I have to say that I truly do not think I have written a review before ... and I only mention that to emphasize how happy I am with my most recent visit to The Red Chair salon (and how much Laken deserves a shout out!) The hairstylist I had been seeing at Red Chair recently left, so the salon's wonderful staff set me up with Laken. I saw Laken for the first time today and am over the moon. I had been extremely happy with the color and responsiveness of my last stylist, however after my ‘foilyage’ today I feel like my hair is AMAZING (and I have so much hair that I usually feel like it is just a nuisance!) The whole team at Red Chair are delightful and the salon is a gem in what is ever more becoming a one size/one style culture in a city that shines because of its uniqueness. Moral of the story: wonderful people, knowledgeable and responsive stylist, AMAZING work/results, and a salon that welcomes all. Red Chair deserves your business!

I love this place! The people here are extremely accommodating, I had a terrible haircut to begin with so I decided to come here and have a professional fix it. I was a walk in and they were able to work me into their busy schedule! I do suggest calling first. It’s LGBTQ friendly and has a very friendly atmosphere. The person who did my hair did a great job and did exactly what I asked for and fixed my bangs. I added the salt water spray to my bill and it added twice the volume to my hair. All in all I found my new favorite hair salon and will 100% be returning.

Such a great group of people, and I absolutely adore having Hannah take care of me and my hair ♥️ she’s done an amazing job with my full cuts, trims and colors, as well as helping me with products for my wavy/curly combo hair! I saw Whitney and she did a fantastic cut with my hair (short/chin length) She is super friendly along with the rest of the staff. Look for parking before hand- don't park at key bank! Also, they checked my vaccination card and I needed to wear a mask. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but she is good!!

Friendly and professional, all of thier hairstylists are amazing and know what they are doing, they work with any hair type and they work it good! I had Whitney do my cut and color, it turned out better than i imagined, i wish i had more to tip her with she definitely deserved it. I will definitely be going back.

Fun environment, friendly stylists, and I love the pixie cut I received. My only wish is that they had done more to prevent getting hair all over me (down the back of my shirt specifically). They used a cape but nothing else, and I would expect a little more from a place with $50+ haircuts. And then they just wiped my neck with a towel. It didn't take much effort from my friend to get way more of the hair off of me before I got in the car. Anywho, besides that, highly recommend.

Thanks to other curly-haired reviewers, I’ve found my haircut home and stylist for life! Laken understands me, meaning they make perfection with so little guidance from me! And, the free touch up within a month is so awesome!

I had the best experience here with my stylist Jeff! He took time to listen to what I wanted and discuss all the options to see what color would suit me best. I LOVE my hair now. The salon is so cool and different and has such a fun vibe. All the employees I interacted with were so nice. Very reasonably priced, and I felt very safe due to their covid precautions. All-around great place to get your hair done :)

Laken was like a magical hair fairy! She was able to take my overgrown waves/curls and make them light/healthy again! The whole space is so welcoming and you will feel immediately at ease <3 Update: after washing my hair post-blowout, her framing pieces are now far too short 😅 they are tight curls by my eyebrows. However, she would be great for special events where I need a style or perhaps if I need a color change

My favorite salon ever!!! The staff is amazing and Kendyle is the best hairdresser I've ever had. She always gives me exactly what I want and she is so personable, sweet, and easy to talk to. And the shampoo and conditioner from here smells like oranges and I LOVE IT. Best salon ever!

I called and asked for an estimate over the phone. They gave me a rough idea and confirmed the estimate once I sent pictures. The price I was quoted was the price due at the end. When I arrived I had trouble figuring out parking (I’m not from Seattle) and Ava the front desk worker provided instruction over the phone and then stood and held a spot in front of the salon for me. It’s no wonder is the greeting face, they’re amazing. My original booking was with another stylist but after they viewed the photos they called and suggested a different stylist they felt could do a better job. I appreciated the honesty. My appointment then was with Kendyle. She greeted me, answered all my questions thoroughly, we went through my expectations and what to expect, and past hair history. I appreciated being on the same page at the start. She was kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. Even with the haircut she asked before she cut she wasn’t scissor happy. I knew how much was to be cut before she did it so there was no surprises. While getting my hair done I talked with some of the other stylists as well. EVERYONE was so kind, friendly, and overall lovely. Everyone took safety protocols serious. Everyone wore their mask properly, sanitized often, and cleaned their area between clients. The day after my appointment I had some additional questions, Kendyle personally called and answered everything. Also, they don’t try and convince you to buy their products or try to up-sale you. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I will continue to drive the 2 and a half hours away to come here. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend any of the stylists. They all care about the clients.

