Never waited longer the 2 hrs in waiting room, the nurses i have had were nice and so were the doctors. I actually prefer them over Franklin Square Hospital. Mercy has shown they actually care about their patients and will make sure when you leave you understand everything that is going on. They have treated me with respect and cared about my medical issues.

I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder for 10 months. I met DR.Nicholas got an injection, and the staff member kindly explained to me, who is not good at English. Now I am not afraid to visit Marcy Hospital. Dr.Nicholas is a very good Dr.👍 …

I have had different doctors for different problems. I've noticed in the past 5 years, the quality of each dr's concern for the patients health and well being has changed for the worst. They all seem to pass patients around to solve one health issue that could've been resolved had one particular dr did their actual job. They also seem to be quick to write a prescription for things you may not have, "just in case".They need to do better

I unfortunately had to go the ER here at Mercy, while one my first vacation in 4 years. My throat was closing for an unknown cause, they sudpected an allergic reaction, which I don't think it was possible, or a viral illness. I spent about 4 hours there, from checking in to discharge. It seems like a "rougher' cliental. However, everyone of the staff I spoke to was kind and respectful to me. However, I am not sure if everyone had the same experience. There was one patient who kept yelling that they wanted to get some breakfast or speak to the doctor. Again I am not sure of the situation, but the medical staff wasn't very kind with him, seemed like they were disregarding his requests. And it was easy to over hear them discussing this patient and the others, but they maintained HIPAA without giving away anyones personal information.

I’ve been coming here for treatment since 2011. The gynecological oncology department is stellar. The staff is always kind, caring, and warm. If you need to see something beautiful make a trip the chapel of light. It’s uplifting.

Naquesta Smith is a great Phlebotomist!! She was gentle and got the job done in one try! I would suggest the hospital have her help on the iron infusions side also. She deserves recognition for her great work!!

Mercy Medical Center is a fantastic hospital system. Personally, I've had the opportunity to be a patient of several doctors, and both of my children were born here. As a patient, I have always been treated with care and respect. Additionally, I've been fortunate enough to work as a vendor of the hospital system, and I have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of the doctors, surgeons, and nursing staff. The overwhelming feeling of care and compassion is pretty much in the DNA of the staff. I highly recommend looking at the services that this great regional hospital offers.

They treated my friend so well I started looking at houses for sale! Health is wealth! If you can find a hospital with a culture of saving All lives you better stay connected. She was treated like family. She went to almost dying to thriving! All God using amazing staff to do what they do not based on race or wealth. A diverse staff committed to saving lives!! I salute your work and hospitality

There's various parking garages here. Hope you don't get stuck in the wrong one. I waited an hour after calling for help. NO ONE came. Let the parking attendant know about it. Still charged full price.

Masks required. They do give you masks if you don't have any. Wheelchair accessible and elevator available. The snack shops in the lobby are expensive.

I just had my left total knee replacement surgery. From months before to the present, my care has been nothing but compassionate professional care.
The dietary department reveals a five star restaurant. House keeping must the cleaning fairies, it's always fresh and clean.
My next surgery is on the 15th of March. I am looking forward to my stay.
Even my visit from my service pet, Charlie.

All the staff in the building are very friendly and great, especially in the first floor surgery area!!! Rooms are great and floor 16 has amazing views from the rooms!

My husband had a procedure today and it took longer then expected, needless to say I was extremely concerned. The nurse came out when the administration staff was concerned about me and reassured me everything is going well. I decided to get a cup of coffee and the wonderful gentleman at the door of the cafe noticed I was very upset, he took me straight to the coffee and helped me out and then told me not to worry about paying, it was on the house. Then looked at me and said my husband is in good hands and not to worry!! All of the staff is so kind and caring. The facility was beautiful and clean. Thank you everyone from a wife that has her husband home safe!!

Mercy saved my baby's life. They found and diagnosed my vasa previa (a more rare placental condition) along with complete placenta previa, had it not been found and diagnosed, my placenta could have ruptured and my son could have been a stillborn (this condition is very often not caught and is in a lot of cases of stillbirth). They moved my scheduled c section date up sooner and I'm so thankful that they did, as I started going into labor just 2 hours before my delivery on my new scheduled date! (I was 4 cm) it was absolutely perfect timing.
Excellent care and attention when it comes to their Labor and Delivery department. Nurses were wonderful (all except one, but I saw over 10-15 different nurses since I had been there a while on bed rest)
The OB who delivered my son did an excellent job with my c section, minimal bruising, no infection or complications.
Mercy NICU is also by far the best place to have your baby if you're baby needs extra care/is premature. Wonderful nurses that love and care for your baby as their own.

I recently had my gallbladder removed at Mercy performed by Dr Swope. He was recommended to me by my primary doctor and a former patient. After reading reviews online and noticing the awards in his office I felt comfortable having him as my surgeon. He used the da Vinci robot assisted procedure.
I found him personable, and willing to answer questions . I would recommend him without hesitation. I might add that his team, starting with his secretary, Patrice, surgical assistant, anesthesiologist and all of the nurses on that day made it a successful outcome.

