Reviews of Burlington Lakeside VA Clinic

I have always found the people here to be friendly and work to quickly get you in to see a doctor or nurse.
The downside was that I've had referrals not get sent through in a timely fashion. My impression was that they got lost in the shuffle. While this was irritating, I have had the same thing happen at a very good civilian hospital, so this doesn't rate the VA Clinic lower than anywhere else (I tend to do my scores relative to other similar establishments).
Since that incident, I have been pretty proactive about calling/emailing to follow-up on my referrals. I haven't had a single issue since.

Been a patient of the VA for many years. Had the pleasant experience of spending some time under the care of the Vermont VA at the Burlington Lakeside clinic. Unfortunately had to leave and move back to Iowa. The Burlington Lakeside clinic was a Godsend to me. I struggle today but never would have made it this far without them. Wish I could move back and see them again.

I was treated here for 3 years and as far as VA services go this is absolutely phenomenal, the white river junction location is great too. The location is wonderful and easy to get to, its new inside which is nice, and I have NEVER been treated so well as a military veteran. I cannot commend this place enough for its customer service and attitude, the people here really care about their veterans and do the best they can with what they have (often there are staff shortages and lack of funding, like most Veterans programs). It can be hard to get someone on the phone right away, but leaving a message ALWAYS gets me a return call same-day. That being said, like most Veterans clinics its hard to get an appointment. I am lucky enough that my doctor gave me her nurse line in case of emergency and for basic prescription refills, but I am sure that is an anomaly. The wait time is about 60-90 days depending on the season (winter is harder to get appts). Prescriptions can be a bit of a hassle as there is no pharmacy on location, so they have to contract out. This can be irritating as I frequently had the "we arent seeing it in the computer" conversation for my prescriptions. But usually it was remedied in 24 hours or less. I have been treated at 4 different VA hospitals and never received the level of care the Vermont VA center and its affiliates offer. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing. I have used my own insurance for the last 20+ years. Recently it became too expensive for me, so I decided to go with the VA route. Had a minor medical issue and they were so nice and helpful. Quick resultion of my issue, and I hadn't set up an appointment first. I'm 50 years old and work in customer service and sales. To this day I have yet to receive the service that was provided to me by the va clinic in Burlington.

Had an appointment at the VA. Grateful to have the CBOC clinic in Burlington for care. WRJ VA hospital is to far for all Veteran's to go for regular visits, MH, PT, Opthalmology and Lab work.
Happy to have my VA Doctor and clinic close to base during my service and now home as a retired Veteran.

I have received nothing but the best and most professional care from the Veterans Administration since returning from the Iraq War. The new Lakeside clinic is in a fantastic location, plenty of parking, and close to Lake Champlain Chocolates to boot! The VA in general has been excellent for me.

I use this VA clinic, in association with my outside primary care provider. The generally are able to provide services or help corrodinate between VA services & medications with my private doctor who tends to have a better ability to get me in, and continuity of providers.

Props to the Women and Men who run WRJ and of course... The Burlington CBOC. Finest in the nation as I am concerned.
Their compassion and dedication to get getting the job is amazing.
Truly good people.
(Might be a Vermont thingee!)

This is a very nice facility and the care is top notch. I really appreciate having access to it and prefer it to my employer provided healthcare. No bad experiences thus far, only great staff, nurses and doctors. Thank you.

Despite all of the bad press that VA Medical has received, I have always been very satisfied with the care that I receive. I have never in about 20 years had a negative experience.

I've left a message every day for the past 4 days trying to get someone to call me back.
Update - service has greatly improved.