Wonderful stylists and great cuts. I've been with Donna for years now. She gives such great cuts and color. I went a great red and color a couple of years ago and it looked great. It was so hard to find someone who could cut my hair right with all the layers. The red chair has been my favorite place she has worked. Everyone is so friendly It's also important that she's so great to talk to (I've never had to worry about annoying small talk with her -it's all real conversation).

I've always just accepted that I had frizzy, thick hair that had no style or control. I only felt like myself if I wore a hat or beanie, and that's just the life I accepted - hat guy. I never felt confident without a hat on, and especially never felt professional in a work/interview setting. That is until I met Whitney! She listened to my concerns, coached me on better hair care, and gave me a haircut that I can confidently say feels like me. For the first time in my life, I feel confident without a hat on. Since my first haircut a month ago, I haven't worn a hat since - the longest I've gone since as far back as I can remember. I know it's just a haircut, but it's me and how I present myself, and she was the key to it all. I can't thank her enough for her help and humor, and I will be back often! Thank you, Whitney!

I went to RedChair salon for balayage. They first listened to me, then suggested me to book a consulting with Sarah. Sarah and I discussed what I am looking for and my “hair habits”, and then she showed me pictures of what’s possible with my hair. To know what is going to happen, she took 2 small pieces of my hair to see how it lifts, and we made an appointment for 2-3 weeks out. She spend 2.5-3 hours on putting blended highlights and the result was amazing! I am a very dark brunette and I tell you vast majority of the stylists cannot do my hair well. Sarah is a real professional and she did an amazing job, also she doesn’t charge a fortune. I sincerely recommend her, especially if you’re a brunette.

I’m new to Seattle and was super nervous to go to someone new but Whitney did an amazing job!! I’m obsessed with my balayage! She took her time to make sure it was perfect, I really appreciated her attention to detail! My cut was also amazing! I went back to my side bang and it was exactly what I wanted! I'll be back to this place. I was able to make a same-day appointment here, and got my hair cut by Mary. She did a great job. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted, and she was fun to chat with. It's hard to find the right stylist, but I feel like this was the right choice! They also have a fun atmosphere, and gave me a cup of tea while I waited for my appointment. Nice touch!

Katherine did my hair for our wedding last weekend and I could not have been more pleased! She really took the time to listen and understand what I was going for. She was attentive, timely, and checked in several times during the process to make sure we were on the same page. It was truly a pleasure to be with her on our special day, she kept us on time and kept the mood calm and fun during a task that could have easily been stressful. I felt like a goddess and my look lasted all night, through a damp ceremony and even dancing. Highly recommended!

The price is a bit shocking at first, which was 40 bucks for a basic men's cut. However, it's worth it. My stylist was great, and they offer a free clean up appointment a few weeks after to keep your cut longer than a traditional stylist. Love the aesthetic and people.

She gave me the BEST icy blonde coloring I've ever had, and she puts up with my constant need for more towels and warmer water when I'm complaining about a little bleaching work on my sensitive skin - which is to say I'm high maintenance and she always calmly and nicely makes it the most pleasant experience.

Love Mariah so much, she is kind, thoughtful, talented at what she does and gives me a great cut every time! They offer trims within 4 weeks of a cut and their online booking service is super easy to use. Prices are standard and definitely worth every penny. Highly recommend this salon and Mariah!

The stylists are all experienced (Laken does a great job!) and they charge $20-$30 less for a men's haircut than Gene Juarez or Gary Manuel. They also take covid compliance very seriously.

This is my favorite place to get a great scissor cut. I began coming here about 2 years ago, when my regular salon was not able to get me in, but it became my regular salon afterward. Donna always does a great job with the scissor cut and this will be my salon for years to come.

As someone with natural curls, it has always been very difficult to find hair stylists that know curls and won’t charge you through the nose for a hair cut. I hadn’t had my hair professionally cut (properly…) in 3 years when I came to Red Chair salon. Amy is incredibly skilled, she asked all the right questions about my hair before starting the cut and did a beautiful job. My curls have not had this much bounce in years! The staff here is lovely, helpful, and genuine. Hannah cuts my husband’s wavy hair (shoulder length) and also does a great job every time.