Mercy is absolutely the best. They took excellent care of my mom and listened to us throughout her stay. She was bed bound She was changed regularly and nurses and staff were helpful in explaining what care she would need going forward. It is not the closest hospital to us but going forward it will be my hospital of choice. Cannot stress enough how refreshing an experience it was dealing with them after trying to work with BWMC for years. So worth the drive.

A very mixed bag of experience. Parking is terrible but you may get a reduced fee. The clinics may charge you a facility fee...absolutely terrible and greedy. Most likely the city of Baltimore gives tax breaks to this and John's Hopkins hospital, otherwise why stay in Baltimore...ugh! Facility equipment is dated and the building showing its age, go elsewhere unless you have no other choice.

After a misdiagnosis and 3 months of severe pain I finally found a physician and hospital that gave me the treatment I needed to recover.
I needed a hip replacement and had my surgery at Mercy hospital in Baltimore.
The staff and doctors are outstanding!
From admission, to being discharged I knew that I had made the right choice .
No one wants to have surgery especially during the Covid 19 Pandemic!
I never once had any concerns about my health, wellbeing and safty.
My nursing staff who took care of me post op were so wonderful! Every staff member made a difficult time..much easier to get through.
The entire staff at Mercy showed me unbelievable professional care ....something I had not experienced Pryor 3 months.. dealing with a doctor and practice who's only concern was their bottom line!
I wish to thank the entire staff for a job well done! Peace of mind is the first steps to recovery. And my mind was at ease knowing that after months of pain, being mistreated, misdiagnosed that finally I was going to find a resolution to my pain.
You guys rock!.... and I am so very grateful to each staff member at Mercy!
THANK YOU ALL !

I had a recent visit at the women's center the level of professionalism from each Mercy employee that I encountered was amazing. At the front door I was greeted by the Mercy representative who checked my temperature check and asked the COVID questions to the service representative in the women's center who registered me was such a pleasant experience. The one employee that made a lasting impression was the medical assistant Latrice who assisted Dr. Peters. She carried herself professionally and made my visit very comfortable, attentive and treated me with respect. The quality of care that she provided made the difference in treating a patient as an individual versus treating a patient as next on an assembly line. The women center got the message of the importance of customer service and thus each employee has leveled up accordingly. I would highly recommend the Women's center.

I've been visiting Mercy for seven years now. I am always thankful for the kind staff and physicians. During my last visit to the Breast Center, I was delighted to hear the front desk staff supporting and encouraging a new staff member. You could tell that they were invested in her success. Such kindness! As a patient, hearing your staff communicate so well to each other and to patients makes a visit worthwhile. Thank you Mercy.

I am a living walking testament of a miracle. Thanks to my God who not only healed my body, but led me to one of the most remarkable oncologist in the world. In February 2020 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. This shocking news brought my husband and I to our knees in tears. Twenty years ago we lost our beautiful 10 year old daughter to neuroblastoma cancer. The recollection of that time in our lives surfaced and brought even more emotions to our situation. Fast forward, when we initially met with Dr. Vadim V. Gushchin at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. He saw that we were perplexed and had many questions. He took his time to candidly explain things to us and thoroughly answer our many questions. At the end of the consultation I recall feeling very confident that God had sent me to the best surgeon in Baltimore and the world. I could relax and appreciate Dr. Gushchin. My surgery was very successful, thank you Dr. Gushchin for your skillful hands, impeccable medical knowledge, and empathetic spirit, you live up to your great reputation as the best in the oncology field .

I had an amazing experience with the nurses at Labor and Delivery!!! Absolutely phenomenal.
They made me feel at home and was super nice and welcoming.

I just had surgery there today. All of the staff members treated me wonderfully. It was cold in the surgery prep center and the operating floor in the Bunting Building, but I didn’t even have to ask or say anything to the staff for new warm blankets, they automatically gave me more right when I needed new warm blankets — they paid attention and noticed when I was getting chilly again. They all had great bedside manner. Thank you to all who helped me today, and God bless all of you. 💛Wanted to stop by and pray in the chapel, but I was too drugged up still when I was wheeled outside to get picked up and forgot. Oh, well. Next time! :)

I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr Brennan Collins. He is a wonderful person and cares for his patients. When I met with him he did not talk over me, but listened kindly and lovingly. He has an amazing assistant Jasmine Perry that took her time explaining things even more than once without getting upset. I truly felt loved and cared for. I also encountered Gigi (Angelica Davis) that was a dear to deal with as well. If you want a surgeon with warm bedside manner, pick Dr Collins. He is a wonderful person and Jasmine will help you sort out all of the details. Thank you Mercy for having people like Jasmine and Dr Collins on your team. I will find another platform in which to sing their praises because the medical field and world need more people like them.

My surgery experience at Mercy ( first surgery) was exceptional! Dr. Harris and the surgeon. Dr. Swope and his team were amazing. From check in to discharge every person was fabulous.

