Reviews of The Queen's Medical Center
I brought my dad into the ER (we were in town visiting family) and we had a great experience starting in the ER all the way through discharge from the hospital. The nurses and aides were exceptionally caring and the doctors took the time to speak with us and answer all questions. Very pleased with our discharge plans back to our hometown.
The top notch staff at Queen's saved my life. In the space of a few hectic hours, I learned that I had a very serious thrombosis and was flown to Queen's from my home island. Once there I learned that I would require major surgery to root out all the clots that had split off from the main thrombus and ended up in my torso and legs. Both legs had to be amputated. I was alone until my son could fly over 2 days later, and I was anxious and frightened. The staff and doctors were wonderful. One nurse was impatient and rude during my whole stay. Considering the number of people working in such an enormous place, that is an excellent record. Anyone who has not had such a serious surgery can't imagine what the pain is like, let alone the grief and fear of facing life with no legs. My hope was as low as it has ever been, but there was such kindness and understanding shown to me by Dr. Kim, Dr. Koo and the entire team of caregivers that I just can't thank them enough.
Queens Medical Center is the Nicest hospital I've ever know! Kind and approachable nursing staff. And especially their manager Mark Nickel. Very accommodating and a hard working person! May God bless all of you and thank you for taking care of all the patients well. I highly recommend this hospital! 😇 …
I was transferred to the Queens emergency department from urgent care the other night. While I was initially hesitant with being sat outside next to the COVID isolation area, the workers were super nice and understanding when I chose to stand a good distance away from the actual seats. They even let my significant other stay with me the entire time! I was shocked, and ultimately very happy to not be forced to be alone.
That initial seating worst part of my experience here, and ultimately I can't blame them with COVID cases being on the rise again (early June 2022, boo).
From the start, my intake nurse was an incredibly kind women. I was very anxious that night (I really wasn't expecting to have urgent care tell me they wanted me at the ER), and she was super kind and patient. She got all of my information, and after I was seated in the hallway waiting for a room, she came back to the waiting area multi times to check on me and the other person who was under her care as we waited! She was so nice.
Once I was taken into a room, the story stayed the same. All of my nurses were super nice. They talked me through everything, they were patient with me despite me being very very stressed out from circumstances. My main nurse had a nice sense of humor and really helped calm my nerves just by being a really great guy. Ended up getting a CAT scan, and everyone involved with that was just great.
My doctor was the same way. Very nice, talked me through everything. Amazing experience.
Thankfully everything turned out being okay. ER visit was mostly for the imaging services, which thankfully ended up showing that things weren't as bad as they could be, and they got me out pretty fast after everything was read.
I came into the ER that night stressed and on the verge of an anxiety attack. The incredible nurses and technicians on duty that night helped me get through everything and calm me down. That was such a incredible staff, and my intake nurse even asked me how I was doing as I ws leaving! This is honestly the first time I have ever been to any ER and actually felt cared for and like I wasn't just bothering all of the staff. Thank you all.
I sincerely thank you for for all the wonderful Nurse and Doctor who took care of me, when I had my Cordoma brain tumor Operation in the summer of 1988
Nurse Aburi is the worst nurse at floor10 I've met ever. She is very rude and doesn't listen to patient and short temper. I hate her.
QMC Hospital is so lucky to have Mark Nickel as their Manager. He is very reliable, efficient, and a kind nurse.
Queen's Hospital has been there many times when I needed Her over the years. the most recent time when they saved my life due to indulgence of salt and sugar, and my life of living like i was still a teenager in my mid 60s...without naming names I want to thank the intensive care Nurses in the cardiac unit, the heart doctors that treated me and not least of all, the behind the scenes support staff in testing, finance, housekeeping, food service, and out patient care.
It has been my first extra year, and to the Queen's Medical Center, I want to say Mahalo from the bottom of my still beating heart
Mark Nickel did a great job and was always on time and positive. I highly recommend him for his knowledge, skill and attitude.
