Hyemi is the only person I trust to cut and perm my hair. I just can't seem to find any other person here that cut Asian hair style as well as her. She always does such a great job, and she is very skilled at what she does. I come here once every few months to get my hair cut and hair perm. She was very helpful and patient with me in helping me decide which perm to use when I first decided to try it. I tried both the digital perm and regular perm on different occasions and finally found the perm type and curl size suitable for my hair that I like most. I always look forward to my next hair cut and perm appointment. Attached are photos after my hair cut. Updated April 2023, got a hair cut and fresh digital perm, I absolutely love my curls and cut! Pics attached.

I came in for a 1/2 inch off my ends and a little off my bangs (called previously and was told to come in 20 minutes later) and the man who did my hair did it perfectly! He also straightened it which looks really nice. I've never had anyone pay as much attention to my hair as he did, if I'm ever back in this area I will be going here again!

I was about 10 minutes late to my appointment. They didn’t say anything about it, and I was sat down immediately. The person who did my hair, his name is Brian. I think he did a WONDERFUL job! I’ve been receiving nothing but compliments on my hair. I started with natural, long, black hair. What I did was trim off 3 inches and dye my hair platinum ice balayage style. Super satisfied with how it turned out. It took 6 hours and was $340. I was told the time it would take and the price of the service up front. I agreed to it. No regrets! My hair looks beautiful!

The hair stylist I had was Brian. He was probably the greatest hair stylist I’ve had. I wasn’t sure how short I wanted my hair or how it would look like with spikes, but he talked with me first for 5 minutes or so. The hair stylists I had in the past were in a rush, trying to get the job done, but I felt I had more time to decide the look here! Overall, great experience!

Great hair stylists! They take their time and know what they are doing. I recommend calling ahead of time especially for weekend appointments (sometimes up to 3-4 weeks in advance) since they book out due to popularity.

Hyemi and Brian are amazing hairstylists! They are masters of their own craft. Just like the other reviews mentioned, they are the best in handling Asian hair. They even work on kids. Brian did my son’s haircut which was nicely done. It’s a bit of a drive but their work is worth the time. Definitely my go-to hairstylist in the Nashville area!

Got a men's Korean perm from Brian, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I have very flat soft straight hair and styling it has always been something I have struggled with, but I was also scared that if I permed it, it would look too much. I aired my concerns to Brian and he found the perfect balance where the perm definitely added texture and wavy beautiful curls, but not so much that I would potentially regret it. Too many times have I dealt with haridressers who do not not listen to my concerns, so Brian's care was much appreciated.

I went to another hair salon previously where I asked to get two inches taken off and was surprised with 8 inches taken off and a two layer haircut. I came to Sun Hair Salon and they blended the two layers and took the time to shape my hair. My stylist was meticulous with the haircut and I breathed a sigh of relief when the cut was done and my hair was fixed. I will only go to this salon going forward! Thank you very much for fixing my hair.

I will preface this review saying that if this is THE place in Nashville for any hair service for the AAPI community. It's also an Asian-owned business with two very skilled hair stylists who make every appointment count. I've been coming here for the last 1.5 years and gotten haircuts with Brian; each one has been great. Brian takes time to listen to your requests and take action based on it, along with providing recommendations. He's patient, easy to talk to, and very detailed-oriented. I've never felt like he rushed even though he has many clients, and that's what makes Brian and Sun Hair special! Prices are great for haircuts in Nashville, and I always leave a big tip to support a local Asian-owned business. It is a bit far of a drive from downtown Nashville to Antioch, but I make the trek every time!

Best haircut I have received in Nashville. All I had to do was show a picture (a shorter undercut style) and Hyemi matched it well. Very nice person, good conversation. Also, the price of the service was very reasonable, $18 for exactly what I wanted. Can’t beat that and it leaves room for a tip.

Sun hair salon is the best! I’ve been looking for years now for a place that knows how to cut Asian hair. On top of it all, I have frizzy, wavy, not easily manageable hair. I’m so glad I found sun hair salon. No only does she know how to cut Asian hair, she is extremely attentive, detailed oriented, and really takes her time to perfect the cut. She took her time and didn’t rush at all. Wonderful experience and so glad to have found this place.

20 million stars - Sun hair is the only place I'll get my hair done. Yall know its hard to find a place that cuts asian hair well. Hyemi-unni knows exactly how I like it cut and she even has great suggestions when I show her a new style im interested in. Her prices are affordable and she takes her time to make sure its right. bonus points - theres a korean market and restaurant next door so you can get your hair cut, get groceries, and have dinner with ya boo.
