and made a huge impact on my life and helped me get through my childhood illness. The doctors were always very skilled and on top of everything (even if they are a little aloof and impersonal). Overall I highly recommend this hospital. I no longer go there sadly after I aged out of the program- now as an adult I am forced to go to the HORRIBLE Newark Beth Israel. I pray every day I don't die because of Newark ugh.

Thanks to Dr. Lauren Koneris for giving me the heads up that Hackensack medical center was taking appointments for covid vaccines. I was able to get an appointment for two weeks after the call. The process was very well organized and took one hour from beginning to end. My follow up vaccine was scheduled for five weeks after the first and that one also went very well. Thanks also for the free parking across the street. Thanks Nick Carpinelli
Maureen
The treatment / service I received was very good. From the nurse to the attending PA - it was all good.
The one thing I was displeased with was the fact that I had to sit and wait in the ED waiting room for over 30 minutes when I was PROFUSELY BLEEDING!. If it wasn't for me something to the PA and ask to please get me into a room for stitches, I would most likely have been sitting there for many many hours before being seen. Nobody else in the waiting room was bleeding; there was someone with a bump on the head, someone in a wheel chair with a bad leg, etc. I was the only one spouting blood and I still had to sit and wait.
Something like that should be considered a priority.
Kaila M.
Terri, Barbara, Kim, and the blonde lactation nurse with lots of patience. I thank y’all from the bottom of my heart for making my birth experience the best you possibly could. Kim you had the night shift every time my baby would cry you would come in the room and check on me while my boyfriend slept. Barbra you are so genuine in what you do you assisted me in breastfeeding and getting my baby to latch you talked to me and my boyfriend like we were regular people instead of patients we had a real conversation and I will never forget you. Terri I had you twice the first time I was a bit cranky because of lack of sleep you were my discharge nurse you say and talked to me and gave me advice on nursing and my education. As for the lactation nurse I had gotten to a point I wanted to just give up breastfeeding but you got my baby to latch you gave me hope and you had a crazy amount of patience. I read so many bad reviews about Hackensack hospital and I’m honestly grateful and thankful for the nurses I had and the experience I had giving birth to my baby boy here.

Where do I begin? Immediately from my reception in ER to observation, surgery, ICU, and to observation I was treated, handled, and pampered as if I were a direct family member of each and every staff member at the Hospital. If i were to have passed at least I would have in the presence of FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Amazing people with the patience of many saints. I thank you from the deepest part of my heart and soul for this wonderful chance. Sincerely yours L. Foglia