Just want to do a Shout Out to All the WONDERFUL Volunteers who gave up their Sunday at yesterdays Covid-Flu vax at Queens Hospital!! They even Spoiled Us w/bottled water, fresh baked cookies, n Ritz Peanut butter crackers!! Yum!! The line was long but it was So Worth the wait and it tells you the Community Need!! And I'm keeping all of my stickers!! Geez, what a big kid, Lol! With MUCH LOVE & APPRECIATION for ALL YOUR Kokua!! Verna Nonaka
P.S. years ago my dad was flown in by medivac after he suffered a heart attack on the neighbor island. Thanks to your wonderful Drs and staff, he lived for another 6 yrs!! I'll never forget your life saving efforts!! XOXOXO!!
I went to the emergency room today because I have recently been having a lot of overwhelming symptoms that are affecting my day to day life, and my PCP recommended I go to the ER if they persist or get worse before the specialist she’s referred me to is able to see me- and today brought me to them.
I just want to say thank you to Dr. Cheng for the level of care I received, and he’s one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. I have a poor genetic history of ailments in my family and the severity of the symptoms I’m experiencing, their frequency, how many at once have been affecting my day to day, and knowing my family history has caused a reasonable amount of stress and fear for me.
Dr. Cheng thoroughly listens to you, takes everything you say into account, and takes time to very thoroughly explain his processes and what certain things sounds like. He was nice enough to show me some stuff he was discussing with me on the computer screen so that I could both visually see and better understand what he was discussing. He went ahead and ordered a ct scan for me and other tests so we can start the process of elimination of what it could be. He was also kind enough to switch out medications that weren’t working for me, and to give me pain relievers that will last me until I am in the hands of the specialist. I trust his opinion and analysis, and am grateful he listened as well as he did and had those tests done because it really helped with my anxiety and narrowed down the pool of what could be causing my symptoms. This is definitely someone who was meant to be a doctor and work in healthcare. With the pain management and reduced anxiety, I feel a lot better waiting for my MRI scan at the end of the month and continuing further evaluation and care with the specialist team going forward.
I was also impressed with the minimal wait times I experienced. I came in in the middle of the day on a Monday and was promptly seen by everyone, and everyone was so so nice especially the older gentleman who sees you out with your prescription orders and paperwork, he is a funny guy.
I never think to leave reviews for anyone or anywhere but I did today because their care has helped me both physically with the pain, and psychologically with the amount of stress and fear I have been feeling. It’s a process of elimination and you eliminated a lot! Thank you!!
I gave birth here about a year ago and I was very pleased with everything. The room was nice and spacious. The nurses and Dr. were super kind and made me feel comfortable.
I went in for severe back pain. I received excellent care from Dr. Suzuki and the 2 male RNs working in the ER that night. Radiology did a good job getting me in within a timely manner for a MRI. Thank you to all for the great care. The only negative I can say is the hospital needs to be udated to include additional space as I never had a room and was on a bed or wheelchair in the hallway. If there was a disaster in the area this place would be out of ideas as on a regular day they are already overflowed into the hallways.
Sitting in Same Day Surgery Clinic and I must say that this is the friendliest visit to a hospital I have ever experienced. Not only have I been greeted 3x by various staff, I have listened to them all great each other with a smile and kind words. It is definitely appreciated in these hard times and it eases my nerves knowing there are happy people working here. Check in was easy and everyone is so filled with Aloha!
QMC is a great Hospital! I would also like to commend their hardworking nurse MARK NICKEL. He is an efficient and approachable nurse.
Debbie K.
The Doctors and Nurses were all nice and took good care of me. The Doctor came to see me everyday to see how I was doing. The Nurses were all nice and took good care of me. Whenever I needed something and pressed the Nurse bell they came fast to check in on me and helped me with what I needed. Every once in awhile they would stop by to see how I'm doing. I would tell my family no need to worry I am being well taken care of. If you want the best care Queens Hospital. You will be taken care with loving hearts and caring hands. I was...
QMC is the best hospital you have and you’re lucky to have MARK NICKEL, he deserves a raise. He’s kind and gentle and he really knows what he’s doing.
