Nobody wants to go to the doctor, but it's much less painful when that doctor is someone as smart, thoughtful, and helpful as Dr. Jetter. His in-depth knowledge of the field combined with his real world experience and common sense advice make it a real pleasure to receive medical attention from him (and his office.)

Barbara Lemmel, my physical therapist each week listens carefully to my feedback and reports. She then creatively problem solves and assigns exercises to target the issues that have arisen. Recuperation is a process and she encourages me to be patient with my body and realistic with my goals. I am optimistic that we will achieve the desired goals of the bunion/ hammertoe surgery. She also has a positive attitude, gentle hands and a great smile!

I made more progress in seven weeks of physical therapy than I did in 4 1/2 months of physical therapy the first time. I also really like that there is great communication between the physical therapist and the doctor. And that everybody’s on the same page. And you have any questions or concerns there more than willing to give you the time so you’re able to ask those questions and concerns. And therefore you don’t feel like a revolving door. They’re more than willing to stop and take the time with you that you need!!!!! She also makes physical therapy so much fun. But in the best way possible!!!!!! Honestly I that I had heard the first time I’m doing my physical therapist. She is by far the best physical therapist I’ve had!!!!!! They should be more people like her as a physical therapist!!!! I actually look forward to going to physical therapy because it’s the highlight of my week!!!!!:))

I have always heard good things about Dr. Jansma and now I know why. She was very courteous and took the time to listen to me. Not only did she come up with a plan for me, she came up with several of them to see what I might like best. She took the time to explain everything in detail not just verbally, but using drawings to make sure that all was understood. My experience with her was top-notch. There are not many doctors or healthcare providers like her around these days. I can’t say enough good about her. The staff was friendly and courteous. All this being said, I will say that my experience with Dr Kern was not the same.

When I had to cancel and reschedule an appointment, one of the clerks I spoke with was so friendly and helpful that she was able to schedule me in the very next day after speaking with her. It may sound not to important but I have had many other experiences with Doctors appt. where that would have never happened and not so friendly or professionally response. He explained things very well and had a very practical and patient centered approach. I had a procedure done which Dr. Jetter performed with a high degree of precision and skill. I will not likely need a major surgery, but if I were to I would have a lot of confidence in Dr. Jetter and the team at AK Foot and Ankle Specialists.

I had bunion and hammertoe repair with Dr. Heilala on 9 March. On 19 April my pin was to come out of the hammertoe. I went in and unfortunately that same day was when we were going to put our dog down due to liver cancer. I was a hot mess not only sad for the loss of my dog but also concerned about the pin coming out. I went to the office and Tracey met me in the waiting room-I was crying and when I told her what was going on - her compassion and concern for me was overwhelming. Dr. Heilala came into the room and saw my meltdown and was so sensitive to my feelings and was concerned that I was OK. My pin was removed and honestly it really was no big deal - just like he told me from day one. My point is through this whole dissertation is there is no place better than AFAS and the crew. I wholeheartedly recommend these guys and would never go anywhere else. They’re the best not only for what they don’t but for how much they REALLY care. I’m thankful for all of these guys and what they do.

After about 4 weeks of pain and sleepless nights, within a few hours pain and swelling was reduced by 75% and I had my first restful night sleep in weeks. My daughter had ankle surgery this spring, Dr. Jetter was her doctor and we had a positive experience both with Dr. Jetter and Alaska Foot and Ankle Specialists. We were never kept waiting, neither in the waiting room or the exam room. Dr. Jetter explained the procedure (ATFL w/internal brace) in a way that was easy to understand and made both my daughter and I feel comfortable. After her surgery she had a bad reaction to the pain meds prescribed to her and Dr. Jetter was able to see her the next day and resolve the situation, he treated her like she was one of his own. It's been 3 1/2 months since her surgery and I recently asked her if she was happy she had the surgery and she said without a doubt. She completed physical therapy and now has confidence in her ankle and is able to do the activities she loves. Thank you Dr. Jetter and the staff at Alaska Foot and Ankle Specialists for taking such good care of my daughter.

Once was for orthopedic inserts for my shoes (flat feet!) and the other was for an injury on a foot with a long history of issues.