I showed up at 5:30am on Monday 3/9 for cervical disk replacement surgery at Mercy Medical Center. I was under the care of Dr Charles Edwards II. Every member involved on the Mercy team were caring, comforting and kind! After surgery my care in the recovery room was was fantastic. I was then wheeled up to my room for my overnight stay so that I can be monitored and given proper meds and care for my after surgery recovery. Once again the Mercy team of nurses, techs, assistants, food service & clean-up personnel...were all outstanding! My nurses David, Shay and Heather are Rockstars!!!!
There are many more names that I cannot remember, but I did thank them before leaving. In closing, I thank God❤️🙏☝️

I needed to have back surgery which I had been avoiding for many years. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Clayton Dean do review my options as the pain had become unbearable. After my first appointment I was scared as I have scolosis and having another fusion on the L1 to S1 levels of my spine was not very appealing to me. After taking time to talk with my family I decided to schedule another appointment with Dr. Dean to discuss my issues and the many questions I had about this surgery. He was extremely professional and kind and answered all my questions about the surgery. After this visit I felt confident that Dr. Dean would be the perfect physician to perform this surgery. To make a long story short, the surgery went very well and I was very pleased with the outcome. The entire staff assigned to my care was wonderful and provided excellent care. This was my first experience at Mercy Medical and I would recommend Dr. Dean for any spinal procedure. I was very pleased with the follow up care and I am happy that I chose Dr. Dean to perform my surgery.

The facility itself is very nice, and many of the staff here seem very caring and polite (hence the 3 stars). However, despite this, I found their ID requirement for minors to be rather absurd. I am seventeen and drove with my mother from North Carolina up to Maryland back in August to see my nephew after he was born, and, because I did not have an ID, was initially denied access. The staff were nice enough to allow me upstairs on the first day (even though they were technically violating hospital policy), but on the second day that we were going to visit, they refused. I found this peculiar, as I was allowed entry on the first day but was then denied by the same staff member the next day. Regardless, I see no need to pick fights with or complain about individual staff (who were honestly just following hospital policy), and instead would like to turn my attention to the strange ID requirement that this hospital has. There was no reason to deny me access on the second day after I had been granted it on the first day, and there was really no reason to question whether or not I was a "trustworthy" individual, given that my family members went downstairs and explained who I was.
For sure, this is a problem that I was grateful to have (compared to many other "negative" hospital experiences that people have), and, once again, I am glad that the staff was willing enough to let me in the first day. But I feel that the rules are unnecessarily strict, and I believe that they should be changed. I especially feel for anyone in this situation who might be trying to visit a dying family member or someone in serious pain but could, according to hospital policy, be rejected just because they don't have identification. The actual risk associated with a more lenient approach seems to me to be fairly low, so I don't see why such an approach couldn't be implemented at this hospital.

I have been a patient at the Maryland Spine Center for over 10 years. The care I have received especially from Dr Mara Vucich is outstanding. She is caring and understanding of my insistence on not being medicated unless absolutely necessary, but being able to manage my pain and mobility on my own through a balance of rest and exercise. She listens and is extremely adept at explaining my condition - or new baseline of movement - in a way that is clear and understandable. She is compassionate and has all of the qualities in a doctor that are necessary when having to treat a patient over such a long period of time. I do also want to mention Dr Justin Park, who expertly performed spinal fusion surgery and helped me gain back the freedom to take long walks and not have to be in terrible pain each and every day. I highly recommend this medical practice.

From start to finish…. My hip replacement yesterday… up to now and waiting for discharge tomorrow… my experience with Dr.Marc Hungerford and Maureen Cave …. Inclusive of all other angels on his team that I encountered … I give total thanks and praise to each and every one I was fortunate to meet!

Over 6 months ago, I was diagnosed with a disc herniation. After jumping through hoops with treatments, and being denied medical help from a local surgeon because I was “too young” (I live on the eastern shore), I was referred to the Mercy spinal center. With in 3 weeks time, I was seen in the office with Dr. Park, scheduled for a discectomy with decompression, and completed my surgery. Dr. Justin Park is a god send, hands down. I’m 31 years old, a nurse, and have two small children. I went from being in pain, limited mobility, a depressing outlook on life, to almost fully regaining my life back! I’m on the road to recovery and all symptoms have almost subsided, if not already. My family and I will be forever grateful. I would highly recommend him and this facility to anyone.

I am a cancer patient at Mercy since 2015. How do you possibly begin to thank a doctor(s), nurses, and institution that has literally saved your life?! When I was at my worst, the surgeon took the time to call me personally and ask what was going on with me. This was about 8:30 at night, as I recall. I was crying on the phone because I was in such horrific pain! This surgeon gave up his day off and came into his office at the hospital just so that he could see me!! Like I said, I was in very bad shape, so after seeing my pitiful state, he operated on me 2 days later! I was in intensive care, where I received the best treatment ever, from any hospital. Mercy is rated a top hospital for a very good reason! Excellent place with excellent, caring people. By the way, I would venture to say that at least 75 percent of the patients there are on Medicaid, so some of the complaints that Mercy is only after patients' money is very inaccurate. believe me, they are not getting rich off of Medicaid recipients! I had a problem with a bill, and about three weeks later, I was given full financial aid plus debt forgiveness for doctors I had seen there in the past! I love this place, they saved my life! - Mercy is a beacon of light and hope in a city almost completely out of control with poverty, drugs, and unspeakable violence...
God Bless this place and their dedicated staff!

I had a cervical fusion done by Dr Justin Parks and I am very satisfied with the Spine Center and highly recommend him. I am 4 days away from follow up after surgery and have received attentive care from the team of PA's who have assisted with medication needs for other conditions during my recovery.