My son had an emergency appendix surgery and received excellent care from the medical staff. The doctor even called our home in South Carolina at 1:30am, Pacific time to share an update on my son's progress after the procedure . It is a comfort to know my child was in expert hands when our family was so far away. The nurses were so friendly and patient. The cafeteria food was much better than his typical college cafe food.
Over the years, many family members have been in & out of Queen's. There's good nurses & bad nurses & overall Queen is a good enough hospital.
The reason why I am giving 3 stars is because there were a few instances that left me bewildered and the hospital didn't own up bad conduct.
For instance, a couple nurse aides forcefully took my grandma's clothes off and left her standing in the room naked while they spoke Tagalog with each other -- completely oblivious they need to dress my Grandma. She was frail and fighting cancer.
Another time, my mom was in the ER. The doctor was extremely condescending. There's no need to speak to us like we're mentally challenged & then give us attitude for trying to clarify what we don't understand. If we were in the medical profession, we wouldn't need your help.
Then there are great experiences like the mammogram department & their colonoscopy department. Great caring nurses who aren't in a rush & extremely patient & understanding.
In conclusion: there's good & there's bad... May you get a good caring professional that day you need them.
Such a Great experience. QUEENS never fails in being the best on the Island.
Visited the sleep center today. They emailed me clear instructions on how to arrive. They gave 2 options for parking, provided information on validation and how to get to the main building.
2 elevators in the parking garage provide a fast and efficent way down to the 1st floor.
The 2 ladies that greet you at the temperature checj were so pleasant, i wore a material mask in and was provided a disposable as mines was not allowed. This made me feel very safe that everyone in the building had a good mask on. She gave me awesome instructions to get to Admissions.
Admissions had to sweet ladies, as i sat in the wait room and observed they have the best customer service. Providing extra care to the Kupuna. They assisted them in grabbing a number, slowing down when talking and one of the ladies walked a patient to his destination so he wouldnt get lost.
That alone is gold. I havent even made it to my appointment yet and im so pleased with my experience.
Queens, safe, positive, and full of Aloha.
When i think of Queens its the true Hawaii hospital.
I have been suffering from a knee injury. Dr. Murray did wonders. I walked out of Queens feeling little discomfort thinking it was the pain Meds, well guess what? Hours later at home I have not had to take anything for pain. I'm walking without that limp.
The whole staff in the Surgery Center, from checking in to leaving were friendly and comforting. A wonderful experience for something that could have been very stressful.
The not so good thing was when the nurse call for my ride, he couldn't wait the few minutes for me to get to the car. The valet instead of just asking him to circle around, he was told to leave all together. Good thing my ride ignored him and stayed back until he saw me. Maybe somehow upon discharge the name of the patient should show up on a screen so things might move better.
I woild like to thank the ewa campus for saving me and stabilizing me enough to go to punchbowl campus. I wanted to saythat the nurses and staff that i had the pleasure of being cared for and i do mean care is very respponsive and top notch. They will givecyou the attention to get better and who said hospital foid was junk i beg to differ their heart heathy meals were better than some food outside . My team of dotors all were well on tge same page and i fel tthat more confident . Dyalysis staff was really friendly and knew how. Yo make my procedure pass quickly. And then to the release nurse whu did an awsome job at making sure my paperwork was fonsed and my meds were ordered.
Thank you for a job well done
Sincerly Earl a Serame
Valet was great - friendly and professional. Grateful for the reminder to get validated.
TIP - For any wheelchair w/ transporter request, you need to build in some serious time to wait for it, though. Understandably so...but just be prepared for it, time wise, for your appointments scheduled.
Overall, hospital staff friendly and don’t forget to get validated!
I slipped and fell in the early morning and cut my lip while falling and went to Queen's ER to be treated. My experience at Queen's ER was exceptional. From the Security Guard to the Admitting nurse to the Intake Nurse to the Nurse's Aid to the Physician Assistant Jamie to Doctor Chung-Esaki and from the Discharge Nurse, everyone was caring, professional, considerate and personally concerned about my condition. They realized that I did not really want to be there and they tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible, although they were very busy with other emergencies. I am now recovering well from my fall and deeply appreciative of the professional and attentive care that I received. Thank you Queen's ER!
