I have been coming to Manakai O Malama for close to 8 yrs now for my pain management and if it weren't for PA Scott Acree, I would be either very ill or dead. I started out strickly dealing with my pain management, but Scott noticed other unmentioned issues in my chart, mainly high blood pressure. After several visits for pain, he decided to dig deeper. Well, because my blood pressure was not being managed by my PCP at another facility, Scott decided he would deal with it. After several blood test, it was determined that I was in stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease or CKD. This is one step above Diaylsis. He started me on blood pressure meds IMMEDIATLY, but the damage was done. He refered me to the best Nephrologist Dr. Tasaki which he took over my kidney care. My kidneys have now stablized. Also Scott did not like my cholesterol and triglyceride results. He put me on meds for this also. Now my numbers are like a 20 yr old. Scott continued to research my issues and continued to make things right. I am also grateful for Margie, as she always deals with any of my med issues or problems getting my meds. She understands how important meds are and goes out of her way to make things right. She does not wait around to be told what to do, SHE GETS IT DONE. With all this said, again Scott saved my life and my quality of life. Margie, well lets just say, she gets things done. ALL the staff are wonderful, but these two are my life savers. I want to add also the new staff member Kayla at the front desk. Whenever I call to speak to an individual, she does not just pass my phone call on to an empty office with an answering machine, BUT actually gets up and goes to look for the individual and makes it happen. Now, if I need anybody and she does not answer the phone, I will request to speak to her first. Thank you Kayla.

My husband was recommended a Urologist from Queens which failed to make contact with us. After a few weeks of suffering Margerie called to check up on us. After hearing the referred Urologist didn’t get back to us, she quickly referred a Urologist from Straubs which we immediately received a response and appointment. Hats off to Margeries genuine concern and quick thinking we were able to receive excellent service from the best Urologist from Straub ( Dr. Chinn). Thank you so much Margerie for going above and beyond. ~A Johnston

The Staff at Manakai are top notch. They are curtious The Doctors are personable and always do their best to make me feel heard and understood. They offer so many services from PT, Massage and acupuncture all of which I have been a recipient of. Highly recommend.

II called to arrange a "new patient" appt and the girl was so kind, patient and understanding to my needs. She made an appointment in the next day or so. It was my very first appt and the front end was very welcoming. I was called in right away and Roxanne was great, but at the end I was rushed out but I had told her I had a couple of other concerns, but she said we can talk about it on the next visit a week later. I don't like feeling rushed to leave, but I'll give it another try when I go back this week. By the way, how long can a visit be? I believe I was there in the room for maybe 10- 15 minutes top. 🤔

The doctors that I have worked with at Manakai O Malama have been great. I have recommended them a few times to relatives and friends. The administrative staff sometimes seems to be a bit overwhelmed, so, for example, you may need to follow up more than once by phone on questions or prescription requests. But for me, it's been a good experience overall.

My husband and I have been getting our medical needs met at Manakai o Malama since 2009. The medical staff is courteous and professional, and the waiting area is spacious and comfortable. The doctors and physician assistants take the time and trouble to make sure you know what is going on with your health and have appropriate medication. We appreciate the ability to make appointments online or by phone. The only thing missing is the ability to pay bills online. Five stars isn't enough.

I (and my family of 4) have been going to Malama since we moved back home to the islands 10 years ago. As a single Mother of 3 boys you can imagine how often we must get medical care or advice for "something". ;) Scott Acree in particular is our PA - it is because of Scott we still go there. He takes time to listen, and even will answer personal texts (which I RARELY try to do) to make sure we are ok or getting the medical care we need. My kids love him too! I have been wanting to write a review for some time now and finally taking the time to do this as I know how important health care is right now. Love all the doctors and nurse practitioners here! They listen, really listen, and then ask questions—the ones that lead us to the real root problem. I do my homework and I’m an out-of-the-box thinker. So, I’m always impressed how these practitioners exceed my expectations, and how much I learn from them! Aside from their brilliant East-meets-West knowledge, they are kind and well schooled at making sure we are calm and content before we leave the building.

Manakai O Malama is a really great medical practice. I really like that they will provide you with both western and eastern medicine or natural options if you request these from the physicians. They also usually have a wide range of specialists on staff all right in the same place so that you don't have to go to another place for every little thing (e.g. physical therapists, psychologists, physician's assistant for woman's exams, etc.). Lastly, the aesthetics of the place are very calming and pleasing for a doctors office: there's a little water fountain, plants, art on the walls, wood features etc.) It's much more comfortable than your average doctor's office. Love this place, give them a try if your looking for warmer experience with contemporary and alternative thinking.