I have to see how my ankle heels from the surgery I had but Dr.Maloney and all of the staff were so helpful and nice..I honestly had the best experience I have ever had getting medical treatment..The staff and the doctor were so caring which is so hard to find now a day...God bless them for doing God's work and being so kind

Over all ok. Staff is great. Administration not so much ! As a transplant patient with diabetes, my last stay was a disaster ! I was in for 5 days Went 3days with out many anti rejection medication, and 4 days with out anyone checking my sugar ! Made it known to Drs , Charge Nurses, RNs. But no one would listen. I finally started to get nasty to get results , and all the sudden I started getting my meds. I'm on day 7 waiting for someone from administration to call me !

I can't say enough good things for Mercy Medical during my experience
I had an appointment on 07/08 for a full knee replacement with Dr Marc Hungerford. We arrived just before 5:30 am the security guard was pleasant the staff who checked me in was on point, the nurses in the back who I met to get prepped for my surgery were more then pleasant, everyone who came in the room to discuss the procedure verified everything that was going to be done, OR nurses and staff were friendly
Dr Lin my Anastesiologist explained in detail what to expect before and after surgery.I got into recovery by 10:00 am and was in my room by 11:00 the floor Nurse Colbie was exceptional with bedside manners. The PT staff described what they felt needed to be done and it was done with out any force, even down to the food servers who were excellent, Michelle the PA came in the next day and went over everything again as to what to expect and i will say all my expectations were met and never once did I feel I was just a patient filling a bed. I will only speak highly of my experience at Mercy Medical Staff Thank You to all

I have had two oncology procedures here and inserted a port a cath for oncology treatment. The staff was wonderful. I love the daily prayer announcements. I pray to never need their services again but I would highly recommend their oncology treatment and staff to anyone. And as a nurse myself I have seen many different hospitals. And Mercy is really exceptional.

Have had 4,spinal surgeries at Mercy and always received excellent care from all staff. Nurses in recovery are always very pleasant, helpful, and most caring. Of course can’t sing enough praises for my surgeon. Dr. Charles Edwards, Sr. Absolutely the very best!!!!
Jackie Fields
I am a patient of Dr. David Maine and I wanted to let everyone know that although I go to him for pain management (cortisone shots), I had a wonderful experience thanks to him and his amazing staff. I would like to thank all of the staff, especially Tania, Stephanie, Cherry, Amy, Denise and Annisa. I don't like getting the shots but they all put me at ease and are very thorough, friendly and compassionate. They are wonderful and I highly recommend Dr. Maine and his wonderful staff!!!!!
Carole Spera
Just had my surgery 12 days ago and having had two past awful reactions from anesthesia in two other hospitals, I couldn’t believe the genuine concern and incredible empathy from the anesthesiologist Rachael, (made my concerns disappear, and I came out of anesthesia with not one side effect!!), my primary nurse, Janet and my recovery room nurse Megan. Dr. Swope is an awesome robotic surgeon!
I would recommend Mercy Hospital to everyone!

Me and my significant other just had our first child delivered at Mercy! We both are extremely happy with the service the staff provided us. FOR THE MOST part all of the nurses, tech's & doctors were very professional, kind, caring & very knowledgeable. We never questioned their decision making or plan for our daughters birth. After our daughter was born we went up to the 10th floor for a couple days & the staff was even more polite & willing to accommodate our needs. They gave us lots of diapers, formula & wipes to start us out which was a blessing! Mercy gets 5 stars if you ask us, nothing but the best here!

I came to see Dr. Greenwell for over 5 years back in the early 2000s prior and during dialysis. Then I just recently reconnected with him after my kidney transplant. His staff is spectacular and Dr. Greenwell is a very down to earth, easy going doctor who takes the time to discuss your health in detail and never rushes a doctor appointment. If anyone is looking for a great nephrologist, Dr. Greenwell is your doctor !

I delivered my third child here. I had a standard 2 night stay. I have very mixed reviews about this hospital. We arrived and I was 8-9 cm dilated. The front desk and lobby staff were amazing and helped us quickly. However when we got to labor and delivery registration, there did not seem to be a genuine concern for the every 1 minute contractions I was having. Finally a nurse came and got me, took me to triage. I had a quick exam, the doctors came in, the nurses came in...and realized we were ready to go. The nurse who was in charge of putting my IV in, was not in a rush, was trying to find a vein in the side of my arm under a black tattoo. I asked her what she was doing, and she looked at me crazy..fast forward she got offended when I told my partner, she had no clue what she was doing. So she stopped and put it in one of great veins that I clearly have in my arm. We move to delivery. Doctors were great and my labor and delivery nurses were great. They ruptured my water and 15 minutes later, delivery was over. A total of 45 minutes from arrival to delivery. We finally arrived to baby and mother unit around 6pm.
Ok, our first shift change: we had a RN who was just not concerned. My partner called on 3 different occasions for concerns, and she maybe came once after a hour of waiting. We sucked it up and just waited until 7am for everything we needed.
Issues: our bracelets were not scanned every time they removed the baby from the room.
Basic baby necessities were not on hand :petroleum jelly, pacifier, Etc.
We were told we could not take the infant shirts with us.. lol
Overnight care was not great.
Wendy, from lactation: there is always that one person who decides to say something about something at the end of your stay, that no-one else has said.
The only amenity offered was ice water, which we were told to get it ourself.
Was offered a guest tray of food, but was never delivered.
Student nurse was brought in while we were waiting for transport to do a 40 minute long exam.
Room was not swept cleaned.
Only consistent thing: the lady who delivered our meals was amazing. Shawnise, our overnight support on the second night was amazing. Jessica, our lactation support was great. Kayla our RN on our first day shift, did an amazing job. And the NP, Janice, were the best things, other than our beautiful baby, about this stay. Luckily, I personally did not have any ailments, no medications, no additional pains.
In comparison to Holy Cross Hosiptal, where I delivered my first two, I was not at all impressed with the overall hospital experience.