Hackensack Meridian was the most professional place to get a covid shot the Drs. And nurses that attended to me were wonderful. Professional and caring. I had to wait 15 minutes and was asked constantly how I was. It was a caring experience Very glad I was able to go there..
Michelle Jean
Excellent and thorough care, Hospital was extremely clean and felt safe walking into the hospital during Covid-19. My results were delivered when promised and the follow up call from my physician Dr. Boucree was very professional and friendly. Dr. Boucree genuinely showed care and took the time to explain everything which is rare. Finally found a Hospital group that I love.
Jake Kaplan
Nurses Brielle, Erin, Kathy, and Cynthia in the pediatric unit are insanely nice and are great nurses
Amruta Kulkarni
Pros: Clean facility, Quick service, Helping and kind nurse practitioners.
Cons: A few inexperienced/ rude nurse practitioners (labor, lactation help). Someone's labor should not be a coaching class for new nurses, would have loved the experienced nurse being pro-active and the learner on standby but it was the other way round. One (older) nurse who got upset when I called her in for a non-trivial thing. The room provided post delivery didn't have extra bed for parent/spouse (as advertised during tour), we had to request it.
katherine remache
I was hospitalized at this center once and I don’t think I would want to be taken care of at any other hospital. The staff was very attentive and polite for every step of the way. They constantly have someone going to every room to make sure that you are being properly taken cared of and if you needed anything to make your experience better. I was very satisfied with the service I received at this place, and I would highly recommend others to come here if needed.
sylvia rabacchi
I had a great experience in getting my 2 Covid vaccines at Hackensack Meridian at the Meadowlands. The first time I went straight inside the building without any line on the outside and just a 10-15 min wait, while for the second shot I had a 20min wait outside and then 20min inside. The staff was very helpful and friendly and happy to help.
Kinga N
I delivered my daughter here and my experience was wonderful. The nurses and doctors are amazing, professional and genuinely cared for my wellbeing. My baby was admitted to the NICU and the team went above and beyond to take care of her and help me cope and deal with her being there. It was a scary time for me but the nurses were superstars. I was very glad they were the ones to care for my sick child. Well done NICU team.
Rita Taylor
Got my covid vaccines at the Meadowlands by Hackensack meridian. The place was like a well oiled machine. No wait time, everything was clearly marked on where to go and what to do. The staff was polite, friendly and professional. Both times I went it was a totally pleasant experience. Well done!
Mary Kate Moran
The staff was attentive and caring but it took far too long for me to get a pain pill, and I had to ask repeatedly for one. I arrived around 9:00 - 9:15 am with a fractured wrist, and waited over 2 hours-long before a nurse finally gave me some pain medication. I guess they were confirming my insurance and presumably they had to get authorization first, but I was kept waiting in agony. The dept. frankly seemed overwhelmed and understaffed that particular morning. Otherwise, however, the drs and nurses were all very kind.
Ruby Kang
My experience at Hackensack University Medical Center was nothing but great! I had my first baby here and couldn’t be more thankful to the nurses and the techs for the care that I received. The staff was very accommodating from the point I first arrived to my discharge.

I recently had lung cancer surgery at HMUC and had a very positive experience. Grateful and blessed are the terms that come to mind when I think back. My surgeon, Dr. Nabil Rizk came highly recommended by another healthcare professional who works in the speciality of Lung Cancer. Dr. Rizk and his team were impressive throughout the two years that I have known them. Never disappoints. I will write another review just for his team.
The Radiology department where I had my Ct scans was pleasant as was the staff. The parking was never a problem and usually I got a voucher to cover the cost.
The admission process for the day of surgery was prompt and professional. The entire staff all introduced themselves and explained what their role would be in my care. My Anesthesiologist came and thoroughly discussed my care and I felt confident in his ability. The surgery was delayed because the previous surgery took longer, but my surgeon did explain this to me.
When I was brought to the OR by a very professional gentleman, every staff member was introduced to me and every safety check was made to my identity, procedure, surgeon, allergies, etc. I felt as if I was in very competent hands and not one bit of anxiety. Dr. Rizk and the Anesthesiologist, Dr. D’Souza(?sp) warmly welcomed me to the operating room. I myself have been an OR nurse for 43 years, so this team definitely put me at ease, no small feat!!!
When I woke up in the PACU, again I was cared for by extremely competent and professional nurses. Cathryn surely made an impression on me that I will never forget. Smart, funny, professional, capable and as a nurse, I’d love to work with her. She is an amazing nurse in every sense! She assisted with my transport to the Step down unit because I had a chest tube. Very reassuring.
The Cardio-Thoracic unit that I was transferred to was another impressive area of the hospital. Here another nurse wowed me. Samantha Tritt is an inspiring young nurse who is smart, caring, capable and focused on making sure that I was cared for and comfortable. How refreshing to see such a young nurse with great patient skills who enjoys her job and made my stay even better. I can only imagine that her future is very bright! Every detail of my discharge was taken care of. Since I live more than an hour away in another state, she ensured that I had every detail taken care of and also saw me to the car on my discharge. Again, as a nurse myself, I appreciate all the attention to detail and the level of care that I received.
I would also like to commend Joan (PACU) Gary Johnson, Evelyn and Marcia (4th floor) for the care that I had. I would highly recommend HMUC for Lung Surgery!!!

I visited the Meadowlands Mega Site twice to receive the required two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. My experience during both visits was extremely positive. The facility was very organized and the staff was highly professional.

