The midwives are great for labor and delivery, but I hesitate to recommend them for all prenatal visits. I've delivered two children with the midwives services at Methodist downtown and both experiences were really great. Both times, the midwife that assisted me made sure to give me options and explain them to me so that I could make an educated decision for myself. There was no pressure and they respected my wishes for my preferences for the birthing process. However, the prenatal appointments really left a lot to be desired. I wish that they would do away with their policy that you have to have a visit with all the midwives. It leads to very impersonal care and occasionally miscommunication about your file and test results. It felt like every appointment was my first. It's also inconvenient that you have to travel somewhere else for your ultrasounds and labs. The staff was always very nice, but I just think it's not set up for a very personal experience. Visiting with all the midwives so you know them seems like a good idea in theory, but in practice it doesn't work that way. It would probably be better for both practitioner and patient if you could have one midwife for prenatal care and then whichever midwife was working would deliver your baby, even if it's not that same midwife.

I switched to UP Midwives in 2018 after a friend recommended the clinic. I have loved every single midwife there and have always had a great experience. I will never go anywhere else! I had my first baby in February 2021 and my whole pregnancy I felt well cared for and always like the midwife was listening. I can not recommend these lovely women enough!

Cannot recommend the midwives enough! Everyone in the office is so friendly and sincerely cares about your health and your baby's health. I switched from another OBGYN at about 16 weeks and was so happy I did.

I only have experience with Autumn who is no longer a provider. My daughter had a baby with her and had absolutely wonderful care. I had my regular checks and had good care. My only problems I had was getting return calls when I made my initial appointment and had concerns. I also made an appointment and when I got there they said it was for a different day and time...maybe so. Overall I think this is a good practice and they respect people.

This practice was absolute perfection for my prenatal and birth experience. All of the midwives I experienced along the way were top notch in knowledge, care and bedside manner. With my midwife there for support during my entire labor and delivery I was able to carry out the birth plan I desired and deliver a beautiful and healthy baby boy. I could not imagine going to anyone else for care on this important journey. Thank you midwives!

I love this place because they are all woman, they all took the time to get to know me on a personal level. They remembered me when I came back for my third pregnancy. Even remembered my son's name that she delivered two years prior. They are quick and attentive. I transferred to them from West Des Moines OBGYN when I was 33 weeks with my youngest and am seeing them now with my third pregnancy. They are outstanding at what they do.

Had a great experience with labor and delivery for this 1st time dad. Brooke was fantastic in every way! I had a lot of things go through my head before going in and never did I think that the delivery was going to be so amazing! I credit that mostly to Brooke and the staff at Lutheran Hospital...cannot thank them enough for creating a caring, professional, and positive environment for our new family! Thank you again.

They deliver our first son and we are currently going through them for our second son. Couldn't imagine using anybody else. We absolutely love them. Sea Fey is as good as they come. We would highly recommend the midwifes to anybody considering it!

A+. The women that work here treat their patients like gold. Sweet, considerate, and encompassing. They care about all of you. You won't be treated like a number here. And they give you chocolate... good chocolate. I feel lucky to have found them. Would recommend!!

We had a great experience with all the midwives at the center. They were knowledgable and understanding as we went through our first pregnancy & delivery. They also were supportive during a recent miscarriage. Would recommend them to anyone!

I had a wonderful experience with the midwives! They were very caring and compassionate to me. I love that it's a good compromise for those who would like to have a midwife and not an OBGYN but still have the "safety net" of the hospital. I thought the nurses were warm and comforting, and I didn't have any problems with their service.

I can't say enough how much I loved my experience with the midwives. They are all wonderful from their bedside manor, appointments, to how encouraging they are during labor whether you plan on an epidural or not. Susan delivered my daughter and I honestly couldn't ask for a better experience. Will definitely return to them for any other pregnancies.

My wife and I went here for our second pregnancy and we loved our experience here. The staff are wonderful and they have great coffee. It should be noted that if you are a high risk pregnancy they may not see you because you likely need more specialized care than they can provide.

Love all the midwives especially Pam! Still see her for routine checkups even after 4 years of pregnancy and delivery journey which was a wonderful experience. I was in charge of my body and my baby. ❤

I love this place. They are awesome. The only staff that is horrible is Suzen. She told me that I'm a danger to a child because I have Bipolar. She is judgmental to those with mental health issues and need to be fired, but other than that this place is awesome