So, since so many people are so quick to point out fault or place blame, I would like to give some compliments. I needed to have unexpected gallbladder surgery on 2/25/19. My boss, Dr. Jeffrey Gaber, saw me, made a phone call and sent me to the ER at Mercy Medical Center. From the minute I arrived until my discharge on 2/26/19, everyone was awesome! Everyone couldn’t have been any nicer or more comforting. Shout out to my Attending Physician, Dr. Siamak Moayedi, who had a great bedside manner, quickly made the diagnosis, & made me feel reassured and at ease...to my surgeon, Dr. Nora Meenaghan, who I would recommend without hesitation. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She was extremely informative about the procedure and what to expect post-operatively, & made my husband and I have total faith in her... to my nurses on the 14th floor, Ericka and Seher, you were the best...and to Dave, a student nurse who took part in my post-op care, you’re going to be a great nurse! So, to Dr. Gaber, Dr. Moayedi, Dr. Meenaghan, and everyone at Mercy that took part in my care, thank you! All of you made this experience a very positive one-and you all kept me very calm which is a feat all by itself!!

Mercy neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Park and the staff at Mercy Medical Center were incredible following an unexpected diagnosis of a brain tumor and two cysts at an ER near my home on an early Saturday morning. What I thought were migraines became an urgent situation.
I asked my ER doc to contact Dr. Park, and was then transferred to Mercy via medical transport. Dr. Park saw me in Mercy’s ICU shortly after my arrival that afternoon. He was confident I would get through this, and then made calls to his team who didn’t hesitate to give up their Sunday morning for an 8 am surgery.
Before leaving my room, Dr. Park led my family in a prayer for a successful surgery and outcome. I imagine not many doctors are willing to share their faith in such a way. Doing so put my thoughts of the unknown at ease.
Upon entering the OR, I was greeted by smiles and personal attention, which assured me I was in the best place. Next thing you know I was waking up in the ICU. Pain was tough at first, though managed quickly by the nurses and doctors. If I had any issues, the ICU staff responded immediately. After a few days, I was moved to the 16th floor where the care seamlessly continued.
Despite the reputation of hospital food, Mercy’s team was attentive and my meals were enjoyable.
From the medial staff, to pastoral care, food service, and others, there were many faces who made this journey a positive experience that will not be forgotten. Mercy is a place where body, mind, and spirit are cared for.
Fortunately, no additional treatments are not required at this time. I’m anticipating returning to work following several weeks of recovery at home.
The mission of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Medical Center were on display every moment of my stay. I could not have asked for anything better.
Paul Rene Spenard Sr
Spent 7 hours in the ER 4/10/18, but because of an ER nurse Alexia it was most pleasant. She was very cordial and kept me informed of any actions pertaining to me. She treated me like I was a VIP. She also complimented me for being so patient and understanding. realize their job can be very stressful at times and too often they get bitched at.

Mercy Hospital has always been a great experience for myself and a few family and friends. I see a few specialist there. Especially the foot and ankle reconstruction center. I love Dr John Campbell. He saved my foot..Unfortunately I had my first major foot surgery in 2009 and it was a total right foot reconstruction and I had it done at Union Memorial with Dr Gregory Guyton. He messed my foot up very badly and I had to have it all redone again. And that's when I went to Mercy for a 2nd opinion. I'm so glad I did. Dr John Campbell saved my foot but unfortunately I had to have 3 more surgeries in 2009-2010.
And just recently on Nov 5th, 2018 I had my 5th foot surgery (4th with Dr Campbell) He did a wonderful job and has a wonderful bedside manner and listens. I had surgery there yesterday and I was the first surgery of the day and I was done and home by 12:30. The staff both front and back office were absolutely wonderful, kind, compassionate and understanding. Someone called me last night to check on me and a nurse called me today. So you, the patient comes first. Hope this review helps.

Went for a colonoscopy. The nurse Deborah Pennington was as rude as she could be. It was not a good experience. She needs to retire. She was nasty to me and the staff. I will never go back. She was awful
Sarah Miles
I had the most positive experience at Mercy Medical Center. My doctor was attentive and took his time with my physical. In the blood testing lab, the nurse who drew my blood was so sweet and funny and succeeded in making me forget I was getting my blood drawn conpletely. Definitely will stick with Mercy.

I recently had a double hernia operation by Dr. Thomas Swope and am very pleased with the Mercy Hospital staff and my surgeon. I have several friends that have had the traditional surgery and warned of the pain and long recovery time. I had the assisted da Vinci surgical procedure with three small incisions. I walked out of the hospital after a few hours and had just a minor discomfort for a day or so. I took regular Tylenol for the day following the procedure and did not need any further medication. I was told to limit lifting for about a month and can now return to tennis and golf. Thank you Mercy!