I have been seeing Dr. Zunin for 13 years and recommend anyone who needs a doctor... To see Dr. Zunin and his amazing team. Thank you for always caring for me and my family! I absolutely love this office. Front desk is always friendly, Dez and Chaz are fantastic. They always greet you with a smile and remember the small things in life to ask about your family. Dr. Scott couldn't be more caring and has a great sense of humor. Hillary is dedicated to making sure all angles are covered in PT and has your best interest at heart. They can generally get you in for an appointment very quickly if need be. I've never had better or more personal care from a healthcare team.

From the moment I stepped into the office of Dr Ira Zunin accompanying my girlfriend Wendy for her appointment, I immediately wanted to have Dr Zunin as my doctor too. The feeling here is one hard to describe in words. Peaceful, comfortable, and caring are the vibes. And not just from Dr Zunin but the other doctors and staff too. I never experienced a doctor who truly cared, truly wanted to see me healthy in the best way suited for me until I met Dr Zunin, his beautiful wife Alia who does acupuncture here and the others members of the Manakai O Malama Ohana. Like a tailor sewing a perfect fitted suit, I feel like this place was made just for me.

"Scott" PA is great. Super nice, informative, professional, caring, prompt. The other doctors there... Meh. Had a first appt set with one I can't even remember his name and I was 10 min late and he left for lunch, so my appt was cancelled. I understand everyone needs to eat but either tell front desk you won't take patients during a certain time or cut them a little bit more slack seeing we have to wait up to 30 minutes past our appt because YOU are running late. If it wasn't for Scott I'd be changing offices 100%. Scott Acree, PA 5 stars, other physician 1 star...

This is a hidden gem among health care facilities. More often than not, the resolution of a medical condition requires several different practitioners who are capable of working together to bring about the best possible results for patients. Here's a classic example. I suffered from PTSD and was living on adrenaline for a two year period. My brain and body were stuck in fight or flight mode and it wrecked havoc on me. I worked with an occupational therapist to help me change destructive habits, a psychologist to help me talk through and resolve the trauma, a nutritional therapist who helped me figure out how to replenish my depleted body and an acupuncturist to help calm my nervous system and allow it to remember its normal firing patterns. In four months, I felt my body shift from being an adrenaline junkie to normalcy. I was considering enrolling in the sleep study lab to address chronic insomnia but didn't need to go there. I had some residual issues with my body that were resolved through their in-house PT program. Dr. Levy has become my primary care doctor since he joined the staff a few years ago. I'm warming up to the idea that he is actually a brilliant diagnostician and a very wise and competent physician. When I trust his judgement, even though I have grumbled at times, wondering if he was actually listening to me, I am generally surprised to discover that his advice proves quite fruitful. I'm very happy with this place. It's comforting to know that so many medical issues can be addressed and resolved through their comprehensive and integrated programs. The office is centrally located with plenty of parking in the garage. The facility is very pleasant and welcoming. The wait in their comfortable reception area is generally short. It's a very popular and well liked facility, therefore phone calls might not be answered when the front desk gets busy. Call back; it's well worth the extra effort it occasionally requires to get through to one of their friendly receptionists.

I've visited Manakai O Malala for over 12 years and have seen many different MDs, PAs & PTs & APs MTs & NPs...and of course Dr.Zunin. I must say...it is so hard to even see Dr.Zunin at his clinic now a days...but he has the best PA, Scott Acree who I truly recommend to see instead ....if anyone wants to come here. Scott's shown me his well experienced knowledge in medical field ,very sincere ,easy to talk to,and open to discuss about any medical related issues that I've had in the past. Frankly speaking, Scott is the reason why I still come to Manakai O Malama!!

I got a good peaceful feeling when I entered and I believe in holistic and integrated medicine. I have always had Kaiser and always had a naturopath. The best of both worlds but I'll be changing to a different insurance since HMSA will allow pcp to be a naturopath. I'm hoping I will stay with them Staff is friendly and warm. When you are I'll or worried that makesakes a big difference. I currently arranging care with them.

I would like to go back there. I really liked my psychologist that I was seeing. He was very on point. The nurses was friendly. There were some not so nice people. They could've been a bit more tactful when dealing with people with chronic pain. Other than that they were ok.

How can I put this..... THESE PEOPLE SAVED MY LIFE. Period. Forget INTEGRATED, its more like SYNERGISTIC. Captain Zunin the MASTER CHEMIST carefully guiding my recovery. Youngster OPUNUI is a Naturopath WIZARD. Got me OFF everything and ONTO good sleep, lower weight and RECOVERY. Dr. Aimee McCullough is the BEST shrink I have ever had and trust me, Ive had DOZENS. The MA's are fabulous too. Nemphe my favorite. So sweet! IF YOU NEED A PLACE LIKE THIS run, and I mean RUN. I am clean for first time in 13 years and lost 100lbs to boot. I am happy, amazed and have CHANGED MY PCP to The Master: Dr Ira Zunin.
