I love the salon. I used to go to the South Lake Union location but it's much brighter and busy at this location. Salinas has done an amazing job on my hair over the last several years and highly recommend her. The only challenge is expensive and somewhat challenging Pioneer Square traffic and parking, especially on game days.

If you have curly hair, Kathleen is just the best. I have been a victim to stylists over the years who say they know how to cut curly hair and you find out that they really don’t. I wouldn’t trust my hair with anyone else! The products she has recommended have made such a difference as well. Cannot recommend enough.

I have been seeing Dez for over a year and have loved every cut I’ve gotten from her. I have curly hair and she is so thorough, kind, and talented that I walk out of the salon so happy every time. Fantastic experience all around! I loooved my cut with Pax. Not only is it exactly what I was looking for, but she was awesome to talk to, extremely knowledgeable and capable, and even gave the best scalp massage ever while washing my hair! Really really glad to have found my salon and stylist in Seattle. The salon is a touch on the pricier side, but after years of going for cheaper cuts, I'm all about Aveda salons, and the experience at Gary Manuel was well worth the cost. Can't wait to go back! Update: Both my partner and I come back regularly! Pax continues to be wonderful at every part of her job, and we've had great experiences with others when she was unavailable as well. Couldn't be happier with the salon as a whole :)

I went in for the first time today and got a cut by Crystal. The environment was relaxing and the salon was very clean and inviting. She made great conversation and was really laid back, she was personable but also professional. You can tell she's experienced at what she does. I walked out feeling great about my hair!! The first salon in the US that I loved! Bailey did an amazing job with my balayage + color. It's been a few weeks and I love how my hair changes color slightly with each wash - it's expected but overall look still impresses me. Will definitely go back! (I've had a few very disappointing experiences with hair coloring in other salons here, but her work still makes me very happy!)

She's hands down the most talented hair stylist I've gone to (and I've tried many in Seattle). I always get compliments on my fringe cut. Paid 290$ for Balayage: Ended up with different color than I asked for. I've gotten haircuts at Gary Manuel for a few years now—they do a great job on making my frizzy-wavy hair cute. I'm heading to college, wanted to change things up, so I scheduled a balayage and cut service. I pinned some reference pictures with a base that's close to my hair color (The second two photos below). I showed these to my stylist and specifically asked for a balayage with caramel and ginger tones. I don't have a good photo of my hair to post right now, but the color I ended up with was more like the second picture. Warm, meh blonde. It's fine—adds dimension to my hair, looks all right. But it's not what I asked for. Not getting what you asked for when you paid 120 for a service is livable, maybe expected. But for 220+? I'm just a little confused.

Maria Espinoza at Gary Manuel Salon is the greatest! I've been seeing her for about 7 years and she is easily the best stylist I've ever had (and I've seen quite a few). Maria is one of those people whose talent with style, color, and cuts comes naturally. She loves what she does and it shows. She's extremely creative and inspires me to get out of my comfort zone. I trust (and rely on) her judgment and I've never left the salon unhappy with how I look and feel. As a bonus, the Gary Manuel Salon KNOWS how to do customer service. They take very good care of you - going to my appointment is always a treat (it is totally worth the trip to Belltown). Maria is easily one of the top stylists in Seattle (and beyond). She is that good.

I have been extremely pleased with what Parker at Gary Manuel Salon has consistently been able to do with it. She is so knowledgeable about hair, eager to style it as you would like, doesn't complain at all about mine (as others, elsewhere, have done!) and is warm and pleasant. Love Gary Manuel- they are very high quality without being stuffy. All of the stylists are highly trained and very professional. I have seen Heather who is a wizard with razor cuts for female hair and so much fun to work on hair color with. She is an absolute master with her scissors and has an uncommon eye in determining correct color(s). Ashley is an absolute delight to spend a few hours with-she has a passion and joy for her profession which is seldom found. Stop by and say hello to Heather or Ashley. You won't be sorry.

I am thrilled with my stylist, Alex, and with this salon. I have been going to Gary Manuel for several years. Each and every time I walk out the door I feel good about myself. Alex is a true artist, both with cut and color. I keep my hair short and my color is red, two very demanding style elements but Alex has the skill-set and the artistic passion to handle both. She loves her work and it shows. It's obvious that she and her colleagues pay close attention to new techniques, new hair styling equipment, new products and new trends. They all make it a point to hone their skills. The professionalism of the staff is amazing -- and that includes the friendly, welcoming, efficient front desk people.

I was a little intimidated to try this salon because I thought it might be too fancy for me, but they offered a Groupon so I thought I would try it out, and I've been going to them ever since. They were very welcoming and I really appreciate all the little amenities like the delicious tea. I have been seeing Karlie and she is fantastic. Her haircuts look just as good after a month or two as they do when I leave the salon. I used to be a beauty school haircut girl but it is definitely worth the price to get a really good haircut from a professional.