Dr. Justin Park and Staff of the Spine Center were outstanding. The best professional medical staff that I have had the privilege to use. From my initial exam, to surgery by Dr. Park, through my final post-op exam.

I've always been treated very well at Mercy Medical Center by the doctors, nurses and the blood drawing lab. Dr. Khan is a good rheumatologist and such a sweet person. Dr. Ciatola is also a fantastic orthopedic surgeon. I've been going to Mercy for years and I am satisfied.

A friend is a cancer patient here and we both have had a very positive experience. The building is very nice, comfortable facilities, and pleasant roof top gardens off the 8th and 9th floors. The parking at 250 East Pleasant St is reasonable and connected via walking bridge directly to the lobby. We experienced the surgery department, the critical care department, and the cancer care department. Professional and considerate employees. Doctor Rosenshein is awesome and one of the kindest most considerate doctors I've ever encountered. 100% positive experience for a negative condition.

My Doctor was awesome. His office staff were always kind & the waiting time for me is always short. The ER however, should have a meet & greet w/ all the dept heads.98% of the time when my surgery sent me to ER, the ER staff told me that my surgeon either retired or was a woman..My surgeon would tell me to have the ER call him when i got a room in the back but, on more then one occasion they refused to do that stating that i had nothing wrong w/ me..On these occasions i had a post operative infection.. The ER staff always told me i was fine. & i was NOT.

I had one of the best hospital experiences I have ever had this morning with the amazing staff at mercy medical surgical center on the 5th floor! They made my surgery at 730am this morning go smooth as can be. I had a wonderful Nurse Jill couldn’t thank her enough for keeping me distracted so by the time I was wheeled back into the OR room I had completely forgot I was about to have surgery. The Anastasiologist was wonderful may I add too! Keeping me smiling and laughing while I was feeling uneasy about being put to sleep, And per Dr.Audlin such a brilliant doctor! Glad he diagnosed me quick! And sought the best option for me by ruling out other alternatives by trying those first before surgery. In recovery the nurse stayed right by my side asking me questions making sure I was okay! And everyone I mean the rest of the statff who lent a hand to me because I’m unable to pull myself up at the moment, where a true blessing! No complaints everyone was smiling and well organized at 730 in the morning. Super impressed with this hospital and they have been nothing more than kind when going through a scary surgery! Thank you Mercy🙏🏻 And thank you to everyone who has helped me today. First time ever at Mercy I give it ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ & an 👍🏻