I went for my covet shot and never had a better run operation than I have seen at the location that they did their shots at the meadowlands. The people were awesome It was really so very well done that I left with a feeling that I had not seen it operation so nicely done and I am somewhat of a expert at those things having run a large business for most of my life thank you so much

Waited very short times for both registration (which was quick, because I've had tests here recently, several times) and to be called in for my MRI. During my MRI, Alex, the Technician, was very caring and concerned with my comfort during the test. Would definitely come here again, and recommend to others!

The experience of being vaccinated with the first doze of vaccine on 2/17/2021 at the meadowlands mega site by Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center was less than excellent because nobody actually made sure that people will enter the site by the time of appointment. This caused a long waiting line outside the site on a very cold morning, and the total time between joining the line and actually receiving the injection was over a hour.
This problem was corrected by the time I came, three weeks later, for the second doze. People were called to the line no longer than ten (10) minutes before their appointment, and practically there was no waiting line. The total time was twelve (12) minutes. What a difference.

I am a family member of a patient who recently stayed for 6 months on 3 north. I witnessed the most amazing Teamwork from true professionals Doctors, Nurses and all the support staff . The caregivers at every stage of Charles 6 month stay never gave up on him. He was Treated with kindness and respect the entire time. We will forever be grateful.
I can't say enough about the experience witnessed at The Medical center. The front desk staff and security greeted us with smiles every day. We are eternally grateful for the quality of care he was given from the ICU staff, Social services, 3 North Nurses and crew (Step down unit), endless hours of Respitory and Radiology support. It really takes a village to care for a patient and Hackensack Trama Medical Center is truly a top rated hospital .

The care at Hackensack University Medical Center during the COVID vaccination process was exceptional. It was very professionally handled from the check-in desk to the vaccination room to the post-shot waiting area. It was very well organized with little waiting time. It was a pleasure.

I can't begin to describe the incredible care I received at H.U.M.C. during my inpatient stay. The compassion and care were beyond excellent. The nurses, nursing assistants, staff, and of course, my doctors were/are all amazing. I can't thank them enough for the care they gave me.
Jason Martinez
This is a without a doubt the best hospital in New Jersey . My wife gave birth There 7/03/17 My Wife and the baby are going home today and our experience there was outragous the staff and the food were all excellent and allowed my wife to recover quickly and get as much rest as possible. Every nurse is trained to help with breastfeeding, and they really made sure you were prepared and well taken care of before leaving the hospital
Ashley Johnson
A lot of times when I needed a nurse to check on me it took much longer than it should. I was recovering from sinus surgery that had complications and a lot of times bleeding before the nurse got to me. I also wasn’t monitored enough and fainted from not eating and drinking enough while on the prescribed medications.,
Kim Lamana
I was absolutely amazed at how organized, professional, and friendly everyone was at the vaccination location! Of course it was a very emotional day and the staff we’re clearly empathetic and displayed excellent interpersonal communication skills! Thank you Mouradian healthcare!

My son had a stomach bug & the doctor & nurses were very pleasant & helpful. The Doctor gave my son what she called a wonder drug & within the hour that I brought my son in he stopped vomiting & was his crazy self again running around the pediatric ward. Everyone was amazing.
John Beck
This was my second COVID shot. Two weeks earlier my wife and I were on line for three hours outside the Meadowlands. It was another hour inside. This visit was 35 minutes from our time of arrival until we exited the building. I am more impressed with the improved time than disappointed by the earlier wait. Keep up the good work!
Melinda Berger
I got the COVID-19 vaccine at Meadowlands Racetrack that was administered by Hackensack Meridian Health staff and it was an amazing experience. The staff was very professional, well organized and gentle when giving the vaccine. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The staff at Hackensack Hospital were amazing. They saved my life. They gave my kids back their mom. I could never repay them. Everyone is so nice and super caring. They always go the extra mile. Dr. Anderson my surgeon and Dr. Satya my heart doctor are top notch doctors. Their team is AMAZING!!!! If you have to have heart surgery Hackensack Hospital is the place you wanna be. They go above and beyond for their patients.

