Can't say enough good things about Mary Freebed. The nurses and physical therapists and Dr are so amazing. I got the treatment I needed to be able to walk. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for me. Matt and Jessica were the best. They always made sure I had everything I needed, and made me feel very comfortable. You guys are the best. Thank you so much. Brandon Beimers.

My father was here for 6 weeks for rehab after a stroke. The healthcare team here is very flexible and did everything possible to make him and my family feel comfortable. Dr. Daniel Fechtner handled my father’s case with the utmost compassion, knowledge, and sensitivity. He and the entire team is very hard working, quick to accommodate patient requests, and have the patient’s best interests in mind. Mary Free Bed provided all the support and education my family needed to care for a stroke patient at home. Without Mary Free Bed, my father may not have had much time after the stroke. They are very caring and generous people. I have immense respect for the whole team at Mary Free Bed and they provide the best environment for recovery.

Developed an ulcer under my BKA prosthesis just before my wife was do home following same-day hip replacement. We are in our eighties and live otherwise alone. A wonderful Prosthetist at your Lansing office made adjustments and got me back on my feet "just in time"....Many Thanks! Wife (retired CRNA-Sparrow) doing very well too!

This place is exceptional, I will say at least in the Grand Rápids MI area. Everyone working here is perfect for their job. 👍 …

My mother in law 81, had a bad fall with severe head injury and fracture pelvic. We are still here, she gets discharged on Tuesday. But I have nothing but great things to say about this place, she has physical, occupation, and speech therapy throughout the week, physically shes much better still working on the memory, but in due time I have faith she will be just fine. The only downside is the couch in the room for family that stays with the patient, very hard to sit in for round the clock and sleeping is even worse.

My husband was there for 12 days after a major Whipple Surgery for Pancreatic Cancer and lost 12 lbs.
He had worked very hard with his therapist in our town to be strong enough to have this surgery after Chemotherapy.
He declined medically to the point where he had to be returned to Butterworth Hospital due to malnutrition and dehydration.
This facility is well equipped for patient with physical mobility and strength issues but they do not have a doctor on staff to monitor the side effects and medical needs of patients after major surgeries.

In 1989 I spent 9 months the first time in there and 3 months the second time I was shot in the head when I was 13 I was told I would be a vegetable for the rest of my life not being able to move no more then I was and that was barely moving my right index finger and leg Dr's said said I would go there for a short time and then to a long term foster care facility but I kept getting more mobility as time went on so they kept me there and in time had me moving and setting up by myself I loved this place they cared about there patients

Top notch facility from top to bottom! Ots and Pts were awesome. Nurses and nurse techs were generally outstanding! Dr. Vandenberg is a stand up and honorable doctor. One of the best I've ever had. Food was terrific with many things made from scratch! I'd highly recommend this facility. They always seemed to be on top of things. I wish I could have stayed longer to optimize my recovery, but insurance limits that. The facility is beautiful and staff seemed to know and care about patients. Great place!

After my car accident, went to Mary Free Bed for outpatient rehad. Received excellent care & treatment.
After a long hospitalization, a few years later, I knew Mary Free Bed was the best place to go! Couldn't walk, talk, use my hands and my mind just wouldn't cooperate after being in a coma state for so long.
Mary Free Bed arranged for my transfer from Butterworth to their facility. After 3+ weeks at Mary Free Bed, in hospital rehab/PT, all issues were resolved.
The staff was excellent, worked together and their patience with me was beyond comprehension (I was the impatient one).
Continued outpatient rehab/PT at Mary Free Bed, again so happy with the care and treatment I received and the concerns they showed to my husband and family.

Moved here from Houston Texas just nine months ago to finish raising my last two boys I was born with cerebral palsy and now recovering from a spinal operation at this awesome place and incredible staff Mary free bed rehabilitation hospital has helping me get back on my feet developing strenth and balance and how to do many daily skills as a single dad to survive and surpass this trial and the many trials I've overcome in life that God continues to put in my life building the man I am now I will strive to become a pillar of this West Michigan community in hopes to help others in the passing forward doing unto others as you would like to done to you what I live by day n night I hope to comeback to this hospital as a volunteer and mentor. As I've raised seven kids three that weren't even mine biologically and raising two boys on my own now with no direct family of my own here in grandrapids Michigan and missing my family in Houston Texas but this is where God has placed me and here is where I'll strive to better my self.

This is for their valet specifically. The kid at valet today around 3:30 (younger guy, mixed, tall hair) was so super nice and very helpful (lifting in an 86lb wheel chair, no problem). I had been having a bad day and his politeness and helpfulness made me smile. I don’t know his name and haven’t seen him before but he was awesome!! Thanks for making my experience better.

Mary Free Bed is full of Healers. Over a lifetime of sports injuries and Ehlers-Danlos related repetitive injuries I have seen MANY practitioners and Physical Therapists; Mary Free Bed is the Gold standard by which I hold all my Doctors to. Their programs are unique, innovative, and all inclusive. The staff are kind and inviting. The Physical Therapy programs use some of the most cutting edge interventions and protocols while simultaneously makeing them individually relevant to the Client and their abilities session by session. The level of Compassion and understanding that the clinical staff and the Human Resources (phone calls & schedueling) Departments have is unmatched. If ever I need to reschedule I know that as fellow members of the Divergently Abled community, there will always be some on staff who understand what barriers I may be up against. Mary Free Bed is a Shining Star of Hope and Renewal and I am greatful that they are a part of MY journey to health a wellness. I know that they will walk beside me along the way and if I can't walk, they will help carry me until I can.