My experience at their Women’s Health Center was wonderful. They have a cosy waiting area and their reception was always prompt in checking me in. I want to specially thank Dr Mark Green for explaining all that I wanted to know and being compassionate and caring. His technician, Jeanette was the same way too putting me at ease throughout the entire process of the procedure. So blessed to have an awesome team that care and love their job. It shows in their work!
The ER was extremely busy when I first showed up. However all the nurses were extremely nice and helpful. The nurses here are sweet and caring. I would totally recommend coming here if you need to go to a hospital.
I've had two successful surgeries done at Queens, one shoulder replacement in 2008, and the other last month, 2016, an emergency spinal surgery. I felt the surgeons did an excellent job and the nurses and aids were extremely kind and compassionate. The food was even excellent-- ordered off an attractive menu, no less! I actually wished I could stay longer! Who gets service like this at home?
My 89 year old mom was sent to Queens ER today. Turns out nothing serious. Kudos to ER staff dr. Thompson. Celeste and Will for their compassionate handling of someone with severe dementia and for releasing her so quickly.
Never been treated better. Was a paramedic in Calif, been to/worked with at least 50 hosp in my career, personally treated in approx 10.
Queens had the best of everything. Went there for surgery. Everyone from valet to nurses and drs kind courteous and treated me like a person instead of a number or just another pt.
Highly recomended!
Flew over from Big Island for surgery and got nothing less than A-1 care from everyone I had contact with. All nurses and staff were considerate, kind and helpful. I am a big wuss and never once felt like I was bugging them with my needs - which were attended to promptly. When I had to change flights, the social worker there even helped with a waiver of charges for the flight change. Although I didn't eat much, the menu looked fabulous :-) Nothing but good things for the staff on the 9th floor of Ewa Bldg. Thank you all.
This hospital is amazing, my wife went into acute respiratory distress at the airport as we were leaving our honeymoon trying to board the plane for Alabama and Dr Itoman and Dr Valdez a long with other doctors, profusionists and all the nursing staff went far above what most people would trying to save her life. Their kindness, extensive medical knowledge and devotion truly is a blessing from God. If you come here you can know that you or your loved one is in great hands!!!
Best hospital and staff. Very knowledgeable personnel. Thumbs up 👍 …
The hospital staff was great. Problem came when its 9pm and there is no one at the desk to validate my parking card. Then I had to walk all the way back to the ER at night alone to get it stamped. The price difference was $5(validated) or $16(not) ugh!! Not cool!
Good hospital, doctors and staff are helpful and friendly.
I was in Florida with my sister from Hawaii. She was visiting. Her husband was rushed to the hospital with an aortic dissection. The staff was so helpful, calling us and updating us on the progress. The doctor, although I don't know him is amazing!. My brother-in-law was given a ten percent chance of making it through the surgery. Seven or Eight hours later we got the call. He made it! I want to thank everyone at Queen"s hospital who is taking care of my brother-in-law . Thank you for the work you do!
Many Blessings
Leslie Brown
The good is the beautiful grounds and majority of helpful and caring nurses in the women's clinic and cancer center. ER the few times I was there was good care. The bad is the parking (why can't they build a large parking structure so the employees don't have to flood Makiki and ruin the residents situation?), bad experiences with not enforcing the two guest rule in admitted patient rooms, unprofessional orderlies talking personal stories when patients are in earshot, and some male oncology doctors that don't have the greatest bedside manner. You can't win them all.
Craig K.
Thank you Queen's E.R. and Hospital for the excellent care I received.
Thank you E.M.S. and H.F.D. for everything you all did to care for me from home to Queen's E.R.
All the Doctors, Nurses and everyone who took all my test. All of you were nice and took good care of me. Thank you.
I want to thank all the Doctors that did my heart surgery.
Dr. Tsai thank you for helping me thru scary and not knowing what going happen. You took time to come see me everyday to explain what's going on and what will be going on next. It made me feel less scared. Also coming to see me before and after surgery. I was happy to see you in your office for my after surgery check up. Thank you. I really appreciate everything you did for me.