I've been going to Karlie at Gary Manuel Salon for over two years now. I love how I can always count on an excellent haircut and highlight. She is great at layering my hair to make it look healthy and has a good eye for what will work for me. Plus, I've been impressed with the highlights she gives me. She makes them look natural, but also makes suggestions on whether we should go a bit darker or lighter depending on the season. I highly recommend her! The only downfall is the salon is a bit pricier than I wish. I just would rather pay more for top notch quality than less and get questionable results, so I keep coming back.

Walking into the Gary Manuel Studio you are always greeted by one of the front end staff. After offering a robe, they ask what beverage you'd like. I've never waited more than a minute until my stylist, Parker, comes to get me. Even if I'm early, she's right there! Parker makes the whole experience wonderful! The environment is serene yet relaxed and calming yet stimulating. I have always left loving my hair. She does different colors that change with the seasons! I equally have always loved my hair cut/style. Parker is excellent at what she does while being great to talk to. I am always treated with kindness, respect and professionalism. I love the Aveda products that Gary Manuel offers. They are eco-friendly and the salon holds a number of fund raising events that support different humanitarian causes. In summary, the salon is wonderful, support staff professional and my personal stylist is the BEST!

Had these wonderful people accomodate us due to a cancellation after another salon turned us away on arrival to our appointment. These wonderful people not only saved the day, but also the salon was beautiful, with a nice space and wonderful staff. The supplied beverages were nice and the hair stylists have room to work, unlike the cramped spaces many salons have back home... If you need hair styled in Seattle, I cant stress enough you should consider this salon!

I have often changed color ( I have grey hair) and she always always always adds flair while keeping my hair natural looking (except for those peeka boo flares of pink or puple or...) and with blended grow in of the greys. I have been getting my hair cut by Collins for a few years and she is awesome! I have very coarse, thick, difficult-to-cut ethnic hair that usually intimidates or leaves other stylists clueless but Collins has done a great job since day one. She always takes the time to listen to my needs and look through all of the pictures I bring her for reference. She tells me what she thinks will work and then takes the time to explain what she will do. She is so patient and personable, I don't think I'd ever want to get my hair cut from anyone else. She also teaches me new ways to style my hair and she also gave me tips on trimming my fringe/bangs at home. Also, the front desk staff are always very friendly. Collins and Gary Manuel are so awesome and I'd recommend them to anyone!

I've been seeing Michael at Gary Manuel Studio for nearly 2 years. I have long-mid length curly hair and it has always been challenging finding a stylist who not only cuts hair in a way that works with my curls, but listens to me and works with me to find a cut/color that compliments my features. Michael does all that and more. My fiance has thick hair and has been to many salons/barber shops in Seattle-Valentine's, Rudy's, Vain. Finally I was able to convince him to see Michael, and he said it was his best cut in years. Michael always takes the time to listen, find out what you want, and truly cares. Carson was awesome and continues to amaze me! She has colored and cut my hair and each time, through the process, has made me feel heard and special. It's like having a "spa" moment. Originally went to the studio in SLU and got a balayage that took ~6 hours. Went home literally looking blonde so I asked for a different stylist to fix it. The scheduled me with someone at the Pioneer Square salon to correct it and since then, my experience with Gary Manuel has been flawless. They even book all my appointments via text! To make it short, Carson and David are VERY good. They are industry professionals who know what they are doing. David, especially, doesn’t want you to leave the salon unless you are feeling 100% about the look - which is something I really appreciate.

This place is great! I've been getting my hair done by Michael for almost two years now. He does a geat job with color. My hair is thick and dark which can make it hard to lift whenever I get highlights. However, Michael manages to make it look rich and "caramelly" without looking to brassy. He did a beautiful job on a recent modern soft ombre which I received lots of compliments on.

Overall a great experience. I've gone multiple times and had someone different every time, and it has been good every time. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable. I also love that you can book your appointment online without having to call. Parking is hard or expensive but you'd get that anywhere downtown. This is a great place to get your hair cut or colored.

Giving this place a 5 stars only because the girl who redo my hair did a really good job then the first person who did my hair. I basically went in on Tuesday wanting a blonde full highlights foil and basically went home disappointed coz my hair was black and I'm not kidding. I was confused. I called the salon back telling them about my hair so they reschedule me with a different hairstylish. I didnt wanna go back but I went instead. The girl did a really good job and the end result was what I wanted when I first went there. So if I ever wanna go back there I would probably ask for the same girl!

I have been seeing Derik for a few years now. My hair can be challenging, and he knew exactly how to cut it from the first time I saw him. He always gives great cuts and color. Since he has been doing my hair, I again receive compliments about my cut and color. My last visit with him was at the end of May and I have received even more compliments on my hair than usual. I gave him more freedom this time, and I absolutely LOVE my hair. The cut was amazing, and Derik is a color genius!!! Thank you Derik! Oh, and one more note: I travel from Bainbridge to see him. Might not seem like a big deal, but the ferry does add some inconvenience. Derik is well worth it!!

Gary Manuel Salon, if you can afford it, has top notch service and expertise. Derek rocks- He's a great listener, fun to talk to, yet very professional.