When I made appointment I thought it was too far for me. But with first vaccine I liked how the place was managed and the ease to get it. First time practically no wait and second time only 15 minutes. It was handled very professionally. Thanks.
Paige Coombs
This was the first time I was every hospitalized and it was a better experience than I could have ever asked for. I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my brain and Rebecca the nurse took great care of me in the ER and made me feel so comfortable. The nurse who took me catscan was amazing as well her name was Amy. Next i spent 4 days in the Peds ICU where the nurses Cindy, Sue, Carol Ann, Danielle, Sarah and Alyssa took great care of me bringing he everything I needed and checking on me 24/7 making my stay as comfortable and stress free as it could be. I then spent 5 days in the Peds Hematolgoy/Oncolgy unit and the nurses Joanna, Katie and Danielle did an excellent job taking care of me and meeting my needs as well. All the the staff from PCAs to Nurses, Nurse Practioners, Physican Assistants and Residents and Doctors were knowledgeable and took exevellent care of me and met all of my needs by going above and beyond. They set a great example of what I hope to exude when practicing medicine one day!
Gloria Schackner
The staff that took care of me on January 24th couldn't have been better. From nurses to aides and the doctors I was extremely well taken care of. A special shout out to Dr Montgomery for her care. She took an anxiety ridden experience for me and turned it into one that I was able to handle. Besides being a skilled surgeon her personality is stellar. I love her sense of humor. A special thanks to my anesthesiologist, whose name eludes me. He was caring, sweet and I woke up.
What more could I ask for?
George Hamway
Very unhappy while sitting here for my 8am appointment that they told me to come in 45 minutes early for. Only to tell me that they will be doing my ct scan at 8:45 now. Very inconsiderate of my my time and if I ever find myself here for imaging in the future I can assure you I will not be wasting my time and showing up early. However the staff I had the pleasure of dealing with were very pleasant and professional.
Maria Palmeri Martinez
I am speaking about the mega vaccination site for covid vaccines. It was very efficient. People were very kind and helpful. Someone from Meridian reached out to help me register for My Chart. I was very impressed.
Steve Adkins
My COVID-19 vaccination experience at the Meadowlands Racetrack/ Hackensack Meridian site was surprisingly quick and pleasant. On both occasions, the first and second vaccinations, the line up was orderly and the military personnel conducting the entry into the vaccination site were most courteous and efficient. The same may be said for all staff members I came in contact with. Each occasion took less than an hour which I found to be remarkable for a “Super Site”. You could tell that extensive planning went into the formulation of this site. Execution was superb.
Bob O'Grady
Did not have to wait at all in office for my appt. Staff was very caring and attentive to any of my personal needs. Dr. Simpson was very thorough and answered any/all questions that I had. He covered every aspect of my condition and was thorough in discussing my lifestyle and all medications required for treatment until next appt.
Christine Altieri
The first shot I waited well over an hour to get my shot. Many people came hours early and were ahead of me.
The second shot was much faster, in and out in 20 minutes.
Also, I had a problem with some little punk in a camouflage uniform. They suggested I wait 15 minutes before leaving and I declined (as I did last time with no incident). As I tried to walk around him he stepped in front of me, nose to nose, and said, "I said go in." Nose to nose in a covid 19 facility, not very smart, healthy or professional. My initial reactional was to push this this little over empowered punk off me, but for the sake of not making a scene I walked right through waiting area and out the other side. If this episode had escalated, you could be sure there would be lawyers involved.
Let me conclude by saying, with the exception of the punk, the second visit was a nice experience.
Thank you for all you do,
Dan Altieri

I went to the Megasite to get vaccinated. The first trip's experience for the first dose far exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so nice and accommodating especially for my 93 year old grandma who was with me.