Thank you Dr. Benerjee for coming to see me to see how I was doing.
I am happy when I heard you will be taking care of me for my check ups.
Dr. Peter Wai thank you for taking care of me while I was in the E.R. till the day I was discharged. Thank you for being there for me thru my scary times making me feel better talking to me. For coming to see me everyday. Also for keeping my family informed about my health. I really appreciate everything you did for me. Thank you.
Thank you
Best hospital on the island highly recommend Dr.Reid Hoshide neurosurgeon honestly the best most compassionate person you will ever meet in the medical feild. He saved my friends life.
As an inpatient, the food is good and the staff competant. It is hard to get rest since your vital signs, weight measurement, blood tests etc. are not coordinated and you are constantly being awakened for one reason or another.
Likewise, the same conditions apply as an outpatient. For a single appointment you are reminded by email, cell phone messages, and recorded and live cell phone calls which is harassing.
Amazing care, amazing people. They are dedicated to your health needs. We are from the Big Island. Nurses, Doctors and staff were courteous and helpful. Made u feel right at home during our stay here. Aloha.
Queen's ER is dark & foreboding. The staff are automatons, limited to spartan response. You get but enough to question perception.10 hrs I spent, many alone in a disused room. no light; no communications. Then, deliverance. In Oncology, the nurses are butterflies - quiet, gentle, buoyant joy. Perfection lives: it's found in relief. That's what I got. The doctors are an elusive & curious link between the two worlds.
Queens is the Level One Trauma center on Oahu. The care that is provided is absolutely top notch. We have had to use this hospital on two separate occasions 4 years apart. Each experience was very good. The people at this hospital work with Aloha. Highly recommended.
While vacationing in Hawaii in late June, I stepped on a sea urchin. After one day, I decided I needed to have it examined and went to Queen's ER. Compared to other needs, this was a minor ER visit. Nonetheless, the staff gave me a thorough examination and were incredibly kind, efficient and effective. Beyond this, all personnel that attended to me had great personalities, with a proper sense of cheeky humor which I loved.
Outstanding! Dr. Tikhonenkov, our urologist, performed surgery very skillfully, any interaction with staff of any kind, including non medical personnel was gracious and kind. Medical attention was very consistent and personable, patient's family member can stay in a cot for free in a private room, patients and family can order meals in house from a menu, good follow-up after care with phone calls. Nurse managers checking in with the patient to make sure everything is going well, nurses going the extra mile. Plus, the lobbies and waiting rooms, eateries, and traditional décor, are unlike any hospital in the US that I know of. Much culture and honoring, respect, etc done with true Aloha that perhaps can only be found in this particular way, in Hawai'i. If you have to have surgery, Queens is the place to go!
Queen's Medical Center Hospital is a level 4 trauma location they have advanced life support a very busy helipad. Queens is a teaching Hospital this means that there are a lot of people working here and they evaluate all conditions entirely there are a lot of lives saved here on a daily basis.. I can attest to this I have been impatient now for 6 days and they are saving my life..
I am a tourist from Las Vegas. I came to Hawaii for a vacation with relatives. There was a big fight that broke out and left my family member in the Trauma room. They took great care of him and also treated us and the patient with the upmost respect. This is by far one of the greatest hospital I've ever been in.
Spend 8 days at this hospital, however could not properly recover due to constant interruptions from staff or half dozen doctors coming in and out almost all day long. It's reputation isn't justified at all. However hospital staff are very nice and caring, building itself is old.
My husband was medevac'd to Queen's from Hawai'i Island with a near-fatal brain aneurysm. Miraculously, Dr. Sung Bae Lee was able to repair it with a coil, and hubby is now 90% his old self.
He spent two weeks in QMC Neural ICU, where he received excellent care from Dr. Lee, Dr. Cherylee Chang, and a terrific staff of caring, skilled nurses and therapists. Even though he was intubated for two weeks, they somehow got to know him and communicate with him, and help him heal to the point where he could safely transfer to Rehab Hospital of the Pacific.