All my doctor's are mercy and all my treatment have been with Mercy

Had surgery at this Hospital and it was a fantastic place. I highly recommend it. The nurses were so kind, Dr R was awesome, and the rest of the staff was super friendly , they put the patient first, I always tell people that everyone at Mercy made me feel special. ABSOLUTELY give this Hospital a try if you need medical care. (As a side note, even the food was great !)
Jeremy “VSVP Jxrmz” Lucas
I can't speak for the other areas of Mercy but the OB/GYN wing is the BEST in Maryland in my opinion. My daughter was born here & they provided the most caring, professional, comfortable & knowedgeable experience I've ever had before! I recommend Mercy over any other hospital in MD, the staff are very very friendly & all seem to love what they do. I can't say the same for some of the surrounding hospitals in Baltimore. Currently at John Hopkins Bayview STAY away from this place. The influx of patients coming in for drug abuse or OD's makes the staff intolerable to almost everyone which isn't fair to people who have insurance & just want a clean simple experience when going in for treatment or diagnosis. Thank you Mercy staff, Bayview ✌🏽
Kim P
I had surgery at Mercy last year with Dr Rosenshein. My hospital stay was wonderful. The nurses and assistants were great, always checking on me and the food was good too. If I ever need surgery, this is where I will go.
Leon Kemakh
We wound like to thank physicians at Mercy Hospital for making my grandmothers treatment bearable. Special thanks to Dr. Vadim Gushchin and Dr. Paul Gordon for playing an instrumental role in her treatment. Thank you for the positive impact you had on our lives. Your help was immeasurable. Thank you for everything that you did to treat her. You’re truly extraordinary specialists!
Della Shuler
I have had 6 major surgeries at this hospital over the last 8 years. My experiences were excellent. Most of their staff have shown me skill, respect and compassion
Amy G
I am SO thankful for Mercy! I was brought to another hospital by an ambulance with a leg broken so badly it was crooked and they sent me home to call during normal business hours. Dr. Jeng at Mercy saw my X-rays and saved the day! If it weren't for Dr. Jeng, Dr. Richman, and the amazing team at Mercy, I may have not been able to use my leg again. The staff was extremely nice and the nurses were attentive. I live out of town but continue to travel to Mercy because I know I will get the care I need!
Correnne Robinson
This hospital has the best staff with the greatest energy. It’s always clean and I can honestly say I believe they attempt to do their best with whatever you need assistance with. Mercy is always my first and only choice ❤️.
Tracy Hershey
By far BEST hospital and staff, I went in through the ER with a bowel obstruction had an NG tube inserted was there for 8 days total had surgery every nurse every doctor the surgical group the people that clean the floors in the bathrooms dietary the people in the PT Department everyone that touched me during my stay was absolutely incredible if I ever have to have anything done again I will definitely return to Mercy this was a very good experience and I am well on my way to recovery hope I never have to have another surgery however with crohn's disease it surely in my future but I will definitely return to Mercy thank you to all the nurses to dr. Mary Harris and to dr. Swope for taking very good care of me
Valerie Goodman
Excellent treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Friedman is a top notch surgeon and has helped creative a nurturing and supportive environment to patients. The nurse navigator Deb Kirkland does an excellent job of educating and supporting patients as they go through systematic treatment. Receptionionists and other staff are cordial and well trained at their jobs.
C H
Best hospital in Baltimore. Facilities, physicians, and nurses are the best. For all of the bad reviews all I can say is this is a hospital, not a hotel. You are here to be treated for an ailment, not catered to as a guest. Put yourself in someone else's shoes and imagine what the employees have to put up with, especially working in downtown Baltimore.
Eulonda Owens
My daughter came here in severe stomach pain after visiting 3 other hospitals who did nothing at all for her. I'm so very pleased with the staff here they were prompt, courteous, and kind. They actually cared for my child, something I thought all health professionals were supposed to do.
Rick Brownlee
This is a Very Nice Hospital!
For Starters, whoever was the Reviewer that said this place has Good Food....DID NOT LIE!!! The Food that comes to the Patient Rooms here go neck & neck with the Food Taste & Presentation of Paoli Hospital in Pennsylvania (which is #1 currently).....Thanks Kim!!!
**The SUPER MAJOR DOWNSIDE TO THIS CUISINE IS THAT MERCY IS NOT VERY MERCIFUL TOWARDS THE MOTHER/CARETAKER THAT STAYED THE ENTIRE 4 DAYS....OFFERING NO "COMPANION TRAY" AS PAOLI HOSPITAL SO READILY OFFERED!!!**
Well,.....now on to the Review:
CLEANLINESS:
This Hospital has been kept up pretty well, especially the Marriott-Style Private Room (sorry Medicare) that are located in the Newly Built "Bunting Building"!!! The Front Lobby where the Pick-Up Area is looks Very Elegant!!!
The ER DEPARTMENT:
The Waiting Area was Very Small compared to all the other Hospitals I've been to in Baltimore. The Triage Nurses Sharon & Sharon are Very Professional & knows what they're doing (a Godsend & very different than the Careless Students @ The University Hospitals!!). Nurse Paris was Great & Nurse "G" was Good & actually allowed me to get some "Hot Food" & some much needed Sleep in the ER while waiting for a Bed to be available in the New Bunting Building.
Techs "Dan-the-Man", Adienne & Nurse Kelly from ER X-Ray were FANTASTIC!! Kelly really shocked me because she said she was Newly Hired & Newly Graduated but had the kind of Bedside Manners generally found in Well-Seasoned Staff!!!
DIALYSIS DEPARTMENT:
Dr. Greenwell is Very Seasoned & was a pleasure to deal with. He expalained everything VERY WELL & in a way you could understand!!
Peg the Coordinator was VERY PROFESSIONAL & SUPER FRIENDLY!!
The Charge Nurse Patty & was Very Experienced & was such a pleasure to chat with :)
TRANSPORT:
Sienna, Briel, Cheryl, Tyra, Erica, & Maurice should ALL get an Award for their Fast, Efficient & Caring nature shown to me & I'm guessing many others!!
The Housekeepers were on top of their game, especially George & Dorrell....Thanks!!!
11th Floor:
Dr. Judah Mirvish & Dr. Michael Sambat were very Good. Nurse Jenn was OUTSTANDING!!! **Beware of Tech "Josanna" which has a Major Attitude Problem and acts like she doesn't want to be there dealing with Sick folk!!**
16th Floor:
You'll like the Nurse Afton (She's Mexican American) & the Tech Kere (True Sistah)!!
The Resident Dr. Fields is a pleasant persn who will actually LISTEN TO THE PATIENTS STORY & has Great Bedside Manners!! THANKS!!
The Attending Dr. Emily Marcus was NOT very Friendly & seemed to have a Major Attitude Problem! She was Highly Pregnant & I don't know if that contributed to her "Smart-I-Don't-Care-What-You're-Saying....I'M THE BOSS!!!" Attitude or not?!
Lastly, I must mention Echo Tech Kim in Cardiology....SHE WAS AMAZING!!!
VERY NICE & EXTREMELY CARING!!!
ALL IN ALL, THIS IS A VERY GOOD HOSPITAL....JUST NEED TO HAVE A BIT MORE "MERCY" ON CARETAKERS STAYING ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT & PROVIDE THEM WITH TRAYS AS WELL.
***THIS IS ACTUALLY A "TEACHING HOSPITAL" & IS MAINLY STAFFED BY ALOT OF STUDENTS (from UMMC) WITH THE REAL SPECIALIST SCATTERED HERE & THERE***
RECOMMENDED (But as of now, Love ones, please bring $20 a day for Food or a Lunchbag...oh, and be prepared to walk the long hallways to the Cafeteria.