Always have good experiences here, very impressed by their professionalism and efficiency. HUMC's reputation is so high from a medical proficiency standpoint, they could probably get away with less accommodating patient care, but they don't - they have always provided me excellent customer service. You can tell it is a high priority for them. Most likely the best hospital in NJ.
Mitchell Cantor
Hackensack Meridian is one of the best hospitals I have ever known. My wife and I received our COVID vaccines there, the staff was excellent, the entire experience was safe, organized, it is now our choice of hospitals when the needs arise
Jeff Biegel
Went to er in October met Eliot from transport who assisted me greatly as well as nurses and Drs.I was admitted for 5 days. The nurses on the fourth floor were so attentive and compassionate. They really took time to see how you were and the progress you were making. I thank them for loving their profession and not just doing it. It really came through.even Sal from housekepping and Anna from food service took time to smile and chat for a minute. They made my hospital stay much more bearable.
Valora Thompson
This was my first time at Hackensack Univ Med Ctr. Starting with Pre-Admission, everyone is very organized. I only stayed 2 nights but the staff were great. My room was very nice and big so my mom stayed with me. Everyone was very accommodating. The food is also good.

Everything was perfect when I delivered my baby, except for one nurse that was unprofessional for the IV in the recovery area. I told her that the IV spot was burning on my skin. The nurse never take a look about it. The IV wasn’t in the proper spot, also she didn’t know how to manipulate the IV machine because this one make two times one sound. So the same nurse wanted to change the IV to my other hand. After 4 times that she tried, I said to her was going on because I have good veins. The nurse when to another nurse who came to see if I really need to change the IV. However, the second nurse conclude that the first nurse should check the IV machine better than change the IV from my left hand to the right hand. Plus after two weeks I got a bump on the IV spot that stay there for another two weeks. If they don’t know how to use the IV machine, and they don’t know how to make the IV. They should call another person who has the experience instead of trying many times.

I say this with all due respect. But, I think some of you do not truly understand how hospitals work. What YOU may deem to be an emergency is not necessarily a health emergency in comparison to everyone else waiting. You think you understand why everyone else is there, but you probably don't. Having said that....I have spent the last 4 years in hospitals with my mom. These hospitals have been in Florida, Georgia and now HUMC. NONE of them are touching HUMC. NONE! Each time my mom was hospitalized, we never trusted the staff, so we slept in the room with her so we could monitor everything. I remember going to a hospital in Florida and having to tell the doctor (who was puzzled as to why she kept having a fever) that perhaps she needed to test for a UTI. Guess what she did? Tested for a UTI. Guess what she had? A UTI. We've had to monitor medications because of incompetence. A MESS. But, this has not been the case with HUMC. I trust them. Say what you will, but I brought her in on a Saturday and the ER was PACKED!!! Even still, we had a diagnosis and plan of action for admission in under three hours. And that included her having a CT scan, blood work, etc, etc, etc, and us having multiple conversations with the ER doctors. Say what you want.....but that's pretty darn good and exceeded my expectations. This place is cohesive and everyone is task oriented. But...everyone also seems to be happy. From the parking attendants to the janitors, everyone is smiling and most importantly, asking if they can assist. And, this is some of the best hospital food I've ever seen. Mom had arroz con pollo yesterday. That's incredible.

I have two adult handicap sons and everyone was great dealing with them. Made the whole experience less stressful. We received our vaccines at the Meadowlands Mega Center.

The nurses and staff were very kind-hearted and compassionate. Everyone was very accommodating from nurses to hospital staff. Mina who was my nurse was very caring and as well as Becky, Susana, Violet, Cindy and Yady. The service they gave was beyond exceptional.

Very Professional service with the patient's need is first. Good organization with empathy .and care. Equipped with the most technologically advanced equipment and tools. I would always recommend their services.

I went to the Meadowlands for my 2 Pfizer Covid shots. Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center ran the show and they could not have been more professional, buttoned up or caring. Everyone working there was churning through thousands of patients a day, but they were just so great! Even though I truly was a number to them, I honestly felt cared for, and looked after. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

Love everyone there. The receptions, nurses n drs all all kind n positive n always willing to help answer all ur questions. Bed side manner is a must for me when it comes to ur health n trusting the ppl that care for u. My only negative takes them a long sometimes to return calls.