QMC is beautiful, a bit meandering, but not too bad if you follow the signs. They have a very good cafeteria with a salad bar, hot food line, and made-to-order items, and a convenient coffee shop in the Lobby. There are places to sit outdoors and take a breather, however after - I think - 8 p.m., you can only exit through the doors by the ER, and if you go outside, you won't be allowed back in.
FYI, it's cold in the hospital, especially ICU, so take a sweater.
Beautiful hospital and grounds! Only criticism is the place is like a maze! Signage doesn't help enough to let you know where you are and how to exit. So many different elevators! And the parking structure also doesn't have enough signage telling you which way to more parking and which way to EXIT!!
Our overall experience for my stay at Queens was outstanding! My surgeon, Dr. Vincent Nip is just the BEST! Dr. Pangilinan was most optimistic and reassuring. My Anesthesiologist, Dr. Yoshida brings calm to patients who is going in for procedures. Thank you so much Doc's for your care.
The nursing staff on Pauahi 7 is incredible!! Thank you so much Nua, Leilani, Malia, Valli, Erica, Kelsie, Josh, Stu, Moani and all the other nurses that assisted in my care. I'm sorry, a little mental blurp on remembering everyone's names. Thank you for your nurturing touch, Laughter!!:-)and more. What an amazing performance!
To all the other departments, Concierge, Room Service, IV team, Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc. Thank you and great job!
One last thing, you never left my room without asking, "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
Impressive!!
Mahalo Nui Aloha!
Cameron & Jacque (patient) Hiro, Molokai
Queen's Hospital is our big hospital. Like many hospital, incremental building additions overtime make it difficult to navigating through the hospital. I really mean navigate when you're inside the hospital. If I have to give direction:
"From the parking structure, you take the elevator to street level, walk through the promenade, through the entry lobby. Here the volunteer reception can give you directions to your destination. Emma tower is where I usually go and visit patients. You can continue to walk pass the gift shop, tunnel through the hallways, keep left or follow the arrows on the ground or the overhead sign and there you are, the Emma tower elevators.
I like Queen's since there is more room in the patients room and I don't know, I just think people get well faster if they have some breathing room.
I was at Queens for 2 wks w my mom, my brother is with her now. My time there, was good. All the nurses, nurses aides, doctors, food delivering svc, cleaning crew, etc,... were very caring, informative, very helpful. I give it to them, for all that they do. We all have our gifts. May God bless you all in all that you do. Aloha from Texas!!!!!!
We got our covid vaccination today at the Blasidell today and I was amazed how well organized everything was. It was a pleasant experience. To all of the staff working there, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I am currently going through Mohs cancer surgery and reconstructive surgery. All of my surgery and recuperation has been at Queens Medical center with Dr. Boyer for my Mohs surgery and Dr. Alam for my Reconstructive surgery. The doctors and their personal staff have been wonderful in all aspects during this very difficult time in my life.. Also all of the staff at Queens Hospital continue to be so professional and truly caring and kind...Bravo to a well trained group of Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Queens. I cannot say thank you enough.
I go to the clinic. And you basically see a student doctor. That goes and gets another doctor to confirm if it is the right choice and decision. I did get medication I needed but they offered to do dermatologist for me but instead retracted saying that I wouldn't need one cause they would give me same medication ways. And they said if my skin got worst to come back for stronger medications. Hmm I just think that a dermatologist would have more answer on skin probs like ezcema. I was already in bad mood which could alter this review but when you tell a patient that symptoms will always come back why couldn't you write the recommendation and help me out for the long run instead of getting me to come back again. I dont really like this clinic but it's close...and I dont like being weighed. In the lobby with other patients. Also sometimes other patients just have b.o... And whenever I uber the front of the hospital is always packed and annoying to get picked up.
Had back surgery at Queens in 1980 it was a good
It takes so long to get medical attention and then nearly 20 hours latter results. I understand short staffed so be aware and patient and know you will wait.
When my gran-pa visited Hawaii from Japan, he suddenly started suffering from chronic chest pain. All of his local friends recommended Queen's medical center as No.1 in Oahu. Doctors treated him quite nicely, and performed several cardiac examination, then they revealed his disease to be a reflux esophagitis. We were making a fuss about trifles. After that, gran-pa had trust in this medical center.