My grandma spent 2 weeks here recovering and rehabbing from an injury. She has been out now for 2 weeks and at her new home, she's 97 years old. She really enjoyed her time here and all the activities she did in the short stay. She is so proud of her paintings done at one of the activity sessions and saved a little book of the menus and timelines so she won't forget. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful facility to care for our loved ones. The place is clean, well staffed and secure without feeling intrusive. They make it easy to be a visitor yet make the residents feel safe. great job 👍

The staff are very helpful and friendly. They seem to enjoy their job in helping others. My rehab is going well as can be expected and I look forward to going every time because they are helping me to heal.

My husband was at MFB for 1.5 weeks. They are the reason he is progressing wonderfully. Every staff member was positive, happy, encouraging and pleasant!

I originally wrote a review voicing my concerns about not being able to get in contact with someone. I have since heard back from Amy and Dr. Worthington, and I want to reiterate that everyone at Mary Free Bed has been so warm and welcoming to my family. I wasn’t aware of the lengthy process that comes with ASD/Language Disorder intervention. Maybe this was explained to me (which is very possible), and I do appreciate Amy and Dr. Worthington reaching out to me to update me on my daughter’s therapy. My previous review wasn’t meant to be malicious in any way. I truly have had a great experience with everyone there and I just really want to get my daughter the help she needs ASAP.

I'm about to be discharged this Saturday December 1st 2018. This place is excellent I am so satisfied with the care I have had here. All the staff is excellent they really care about there patients. When you make improvements the get as excited as you do. I live in Arkansas if I ever need this kind of rehab if I could get here I would. Keith

Everyone has been so nice and accommodating, even patient with my sister. lol We had a very bad experience before getting her settled in here, this has been a great place for her to be. Going in for brain surgery, then stroke, then getting paralyzed on one side...is a lot for any family and Mary Free Bed has helped with the unlimited questions we have and we feel much more informed and comforted. Thank You for the compassion all of your staff show to all patients.

My son was the victim to ain a drive by shooting. He took 2 bullets in his spine...Doctors told me he probably wouldn't live and if he did his chances of ever walking was slim to none after surgery... After almost two months at Mary Free Bed .. With the help of staff and help of therapists Kristy and Daina my was walking with the help of a walker short distances and using a wheel chair. Two months later wheelchair was gone... Two months after that walker is gone... With the help of braces and s cane my son is now walking... Had it not been for the help of Mary Free Bed and its excellent staff my son would be the person he is today...

Jason and Lauren are fantastic people to have in your corner, not only do they challenge you, they give you calm sense of encouragement, the doctors and nursing staff are very professional and informative.
I would recommend Mary Free Bed to anyone who is in need of acute therapy.
Thanks again for being there for me!

After a severe spine injury and 21 days of learning to walk again the staff at Mary felt more like family than my medical team. I owe my recovery to their balance of professionalism and kindness.

I feel terrible for those who have posted horrible experiences but as for my family we have seen amazing things at MFB. My mother came in to there unable to move or walk and although some care givers were better than others and some things worked and some didn't; the overall care she received was outstanding. Their PT department were miracle workers and now she is walking with help. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Mary Free Bed is amazing along with the staff. My father is currently there. He has had nothing but great care. The staff are so caring they treat my father like he is there family. Thank u all.

They did wonders with my brother after he had a double stroke they made him feel like he was family. And did wonders for him more like miracles they got him doing a lot of different things he could not do. Is very painful having to see him leave their for somewhere else and don't know where else is a good place for him.
Jeremy Ott
Top notch facility with an even better staff. From doctors to house keeping and everyone in-between, simple amazing. There is no better choice for your rehabilitation needs.

I spent 9 weeks at MFB for PT and OT following my diagnosis of GBS. I couldn’t have chose a better place for my rehabilitation. I cannot praise the doctors, nurses, tech’s and nutrition enough!
Jaklyn Brunk
Their therapists are the reason I can walk and do daily tasks today after a motor vehicle accident when I was younger. And then recently my father had a stroke and they are working wonders and so patient with him. They also went above and beyond so my sister could get married there and have him with her. Cannot speak highly enough.
Dan Brown
I had reached a crossroads and MFB seemed to be my only recourse. I went in hopeful and with as open a mind as possible. The hardest pill to swallow was the focus on the pills I swallow. The doctor basically freaked me out on day 1 and nearly each time I saw him. Went back and started to read the folder they put together. Actually READ and noticed a problem immediately. #2 bullet point in bold print..."Pain relief is not our primary objective." Huh? It's the whole reason I went. PT and PSY were great, hence the 3 stars. Of you have chronic pain as I do, work with your doctor and specialists is my advice.

Staff is Amazing... Very caring and friendly