I had a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy/Hernia Repair done by two of the amazing doctors that saved my life and I would never ever forget them. Dr. Teresa Diaz Monte, MD and Dr. J Lawrence Fitzpatrick and your team I'm so forever Grateful!

I recently had the bladder sling operation by Dr Ellerkmann. I couldn’t be happier with the results. After experiencing urinary incontinence for many years I no longer have to worry about coughing or laughing in public. It truly has been life changing. Dr. Ellerkmann and his entire staff were extremely professional and receptive to my needs. I would recommend this procedure for anyone who is experiencing symptoms of incontinence. Dr Ellerkmann is the person to see. He is #1 in my book!
Johnny Fly
I am a cancer patient at MMC for the last 7 years. My doctors & all support staff have been wonderful to me. They literally saved my life. I love my Mercy Family..
Thelma Fly, 10/26/2017.

Dr. Ciotola was/is a godsend. He saved me from being wheelchair bound the rest of my life, and I am eternally grateful. He is excellent at what he does, and I am thankful that he customized his approach to meet the challenge I presented. All this without an attitude of braggadocio. I highly recommend him for any joint work.
Tarsha Renee
The only complaint I have about this hospital is the parking. Everything Eles is great. I went in today (Thursday) around 8:30 am for severe headaches and dizziness. I was diagnosed and checked out by 10:42 am. The hospital staff was very friendly, the hospital was clean. The wait time was very short and I think they tended to needs. It was well worth the 38min drive.
Pat Goldstock
Dr. Rosenshein has been my Doctor for many years. I have found him to be outstanding, caring and compassionate. He has provided excellent care to me and I am blessed to have him as my Doctor. Thank You Doctor Rosenshein , you are the best!!
Lorrie Dallek
I have had multiple out-patient surgeries at Mercy under the care of Dr. Myerson. Start to finish, the quality of staff & care received has been the BEST. I adore Dr. Myerson, the Pre-op & surgical team. As a side note, I have travelled from out of state for these procedures
Bill Stickline
Dr Clayton Dean and the staff of assistants were excellent as well as all of the departments for the pre-op exams . I was treat well in every step of my surgery .
Tameka Tillman
Jenna and Rachel has been absolutely gems, don’t know what I would have done without their friendly faces and positive attitudes, I can honestly say that I loved my stay here and I will do it again as long I get treated like they treated me
Vicki Flowers
The care my son received from his cancer team was phenomenal. I dare say however that the ER staff needs to be educated further on patients being treated for melanoma.
Karen Scott-Bates -DHS- CSA
I have been a patient at Mercy since 1995, all of my doctors are there. I had a full hip replacement in 2014, everything went very well. The hospital staff was amazing.
Mark Carroll
Dr. Clayton Dean, and his staff, were excellent! He had a very friendly, professional, and efficient manner with everything about the procedure he performed on me. And his entire staff followed. I would definitely recommend Dr, Dean!
timaya W
Robin at the imaging call center was very rude after leaving voicemail to make an appointment. I called back the next day to schedule and she talked to me as if I was getting on her nerves so rude!!! Ignorance!!! Now I don’t even want to see the doctor if the call center is this rude how are the doctors🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ …
Josh Leight
This truely is best hospital in the state of Maryland.
Chelsea Williams
Christine O'Conner has been my gyno since I was 18. I'm black and she's never shown any type of racism towards me. She's a good doctor. I don't know what that other lady is taking about.

I had surgery recently at Mercy Medical Outpatient Center, every staff member was nice and professional, the hospital was so clean and comfortable and truly enjoyed the prayer over the speaker system. I will recommend this hospital to everyone.
Marley boynton
Dr. Edwards II is amazing. I had surgery in 2014 for scoliosis and my life is completely different. You will never find a more competent and caring doctor
Walter Johnson
Getting here is extremely miserable. But Baltimore isn't a lot of fun. But the center is fine. My doctors here are good. The administration staff are pleasant, competent, and easy to work with.
Dolores Stewart

I've been to Mercy several times, but nothing serious like operations or amputations, however the nurses were very polite, very responsive and respectful and very professional, I highly recommend Mercy non emergency services but as far as critical medical emergency I suggest you do your HOMEWORK bcuz it's your LIFE!
Larry Hazzard
I want to take time time out to say thank you to Officer Charles, officer Michael and Brandon. I had a flat tire and these guy's went above their call of duty to change my tire and when I asked if I could repay them Officer Charles replied " just help someone that is in need " . Mercy you guy's rock ! Thanks again fella's

Great program and staff members they all were very helpful in finding me a place to go to after my detox and give me multiple options for programs at rehabilitation centers you're fed very well there have your own bed i'm planning a clean linens I really enjoyed the program and I will miss some of the nurses who really helped me with my addiction problems I will highly recommend this to anyone looking to get clean it only takes about four hours before they can Treat with medication so it is one of the quicker places to quickly end the suffering of withdrawals

I lived off of Charles St during the pandemic in 2020 and this hospital was extremely helpful. They allowed me to keep my pet ,Coco with me while waiting for care. They referred me to a clinic for the help I needed. I needed a COVID shot and basic physical to be cleared for work.

(Translation) My baby was born here, the nurses who attended were very kind to me, they took good care of me. Of course I got one or two who weren't willing to work and were rude to me. But after that everything is fine.
