I love this place! It's in a converted shotgun and has classic New Orleans charm with funky decor, a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I've been here multiple times, but Anna just gave me a perfect cut and it was one of the best salon visits I've had. I felt really pampered and she gave me great advice about my hair. I highly recommend it!

We love this salon. My daughter has been having her hair done here for many months. She is very experimental and has had some extreme changes and styles. They have been able to cater to her every wish and she comes out looking fabulous! The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. I know several people who have had their hair done here and all have had great experiences. The owner is a pro - I love this salon!

Great place filled with great women as their staff! Really made me feel welcomed and it was great to know I was in good hands. I had my dreads done here just over 2 months ago now and they just keep looking better and better everyday! I was definitely nervous about doing something as permanent as dreadlocks to the hair I had been growing for 4 years and couldn’t have been more pleased I’d i went anywhere else. I’m thoroughly pleased with the results and would recommend to anyone even for regular hair maintenance. Would totally leave a 6/5 rating if it let me go any higher! 😜

As an older man with receding hair line, I’ve not been able to find anyone who can cut my hair to fit my head and manage the new growth patterns. Shannah is an artist and has given me the best cuts I’ve had in as along as I can remember. And the men’s haircut is very affordable. Kudos to Twisted. Highly recommend to all, but especially those who need a little extra attention.

I would like to correct the part of the review posted by Deanna Hensley about "the client that was getting her dreads done by the owner" I am that client.. & I would like to clarify the fact that I have had my dreads for 5years, and at that point, they had NEVER been touched by a professional! I was actually surprised at the fact that she got so much done in only an hour!! I only asked for her to do the top because I was very excited about how the rest looked & for once I didn't look "a mess". She is extremely knowledgeable about dreads & I left there with a lot of helpful information. I have another appt & will continue to see her for my maintenance. I recommend anyone with dreads to go see her!! She will do an amazing job.

I’m a loyal customer of Twisted going on 3 years now. Before meeting Shannah, I had bounced around several of the top salons in Nola. My biggest frustration was finding a great stylist who then quit/ moved/ left the profession. Me and my hair are in a committed relationship and we need an artist who is also committed to us. Twisted absolutely delivers. Getting my hair done at Twisted is like stepping into my neighborhood bar. I know the staff and they know me. It’s like Cheers, only better because it’s hair! Each of these ladies is extremely talented. Shannah goes out of her way to provide professional development training on new techniques and products. Did you know your natural dark brown hair can go blond without becoming brittle? It’s possible! Shannah gave me the most beautiful, luscious blonde bayalge for my wedding. She worked with me for over a year to get the perfect balance. My hair was ON POINT! Seriously, if you’re looking for a new salon, look no more. Twisted offers cutting edge style, unbelievably effective product lines, a supportive and inclusive environment, and a great time. Do you love your stylist enough to invite her to your wedding? I do. And when the time comes, she’ll be at my baby shower, my kids birthdays, graduations, whatever celebrations the future holds. I love you ladies! Thank you for my self confidence and beautiful hair! P.s: the salon also features great local art! Some of my best pieces came from here. Go for a haircut, stay for the family, and buy some affordable local art! One stop shop!

I am interested in maybe trying synthetic dreads for the 1st time. I have recently grown into the interest of going outo of my comfort zone with my hair. In the past year or so I chopped my hair (for a good cause. To donate to Pantene) I had a pixie clipper cut (16 inches gone!) And now I'm interested in dreads. But I'm currently in that "awkward" stage and got a trim as a Bob.. anyway.... I'm like a pretty good distance away from nola so it would be a trip for me to go.. and I would like some more info if possible on this salon. Like what I would need to do for synth. Dreads to get done.. thank you!!!!