Overall, I had a good experience giving birth to my first born son in this hospital. Postpartum, my experience was excellent. My nurses were attentive, the lactation consultant did her best to help my son and I get the hang of feeding, and my team of doctors did an excellent job taking care of my son and I despite complications that occurred during labor and postpartum. I was a complicated case as I had a twin pregnacy with a fetal demise that needed to be delivered. My reason for only 4 stars is the nurse I had for 12 hours of my labor. I had planned for a natural delivery without an epidural. The night shift nurse told me I needed to not move around so much because they could not monitor my son's heartrate. I was not permitted to get up unless I needed to go to the bathroom. I had previously been told that if the monitoring cables reached I could walk/pace and use my yoga ball. She would come in every so often and turn me telling me to stay on that side. She told me to stop making noises when I moaned during a contraction because "moaning wasn't going to help with the pain". Multiple times during the night she called my baby annoying because she was having trouble monitoring him. I ended up giving in to the epidural in the hopes that if I wasn't in so much pain during contractions, there would not be as much issue with monitoring the baby. During the administration of my epidural, she was charting instead of being there to support me through my fear of a needle going into my back and me possibly moving. I understood my husband could not be there for the procedure because it is sterile, but I could have used some support. After my epidural was put in, I overheard her talking to another nurse in my room about how she thinks she should be able to give up her other patients because I was requiring too much of her time. I eventually required an emergency csection and while I was in recovery and my husband and living son were in the nursery, shift change occurred. The night shift nurse decided to start report within earshot of me and complained about how difficult of a patient I was. She also expressed how annoyed she was that I wanted the child that didnt survive to have a death certificate and be treated as a stillborn. She said I was just creating more work for her and now it would take her hours to leave. I found her very unprofessional and I found it hurtful to be treated this way when I was in such a vulnerable condition. Lisa, the nurse that took over from her was amazing. She made sure I was okay, offered to let me spend time with my dead son, got me foot prints, arranged to have him blessed and attended the blessing. She even came up to postpartum to make sure I knew that the blessing was done and the priest would be up soon to speak with my husband and I.

I had my first baby girl in the center, and the experience was amazing. All the staffs are kind and well-trained, so they know what is needed at the appropriate timing. Amenity including food was good. They did not serve food family members, but that's not part of their service. Anyhow, I loved this place and strongly recommend to you.

My wife and I went to the Meadowlands for our Covid vaccines. The line to get in the building was handled much better the second time. Once we were inside the building, everything was handled extremely well and professionally.
Brian Stone
The staff was top notch and the hospital was like a hotel. You didn't feel as if you were in a hospital room at all. Clean, quiet, and Betty modern. I would recommend this hospital to anyone that has the unfortunate need to visit one as a patient.
Robert Sosa
One of the most organized facilities and friendliest staff that we have ever experienced. Mother was there for possible surgery so her anxiety and ours was quite elevated. The vibes we got from the staff, every bit professional and friendly, quieted and dispelled our fears. We knew we were being attended to by people who knew what they were doing. Thank you Dr. Stifelman for creating within your office and your practice a sense of trust and confidence. Mom walked out of your office knowing that everything was going to be all right.
From a son that wants to continue having her in his life.
Alison “DancingAlison4” O
Staff was very friendly and caring. 1 doctor was negligent with my text results and told me wrong unscholarly information about it. She jumped the guy before the speciality could weight in on the subject. It was a nightmare for me and my mom. She then later apologizing. After the the experience was A1. The specialist were more knowledgeable about my case and gave me more information of different outcomes.

Having a baby was my first time in a hospital. I was nervous but all the nurses and doctors were amazing. They were attentive and kind and didn’t mind taking the time to explain to me what they were going to be doing.