He also had another problem. He was diagnosed as rheumatism and had suffered from severe joint pain. Japanese prestigious doctors couldn't cure his pain so he thought to consult a rheumatologist in Queen's medical center. Dr. Ken Arakawa cast a quick glance at his hand joints, and asked him a few questions, then diagnosed that this was not rheumatism but polymyalgia rheumatica. Doctor gave one steroid injection to his butt, and it diminished his long-term pain.
I remember a while, while back when there was an awesome cafe that had club sandwhiches that wete great ! Their cafeteria was like a restaraunt. Let us not forget that they have a valet parking, for those who juat won't drive around for parking. They have always been great, I'm talking about when we were there for my young sisters birth in the early 90's to my daughters birth in 01. We made a decision to make sure it was here, that our daughter was born. The staff is honestly caring, & very professional.
staff ranges from pretty nice to very nice, and the grounds are lovely. but ive been twice in 11 years. my question is, why so slow? the first visit was for myself. dental pain. i was put in a room away from
others so my crying wouldnt disturb. time till i was helped? 8 1/2 hrs. the second visit was with a friend. broken neck. time till she got helped? 9+ hrs. also, toward the end, when she was tired, each staff coming to do something (not always important) said "just do this last thung and then we'llletyou sleep till the surgeon gets here." nope. about every ten minutes, from
around hour 3, staff woke her. sometimes just to say "hi, my name is..."
my atay was 12 days. I had the most compassionate nurses and residents ever. Never fun ro be hospitalized but they made it easier to endure.
I get my injections there every 3 months love the staff they send a card n all sign it!
I was born and raised in Queen's. I still remember the original coffee shop they had the best club sandwich and the best potatoe salad with a strawberry shake. Going though corridors under and though walls at Queens. The wooden wheel chairs, and yes we race them which was follow with a ear tug by my MOM. We lived right behind the hospital across the original nurses housing. So how can't my MOM not know. My first hula show in front the the banyan tree ,I think that use to be where the emergency was??? My best memory was My Father who was the first Filipino to work on the 4th floor. Now this was the 60's ,you know what was done there???? In his wing, no one was Alive?? His name is Jose "Joe" Caban. My name Charlette A. P. Kealoha. P. S. My first job which came with pride not $ was a candy striper. I think they should bring that back, for when people sees that uniform their smile lets us know that they are proud of the youth of Queen's Hospital. Mahalo to the Past and President people of my life.
Queen's Medical Center on Punchbowl St has been around for over two and a half centuries ago, give or take a few years. And it's not stopping for nobody. It also has physician's offices located in near and around for your consideration and convenient. Almost everything you need.
I got the vaccine this am and was so impressed with the Queens staff. It was easy and I just wanted to say that everyone did a great job. congratulations and thank you!
Every time we have been to Queens, the staff and doctors were caring, kind, professional.
This place has been here for so many years helping people from all walks of life. So grateful to the staff from the E.R. to the Hospital side. All ths Doctors, Nurses, and the rest of the staff for your hard work!!
4 stars because nobody’s perfect but I just wanted to say my experience was great everybody was nice and professional. And I just wanted to say thank you for what you all do especially during these trying times.
I highly recommend QMC. The staffs are nice and they have good facilities.
Got into a moto accident. Fractured my shoulder blade, 3,4 ribs, and broke my ankle. They took great care of me and got me up and walking in 3 days. Definitely recommend.
To my "heroes" at Kamehameha 3,
When I was at my worse, you were at your best in taking care of me
I got better because of your caring, kindness, concern, laughter, cheer and just being there
Yes, the meds and surgery helped but without you, I would have healed slower
May God bless each and every one of you for being my "angels"
Love,
Debbie

Alas, due to an accident on the beach, they admitted me to this hospital and thanks to the insurance that covered all the expenses, I was able to experience the professionalism and humanity of the doctors and nurses. Even though I was far from home and being a tourist, they were close to me and helped me in every way.
Excellent service and the attention they give you, thank you very much to all