This hospital saved my life. I was on the waiting list for a kidney transplant in New York for 2 and a half years. I got on the list in Hackensack and in 6 months they called. I was their first transplant of the year 2020 and their first transplant to use a special machine to revive the tranplabted kidney and make it function. God bless this hospital and all their staff. God bless Dr. Goldstein who did the transplant on me.
kennedy okyere
I am really appreciative to all the staff at this Prestigious Hospital. My big thanks goes to the transplant team. My big thanks to Dr Michael Goldstein and Dr Patel.. The entire staff take their work seriously. I will recommend this Medical Center to anyone.
Francis Murgo
The staff was unbelievable. They were efficient but yet most accomadating. The Doctor went out of his way to help me understand the nature of my disorder, spoke in detail and in plain every day language. This is an extremely well run operation
Emmy Packard-Levine
The person performing my test was wonderful, explained everything. The individual who came to give me the results said "the radiologist says she doesn't know so reschedule a test in 6 months". No explanation. When they originally told me to come back they asked my doctor for a prescription for a biopsy which she could not do because there are so many kinds. What a confusing mess. Boy, have you changed!!!

I had the very best and caring Doctors and Nurses. The hospital is very clean and the meals are great. Hope i don't need your service soon. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RETURN IF NEEDED. tx to all for making my stay. Comfortable

I was recently diagnosed with a life threatening disease. I was in Hackensack University Medical Center for 7 weeks receiving treatment. I cannot express how FANTASTIC the entire staff was too me! From transport (from room to tests & treatments) to cafeteria, TV hookup , all of it .
The nurses aides, nurses in the Hematology/Oncology department were all outstanding, sympathetic & extremely professional!
I have never in my life received such wonderful care! I was extremely nervous when I arrived and the nurses & aides put my mind at ease EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY SEVEN WEEK STAY.
The food was delicious & nutritious.
I met with a nutritionist & have since learned how to stay on a low carb “diet” .
I received communion as I requested on a daily.
Thanks to the wonderful &’caring staff at HUMC my life has changed forever.
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
With all my love

I'm an EMT that works in medical transport and when we do a discharge from HUMC we are always met with a caring, extremely helpful staff. In fact far better than most other hospitals in the area. Also when I arrive there with my partner we've always noticed how good the nurses treat and care for the patient and, more often than not, how good patient turn out is. Another thing to note is how they form a kind of bond with their patient, which leaves a huge impression not only with patients but with us EMTs. So if you ask me, Hackensack is a good place to go for care and for any health needs. But I will have to be honest the ER could use some improvement, but other than that it's a great hospital.

i was very pleased with my second covid-19 vaccine appt. process was very efficient, personnel were personable, knowledgeable and efficient without rushing anyone w questions. there was a total of a 35 minute wait but very worth it.

I was brought into the ED by Ambulance and in distress. I was put on a stretcher in the middle of a room with at least 30 other patients on stretchers, no of whom appeared to be in distress like I was. It took quite some time before I was seen and was seen only after I declared that I was having a heart attack. This was a distress induced heart attack that could have been avoided had I been seen when I was brought in for a simple irrigation of a catheter. I should have never been sent home the night before with a catheter after presenting with a blood clot post surgery, several days before. I later found out that my doctor was never notified of the clot. Had he been notified, I would have been admitted and would not have suffered a heart attack which required 2 stents and 5 days of hospitalization.
I have consulted an attorney and plan on suing.

1. The associate at the front desk who asked the medications I am currently seemed annoyed that I did not give her a list but instead showed her a photo of the 3 bottles where she could write down the information She then stated she didn't need the info to which I insisted she write down.
2. The doctor who performed the biopsy on the growth under my left arm verbally expressed her annoyance that I reacted to the pain the procedure caused. She implied I overreacted and was being melodramatic. Turns out I have a cancerous tumor, which is probably why it was so painful. I felt she was very unprofessional in voicing her opinion in my presence and should have waited until I or she left the room.

Nobody likes going to or visiting the hospital. When my mom was admitted, she was given great care and the food was good too.
I would definitely recommend this hospital instead of others if you are in Paterson/Fair Lawn area.
